The truck was loaded with tools and pulling a trailer. However this load was well within the GVWR of the vehicle

Truck started jerking and shifting hard when driving. Contacted ford and they said that they needed to do a software update. Did the software update and it got extremely worse not wanting to shift into gear. Take the truck to ford in November to have fixed said I needed a new tranny. My extended warranty approves a used one they put it in same thing happening. Send that one back and put another one in same issue with that tranny. It is now March and they cant find another used tranny to fix my truck. After reading many things online it comes down to the CDF drum the bushing/sleeve moves inside the drum. Ford is aware of this issue and has upgraded/revised a drum. Why is this not a recall issue?

NHTSA #11730675

I am the owner of a 2020 Ford F‑350 equipped with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine. My vehicle is subject to an open safety recall, NHTSA 24V957, involving the high‑pressure fuel system. I have been informed by an authorized Ford dealer that there is currently no effective repair remedy available. While I have not experienced loss of power, my vehicle has exhibited abnormal transmission shifting behavior beginning around 40,000 miles. This concern was documented by the dealer and described as normal operation. The condition persisted and was documented again around 60,000 miles, although the dealer stated they could not replicate the issue. Given the unresolved safety recall and ongoing powertrain behavior, I am concerned about vehicle safety, drivability, and long‑term reliability, and I am submitting this complaint to document the risk before a safety‑related failure occurs.

NHTSA #11725831

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at various speed, the transmission was slipping while downshifting and upshifting. The contact also stated that there was a hard shift, and the vehicle would lose motive power and lunge forward. The wrench warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that a dealer representative went to the residence to perform a software update however, the failure persisted, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

NHTSA #11577440

I own a 2020 Ford F-350 Super Duty (VIN: [XXX] , mileage: ~20,000). The vehicle is subject to a recall involving the transmission output planetary four assembly replacement. Ford and the dealer insist that the transmission must be disassembled and rebuilt to complete this recall. I do not agree with this solution because it permanently alters the integrity of the original transmission. Additionally, the dealer (Route 23 Auto Mall, Butler NJ) has repeatedly mishandled repairs, including installing the fuel filter incorrectly multiple times. I have opened several case numbers with Ford Customer Service: Recall Case No: [XXX](02/02/2024) Fuel filter dealer error: [XXX] (01/06/2025), [XXX] (01/15/2025), [XXX] (08/26/2025) Transmission recall follow-up: [XXX] (02/25/2025) Buyback case (denied): [XXX] (03/04/2025) Despite multiple cases, Ford refused to buy back the vehicle because it is registered under a company name. This is unfair and leaves me with a defective and unsafe vehicle. I request NHTSA to investigate this recall and require Ford to provide a new transmission replacement instead of a rebuild, and to review Ford’s handling of dealer errors and warranty obligations. This letter stated trucks built in the Kentucky Truck assembly plant between October 1, 2019 through September 21, 2020 the 10R140 transmission the pinion thrust washers can disintegrate with a defected part. Per the Vin number my truck was built at the above Kentucky plant on February 20, 2020 with this 10R140 Transmission. My Truck is built with a 6.2 L gas engine with the 10R140 transmission F350 Super Duty. The service tech said this is the same Transmission put in the diesel engine trucks. So if there is a safety recall 22S22 on the 10R140 transmission defect why was my truck not listed on this safety recall notice. My truck has the 10R140 transmission and has the same problems as mentioned in the above letter. Please let me know how to address the above issue. I can be reached at [XXX] or [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Brand new 2020 F350 started having issues around 62,000 miles....we have reported these issues to Ford in Harriman and Ford in Lenoir (They do not have a transmission specialist available in Lenoir and Ford in Harriman states they don't honor my extended warranty that we purchased through Ford). In January we started having issues when we were traveling on the interstate heading towards Chattanooga. Which is only about 45 minutes to an hour away. The wrench light came on and the truck started to shift hard and at a high RPM , getting stuck in 7th gear not wanting to shift between 3rd and 4th gear. The truck started to go into limp mode and we managed to get it home and bring it to Ford in Harriman (Jerry Duncan Ford). They stated the TCM needed to be reset, and proceeded with that costing $165. Three weeks later, my truck lost all gears including park and makes a really loud grinding/screeching noise when you try to shift to anything but neutral. The truck was presenting the same issues as the first time, we got it towed to Jerry Duncan and informed them of a recall on the 2020 F350 made between the dates of February 2019- August 2020 and April 2019 - July 2020 manufactured at the Kentucky plant during these dates. My truck (same year make and model as recall ) was manufactured from the Kentucky Plant in November of 2019, showing the same issues and symptoms of the recall. Putting my truck dead smack in the recall time frame, again showing the same issues and symptoms stated in the recall. Preliminary DX from Jerry Duncan was that the Transfer case Mechanism has failed, ignoring the recalls on the truck (there is also 1 regarding back up camera and 1 regarding tow capacity that has never been addressed properly) $80k truck has been sitting in the shop for two weeks and won't be looked at for another week and half, and only has 72,000 miles on it, purchased a year ago. There is not urgency in this matter and I feel we are being booted to the back of the line.

