A Safety Recall was issued on the vehicle with no remedy. The recall was in reference to the Engine Intake Valves and stated; "The engine intake valves may crack and break, which could result in loss of motive power and increase the risk of a crash". It also stated, " Prior to losing motive power, an engine malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate in the cluster and the driver may notice that the vehicle is running rough". This issue was the result of Ford manufacturing using a material that had "hardness issues". This all came out prior to the vehicle reaching the end of its warranty mileage. A test was required on the engine at the dealership at which time, the technician determined there was no need to perform the "recall test" (confirmed by video sent to us). On or around Dec. 17th, while my wife was driving the vehicle and entering a gas station, the check engine light came on, and the vehicle began losing power. She parked and immediately contacted the Ford dealership. They advised her to not drive the vehicle and have it towed to the nearest dealership (She was in Pennsylvania picking up our daughter from college). It was determined by the dealership in Pa. that compression in a cylinder was down 5% and the vehicle needed a new engine. We had the vehicle towed back to Virginia and inspected by the dealership who services the vehicle. Parts of the engine were removed for visual inspection at which time a crack intake valve was found, confirming the engine was no good. Also, confirming the issue Ford had stated in its recall. All information and pictures were sent to Ford manufacturing for determination on fixing the problem. Ford has said they will not cover the total cost to make good on their recall because the vehicle was out of warranty (miles were exceeded). How are consumers protected from manufactures taking advantage of mileage? The SAFETY recall was issued long before the warranty ran out. What if my wife had crashed w/ our daughter?

Ford has issued a recall (24S55) stating the Intake valves on the ford bronco with engine2.7L and 3.0L will harden and crack or break and loss of power. I had the same issue in my 2021 Ford Bronco with the 2.3L engine while I was driving in the highway I got a check engine light then it started cutting out horribly so I slowed down to pull off the road through a metal gate that was open with a cattle guard and the engine died as I was turning in and loss power steering trying to turn the wheel back in time I didn’t and ended up side swiping the pole and knocking off my side mirror and damaging my front quarter panel along with the front door. No damage to the solid metal pole. But I took my vehicle to the local ford dealership to see what the issue was and at the time they should have gotten the recall and at least put two and two together and let ford know about the issue in the 2.3L also but they didn’t mention anything about the valve being broken but said it had no compression and the spark plug diode was broke off. I’ve never seen a diode and the diodes ground hook break off on its own it’s always been broken off from being hit by something but they said it needed a whole new engine for $13,000 so I took it to another mechanic since that’s always that dealerships go to answer for everything is it needs a new engine so the new mechanic did the same stuff and also used a bore scope but instead of just saying the cylinder was bad he seen the hole in the valve and said it just needs a new head with new valves so since I needed my ride to be able to get to work and for half the price they tore it down and sure enough the valve was cracked with a hole just as they said and just like the recall (24S55) but had that dealership paid attention to safety alerts and ran the issue up with ford and let them know the same issue had happened in the bronco with the 2.3L engines also I wouldn’t be writing this right now. I’d be putting a 5 star review on their page not a 1.

I have reported this prior (complaint number 11481579). Another total catastrophic shut down of the vehicle occurred while my son was driving causing a near miss fatal rear ending on a busy road. The vehicle loses all power and electrical for no reason while being driven. Only after 5-10 min can the vehicle be restarted. I am reporting this story to new agency so I recommend the NHTSA take issue seriously.

NHTSA #11490428

Check engine light came on and I took it into the dealership. They found the codes and confirmed low compression in cylinder 6. Was told I needed a new engine.

NHTSA #11492900

I was driving about 65mph on a bridge when my engine completely shut down. I barely was able to coast to the end of the bridge and was almost struck by multiple vehicles. This is a new bronco with 3000 miles on it. I see they had problems with this in the 6 cylinder but I have the 4 cylinder and this happened. Also when u got to the side of the road every single warning light in the vehicle went off. There was no warning sign. No previous issue. It just happened out of the blue and I could have been killed because of this. My wife was in the vehicle with me and was terrified. Then it took 4 hrs to get a tow truck to get us using road side assistance. Now I'm out a brand new vehicle for God knows how long and have no transportation.

NHTSA #11483782

While driving approximately 40 mph the engine just shut off and the car stopped without warning on an extremely busy road. I could not turn the car back on at all and had to have someone help me push the Bronco to the side of the road. My Bronco had only about 3,500-4,000 miles on it and is less than a year old. About 5 months earlier I did hear a strange and very faint tapping noise from the engine right around the wheel base when I drove under 35 mph. About a week or two after I noticed this noise, it then went away. When I was at the Ford dealership getting an additional key programmed for my Bronco, I asked if they had heard of such an issue or if they thought it was something they should look into. They thought it was just a new car working out new car sounds.

