While driving down the highway, the vehicle completely lost power and the driver was forced to wrestle the truck to the side of the road in traffic.
NHTSA #11738779
The contact owns a 2024 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving on the expressway at 60 MPH, the battery warning light illuminated. The vehicle then lost motive power while stopped at a stoplight. The vehicle was towed to the side of the roadway by the Police. The vehicle was then towed to the local dealer, who determined there was a failure with the 48-Volt E-Torque battery. The vehicle was restarted and was driven for a month. There were no diagnostic codes retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.

During normal driving conditions the vehicles air conditioning system and interaction pane malfunctions. The issue has occurred twice during ownership. First occurrence was after going over a speed-bump at approximately 1-5 mph. The second occurrence was when coming to stop to make a turn. In both occurrences, the air conditioner was set enabled and coldest, and fan speed was set to 2-3. During the first occurrence (March 15th, 2024 at 4:28 PM EST), the fan speed self-raised to 7; internal circulation was likely already enabled. The Front and Rear defrosters turned themselves on, and temperature self-raised to mid-warm to hot. Attempting to lower the temperature, fan-speed, and attempts to disable defrosters immediately fail. The visual indicator shows its being lowered or disabled, but immediately re-enables or raises. In the second occurrence was June 14, 2024 at approximately 6:25 PM EST. This time, the fan speed did not self-raise; instead, just the cabin heat raised and defrosters enabled. In both occurrences, the touch screen is clean and clear of liquids or debris. In both occurrences the issue ceased after approximately 30-60 seconds, and controls functioned without issue. No prior contact was made to the screen prior to these occurrences. No modifications have been made to the vehicle to warrant this failure. No check engine light or other illumination/warning appeared during the occurrences. Video of occurrences are available upon request by government or manufacture.

The vehicles main 12inch information screen goes blank and will not turn on until about 45 minutes after the vehicle has been running when the information is black no safety features work and the dash reads no key detected in the vehicle while the key is inside

The driver sun visor pivot arm broke while driving in very heavy traffic, and merging lanes. This cause my view forward to be complete blocked for several seconds until I could get it back into a position to successfully fold it back to its storage position. During this time I could not see any traffic, and had to turn my attention to the sun visor so to return my view of the highway. In my opinion, this put me and other drivers at risk because of 1) the period of time to remove the visor from blocking my sight, and 2) the inability to use this safety feature when it is needed. I have a video of the sun visor and how it blocked my view, but cannot upload it. Please observe closely the plastic where the sun visor retention happens, and broke. Without a design change, this will happen again. I have owned this vehicle 21 months at the time of the incident described above.

My 2024 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting both Uconnect 5 (12” screen) and earlier Uconnect 4 units. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. The primary defect is black-screen failures while driving. When the screen goes black or freezes, the truck loses all functions controlled through the display, including HVAC/defrost, backup camera, vehicle settings, seat controls, and performance gauges. This creates an immediate safety hazard: I cannot adjust climate/defrost, cannot see the required rear-view camera when shifting to reverse, and cannot access key vehicle information. Owners across multiple years consistently report: • Black screens, freezes, and reboots • Loss of HVAC control and dual-zone functions • Backup camera not displaying • Vehicle/Apps tabs failing to open • Uconnect error messages • Smaller, harder-to-read gauges after updates • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures • No option to decline or roll back OTA updates These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate controls that directly affect safe operation. The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion. Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.

Within the first 3,000 miles of purchasing the vehicle, it would randomly go into neutral (although) it indicated drive. No warning signals were activated. This happened 5 times. The dealership tried to re-train the transmission which appeared to work for a bit, however the car now shuts down completely with no warning. It will engage the emergency brake as well. This has happened 4 times now. I have an elderly mom living with me, a husband with Parkinson's and I take care of my grand children. This is a huge safety issue. I have had the car to the dealership 6 times and they cannot figure out the problem. Chrysler is dragging their feet on this and I am concerned for our safety.

