Complaints Filed with NHTSA

The following are consumer-reported complaints filed with NHTSA. These are unverified allegations and are not proof that any defect exists.

Power Train33 complaints

2020 Ford F250 with 85,000 miles. We purchased new and all maintenance has been done on time and by Ford Service. Transmission began jerking when going from park to drive (or reverse). Noticeable lunging of the vehicle when putting into gear. This began in December 2025. This is a safety concern if anyone is in front of or behind the vehicle when this happens. The truck jumps. Now the transmission is not shifting gears smoothly when the truck is in motion. This is a known problem with trucks manufactured during this time period with 10R80 transmissions. Ford has been less than helpful in helping me come to a resolution. They tell me there was a TSB sent out. They attempted to reprogram software (at a cost of $424 to me). I will upload the invoice from Ford. This only made the problem worse. They quoted me a "special price" of $8,500 to replace the transmission, however their service department is SIX WEEKS out. For this reason we have chosen to have the transmission replaced at a local transmission shop. Their price is $9,932.41. I have attached that invoice. Ford needs to take accountability for this safety problem and attempt to make these vehicles safe. They should absorb at least some of the cost to fix this design problem. We paid full price to purchase a new, safe vehicle. That is not what we received. Rather than a "Technical Service Bulletin", Ford should be forced to do a recall and make this right for customers who paid top dollar for these vehicles.

NHTSA #11714005

NHTSA #11676601

When shifting into drive the truck will lurch forward, a very hard shift. It also does the same thing in reverse. Several times the if my foot was not pressing very hard on the brake when shifting into drive or reverse the truck would lurch forward several feet. It there was an obstruction or person in front of the truck it would have put them at risk of being hit. While driving on cruise control it is very slow to shift and will skip multiple gears when shifting down when going up a hill. Sometimes also going downhill. This can cause the truck to slow down rapidly without a brake indicator which could cause a rear end collision if there is someone following closely. The truck is only 4.5yrs old and has 60,597miles. Symptoms started about 3-4months earlier when truck was well under 60,000 miles however I was unable to get it to the dealer until 60,597 which puts the truck out of warranty. The dealer was able to reproduce the issues and performed a code reset as well as a reprogram and the issue was not resolved. Dealer tore down the transmission and said one of the clutch packs in the transmission has failed along with several other parts. It is now requiring a full rebuild or replacement. There were no warning lights, alarms or messages. Date below is approximately when symptoms started occurring. I do not yet have my vehicle back so do not have the full report from the dealer. I will submit when I receive my vehicle back.

NHTSA #11663421

The transmission would hang up in 7th gear when stopping at red light, caution light or stop signs without warning. It would roll like normal when letting of brakes however when out in the middle of traffic stop signs or caution lights the truck would not move and would not shift as it was hung in 7th gear. The only way to get the truck back in 1st gear was to place the truck in park and turn the ignition off then restart the vehicle. This has happened 3 different times post bringing the truck to silsbee ford for a ecm and tcm reprogram. Originally called dealer back to reports extreme rough shifting and was told they did not mess with anything in the transmission and it was not due to anything they did, never received a call back from manager. No warning lights messages ever appeared to show the transmission had failed to down shift into first gear at the stop lights. All three of these events happened while my 7 year old child was in the truck and two of the times it was a near miss and narrowly avoided accidents. Prior to this since around 50,000 miles truck would shift rough with rough engagement into 3,4th,5th,6th, gears with frequent flare shifts and was told by dealers this was normal characteristic of the transmission.

NHTSA #11698586

Truck lunges forward when at stop light, in drive and foot on the brake. Almost rear ended another driver. Did this several times. Also, when merging on highway and try to pick up speed the truck bogs down and hesitates almost got into two accidents because of this. Also loud clunking and banging on start up and when idling.

