My 2023 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting both Uconnect 5 (12” screen) and earlier Uconnect 4 units. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. The primary defect is black-screen failures while driving. When the screen goes black or freezes, the truck loses all functions controlled through the display, including HVAC/defrost, backup camera, vehicle settings, seat controls, and performance gauges. This creates an immediate safety hazard: I cannot adjust climate/defrost, cannot see the required rear-view camera when shifting to reverse, and cannot access key vehicle information. Owners across multiple years consistently report: • Black screens, freezes, and reboots • Loss of HVAC control and dual-zone functions • Backup camera not displaying • Vehicle/Apps tabs failing to open • Uconnect error messages • Smaller, harder-to-read gauges after updates • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures • No option to decline or roll back OTA updates These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate controls that directly affect safe operation. The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion. My vehicle experiences the same issues, including: [Insert brief personal symptoms: e.g., black screen while driving, loss of HVAC, camera not available, system rebooting, etc.] Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.

On approximately September 2024, after a few months of purchasing my vehicle new, the manufacturer installed battery died. This required me to jump it every time I needed to start it over the course of a week. A local dealership replaced it under warranty, though I noticed when I was driving the parasitic drain on the battery would continue. This repair was done through the Berlin City CDJR dealership located in Gorham, New Hampshire. I suspect if I drove long enough, critical systems would not function correctly while driving due to the battery dying. Today, I noticed the same issue arising. The battery died again, presumably from the same parasitic drain, and voltage was sitting around 10 amps. I would approximate that, over the past six months, the hybrid system has not been functioning as normal when I first purchased the vehicle. The trucks display notes why/when auto/start stop doesnt work. Over the past few months it displays that the battery is charging so auto/stop start is disabled, no matter how far/long I drive. It’s concerning to think what may happen if the hybrid system connected to the truck dies. The first time the regular battery died the display noted low voltage. For this most recent incident, it did not.

I have taken my truck in to the dealership twice already for the same issue and they are telling me they cannot find the issue. My truck would not start, so I replaced the battery. Noticed that the voltage would drop after driving it about 20 miles or so. Normal range is 13.5V. Starting the truck, it starts out at 13.5V but after about 20 miles or so, the voltage would drop to 12.5V. Dealership could not find out why. Engine light is not on but the voltage drops every single time I drive. I bought it with 11 miles on it in June of 2023 and didn't have this issue until September of 2025. The truck only had about 37,400 miles on it when it started messing up. I am scared/worried that the truck will just stop while driving. I have read many forums and stories about many others are having this issue too. The Motor Generator Unit (MGU) malfunctioning. There are recalls for 2019-2022 MGU but not for 2023 or later.

My 2023 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting the Uconnect 5 (12” screen). These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. The primary defect is black-screen failures while driving and loud screeching noises coming from the radio. The loud screeching noise causes you to immediately pull the vehicle over to turn off the truck or manually reset the radio. Ram released a software update to the Uconnect system, and it has disabled navigation, drive mode, and rear camera. This has been nonfunctional now since April so about eight months and they are saying they’re not releasing any new software updates at this time to fix it. I’ve taken it to the dealer and they also cannot fix until there’s a software update from RAM.

The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated, followed immediately by the battery warning light. The contact stated that the instrument panel illuminated and the message "Low Voltage 11.3V" was displayed. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was instructed to return home and immediately call the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the issue, and a local dealer was notified. The contact was informed to tow the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the contact was informed that the alternator had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact was later informed that the part needed to repair the vehicle was on backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and suggested a reimbursement for a rental vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 14,818.

I have been trying to get the turn signal recall fixed on my truck for the past year. After I make a left turn, the turn signal only turns off about 1/2 of the time. The first 4 times I spoke to them both in person and over the phone, they said they were waiting on the part. When I spoke to them last week, the parts guy said he had the part, but I would have to pay for it since the system showed the recall had been fixed. No one has ever even worked on the turn signal, other than to test it, which was at the end of 2024.

