Notified of the Recall 23V-896 remedy/parts availability in May of 2025. Appointment scheduled to inspect and submit photos to ford for parts order on 6/3/2025. Called to follow up 9/2025, 1/2026, 5/2026. As of 6/16/2026 the repair order is still open for the parts and there has been no estimated time of delivery. The rear axle bolt on the passenger side has since broken during the wait for the remedy. Ford is taking an unreasonable amount of time to repair.

I've spent hours trying to get Ford to fix the 23S65 hub recall. I get nowhere. Finally got a case number - # XXX-XXX. Recall started 2023 if I'm not mistaking. I've called dealer many times and they say Ford. Ford can find parts for new vehicles but not for my truck. I bought the truck to tow but I'm scared to use it. It seems Ford will never "have" parts. It feels like they want me to crash it or get stranded before fixing it. They have the parts. Just for new trucks or people whose trucks are completely broken. I want to tow but I can't. Dealer is now saying...parts sometime in Q3. That just keeps getting extented. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving my 2022 F150 during the 5/5/2026 Northern Colorado blizzard home to Nebraska with Slippery mode selected on Drive Train Selector and the truck started violently rattling and seized, causing catastrophic drivetrain failure with loss of power and perceptible steering control. I immediately pulled off I80 near my fueling stop destination and turned off the truck. I opened the hood to vent smoke and assess for fire. Once fire was not an issue, I started the ignition sequence to view any warning lights before starting motor. There were no warning lights or sensors indicating loss of fluids or abnormal temperatures noted in oil or transmission. The motor started and then I tried shifting through the transmission. It would engage but not move forward in any of the Drive Train Selector settings. I could travel in reverse and place in neutral, but I could not manually move forward or back when I pushed. I called Ford Roadside Assistance for towing and was flat-bedded to Sterling Korf Ford where catastrophic front end differential and assembly was noted. I had an experience leaving my work parking lot 2/27/2026, and have a malfunction warning on my vehicle phone app. That event was corrected by stopping and rotating through the Drive Train Selector switch out of 4x4 to 2H. I had 100K mile full service at Greeley, CO, Ford in July 2025 with all fluids flushed and filled and multipoint inspection. I feel this is a mechanical design flaw in the Integrated Wheel End (IWE). And with no dashboard warning to hint at impending catastrophic failure, this warrants immediate recall notice. I was fortunate not to be in heavy traffic when catastrophic failure happened, otherwise an accident would have occurred. I am a [XXX] career Emergency Physician and have enough experience to know when there is a system failure and a near miss. This is not an isolated human event leading to a sentinel event, but a system failure that must be fixed before lives are lost. Hard shifts from 10R80 Transmission in 2022 f150, I’ve had a lot of hard shifts especially in lower gears, clunking sounds and skipping gears every so often, the 10R80 transmission should be recalled in all fords and have the updated parts in them, it is unacceptable to have these kind of trucks transmission failing at 70,000 miles. There is tons of people complaining about this. Thank you

My vehicle was subject to Recall FSA 23S65, which addresses a defect involving the rear axle hub bolt. I brought the vehicle to a Ford-authorized dealership for the recall repair; however, the repair was not properly completed. The rear axle hub bolt subsequently failed, confirming that the recall defect was not adequately remedied. After the bolt failure, I returned the vehicle to the dealership, where technicians stated that the differential is now damaged. They claim that an axle bearing failed independently and dispersed metal contaminants throughout the differential, characterizing this as a coincidence unrelated to the recall issue. However, upon further review by a mechanic, it appears far more likely that the axle bolt failure directly caused or contributed to the bearing failure and resulting differential damage. The vehicle now produces a humming noise while driving, and I have been strongly advised that it is unsafe to operate. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this matter with both the dealership and Ford Motor Company, I have been unable to obtain a satisfactory response or corrective action. This situation raises serious concerns regarding the adequacy of the recall repair and the resulting safety risk.