NHTSA #11633469

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and shifting into gear, the vehicle jerked significantly. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission was slipping and was skipping gear. Additionally, the transmission remained stuck in a gear. The power train warning light was illuminated, and a message advising to see the Owner's Manual was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where diagnostic trouble codes indicating that the transmission clutches were slipping, were retrieved. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V365000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

NHTSA #11639814

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the transmission independently downshifted from tenth gear to first gear. The contact stated that while the gear shifter was in drive and the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle lunged forward. The contact stated that while reversing, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle jerked backward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed transmission CDF drum. The contact was informed that the transmission CDF drum needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,500.

NHTSA #11639375

THis vehicle was purchased new from Ray Varner Ford, CLinton TN. Ford issued a Safety REcall notice for insulating material contacting the driveshaft. I took this vehicle to Varner who said they inspected it but found no defect. Last year, the vehicle was seen by the Ford Dealer in St Augustine FL, who told me the Safety Recall had not been addressed. When I explained that Varner had (at least claimed to have)_ inspected it, the Rep said "if so , they didnt enter it into the computer system." I have contacted Ford who essentially ignored the matter.

NHTSA #11617926

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated while accelerating, the vehicle was shaking and vibrating abnormally. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the rear axle housing was deformed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V536000 (Power Train). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 69,000.

NHTSA #11604301

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motor power at approximately the 7th gear. The Ford wrench warning light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to Ford's customer satisfaction program 21B03. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

NHTSA #11602883

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated that when driving, at various speeds, the transmission would do a hard shift, giving a jerking sensation. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the dealer and to the NHTSA Hotline to file a safety complaint. The failure mileage was 70,000.

NHTSA #11632396

Gears would delay upshift. Stopping would accelerate as approaching stop light.

NHTSA #11598639

While driving at various speeds the transmission/powertrain has jerking shifting, loss of power, inability to increase speed, hesitates in speed, hard shifting, clunking noises. It hesitates from 4th to 5th gear, hesitates from 9th to 10th gear, and will drop from 10th gear straight down as low as 4th gear with the RPMs of the engine going dangerously high.

NHTSA #11604095

The collar on the transmission degrades around 105-130k miles on the new 10r140. Upon driving on the highway i completely lost power upon gear transitions and paused acceleration. After weeks of constant power loss i ended up completely losing 10th gear while hauling a trailer. While shifting from park to drive the entire truck would have a major jolt and jump forward. No warning lights came on during any of the events, even after an entire gear was lost. The mechanic had this happen to him while driving it and had to completely replace the entire transmission at 117k miles. This was an extremely dangerous event while at highway speeds losing power. This is also somewhat of a well know problem (certainly with the 1/2 ton version of this same transmission). This should be recalled.

NHTSA #11637149

The transmission went out at 115000 miles. There is metal all in the pan and damaged the valve body. After valve body replaced the transmission still would not go into gear correctly and its an internal failure known to occur in the 10-speed 2020 10r140. This needs to be a recall.

NHTSA #11575263

Vehicle hesitates while trying to pull out onto a busy highway, therefore, causing major concern in getting hit by another vehicle while pulling out.

NHTSA #11646525

Transmission failed after 106k miles, incurring $7k of repair costs. The failure caused the vehicle to seriously hesitate and could have resulted in an unexpected slow down while driving. There was no warning ahead of time outside slight hesitation on accelerating which my auto repair shop determined was spark plug related. Then suddenly when driving my son home from a friends house the check engine light came on and hesitation was significant on 12/23/23. There are several bulletins regarding the 10 speed transmission in Ford Trucks and Expeditions, I've owned several Ford Trucks in the past and never had a transmission fail after 100k miles, conveniently after the warranty. These trucks should go 150-200k before having major mechanical issues. Ford will not recognize the issue and do the right thing ie: a full recall.

NHTSA #11562544

The truck slips out of gear for no reason, suffers very hard shifts causing the truck to jerk, and skips gears making it impossible to drive safely. Also, I lost power on the freeway several times and the truck would up shift and down shift erratically causing issues maintaining speed in traffic. I took the truck to the Ford dealer and was told I needed a new transmission. Ford has issued a recall for the Diesel truck with this transmission but refuses to repair other trucks with the same faulty transmission. This truck costs almost $60,000 new, was built in January 2020 with a faulty and dangerous transmission but ford is refusing to help their customers.

