Below are recalls and complaints reported to NHTSA for the 2025 Honda Cr V. This information is consumer-reported and provided for general informational purposes only. Vehicles like this may qualify under California lemon law depending on their individual repair history.
The following recalls were reported to NHTSA. A recall does not by itself establish that any individual vehicle is defective.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Honda Accord, Accord Hybrid, 2023-2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid, and 2025 Honda Civic and Civic Hybrid vehicles. The high-pressure fuel pump may crack and leak fuel.
Reported consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed February 20, 2025. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is PJW.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Acura Integra, Civic Type R, CR-V Hybrid, CR-V, HR-V, 2022-2025 Civic, Civic Hatchback, 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S, 2025 CR-V Fuel Cell EV, Civic Hybrid, and Civic Hatchback Hybrid vehicles. The steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle.
Reported consequence: Difficulty steering can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the worm gear spring and redistribute or add grease as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2024. Owners may contact Honda Customer Service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are SJS, MJU, QJT and VJV.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2025 Honda CR-V Fuel Cell EV vehicles. Coolant inside the fuel cell stack may leak into the fuel cell stack case, causing an internal short circuit. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 305, "Electric-powered vehicles: Electrolyte Spillage and Electrical Shock Protection."
Reported consequence: An internal short circuit in a fuel cell can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel cell stack assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 3 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is CN4. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning December 16, 2025.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2026 CR-V Hybrid, Accord Hybrid, and 2025-2026 CR-V Fuel Cell EV vehicles. When using the tire repair kit, pressure may build within the sealant bottle, causing the bottle cap to detach.
Reported consequence: A detached bottle cap can become a projectile and strike the user or others nearby, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the tire repair kit nozzle or sealant bottle, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed July 27, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in Fall 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is DOV. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning June 11, 2026.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid vehicles. The fuel feed hose may have been improperly installed, allowing fuel to leak. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 301, "Fuel System Integrity."
Reported consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will install a new fuel feed hose and connector cover, free of charge. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is TLS.
The following are consumer-reported complaints filed with NHTSA. These are unverified allegations and are not proof that any defect exists.
Washer fluid pours out onto windshield instead of spraying. This causes excessive use of washer fluid and a windshield that is not being cleaned effectively resulting in possible hazardous driving conditions due to visibility issues.
NHTSA #11741034
Driver's side mirror has a distorted view and vibrating, most noticable at highway speeds, especially at night. Took it to a dealership and they were not able to recreate the problem both times it was taken to them. This puts my safety and the safety of others at risk as the mirror has a distorted view, making it extremely difficult (nearly impossible) to accurately judge if a car is in the lane next to me when I wish to change lanes.
NHTSA #11738090
The drivers side wiper does not go far enough to the edge while wiping creating uncleared area which impact visibility
NHTSA #11734438
Wipers intermittently travel different distances and strike the A-pillar. The dealer could not reproduce, but you have video evidence. The vehicle is still under warranty, and the dealer refuses to repair. It has been happening the entire time we have had the vehicle. It currently has 18,000 miles 2025 Honda CR-V I have included video links: [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2025 Honda CRV Hybrid windshield wiper fluid does not spray. Instead the fluid is dribbled on to the sides of the front windshield but does not clean the majority of the windshield that you need to navigate with. This new design is highly INEFFECTIVE in cleaning window of dirt, bugs, grime, etc., and makes seeing clearly while driving very difficult and UNSAFE. Even after initiating the windshield wiper "spray" numerous times in a row, the window was left dirty and difficult to see through. Terrible, unsafe, design.
NHTSA #11721792
With temperature in mid 20sF, defrost system would not clear drivers side windshield. With freezing rain i had to stop and clear windshield multiple times. Inability of defrost system design to clear created a driving hazard. Service rep at dealer stated Honda design for defrost was not symmetrical ie drivers side was not focused the same as passenger side.
NHTSA #11723938
The drivers side wiper does not sweep the whole windshield. It stops short of the upright pillar (at the top of the sweep) by several inches. This extends the natural blind spot (created by the pillar) an extra few inches. When the wipers are put in service mode, it comes to where it should be, but only does this in service mode, not when actually using. The dealer inspected it and suggested the wiper arm could be repositioned. After attempting this, with even with the smallest possible adjustment, it sent the wiper smacking in to the pillar and had to be put back in it's original position. There are no system warnings about a problem with the wipers.
NHTSA #11708953
The windshield wiper stops at a variable distance form the end of the windshield on the driver's side. Sometimes several inches form the edge, not wiping all the way and at times it impacts the A pillar. This affects safety in rainy weather.
NHTSA #11707433
While driving my 2025 Hybrid CRV with 4K miles in a light rain, the wiper stopped going all the way to the edge and now only goes 90% of the way up no matter the setting. In a heavy rain, it will go 96%, and in accessory mode it goes up 100% of the way. I took it to the dealership and they said that this range of motion was standard, then showed me a video they took of a new CRV they had on the lot whose range of motion was slightly better (~95%). I pointed out the clearly visible grime line from when it was working correctly and how in accessory mode it goes up to the line. I also have the anecdote that in the summer I used it to clear pollen and it always went up all the way. They continued their stance that the operation was fine. Since it goes all the way up in accessory mode, I told them it must be a computer issue and asked them if they could reset/troubleshoot it. Since they had put off looking at this issue for the two days they had it at the dealership, they said they would need to address it at another time or keep it a third day. I just took it back and scheduled another appointment, as I need it for work. I am taking it in again, but from my post on the CRV sub-reddit many other new honda owners are experiencing the same issue. Driver's side mirror spontaneously cracked down the middle, potentially from cold temperature. The mirror was not hit by any object, just cracked out of nowhere. Taking it to Honda dealership next week, but online search reveals this seems to be a problem with these recent Honda models.
NHTSA #11704255
Windshield in my 2025 Honda CRV EX-L cracked open when I turned on my Heat defroster. Put a big huge crack in my windshield just from using the defroster.
NHTSA #11703484
Today (Saturday) was the coldest day since I got my car and I used the remote starter to heat up the car. When I got into the car 15 minutes later there was a crack in the side mirror that was not there the last time I drove it (Thursday) and the car was parked all day yesterday (Friday). I believe the cold temperature combined with the heating element in the mirror caused a crack in the glass. It looks like other CRV owners have had similar issues.
NHTSA #11701976
Windshield washer sprayer fluid runs off top of windshield causing bugs and dirt to be smeared making it difficult to see clearly through the windshield. This is a constant problem. No matter how long I spray it doesn’t help.
NHTSA #11693875
The fluid dispenser is virtually useless. It seems that instead of coming from the bottom of the windshield and squirting upwards on the windshield, it comes from the blades. This causes the washer fluid to squirt almost everywhere except where it's needed. This causes an instruction of vision if the windshield is exceptionally dirty. Seems like a terrible design flaw that Honda doesn't seem to acknowledge.
NHTSA #11684066
I copied the following from another complaint, as it describes the problem perfectly: My windshield wipers are ineffective. The liquid cleaner does not spray until the wipers are pointing out, thus causing the liquid spray to roll off the car and NOT clean the spots in the driver's field of vision. The miniscule amount of liquid left on the wipers simply smears the debris on the windshield resulting in a driving hazard
NHTSA #11682268
Windshield cracked with a small rock, vehicle is brand new and only has 150 miles on it. I’ve read several complaints from others with this same issue. Their glass seems to be very thin or poorly made. Very frustrating. Did not happen in my previous cars.