My 2020 Ford F-350 has had an occasional problem with the transmission since shortly after I purchased it. It started with sticking in gear occasionally to the point where the engine RPM's would stay very high but not shift even when pushing the accelerator even more. It just would not come out of it. The dealer didn't find any issue and the issue subsided a bit, but in the last 6-8 months, it has noticeably shifted hard into drive, but not when shifting into reverse. Putting it in drive even with the brake depressed hard to the floor, it jolts forward and shakes the entire truck. When downshifting, it sometimes does it so hard that it feels like a vehicle hit the rear of the truck. There is nothing smooth about this truck with the behavior this transmission is showing. I changed the fluid and filter 6 weeks ago and it's the same. It also occasionally revs up when accelerating as you turn a corner and it "catches." I am mostly a daily driver that occasionally tows a boat or snowmobile trailer. Non-commercial user.

The dealer determined that the steering column upper shaft had separated. The dealer informed the contact that the recall repair stated that the upper shaft would be repaired or replaced. The contact was informed that replacing the steering column was not part of the recall repair and the contact would be responsible for additional repairs. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but denied assistance in covering the cost of the additional repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The steering column upper shaft may have been manufactured wrong and can result in losing the steering. I can not drive the vehicle. I live far from Boise and I'm missing family events and hunting for which I paid tags/license. The parts for this will not be in till next year sometime, per the recall letter. The vehicle has not been inspected and the recall letter doesn't ask for it to be. There has not been any problems up until now.

I haul a truck camper and I do disaster relief/recovery with several groups. I use my truck to get there and sleep in my camper due a lack of resources during a disaster. This recall has prevented me from responding. Ford has given no indication of when this is to be repaired.

Ford sent this recall letter in October, 2025. It’s unbelievable, and unacceptable that Ford would describe a “potential loss of steering control resulting in a crash or injury (or death). However we don’t instruct you to stop driving your vehicle. Parts to fix your defective steering column which could come apart in your hands while driving down the interstate with loved ones, or towing (full ton trucks are meant for heavy towing) won’t be available until 1st quarter 2026”. Are you serious? It’s now halfway through 1st quarter 2026, & still no follow up from Ford. How many people have to die, before the actuaries at NHTSA decide it’s time to put pressure on Ford to expedite this fix? I had no choice but to risk driving my truck 1,200 miles to Florida last week. Thankfully, we made it. However, I refuse to drive it any further as it’s parked in my driveway. I will not hook up my boat or horse trailer until Ford manufactures a new, safe part, and installs it in my truck’s steering to correct this deadly condition. What is NHTSA doing to pressure Ford to get this done? If you send me a standard, boiler plate answer like others have received “be patient, don’t call us, call Ford (and talk to their AI robot)” I will get together with others affected by this recall, and we will go to the media, and possibly higher, if that’s what it takes. Shame on you, claiming to be on the side of living people who just want to stay alive.

I was driving when the steering column upper sharft sperated from the steering wheel. i was driving without any control of the steering. They still have not inspected this. I had it towed to Capital Ford of Sept 3rd. This is directly related to recall 25V626. This can happen while driving and is terrifying especally because there is zero warrning and you do not expect this to happen.