The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion. My vehicle experiences the same issues, including: system reboots, camera is not available, camera freezes, loosing the navigation screen in the instrument cluster intermittently, and faulty overlapping display in the instrument panel. Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures. Thanks in advance.

The reported vehicle has experienced repeated, critical stalling events immediately following the activation of the engine Start/Stop feature. The engine shuts down normally when the vehicle comes to a stop (e.g., at a traffic light or stop sign) but fails to automatically restart when the brake pedal is released or the accelerator is pressed. This leaves the vehicle immobilized in traffic, creating a significant safety hazard. Incident Details The stalling behavior has occurred multiple times under normal operating conditions. The issue is intermittent but frequent enough to cause concern for vehicle safety.
NHTSA #11705263
The auto shutoff is working intermittently. Also, the vehicle sometimes shutsdown and won’t restart without putting it in park, then pressing the ignition. Also, the touchscreen works intermittently
NHTSA #11703271
The vehicle has been in the shop for a multiple cylinder misfire 5 times now. RAM has been unable to repair the vehicle. This poses a potential safety issue because it could happen while I am driving on the road and potentially cause an accident.

About 2 weeks ago started hearing what sounded like a earing going bearing from under the hood on driver side. I took it to the dealership yesterday, told them im pretty sure bearing going out on MGU. The dealership called me about hour and half later, the MGU and belts tensioners failed. They have no clue when parts will be in to fix under warr. I must be one of the lucky ones and caught the problem before major problems started.
NHTSA #11643293
The car was purchased in Jan 16. In Jan 19 the car stopped, with complete no response when trying start. The dashboard was off and looks like no power at all. Try jumping the car and check the battery found that the battery was completely charged. The car was towed to a authorized dealership…and after 5 days no response from the dealer yet.
NHTSA #11568118
The driveshaft boot fell apart or came loose and contacted the emission system exhaust piping and eventually caught on fire. The whole underside was in flames and it was extinguished by the passengers. The unit could have completely caught on fire as the gas tank is close by. Killing the passengers and igniting the mountainside on fire. The vehicle will be towed to a dealership for inspection by the insurance company and the dealership.

Leaving work remote start did not work as it normally did. Started with the key noticed the the red flashing lightning bolt. Shortly after the truck jerked like I was hit from behind the RPMs were all over the place. I shut the truck off started again still flashing lightning bolt traction control light was on and other messages were popping up. Service air bag service throttle control ect. Rpms were up and down on its own. Let it run foe 10 minutes shut it off started again same thing it took 1 hour before I got the light to turn off. I drove it home it ran funny like it didn't want to shift and at a stoplight with foot on the break the RPM s were still all over the place. And again the truck lurched like I was hit from behind. I made it home parked the truck called the dealership asked for a diagnostics to be done as I had an appointment for oil change and tire rotation scheduled. Service department sid there were active codes and ice buildup on the throttle body. They said there was not a fix for this and to make sure the truck gets up to temp to burn off the moisture. My drive to work is 30 minutes and I let the truck warmup t9 temp before I drive it Everytime. It has happened consistently causing me to be late for work this is a big PROBLEM and unexceptionable as it is unsafe to have a truck lurch forward on its own. Having a newer truck with 15000 miles and the best warranty availability I would think RAM would stand behind their product and make it safe and dependable. But I was told by the service department this is a known problem that RAM does not have a fix for. Trucks 2023 and older have a fix not the 2024 and newer. Being late for work because if this is not acceptable either when it takes an hour for the light to go off to be out of limp mode as well. December 16 January 12 and 13 January 30-31 Service department recommended putting heat in my garage or installing a block heater but wernt sure if either would fix the issue.