While driving 65 miles per hour, my sunroof spontaneously exploded. There was no rock or hail. We heard a loud bang and glass came into the car through the partially open interior visor.
NHTSA #11663834
Drivers door mirror glass vibrates excessively at highway speed causing dizziness and complete lack of visibility from the mirror.
NHTSA #11661796
I initially thought I was low on wiper-washer fluid but dealer told me that the new system had the washer fluid distributed from the windshield wiper instead of the stationary area under the wiper. On 1st night highway drive (3wks) and after attempting to wash the windshield of the crushed bugs; I was left with a mess of smashed bugs greatly impeding my ability to see. Not only is the flow of the washer fluid slow, but the mix of wind, car movement and the low flow of fluid, in concert with the wiper movement; resulted in very little fluid actually landing within the visual field of the windshield. Most of the fluid was either left of the driver field of sight or on the lower part of the Right side of the windshield. With the cycle of wiper passes all that could be heard was the crushing of the bugs. This is not at all a feature concern discovered in my pre-acquisition car feature search or in any published report. Other than not driving at night I don't know what I can do to maintain my safety driving the necessary highways that I do. I am also left to wonder about the impact on the integrity and function of the wiper blades. Photo included is after initial wipe the accumulation became worse with each attempt to clear the bugs from the glass; they were only smeared more and more with each wipe action.
NHTSA #11660498
The sunroof/moonroof glass spontaneously shattered. At 245 in the afternoon at 65 miles an hour no other vehicles near it. The day was clear and the temperature was in the low 70s. Heard a bang and pulled over to discover the glass had shattered. There was flying glass had another vehicle been near they would be been pelted with broken glass. The potential for injury of the passenger of the vehicle had the shade not been closed. The fact that the glass was not there it was hard to dispute that it happened. The local dealership put it off as an insurance issue rather than dealing with it. Insurance is moving forward. I believe it was a factory defect an should be looked into as a recall. No warnings just broken glass.
NHTSA #11740197
While driving on highway , sunroof exploded. there were no other vehicles around , we did not hit anything. The sunroof exploded while were driving 65 MPD . Only glass left was about 2 inched all around the seal.

On 02/03/2026 while driving on a flat smooth asphalt highway at 55 miles per hour our sunroof just exploded. We didn't see anything hitting us although we did meet a few oncoming cars and trucks, but none were close when this happened. Luckily we had the inside blind shut so we didn't get covered with glass chips. Neither my wife or myself ever remember opening the sunroof or the inside blind so we don't even know if the sunroof would move of if it was stuck. Called Honda dealership locally to see if there was a recall for this breakage, but they there was none and it would have to turned into our insurance. The new glass is ordered, but we have to keep our 2025 CRV garaged and only driven very short trips. It will take 8 days to get this repaired. We have 15,000 miles on our CRV and about 2/3 of the glass is missing.
NHTSA #11715932
I was driving on the highway when my sunroof suddenly shattered out of nowhere. There were no vehicles directly in front of or beside me, and the weather was clear. The sound was extremely loud, sounded like a gunshot and it happened completely out of nowhere. There was no visible impact from rocks or debris. Instead of a small crack, a large hole was left in the sunroof. This appears to have been a spontaneous glass failure and is very concerning from a safety standpoint.
NHTSA #11714298
Car safely parked in driveway was turned on to defrost snow from it (no ice). When completed, drivers side mirror was cracked from corner to corner. No possible impact to the vehicle and had not been moved, so had to be the result of defrosting. Called dealer to schedule appointment for replacement and was told this would not be covered. Owned car for 10 months.
NHTSA #11711843
While driving at 65-75mph down a highway the sunroof glass shattered outward spraying the hood of my vehicle with glass shards. I was fortunate my interior sunroof cover was closed but had it not been glass would have been all over me. Honda inspected and denied the warranty claim. I now have a claim open with a repair shop. They have preliminarily inspected it and it is just glass, nothing wrong with the track. Could have been weak glass.

January 18, 2025 Subject: Request for Review – Windshield Crack on 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid Dear Honda Customer Relations Team, I am writing to respectfully request a review of a windshield issue on my wife’s Subject 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid, which we purchased new in the summer of 2025. The vehicle currently has approximately 16,000 miles. Recently, a crack developed in the windshield measuring roughly four inches in length. The crack originates at the driver-side edge near the frame and began with a very small divot. There is no visible impact crater or evidence of damage from a foreign object. Based on its location and appearance, I believe this may be consistent with an stress-related edge crack rather than road debris. Our local dealership has declined coverage, which I understand may be standard procedure at the dealership level. However, given the vehicle’s age, mileage, and the nature of the crack, I am respectfully requesting that Honda Corporate review this matter for possible warranty consideration or goodwill assistance. My wife and I have been Honda owners for over 20 years. We have consistently chosen Honda vehicles for their quality and reliability, and we have also purchased Honda vehicles for our children, who continue to drive them today. Our loyalty to the Honda brand has always been rooted in trust—trust in engineering, and trust in standing behind the product. I am not seeking special treatment, only a fair review of the circumstances. We value Honda and hope to continue that relationship for many years to come. I have attached four photographs of the windshield, including both full-view and close-up images of the crack for your review. Thank you for your time and consideration. I appreciate your review and look forward to your response. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Safety Issue: Absence of Low Windshield Washer Fluid Indicator I am reporting a significant vehicle safety concern involving my 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L, which is not equipped with a low windshield washer fluid level indicator. This omission created a serious safety risk to myself and other motorists during real-world driving conditions. While driving on a Michigan highway during a severe winter storm, I unknowingly ran out of windshield washer fluid. Due to snow, ice, road salt, and grime typical of winter driving in Michigan, my windshield quickly became dirty and my forward visibility was severely reduced. Because there was no warning or indicator to alert me that the washer fluid level was low, I had no advance notice of the issue. As a direct result, I was forced to pull over onto the highway shoulder at night, in dark conditions and heavy traffic, in order to refill the washer fluid reservoir. Stopping on an active highway shoulder under these conditions posed a substantial safety hazard, increasing the risk of collision to myself and to passing vehicles. This situation was entirely preventable if the vehicle had provided a basic low washer fluid warning. I later confirmed with a Honda dealership that the low windshield washer fluid indicator is not included as a feature on my 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L. This confirms that the issue is not a malfunction but a deliberate omission in vehicle design or feature availability. I am further concerned because I also own a 2023 Acura RDX A-Spec Advance (VIN: [XXX] ), which similarly does not include a low windshield washer fluid indicator, despite being a premium vehicle and Acura being Honda’s luxury brand. This suggests a broader design or cost-cutting decision across Honda/Acura vehicles rather than an isolated model-level oversight. Vehicles sold in northern U.S. states such as Michigan, where winter conditions routinely involve snow, ice, freezing temperatures, and heavy road salt use, depend hea INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My parked 2025 Honda CR-V had front radar sensor stolen in daytime . I am fearful this can happen again due to easy assessibility
NHTSA #11694042
the Key fob separates from the physical key too easily. This has happened twice in 3 months resulting in one total loss of key - I was unable to access my vehicle when this happened. This could be a safety issue. The button for separating the key from the fob is raised making it too easy for it to be accidently pushed.

Driving at 55 mph on a highway and the sunroof spontaneously shattered. No construction, no road work, nothing in my video shows anything kicked up by a car etc. have a front and rear view camera on the car. Nothing was over my car as well while driving. That is seen on the video as well. Believe this will be a future recall. I am not the only one who has experienced this. Honda did nothing for me. They said you have to make an insurance claim. I could've been seriously hurt had I not had the sun slide in the closed position
NHTSA #11691947
The sunroof completely shattered with no impact of an object while driving on the freeway. This but myself and my children at risk for harm had i had the sunroof visor open. Glass would have hit myself while driving and my baby while she was in the back seat. I am currently in the process of this being inspected. There were no warning signs or lights that came on.

As I were driving down the interstate at 50 mph, I'd heard a loud POP, the sunroof exploded into a million tiny pieces of glass. When we got home, I started doing some Internet searching and found that shattering sunroofs was a longstanding problem with Honda vehicles especially, basically all vehicles with sunroofs. From some posts I was reading, I saw that many dealers were refusing to accept these as a warranty claim and some insurance companies were calling these experiences an "act of God" and refusing to pay claims. I saw at least one class action lawsuit against Honda for shattering sunroofs. I went to my dealer (where I had purchased the vehicle) all prepared to have a discussion with them about liability, but I was pleasantly surprised and angry when they said the broken glass would not be replaced under warranty. This was a brand new 2025 Honda CRV purchased with 7 miles at the time of purchased. I had to go through my insurance agency for repairs because this was not covered under Honda Dealership Warranty which I'd had purchased. Total Repairs for Parts and Labor was around 611.74. This is a major safety issue for all drivers.

