Reported consequence: A detached bottle cap can become a projectile and strike the user or others nearby, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the tire repair kit nozzle or sealant bottle, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed July 27, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in Fall 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is DOV. NHTSA #11735850

Steering was fixed in October 2023 we had purchased car in May of that year. The issue has returned except it feels now like the steering is moving on its own. This is the first time since repair this issue was noticed. This is very concerning. I have notified Honda. Dealer to date has not seen car they want to charge me to examiner vehicle which is still under warranty, which is why I called Honda. I told dealer I was concerned enough not to want to drive vehicle.

This is regarding the earlier recall where drivers can feel a clicking noise in steering wheel, I did my recall year ago and this issue is resurfacing again. I reported this to dealer this week and I was said they will replace the parts since it's under warranty. But I wanted to report this issue. Is there a permanent fix?

NHTSA #11732260

The stirring wheel very stiff it's hard to drive smoothly.

NHTSA #11675833

Steering was stiff and difficult to handle car on turns. Lots of extra effort required when deviating from center. Overcorrection could easily cause an accident. Vehicle was recently acquired by dealership from auction. It needs to be added to the recall list.

NHTSA #11656672

As I'm turning at curve the steering locks up and sticks and I have to use a both hands to stay in my lane. You can easily hit a car turning the curve next to you when the steering locks up. I took it to dealer and they knew about having these issues from other CR-V and they said it's the steering rack. pinion. No lights or warning turn on when this happens. Other honda owners on reddit were having the same issues. It's where I found out I can put a complaint so this issue can be reviewed.

NHTSA #11654232

When turning on a curve the steering locks up/sticks for about 2 or 3 seconds and then it unlocks. When it locks up I could unlock it by using a bit of force to unlock/unstick it before it does by itself. I took to dealer and they say I need the whole steering rack. I have done research on this issue and I saw lots of 2023 crv owners are reporting the same issues. There is a recall to replace steering spring and to lubricate. But this recall issue is affecting cr-v whole rack and it should be in the recall. Honda did not make the steering properly and its causing many steering issues. There should be a recall on all steering issues. I currently have to drive my car with this issue because I don't have $4k for a new rack which is what they told me at dealer it cost. My crv is less than 2 years old and I should not be experiencing a issue like this and operating this vehicle which is not safe because Honda did not manufacture steering components correctly.

NHTSA #11656977

My vehicle, 2023 CRV was purchased through here. Now it has a major Recall and they have been giving me the run around since while we drive an UNSAFE vehicle. As it states, “Due to the improperly manufactured electronic power steering (EPS) gearbox worm wheel and improperly set worm gear spring, friction between the worm wheel and worm gear can rise, resulting in additional steering effort and difficulty, increasing the risk of a crash or serious injury.” I reached out 3 times and was lied too about part not being there. Just talked to Honda, they said part has been available for 2 month now. This is supposed to be done within 60 days, but I haven’t heard back for 5 to 6 months now. Everytime I call, there is no supervisor available and all techs are busy. I have 3 kids that ride in this car and need it fixed asap

NHTSA #11647513

Steering sticks when driving on the road, like it has worn tooth in a gear. You can feel it in the steering wheel. It also makes the car drift from side to side. The vehicle wants to wander on the roadway.

NHTSA #11645408

The steering wheel in my 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring is "sticking" when going around wide turns on the highway. This issue is not experienced while driving around city streets. It feels like the steering wheel gently locks into place, but can easily be dislodged by giving it a little more turning pressure. The sticking sensation feels as though it has progressively been getting more pronounced in the past few months. This would certainly become a major safety issue if the steering wheel locks up completely at highway speeds. I have contacted the Honda Service Center at my local dealership regarding this issue. No warning lamps or messages appear on the dashboard and the latest Vehicle Health Report which I receive via email every month reports no issues.

NHTSA #11646353

My car steering well gets randomly stuck for seconds at a time, Honda has failed to comply and help us get the steering wheel recall done since October 2024 and now February 2025. They keep saying we are on the list and they will send us a letter home or to keep waiting 12-15 days but there is no real help from Honda.

NHTSA #11643474

My vehicle had the steering rack replaced in April 2024 after several visits to the Honda service center for "sticky steering". The vehicle showed improvement and was driven an additional 5-6k miles but then started having the same issue as before, the steering felt tight and got tighter the longer it was driven. Returned vehicle to Honda service center where they performed recall 23V-704 / YFW in Dec 2024. Again, there was an improvement but after driving another 5-6k, steering started getting tight again, the longer it is driven the tighter it gets. Returned vehicle to Honda Service center in February 2025 and was advised the could not find anything wrong and could not replicate the issue after driving 10 miles. There is definitely something "wrong" with the steering but Honda refuses to acknowledge this is still an issue for my specific CRV.

I had an appointment today with Southern motors Honda in Savannah, Georgia at 9 AM. Due to a snowstorm yesterday they were unable to do the repair today. We were not notified of this and my husband drove an hour in icy conditions to get this recall repaired. They told him they do not know when they can get the repair done. When I called on Tuesday to try to reschedule due to the incoming snowstorm, she replied that someone will call me because their recalls schedules were out as far as June. Meaning I would not be able to get the repair done until June. I asked her if my car was still safe to drive and she said she could not confirm that. No one returned my call. I will be driving my car on Saturday to go on vacation in Florida. Will my car be OK to drive? The manufacturer is unable to complete my EPS gearbox worm wheel recall work within 60 days and am filing a complaint per the instructions on the letter. The Honda dealer I contacted was Brookdale Honda in Brookdale Minnesota.