July 15, 2022 - lost power on I80 during heavy traffic. I had to pull to the side as I could not accelerate. Luckily it restarted and I was able to get home. I took it in for service at the dealership the next day (engine light did not come on until the next morning). I was told it was an issue with the catalytic converter and parts were on backorder but it was safe to drive until the part came in. 3 days ago, on Saturday July 30th, I was in my driveway getting to leave and my Bronco wouldn't start, it turned over briefly and then died. The engine made a loud 'knocking' noise and then complete silence. This was a Saturday so they couldn't schedule a tow until until Monday, its been at the dealership for 2 days and they are waiting to hear back from an engineer. I know it's covered under warranty but I think a recall should be issued before someone dies. I was driving about 60-65 mph when I lost acceleration. There was construction ahead but thankfully, it happened before an off ramp. If it hadn't happened in that spot, I wouldn't have had a shoulder to pull over to.

8:28pm 6.8.2022 - Bronco was towing 1 boat on a single axle trailer (total weight less than 3000lbs). - First soft top convertible roof panel was open - Music playing at medium volume to drown out adjacent highway noise - Heading NE on the Highway 820 feeder road. - Stopped at stop sign at intersection of Cahoba Drive. - Pulled out of intersection and was traveling on a slight uphill at 18pmh - Interior of vehicle smelled sweet and we noticed white smoke filling behind the vehicle - Warning lights for Battery (red battery) and Service (wrench) came on and then a warning to stop vehicle and restart engine. This coincided with a sudden decrease in power. - Pulled to the side of the road to a safe position and powered off the engine, allowed several minutes for it to cool then attempted to restart the engine with no luck. Service (wrench) light turned off and Check Engine light came on. - Open hood to allow engine too continue to cool and to check for exterior engine damage. - Documented current state of vehicle with photos. - Had Ford tow to Grapevine Ford in Grapevine, TX. 8am 6.9.2022 - Service Advisor reached out to confirm vehicle was in shop and would be looked at this week. - I advised that based on the engine build date on the engine sticker, this vehicle was in the batch of potentially faulty valves from the Lima facility. He said he and Ford had no knowledge of potentially faulty valves and that the tech would perform the necessary checks. 10am 6.10.2022 - Service Advisor & Manager reached out to advise that one spark plug was sheared off and that the engine would need to be replaced and possibly the turbos; FoMoCo would confirm what to replace. They actively avoided any discussion of the valves and did not respond when I mentioned them. I verbally requested copies of all videos/photos/reports related to my vehicle and access to parts. 1pm - I requested via text message to Scott Service Advisor access to the my request above. Dealer to follow up next week

On May 17th At 6,800 miles my motor randomly experienced catastrophic engine failure and has been at the Ford dealership since. The dealership has not told me anything on how or why this happened other than the motor needs to be replaced. The dealer received the new motor on June 22nd.

According the the service department at the Dealership, the valves on my vehicle's engine failed and caused a complete engine failure.

NHTSA #11469069

Engine failure. My wife was driving the vehicle and was enveloped in smoke and the engine stopped and she was stuck in the middle lane of a busy road in rush hour. A dangerous section of road a few miles from our house. I drove down and gave her my SUV and then called AAA who towed it to the dealership. The motor was dead. The vehicle was towed to Future Ford of Sacramento. They then diagnosed it a few days later and informed us that it is a complete engine failure and that it will take several months to get the vehicle back to us. There were no warning lights or any warning prior to the engine stopping and a large amount of smoke to the point that my wife thought the whole vehicle was on fire. Four people stopped to help her and get her to the side of the road.

I am filing a complaint regarding the mishandling of a safety recall on my 2021 Ford Bronco, serviced through Legacy Ford in Corbin, KY. My vehicle currently has four active recalls. One, Campaign 25S01/25V025, involves corrosion and possible failure of the rear shock absorbers. Although this recall was issued in January 2025 and officially appears in my Ford account, parts were unavailable when I contacted Legacy Ford. Ford’s recall line assured me that I would receive a loaner vehicle and/or temporary fix, but the dealership denied this. In fact, a Legacy Ford rep told my husband to “go to the junkyard” for replacement shocks. I called Ford’s Executive Customer Service to escalate the situation. I was told the campaign was still considered an “Advanced Recall” (despite its official status) and that they could not override the dealership’s refusal to provide assistance. This created a deeply unsafe situation—my husband and I experienced two near-accidents due to rear suspension instability, while our toddler was in the vehicle. After waiting weeks with no resolution and no loaner, my husband had to repair the issue himself just to make the car drivable. We received no reimbursement or follow-up, and today, three of the four recalls remain open with no solution available. I am requesting a formal review of Legacy Ford’s actions, communication, and refusal to assist with a documented safety issue. I would also like to be contacted by someone at Ford with the authority to resolve this matter appropriately.