I purchased a CRV Hybrid Sport L and the side mirror is distorted view (like blurry). It's causing me headaches... oddly enough, however the passenger/rear view mirror is fine

As we were driving on the freeway, our Rear window shattered on its own. You can hear like an explosion of glass. We checked our cameras and nothing was thrown to our car. It just completed shattered on its own and we are confused as to why. It is a huge safety concern as we had a minor in the car. We called Honda and they said that they could not do anything, which is upsetting considering that we have to pay out of pocket for something that may be a defect as it shattered on its own.

Reversed several feet out of parking space in unobstructed lot. Car abruptly stopped and most systems shut down. Driver depressed brakes to assess. Two warning lights were present - battery and engine. Driver ensured parking brake off and brake hold off. No vehicles, people, or other objects nearby. Driver slowly depressed gas pedal; car would not budge. Driver depressed brakes and shifted into drive; driver slowly depressed gas pedal but car would not respond at all. Driver turned the car completely off. Upon restarting, battery/engine light turned off and car drove normally to dealership. The car had <250 miles on it at the time. Dealer stated that no engine codes were retained. Dealer stated verbally that it is likely a "computer glitch" as the car is new and "just breaking in." Dealer stated that car "probably won't do it again." Written documents indicate that dealer suspects a failure in reverse automatic braking system. After car released to owner without addt'l testing, owner tested reverse automatic braking system. The system worked as expected - the car braked when it detected a close object in its field, it omitted the correct audible warning sounds and visual lights, and continued to perform when the driver depressed the braking system. Additionally, due to the newness of the car, the driver is extremely confident that no objects were around - the driver had been parking far from other vehicles to avoid dings. This "computer glitch" is potentially fatal as the car came to a sudden, complete stop while in motion and was unresponsive in any gear, even after brakes were applied and released. The owner drives on the freeway daily. The dealer could not say with confidence that the "glitch" would not occur in drive at high speed. Imagine driving 65 mph on a freeway and your car coming to a complete, sudden stop - not a rolling stop or a slowdown where you might inch to shoulder - just a completely dead car in the middle of a freeway.

Spontaneous explosion of moon roof glass - I was driving about 70mph on the highway near my home, it was a windy/partially sunny day and for no reason my moon roof glass exploded, sounded like a small bomb and in the rear view mirror i could see a lot of debris coming down. I then drove to a location where I safely parked and took a picture of the broken moon roof glass. I did not hear or see anything that would have caused this - it was spontaneous. Occurred about 330pm.

The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V- difficulty steering wheel, drives a little stiff. lane assist malfunctioning, cruise control malfunctioning. The vehicle was previously taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with an issue related to NHTSA Campaign Number 24V744000 (Steering). The contact stated the issue persisted. The dealer was contacted again that the issue had reoccurred but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

NHTSA #11717260
having issue with steering clicking and slipping when turning - looked up recall by year make and model and car showed steering gear issue - but the recall did not show up by vin - took the car for maintenance and had them check - they found the car indeed has the steering gear issue and needs to be fixed - I'm concerned about why the car has the issue which shows by make and model but not by vin and also about another recall on fuel pump that also shows for same year make and model but not by vin

The steering feels notchy on the highway and if is difficult to make small steering corrections
NHTSA #11721897
Unknown: Steering is stiff. Minor changes like maintaining lanes or changing lanes is becoming increasingly difficult. Large motions are fluid. It feels like it’s sticky. When I change lanes or other minor changes it takes a lot of work to move the car back to its original position. Having issues where it gets caught in certain positions causing significant steering issues.
NHTSA #11723375
At highway speed, the steering has ratcheting feel. Move it by 0.5 degree, and it tries to boost the move by 1 degree or 2. At parking lot speed, when the steering is turned to dead ends, the stepped boost is also noticeable. This is likely related to the "sticky steering" recall (NHTSA 24V-744). The problem still persists for vehicles manufactured after the end date of the recall
NHTSA #11731941
When driving on the highway and making small adjustments to keep straight, the steering system will get stuck and suddenly jerk. This causes you to overcorrect and you have to steer back the other direction. This issue has continued getting worse and now affects the car at speeds >20 MPH. This used to only occur at >60 MPH.
NHTSA #11705527
I am experiencing a “sticky, notchy” steering issue on my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. When the steering wheel is approximately 1–2 degrees off center (either left or right), the steering resists movement and then suddenly jerks when correcting. This makes it difficult to make smooth corrections and maintain a steady lane position. The issue only occurs after driving for about 30–40 minutes, which suggests it may be related to component warm-up or prolonged operation. The problem does not occur during short drives. This issue began about two month ago and now happens consistently once the vehicle has been driven long enough. I brought the vehicle to the dealer, but they were unable to reproduce the issue because their test drive lasted only about four minutes. No diagnostic findings or repairs were performed.
NHTSA #11710672
I have lost steering power on two separate occasions in the last week. When this happens the steering wheel locks in place. Once while I was reversing, I went to turn the wheel and the steering wheel was frozen in place. I pulled back into the spot put the car in park and then back in reverse and the wheel was still locked in place. I had to shut off the car and restart it 5 times for the wheel to unlock itself. The second incident was while I was driving. I was doing around 40 MPH and went to make a lane change and the wheel was locked in place. This lasted closed to 1.5 miles. Finally I was able to get some movement (It felt like when you have a flat tire in the front which makes it tough to steer-I did not have a flat.) Once pulled over I had to turn the car off and on for around 15 minutes until I could move the steering wheel again. I brought it to the dealership yesterday, they could not duplicate the issue and there were no codes, so there was nothing they can do. There was a previous recall of a steering gear box r, my car was not effected because it was produced after the original recall according to the dealership. When both incidents occured there were no warnings, the wheel just locked itself. Not being able to steer without warning is a huge safety risk. I have joined Honda forums and others are complaining about the same issue.
NHTSA #11697575
The contact owned a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH, as the contact slowed to follow a slight right hand curve on the road, the steering wheel pulled to the right. The contact stated that the vehicle drove onto the shoulder, the contact attempted to steer the vehicle back onto the road but the steering was not responding. The contact stated that he was able to turn the steering wheel to the left, however the vehicle was locked in a right turn and then crashed into a small tree as the vehicle was driving down a slight embankment. The contact stated that he did not see any warning lights and as the vehicle crashed into the tree the air bags deployed and the vehicle rolled onto the driver's side and continued to roll 3 times. The vehicle had come to a stop in an upright position on the left hand side of the road. The contact stated that the right front wheel, axel and tie rods had sheared off of the vehicle. The contact stated that he and his 3 sons were transported to the emergency room. The contact stated that he and the son who was sitting in the front passenger seat had minor abrasions on hands and heads and were released from the ER. The two sons in the back passenger seats, the son seated in the right passenger seat had shattered his right index finger and had abrasions on both arms. The contact stated that his other son only had abrasions on both legs on his shins and both arms. The police and EMT were on scene. The police wrote an incident report. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The contact stated that his insurance provider declared the vehicle a total loss. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (Steering), however his VIN was not part of the recall selection. The failure mileage was approximately 7,500.
Allegedly reported: 4 injuries (as reported to NHTSA). NHTSA #11673599
Description of the Problem: I purchased a 2025 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid in August 2024. The vehicle developed a steering noise and clicking issue early in ownership, first reported at 21,571 miles on November 6, 2024. The problem persisted through four separate warranty repair attempts at authorized Honda dealerships (Kirkland, Bellevue, and Seattle). Despite multiple repairs, including replacement of the cable reel and steering components, the issue was only confirmed and resolved by a Honda field engineer on April 25, 2025, at 49,657 miles. American Honda acknowledged the problem and opened Case #XXXand later a mediation case #XXX, but failed to respond to my Lemon Law resolution request. This prolonged defect affected vehicle safety and steering control stability, especially during low-speed turns and rough roads. Documentation of all visits and correspondence with Honda has been provided. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The clock spring assembly makes a noise whenever I turn the steering - this was once fixed through replacement by long beach honda and a couple of months later the issue came up again. Now, the dealer says Honda should be addressing it. The issue today till exists on vehicle and Honda refuses to take any action which is very weird as many users on online threads report the same issue. I am not sure if this might be related to the recall number (24V744000) but my car shows no open recalls. Long Beach Honda confirmed the issue and replaced the part once, but the issue came up again after a couple of months itself. see this thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/crv/s/vGOzgTLDNO