NHTSA #11637077

I brought my 2023 Honda CR-V into my local dealership on December 7, 2024 to address a “creaking” noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. Upon checking in with the service adviser, I was advised that my vehicle had 2 active safety recalls - the fuel pump, and the EPS gear box. I received an email from the dealership with an “inspection video” attached. Within the video, the technician states, “As far as the noise concern that you’re having, the only creaking noise I was able to hear, was the noise from the electronic brake motor, which is a normal characteristic of this vehicle… couldn’t find anything else going on”. Upon picking up my vehicle, I was advised the same by the service adviser, and was further advised that someone would be calling me as soon as the part came in to fix the EPS recall. On January 17, 2025, I called the dealership to inquire about when they anticipated on being able to fix the recall, as it had been approximately 6 weeks since I was advised that someone would be calling me when the part arrived. During this phone call, I was advised that the part had been steadily in stock for the past couple of weeks, and that I could bring in my vehicle anytime to fix the recall. On January 18, 2025, I brought my vehicle back to the dealership for the repair of the recall, and further explained to the service adviser that I was still hearing the “creaking” noise, as well as a “metallic” clicking noise coming from the steering wheel upon hard left turns. Approximately 5 hours later, I received a call from the service adviser explaining that the technician was able to identify both noises that I had described, and while they were able to replace the recalled part, it did not resolve the issue, and that my vehicle was in need of a steering rack replacement. She further explained that they were not authorized to replace the steering rack under the terms of the safety recall, and that the part is not covered under the factory warranty.

NHTSA #11637473

I received 1st recall notice in Nov 2025. Part has been unavailable until now. Received email from dealer on 1/15/25 saying part was available and to schedule appt for repair. I called and next appointment was on 3/31/25. This is more than the 60 days allowed in the original recall notice. The car is unsafe to drive in its current condition and we don't have alternative transportation for this driver. What recourse do we have?

NHTSA #11637023

I received this Recall Notice in November 2023. I called my local dealer & was told that I would be put on a list & they would call when the parts came in. I contacted them again today & was told it would be “months” as the parts were coming in slowly. I contacted the American Honda Customer Support. They contacted David McDavid Honda in Frisco, TX and I was told they had the repair kit and it was being held for me. They transferred me to David McDavid Honda and spoke to Marissa in their Service Dept. Marissa told me they did NOT have the part after all.

NHTSA #11635854

I can't control the car properly, because I need to turn the car too much, this is due to the pending market recall and the dealer doesn't fix the problem., they just give excuses, and it's been 5 months and fix the problem.

NHTSA #11652144

The steering wheel of my vehicle becomes tight while driving and sticks when turned, especially at higher speeds. At slower speeds, a slight turn to the left or right will result in increased resistance and a “bump” as the steering comes back to center. At higher speeds, the steering wheel is tight and almost feels stuck at center. Once the wheel is turned is will briefly stick in that position and has to forcefully be returned to center. This sometimes results in almost overcorrecting while driving. The steering is loose when the car is in park or at a stop, but once in motion there is a distinct difference, to the point of causing a sore neck/shoulders from holding the wheel.

It feels difficult to steer at times, almost takes more effort. I am concerned it will continue becoming more difficult and result in an accident. Yes it’s available for inspection. Being unable to steer properly puts my safety, passengers safety, and the safety of my surroundings at risk. Unsure if it’s been reproduced at a service center. It has been inspected, not for this issue. There are absolutely no warning lamps or symptoms prior.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Failure to Perform Recall Repair on Honda CR-V Hybrid Issue Description: On [XXX], I purchased a Honda CR-V Hybrid on credit from a dealership in Weston, Florida. In November 2024, I was informed that my vehicle was included in a Honda recall campaign due to a defect affecting its safe operation. I repeatedly contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle, but they informed me that the necessary replacement parts were not available. They promised to call me once the parts arrived, but from November 2024 to March 2025 (more than 4 months), I have not been given the opportunity to schedule the repair. As of today, the dealership has failed to take any action to remedy the defect, which violates my rights and poses a safety risk to the operation of my vehicle. Request for Action: I request that the NHTSA: Investigate this matter and require the dealership to perform the necessary repairs within a reasonable timeframe. Clarify my rights in this situation, including whether I am entitled to a vehicle replacement or a loaner car while waiting for the repair. I urge you to take action, as operating a vehicle with defective parts may present a safety hazard. While driving the vehicle on the highway, the steering wheel feels like it gets stuck. It seems to happen after driving for a while, and every time I have to steer just a little bit, I have to move the steering wheel slightly to get it to unstuck. There are no warning lights showing. I just received a recall notice in the mail, called my Honda dealer, and they don’t have the parts right now. This definitely affects the way the car handles. I did not notice this when I drove it in the summer, but I sure notice it now.

We purchased the vehicle as demo from Honda dealer 2023. At about 9000 miles, noticed that while in a gradual curve on an interstate, there was a noticeable ‘stick and bump’ when making a minor steering correction. I likened it to pushing a straw through a lid – extra force needed then a sudden release. The force needed to overcome the stick was minor – only an ounce or so – but noticeable and disconcerting. I do not experience the issues at slower speeds nor in park and turning the steering wheel. I went to a local Honda dealer (not the dealer from whom we purchased the car) with a copy of t TSB 23-037 in hand. When I explained the issue to a Service Advisor, they had me drive with a tech in car. He said they had a stop sell order on many cars on their lot and parts were on backorder. I mentioned the sticky steering and he told me it just needs grease. Left car after drive and received text that car was ready. Asked if they were replacing gearbox and texted to me "Not replaced, there is an open recall on the vehicle having to do with insufficient grease in the steering gearbox from the factory. He performed the recall using a special tool to insert more grease" The recall does state there is a spring that should be replaced also. They did not mention that and Im concerned the tech told me the solution while in the car with me before diagnosing the issue I was having. My concern is the wheel 'breaking' left of right in and out of a turn at high speeds with winter approaching.