Came to a stop sign, waited for traffic to clear to turn left as I floored it started moving and then all of a sudden loss acceleration and notice rpm ramped up to 7k. As in was just coasting I notice only my rpm would go up but the truck wouldn’t move. Lucky I coasted to the side of road and shifted to park. Turned off car and then restarted. Drive home the remaining 30 miles which it seemed to work fine. Kinda scary thinking u can lose power trying to merge into traffic but lucky there was no one coming behind me only 7k miles on my 1500 but now I gotta be careful when pulling out into traffic and really sucks cause the reason I bought the truck with the hemi was for me to be able to accelerate fast ..
NHTSA #11606052
When driving the vehicle at speeds between 30 miles an hour and 45 mph the vehicle will jump out of gear into neutral. There are no warning lights that come on. Road conditions varied from dry to wet. I had to coast off the side of the road each time put the car into park and then into drive. This is a safety issue as there are vehicles behind me, and in front of me and I am only able to coast to a safe spot, the vehicle has been to two different Chrysler dealers and they are unable to replicate the issue. I am concerned for my safety as I often drive on highways, and I’m not sure if that will happen on highway. The last time that the vehicle did this it began to lose power and then went into neutral. The truck only has 3,900 miles on it. The first time it happened I had only owned the truck for 18 days. It subsequently occurred one month later, and a month after that.
NHTSA #11580992
Vehicle failed state inspection w less than 24,000 miles due to excessive rear brake wear. Brake pad wear was significantly greater and failed inspection on the piston side of the brake pads potentially indicating failure or improperly functioning of electronic emergency brake.
NHTSA #11741482
Brake pedal goes to floor when braking. When brakes are applied they need to be pumped first, for pressure to be applied.
NHTSA #11675430
The warning lights for the brake and parking brake began intermittently going off on the dashboard. The parking brake was not engaged when the warning lights were on. In mid-January the parking break went while the vehicle was stopped and in Park. The brake would not release. Upon being towed to the dealers, the issue communicated was the the electrical connector for the brake actuator was corroded and the entire wiring harness would need to be replaced. This was odd given the truck was under a year old. The vehicle has been at the dealership for a month with no ETA for the part(s). Despite multiple calls with Stelantis corporate over the past 2 weeks they have been unable/unwilling to disclose the exact part needed, nor why there is no ETA for the part(s).
NHTSA #11642868
The 2024 Ram 1500 3.6L V6 E-Torque engine stalls at low speeds. Without warning the engine shuts off and the emergency brake automatically engages, when the truck comes to a stop it shifts into park, and I have to restart the truck. Fortunately this has only happened in parking lots at speeds of around 5mph. This has happened twice so far. The battery voltage dropped from 13.8 volts to 12.2 volts during both stall events. The truck is 1 year old with 15,324 miles on it.
NHTSA #11691444
MGU (Motor-Generator Unit) is a 48-volt belt-driven motor is malfunctioning. I reported the incident multiple times and been told that MGU part number 68623194AB has been on back ordered for months. They have tried to buy the part from other dealers and they won't sell because it's become an issue. I almost got into an accident when the car completly sputtered and shutoff while driving. Happening to my wife today. Put her life at risk. This needs to be address and corrected before someone gets hurt.
NHTSA #11648494
The truck died had to jump it. I was driving it and it stopped itself went into park automatically. it turned on the parking brake. and then died. Took several minutes to start. Now the truck on first start up and first shift into gear there is a delay and no power to the drive train then has I’m hitting the gas it accelerates very quickly
NHTSA #11603846
The airbag system failed to deploy during a front-end collision. Despite significant damage to the front of the vehicle, none of the airbags activated. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The driver (my husband) hit his head on the steering wheel due to the airbags not deploying, which put his safety at serious risk. The lack of airbag deployment increased the chances of injury during the impact. The problem has not yet bee confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. We are in the process of having the vehicle inspected. The vehicle was seen by police and today insurance representatives will inspect it. However, the manufacturer has not yet inspected the airbag system No warning lights or messages were present before the accident. There were no signs that the airbag system was malfunctioning.