While driving to store for errands today, 09May26, I came to a stop at a red light with intent to turn right next. I turned on my right blinker and turned a bit to the right and rolled forward to gain visibility to my left as I came to a complete stop. There was a car coming from the left that was preparing to turn left. I observed that car turn on its left blinker, and slow down while entering its turn. I confirmed the intersection was clear and there was nothing in front of me. I applied the gas, then looked left to confirm the other car was completing its left turn. While I was slowly accelerating, but before my eyes returned to the road ahead of me, the accident avoidance system sounded an audible alarm, I think I recall seeing an orange dash warning, and the system seemed to simultaneously trigger a hard brake apply. This was akin to a panic stop. I knew there was a truck approaching behind me. Although a bit stunned and dazed, I recovered as quickly as I could, and continued to complete my right turn to make sure that vehicle did not collide with me. The hard brake apply was so sudden, my head and body pitched forward (as much as permitted by the seat belt). After returning home, I realized my right shoulder was sore, presumably from the brake apply. I worry that this system could trigger the brakes like this at a much higher speed, in a turn, or with my children driving the car (they are just [XXX] and [XXX] old). I have since reached out to the dealership that I purchased the car from for assistance (LaFontaine Honda in Dearborn, MI). I just bought the car (used) last Friday, 5/1. I am a technical project manager that has supported automotive brake development projects for multiple companies and customers for 26 years. I know how these systems are supposed to work, and this one seems flawed, and potentially dangerous in my opinion. I would be happy to discuss further if NHTSA has questions. The automatic braking system provides warning and brakes the car automatically with no trigger to do so. Has happened several times. My safety is at risk due to the vehicle braking for no reason while in traffic disrupting my own controlling the vehicle. The car is at dealer currently however they saying something "HAD" to trigger it and that I just wasn't aware. Not able to recreate at current moment.

Front collision system is not working since purchase of vehicle(7/2025). It does not give any visual or sound warnings within the specified settings. System is marked "on" on settings. Have checked settings multiple times. Dealer checked and said system was "off" which is questionable diagnosis. No change since they turned"on"(/2025). Have had numerous events that should have triggered the system to display visual alert. Am familiar with the system as had same feature on previous CRV. This is valuable feature to prevent accidents that is not working.

While driving my 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L on October 3, 2025, at approximately 8:00 AM PST, the automatic emergency braking system (Collision Mitigation Braking System) activated unexpectedly. There were no vehicles in front or behind me, and road conditions were normal. The sudden braking could have caused a rear-end collision if another vehicle had been nearby. This incident raises serious safety concerns. I have learned that similar issues have been reported by other Honda owners. I am requesting an investigation into this malfunction and whether a recall or software update is necessary.

Driving at 60mph. No car in front, behind or to the side. Out of the blue slammed on brake fully. My foot was on the gas the whole time. Slowed rapidly to 20mph before I could continue on. If someone had been behind me they would have hit me. I'm now frightened of my own car. Took it to the dealer service department and they said that it's very sensitive and that even an empty plastic grocery bag blowing around could set it off.

Twice in the last week while driving with the Adaptive Cruise Control on the car has gone into the "collision mitigation" mode where the brakes engage with no warning but there was nothing in front of the car to cause this to happen. Both times were going up a small hill and on the other side of the hill was a police cruiser so we presume there was something (RADAR?) that the police were using that caused the car to sense we were about to collide. These situations are a shock to the driver and passengers, and would be worse if the car following us were to rear end us! The radar conflicts should be nothing new to the NHSTA. While driving along in a normal manner the anti collision braking system applies the brakes causing a violent de acceleration of the vehicle, throwing the occupants in the car forward in a very disconcerting manner along with throwing articles in the car forward violently towards the occupants and windshield. There was no discernible reason why the vehicle should have done this as there was nothing in front of the car that was subject to an uncontrollable collision. This has happened to me and my wife a total of three time and we haven’t owned the vehicle for even a year yet. The first time this happened the problem was brought to the attention of the selling dealer who in their dealership shop said their technicians had gone over the car electronics and sensors and found nothing wrong. They moved our “easy pass” transponder and said it may have caused the mishap. I don’t think so as it was not within the “eyesight “ of the forward looking camera.

When starting the car up and backing out of my garage It sounds like my rotors or brakes are grinding I took it to the dealer, and they told me that that was standard on the 2025 CRV. It is grinding so loud and hard like it is cutting into the rotors. I need someone to take responsibility. My car is only less than one year old.It will be one year on 2/20/2026. This is my seventh c r v and i've never had this problem before.

The braking system failed. As I was attempting to park my car, with my foot on the brake, the vehicle suddenly lurched forward unexpectedly, hitting the parked car in front of me. Both my vehicle and the parked vehicle were damaged. If anyone had been in the car's path, they would have been injured. My vehicle bounced off the parked car and continued lurching forward while I actively tried to stop the car by applying the brake. At no point during this incident was the accelerator pressed. No warning lights, alerts, or messages appeared on the dashboard before or during the event. Have not yet taken my vehicle to the Honda dealer.

At approximately 6:00 PM on December 29, 2025, I was parking my vehicle in the Montague Foods parking lot at 8761 Ferry St in Montague, MI 49437. As I was pulling into the parking space, I had firm pressure on the brake pedal and was not pressing the accelerator. Despite braking, the vehicle suddenly lurched forward unexpectedly. The vehicle struck the parked car in front of me with such force that it moved the large SUV, bounced off, and continued to lurch forward repeatedly. While I was actively trying to stop the vehicle with the brake pedal, it continued moving forward, ran over a curb, and behaved in an uncontrolled, bucking manner. I would describe the experience as similar to a bucking bronco. During the incident, I was yelling, “What is happening?!?” due to the unexpected and frightening behavior of the vehicle. At no point during this incident was the accelerator pedal pressed. No warning lights, alerts, or messages appeared on the dashboard before or during the event that I can recall. Both my vehicle and the parked vehicle sustained damage. Fortunately, there were no injuries. This incident raises serious concerns about the braking, acceleration, or vehicle control systems in this model. I believe this represents a significant and serious safety risk not only to the driver of the vehicle but also pedestrians and other vehicles. I am afraid to drive the car again. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate this issue to determine whether it represents a vehicle defect affecting safety, and require Honda to issue any necessary recall or remedy needed

On December 29, 2025, while pulling into a parking space, my Honda CRV Hybrid unexpectedly accelerated in spite of my foot being firmly on the brake. The unintended acceleration resulted in a collision with the vehicle that was parked in front of my vehicle. The security video footage shows clearly that my brake lights were consistently on during the collision. My braking system clearly did not work. My vehicle collided with the vehicle parked in front of it, moved that vehicle to the side and continued moving forward over a parking lot curb and came to a stop. If someone had been in front of my vehicle, they would have been seriously injured if not dead. There were no warning lights, messages or other symptoms prior to the unintended acceleration. My vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and the manufacturer and they could not reproduce the problem. This is the most concerning aspect of the situation. They want me to take the vehicle back and to continue driving it when there is clearly a problem.

Over a distance of 1,718 miles, I measured my vehicle’s actual fuel consumption by recording odometer readings and fuel volume at each refill. I then compared these values to the average fuel economy (MPG) displayed on the vehicle's trip computer. The dashboard consistently underreported fuel consumption by approximately 8% ± 2%, always showing more optimistic (i.e., better) fuel economy than actually achieved. This discrepancy is repeatable and was observed over multiple refueling intervals. The vehicle and its onboard display system are available for inspection upon request. This inaccurate fuel economy reading does not present a direct safety hazard, but it can mislead drivers into overestimating range and efficiency, and may influence consumer decisions based on performance data that does not match real-world usage. Additionally, such behavior—if widespread—could be considered a form of consumer deception. I submitted a detailed written request to an authorized Honda dealership (Victory Honda of San Bruno) asking them to compare actual fuel consumption to the displayed value under controlled conditions. However, the dealership did not perform the required measurements or reset the trip computer, and no technical analysis or documentation was provided. The manufacturer’s customer service reviewed the complaint but closed the case without addressing the technical discrepancy or providing a specification that defines acceptable error for the fuel economy display. There were no warning lights, error messages, or symptoms indicating a malfunction. The issue was discovered independently through manual tracking of fuel usage versus mileage. I have attached documentation including my full correspondence with Honda Customer Service, fuel receipts for each fill-up, photographs of the dashboard display showing average fuel consumption, and the official Service Report from Victory Honda.