The electrical and battery system on my 2023 Ram 1500 Big Horn has repeatedly malfunctioned, causing a severe parasitic battery drain that leaves the vehicle completely inoperable. The problem began in Fall 2024 and has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer multiple times. Despite numerous repair attempts, the underlying issue has not been resolved. The truck has been at the dealership continuously since October 2024, and technicians have been unable to determine or fix the root cause. The vehicle experiences total battery failure within hours or days of sitting idle, even after multiple new batteries and modules were installed. The faulty electrical component/system is available for inspection at the dealership. This ongoing electrical drain presents a serious safety risk, as the truck can lose all power unpredictably, preventing it from starting or responding to electronic controls. Before complete failure, the truck would display warning lights, low-voltage messages, and random electrical faults, including systems shutting off unexpectedly. The issue has been inspected and documented by the dealership under an open case with Ram Customer Care, yet no resolution has been achieved. I have been without my vehicle for nearly five months, and the same problem has persisted for almost a year.

Truck stalled suddenly, indicating a flashing message of electrical error of stability assistant. Truck restarted with a yellow engine light on, but would not allow dial to shift into drive. Automatic correct transmission would pull it back into park. Turned engine on and off several times. Once responsive to Drive option, attempted to leave congested traffic area. Moving for 5 minutes now at 35 mph with emergency lights, Truck stalls again. Engine can be restarted but will not hold in Drive. RAM 1500 is new, owned for 4 weeks now.

2023-2025 dodge rams and promasters 20,000miles to 70,000 miles my truck has 69,432 miles dash boards are getting so hot the radios are going into overheat mode the head units are hot to the touch the cigerette 12volt outlets are melting anything in them. My heater core erupted in my truck last week and the coolant vaporized into a thick smoke that smothered me in my cabin that i had to pull over and air our my vehicle i believe this is due to the dash boards getting really hot i took it to savage dodge on 61 in reading pa 19605 they diagnosed it as a heater core and heater core hoses. I called Stellantis manufacturing to ask them to review the manufacturing defect the customer service line wants nothing to do with this even after i stressed to them the dangers of inhaling vaporized coolant and the fire hazard their dash boards present. They keep denying the claim to fix this and I am trying to stop someone from dying before they decide to correct the problem. I am a 10 year master mechanic and 8 year master diagnostician in the auto industry this needs to be addressed my friends 25 dodge promaster with 21,xxx miles on it had the heater core erupt on his too but his is inder warranty. But they want no parts in achknowledging this massive issue.

Many vehicles functions are controlled by the Uconnect screen, climate controls, stereo, navigation and hands free phone operation. The 12” screen for the Uconnect system has a know issue where it goes blank, screen dances around and renders the hands free function useless along with the other critical functions. If the screen goes out while driving it can cause confusion with the driver.

Related to auto start/stop. When coming to a stop, vehicle shuts off while still moving at 2-3 mph. Not just occasionally but EVERY time. Also, cannot park or put into reverse without vehicle shutting off too early, just to restart itself before going onto park or reverse. Took the vehicle in for recalls but did not change how auto start/ stop functions. Dealer could not replicate. Still to this day doing same thing.

NHTSA #11657435

This vehicle was built during the Covid 19 Pandemic. The windshield is leaking at a faulty windshield seal causing water to leak from the headliner onto the driver which will distract the driver causing a safety issue. This 2023 Ram was purchased in June 2024 and is under the 3/36 warranty. The Ram dealership confirmed the leaking seal gasket but would not honor the warranty. Dealership said any glass issues are only covered for 12 months.

I took my vehicle in to the dealer for a safety recall related to the ABS control module. Apparently it was software related and they said they would update the software. After the update a "Marketing Notification" shows up on my screen upon engine start and engine shutdown. It says Discover AppMarket! In-vehicle marketplace for Learning, Gaming & Connected Services. Tap Apps-Other-AppMarket-Games & Digital Store. Call 800-777-3600 for questions or if you choose to opt out of these messages. This is unbelievably criminal.

I was sitting at a green light yielding to oncoming traffic while waiting to turn left. When I had the ability to safely turn left, I attempted to hit the gas and accelerate. However, the vehicle died shifted into park automatically and set the electronic parking brake I had to restart the truck and manually undo the electronic parking brake before I could move when I contacted the dealer they acted like they have never heard of this issue before.