NHTSA #11564832

You are driving and when the transmission goes to change gears it has like a dead spot in it an hesitates sometimes a couple seconds sometimes a little longer but it could cause you yo get rear ended then it will kick in real rough and go . There are recalls on the ford trucks transmission but not for my year of truck but its the same transmission the 10 speed and its doing the exact say thing as the complaints in the recall. I took it up around two months after i bought it and they told me this is how these trucks shift that is not correct at all . My warranty has just ran out and ford does not want to stand behind it. They should be made to cover any truck with this transmission in it just not certain trucks .

My cp4 fuel pump failed on my 2020 ford f250 and died while towing my 7000lb trailer for my business and had to get towed to shop to find out the entire fuel system needs replaced and ford dealer has it and says because recall 24s78 for my vehicle is on pause that there is nothing they can do about it and I’m stuck without my truck which I need for my business and believe ford is responsible to replace the fuel system with no charge to me when the cp4 pump is such a common failure in my trucks!

02/04/2026 69k miles. I brought my vehicle in because I got a check engine light on the dash and had loss of power. Was informed that my fuel pump had failed and sent metal shards through the whole fuel system. The damage was covered by the recall, which also included reprogramming of the tcm and pcm. Was then told that the reflash of those systems was a failure, and that the Ford Motor Company was working on a remedy. My dealership has since completed a full fuel system replacement, and there still isn't a fix for the programming issue. This is a revenue generating vehicle, and the only one, for my small business. I lost many clients due to inability to perform the work I was contracted to do. My dealership did offer me a loaner vehicle, but it's not one that can perform the work that my truck was able to do, and was told not to use the vehicle for any commercial work or towing, as thats not allowed. Ive reached out to customer relations to get updates, and have had no help from them, save for telling me they're working on it, and will hope to have a remedy soon.

We have had this truck a total of two months. The dealer told us that there were not recalls on it, come to find out there are two. The recalled part froze up and shattered that shot metal shavings all through the fuel system. This caused the truck to lose all power and shut down on a busy road which could have led to a major accident had it not been after rush hour. After towing the truck to a repair shop, we found out about the recalls. Come to find out, the warranty company nor Ford will pay to fix the vehicle due to nothing available. How are we the consumer liable for this when it is under recall and Ford has been working on a fix for a year? We have been told a fix would be around $10,000.

NHTSA Complaint Text (Copy/Paste) Vehicle: 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6.7L Power Stroke Recall: 24S78 – Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Software Update Complaint: Ford has issued Recall 24S78 for the high-pressure fuel pump defect on my 2020 F-250, but the company has not provided an actual remedy. The recall shows as open on my VIN, and Ford’s documentation says a PCM software update is the fix, but Ford released the software and then pulled it back within a week. My dealership confirmed Ford removed the remedy from their system, so they cannot perform the recall at all. This leaves my truck exposed to a known safety defect with no available repair. The high-pressure fuel pump failure this recall addresses can cause sudden loss of power, engine stall, or complete shutdown while driving. Until a working remedy is released, I’m driving a truck that Ford has admitted has a serious safety defect, but they have not provided any fix or timeline. I am requesting NHTSA investigate why the remedy was withdrawn, why no replacement remedy has been provided, and why Ford is leaving owners with a known safety risk for an extended period. This is an expensive vehicle, and the defect can cause catastrophic engine damage and create a hazardous situation on the road. Owners deserve an effective recall remedy that is actually available. Not exactly sure when the recall was first brought to light but I do know it has been months now.

On July 31st, I was driving my 2020 F-250 in town, traveling approximately six miles from one location to another. Upon arriving at my destination, I noticed smoke coming from under the engine bay. When I opened the hood, I discovered diesel fuel had leaked throughout the engine compartment. I immediately contacted my local dealership and brought the truck in for inspection. I was informed that the fuel filter was cracked. After doing some research, I learned that this appears to be a common issue with similar models, and in some reported cases, it has even led to vehicle fires. Fortunately, this did not occur while I was driving a longer distance, which could have put me and my family at serious risk. I’m raising this concern in hopes of further investigation and a resolution, given the potential safety implications.