As I was driving it felt as if the car was running a bit rough, hesitating/sputtering a bit when I pressed on or let up on the gas. As I pulled into the grocery store parking lot and slowed to go over a speed bump I noticed what looked like the battery indicator show up next to the speedometer & completely lost power. I put it in neutral and tried to restart it. It was as if the battery had run down and then it finally caught but sputtered. I revved the engine and was finally able to pull into a parking spot. I shut the car down for a couple minutes then restart it to drive back home. It still did the hesitation/sputtering thing on the way home. It continued the next day on my 20 mile commute into work but has been driving fine for a couple days now.

Approximate Mileage on Car: 26500 Make/Model/Trim: Honda CRV Hybrid Sport-L Location: Manheim and Lancaster Counties, Pennsylvania Date of Incident: 1/17/26 Weather: Light snow, under 3", mostly plowed/salted surfaces While driving in light snowy road conditions, the vehicle failed to decelerate appropriately when the brake pedal was firmly applied. The driver was operating the vehicle cautiously and at reduced speeds under 20mph, appropriate for winter conditions. Snow accumulation was less than approximately 3 inches, and the roads were mostly plowed and treated with salt. Despite firm brake application, there was no noticeable ABS pulsing or vibration, and the vehicle continued to slide forward with minimal reduction in speed, right through a stop sign and then again at a 4-way traffic light intersection. Both times, the braking response felt delayed or ineffective, resulting in a significantly extended stopping distance. Steering control while braking was limited, leading to fishtailing and spinning across the road. This did not feel like normal loss of traction or typical ABS engagement. The behavior was unexpected given the relatively moderate road conditions and the cautious driving behavior. No warning lights were immediately displayed during the incident. The experience felt like a loss of effective braking capability in winter conditions, creating a serious safety concern. This condition increases the risk of collision due to the inability to stop the vehicle as expected, even when driven cautiously in moderately snowy, plowed, and salted road conditions. A driver has no reliable way to compensate when braking response is inconsistent or delayed. The vehicle is marketed as AWD and suitable for adverse weather conditions. The braking behavior was inconsistent with expectations and with prior vehicles driven by the driver under similar winter conditions for over 40 years.

This braking issue happened on 4 occasions. While in stop and go traffic I would be braking, nursing the brakes the car would take over and slam me to a complete stop. It would not go again until I hit the gas. On two of those occasions the car behind me had to move into the nxt lane or over to the shoulder. The last time the seatbelt caught me so hard I had shoulder and neck pain for about 3 weeks (I work in rehab so my co workers worked on my neck and shoulders)I did take it to Honda after the first two incidences and they said there was nothing wrong, that’s just how the sensors are. I asked if the sensors could be turned off and they replied No. After the last incident where my shoulder and neck got hurt and the poor guy behind me almost hit the wall on the shoulder, I went the next day and traded it in. I lost my 5K that I put down and the car depreciated by several thousand in 4mos but it was not worth driving it and ending up in a major accident with major injuries to myself or another driver.

I purchased this 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid on 11/06/2024 from Tower Honda in Longview, Texas. I purchased the vehicle with the Hankook Kinergy GT tires already on there, and these tires are still on here till this day. On January 19th, 2026, I went in for an oil change, and my service advisor mentioned a tire rotation. Once they were finished with the vehicle he did share with me that I only had 10%-20% tread life left. I only have 32,176 miles on my vehicle, and after researching, the tread life on these tires is 70,000 - 75,000 miles. Their are customers that have, and or having the same problem that I am having. During my research Hankook Tires are known to have premature tread wear, tread separation/sidewall issues, poor longevity, and sometimes difficulty warrant claims. I can't believe dealerships would even allow these type of tires on vehicles knowing that the tread life and value is horrible, but I guess at the end of the day, everyone is trying to make a sale, and safety doesn't matter. I think Hankook Tires better take heed at the complaints, and issues of their tires. These serious issues can turn into legal matters for this company. My tire size is 235/60R18

103H tire So after I get the car from dealership, the next week I had a sign or tire low pressure by the dashboard and I start checking everyday and I figured out that is specifically is by the driver side tire is low pressure. First I took it to discount tire to see and they said I don't see any flat tire or any issues and he pump them all and tried to balance them . But still the sign in the dashboard so I decided to take it to dealership and they said maybe only the dashboard computer and they fixed it and was not showing that day as the sign went from TEMPS setting. Next day I have the sign again pops up and I scheduled second appointment with the Honda west dealership to check entire tire. They did and said we didn't see anything wrong and we fixed it again in the dashboard.i went home and next day same issue again the dashboard sign shows low pressure and also the tire itself went low pressure was not balanced everytime they blow air on it and goes low again in few minutes.i bring it again for third time and the worse sinario is that the mechanical agent touch something in the engine and the oil explodes all over the engine areas causing leak and smoke all over and oil splashed everywhere inside and outside and I have videos and photos.

Mileage at the time was 6600 approximately. Car was purchased new last summer in Utah. Could not figure out what happened at first until we stopped the car at an exit. Glass was bulged up with the middle missing.

Twice, while making a right turn the car braked on me, I assume because a car was in the other lane of the road I was turning into. This could have been a problem and could have caused an accident if someone was behind me and my car stopped suddenly

On April 7, 2025, we bought a new 2025 Honda CRV EX. After driving it for a few weeks, we noticed that the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) is not functioning. And another safety feature, the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system is visual only (not audible) and appears only when our vehicle is 5-6 feet from a vehicle in front. Obviously, this distance is insufficient to properly react in order to avoid an accident. According to the car manual, “the CMBS system can assist when it determines there is a possibility of your vehicle colliding with another vehicle in front…an oncoming vehicle in front, a pedestrian, or someone riding a bicycle. CMBS is designed to alert you when the potential for a collision is determined, as well as assist in reducing speed, avoiding collisions, and reducing collision severity.” With regard to the non-functioning CMBS, we brought the car back to the dealer several times to check on the lack of this system, but their service department could not detect the CMBS system either. They tested other new Honda CRV EX models and even in those cars they could not detect the CMBS system. On June 16, 2025 (received June 18), we sent a letter to Honda headquarters (see attached) asking their assistance in addressing this deficiency. We followed up with 2 phone calls on July 25 and August 13. Unfortunately, to no avail. No response received. From a safety point of view, we are concerned by the lack of the CMBS feature as well as the short distance warning of the FCW system.

As I was pulling into a parking space inside a parking structure, ground floor, my car suddenly accelerated, jumped the curb, going through landscape hedge and landing on front hood of a parked vehicle outside of the parking structure. I heard the engine accelerate, but had no way of stopping or controlling the car. A very similar accident took place in this car on [XXX]. Same situation: pulling into a parking space, car suddenly accelerates; no way to stop vehicle in time to avoid accident. As I was pulling into a parking space, the car suddenly accelerated, ran through bushes, down a slope across a sidewalk hitting a city utility box. and jumped the curb finally stopping on the street. no other vehicles were involved and no injuries. I did not report at the time of the incident, because I thought I must have done something wrong. However a similar event occurred on May 29, 2026 (See Complaint #11743489) which leads me to believe there may be a defect in the car.