NHTSA #11571333

The truck was purchased brand new and from day one I have complained of a petal hesitation. From a stop if you start very slowly you have normal acceleration. If you are rushed and step down fairly quickly nothing happens so you step down some more and you get a very abrupt jackrabbit starts and will spin the tires. It is bad on dry pavement but becomes a serious safety problem on a slick road. I also know of three 2023 ram trucks that have the same problem that I do. The dealer has not been able to diagnose or fix the problem. They replaced the transmission with less than 10,000 miles on the truck and it did not solve the problem.

The Auto Start-Stop system is not working properly. Three times it has failed to restart when sitting a traffic light. I believe this is safety issue because I could be rear ended if a vehicle is not aware of my vehicle not starting to move with traffic. The Auto Start-Stop can only be manually stopped by turning it off in the vehicle ever time to start to use it. This system needs fixed or there could be an accident on the road.

NHTSA #11722769

There have been multiple failures from the injector in multiple cylinders resulting in hesitation and shaking in the vehicles. My understanding is that many of the maintenance shops have had to replace this exact component in many 1500's due to its failure. I was informed that Stellantis has been informed, however refused to issue a recall or redesign the unit. Also, they are not covering it under the power trane warranty, even thought the engine won't run without a fully functioning injector. Yes this is a safety issue because of the hesitation it causes, therefore putting you in harms way when pulling out in traffic.

While driving slowly in stop & go traffic, the engine shuts off unexpectedly, often while the vehicle is moving at a slow speed (e-torque switching from 4 cylinders to 8 upon slight acceleration. The truck additionally applies the emergency brake and the shifter remains in Drive. I have to hit the 4 ways, turn the engine "off", turn the nob to Park, remove the emergency brake, restart the engine, turn nob to Drive, stop the 4 ways and continue driving. It is terrifying on busy city streets during rush hour! Recently, the truck almost stalled when approaching a red light that turned green, it "stumbled" and the entire dashboard blacked out. I've owned this truck since mid-July 2023 & this stalling has happened on five (5) occassions - July 2023, November 2023, May 2024 & twice March 2025. Twice in the last week that included the blacked out dashboard. The stalling is intermittent and neither I nor the dealership repair can duplicate the issue. This is exactly the same issue that the many other Ram 1500 e-torque owners report. I'm terrified that I will be rear-ended & cause a major crash.

This is the second time I am filing a complaint in regard to this issue. I was driving on a very busy road, when my vehicle had come to a complete stop. The dashboard read: “EMERGENCY BRAKE” in red, then the emergency brake had turned on by itself. After trying to turn off the brake, the vehicle completely turned off. I had to restart the vehicle, in which case it turned on in neutral. This was extremely dangerous for myself, and the people around me in the intersection. I can only hope this problem is resolved quickly.

2023 Ram 1500 V6 eTorque, 40,000 miles. Two stalling incidents have occurred under different conditions. Incident 1: While towing approximately 4,000 lbs, the 12V battery began slowly draining while the vehicle was in motion. Battery voltage gradually dropped below 10 volts until the engine shut off completely while driving. No warning lights appeared prior to shutdown. Jump start restored normal operation. Stored fault codes retrieved afterward showed 16 simultaneous voltage fault codes across every major module including ECU, ABS, EPS, DDM, PDM, CSWM, IFC, PTS and SCCM — all logging system voltage below allowable range simultaneously, consistent with a complete charging system failure. PCM also logged a U0401 code indicating implausible data received, consistent with the PCM losing stable voltage. Incident 2: After approximately 45 minutes of low-speed driving (5-10 mph) in a Walmart parking lot, the vehicle stalled without warning on a busy road in [XXX] . My wife and two young children were in car seats in the vehicle at the time. The engine cut off completely in live moving traffic with no warning. I was forced to exit the vehicle and jump start it in the middle of traffic while my children remained strapped in their car seats, creating a serious and dangerous situation. Jump start restored normal operation. On the subsequent highway drive home, battery voltage was observed declining from 14V to 13.2V over the course of the drive, suggesting the charging system is unable to maintain adequate voltage output. This is a known recurring issue with the Ram eTorque mild hybrid system. NHTSA has an open preliminary investigation into eTorque stalling on 2022 Ram 1500 models. The MGU, BPCM and PCM are all covered under the 8-year/80,000-mile Federal Emissions Warranty verified via VIN. PCM software updates have never been performed on this vehicle. Vehicle is being brought to an authorized Ram dealership for diagnosis and warranty repair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