I read about a recall for my vehicle's fuel pump and called Coggin Honda in St Augustine, Florida on Nov 1, 2024. They did not have the parts in to remedy the situation. Today (Nov 22, 2024) I received a notice from Honda (Corporate in Torrence, CA), that another recall has occurred. Once again, I called Honda near me, and once again, these parts are not in. I need to complain that these recalls are considered dangerous and Coggin Honda is not helping remedy the situations in a time manner. I want to go on record to record the dates I contacted Honda for these very important recalls.

A week ago the steering system started malfunctioning on my 2023 Honda CR-V. While driving on straight and level highways at between 35 to 60 mph, the steering wheel seems to be "sticking" or encountering an obstruction causing occasional overcorrection resulting in almost hitting traffic in the adjacent lane, especially on narrow roads. There are no warning lights or messages related to this condition.

On 12/19/2025 my car was parked at my place of work between 12pm and 1pm my back window suddenly shattered from the middle of the window. I have seen other reports of Honda HRV having the same issues as well as some other CRV owners from recalls for HRV and online forums of CRV owners reporting the same issue with sudden back window combustion. I contacted Honda and several different departments to report this.

On [XXX], at approximately [XXX]. I was traveling down the [XXX] . It was a clear morning and the traffic was light. There were no warning signs or messages displayed prior to the glass shattering. It was startling as I was going 70-75 mph when this happened. While driving my 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport on the morning of [XXX], the sunroof glass exploded. After the dealerships inspection, I was informed that repairs were not covered by warranty or recall. As stated previously it was a clear morning, the traffic was light and there was nothing near me that could have dropped on my roof and shattered my sunroof. I have included pictures for your review. On 9/15/25 at 11:30am I spoke to Honda Corporation customer service. I was informed that at this time there is no open warrantee for this issue. She stated it had been reported to Honda. Subject: Vehicle Theft Due to Security Vulnerability – 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Vehicle Information: • Make: Honda • Model: CR-V Hybrid AWD • Year: 2023 Description of the Problem: I am reporting a serious security vulnerability in my 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid, which was stolen [XXX] from a residential parking lot in Bayside Queens, NY. The theft occurred despite the vehicle being locked and parked in my parking area. The theft method likely involved bypassing the CAN bus system, a known vulnerability in modern vehicles. Honda later issued a product improvement notice regarding enhanced anti-theft software, which I received(8/26/25) after the incident. This suggests that the manufacturer was aware of the security flaw but did not proactively notify owners or offer preventive upgrades before thefts occurred. Will Impact: • Financial loss due to theft and insurance deductibles • Emotional distress and ongoing safety concerns • Time-consuming police and insurance procedures • Lack of timely manufacturer support or warning • Police report (NYPD case number: [XXX]) I urge NHTSA to investigate the security vulnerabilities in Honda CR-V Hybrid models, particularly regarding CAN bus access and lack of proactive anti-theft measures. I also request that Honda be required to issue formal recalls or mandatory software updates to prevent further thefts asap. MY 2023 Honda CRV sport hybrid has an issue, I guess it’s transmission. When I go for long drives, after driving an hour or hour an half in highway, it seemed like, transmission stuck. Even though I escalated my gas pedal and car is on around 50mph, the car speed doesn’t go up even though rpm is hitting on 75 to 80. It’s dangerous to drive in highway where speed limit is 65 mph and my car is going 50 mph. I went to dealer but they can’t figure out the issue. I face same issue in multiple times.

Visibility/Wiper8 complaints

Windshield wipers have inconsistent force causing it to hit the pillars of of the driver side periodically. Damage could occur to both the arm and the vehicle frame due to repeated impact. Visibility is also affected since the wiper does not clear all of the rain water and causes chattering.

NHTSA #11725694

The vehicle was backed into a parking spot in the last row of a parking lot; no one would be behind the vehicle. It was parked for 2 days and upon returning to it, the rear window was broken. A hole about the size of 2 fists was present, along with a horizontal crack from the hole to the edge of the frame. Up until this break, there was no indication of any issue with the window/glass.

NHTSA #11717494

The wiper blades fail to go to the edge of the window on the driver's side. It leaves a gap of about 2-3 inches from the edge of the window pillar uncleaned. In heavy rain or snow/ice or in the case of cleaning a dirty windshield, this gap limits the driver's visibility while driving. Also, having the windshield wiper fluid come out of the blades rather than spraying directly onto the windshield is useless as the fluid comes out while the wipers are half way up and fluid then gets pushed off the windshield and flows down the driver's side window again affecting the driver's visibility.

NHTSA #11712597

Wiper fluid is not disbursed from wiper blades until blades are in full LEFT swipe position. No fluid is disbursed on the way up to that left position, so all fluid from driver side wiper blades goes off the side of windshield or just pools there. Very little fluid from the passenger side blade goes onto windshield in front of driver. There is no way to get fluid on passenger side of windshield, since fluid comes from top of blade, which is pointing left in straight up position when fluid is disbursed. This is a terrible design. I run out of fluid frequently and cannot see to drive is messy, Ohio winters. This happens each time I use the wiper fluid, not just on the random January date I selected.

NHTSA #11720959

The windshield wipers do not clear the windshield completely and the reversing point for the drivers side wiper is inconsistent, leaving a wide uncleared gap of varying widths. Honda dealership says this is normal and will no repair the wipers.