Both rear shocks disassembled. The external reservoir to the factory 2021 Badlands bilstein shocks fell off at or around 36,000 miles. I did not hit a particular pothole, drive off road, it’s used for town/highway driving only, yet both external reservoir cylinders fell off at some point. These are solid cylinders that could cause damage to other vehicles. Now, my vehicle has an unsafe suspension ride, bouncy and kicks, and I’m scheduled for out of pocket repair.

The stock bilstein shocks lost the reservoir for hydraulic fluids causing shock absorber to fail while driving. the canister simply fell off. I didn't hit anything other than normal bumps in the road. The vehicle has never been in an accident or offroad to cause the canister to fall off. Many other owners have complained on different blog sites about this same issue. This causes the vehicle to bounce uncontrollably since the shocks are rendered useless without the hydraulic canister/reservoir. Bouncing down the highway is super dangerous, and Ford didn't really seem to be worried that this is happening when I called the 800 Ford Assistance number two different times. I think a recall of these shock absorbers is required. I ended up having to pay for brand new shocks after 36,600 miles and Ford told me I had to use OEM (same bad designed shocks) to maintain my extended warranty. Please research and recall this dangerous part. Here is one forum discussing the issue. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Window actuator does not properly open or close passenger window to open door properly, which is a safety risks to a child. Window could shatter because window will not roll down the inch or so to pull the door open. In order to open the door, the window will shake vibrantly and risk of a child of a possible window shatter. Ford says this is a normal wear and tear and it’s at owners cost to replace. To me that’s unacceptable.

The prime screen fails, will not enable any system updates, interconnectivity via bluetooth devices fails...basically everything to do with the primary screen fails. We have documentation to show multiple visits to the dealership that have not been able to fix it. Most recently the dealer has a full screen replacement parts on backorder. They state they have no idea when the backorder will be resolved as they believe the factory will not ship the parts until they are no longer having quality control issues. This has been numerous visits to the deal on the same issue so we need to invoke the lemon law to address this problem.

The front camera is blacked out about 50% of the time when in reverse or when activating the camera system on my Bronco. I have had it into the dealership multiple times for this issue and they continue to tell me there is a over the air (OTA) fix coming soon. The last time they told me this was in Q2 2024 saying that a fix was coming by year end 2024. I am still waiting for this fix and it causes me some distress that I am unable to completely see around my vehicle when parking or in tight spaces. The first occurrence was on a busy highway in poor weather conditions causing a near accident/collision. It appears some electrical malfunction shits off all working of the vehicle only to recover 5-10min later. A brake failure signal was shown on second occurrence. This is a definite life-threatening defect needing prompt investigation and remedy.

rear view camera display when vehicle is in reverse will intermittently turn blue or black which renders the rear view camera useless. and at times will state camera unavailable. vehicle is a 2021 ford bronco built on june 15, 2021 at ford Michigan build plant. i have contacted ford related to this concern as i believe that the vehicle should fall under recall 23s48 for rear camera replacement, and 25s49 for module updates related to rear camera display. the vehicle year, build date, assembly plant and symptoms all fit within the parameters of recall. note that i also have a 2022 bronco that these recalls are active on for the same concerns, the concern happens 7-8 times a week for the last 4-5 months. dealership has contacted ford sssc team about getting recalls activated on this vehicle and they are given the most basic responses stating that this vehicle is not included due to "certain model year vehicles" even though the vehicle is clearly within the model years outlined in both recalls. the rear view camera intermittently not working is a safety issue as it can stop working at any time when you would be using it to reverse. thank you for your time and consideration when investigating this concen.