10 speed [T]ransmission issue first noticed w/ milage under 10k. [T] would “slam” while downshifting from 5/4/3/2 when coming to stop. Gradually progressing in severity w/ increase of milage. [T] has now started to miss gears when upshifting from 3/4/5/6, causing a brief lag in vehicle movement upon acceleration as the transmission attempts to keep up with applied engine power. Dealer has always stated this as “normal.” Dealer also states they “can’t replicate” the issue, even though it has now become a near-daily occurrence. The vehicle also continues to perform a hard downshift from gears already stated. Vehicle is very well maintained and driven appropriately. The original purchasing dealer did perform a PCM update as well as replace the original PCM module around 40k/mi, but issue still is not resolved and progressively worsening. [T] flush & filter replacement was performed recently with scheduled maintenance and nothing was noted regarding abnormalities. Extended bumper-to-bumper warranty is nearing expiration at 100k/mi. Safety-wise, while entering upon a highway, loss of speed while attempting to enter has caused near misses in the past, even with enough space given to enter with moving traffic behind. Vehicle slamming down while coming to a stop causes faster than anticipated stopping or speed reduction. 10r80 transmission slipped between 3rd and 4th gear shift. Truck is available for inspection. The few seconds loss of power is definitely a safety risk. It happened while pulling out onto a highway from a full stop. There are numerous reports of this issue with this transmission. Plan to have transmission inspected by a mechanic ASAP. No warnings of the issue prior to this happening.

The dealer generated a Repair Order stating: “RECALL 23S65 NOT COMPLETE. PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I’m filing this complaint so NHTSA is aware of Ford’s recall remedy parts shortage and the associated prolonged safety risk to owners who cannot obtain a timely repair. See attached document for complaint. I write this letter to you requesting your assistance regarding Ford Motor Co. recall 23S65 / NHTSA Recall 23V896. I received an initial recall notice in May, 2025. For your convenience, I am including a copy for your quick reference. In addition, I have received a subsequent recall reminder from Ford Motor Co. in November, 2025 noting that I have not addressed the safety recall repairs as of yet. I was urged to seek necessary repairs from my local Ford Dealer as soon as possible. A copy of this letter is also included for your reference and records. Please be advised that I have been in contact with my local Ford Dealer located in Montrose, CO on numerous occasions in an attempt to have there service department make the necessary repairs to my 2022 Ford F-150, most recently on January 2, 2026. I have been instructed that parts are still not available for them to fix the recall on my truck. It has been (8) months ago that I received an initial recall notice from Ford Motor Co. A few weeks ago I called the Ford Recall Assistance Center at 1-866-436-7332 in hopes of getting a resolution and timeline for a repair work to be completed on my Ford F-150. Unfortunately, this too was simply a waste of my time and energy as nothing was done to complete the necessary recall work to my vehicle. This has been extremely frustrating. I recognize there are safety issues that make it dangerous to drive my Ford-150 without the necessary recall repair work being completed. My wife and I rely solely on our F-150 for transportation as we are a single vehicle family and we are concerned about a potential future accident or vehicle breakdown. It is difficult for me to comprehend how Ford Motor Company can be so negligent and incompetent in getting this recall notice addressed in a timely fashion. In my opinion, Ford Motor Co.’s inaction in dealing with my F-150 recall is nothing short of being totally unacceptable. Thank you in advance for your consideration and assistance in this matter. If you wish to contact me, listed below is my contact information.

It should be noted, recall 23S65 has already been done prior to this incident. On 12/27/2025, while driving northbound on I65, south of Louisville KY, I lost the rear differential. I was in the middle lane and had to get over to the emergency lane while towing an unloaded flatbed trailer weighing about 4000 lbs. I was almost struck by a couple trucks but was able to get over into the emergency lane. I had my passenger check the differential and saw that while in “drive” the driveshaft was turning freely while I was still stopped. I was able to get the truck off the highway by putting it in 4wd and use the front wheels to drive. I do not remember any warning lamps during this incident. I found a dealer that was close by (Town and Country Ford Louisville) and parked the truck. A week later the dealer confirmed the axles shafts had broken and would need replaced. These are the same axles that were replaced in accordance with the recall. As of 2/16/2026 Ford still does not have any axles for replacement and they are on a national back order totaling over 63,000 units.

Since I've purchased the truck in 2023 I've been receiving in the mail notices about a recall for the rear-axel shaft for my 2022 f150. I am a major proponent of safety and maintenance. Year over year I've attempted to get it fixed at authorized ford dealerships but I've been told a handful of times that the parts are not available and I'm not getting the appropriate urgency required for an issue of this stature. I am embarking on a big trip and I'm concerned about my safety and the safety of others on the road.