On or around July 14, 2025, my truck failed to start. The engine would turn over but would not fire. My vehicle was at home and had been driven within the past day before this incident. On July 14, 2025, I had my vehicle towed to Burns Ford of York for a diagnosis. Upon inspection, the Ford technician determined that the high-pressure fuel pump was damaged, causing metal to contaminate the fuel system. At the time of this failure, my odometer had 67,452 miles. A "fuel system replacement" kit and element were ordered - Ford parts #s PC3Z-9N184C & LC3Z-9B246B. As explained to me, the entire fuel system and components had to be replaced because the high-pressure fuel pump "exploded." Knowing there is an active recall on the fuel system (Campaign 24S78/24V957) a request was made to Ford to cover the repair costs since the active recall dealt with a known issue of aged biodiesel causing issues, including a failure to start, which I experienced. Ford failed to approve the repair costs, causing a total expense around $17,000, with approximately $7,000 being out of pocket after my extended warranty company paid the remaining balance. The issue is that there was no intentional direct cause for the fuel pump to fail and given it did so with an active recall on the fuel system and with only 67,000 miles I believe the active recall is associated with my failure and should be on Ford to cover repairs and acknowledge a permanent fix.

Ford just announced recall 25V455 for bad fuel pump for certain Ford trucks from 2021-2023 models. I purchased brand new 2020 Ford F250 SD with the 7.3 gas motor and from day one its had fuel pump issues. The vehicle hard starts like its starved for fuel. After several trips to the dealer they said it was a battery so I changed the battery. Didn't fix it. Then they said it was some other part and they replaced it, didn't fix it. I tried getting Ford to replace the fuel pump and the wouldn't. I've read forums online that discuss the same issue with many current ford models. I'm glad to see Ford do the recall but they need to extend the recall to include 2020 models. My truck has exhibited the same issues in this current recall and it gets worse during the hot South Carolina summer months. This is going to create a long term problem and Ford needs to include 2020s in their recall. I purchased the truck from Billy Howell Ford in Cumming, GA then moved to Columbia, SC where Jim Hudson Ford has been serving my truck.

I am filing a complaint regarding a safety defect on my 2020 Ford F-250 (VIN: [XXX] ), which is included in NHTSA Recall 24V-957 (Ford Recall 24S78). I received Ford’s recall notice prior to the failure of the high-pressure fuel pump. When I contacted Ford at that time, I was informed that the recall remedy was not yet available. In March 2025, the high-pressure fuel pump failed suddenly while I was transporting livestock in a towed trailer with my three children in the truck. The vehicle experienced an abrupt loss of power in traffic and became unable to move. We had to remain stopped until a tow truck arrived, creating a significant safety hazard for my family and other drivers. The Ford dealer documented the failure as “high pressure pump froze up and cracked high pressure pump,” which caused metal contamination throughout the fuel system and required complete replacement of the pump, injectors, rails, lines, and a fuel tank flush. The total repair cost was $16,574.44, which I paid out of pocket. Ford has stated they cannot process reimbursement until the recall remedy becomes available, despite federal regulations allowing reimbursement for repairs completed after notification of a safety defect. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in ensuring Ford complies with the recall reimbursement requirements and continues to monitor this defect due to the sudden and dangerous nature of these failures. Thank you for your attention. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My truck started having the extended start a couple of years ago. It seems when it's warmer outside, sometimes, it will crank for an excessive amount of time before it will start. It was very intermittent and hard to determine exactly when this would occur. Someone told me it was the fuel pump and that the fuel pumps in certain Ford Super Duty models were just faulty. A couple of weeks ago, I was pulling onto the highway from a stop. My check engine light came on and the truck almost stalled. There was a vehicle that had to brake suddenly to avoid this. Now I notice that when I give the truck gas when it's in a higher gear, it hesitates and starts jerking back and forth. I can't drive it now. I know it's the fuel pump. I also have a neighbor that has a 2019 F-250 truck and his truck is doing the exact same thing right now. He said he's had the extended crank for a few years occur to him as well. He contacted the dealership and they told him it's a known issue with the fuel pumps in the Super Duty trucks. There are many videos online of folks reporting the exact same thing as my truck and my neighbors truck. However, we have gas engines and not the diesel engines. I feel the recent recall should be extended to all Super Duty trucks and don't just think it's an issue with the diesel trucks. I'm just wondering if anyone has looked into all the fuel pumps Ford is putting into their Super Duty trucks. It's crazy how so many people are having problems with them whether they have the gas engine or the diesel engines. Thanks!