Structure8 quejas

Component/System Involved: Molded-in-Color (MIC) Hardtop – Composite Roof Panel What happened: The molded-in-color (MIC) hardtop on my 2021 Ford Bronco (2-door) has developed multiple visible stress cracks above the passenger-side window. These are not surface scratches — they are embedded, structural fractures in the composite roof material. The cracks have formed under normal, garage-kept driving conditions at just over 10,400 miles and continue to worsen. Safety risk: I am concerned these cracks pose a potential safety risk, particularly involving water intrusion during rainfall or car washes. The affected area is directly above the front-row passenger seat and adjacent to electrical systems, including interior lighting and airbags. If water penetrates the roof structure, it could lead to mold, short circuits, degraded visibility, or electrical malfunction — especially under motion. Additionally, the structural integrity of the hardtop could be compromised in a rollover scenario. Inspection history: A Ford dealership in Winchester VA acknowledged this is a known issue and stated they had replaced multiple hardtops for the same defect. However, they declined to inspect my vehicle due to the warranty having recently expired. Ford Motor Company also reviewed the issue but denied coverage without inspecting the vehicle. Manufacturer acknowledgment: Ford delayed delivery of my Bronco by over a year due to widespread MIC hardtop defects. Despite that delay, the same failure has now occurred in my vehicle, just beyond the warranty period and with low mileage. Inspection availability: The vehicle and affected hardtop are available for inspection upon request. I have detailed photographs showing the extent and location of the cracks. Symptoms and warnings: There were no warning lights or error messages prior to the appearance of the defect. The cracks appeared gradually and became visibly obvious in June 2025.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated the rear translucent heavy plastic panel was loosened due to the breakdown of the plastic tabs used to secure the rear panel in place. The contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with a soft top, and when the weather was warm, the side panels and rear panel would be removed to open the rear of the vehicle like a convertible. The contact was concerned that the clear panel could fall from the rear of the vehicle and strike the vehicle behind. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the soft top needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that prior to the failure, the soft top had been replaced because the side clear panels had experienced a similar failure with the plastic tabs. I am writing to report a serious safety issue with my 2021 Ford Bronco. While driving on the highway at approximately 55-60 mph in the early morning, I heard a loud noise and saw powder falling on me. Upon pulling over, I discovered that a large section of my hardtop had blown off. Specifically, the plastic part over the fiberglass detached. If there had been a car behind me, it would have certainly been struck by the debris. This incident poses a significant danger not only to me but to other motorists as well. Ford is aware of this issue but has refused to address it. I consider this a critical safety hazard and request that this matter be investigated promptly. I believe the manufacturer should replace the defective hardtop and take responsibility for ensuring the safety of their vehicles. Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.

The vehicle was brought back to the dealership 3x for this same issue. The top seam (weather strip) appeared to "fall" down and trap it and then other times the window wouldn't completely close and you could hear whistling sound from the air forcing through the space. This had been going on until this past week when while driving on the highway the window just shattered into pieces. Thankfully no one was in that seat at the time.

Within in seconds the fire engulfed the whole vehicle. I had seconds to unhook it from my RV. It took me three tries to unhook because of the smoke. I eventually got it unhooked and went back to the front of the RV and pulled forward out of harms way.

NHTSA is showing that there is an open recall on this vehicle. I have spoken to FORD Corporate and also taken the vehicle to 2 different dealers who have all communicated the same thing: There is no recall, nor has there ever been a recall for this vehicle. I have asked the dealer to report this to NHTSA and they said that they cannot due to there is no recall to report and they've never reported a recall. I have called Ford twice, NHTSA twice and gone to 2 dealers. No one at NHTSA has been willing to help get the information corrected. I have asked if someone can simply verify the information with FORD online OR if we can place a 3 way call with FORD-the response I'm getting is "NO" but I'm stuck in the middle of FORD and NHTSA and no one seems to even be willing to help me at either place. If I have paperwork from FORD insisting there has never been a recall and you can clearly pull the records online that there is no recall I need NHTSA to update their records. This is costing me $ as I purchased this vehicle to TURO and cannot do so until you update your records to match FORD showing that there is no recall.

In August while driving at highway speed on I-94, the engine started to stall in traffic with no warning lights or indicators. Outside temperature was in the mid 80’s. Had to carefully pull over and restart the vehicle, it continued to intermittently stall. After turning ignition off and restarting it cleared up. This is the third time this has happened in traffic at highway speeds. Once in June, once in July and this time in August. There is a recall for this, but it is concerning to drive on the highway.

My Bronco died and would not restart. Beach Ford diagnosed it as a fuel pump replacement. Luckily, I was in a car wash drive approach lane when this occurred. I was not on any roadway when the Bronco stalled. The Engine light appeared on the instrument panel.

NHTSA #11669722

While driving my family of 4 the week before last, our Bronco without warning began shaking and then lost all power / ability to accelerate. I was able to pull to the side of the road before the engine completely shut off. A warning light then showed indicating “manual restart required” for which I could not locate any information in the manual. This happened in 110 degree heat and with young kids in the car. There was no previous warning and the engine would not reengage. Vehicle had to be towed 100 miles to Ford dealership nearer to our home. Dealership diagnosis indicated the problem was the fuel pump which then was replaced, although they did not acknowledge that this was a “known” issue. We were fortunate this happened in an area where we were able to pull over outside of a direct traffic lane and did not happen 15 minutes later where we would have been traveling at high speed on a busy freeway.