Airbag service light coming on and off. I saw there was a recall on this but they are saying my truck is not on the recall.
NHTSA #11689828
I keep getting a message to service airbags. Sometimes it resets its self but always returns. Only 13000 miles on vehicle
NHTSA #11680374
The truck is on its 3rd camshaft and lifters due to failures. The truck has 43,000 miles on it. This is not normal. RAM has fixed it twice, and now the new lifters, that were installed a month ago are also beginning to make noise. When these camshaft and lifters fail they put metal into the engine which creates catastrophic failures.
NHTSA #11697022
Engine has to be replaced due to bad rod bearings

The tailgate latches will not close or open properly. The latch on the tailgate has moved inwards causing it to hit the pegs in the wrong position. It will not close and if it does latch it can pop open. When it did open it didn’t indicate the tailgate was down. I’m a general contractor and have a lot of tools/material in the bed of the truck. I’m worried something could have fallen out unbeknownst to be and caused an accident.

I bought a new Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck from Lindsay CDJR located at 8100 Centreville Road Manassas VA 20111 on [XXX] and on [XXX] I noticed there are missing rear wheel shields on both sides of the truck. I called the Dealership and spoke to the salesman that sold me the car Said Hashemi and I sent him pictures of the missing parts and exposed wires and undercarriage and parts. He told me I could go to a local dodge dealership and get a quote for the parts and that dealership could call him and he would arrange for a charge to the Linsay dealership. I did this the same day 10/23/2024 and got a quote of $809.14 When I called from that local dealership Garden City Dodge in New York Said Hashemi then spoke to the sales Manager Mike Tatum who said they would not pay for them. These shields are essential to safe operation of the vehicle, and it is a safety hazard to have exposed wiring and parts that will fail as a result. The fact that they make that part to protect the wiring and other parts is De Facto evidence that they are needed. It is also deception and negligence on the part of the dealership to sell a vehicle with missing parts. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The turn signal switch activates the wipers sometimes. And sometimes the wipers ghost and run by themselves for no reason at all. This is very distracting and it has started to scratch the windshield. VERY DANGEROUS when travelling down the interstate at 70MPH and the wipers screech across the windshield all by themselves............PLEASE HELP.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The passenger side wiper stopped wiping, the arm is not moving up and down, yes How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This is causing the passenger side windshield to not be cleaned impairing visibility/blind spot that would cause an accident. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Dealer saw the issue Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Dealer said it would take 3 days, has not been inspected yet as this is my only work truck Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? N/A, wiper arm just stopped moving one day
NHTSA #11718105
Truck has auto start/stop for fuel efficiency. It automatically engages on startup. Truck is prone to sudden unexpected acceleration when it is engaged. Has almost caused 3 wrecks with my truck. Dealership says they know about the problem and that I should just turn it off everytime I get in the truck. This will kill somebody some day. I forgot to turn it off today and it almost caused me to rear-end another vehicle while at a stoplight.
NHTSA #11664924
While in stop and go traffic my foot was easing off of brake to role forward. The vehicle began a rapid acceleration. I was able to for the brake pedal down but rear tires began spinning and rpm shot up. Applied left foot on brake pedal and with all my strength pressed brake. The vehicle moved forward almost impacting car in front. I was able to angle vehicle while braking without collision. The rear tires were spinning and smoking while occurring. Total event lasted a couple seconds but seemed like eternity. No damage but very concerned and wary of vehicle operation. Believe related to the etorque system! If I was in school zone may have resulted in catastrophic consequences and loss of life. Needs immediate attention! Vehicle has been recovered by ram dealership for testing.

I was backing up with nothing behind me and the truck abruptly went into park, applied the parking brake, and shut down the engine. Later, on the drive to work, the battery light came on and I had received a "reduced battery capacity" message on the display. The truck has the hybrid system with less than 9k miles. Emailing the dealership, they did not claim anything is wrong. Two weeks earlier no sound came out of the speakers and that resolved itself. So, I suspected something with software and disconnected the 12 V battery for 5 minutes and the fault went away. It is troubling that the vehicle shifts into park. It seems related to Investigation:PE24018.