Bosch high pressure fuel pump failure at 76K miles. Resulted in being stranded out of state. Dealer could not repair the fuel pump after having the vehicle for over 1 month. I am writing to formally report a serious issue with my Ford F-250’s fuel system. The system failed, which appears to have been caused by contaminated or aged fuel. As a result, I was forced to replace the entire fuel system at a personal cost of $15,000. Despite taking the vehicle to an authorized Ford dealership, the recall related to this issue has not yet been addressed. I am extremely concerned by the lack of resolution and the financial burden this has placed on me as a consumer. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed promptly and that appropriate action be taken to ensure the recall is completed and I am compensated for the related repair costs.

Component: Air Conditioning / Heater Subject: Recurrent HVAC System Failure - Passenger-Side Temperature Control Malfunction I am reporting a recurring failutre of the vehicle's HVAC system affecting the passenger-side temperature control. Specifically the passenger-side air vents intermittently and repeatedly blowing hot air while the driver-side continue to operate normally with cooled air. This condition results in inconsistent cabin temperature control andrenders the air conditioning system ineffective for occupants on the passenger side. Timeline of Failures and Repairs: July 2023: Initial occurrence of passenger side hot air condition. Vehicle was taken to authorized Ford dealership (McRee Ford). Repairs were performed; however the specific root cause either identified or not permanently corrected as another recurrence happened August 2025: Took it back to McRee Ford due to an identical issue reoccurred where the passenger side was blowing hot air. They attempted to repair with the same technician and was again only a temporary resolution as the issue again occurred March 2026: Passenger side blowing hot air for the third time. Took it to a different authorized Ford dealership (Cook Ford) where again, it was identified as a blend door actuator issue. Safety Concern: While the issue may appear to be a comfort concern, it presents a potential safety risk in high temperature environments such as Texas. (Heat related stress or illness for passengers) Multiple authorized dealership seem to be unable to resolve the issue. Currently vehicle is with Cook Ford and was advised that additional funding would be needed for a permanent fix. I've already been financially burdened with taking the vehicle twice to McRee Ford and now a third time to Cook Ford for the same issue, and being told upfront that the failure may again happen. I request an investigation into this matter and HVAC issue. Thank you.

That said, the core issue and my position remain the same, and I want to lay out where things stand clearly. The situation: - My vehicle is covered under CSP 20B39 (Front View and CHMSL Camera — PCB conductivity issue causing intermittent camera operation) - The program is in effect through November 30, 2030 or 150,000 miles, and the repair is to be performed at no charge to the vehicle owner - My servicing dealer, Santa Margarita Ford, attempted to complete the CSP work but could not because the vehicle's Gateway Module is not communicating properly - The dealer has advised that the Gateway Module must be replaced before the camera work under XXX can be completed My position: Ford issued CSP XXX and committed to completing this repair at no charge. If the Gateway Module must be functional in order for Ford's own program to be executed, then resolving the Gateway Module issue is Ford's prerequisite to meet — not an out-of-pocket cost to push to the customer. I'm not asking for anything beyond INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Leaving him with Grandbaby and when we stopped I went to get her out of her car seat but the passenger side rear would not unlock. What would happen if the car was on fire and the door lock would not work properly. The driver said will rarely work properly with the physical key itself and now the auto locks don't work. Cannot believe this is not required to be repaired as it really jeopardizes the safety of infants in car seats. Such a easy fix for this type of possible safety issue. I have 3 Ford trucks and 1 Ford Explorer but very concerned the newest is a accident waiting to happen with one of my Grandkids and these inoperative locks.