3 times in the last month, my 2023 Ram with only 25000 miles has stalled while I have been driving. The situation was I was in a line of traffic and rolling forward at approximately 5-10 miles per hour when the truck died, auto shifted into park and set the emergency brake. I then immediately hit the start button again and got a low battery voltage warning. I turned the car completely off and on again, then was able to move and continue with the flow of traffic with no faults. I took the truck to the dealership to have it diagnosed and they found that the truck logged a code P032F, which is associated with vehicles stalling. However, they stated they were unable to replicate it and there wasn't a fix currently available. I have also not been able to replicate it and it seems to happen completely at random. My safety and the safety of others was definitely a factor as I was stranded in traffic without the ability to move my vehicle. If I had not responded quickly, it could have caused an accident. Prior to this there were no symptoms of failure, and the truck drives completely normal until the event occurs.

I purchased this vehicle from the dealership on Nov 24, 2023. On Dec 9th, 2023 I found evidence of mice chewing and droppings. I checked the air cabin filter and there was evidence of mouse droppings and chewing as well. I set traps and caught three mice. I took the vehicle to the dealership to identify where they were coming in from and to assess what kind of damage was done to the vehicle, as it was smelling very bad even after changing the air filters. The dealership stated that this was not covered under warranty because it is not a mechanical problem and that I had to go through my insurance and submit a claim before they could proceed with removing the dashboard to investigate damage to the firewall. I received approval from my insurance after submitting a comprehensive claim and the dealership took apart the entire dashboard as well as several other components. They stated that they found evidence of mice droppings, but could not identify where they were coming from, so they put everything back together and returned the vehicle to me. Yesterday (March 6th), I again saw new evidence of chewing near the gas/brake pedals as well as at the air cabin filter. I called Ram to complain about this but they stated that it is not a mechanical issue. However, I believe they need to investigate and fix this problem because it is a structural issue that is permitting mice to enter and damage my vehicle and children's car seats, and the firewall between the engine and cabin could be compromised. More importantly, it is a health hazard with the mouse droppings and urine propagating throughout the ventilation system. Your feedback and support would be greatly appreciated to have Ram resolve this issue with my vehicle. Thank you

My vehicle experiences the same issues, including: small fonts, error popups, screen bouncing and being unresponsive. Backup cam shuttering. Unable to modify driving mode,.... Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.

To whom it may concern, I am the owner of a 2023 Ram 1500, VIN: [XXX] ], currently located in American Samoa. My vehicle has an open safety recall (Recall # [75B/NHTSA 24V-653 & A1B/NHTSA 24V-729). As you are aware, American Samoa is a U.S. Territory; however, there are no authorized Chrysler, Jeep, or Ram dealerships within the territory to perform the required safety repairs. Because this is a safety-related recall on a U.S. Market vehicle, I am requesting an "Out-of-Area" remedy. Specifically, I am requesting that Stellantis: Authorize a local independent repair facility (such as Samoa Motors in Tafuna) to perform the recall repair. Coordinate the shipment of necessary parts and technical instructions to said facility. Provide a direct payment or a guaranteed reimbursement authorization for the labor costs associated with this repair. If a local repair is not possible, please provide instructions on how Stellantis intends to fulfill its legal obligation to remedy this safety defect in this U.S. Territory, including any provisions for vehicle transport to the nearest authorized dealer (Hawaii). I look forward to a prompt resolution to ensure this vehicle is safe for operation. The contact owned a 2023 RAM 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact's vehicle rear-rear-ended the vehicle in front of the contact's vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact was informed of an unknown recall repair with a similar failure description. The dealer confirmed that the VIN was associated with the unknown recall repair and the repair was performed. The vehicle was repaired. The other driver's vehicle was towed to a local tow yard, where it was later condemned for total loss. The police and paramedics were at the scene. The contact did not sustain any injuries. The other driver was treated by paramedics. A police report was filed, however, the information was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,743.