As my car was warming up, I was standing near the driver door and hear a *tink* noise. When I got into the car, I saw that my driver side mirror had a single vertical crack straight down the middle. There was no point of impact and when I first approached my car not even 5 minutes prior, the mirror was perfectly intact. For all intents and purposes, the mirror has spontaneously cracked. The dealership I took it to has refused to replace the mirror under warranty although my car is less than two years old and only has 10000 miles. The crack distorts visibility considerably. Service Brakes,Forward Collision Avoidance7 complaints

I was driving on the freeway on Saturday 5/23/26 when a helium balloon flew into my lane. The vehicle suddenly applied maximum braking on its own without any dashboard warning, alert sound, or driver notification. It was so severe the tires were screeching. The accelerator was unresponsive for several seconds before I was able to accelerate again. This created a dangerous situation because I could have been rear-ended by another car.

NHTSA #11739957

While driving on the freeway in the rain (on 2/19/2026), my vehicle started braking of its own accord. Emergency brake lights flashed on the dash board and the vehicle came to a full stop while traffic was moving on the freeway. [There had been previous incidents of warning "Brake" lights flashing without cause, never a sudden stop; spontaneous]. During my <15 mile commute, the vehicle did this x5 times. After the 4th incident, a new pop up warning appeared: "Collision Mitigation braking system problem. See your dealer. " I took a photo of this warning light and drove to the closest dealership. The unwarranted braking problem happened again while on the freeway. When I arrived at the dealership, at first they said "there's no problem. " I showed them the photo, they reluctantly checked in my vehicle for diagnostics and informed me that I would have to pay for the diagnostician. The safety of myself and other California drivers was put at risk by this malfunctioning braking system. I was unable to over ride a warning, the vehicle braked unexpectedly in the middle of the freeway. Mossy Honda dealership did not offer me a loaner vehicle nor a ride home. When I asked, I was told that they might be able to rent a vehicle to me if someone was still around to do so. Cost =$50/ day. I lost a day of work to deal with this issue. I had to call the dealership for an update. The vehicle was inspected by a certified Honda technician at Mossy Honda of Lemon Grove. The technician informed me that Honda's policy is to realign the system. The honda technician asked if the vehicle was recently hauling a heavy load that could have ruined the alignment. I have not. It seems the dealership wants to blame me for this safety issue. If there are follow up issues, I am advised to return to the dealership for assistance. The dealership did not offer a ride, nor apologies. They have not provided an updated Cost estimate for this alignment or any needed follow up repairs.

All my idiot lights appeared on my dashboard. My mechanic plugged in and nothing came up so I took it to White Plains Honda on Aug.5. They called me on Aug.14 and said my brake booster was bad. On Aug 26 Honda NA said that they can’t help me. My car is at Honda CRV Sport Hybrid 2023 with 47,440 miles on it. I’m over the 3 year or 36,000 miles and I do not have an extended warranty. Urgent Safety Concern – 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Engine Defect: I am writing to report a serious safety concern involving my 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid related to a manufacturer defect that has not been properly resolved. My vehicle experienced an issue where engine oil leaked into the engine and spark plugs due to a defect. As a result, I received a critical dashboard warning instructing me to “stop vehicle immediately.” This created a dangerous situation and placed me at risk while driving. Although the issue was later identified as a manufacturer defect, it was not properly addressed when I initially reported engine shaking concerns in 2025. The problem escalated over time and ultimately led to this failure.Despite attempts to repair the vehicle, I continue to experience engine-related issues, including ongoing shaking. I have made multiple efforts to resolve this through the dealership and American Honda, but my concerns have not been adequately addressed. This vehicle is my only means of transportation, and the unresolved defect presents a continued safety risk not only to me but potentially to other drivers. I am concerned that similar issues may be affecting other 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid vehicles. I am requesting assistance in reviewing this matter as a potential safety issue and ensuring appropriate accountability and resolution.

In February 2025 with around 56k miles, started noticing a vibration which I thought was a wheel balancing issue. After having the wheels balanced multiple times. I also replaced the tires twice but the vibration still persists. I started noticing the vibration became more consistent at low speeds 20-23 mph. At this time I am now out of engine warranty. It felt like a bad torque converter, which this vehicle doesn’t have. I brought the vehicle to three different dealerships and they all said the car has no issues. At no point did the car throw a check engine light or code. About five days after visiting the last dealership in October 2025 I was headed to work. Once the engine kicks in there was a loud rattling noise coming from the engine for about 5 seconds then it went away. Now every time the car sits, the first time the engine kicks in is rattles for a few seconds. At no point there were any check engine lights. I took the car back to the dealership and the determined that the injectors and head gasket failed. Not having a check engine light coming on for this issue could have caused an accident if the engine stalled on the highway. Honda would not assist in anyway.

I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the reliability of my 2023 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid, which I purchased with approximately 10,000 miles on it. The vehicle currently has around 85,000 miles and has already required major, unexpected repairs — most notably a head gasket failure, in addition to other mechanical issues earlier this year that totaled $2,000 out of pocket. The fact that a relatively new Honda with an excellent service history and primarily highway miles would require a head gasket replacement this early in its lifespan is extremely troubling and calls into question the long-term reliability of the CR-V Hybrid platform. While I appreciate that Honda agreed to cover the head gasket repair through a goodwill arrangement, this situation has caused me considerable stress, financial hardship, and a loss of confidence in the vehicle — and, frankly, in Honda’s reputation for durability. Further compounding this frustration, the vehicle has recently begun exhibiting renewed roughness and vibration at various speeds, despite recent service, and I remain worried that I’m going to be saddled with ongoing problems that I should never have had to deal with on a vehicle this new. As a loyal Honda customer, I expected better. I chose this vehicle specifically for its reputation, fuel efficiency, and dependability. What I’ve experienced instead feels like a breakdown of quality control and corporate accountability. I am now significantly upside down on a vehicle that I can no longer rely on with confidence — yet I cannot afford to walk away from it.