Rec'd recall notice but with no available resolution offered to us. The letter says the risk is "A loss of motive power increase the risk of crash". We drive this truck on the regular. Also, we have a 2,000 mile trip planned with children in the truck. How do you expect us to drive this truck and take this planned trip when Ford's own words say we are at risk of a crash? Will you put pressure on Ford to pay for us a rental vehicle until this is resolved?

In Re REPEAT complaints, 22S09 NHTSA Recall Number22v087 Stephanie at Ford Recalls arranged for Lenoir City Ford to do a quick inspection of the UNDERBODY INSULATION. We agreed no other work was to be done. L.C. REFUSED to inspect the underbody insulation in re this NHTSA Recall. The Service Writer was caught LYING TO ME 4 TIMES, demanding they could not do the Inspection without an appointment (Ford Rep said she had arranged otherwise) then stated they had to inspect wiring (irrelevant) and driveshaft (irrelevant, no loose insulation so there cannot be driveshaft damage). I put a Google Review on line (K8BYP) with all these details. This is the THIRD Ford Dealer that has refused or failed to inspect for this safety hazard.

On October 29, 2025, while traveling around a sweeping freeway transition ramp at 65 MPH in my 2020 Ford F-250 (46k miles on it), I hit a bump in the road. Suddenly the truck began violent, uncontrollable shaking of the front end of the truck and the steering wheel, feeling like the truck was about to fall apart. This terrifying, chaotic event caused me to struggle to steer and maintain control of the vehicle, sending me into the center divide. My son in law and 2 year old grandson were in the vehicle with me, visibly shaken by the event. Thankfully I was not pulling my travel trailer at the time, this could have ended in a critical situation. No warning lamps illuminated. Ford is aware of this issue and previously ordered a "customer satisfaction" repair, but that only covers 2017-2019 trucks. The truck is scheduled to be taken to the Ford dealership today 10/31/2025, however we are unclear whether there will be a cost for the repair.

I have been experiencing what is known as the “death wobble”. While driving at normal highway speeds, bumps or rough patches in the road will cause my vehicle to violently shudder. It is extremely difficult to maintain control and the vehicle has to coast to reduce speed to 20 mph before the shudder will stop. This is a known issue in previous year model F-series trucks. I have taken my vehicle to a dealership and had the issue confirmed as the steering stabilizer, however, Ford refuses to remedy the issue stating my year model is not affected. Ford claims the affected years models end at 2019. My vehicle is a 2020, however, my manufacturer date is 10/19. I believe my vehicle is actually what is considered a “half year”, meaning it received certain 2019 parts and certain 2020 parts. This issue is extremely dangerous for me as well as other motorists.