I own a Ram 1500 Big Horn that has repeatedly shut off while driving and entered limp mode, causing sudden loss of power and engine shaking. This has occurred both while driving and while stopped at intersections, creating a serious safety hazard in traffic. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership more than nine times for the same issue, but they initially claimed they could not diagnose the problem because no codes were present. The vehicle recently broke down again and the dealership retrieved diagnostic codes P2172, C121C00, B151A100, and U100300, indicating airflow and CAN bus communication issues. Ram ordered an alternator to fix the truck, but the first part received was defective and had to be reordered, further delaying repairs. Despite being a loyal customer since 2019, I have repeatedly received substandard service and temporary fixes from Ram, and the truck remains unsafe and unreliable. The problem is unresolved, and I am concerned this defect could cause the vehicle to stall in traffic and potentially lead to an accident.

NHTSA #11724403

While driving at roadway speeds, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of the instrument cluster and infotainment display, immediately followed by an engine shutdown. Steering and braking assistance were reduced during the event, requiring immediate driver intervention to safely maneuver the vehicle. The failure occurred without warning. No prior warning messages or indicators were visible before the loss of power and instrumentation. After the vehicle coasted and was restarted, all systems appeared to return to normal operation. This condition has occurred more than once and presents a serious safety risk, especially at highway speeds, due to loss of engine power and driver information. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership and remained there for over three weeks for inspection. The manufacturer was consulted, but the condition could not be duplicated during testing. No repairs were performed, and the vehicle is being released back to the owner with instructions to drive it until the condition occurs again. The issue has not been resolved, and the vehicle remains susceptible to an unexpected shutdown while driving, which could result in a crash or loss of vehicle control.

The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 6 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power, and the parking brake unexpectedly engaged. The contact manually disengaged the parking brake. The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, a message to “Shift to Park” was displayed, and the low-battery and low-voltage warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure persisted after restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed. The mechanic informed the contact that the battery had not failed but that the vehicle was experiencing voltage errors. The contact was informed that the battery did not need to be replaced, and no repairs were performed. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed; however, the dealer retrieved DTC: P032F. The dealer informed the contact that the failure could not be duplicated, but advised the contact that the battery was failing. The exact cause of the battery failure could not be determined. The dealer replaced the battery. The vehicle was later taken to another dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed that the failure could not be duplicated and that the cause of the battery failure could not be identified. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. On 3 separate occasions the truck has completely broken down while traveling 60-84mph. Each time, while in motion, the check engine and battery lights come on on the gauge cluster. Voltage starts rapidly draining from the battery indicator before systems start being shut down. Fiirst is entertainment, then climate, the ABS, then steering, and then all power and engine loss. I almost lost control the first time while trying to make it safely over to the soft shoulder. Each of the three times this had happened, the truck was completely dead in the side of the road and was towed to a dealership three times. The truck was towed to 2 different dealerships. The first two times to Imperial Dodge where they charged the battery the first time and did a software update the second time. Most recently the truck had been at DCH Temecula, for two weeks, where nothing has been done due to them not being able to recreate this issue. They recommended that I take video, while driving, as the issue happens live. This is a major safety issue in general but unacceptable that the manufacturer and dealerships only solution is for me to put myself and my family in jeopardy, and break California law, to diagnosis this massive unsafe vehicle.