The contact owns a 2024 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 MPH, the vehicle lost power, the parking brake activated, and the transmission independently shifted into the park. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The instrument panel showed that the battery charge had dropped to 12-Volts. The failure had occurred twice. The tow truck company was contacted and was able to recharge the battery and the contact to drove the vehicle to the residence. The contact stated that approximately 3 weeks later the failure recurred a second time at 1,800 miles. The vehicle was towed to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 800.

I recently purchased my first ram truck on 1/11/24. On the morning of 1/15/24 monday, I was leaving my work and as I tried to turn on my truck, it would not turn due to battery being dead. So, I asked coworker of mine to give me a jump. After 10 minutes or so, trunk was on but it had engine and abs, and trailer brake light on. I only had put on 277 miles at that time. Truck seems to make some random noises when driving. Also, when trying to trying to jump the truck it takes this lound sound in the speaker.
NHTSA #11566412
For reference, there are only 4,780 miles on my vehicle. I was driving 20mph when my 2024 Ram Tradesman dash lit up "Shift to P to Start". Checked my gear and it said I was still in drive? I slowed down to park, and then it said "Press Break and Push Button to Start". Again, still driving (slowly luckily). I began to slow the vehicle to 8mph and the whole vehicle stalled and the dash read "Shifter Autocorrect Engaged" and it literally THREW my vehicle into park and engaged the E-Break. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle any longer. There are MULTIPLE instances with models as old as 2018 and as new as 2024 that this is happening. And not just at slow speeds. I have read multiple instances in people traveling on the interstate at 70+mph and they are crashing. My vehicle may be under warranty still, but my life is not, neither is my husband and children's lives. This vehicle is how we get places as a family and it puts all four of us at risk of injury or death. This is a HIGH risk glitch. I contacted the Dan Cummins dealership in Paris KY and they said they had NEVER heard of this problem? But it's ALL OVER the internet? And it hasn't been recalled? They said it would be 2 weeks before they could look at it and acted like it wasn't a major issue. I am furious. This is people's LIVES at risk. This isn't a camera malfunction, or a tailgate that doesnt lock. This is the engine shutting down then the E-Break engaging when driving and potentially flipping and spinning my vehicle out of control. Not to mention other problems like my driver side window glitching and not rolling up until I hit it two and three times, or the AC shutting down and blowing out hot air when the automatic hybrid kicks in/or the truck is half shut down at lights. But this? This is it. I will not drive a vehicle made by a company who KNOWS they have RECURRING problems and refuses to recall the vehicle for YEARS. It is hazardous to LIFE.

I'm reaching out regarding my 2024 Ram 1500 that has approximately 45,850 miles. I was smelling anti freeze while heat was in the on position, along with the driver side front windshield fogging up immensely creating a visibility issue. (definitely a SAFETY ISSUE) I've been told by Sansone Ram in NJ that the heater core/HVAC has failed. I'm very familiar with automotives and know for sure that a heater core should not fail this early on a 2024 vehicle. This is clearly a PREMATURE FAILURE it's not normal wear and tear. This truck is still relatively new, has been maintained and serviced when needed with Sansone Ram in New Jersey. This should be a RECALL, this is NOT a wear and tear item especially the car is less then 3 years old with only 46000 miles. They are charging thousands of dollars because of a manufacturer Defect.....

Heater Core Windshield fogging because of antifreeze fumes interfering with the HVAC Yes the issue has been confirmed by the dealer (Sansone Ram, NJ) I wasn't sure but kept smelling antifreeze in the cabin and the front windshield was interfering with my view in front of me. This Vehicle is a 2024 Ram 1500 with approx 46000 miles, just a little out of the basic warranty but this issue is not a wear and tear issue, way to early for this vehicle to have this kind of Problem.