Structure5 complaints

Hood wobbles crazy while driving highway speed as if it is going to open or come out. Seem the outer panel of hood has rust by the joints where it is joined to the inner panel of the hood. Almost all the joints seem to be not joined well together. This is a structural body issue, car is less than 3 years old. And Currently I have about 55K miles on it. Noticed the hood wobble when it had less than 30,000 miles but upon checking under the hood there were no visible signs of defect. But recently(51K mile roughly) after a car wash I opened the hood to see the inside of the car, that's when I noticed that the hood inner joints have rust and are not joint together properly with inner panel of the hood. Reached out to the dealership but they deny to fix this as it has been more than 36000 miles. At the dealership there was another person with 2025 Honda crv, I checked with the owner to let me see if his car had similar issue or not. Upon checking the hood his car's one of the joint was loose ( given that car is less than an year old so there was no rust.) Seems Honda is used some adhesive to stick the metal panels of the hood together which start to deteriorate over time. There are many crv owners who are having similar issue but the dealership resolves the issue for them given that they have less than 36000 miles on it. Honda does have "Rust Perforation Limited warranty" which is valid until 5 years, But for them to fix the car there has to be rust perforation aka hole in the panel inside out to fix it. Does this mean I have to wait for another 2 years and 5 months for the rust to progress and cause a hole in the panel inside out?? What if i start seeing the rust perforation right after 5 years. Honda will fix this for me or I have to pay out of my pocket to get it fixed. Also my car has never been in any kind of accident, it has the panel which came from the Honda Factory. Also it is not a flood vehicle either for it to start getting rust. Please see attached pics.

NHTSA #11642623

(1) Recall Summary American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling specific 2023-2025 CR-V vehicles due to a defect in the steering gearbox worm wheel. This improperly produced component may swell during use, which compromises the grease film thickness between the worm wheel and worm gear. Furthermore, the worm gear's spring preload was set too high, escalating the sliding force between these parts. Consequently, the combination of reduced grease film and increased friction leads to greater resistance during steering. Safety Risk The heightened friction between the worm gear and worm wheel results in increased steering effort and difficulty, significantly elevating the risk of a crash or injury. (2) Recall Summary American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is urgently recalling certain 2023-2025 multi-model year Honda vehicles due to critical defects in the high-pressure fuel pump. The improper production has led to the formation of cracks at the solenoid core component, which can result in a dangerous fuel leak during operation, especially in lower mileage vehicles. Safety Risk The presence of a fuel leak poses an extreme risk, as it can ignite in the presence of an ignition source. This scenario significantly heightens the risk of fire, crash, or serious injury, demanding immediate attention and action. I contacted the American Findlay Honda Management Department in Henderson, Nevada, only to be hit with a stark refusal; they will not place me in a new 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring. As a long-time customer, I felt utterly bewildered and crushed by this response. Just weeks ago, they aggressively pushed this specific vehicle to me, fully aware that significant recalls were on the horizon. This is not just terrible news—it’s a blatant betrayal by management! I am seriously contemplating legal action against American Honda and Findlay Honda in Henderson, Nevada. Their actions scream deceit and predation; they are nothing less than crooks and sharks

Since then I have visited & contacted Honda Carland Roswell numerous times but everytime I get the answer the parts are not available. It's been 2 months & they can't guarantee the availability also. When pressed further their only response is contact Honda. Is there any regulations where once the safety recall is issued it should be completed immediately. Theft of this component renders federally marketed safety systems inoperable and results in dashboard warnings and loss of active safety features. Replacement and required recalibration costs are extremely high, commonly reported between $1,500 and $2,500. This issue is caused by exposed placement and lack of theft deterrence for a critical safety component, not by vehicle misuse or modification. Similar thefts are being reported by other owners, indicating a widespread design vulnerability that allows essential safety systems to be disabled through simple theft.

The millimeter wave radar has failed. While using adaptive cruise control the vehicle set off many alarms without prior warning. The vehicle suddenly showed that adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, road departure mitigation, frontal collision, low speed parking were no longer functioning and to see a dealer. I was not using frontal collision no road departure mitigation as these features had twice before unexpectedly applied heavy breaking without warning with no obstructions near vehicle. Fortunately no accident occurred but very unnerving to say the least. The dealer has confirmed that the millimeter wave radar has failed and will need replaced. Honda sensing is not very reliable and should be used with caution if used at all

On several occasions the automatic emergency braking system on my vehicle has engaged for no reason. The vehicle applies the brake quickly with nothing in front or to the side of the vehicle. This sudden braking has almost caused me to be rear ended and has also caused a slight case of whiplash. I’ve contacted my Honda dealer and while they say they’ve had complaints I am told there’s nothing in the works to remedy the issue. I was told to clean my vehicle front sensors (which were not dirty at the time of these instances) and that’s all I could do. This has happened multiple times throughout my ownership of this vehicle with the last incident occurring in late September of this year.

The Transmission mount failed and the transmission was loose and clunking around in the vehicle when I applied the breaks and occasionally when I accelerated. The car has less than 50K miles and the transmission mount should not fail. There was no accident or rust and no reason for it to fail. I believe it is a safety hazard that Honda should do a recall or at least cover the cost of the repair.

Traveling interstate at 80 mph 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid with 15,500 miles had a critical power failure, and warning lights to stop vehicle as soon as safe. We had the car towed and went to Honda dealer in (Community Honda) in Lafayette, LA (traveling). At times, the steering wheel becomes hard to turn exactly like changing lanes when the lane assist is on. This occurs when lane assist is off!