COMPONENTS: Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Keeping Support, Electronic Power Steering. INCIDENT: On 05/12/2026, upon vehicle startup, a total failure of the driver-assist safety suite occurred. Dashboard indicators displayed malfunctions for: Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assistance (LKAS), and a "Steering Wheel Malfunction" warning. The vehicle was inspected at Greeley Honda on the same day (Mileage: ~56k). The dealership confirmed the front radar sensor, located behind the emblem, is defective. Despite no evidence of external impact or damage, the dealership quoted $3,900 for a total replacement of the grille, emblem, and sensor. SAFETY RISK: The failure has completely disabled the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), removing the vehicle's ability to provide emergency autonomous braking. The accompanying "Steering Wheel Malfunction" indicates an error in the Electronic Power Steering (EPS) torque sensor or LKAS integration, which creates a risk of unpredictable steering assistance. These failures, combined with a cascade of distracting warning lights, pose an unreasonable safety risk during operation. REMEDY SOUGHT: The dealership failed to explain the internal cause of failure or why a cosmetic grille replacement is required to fix a safety sensor. I am seeking a manufacturing investigation. American Honda has not offered a remedy for this critical safety component failure. This appears to be a premature failure of a non-wear item that renders primary safety systems inoperable. I have consented to share my contact information with the manufacturer to facilitate a resolution.

I am writing to formally report the theft of a sensor that occurred on 05/20/2025, which I believe was a direct result of its insecure placement. Unfortunately, its position left it vulnerable to unauthorized access and theft. I would like to raise the concern that the placement and securing method of the sensor did not adequately consider the risk of theft, especially in an area with public or easy access. I request that the matter be investigated thoroughly and that steps be taken to prevent such incidents in the future, such as: •Reviewing placement protocols for all outdoor or publicly accessible sensors, •Enhancing physical security measures (e.g., tamper-proof casings, CCTV coverage), •And, replacing the stolen equipment promptly. The car has several safety problems due to the censor missing critical safety features.

Date of Accident: April 13, 2026 I drove into our church parking lot and then parked next to my husband’s car and was totally stopped and in the parking space. I thought I had my foot on the brake. After a split second, it accelerated and jumped the curb of the parking space at a very fast speed. I had no control of the car. I sheared off a heavy metal sidewalk railing and was headed for the brick church (church is on a berm above parking lot), but I managed to steer away to miss the church and a large tree. I steered off the berm and into empty parking lot – still traveling at high speed. I finally threw it into neutral to get it to stop because it was continuing toward a busy street with lots of traffic. Neutral stopped it. No air bags deployed. The front and side of the car that hit the metal railing sustained $6,500 damage. Towed it to collision repair. When we asked at the Columbia, MO, Honda dealer’s service department, they said because the air bags didn’t deploy, that it was probably operator’s error and nothing they could do. We didn’t feel that it was operator error and reported to the assistant General Manager of Honda in a personal meeting. We asked to have the Honda field engineer exam the car. Instead, they had their district service supervisor exam the car. Their conclusion: they could find nothing wrong with the car. After reading online reports of almost identical accidents with this model, we decided it was too dangerous to drive and sold it back to the Honda dealer.

My 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid seems to randomly accelerate on its own. This has happened at least 4 or 5 times over the past year. At first I thought I was imagining it but then I noticed it happened again, multiple times. Each time I was NOT pressing the gas pedal nor at any time was I using cruise control. I never use the cruise control. The vehicle seems to accelerate on its on for about 3-4 seconds then stops when I press the break. Clearly uncontrollable and unexpected acceleration of the vehicle puts me, my passengers and others are at risk. I called my local Honda Dealer Service Department and was told that unless I can recreate the random and spontaneous acceleration at the dealership then they won't be able to diagnosis or write for the issue. The Honda Service Rep said sense I have no idea when it is going to happen again he cannot set a appointment for me to come in without having a current issue. Because the acceleration is random and because I cannot recreate it at will, the problem has NOT been confirmed by a dealer or service center and the vehicle has not been inspected. The acceleration issue is random and spontaneous with no warning lamps, no messages and no other symptoms prior to. Once it stops it may no happen again for weeks or months. However as mentioned about it has happened at least 4 to 5 times within the past year with the most recent occurrence on March 6th 2026 ----End-----

On 3/17/26, my husband and I started heading N on RT 83 to a medical appointment in our 2025 Honda CR-V Touring Sport. We were doing between 40 to 50 miles/hr. Twenty minutes later, we smelled faint smoke which was attributed to the trucks driving around us. Upon exit to our next route we immediately came to a red light and stopped and found heavy dark smoke coming from inside the front of our hood. We slowly moved to the R lane to get to a strip parking lot to move vehicle to a safe spot. When we finally found a safe parking a vehicle stopped to alert us of a noticeable fire at the bottom front of the Honda. We jumped out and 911 was called. By the time Police, followed by the Fire Dept, the front of my CR-V was engulfed by fire. I had just purchased this 2025 Touring Sport from Carmax 6 months earlier and it had just 7091 miles to it. My insurance and Honda were notified and claim and case #s were filed. Insurance offered a settlement but no word yet from Honda. Inspections were performed by both. Insurance inspectors report it as potential mechanical failure. Honda should offer reparations for the loss of my vehicle and placing our lives and those around us in danger.

STEERING: 2025 Honda CRV steering became "sticky" when veering left, making it difficult to maneuver back to center and the steering could feel a bit jumpy. There were also faint clicks when driving in circles to the left. The VIN was not listed under the current recall number 24V-744 so we brought it to the dealer to see if it was under warranty. The sticky steering only happens after driving the car for a little while, so we weren't able to replicate it for the dealer 12 miles away. However, they took a look at the steering components and told us that it was a "fluke" that the car had made it through assembly inspections because it should have failed and never been sold. We had the car safety checked before leaving for a trip where we'd be driving along steep, winding cliffs with sharp switchbacks and they said we were in good shape. Now they were telling us we were "lucky we didn't hit a pothole" and make it even worse and careen off a cliff. We put about 10k miles on that trip not knowing the danger we were in the whole time. They claim they fixed it by installing a brand new Honda Power Steering Rack, part number 53620-3A0-A33. We've heard that others just end up with the same issues in another 5-7k miles, so we're not feeling confident. AUTOMATIC SAFETY BREAKING: We get several phantom warning alarms and flashing, full screen messages telling us to "BRAKE!" while driving when nothing is there. Usually when there's any kind of flickering sunlight or sunlight through trees, which is everywhere. We can only disable it by turning it off EVERY single time we turn on the car and by going through several menus to get to the feature. We should be able to turn this off completely, not each time. We've twice had it pump the breaks and it's a frightening situation, even at slow speeds, because we could get rear ended. Dealer said, "Yeah...that's how it works. Mine does it too."

I recently purchased my 2025 Honda CRV from the dealership January. I was driving with my 2025 Honda CRV and I noticed that the lane keep assist was having the ping pong affect when I first picked it up but I didn't really think too much about it. I assume my vehicle just needed some drive time since it was brand new and it was the first time it was on the highway. I noticed that this function was also causing the wheel to be very stiff. I know this system is a driving assistant and is not meant to take away from actual driving and paying attention to the road. But this week the system made an over correction and caused my vehicle turn into a guardrail on the highway. The road was straight, the day was clear and the lines on the lanes were very visible. There shouldn't have been an issue. I was pulled into the guardrail on the driver's side. I was with my girlfriend, her [XXX] son and my friend at the time. Everyone was a bit shaken up, I never had that happen before. It was primarily cosmetic damage to the vehicle and no other vehicles or property was damaged. I wasn't aware there was a steering recall on this vehicle until after the incident, and the recall was posted during the time I was finalizing the paperwork with my dealership for purchasing this vehicle. I haven't taken it to a dealership since getting the vehicle because they prepared everything prior to delivery or picking it up from the port in my case. I have filed a claim with my insurance company and hopefully the vehicle can be inspected for steering issues, to include the lane keep assist. I didn't get any warnings from the vehicle during the incident and I did notice that the steering is overly controlled by the adaptive cruise control when I try to make a turn in my own lane. After stopping the car I shut off the engine while the gear/selector was still in D (Drive). The car began rolling forward since the driveway has a slope. My car hit the car parked before my car. The front bumper has been damaged. Later. I've checked several times this situation: If engine shuts off while selector is in D, the vehicle rolls instead of holding on a slope. This is a serious safety issue! Many driveways have slopes.
NHTSA #11697013
The brake system on my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid produces a pronounced creaking and groaning noise when releasing the brake pedal from a stop, especially on steep slopes. The issue becomes significantly louder when the vehicle is carrying more passengers/full luggage. This noise is distracting to the driver, particularly in stop-and-go traffic and on inclines and reduces confidence in safe braking performance. The condition creates a risk of delayed reaction or loss of focus while driving. The dealership was able to reproduce the noise during testing [only flat road/parking] but dismissed it as “characteristic.” However, the noise in my vehicle is noticeably louder than other CR-V Hybrids. The issue was not tested under the full conditions I described (steep slope and full load). I have driven another 2025 CR-V Hybrid (owned by a friend), and it does not exhibit any such issue. The problem has been present since shortly after purchase and continues to worsen. There are no warning lamps or diagnostic messages associated with the condition. I have all documented noise in video format - available to share on request. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

Unintended acceleration. On August 8, 2025, Honda C-RV Hybrid 2025 (sport touring) accelerated into a wall without the driver touching the gas pedal. The vehicle is deemed a constructive total loss by the insurance carrier. Since it can’t be driven, we are unable to reproduce the problem. A case is open with Honda since the date of the accident; however, there is no urgency to move the case forward.