My vehicle is equipped with an automatic engine stop/start feature that shuts off the engine when the vehicle is stopped, as well as an eTorque system intended to assist with initial acceleration. While stopped at an intersection with a slight downhill grade (foot fully depressing the brake pedal), the auto stop/start feature engaged and the engine shut off. When I released the brake to make a right turn, neither the engine nor the eTorque system reengaged. As a result, the vehicle rolled forward under its own momentum into oncoming traffic. I immediately reapplied the brake to stop the vehicle. At that point, the vehicle unexpectedly shifted itself into Park, even though the engine never restarted. I then pressed the ignition button to turn the vehicle off and back on in order to restart the engine. After restarting, I was able to shift into Drive and move into the traffic lane just in time to avoid a collision. A crash was avoided only because oncoming vehicles were able to change lanes to avoid striking my vehicle. At the time of the incident, the vehicle had more than one-third of a tank of fuel, fewer than 33,000 miles, and has been serviced exclusively at the dealership. This incident occurred at the intersection of Riverbend Road and Park Road in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As I was about to pull into my driveway my accelerator did not respond to braking I was going very slow about to make a left turn , less than 10mph Just As I started the left turn the wheel became unresponsive and the accelerator did not deccelerate At the same time my control panel seemed to glitch/flash I put both feet on the brake and stood on it as the truck continued forward until it struck the mailbox The truck stopped at that point but I could still hear the rear wheels turning on the road until I put it into park

On [XXX] at approximately [XXX] on [XXX] south of Madras Oregon. We were on our way to Bend Oregon and just coming up to the scales, when I accelerated to pass a car in the passing lane, all my dash lights lit up and the engine stopped running. Being in heavy traffic this made a dangerous situation with vehicles all around me, while my vehicle was coming to a stop. I was able to pull to the right shoulder to safety. I have brought this issue up with the dealership on three different during service calls. Prior to [XXX] incident, the truck's computer system has never completely shut down all at once. I have told the service manager that I have had several issues on the electrical system, but was told there was nothing wrong. The lights that flashed on, the best I can remember were; Front Collision, Trailer Brakes, Checking Engine, plus others. I cannot remember all, due to maneuvering my vehicle to the right shoulder. Unfortunately, I have not have documentation on every occurrence of electrical/computer failure. I keep getting told that my computer system just needs an update. So the dealership must be somewhat aware that something is going on with my vehicle. The sad part is that I keep trying to resolve this issue with the Dealership, but they keep avoiding my phone calls or when I do go in person they tell me nothings wrong. Here is the name of the dealership I purchased the vehicle from with the extended warranty. "Lithia Dodge of Bend". My vehicle experiences the same issues, including: Cameras not working, screen freezing or blacks out, navigation failing, carplay unstable won’t stay connected or randomly drops and more. Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.

the vehicle randomly stalls, causing it to through it in park regardless of speed and puts on the parking brake causing a increased risk of an accident. The battery light then comes on. It has been in the shop 5 times for the same problem. This last time was the worst of them all. After restarting it on the way to the dealer it started shutting down the radio, then the ac, and then in middle of a sharp turn it shut of the power steering. Let's just say that a bad way to find out it has electrical power steering. then next it shut down completely with about every light on the dash on. Had to call a tow truck. None of the dealerships it has been to for these issues have been unable to find the cause. The dealerships have been unable to reproduce the issue. i currently do not have the invoices from the dealership it is at but can get them to you in a few days.