NHTSA #11740020

Yesterday, Thursday February 29, 2026, the steering wheel and/or lane assist feature of my 2023 Honda CRV Sport Hybrid seemed to try to force my car over a cliff on a mountain road. I was driving from Crystal Mountain Ski Resort in Washington state returning to my home in Seattle WA when the steering wheel of my Honda seemed to stiffened or lock up at a curve in Crystal Mountain Blvd several miles from the ski resort. At the curve in the road I needed to turn left to avoid driving over a steep mountain embankment and the steering wheel required unusual force to turn left. Steering was problematic for the next 40 miles on State Route 410 driving northwest toward Enumclaw WA. I had to fight the steering wheel continuously as it seemed to direct the car left and right when the path of the road was straight. Unusual force was needed to control the steering. It felt like the car was being forced by the steering to move in directions that did not follow the course of the road. There was a sense of lack of control of the steering wheel, and in the instance of the curve in the road coming down the mountain, it felt like the car was trying to drive over a cliff. It was a sense of loss of control, and that the car was by itself driving off the road.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to report a serious safety concern with my 2023 Honda CR-V All-Wheel Drive, regular gasoline version. On three separate occasions while driving at high speed on the highway, my vehicle suddenly lost power and the engine stalled without warning. When this occurred, the starter would not engage, the vehicle had no electrical power, and multiple warning messages appeared on the dashboard, including Emission System Problem and All-Wheel Drive System Problem. This type of sudden stall while driving at highway speed creates an extremely dangerous situation and puts both the driver and other motorists at serious risk. I am aware that Honda has issued fuel pump recalls for the 2023 CR-V Hybrid models. However, my vehicle is the regular gasoline version, and based on my experience, I strongly believe that a similar fuel pump defect exists in these models as well. I respectfully request that this issue be investigated as a potential safety defect, and that Honda initiates a recall for the regular gasoline CR-V models to address this problem.

Exterior Lighting2 complaints

Vehicle: 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring (OEM headlights; no aftermarket lighting modifications) Issue Type: Exterior Lighting – Headlights (low-beam performance/visibility) Description of Problem: I am submitting a safety complaint regarding the low-beam headlights on my 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring. The low beams provide poor foreground illumination and create a distinct dark area directly in front of the vehicle. In real-world nighttime driving, the beam pattern leaves an obvious “dead zone”/shadowed region in the near-field (close to the front of the car), which reduces my ability to see road hazards, debris, pedestrians/animals, and lane-edge detail in time to react safely. The problem is most noticeable on unlit roads and in wet conditions, where the lack of usable light in the foreground makes it difficult to judge road surface changes and identify objects near the vehicle’s path. The cutoff/beam pattern appears abnormal in that the area immediately ahead is not properly lit despite the headlights being on and functioning. This is not related to dirty lenses, aftermarket bulbs, or modifications. Safety Impact: This headlight performance issue reduces forward visibility at night and increases the risk of a collision because hazards in the roadway may not be visible until the vehicle is very close. The dark zone in front of the vehicle is consistent and repeatable, not an occasional flicker or intermittent failure. Low-Speed Navigation: When making turns into unlit driveways or onto dark side streets, the area where the vehicle is turning remains pitch black, making it impossible to see pedestrians, cyclists, or road obstacles. Object Avoidance: At highway speeds, the "dark zone" prevents the driver from seeing road debris or potholes until they are directly under the vehicle, leaving zero time for evasive maneuvers. Headlights are original equipment and the vehicle has not been modified.

NHTSA #11716835

Vehicle: 2023 Honda CR-V EX-L Problem: Headlights – poor visibility Complaint Description: The LED headlights on my 2023 Honda CR-V EX-L provide inadequate illumination at night. The beam is shadowy with dark zones, making it difficult to see pedestrians, signs, and road hazards, especially in rainy conditions. Even after checking alignment, the visibility remains unsafe. Other drivers often flash their high beams at me, mistaking my lights for being too dim or misaligned. This design presents a significant nighttime driving hazard.

Power Train,Vehicle Speed Control2 complaints

First incident. 9/20/2025: car went forward when gear shift was in reverse. I had pulled my car into space on a slight incline in a parking garage. The space inclined downward toward a wall. I needed to back my car back a few inches away from the wall. I put my car into Reverse and applied light pressure on the accelerator. The car moved forward. I applied the brake, visually inspected the shift lever to make sure it was in reverse, and applied light acceleration again. Again the car moved forward. I put the car in Park, turned it off, restarted it, and put it into Reverse again, at which point it worked. Second incident, 9/24/2025: car lurched forward when I removed my foot from the accelerator. In a different parking garage, on level ground, I was driving under 7 MPH when I needed to slow down as another car approached from the side. I lifted my foot off the accelerator to slow (but had not applied the brake) and the car lurched forward. I braked, took my foot off the brake, and the car worked normally. These incidents put my car at risk of collision with a wall and another car coming toward me, respectively. The system is available for inspection on request. It has not yet been inspected by anyone, but is scheduled to go to the dealer for inspection. I did not see any messages or warning lamps.

I own a 2023 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid and have experienced multiple instances of sudden unintended acceleration. The issue occurs intermittently, typically at low speeds (25–30 mph) during stop-and-go traffic, or when the vehicle transitions from EV to gas mode. During these incidents, the vehicle unexpectedly surges forward for 1–2 seconds, even while the brake pedal is applied. The suspected issue involves the electronic throttle control system or a malfunction during the hybrid system's EV-to-gas transition. There are no warning lights or error codes, and the issue occurs sporadically. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This behavior puts both my safety and that of others at risk, especially in heavy traffic or near pedestrians. The unexpected acceleration while braking can lead to rear-end collisions, property damage, or injury, as the vehicle moves unpredictably. Yes. A Honda service technician experienced the issue firsthand while driving my vehicle. He then tested a 2025 CR-V Hybrid and reported similar behavior, suggesting it might be “normal.” However, I strongly disagree, as the acceleration feels unsafe and abnormal. The vehicle has been inspected by the Honda dealership. A formal diagnosis was performed, but they did not find anything unusual. The service center stated they will not proceed further unless I can replicate the issue, which I cannot due to its intermittent nature. The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance, or independent mechanics yet. No. There were no warning lamps, alerts, or error messages before, during, or after the sudden acceleration events.