Truck idled until timeout time and started back up without problem. Drove less than a mile and bronco started sputtering while attempted in move forward. Completed my turn onto the highway and realized there was a problem. Had barely enough time to get to the shoulder where the vehicle wouldn't start again. Pulled negative battery cable to reset, no help. It was very clear there was fuel delivery issue. Tank was full when I started my adventure and was still over half full when the fuel pump/module died. Luckily I just got back into cellular range and was able to call for a tow. I was on a blind corner as well. There really wasn't much time to get the vehcile to safety thus this complaint. Ford replaced the fuel pump and module, with the same part numers. There has since been a part modification. There are others who have had thier fuel pumps fail.

On June 9, 2022, while traveling on an Interstate Highway at about 80 mph, the engine sputtered and died without any warning light activation. The vehicle failure caused an extremely unsafe condition which caused me to navigate without power, in moderate traffic, from the #1 lane, across the #2 lane and onto the shoulder. The failure caused me to perform this high risk maneuver in front of an approaching big rig traveling in the #2 lane. The vehicle was towed to the nearest Ford dealership where an inspection determined the fuel pump had failed. The fuel pump was replaced but the dealership did not know if the replacement had been redesigned to prevent such catastrophic failures in the future. The loss of power was sudden and immediate without any prior warning messages and/or warning lamp activation.

Visibility/Wiper7 quejas

While driving home in the evening I drove through a swarm of insects. I pushed the button to spray washer fluid and engage the wipers to clear the windshield. No fluid came out and the windshield became smeared there by obscuring visibility. I thought that odd as I always top off windshield washer fluid on all my vehicles as part of routine maintenance. When I arrived home I put approximately 1 gallon of fluid into the washer reservoir which quickly emptied onto the fender liner and the ground. Apparently there is a known defect with the washer fluid reservoir that causes it to split along the seam and empty its contents. I believe this could be a safety issue due to the flat upright design of the Bronco windshield making it a bug splat magnet and not being able to clear visibility. The Bronco is also marketed as an off-road vehicle and the windshield could be covered in mud or dust. There is no warning lamp for low washer fluid.

NHTSA #11678485

Ford Bronco windshield washer reservoir will no longer hold fluids. Multiple attempts to refill lead to the reservoir being empty. This is problematic as the windshield CANNOT be cleaned while driving the vehicle. Finally got an appointment with a Ford dealer to be told that the washer reservoir needs to be replaced, that they know these crack and fail, and that I was 9 days out of warranty. Dealership also stated there was a long backlog to get a replacement washer reservoirs (3-4 weeks minimum). There is no way that the reservoir could have been damaged by us (the owner) - it is nestled between the exterior and interior of the front quarter panel and inaccessible unless the exterior quarter panel is removed. This appears to be a well-known issue with Bronco owners as many forums (easily found in internet searches) have numerous complaints and discussions about the leaking washer fluid reservoirs.

The wiper will work for about 20 minutes. the slow to a very slow intermittent wipe no matter the rain amount. Once this has started you can adjust the speed of the wiper and it will work for about 30 seconds the fall back into the slow intermittent wipe. I took it to the dealer, and they said the wipers were working normally, even though I have a video of the issue happening. There are no indications of a malfunction on the dashboard.

NHTSA #11548808

Windshield wipers are very slow when set to high speed. On the highest setting they are going the same speed as other vehicles low speed setting. During heavier rain visibility is near zero in the Bronco when it wouldn’t be in other vehicles.

NHTSA #11528376

When driving in light, moderate, and heavy rain, the wipers fail to operate properly causing a loss in visibility and significant risk of accident. Specifically, when the wipers are on the fast intermittent, slow constant on, or fast constant on, they operate as expected for 45-80 seconds after which the wipers begin to slow down and stop. The wipers must be physically turned off and back on the make them work again, only to have the issue continue to occur after another 45-80 seconds. While driving at freeway speeds in moderate rain, this issue has caused numerous dangerous situations where my visibility has been reduced significantly.

NHTSA #11507384

This issue occurs anytime the wipers are used, including rain, snow, sleet, etc.. The issue has been present from day 1 of ownership and continues to this day. Wipers are turned on to any setting. After approximately 1 minute, the wiping will stop completely, then start wiping at approximately 4sec intervals (15 cycles per minute). This pace is almost always inadequate to provide unobstructed visibility. This pace does not meet the mandated requirements of FMVSS 104 section S4.1.1.3 (20 cycles per minute) and thus means the vehicle should deemed non compliant for on road use until corrected.