I call the Service dept at Gainesville Dodge in Florida and have another appt for a week from tomorrow. The first occurrence was 8/2026 I called another dealership in Starke Florida and spoke to their service dept. They informed me they have had the same issue with other Ram trucks but cannot find the cause. This unexpected shutting down is extremely dangerious! I searched the internet and found this issue is not uncommon. There were many reports of the same issue happening to other owners. On three occasions now the engine has stalled after stopping for stop sign then attempting to accelerate and continue driving. When this occurs the emergency brake is also self deployed causing a sudden and hard stop. This could lead to a rear end collision and possible injury. Ironically this has happened at the exact same stop sign all three times. There were no warning lamps or any indication at all of any engine issues prior to or after the engine stalling. I have owned the vehicle for 16 months and it has 16k miles on it. The vehicle drives fine after each incident. I am contacting the dealer i purchased the truck from today about this issue. When I was driving on a very busy road, the emergency/ parking brake immediately turned on while the truck was returning back in motion, which made the car come to a complete stop. I had to manually turn off the parking brake, even though I was not the one to turn it on in the first place. This could have put the people behind me in serious danger, as they could have hit me and then been seriously injured. The problem was brought to the attention of the manufacturer, and they had just asked me if I had turned on the brake with my knee. After being met with an apology, I was asked to bring the truck into the servicer the following morning. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and they only appeared after this had happened.

The truck was returned to me with the exact same noise and vibration — the repair did not fix the problem. After getting my truck back, the service advisor communicated to me in writing that the technician said there is no permanent fix for this issue and that he sees it all the time on Ram trucks. This is a written admission from an authorized Ram dealership technician that this is a known, widespread defect with no solution. This vehicle is still within the 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Stellantis/Ram has been notified via formal complaint. * Sudden shutdown while driving * Dash failure * “Vehicle not in park” message * RF hub failure * Recall references While driving at highway speeds and without warning the entire dashboard shut off and the vehicle lost power. The message “Vehicle Not in Park” appeared. My son was forced to coast off the highway to safety. Once the vehicle stopped, it shifted itself into park. The truck restarted briefly but failed again shortly after. Luckily this time he was able to drift into a nearby gas station. At that point the vehicle had no dashboard lights, no ignition response, and no electrical power to the drivetrain, though interior lights still worked. Vehicle would not start and needed to be towed to the dealership where is sat for 12 days before they replaced a water damaged RF hub. There was no cracks or leaks located but there was water damage. Weather conditions: Sunny and dry, temperatures in the mid-50s. This failure created a dangerous situation. While driving at highway speed. This incident placed my sons life and the lives of others on the road in danger. Since this frightening event, we have conducted extensive research and discovered that this appears to be a well-documented issue affecting Dodge Ram trucks, specifically involving moisture entering the cab and damaging the RF hub, which can cause electrical failures and loss of drive power. The dash shutting off and truck losing power while driving — is a major safety issue. Situations like this are known to fall under sudden loss of power / drive power investigations by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Connected Services system in my 2023 Ram TRX regularly displays large, full-screen alerts for emergency vehicles, tow trucks, and lane closures — often when there is no actual hazard present. These alerts are extremely distracting and dangerous. They: Block the entire screen, hiding navigation, camera, and HVAC controls and leaving the screen black until the user interacts with it multiple times to put it back on navigation. Require multiple presses to clear, forcing interaction while driving. Often reactivate within seconds, creating a loop of screen interference. Have triggered during merging, construction zones, heavy traffic, and when passing emergency vehicles or tow trucks, where focus is critical and lives are at risk. Occur falsely 80%+ of the time — no hazard is nearby. Cannot be disabled, according to Stellantis. These alerts violate basic safety interface principles by forcing unnecessary, repeated interaction in active driving conditions, forcing distracted driving. The system is overly aggressive, not user-configurable, and poses a significant distraction risk. Numerous owners on Ram forums have reported similar experiences, including repeated false triggers in the same areas. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this system. Stellantis should be required to: Offer a toggle to disable or limit alert pop-ups. Redesign the alerts to be non-obstructive and passive, or limit them to actual verified hazards. The vehicle was sold with oversized 35-inch tires but was never recalibrated for speedometer, odometer, or tire pressure monitoring systems. The vehicle’s speedometer reads approximately 7 mph slower than actual speed, making the odometer inaccurate as well. This affects braking, ABS, traction control, and engine timing. The door placard still lists the original 265/70R17 tires, meaning the vehicle no longer meets the safety certification indicated by the label. The dealership did not disclose these modifications. I have had two tire failures due to rubbing and unsafe fitment.