Power Train,Fuel/Propulsion System2 complaints

In early August 2025, driving on the highway with my car behaving entirely normally, my entire dashboard lit up-- all error lights, check engine, transmission, emissions, blind spot- everything. After reading on the internet a bit i read that there could have been a 12v battery power surge, and to disconnect and reconnect the battery. All lights cleared, car behaved normally. During the last week of August, my car began revving unreasonably high on a long drive (at the 300 mile point) and it seemed as though gears were slipping- I was hitting the gas to accelerate and the car was not accelerating equally. This is a huge safety concern- particularly when going uphill on a highway and the car can just barely make it up the hill (i'm basically flooring the gas) and also a safety concern when switching lanes- the power is not there. I went to the dealer immediately after this. The dealer ran error codes and found none (as no lights returned). The dealer checked my spark plugs and said they were worn and replaced them (which is unreasonable at 21,000 miles). The problem was not resolved. I have since gone to two additional Honda dealers and both told me there is nothing wrong with the car- because no error codes appeared. I believe these problems are related to the eCVT as others have reported, and believe that the recall needs to be expanded.

The windshield wipers do not remove water and always leave a film. This film will not go away with defrost, extra cleaning, washer fluid. I replaced the blades and still the reflective film remains. It is extremely hazardous to drive because all light reflects off the film and horribly impairs vision. Honda refuses responsibility. Also, the washer fluid does not clean windows either. Dust also becomes highly reflective with light and horribly impairs vision. Someone needs to fix this asap or there will be multiple accidents. I am not the only one with this dangerous problem.

I went into the Honda of Seattle dealership to repair the #QJT 2023-25 CR-V EPS Grbx Greasing Saf Rec (NHTSA#24V-744) and the #PJW 2023-25 Multi-Model High-Pressure Fuel Pump Stop Sale (NHTSA#PENDING) issues. The service desk informed me that no work could be performed until the parts are delivered to the dealership. I purchased the vehicle from this same dealership. My car sputtered and lost speed for several seconds during a drive in Summer 2023. I had to let go of the gas before the car returned to normal operation. I did not know it at the time but it was most likely caused by the fuel pump defect. I thought it was related to one of the other 2 recalls for the vehicle around the same time. There were many cars driving near me. We were going around a curvy and windy road. I must move from Seattle to Oklahoma City immediately. However, I can't now since it is unsafe to drive my vehicle with a fuel pump and steering defect. I'm unable to extend my accommodations in Washington and so may be forced to drive a long distance in an unsafe vehicle.

Manufacturer refuses to fix open recalls via its dealer network. I have been calling my local Honda dealer, Wolfchase Honda in Bartlett, TN (ZIP: 38133) for almost two months asking them to fix my vehicle. They tell me they do not have the parts for either the steering gearbox recall (NHTSA recall number: 24V-744) or the fuel pump recall (NHTSA recall number: 24V-763) and to call back. When I call back they tell me then tell me they have given all the parts to other customers, despite having promised me a call back and my having called repeatedly to schedule service over the past two months. I recently spoke with American Honda and they confirmed that limited part availability is NOT mentioned in their recall bulletins, i.e., that part availability should not be an issue. The potentially faulty steering and propulsion system endanger myself and my two year old son every day as I take him to day care and the systems are at risk of failing and causing a crash. I was driving along I-20/59 Northbound approaching Bessemer, Al near or between mile marker 102-104. Suddenly I heard a “pop” sound coming from behind me and noticed in my rear view mirror the rear windshield had a small hole in it. I had just merged into the far left passing lane when this occurred and then proceeded to merge to exit onto Exit 104 (McAshan Dr./ McCalla). As I continued to drive glass began to shatter and the hole expanded. I was initially startled and afraid because I didn’t know what was happening. Once I exited, I parked at the Flying J truck stop and exited the vehicle to further assess. I called my parents and then a Bessemer Police officer to file a report. My car has been making noises and no checks engine light for about 4 weeks now. It has started on October 19, 2025 and tomorrow will make 1 month. The noise starts when I press the brakes and when I drive. When merging on highways the car would delay start when I press the gas and then it’ll jump or stutter twice before moving which is dangerous because I’m merging on to highways. I’ve been to several shops and they’ve all told me it’s the transmission and I will need a complete new one. I continued driving my car because I have no way getting to and from work and today November 15, 2025, it broke down while on the highway with my daughter and husband in the car. I had to wait for my car to decide to start moving while others behind me swerved into the other lane because of the sudden stop all while hoping no one would crash into us. It turned on and we were able to move off to the side slowly and again it shut off. The check engine light finally came on and when the tow truck came the guy inspected the vehicle and said what everyone else said there is a transmission problem and it popped up and said something about the transmission and the brake system. As far as the brakes the mechanics said the brake hardware is rubbing against the rotor on the front left side and I can’t brake hard while driving or it’ll make a loud noise or a hard sudden stop. I have to press lightly and way ahead of time so that I don’t run into any issues. When searching online I saw that 2023 Honda Crvs do have transmission problems and it’s happened to several others. The sudden stops, noises, and complete replacement of their transmission. Plenty of others had it covered by warranty but what about the others that don’t have warranty. I have not replaced my transmission as of yet because the mechanics I usually go to is closed on weekends so I will be waiting until Monday. This is dangerous and crazy and Honda needs to do a major recall before someone actually gets hurt.