The steering wheel all of a sudden got really loose and will pull away from the steering column. I called Ford service at the dealership I bought it from. They said my extended warranty has just expired. They also say there are no active recalls for this issue. This is not something that should ever happen. I have never had this problem with and vehicle I have ever owned in the 30 + years of owning and driving. Is there anything that can be done to have them cover this repair?

My vehicle was built in October of 2020 which falls into the same time frame of the other vehicle models and build dates. Going 55 MPH down a two lane country road hit a washboard patch of roadway, front end of truck shook violently and loss of steering control and truck pulled to the left into oncoming traffic. Upon reduction of speed shaking ceased and was able to regain control of vehicle. The very next day on the very same patch of roadway exact same incident occurred with the truck. Three days later on a different roadway and going about the same speed 55 MPH, the truck violently shook, lost steering and proper braking ability. The truck pulled hard to the left into oncoming traffic and I was not able to regain control until the truck slowed to approx 15 MPH. This last incident was about three times worse than the first from a loss of control standpoint. Luckily in all three incidents no one was approaching in the oncoming lane. Very dangerous! I returned the vehicle to my local Ford dealer, they inspected and stated they could not find any worn parts such as ball joints etc but they did replace the front steering stabilizer under warranty, my truck only has 30,000 miles. Doing some online research I see this is a common problem for Ford Superduty trucks 2017 and newer. A component has not yet failed but an existing recall (Ford recall 24S78 / NHTSA ID 24V957) describes the potential for loss of motive power increasing the risk of a crash. This recall was issued in December of 2024. I received a notice in January of 2026 that the repair was available, went to my local dealer and was told the recall had been paused on 02/03/2026 - no actual repair is currently available. I live full-time in my 2021, 20,000 lb., 5th-wheel RV and frequently tow it with no other option than my 2020 F350 with the open recall. To quote the recall document, "Ford has not issued instructions to stop driving your vehicle under this safety recall" but a loss of motive power is exponentially worse when towing a large load which is what this vehicle was purpose-built to do.

NHTSA #11718642

When exiting the interstate and coming to a complete stop at the bottom of the exit ramp we went to make a right turn onto a two lane mountain road when we felt a hesitation and within seconds the engine began to sputter, we lost power and the check engine light came on. This was a two lane 55MPH road with no shoulder pull off. Thankfully there was no oncoming traffic in the other lane and there was also an abandoned fruit stand parking lot which were were able to drift across the road and stop in. We experienced a COMPLETE loss of power. Had there been oncoming traffic or no open parking lot just across the road we might have experiened a crash. It is important to note that we were on a vacation in the mountains and thankfully our RV was parked at the Campground we were not towing it at this time. We had to find a tow service to have the vehicle towed to the nearest Ford Dealership in the area. The Dealership notified us that there were metal shavings/flakes in the lower fuel filter housing. They told us that this was a Complete Fuel System Failure and that we would need a complete fuel system replacement of all parts. We had been notified of the recall (Safety Recall Notice 24S78/NHTSA Recall 24V957) in January 2025 and we had taken it to the local Ford Dealership who advised there was no fix for the problem at this time. The Dealership that our truck was towed to after this incident advised us that we would have to pay for all the repair costs (excess of $10,000) as this was still an open recall. We feel that this is a MAJOR safety issue - we were due to leave for home the following morning where we would have been towing a 7500lbs travel trailer on the interstate roads. Had we experienced this failure then it could have been truley tragic for not only us but other motorists. After this incident we called Ford Motor Company and advised them and they told us it was still considered an open recall with no fix available.

NHTSA #11684934

I own a 2020 Ford F-350 with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine. It uses the Bosch CP4 high-pressure fuel pump, which is known to be prone to sudden, catastrophic failure. If the pump fails, it sends metal shavings through the fuel system, which can cause complete engine shutdown without warning — a dangerous situation while driving. Currently, an unresolved safety recall exists that could cause additional potential damage to this high pressure fuel pump, which only increases the odds of the pump itself failing. That said, the present unresolved recall does not solve the problem of a faulty high pressure fuel pump. Ford is aware of the issue and switched to a more reliable pump in later models, but has not issued a recall or offered repairs to affected vehicles. This is a known defect that affects safety and reliability. While mine has not failed yet, many owners have experienced engine failure due to this pump, and I believe it’s only a matter of time. I’m concerned for my safety and the cost of repair if this part fails.