The contact owns a 2024 Ram 1500. The contact stated that after shifting to park(P) and exiting the vehicle, the parking brake had independently activated upon return. The contact released the parking brake and proceeded to drive normally. While the contact was driving 40 MPH, the parking brake unexpectedly activated, causing the rear wheels to slide over into the other lane while the vehicle came to a screeching stop. The contact stated that the parking brake warning light was illuminated. Soon after the failure, the contact was notified of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for service; however, upon the return of the vehicle, there were 11 fault codes on the instrument panel. The following day, the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the technician who had serviced the vehicle had failed to add a signature to the recall repair, which caused the codes to populate. Upon leaving the dealer, while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle started losing power with several unknown warning lights flashing on the instrument panel. The contact attempted to make a right turn, and the vehicle lost motive power and power steering functionality. The vehicle failed to restart and remained stuck mid-turn. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to another dealer, where the mechanic discovered 51 fault codes all related to the 48-Volt battery. The manufacturer requested data information and diagnostic tests before allowing the approval of a replacement battery. The contact called the manufacturer and was initially offered to buy back the vehicle; however, the contact was recently informed that the battery would be sent to the dealer. The vehicle remained unrepaired with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

The electric emergency brake engaged twice while I was driving; luckily, both times, I was just above idle speed in a parking lot. One time, the engine cut off wholly and randomly while driving. Once, at an intersection with my family in the truck, the truck began revving up and accelerating toward oncoming traffic. My family was in the vehicle. I had to smash the brakes several times, and the back wheels were chiroing due to the forward acceleration. There were no warning lamps. I turned the truck into the local RAM dealership, and they cannot find an issue. This makes the truck more dangerous because it happens at random, and the cause can't be found.

Braking Malfunction #1 - Location: [XXX] /right hand turn to [XXX] . On [XXX], Our family was headed from Fieldstone Assisted Living in Olympia to Alderbrook Resort in Union Washington for Thanksgiving dinner. When slowing down to make a right hand turn off of [XXX], Truck's front brakes completely seized up, making a bucking type motion and the back brakes failed (tires were accelerating while actually braking). The truck became uncontrollable and veered over into the path of an oncoming car. The oncoming car saw we were having an issue and stopped so as to not be hit head on by our truck. The truck ended up in the dirt alongside the left lane. After sitting a few minutes to collect ourselves and trying to figure what just happened, tested the brakes and they appeared to re-engage. NO WARNING LIGHTS EVER CAME ON. Braking Malfunction #2 - Location: [XXX] [XXX]. Six weeks after the first braking malfunction, heading home from running errands. As began approaching a red light, pressed the brakes to slow down and stop for the light. The front brakes completely failed (like pressing into a soft pillow that went all the way to the floor with absolutely no braking). At the same time, the back tires were accelerating/spinning (like with incident #1). To avoid running the red light, took a sharp hair pin turn (right) onto a side road nearly hitting two cars - one with small children in it. Had to make a quick decision if should run the truck into the ditch to stop it. Instead took a sharp left onto a side road and then another left into a warehouse parking and was able to finally stop the truck. Turned off the truck and after sitting for a bit, tested the brakes and they seemed to be working. Slowly drove the truck home with flashers on. NO WARNING LIGHTS EVER CAME ON. I was pulling out of a gas station onto the main road and the truck started shaking and died, parking brake came on and the battery right came on….1st incident Second incident I was baking out of a parking space and the same thing happened, truck started shaking and died, parking brake came on and the battery light lit up on the dash…. Dealership told me they couldn’t do anything about it because it didn’t do it while they had it…. Very dangerous issue, I’ve done a lot of research and all leads back to auto/ stop feature and etorque generator… My truck only has 11,000 miles on it… Please look into this, I have small kids and don’t want them harmed because of a malfunction from my truck… Thank you..