The vehicle has always had an issue with turn signal canceling the left hand turn probably fails 30/40% of the time. There was a recall on this but requires a diagnostic to be performed. This has been completed twice and didn’t fail, but service writer and tech both witnessed it not working during driving test. Problem is StarParts won’t send parts to dealer because it passes their diagnostic. After complaints to dealer now StarParts wants to run test a third time the dealer and I agree the outcome will be the same. I sent email to StarParts regional manager (Benton Kuchefskil) twice and he refuses to respond. Basically the issue is they confirm it does not function properly but they won’t repair it because it passes their diagnostics. I have been trying to get this repaired since December

On [XXX], while driving my 2023 Ram TRX, the driver’s side axle shaft failed catastrophically. Before the failure, I heard noise from the axle area, but no warning lights or indicators appeared. When the axle shaft broke, it damaged the brake line, causing immediate brake failure, putting my safety and others at risk. Had this occurred at high speeds or in traffic, the consequences could have been severe. I had the vehicle towed to I-10 Dodge Ram for inspection, where Service Advisor Ana Sepulveda denied the warranty claim. The denial was based on a superficial bumper scrape and minor scuff marks on suspension components, claiming these as “impact points.” However, these cosmetic markings do not justify axle failure, as no significant structural damage was found. An axle shaft should not fail due to a bumper scrape. This axle failure is a known issue in the TRX owner community, and many dealerships have acknowledged and approved warranty claims for similar failures. Despite this, I-10 Dodge is refusing warranty coverage without sufficient evidence, attempting to shift blame onto the customer. The failed axle shaft and damaged brake line are available for inspection. The issue has not been reviewed by law enforcement or an insurance representative, as this was a mechanical failure, not a collision. Given the serious safety risk of axle and brake failure, I urge Ram and NHTSA to investigate this widespread problem before it leads to serious injuries or fatalities. On 19 November 2024, immediately after dealer performed an oil change and accomplished recall 24V-653 and 24V729, on drive home vehicle engine shut off at a red light as normal (auto start/stop), but did not auto re-start. Had to power cycle in order to move truck. On 20 November 2024, vehicle engine shut off at a red light as normal (auto start/stop), but this time the SafeHold system engaged the parking brake and shifted the truck into park. The parking brake warning lamp illuminated. Truck would not move until the SafeHold system was manually bypassed. Surrounding traffic became impatient and took unnecessary risks to go around my truck that would not move. Immediately took truck to dealer for diagnosis and repair. On 22 November 2024, picked up truck from dealer with problem not repeatable, no repair performed. On 24 November 2024, exact same problem happened (vehicle engine shut off at a red light as normal (auto start/stop), SafeHold system engaged the parking brake and shifted the truck into park. The Issue I am having is related to the Start/Stop function in the vehicle. Under normal circumstances when Start/Stop is on, and when it engages at a stop, the engine turns off when the brake is depressed. When lifting your foot off the brake, the engine restarts and you can immediately drive forward. My concern is when I come to a stop on an incline, which is very common in the Cincinnati area. When I come to a stop on an incline and Start/Stop is on, and when it engages, the vehicle turns off as it should. As I lift my foot off the brake, the engine starts... All seems fine up to this point... However in my situation, the transmission does not engage immediately. The vehicle will rev up to about 2K RPM and about 2 seconds later the car jerks into forward motion. This happens nearly every time I come to a stop on a hill. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN ON RED... A couple times, I thought I had plenty of room to make a turn only to have another car seem to be right on top of me by the time the my vehicle transmission engaged and I started to move. I took this vehicle to a RAM dealership only to have them say the issue could not be duplicated and that it is operating as designed. I was informed to simply turn off the Start/Stop system. That is NOT a satisfactory answer, especially when there isn't a way to permanently turn the system off. Frustrated with that dealership, I currently have it at another dealership and am currently being told a similar story, but was also told that it can be normal for it to take a couple seconds for all systems to begin talking to each other once the vehicle restarts. Not satisfied with that answer, I am going on a test drive with them tomorrow morning. If the answer is in fact that this issue is as designed, then there should be a large warning label on the dash to TURN OFF START/STOP ON HILLS or the software updated so Start/Stop does not engage on inclines.