Ford sent me a recall for my 2020 F350 powerstroke saying they are trying to come up with a computer programming to fix faulty fuel pump in my truck which could lead to loss of power and crashing especially while pulling heavy loads. This is a mechanical issue. It has nothing to do with a software update which they claim they do not have but will try to get. There is no fix for this at the time. There actually is a fix. S&s makes a DCR fuel pump specifically to replace these fuel pumps because these fuel pumps can blow up and ruin the entire vehicle as the vehicles with these fuel pumps are extremely expensive.. the maker of this DCR pump for a 2020 F350 6.7 l powerstroke diesel has found the mechanical problem internal to the existing fuel pumps engineering and has designed a new one. I'm sure Ford can pay for these to be put in their vehicles or design one that is similar but these are already being made, sold and installed. Ford says they do not have a remedy for this at this time but there is one and it is this DCR pump. I saved my entire life and have people working in this truck in my family in this truck since couldn't be a serious safety issue and potentially cause death. I think Ford should be having these aftermarket units put in free of charge as all safety recalls are installed free of charge. Anyways, I wanted to write to see if this would be possible or if Ford can be pushed into doing the right thing and installing these in their vehicle. They are about $2,000 and probably around $1,000 to install, but you're talking about losing a $ $70 to $100,000 vehicle and a life. I think it's worth it

Truck's power door lock actuators are failing and fail to unlock the doors via remote or the interior door(s) electric unlock button(s). The only way to open the door is via exterior key (if you happen to have it accessible) or if you pull the vehicle's interior door handle, which then "pops" the door lock button. This failure is alarming as in the event of an emergency, access to the interior cab of the vehicle can not be gained from the exterior without a key. Similarly, access to the interior of the cab can only be provided when one squeezes, or pulls, the vehicle's interior door handle. Passenger, right side door mirror has failed in that while driving, regardless of speed, the mirror no longer stays outright and provides rear and blind spot view capabilities, therefore making lane changes hazardous with a high potential for crash probability. The internal mechanism(s) have failed and while driving the side mirror folds inward and collapses towards the door making it impossible to see what is next to you in an adjacent lane as well as what may be approaching from the right rear and right lane. The vehicle is scheduled to be inspected by a Ford dealership tomorrow (8/1/2025) to be assessed and see if they will replace the mirror. The mirror in question is pristine and has not been subjected to harsh treatment or been struck by any outside forces that would cause internal damage. No crash reports are associated with this vehicle.

In 2020 I Purchased Meyer Products Night Saber 4 LED Headlights for my snowplow. I thought they would be better than Meyers Nite Blaster 2 Halogen Headlights. Which I have found not to be the case. The Lens Defroster does not work well in heavy snow. They do not stay on constantly to keep melting snow off of the lens. Which becomes heavly snow laden severely impacting driving visibility. On more than one occasion I have had to pull over and manually clean the snow build up off of the lens. The most recent was the evening of Thursday [XXX] in which Maine had a heavy wet snow fall in Penobscot & Waldo County area. I had called Meyer Products in the past to complain about the the heater grid issue of not being able to keep up with keeping the lens clear & free of snow build up. I have included a picture of the plow headlight. So you can view the heater grid. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Engine,Fuel/Propulsion System2 quejas