I received an alert on the dash stating there was an issue with the blind spot monitoring/rear cross traffic system. It was erroring off and on for that entire drive. When I got home, I googled the issue and it appears it's a known issue with '21 and some early '22 broncos where they factory installed the blind spot module wiring harness too close to the rear bumper. Over time, the wires rub and eventually rub bare and corrode or short out. I went out to take a look and sure enough, I had rubbed through on the driver side (photo) and the passenger side was nearly rubbed through. I have an extended warranty and it's at the dealership today. This is a manufacturing defect and should be covered (even if out of warranty) in my opinion. We will see what kind of story the dealer can come up with to wiggle out of it being covered under warranty.

NHTSA #11712311

I have been getting a message that my blind spot and cross traffic alert deactivated because trailer is attached. I have never had a trailer attached but do have a trailer hitch- the dealer said Ford refuses to pay to have it fixed because the bumper to bumper warranty is out. the car has been garaged and has only 9,000 miles on it. This is a safety issue that I think they should cover as I have no blind spot or cross traffic warnings.

NHTSA #11683687

Cross traffic and blind spot monitoring/alert failed. Electrical wiring failed due to rubbing on the rear bumper causing failure of blind spot alert and cross traffic alert systems. Reliance on these systems is critical to safe operation of the vehicle.

When driving on the highway and pressing down on the gas pedal, the bronco immediately stalled without warning. The vehicle gradually slowed down and I was unable to do anything except turn the wheel. I was lucky that there was a shoulder to pull over to. (This time of year there are tons of spots on the highway that there isn't a shoulder to pull over to and could have posed a HUGE safety issue!) Even with the shoulder, large vehicles were driving by at speeds of 80mph with just a few feet of clearance. I was unable to start the vehicle after multiple attempts. Electrical power to the vehicle still worked. I had to call a tow truck and tow us the remaining way to our destination. After several hours (roughly 3 hours) the vehicle was able to start again. I drove to the dealership to have them look at it. They could only tell me that it was a low fuel pressure incident and could not replicate it. They said could just be "bad gas". This same exact incident -vehicle stalling while driving and pressing on the gas pedal, without any warning, has happened two additional times since this major incident. I took it to another dealer to have it looked at again and they said almost the exact same thing. System shows a low fuel pressure event but that they can't replicate it. I believe it could be tied to the NHTSA Action Number PE24019 that is currently under investigation. This is an extremely dangerous issue and wildly unpredictable that could leave me stranded or hit on the side of the road at anytime. Additionally, it's frustrating to see the possible issue under investigation for recall since July 2024 (before any of my issues) and have neither of the two dealerships tell me this information after I specifically asked if there had been any similar incidents reported. I had to do my own research to find this. Please help! Please recall!

Electrical System,Unknown Or Other3 quejas

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my Ford vehicle’s infotainment screen failure, which has been identified under a recall but currently has no available remedy or repair timeline. When the screen goes blank or becomes unresponsive, I lose access to critical safety features, including the rearview camera, which is federally required. This significantly increases the risk of accidents while reversing, especially in areas with pedestrians. The system also affects access to navigation, hands-free communication, and important vehicle alerts, forcing me to either drive without these features or become distracted trying to compensate. Although Ford has acknowledged this issue, there is no clear timeline for a fix, and no accommodations have been provided. I am expected to continue driving a vehicle that does not meet expected safety standards, which puts both myself and others at risk. I rely on my vehicle daily, including transporting passengers, and the lack of a functioning safety system is a serious concern. The absence of communication and support from Ford regarding a resolution is also concerning. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue and require Ford to provide a timely remedy or appropriate accommodations, such as a loaner vehicle or interim solution, to ensure driver and public safety while awaiting a permanent fix.

NHTSA #11735509

I have a new issue with my Bronco. While it drives well most of the time, I now regularly encounter a problem where multiple error messages pop up on the screen (sequentially) while I am driving, causing the vehicle to effectively, stop responding. The engine remains on, and I don't lose power to the brakes or steering, but the car won't react when I press the gas pedal. It seems like it's some critical failure safety measure, though feels critically unsafe when it occurs. When surrounded by other vehicles, at speed, I am forced to coast to a stop (with a prayer). Usually, when I put it in park, turn off the vehicle, and get out, it will reset all of the errors and work again. This situation is quite dangerous, especially when I'm around other cars. I contacted Ford, but they fit me in for two weeks. Here are the error codes that appear in order: -4x4 Off -Service Vehicle Soon -Service advance Trac -Check 4x4 -Pre-collision assist not available -Service advance track

-I bought the Ford Bronco to Flat-tow behind my Motorhome. (All 4 wheels on the ground) -Per Ford this is permitted, they outline a procedure in the owner's manual on how this must be performed. -At least 48 states require a supplemental braking system on towed vehicle. -The Bronco has an Electronic Break Booster (EBB) -When the Bronco is placed in the Flat - tow mode, the last step is to turn the key off. -Ford has set a timer (30 to 45 minutes) to shut down power to the EBB, when the key is turned off. -After timer expires, the brakes have no boost. This causes any after-market braking system installed on the Bronco to be useless. -In these circumstances, The Bronco is providing no help to the motorhome for braking, causing longer braking distances. Also, If the Bronco were to become detached from the motorhome, the emergency braking system that should come on and stop the vehicle, would not work. Could cause injury or death by having a runaway. -Ford has been unresponsive in attempts to remedy the situation.