Same as my previous Complaint dated yesterday, 10/3/2024, Ray Varner Ford, a Ford Dealer, tried to sell me the wrong Power Steering Fluid for this truck. I gave the Vehicle year, make, model and VIN # and they still tried to sell me passenger car steering fluid. Varner Ford LLC 2026 N Charles G Seviers Blvd, Clinton TN 37716 on Invoice [XXX], on which I purchased brake fluid but rejected the wrong PS fluid. This 250 3/4 ton truck uses Ford Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), not power steering fluid, and adding the wrong fluid will result in system damage, failure and possibly accident if steering control is lost. A mechanic at a local Tire and Lube business told me that adding this incorrect fluid will result in damage to the seals in the PS system, so apparently this is a known problem. On October 3, 2025 our 2020 Ford F250 King Ranch 6.7 diesel broke down with no start and check engine light. We contacted Ford. We towed the vehicle, at our expense to the dealership we purchased it from approximately one year ago on October 6, 2025. I contacted Ford on October 3, 2025 and received a claim number. On October 7, 2025 the Ford dealership contacted us to inform us the high pressure fuel pump catastrophically failed. It cracked the pump housing. It is a 12,000.00 repair. It is a safety recall. The pickup on has approximately 56,000 miles. The 5 year power train warranty ended September 15, 2025. I have contacted Ford twice sense January 0f 2025 to see if there was a resolution to this recall and they stated there is no fix as of this time. The dealership and I have contacted Ford Customer Service several times. I have left several messages for the representative handling our case and was promised call backs but never did. On October 10, 2025 there was a new case generated due to the lack of communication. Both the dealership and I were promised a call back and we did not receive one. We use this pickup for work and we are losing income. I asked for a loaner and I was told that was not possible. I pulled a Carfax on this pickup and found that possibility this vehicle was bought back twice. When we purchased it, the service record give to us did not show that information. We would like for the repairs to be completed in a timely manner. The dealership stated on October 8, 2025 that the entire fuel system would need to be replaced and could have it completed in three business days. I am not feeling comfortable knowing the pickup has been bought back from Ford two other times and not informing us. Also I am worried it may have caused engine damage.

My 2020 Ford F-250 King Ranch with a 6.7L V8 Turbo Diesel engine experienced severe engine failure while I was driving. The engine was completely destroyed and had to be replaced. My warranty company paid to install a new engine into the truck, but did not pay to have the remaining components fixed that were directly damaged by the engine failure. There was severe damage done to the fuel pump, DEF system, and wiring harnesses that caused the truck to be permanently into a mode called "LIMP Mode" which electronically governs the truck to 50 MPH. There was and still is an unresolved recall on the truck. The recall is as follows: #24S78 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATE BIODIESEL DEPOSIT ACCUMULATION. The NHTSA number is: NHTSA: #24V957. There were absolutely zero (0) warning signs that alerted me that this was an issue before the engine failed. No alerts or warning lamps were illuminated on the truck before it failed. All i got was a letter in the mail stating that the engine could fail due to this components and that there is no known solution to fixing the problem. This issue caused my engine to fail while I was driving to work. There are issues with the truck still that were directly caused by this issue that the warranty will not cover INCLUDING this recalled component that has no available solution. I have a 2 month old son and a wife that rely on me having this truck. I have risked the safety of my family, and others on the roads, unknowingly by operating this truck on the roads. I am asking that Ford Motor Company be held Liable for all damages to my truck, and the repurchase of the truck for full price. This is unacceptable from a company as big as Ford Motor Company.

The Parts Manager tried to blame me for the mistake stating I hadnt supplied the vehicles VIN number so they could look up the correct fluid. That was a deliberate LIE as: 1.) The Owner can find the correct fluid without knowing VIN as in 1.) above 2.) The Dealers Parts Employee neither asked for the VIN nor went out to get it as the vehicle was on their parking lot at the time of sale, 3.) An attempt at Blaming the Victim (me) which is a deliberate deceptive tactic Replacing the steering fluid in this heavy truck with the wrong, passenger car fluid, will result in fluid failure because normal PS fluid does not have the high pressure additive chemicals that are in the correct ATF. The wrong fluid will not lubricate the steering pump or rack in operation, especially at heavy loads, and cause excessive metal-to-metal wear and probably longer term steering failure which can result in accident or death. This further could be a deliberate fraud, as the un-knowing vehicle Owner would see system failure at some time in the future without being able to link the steering failure to installing the wrong fluid. Exterior Lighting2 complaints

Headlights are delaminating. They were replaced under warranty 2 years ago and now the replacements are delaminating. Ford has denied the claim for replacement

NHTSA #11629905

The headlights have failed multiple times causing bulbs to stop working or “blow”. Changed headlight bulbs approximately 4 times in the 18 months. Safety became an issue due to decreased lighting while driving. Also becomes a safety risk due to not being able to have the vehicle properly inspected by the state of WV. The problem has been discussed with the local ford dealer multiple times with no further progress other than discussions. No warning lamps or other problems prior.