I applied my brake pedal to slow for traffic just before entering a roundabout. I came nearly to a full stop, but then with my foot still on the brake pedal, the car surged forward as if I had floored the gas pedal. I kept pressing very hard on the brake pedal, but the car kept speeding forward. I was able to steer in between 2 oncoming cars without hitting them. My left front tire then hit the curb and the car bounced off a metal traffic sign post. I then went down a steep dirt embankment and crashed into a swale with some large rocks. My car finally came to a stop, rim deep in soft dirt just off the shoulder of the road. I did not notice any warning lights come on. I don't know what system malfunctioned, but it had something to do with fuel delivery and possibly the cruise control and automatic braking functions. I was very lucky I was not injured. This malfunction could have caused a serious and possibly a fatal crash. This malfunction put me and nearby motorists at risk of being hit by an out of control vehicle. I checked the floor mat and it was not displaced. There were no loose objects that could have affected the gas or brake pedals. The police officer accused me of stepping on the gas instead of the brake, but that was definitely not the case, regardless of what he may write in his report. The car is currently at a local collision repair shop. They will be checking with the code reader to see if any codes come up involving the fuel and braking systems. My insurance adjuster has inspected the car through photos taken by the repair shop. The shop is currently taking the car apart to assess further damage underneath. I am expecting a progress report tomorrow or Tuesday, March 25. This malfunction exactly fits the description of "Sudden Unexpected Acceleration". I have found 62 similar cases after a cursory internet search, so this is nothing new.

Electrical System,Forward Collision Avoidance1 complaint

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Available for inspection. The automatic braking is malfunctioning, we turned off the crash detention breaking as the CR-V would suddenly break without notice. Despite this being turned off, the vehicle will still break. It often happens when driving any speed over 25 mph. No vehicles in front or the side and the vehicle will simply break. No warning lights will appear (unlike with the crash detection turned on). It comes in suddenly and goes away suddenly. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Mostly the risk of being rear ended. Fortunately no one has been immediately behind us. If there was, we would be in many accidents. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, it cannot be reproduced. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, we are taking it in to have it looked at again for this issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights, messages, or other symptoms. It only happens (so far) when the vehicle is on cruise control. It will I just break for no reason. The normal dinging sound you hear when it trying to prevent a crash also doesn’t appear or sound. It just breaks.

Steering,Power Train1 complaint

At least two times I can recall after starting vehicle and shifting into reverse the car moved forward instead of reverse. I applied the brake and tried again, but the same thing happened. At that point I shifted into park, turned the vehicle off, and restarted it. After doing this and shifting into reverse the vehicle backed up normally. Fortunately I did not hit anything. Additionally another incident occurred where I was changing lanes to make a left turn at approximately 40 MPH the steering became very heavy and I was briefly unable to steer to change direction. While in the turning lane and unable to turn, I placed the vehicle in park, shut off the vehicle and restarted it. This cured the problem and I was able to proceed.

Noisy rough ride that was attributed to uneven tire wear on all 4 tires, called "cupping". Safety: Online research of major tire brands and NHTSA state that continuing to drive on cupped tires can be hazardous due to lost of traction, especially in emergency situation. The dealer, a private mechanic and a tire outlet all confirmed that the tires have uneven wear called "cupping". The dealer's service manager and mechanic foreman and a private mechanic all inspected the tires and confirmed the uneven wear. The first symptom was a wump-wump noise and vibration when driving slow, slowing down or making a turn. Problem first appeared around 11,000 miles. Now the problem appears worse. In that the initial noise and vibration is worse and now there is a chattering sound and vibration in highway drive. Plus an occasional "shimmy sensation" when a bump or rough patch in the road is gone over. New development. Since the onset of this problem. Honda has come out with a recall notice regarding an issue with their steering gearbox worm wheel for the car model involved. A Technical service bulletin was issued on the steering problem, with a note that this problem can lead to uneven tire wear. Despite this warning, the service manager for the dealer is insisting that it is safe to drive on cupped tires. I have since taken my car into the dealer to have the recall issue addressed. But again the service manager is insisting that driving on cupped tires is safe. I think this is a potentially danger situation where customers are being told by the Honda dealer that it is safe to continue to drive on cupped tires. I think that the NHTSA needs to require Honda corporation to order all Honda dealers to cover any uneven tire wear from the faulty steering gearbox defect. I just ordered a set of new tires for my safety at a cost of about $1000. Please help.

Drove car for about 10 minutes, parked car while the engine was still running (approx 5 minutes) then began driving on 25 mph roadway with light traffic (4 lane road). After driving for a couple of minutes, I could no longer accelerate to maintain the speed, all the warning lights came on the instrument panel (see attached pictures for some of the alert messages), and a message came on the dash that said something along the lines that get off the roadway immediately but safely. Upon finding a parking lot about 0.5 mile away, it was very difficult to slow down as brake pedal felt hard- I had to slam on the brakes for it to begin coasting to a stop. Once parked, I turned off the car. When turning on the car again, all the warning lights came on and warning messages started to cycle through on the dash. My safety and the safety of others were greatly affected as I could not stop the vehicle adequately. When towed to the Honda dealership, the dealership was unable to reproduce the symptoms. The Honda Dealership said they would not diagnose the vehicle since it was modified by a QAP mobility equipment dealer. When towed to the mobility dealer, who installed adaptive equipment, they too were unable to reproduce the symptoms. The vehicle was inspected but no issues found with adaptive equipment. See attached invoices and photos of the warning lights.

Forward Collision Avoidance,Lane Departure,Back Over Prevention1 complaint

At startup, routinely see the following messages: Lane keeping assist problem Road departure mitigation system problem Collision mitigation breaking system problem I have taken the car into multiple Honda dealers this year to fix the issue. The first told me I needed to have the Body Control Module replaced, and that the can could try and communicate with the key fob constantly, risking battery drain and posing a safety issue. The part was replaced, but the issue persisted. I then opened a case with Honda corporate, Case #: 14639406. This dealer said there was a "short" in the multipurpose camera and replaced that part. 2 months later, the issues came back.