The wiring harness is rubbing against the bumper, causing it to wear and eventually cut through. This causes an error to my BSM/Cross Traffic alert. I have an extended warranty, but it doesn't cover it. This is a problem I have seen on the Bronco6G forums.

NHTSA #11715858

I am receiving Blind spot and cross traffic failure alerts in my vehicle dashboard indicating these systems are not working properly. This is a known issue by many Bronco owners. I believe its due to a bad installation design where the wires naturally rub up against the bumper and with weather exposure they are failing.

NHTSA #11661138

I had the cross-traffic sensor and blind spot detection sensors changed about a year after I bought my Bronco and the tech told me where the wires are housed it is wide open to the elements which cause the wires to fail. This was fixed under warranty and now 2 years later I have the same issue, and Ford will not fix since I am out of warranty. This is not only a design flaw but also a safety issue for someone who relies on those sensors to work.

In late March 2023, the touchscreen on my Bronco went dead, along with the USB ports in the console below. With the dead screen, I have no back up camera, which is a huge safety concern. Also, all other features managed by the touch screen are gone (no radio, no navigation, no hands free phone usage, etc.). I have been to the dealer twice, and they said we just have to wait for Ford engineers to send a patch to the SYNC system, because they think it has interfered with the APIM module. This may or may not be related to the open recall 22c27, because that is not the same issue as mine. But Ford just is telling me to wait for that recall to be completed, but for four months and counting they have not provided a patch for the 8-inch screen model that I have. I was driving on the highway with standard cruise control (I don't have adaptive cruise) and I went to press the brakes and the brake pedal was SUPER stiff and I had to press unreasonably hard to disengage the cruise control and slow down. When the pedal finally gave, I ended up slamming on the bakes so much that my passenger was startled and we both lurched forward due to our momentum. Afterwards, my brake light light came on, on the dashboard. I went to AutoZone to get a reading and it said it was the brake assist vacuum or something like that. This could have caused a very bad accident in too different ways. One, if I didn't stop in time due to the delayed braking from the stiff pedal or getting rear ended due to inadvertently slamming on the brakes at highway speed.

Bronco wire corrosion cross traffic refers to a known issue where wiring under the rear bumper, often for the blind spot/cross-traffic sensors, chafes, frays, and corrodes, causing system faults and failures, sometimes due to design flaws or environmental exposure to salt, requiring inspection and repair of the harness. This problem triggers error messages like "Cross Traffic System/Blind Spot System Fault" in the instrument cluster, impacting safety features, with potential fixes involving harness repair, protective sheathing, or sensor replacement. My car’s wiring was corroded due to this flaw and required a repair exceeding $1,000.

3 separate safety-related components have failed on my 2021 Ford Bronco, all of which correspond to open federal safety recalls that remain unremedied: 1. Infotainment/APIM Module & Backup Camera System (Recall Campaign 26V124): my infotainment screen fails to turn on, particularly in high-temperature conditions. When this occurs, the rearview/backup camera is completely non-functional. The vehicle displays no image when in reverse gear, eliminating all camera-assisted visibility behind the vehicle. This directly matches the conditions described in Recall 26V124, issued March 4, 2026. No remedy has been provided. 2. Digital Instrument Cluster / Dashboard: my digital dashboard intermittently fails to illuminate at vehicle startup. This occurs randomly and without warning. When it fails, the driver cannot see critical safety information including current speed, fuel level, engine temperature, or any warning indicators. Video documentation of this failure exists. This component is available for inspection upon request. 3. Low Pressure Fuel Pump (Recall Campaign 25V455): my vehicle has stalled on multiple occasions while in motion. During stall events, all dashboard warning lights illuminate simultaneously. This is consistent with the fuel delivery failure described in Recall 25V455, issued July 8, 2025, which states the fuel pump can fail causing loss of fuel pressure and an engine stall while driving. Once stopped, I turned the ignition off and waited a few seconds and then turned it back on again. The error messages all cleared and the Bronco accelerator reacted appropriately. I drove it straight to the dealership for inspection. They found the 210 connector was not making a good connection. They cleaned it and added electric grease and reconnected. Component or system that failed or malfunctioned: The fuel delivery system, specifically the fuel pump, which is subject to an active safety recall. The recall states that fuel pump failure can result in loss of fuel pressure and flow, leading to engine stall. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How safety was put at risk: A sudden engine stall while driving would result in an immediate loss of propulsion and power, creating a significant risk of collision, particularly at highway speeds or in traffic. This creates a dangerous situation for the driver, passengers, and surrounding vehicles due to the inability to accelerate or maintain speed. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center: The defect has been confirmed by the manufacturer through an official safety recall. At this time, there is no repair remedy available. The vehicle has not yet been repaired due to lack of an available fix. Has the vehicle or component been inspected: The vehicle has not yet been physically inspected for this specific failure because the recall remedy is not available. The defect has been acknowledged by the manufacturer as part of the active recall. Warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to failure: At this time, there is no warning indicating when or if the fuel pump may fail. The recall states the failure may occur without warning. No prior warning lamps or messages have reliably indicated when the failure could occur. Additional information: Due to the nature of this defect and the lack of an available repair, I no longer feel the vehicle is safe to operate. The uncertainty of a sudden engine stall has created ongoing safety concerns and financial hardship, as I am responsible for a vehicle that may fail without warning.