Service Brakes1 complaint

This vehicle was delivered yesterday to my son through Autonation Sanford [XXX] . The CARFAX report stated a pre delivery inspection was done prior. On the way home he experienced loud screeching from the front wheels. Turns out $1650 later he needed new brakes and rotors. That is negligence, and fraud, especially with a commercial vehicle intended on towing a fishing boat. This was underhanded and a disgusting pattern of behavior. In addition, the open fixable recall was NOT completed as we just found out from searching the VIN on your website. The managers name is [XXX] , I have reached out to him to rectify this situation, and no call back. Truly grotesque, taking advantage of a [XXX] kid. Rear camera displays a black distorted image for roughly 5 seconds, then a completely black screen meanwhile instructing to contact dealer. Dealer says that even though Ford announced a 15 year extended warranty, it is not attached to any VINs. Therefore they will not honor their statement from the Chief Operating Officer on October 22, 2025 on the Ford website. Dealer at Metro Ford advised me there was no way possible to escalate case, or send an email for guidance on the issue. Refused.

While driving cross country, my dash warning light came on and said " In 50 miles your vehicle will lose power and you won't be able to drive more than 5 mph. DEF problem". I spent $70,000 on this vehicle used with 50K miles on it. Recall from 2024, this is unacceptable. Now another recall for steering. The steering column disengagement. I am afraid to drive it. The dealer keeps telling me no fix yet. FORD has no email to complain. I am not sure what can be done. This is my first FORD, never again.

Air Bags,Seat Belts,Seats1 complaint

Left rear seat belt buckle or system failed causing a fault in the Airbag/Restraint system. The fault initially happened in June of 2025 with about 50k miles on the vehicle. I took it to a dealer who told me the buckle was not available and the whole system needed to be replaced for over $1500. Vehicle seldom has anyone in the back seat but that is where my children sit. Looking at posts on the internet, this seems to be a common enough problem that this should be taken care of under recall or customer service warranty.

[XXX] watch?v=4QLrqlCd3c0 * This video is about the South Texas taillight theft rings that local Ford Dealers are aware of and not notifying the customers to protect their property. The Tail lights only take 30 to 45 seconds to steal and cost between $3,500.00 to $4,200.00 to buy plus install and coding. They are in shortage according to local Ford dealer because of the thefts. So, you have to go out to Facebook Market Place and buy your lights back from a host of characters reselling these lights. The consumers are out a lot of money and time dealing with , body shop, insurance company, and a host of characters. It's the next Ford part theft ring that cost folks money they cannot spare ....This is BS Ford Motor and Dealers!!!!!. The thieves easily bypass the alarm because of Ford's design that allows tailgate to be open from inside after easily removing inspection cover (4 screws) and remove the lights in 30 seconds (two screws per tail light). The theft of the Tail Lights makes the truck undriveable. The Ford Light Theft is so bad that there are a shortage of lights and Body Shop long lead-times if you try and order and install through Ford Body Shop. Could be all corrected if factory alarm would go off when tail gate drops after being set and using $10.00 worth of anti theft screws. Ford is not notifying F150/f250 customers when they know this is happening. Cost to consumer $4,500 to $5,000.00 and months of waiting for your truck. The thieves are advertising the lights on Facebook Market Place and E-Bay Motors. * This is a circus that Ford can stop by fixing a alarm system and using anti thief fasteners. Other1 complaint

Was driving on the highway when my truck(2020 f250) dash lit up, steering got extremely heavy, no abs, no drive modes, lost of collision emergency braking, lost all trailering functions, lost auto 4 wheel drive, hill assist, hill decline assist while hauling 10,00lbs. Ran diagnostics and it appear to be a wheels speed sensor. However, it went away and is now an intermittent issue. I understand parts fail on a truck but I am extremely concerned that I lost all of my safety features as well as all my towing features while towing on a highway, yet the truck still drives. I couldn't imagine towing max capacity (22,500lbs) and losing all those functions, it would almost guarantee a crash. How can a vehicle this new be rendered useless with a small sensor malfunction and continue to drive.