Loss of engine coolant resulted in overheating and need to pull off to side of highway. Issue is described in the SSM - 51485 described below 2021-2023 F-150 - 3.5L PowerBoost - Loss Of Engine Coolant Due To External Coolant Leak At The Heat Exchanger Coolant Spigots Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine may experience a loss of engine coolant with possible engine overheat and/or illuminated malfunction indicator (MIL). This may be due to a crack in the exhaust heat exchanger coolant spigots on the top of the exhaust heat exchanger. The exhaust heat exchanger coolant spigots are now released and should be serviced in pairs. It is no longer necessary to replace the muffler inlet pipe assembly for this type of concern. Workshop Manual, Section 309-00D has been updated to include a new service procedure. For claiming, use causal part 18663 and applicable labor operations in Section 05 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. Heat exchanger coolant spigots - NL3Z-18663-A (2 req).

On Acceleration from a stop at approx. 35 miles per hour the rear wheels locked up causing the vehicle to come to an abrupt screeching stop. Almost rear ended by other vehicles causing great concern for safety. According to Ford the codes that kicked off are transmission shift solenoids. This is the second time this happened, fist time was backing out of a driveway, no codes and could not detect. I have fear this could happen at higher speeds and cause great harm.

Transmission malfunctioned leaving me with stuck in an intersection with no power, has down shifted unexpectedly on the highway causing the truck to slow down out of nowhere, also very rough shifts at low speed. No warning lights on the dash, problem appeared intermittently but was confirmed by AutoNation Ford St Petersburg location by Ford tech. Took it to an independent transmission specialist and they also confirmed the failure and found large metal chunks in the transmission oil pan. I am out of warranty and even though it was still drive able and not giving a check engine light, I opted to replace the transmission out of pocket due to safety concerns.

Rear axle bolt has broken, creating issues in the rear end which Ford that said they do not have the parts to fix. The Ford dealership has told me it is perfectly safe to drive although the recall states could result in a crash. The Ford mechanic opened the hubcap and took the broken bolt out still saying it was safe to drive. That was six months ago. I have contacted Ford several times to get my vehicle in And they tell me they still do not have the parts. This is a huge safety issue with Ford not willing to fix the problem. They said they did not have loaner vehicles available either.

See attached document for complaint. I have received several notices concerning this recall, dating back a little over a year. I have called the customer service department several times in the past year. To date, no "fix" is available on a defect that can cause a loss of fuel pressure and flow resulting in a possible engine stall while driving. "An engine stall while driving increases the risk of a crash" unquote from the recall notice. HOW IS A "FIX" NOT AVAILABLE AFTER OVER A YEAR OF NOTICE OF DEFECT! Between my husband and myself, we have bought dozens (no exaggeration) of Ford vehicles (mostly new), but we are seriously doubting our purchase of my 2022 F-150 after this recall. I am continuously driving my [XXX] mother (who walks with a walker) to doctor appointments and errands in my truck. How would I safely assist my [XXX] mother, with a walker, off the middle of a highway if my truck stalls out??? We also tow a trailer with my truck at times. How would we safely pull off a highway with a loaded trailer??? I also had called the Customer Relations Center (1-800-392-3673) on February 23, 2026 and was told the Engineering Department has not determined a repair as of that date. My dealer, Sarchione Ford of Randolph, again checked on the recall "fix" while my truck was in for an oil change on March 6, 2026. No "fix" date was available. Fords' inability to "fix" a serious defect as this, is very troublesome and totally unacceptable. Please contact me concerning this potentially life-threatening, possible accident-causing defect. See attached document for complaint. I am writing with concern that a safety recall on my vehicle has not been corrected by Ford. Please see enclosed recall notice, dated July 2025. Since receiving the notice, I have not been notified to have the vehicle repaired and a recent online check for my VIN number indicated no schedule to complete the recall repair. See attached document for complaint. Almost 5 months ago I received a Safety Recall Notice from Ford about fuel pump failure on certain vehicles including my 2022 F-150. My vehicle suffers from insufficient fuel flow and I'm afraid of losing power or the motor stopping completely at freeway speeds in heavy traffic with little or no shoulder. The clear solution would be to replace the fuel pump. How can Ford be allowed after almost five months to have not fixed the problem? The fuel pump problem is beyond a reasonable amount of time to take corrective action. The local dealership has not seen a Ford remedy for the problem and I've complained twice about the pump on my vehicle. The dealership hopes to see a remedy each month. I would appreciate a response from The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on this very serious safety recall. Almost 5 months surely must be beyond a reasonable time to correct a serious safety issue. Hope to hear from you soon and Thank You in advance.