The component/system that failed or malfunctioned is the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) NOx Catalyst Efficiency system, triggering DTC P20EE – SCR NOx Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1). This issue began immediately after Ford Recall 24S78 (PCM software update) was performed on April 29, 2026 at Ferman Ford of Countryside. The truck had zero emissions or check-engine issues prior to the recall flash and was perfectly maintained to Ford standards with Howes diesel treatment every tank. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed multiple times by the dealer: After the May 4 PCM reprogram per TSB 21-2248 After replacement of both NOx sensors on May 5 (code returned in under 17 miles) After replacement of the DEF injector (code returned again) The dealer only performed one manual DPF regeneration instead of the two required by Ford SSM 49202 and pinpoint test RD15, and they did not complete the SCR Parameter Reset. They are now quoting an additional ~$2,000 out-of-pocket for a DPF replacement after partial goodwill assistance was approved. The vehicle has been repeatedly inspected and repaired by Ferman Ford. No independent inspection yet. Ford Customer Service has been contacted and partial goodwill was approved, but significant out-of-pocket costs remain. Warning lamps/messages (Service Engine Soon light + “exhaust emission control system is not operating as expected”) first appeared immediately after the April 29 recall PCM flash and have continued ever since. Safety risk: A loss of motive power, entry into limp mode, or reduced power while driving could result in a crash or inability to maintain highway speed. This appears to be a direct consequence of the Recall 24S78 PCM software update tightening emissions monitoring. All repair orders, photos of warnings, and supporting documents are attached for your review. There is 12. I was not able to upload the last of the documents.

Vehicle produced symptoms over time: Loss of Ford Pass connectivity, Inconsistent turn signal function, occasional dashboard alarm for Open Driver Door while driving, unwarranted security alarm triggers when still at home. Second to last incident was an unwarranted security alarm that triggered, and was unable to be stopped by use of the security controls (lock/unlock, alarm key button). Horn "wore out" as if fuse burned. Disconnected battery to stop. Two days later, after reconnecting the battery I drove the vehicle, Horn was not functional, and I was unable to stop the engine. Once started, the vehicle did not turn off, even with key completely removed from ignition switch. This was repeatable, every ignition cycle, thereafter. I drove to the dealer, that morning. The dealer mechanic was required to shut off the engine. Dealer mechanic diagnosed failed Battery Junction Box. After Repair, Mechanic diagnosed faulty Body Control Module. Dealer mechanic also recommended replacement of full "Main" wiring harness, interconnecting the two. The cause for all failures was corrosion and electrical shorts due to water ingress. I am aware Ford has issued numerous TSBs and recalls for faulty BCMs, in the same age range as this vehicle. Also, TSBs for water intrusion into the BCM. The mechanic took photos of corrosion on both the BCM and main wiring harness. My prior vehicle was a 2011 Ford F-150, with the same 6.2L engine. No such faults were experienced up to Nov. 2023 sale. Photos of the corrosion on main wiring harness and BCM attached. Dealer has possession of the vehicle. Repairs in progress. Ford has declined support for faulty components; Recalls not associated with this vehicle. Estimated repairs to date on 6 year old vehicle on critical electronics in excess of $7,000.

The connectors (part #1 HUZZ-14S411-HB) and (part #2 HUZZ-14S411-FA) are located in on the frame of the truck where the back wheels throw water towards when driving on wet terrain. They tend to hold water which causes electrical damage. This is happening on multiple ford trucks from 2020 - current models. This is causing tail light, AC, radio and other failures to occur.

Our 2020 Ford F-350 experienced a catastrophic mechanical failure while in motion. The driveline disconnected, the rear axle locked up, and the transmission bellhousing was destroyed—leaving the truck completely immobile and blocking traffic. This occurred with no prior warning and posed a significant crash risk. At the time, Ford Safety Recall 22S22 (related to a known defect in the transmission’s output planetary four assembly) was open and had not yet been completed. The symptoms and failure we experienced match the failure scenario described in Ford's own bulletin for 22S22: driveline separation, internal transmission damage, and loss of control or Park function. Ford has denied coverage, stating the failure was due to a "loose pinion flange nut" and unrelated to the recall. However, they have not provided any inspection documentation, photos, or evidence that the recalled components were properly inspected or ruled out as the root cause. We have repeatedly requested this documentation from both Ford and the dealership, but neither has provided it. We are concerned that the failure was caused by the exact defect identified in Recall 22S22, and that Ford is failing to take responsibility or follow full recall procedures—including post-failure inspection and transparency. We are requesting that NHTSA investigate this case as a potential mishandling of a known safety defect and failure to comply with recall responsibilities.