Our family was traveling from Lake George New York to Boston MA on Wednesday [XXX]. The anti-lock breaks were activated and we nearly collided with several cars but managed to pull into the emergency lane. The vehicle was not drivable after this incident because any pothole or bump on the highway, at speeds over 50 MPH, made the rear of the vehicle very unstable. It will skid and sway. Our vehicle is now undrivable and Ford says the only available solution is a "buy back" program and a solution will not be available until Q3 of 2025. This leaves us with a 4 year old vehicle with only 24k miles undrivable. This is not acceptable. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Four hours into a drive today, going down a fairly steep hill @ ~30mph into a 4 point intersection my Bronco lost all power, brakes and steering. I mean it had nothing. We barely made it thru the intersection because the cars coming directly at us slammed brakes. I had no control and went off the road into someone’s yard, barely missing their fence. It was the scariest thing we’ve ever encountered. My son in the back screaming STOP at the top of his lungs is burned in my brain. What makes all of this worse is that Ford just had it in the shop for 3 days because the week before when they had my Bronco in the shop for yearly inspection/oil change and under their care it had the first symptoms of this issue. I received an app notice of a battery failure AND at their request because of this new issue they wanted my car for a “longer look” the following week. Today was first time driving it since they handed it back to me (I use the valet service that picks up and drops it back to me). Ford could come back and say they will give us a new car and there’s no way I can ever convince my wife to get back in this car. She was absolutely freaked out as the cars coming towards us would have drilled her door. It took Ford 4 hours to come 17 miles to tow us (probably a contractor) to the local Ford dealer that was closed by the time it arrived. We had to call the fire department to cut the seatbelt off because the seatbelt was locked and getting tighter and we could not get it off his neck neck. As I called 911 I had to hold the seatbelt away from his neck from getting tighter, when the fire department got there their only option was to cut the seatbelt strap in order to remove it from his neck. Thankfully, quick thinking and holding the seatbelt away from his neck allowed me to be on the phone with 911 and when they got here allowed me to hold it away from his neck to keep it from choking him and potentially him turning blue from no oxygen. The seatbelt strap did leave a red mark on his neck from being wrapped around.

Steering1 queja

Within days of buying this 2021 Bronco in April 2022, the power steering and drive modes (e.g., Eco, Sport) stopped working and we got the following error message: [See Steering Assist Fault - Service Required] We called the dealership in Georgia, which is far from our home, and they advised us to take it to one closer to us; the problem would be covered under warranty. We made the first available appointment with the dealership in Havana FL and took our vehicle in on July 11th. We showed the photo saying "service required" and explained that every morning the drive modes don't work and the power steering usually does not work right away. We have to re-start the vehicle to get the power steering to work, but the drive modes don't work until later in the day (usually). We get the error messages shown repeatedly below saying "drive mode not available." Despite the service department at the dealership saying they identified the malfunctioning part, Ford sent us away without approving a warranty repair—citing a policy that because the service personnel could not report a computer code for the part, Ford will not pay to fix it. The problem continues and we continue to provide photos to Ford and ask them to fix this problem for us and for anyone else who is experiencing it.

Vehicle Speed Control,Engine1 queja

Multiple times the engine has failed to respond to the accelerator pedal when engaged from a cold stop. The delayed response has happened several times while attempting to merge into moving traffic so even a 1 second delay is both dangerous and scary from a driver perspective. The vehicle was taken in for service recently and no problems were identified after mechanic testing. However, I wonder if this problem is related to the ongoing investigation of defective valves in the 2.7L EcoBoost engine.