On two separate incidents my 2024 RAM [XXX] with ESC displayed multiple dashboard alerts while turning at low speed with an driver alert instruction to shift the knob to park with truck still rolling. On both incidents the engine was shut-off while the vehicle was still rolling. Very dangerous but I had to stop the vehicle completely and shift to park then restart the truck. I will attempt to get camera pics of the display next time it happens. Similar to 2025 RAM ESC recall, the crash safety features are disabled until the vehicle is stopped and restarted. 2024 Ram 1500. Approximately four weeks off the dealer lot new. Approximately 1,300 miles. The vehicle had never been involved in any sort of accident, hitting of a pothole or curb. As I was traveling down a secondary road at approximately 30 miles per hour, the rear-left wheel separated from the vehicle without warning. This caused extensive damage to both the Ram and another vehicle that was later struck by the wheel. This occurred at approximately 11:00 PM. Upon inspection of the wheel, we noticed one of the lug studs was sheared off. The next day we returned to retrace the route I took that night to see if we could find any of the lug nuts. Approximately 500 from the point where I exited the parking lot, we located one lug nut with the stud sheared off still inside. Approximately three miles up the road from that location is where the wheel separation occurred. We were able to recover four lug nuts within 200 feet of that location. I had only had this vehicle for four weeks and had not, nor had I any reason to have loosened or taken off any of the wheel components. Manufacturing defect seems to be the only reasonable explanation. I have in my possession five lug nuts, one with the stud sheared off. The vehicle and wheel are currently at a Ram dealership awaiting inspection by the manufacturer and insurance company. Our safety was put at risk because the vehicle experienced a violent jerking and lurching and could have flipped or collided into another object. The dislocated wheel could have killed the people in the car that were hit by it. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I do not know. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Currently ongoing. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No.

The vehicle at low speeds or when stopped at an intersection UNEXPECTEDLY stalls, sometimes when rolling. This disables the vehicle and to restart you must turn the gearselecter knob to Park, put your foot on the brake and push the start button. Sometimes the engine requires multiple attempts to restart. The instrument display after the stall shows the check engine light illuminated along with the warning lights for the front and rear parking sensors , the stability control, and automatic emergency braking. These warning lights remain illuminated at least until you turn the truck off. The check engine light remains on usually until the next day. It has now stalled over 10 times. This problem has not been diagnosed by the dealer.

Purchased Ram 1500 on [XXX] from Security Dodge in Amityville, NY. 50 miles into the drive home the steering wheel shook violently and the power steering went out. 20 minutes later it came back on. This happened three times on the trip. Next day it went out and did not come back on. Brought to Victory Dodge near my home and they replaced the steering rack. Took two weeks for them to get a unit in. Picked up my truck on Tuesday and it worked great to my office. Went our for lunch and the power steering failed. I traveled less than 20 miles. It is back at the dealer and they said its probably not the steering rack so they want to run diagnostics on the computers and check the wiring. They have no idea what the problem actually is. Extremely frustrating. I'm coming up on a month that I have been unable to use a brand new $85,000 truck. Does anyone at the corporate office ever get involved to help? Does anyone know how to help this local dealer? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While traveling 75mph on the interstate, the tonneau cover ripped free of the bed of the truck. The two clips closest the cab broke in half. The two clips near the tailgate bent the rails of the quarter panels upwards as they tore free. The tonneau cover blew up in the air about 20 feet, flying in front of the truck behind me. Luckily, they were paying attention and were able to make a controlled swerve out of the way. This is hazardous to others. Reading forums on the internet, this has happened to many other drivers of Ram 1500 trucks with this exact tonneau cover. I can't believe, with the massive number of reports of this happening, that this product is still available. The tonneau cover is not available for inspection as it was unsafe to retrieve it from the interstate. I do have the two halves of the clips that broke in half. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. This happened with approximately 1,000 miles on the odometer. The tonneau cover came installed on the truck when purchased new.

Took delivery of new truck (2024 Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie) on September 25th. On September 26th, while backing into a parking space, the engine cut off and multiple error lights illuminated (including check engine light). I was able to re-start the vehicle and back into the space. Dealer investigated, determined that a fuse was loose. On October 14th, while pulling into a shopping center road, the engine shut off and the same series of error lights, including the check engine light, illuminated. When the engine cut off (including the first time) power steering is lost, and the vehicle becomes very difficult to steer. If I had been pulling into a main road, I would have been at very significant risk of collision with any oncoming vehicles. I was able to re-start the vehicle and take it back to the dealer for investigation. Losing engine power while pulling forward is quite dangerous.