The vehicle experienced an unintended acceleration in which it unexpectedly increased speed without any input from the driver. At no point was the gas pedal depressed, yet the vehicle accelerated on its own. This sudden and uncommanded movement occurred without warning and was inconsistent with normal vehicle operation, leaving the driver with no intentional control over the acceleration. Following this incident, the manufacturer was contacted; however, despite ongoing attempts to communicate over the past six months, there has been no meaningful correspondence or demonstrated urgency from the manufacturer to investigate or resolve the issue.

With 700 miles on our 2025 CR-V Ex-L owned for only a month, we had just exited from a 100-mile highway trip onto city streets near our home when the driver display suddenly started flashing warnings of failures for ALL driver safety systems, one after another, causing us to immediately stop in the middle lane filled with traffic and not knowing what to do or how to proceed. We pulled over at the next stoplight & quickly put the car in park, which stopped the endless warnings. When the stoplight turned green, we proceeded on the half mile trip home without further warnings. We have not moved the vehicle since the incident so have no idea if &/or when this might happen again. I have since found multiple online reports of the same type of event happening to other CRV owners, with dealer repair shops "guessing" what is causing the problem & "fixing" everything from fuel injectors & sensors to engine harnesses and battery replacements to vehicle computer updates and cylinder misfires, often with the problem recurring anyway. See: 1. [XXX] 2. [XXX] A number of CR-V owners reporting this issue say their vehicle immediately slowed to "limp mode" down to 35mph on the freeway, which was very scary and dangerous! Since we were driving at city speed we cannot know if our car also experienced Limp Mode. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am filing a formal complaint regarding the safety systems on my 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L, particularly the overly aggressive Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) and intrusive Lane Keep Assist. While driving my children to school, my CR-V violently slammed the brakes because a scooter was creeping toward an intersection — clearly not entering traffic. The rider and I made eye contact, fully aware of each other, and there was an open left lane for evasive action if needed (it wasn't). Despite my clear judgment, the CMBS intervened, causing a violent deceleration that launched objects inside the vehicle, scared everyone, and increased the risk of a rear-end collision. I am shocked that Honda eliminated the hardware button to quickly disable CMBS. Now drivers must perform a multi-step procedure every time the vehicle starts — an unreasonable and unsafe burden. I previously owned a 2014 Accord and was a loyal, satisfied customer. I love nearly everything else about the CR-V, but these flawed "safety" systems are a potential deal-breaker. Sudden deceleration can cause concussions and greatly increase the chance of secondary accidents. Lane Keep Assist has created additional dangers. When I move slightly within my lane to create space from a semi-truck, the system unnecessarily corrects my steering. This is distracting and unsafe. Good drivers adjust dynamically, but these systems undermine good judgment rather than enhancing safety. Technology that overrides competent drivers is reckless, not "intelligent." I request two changes: (1) Reinstate a hardware button to easily disable automatic emergency braking, and (2) Allow CMBS and Lane Keep Assist settings to persist across drives. Honda must redesign these systems with real-world driving in mind. Features that destroy driver trust are dangerous, not protective. I am deeply disappointed, frustrated, and have lost trust in my CR-V — a serious failure for a brand I once admired.

Honda put the CR-V lidar censor behind the logo emblem on the front grill. The logo is easy to remove, and the censors are being stolen at alarming rates. They're utterly unprotected, and cost over 2000 to fix/replace. It is a huge design flaw and it's unfair that they've saddled car owners with no ability to prevent theft, and huge replacement fees if a theft occurs. I just had the logo emblem stolen and it cost over 320 to replace. That's unacceptable and I'm really mad at whoever designed this car.

The panoramic sunroof glass on my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid spontaneously shattered while the vehicle was parked and unoccupied in an indoor garage for approximately one week. There was no external impact, airborne object, or temperature extreme involved. The vehicle is stored in a covered underground parking structure. The glass shattered inward, with fragments falling onto the driver seat, passenger seat, center console, and floor. The sunroof frame shows no signs of external force or impact point. The vehicle had approximately 5,194 miles at the time of discovery. No warning lamps or prior symptoms appeared before the failure. The component is available for inspection. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer or manufacturer representative, though I intend to bring it to a Honda dealership. This issue poses a significant safety risk, as spontaneous shattering of glass over an occupied cabin could cause injury to passengers. I am aware of a class action lawsuit (Tappana v. American Honda Motor Co., Case No. 2:21-cv-09046) alleging Honda has known about this sunroof defect since 1995.

I am reporting a potential safety recall violation by Honda Mall of Georgia (3699 Buford Dr, Buford, GA 30519). My vehicle experienced engine noise, vibration, and warning indicators, which the dealership attributed to 'fuel contamination' to deny warranty coverage (attached), and charged approximately $3,392.99 for repairs. However, I have a certified laboratory analysis (attached) from the Georgia Department of Agriculture confirming the fuel met all state quality standards and had no contamination at Costco Gas. Costco also provided supporting document (attached) that there was no contamination and there were no other customers reporting such issue. The vehicle required a second repair (attached) for the engine issue immediately after the first, further proving the failure was not 'bad fuel' related. Despite my state-certified proof, the dealer refuses to provide any documentation for their claim of 'bad fuel.' I believe the dealership has intentionally misdiagnosed a known defect covered under Federal Safety Recall 24V-763 / QK8 (cracked high-pressure fuel pump) to avoid performing a free recall repair.

The component affected is the passenger side mirror. The plastic cap over the mirror spontaneously cracked. It sounded like my CRV was hit by a rock. I looked over and my mirror was folded into the vehicle. The mirror works, it is not cracked and the movement via the driver side buttons works. Upon stopping and looking, the plastic was broken from the bottom around the interior of the cap. Exterior plastic piece was left. I used black duct tape to keep the remaining pieces together. No warning signs. Pieces of plastic flew off the mirror into the roadway where cars were parked and people would be standing. My CRV is going in for an inspection on 4/2/2026.

I’m driving a Honda CRV 2025. It recently has an electrical issue. It has happened 3 times. Two while starting up the car that I couldn’t start up the car. And one while I was backing off my car on the driveway, the car was suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. When it happened, dashboard lights were flickering randomly, and there was some electric noise on and off. I have brought the car to the dealer for a diagnostic, but they couldn’t reproduce or find any issue. They even said that they have tested and verified that the car was totally safe to drive. That raised me a safety concern if the car suddenly stop when I’m on freeway at high speed.

While pulling into a parking spot and coming to a stop, the brakes failed and the car abruptly accelerated forward despite attempts to continue braking. The car proceeded over the curb and raised hilly grassy median and only came to a stop when it collided with a parked vehicle on the other side of the median. I, as the driver, had no control of the vehicle and could have potentially hit a pedestrian in this parking lot. There was a person seated in the car that my car impacted and she could have been hurt as well as myself and my passenger. All of this was reported to the community service officer who came to the scene, as well as to the Coggin collision center, Coggin Honda dealership and my insurance company. My insurance company has sent an appraiser to the collision center but he did not investigate the causative factors, only the body damage so far. There were no warning lamps or messages and the airbags did not deploy despite frontal impact. The car is currently at the Honda Collision center and would be available for inspection.