I had an single vehicle accident while visiting Oregon that I have not been able to explain. I have a 2023 Ram Eco Diesel that has a newly issued recall for the Electronic Stability Control failing. My vehicle left the road way and down an embankment after braking for some Wildlife crossing. When I applied the brakes my vehicle went off the left side of the road. The brakes never locked up. After the accident occurred my Electronic Stability Control warning light stayed on, and my Four Wheel Drive unavailable warning light came on as well. My Truck is still undecided as to weather it is totaled or not. It is sitting in a local repair shop waiting on further diagnosis. I had the accident in late August (XXX) and this new ESC recall was sent out and received in early October (03). I think my accident has now been explained. I am having some minor back pain, neck pain and dizziness from my neck stiffness but do not feel painfully injured. But this accident has caused me a whole lot of aggravation. I had to leave my travel trailer in Oregon. I had to pay storage for my travel trailer for a year. $1000. I had to pay for enough repairs to get my vehicle home. $500. I am without a vehicle for, well, nobody knows how long. I will be sending a copy of the recall to my State Farm Claims team. Can I file a lawsuit against Stallantis? (Ram)? The vehicle was taken to the residence and then to a dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. During the second occasion, while driving up a bridge, the vehicle lost automotive power and the vehicle decelerated to 28 MPH. The vehicle then coasted down the bridge, and it was pulled over to the side of the road, turned off, and restarted. The check engine warning light became illuminated. The vehicle was parked for several hours during a class, the vehicle was restarted and reset independently, and the warning light was no longer illuminated. Just before I was completely stopped at a red light, the engine died, the transmission shifted to park, and the emergency brake was set. After several minutes and several attempts, the engine started and I was able to drive it home. The only indication something was wrong was the “Check Engine” light was on. That light was off the next morning. I took it to the local Ram dealer to be checked out. The result of the computer diagnosis was “Nonplausable codes.” They said there was nothing they could do. Our fear was (and remains) is that this might happen again while driving at a higher speed in heavy traffic. That could possibly cause serious injury or death, or both. Due to that serious concern, we took it back to the dealer and ask them to keep it for a while to see if it happened with them. While they had it, different personnel drove it over 400 miles, but the problem was not reproduced. Also, no recall has been issued for this model truck. However, there has been a recall for other models with the Etorque engine because of unexpected stalling. We are concerned every time we drive it. In fact, my wife will not drive it nor take the grandkids anywhere in it.

I brought the 'new to me' truck to the dealership 2 weeks after purchase to address a known recall and a Customer Satisfaction Notification. The latter related to the PCM software to address an issue of staling (08A). No problems were experienced before the service nor were any services noted on the Carfax for stalling before purchase. Four days after the recall and Customer Satisfaction Notice were addressed, I approached a stop sign with intentions to turn right. I slowed, but not to a complete stop, as I could see that no one was approaching from either direction and rolled thru the stop. I took my foot off the gas as I slowed (guessing to 3 mph) and applied the brake to make the turn when the engine stalled and engaged the parking brake and flashers. I was able to restart the vehicle following the dash instructions, however, this could have been a disaster if someone had been coming from my left of an impatient driver was behind me. The issue has not recurred since happening 3 days ago and the vehicle was taken to the dealership today (records of original visit and second visit attached). No warning message or sounds before the incident. Auto start/stop was turned on at the time.

Check engine light blinks on and off intermittently, vehicle shakes and feels as if it’s going to stall. From time to time when going to accelerate I pulled out on a main roads and the vehicle lost all power my kids and I flew forward. While idling at a red light, the vehicle started to shake as if it was going to stall and jerked forward and hit the car in front of me. I brought this to the attention of the dealer. I purchased it from and They stated they cannot find any issues. I have pictures and videos of the check engine light coming on in intermittently. I also called when it lost power, pulling into the intersection. This all should be recorded with Jerry Ulm dealer in Tampa.