I purchased the 2025 vehicle in September of 2025. The forward collision warning has never worked properly and will kick out disabling the cruise control. I have brought this issue up at least 3 times at the Honda Dealer I purchased it from (Verne Eide, Sioux Falls, SD). Each time I was told it this is a "known issue" and there is no fix for it. My only remedy was to disable the forward collision warning in order to be able to use the cruise control. My warranty expires in 6000 miles but they say they can't fix it. The dealer told me today that Honda is aware of the problem but has no fix for it. How is a know safety feature that does not work not considered a safety issue and a recall ordered? Honda has obviously chosen not to address this issue.

The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The contact stated that while parking in her residence parking lot, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to function as intended. An abnormal rev sound could be heard coming from the engine when the vehicle accelerated independently. The vehicle jumped the parking block and ran over the sidewalk, skidded the road, and crashed into a tree, where it came to a stop. The driver’s and passenger’s side air bags did not deploy. The contact was unsure if there was a warning light illuminated on that occasion. A police report was filed. The contact had a sore left neck and a bruise on the right hip bone due to the seat belt. No medical attention was provided. The vehicle was towed to a towing yard, waiting to be towed to a collision center, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The insurance company was notified. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,500.

Vehicle: 2025 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid Date of Purchase: April 2025 Date Problem First Noticed: April 2025 Complaint Summary: I purchased a brand new 2025 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid in April 2025. Since the day I brought the vehicle home, I have noticed a persistent clanking or metal-on-metal noise coming from the rear of the vehicle, especially noticeable when driving over minor bumps or rough pavement at low to moderate speeds. This issue was reported to the dealer, and in June 2025, they attempted a repair by replacing the rear shock absorber and a rear rod assembly. However, the noise returned within weeks, and by mid-July 2025, it has become significantly worse. Now, the clanking sound is loud and alarming, resembling something coming loose or at risk of falling off. It has reached the point where I feel unsafe driving the vehicle, especially on highways or interstates. I am concerned that a suspension or structural component may fail, potentially leading to a loss of control or an accident. The fact that this issue has persisted despite repairs and is worsening raises serious concerns about the safety and structural integrity of the rear suspension system on this model. --- Additional Notes: The noise occurs whether the vehicle is loaded or empty. It is especially pronounced when driving over uneven roads, minor bumps, or potholes. I have checked the cargo area for loose items—this is clearly a mechanical issue. The service team initially acknowledged the issue and attempted a fix, but the recurrence suggests either a design flaw or improper rear component durability. Given that other owners have reported similar noises and rear-end suspension issues on owner forums, I believe this may not be an isolated case. --- ️ Safety Concern: Due to the intensity of the noise and the sensation that rear components may detach, I no longer feel confident driving the vehicle at highway speeds. This poses a serious safety hazard to myself.

Experienced a sudden unintended acceleration while parking the vehicle. Right front tire climbed up on a parking barrier (shortened telephone pole) and damaged the right front bumper. No warning or trouble lights were on at that time, however, after restarting vehicle and heading home approximately half a mile down the road, all the warning and trouble lights came on, the steering wheel started shaking and the car wasn’t drivable. We have no idea if there is concealed damage underneath the vehicle. We called Honda roadside assistance and they came and took the vehicle to the closest Honda dealership. At this time, we’re waiting to hear from them.

I am reporting a safety issue with my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The driver-side front mirror becomes blurry at highway speeds (60–70+ mph) and sometimes even above 40 mph on uneven roads, making it difficult to see vehicles behind me and creating a significant safety hazard, particularly when changing lanes or merging onto highways. The visibility issue worsens in rain, wind, or other adverse weather conditions, further compromising safe driving. Despite four service visits at my dealership, including a complete mirror replacement on August 25, 2025, the issue persists. Follow-up visits on October 20, 2025, and November 2025 confirmed that the problem was not resolved. My dealership has acknowledged that this may be a manufacturer defect and recommended that I contact Honda directly. This recurring issue directly affects safe vehicle operation and remains unresolved despite multiple documented repair attempts. I am submitting this complaint to formally document the safety concern and request appropriate manufacturer action.

Subject: Safety Concern – Hood Instability on 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid Dear NHTSA, I am writing to formally report a potential safety defect with my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The hood does not close securely and exhibits visible gaps, uneven alignment, and noticeable movement or rattling at highway speeds. This raises serious concerns about the structural integrity of the hood and the possibility of it disengaging while driving. I brought this issue to Lia Honda, where I was told the movement is “by design” and not a defect. However, the instability is significant enough to cause distraction and fear of hood failure at high speeds. I believe this warrants further investigation, especially as I’ve learned that other CR-V Hybrid owners have reported similar experiences. I respectfully request that this issue be documented and reviewed as a potential safety defect. I am happy to provide photos, videos, or additional documentation upon request.

Last week noticed my car to start shaking from the front area when I went from a full stop and began accelerating. When I also turn on my vehicle and it was idling it would shake too. I took it to the dealer and they said they couldn’t find the issue until I got in the car with them and showed them the noise. They said today that it needs new fuel injectors. I bought my car at 0 miles and it had 7,800 miles when I noticed the issue.

I parking my car in a parking spot at my work infront of a tree post the car jumped and hit the tree post by it self as crazy it sound I’ve never seen this before I was devastated. Scared I had called the insurance to tow the car to the Honda dealer and it’s been sitting there for a month now to get the manufacturing Honda come look at it and no one had contacted me yet.

I was parking in our apartment's parking lot when I attempted a left turn to pull in front-facing toward the wall. Within seconds, and without understanding how or why, the car continued forward and hit the wall. Initially, I reported to the insurance company that I either didn’t brake or found the brake too late. However, the truth is—I do not clearly remember what happened. My mph had to be low. When the car hit the wall, several emergency systems were triggered: an automatic emergency call was made, collision alerts sounded, and the brakes activated. During the collision, my left arm was burned by the steering wheel where the Honda logo is located. The burn left a visible imprint of the Honda logo on my skin. Only some of the airbags deployed: the steering wheel and right-side window airbags were activated. However, the driver's side window airbags did not deploy. My concerns and complaints include: 1. The failure of the driver’s window airbag to deploy 2. The burn on my arm caused by the steering wheel’s Honda emblem 3. The inconsistent performance of the emergency braking system, which only works sometimes

The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the hood was fluttering. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while exceeding 50 MPH and was more significant whenever a semi-truck drove by the vehicle on a two-lane road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the bracing underneath the hood was reglued, the hood latch was adjusted, and the elevation of the rubber bumpers underneath the hood was modified; however, the failure worsened. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 800.

Rear Traffic Alert and e-braking not working or working intermittently. Vehicle is supposed to alert you to cross traffic and does not...Maybe works 1 out of 6 occurences. When you place the vehicle in reverse and proceed backwards, the rear of the vehicle appears on the screen but, does not alert you when a vehicle is approaching on the street that you are backing onto. Does not matter if it the vehicle comes from the left or right. Same can be said for pedestrians or bicycles - which it is supposed to detect. This has resulted in emergency stops nearly striking vehicle or bicyclist. This safety feature is pretty much useless and as such have turned it off. I researched this issue on reddit and various forums. It appears to be common in 2023-2025 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport L. We owned a 2019 Honda CRV with the same cross-traffic alert and it worked very reliably. Not the case for our brand new 2025 CRV Hybrid

Complete electrical failure of all components of the vehicle when the power switch was turned off after parking. Emergency flashers, brake lights, headlight and horn also would not work. I discovered the positive electric cable bracket, on the battery, was broken and held together only by the red plastic cover. The bracket is very thin compared to other vehicle battery cable connections on other cars. It appears that the bracket (with red cover on it) was bumped during vehicle assembly cracking the bracket. The red cover hid the damaged bracket until it broke completely today. If the vehicle does start, it will run normally. When the positive cable loses connection, the vehicle continues to operate normally until it is shut off. Then all systems shut down immediately. Recommend Honda redesign the cable bracket to make it less prone to breakage.