My 2022 Ford F150 B&O Unleashed Sound System 18SPK explodes from time to time with a deafening noise (pop, then static) that makes you jump. Turning off the radio does not stop the deafening noise. In the past, at times, I was able to stop the deafening noise by switching from satellite to AM radio. This last time, nothing I tried stopped the deafening noise and I could not pull off the road to turn off the truck for 10 minutes. My ears were still hurting the next day. During the 10 minutes I had to wind down the windows which did not help much. The speakers were getting hot to the touch, especially the little tweeter speaker, with a plastic burning smell. Each subsequent time I turned the truck back on (after waiting about a half minute) the deafening noise started again. Then I waited 10-15 minutes before starting the truck and the noise stopped. My truck is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others are put at risk because you jump when the problem occurs and are distracted when endeavoring to stop the problem. The Ford dealership cannot diagnose the problem unless the deafening noise appears at the time of service. The sound system has not been inspected by the manufacturer. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the start of the deafening noise (pop, then static).

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the unresolved rear axle recall on my Ford F150. Although a temporary repair was performed last year, I remain deeply worried about the safety of my vehicle and, more importantly, the safety of my family. I have contacted my local Ford dealership multiple times to address this recall, but each time I am informed that there are no parts available for the necessary repairs. Given that this recall has been outstanding for some time, I am troubled by the apparent lack of urgency from Ford to resolve this critical safety issue. To add to my concern, the axle bolt has already broken once, which poses a significant risk while driving. I urge the NHTSA to intervene and provide assistance in expediting the resolution of this recall. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate any help you can provide. I HAVE ONLY HAD MY 2022 FORD F150 XLT FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND THE AC IS NOT WORKING. IT IS BLOWING HOT. I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND PAID $220 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY SAID IT IS THE EVAPORATOR CORE. DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM SAYS IT PASSED INSPECTION TEST BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW AND 1 MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT IT'S NOT WORKING. VERY DISAPPOINTING BEING I'VE ONLY HAD THE TRUCK A LITTLE OVER A MONTH. AND EVEN MORE DISAPPOINTING EVERYWHERE I LOOK ONLINE EVERYONE IS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE AND FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL.

As reported. while driving the vehicle at night the driver noticed smoke externally behind the truck, upon pulling over smoke started to enter the cab through the dash vents. The driver immediately exited the vehicle went to the front of the vehicle and opened the hood and smoke came from the engine compartment. A flame/fire could be seen in the engine compartment. 911 emergency services were called. In that time the truck engine compartment and cab burned completely.

I was driving to work early in the morning on [XXX], approximately 6:30 am, when all of suddenly i heard a loud bang and I could no longer accelerate my vehicle. I was fortunate enough to have the time to steer off to the shoulder of the highway. I got out of my vechile and my drive shaft was hanging off, broken and twisted. I called a tow truck and got it told to the Ford dealership in Independence, were i bought my vehicle. After a Ford mechanic inspected my vechile the total cost was 8,500 dollars for the repairs. My vehicle warranty was not able to cover that cost because it was over by 5,000 miles. I tow the vehicle to my house to get the opinions of other mechanics to see if they're able to fix the truck. After the mechanics looked at the damage, they all said that it looked like a fabrication issue or a recall. A drive shaft should not just fall off from a 2022 F-150 truck with the mileage the vehicle has. Also, the Rear ends of trucks usually last at least 300,00 miles, and that part was destroyed in my vehicle. My drive shaft looks like it exploded in a unatual fashion. I have attached photos of the damages of the vehicles to provide a visual image of what the mechanic saw. I purchased this newer model truck, so I would not be in this situation. I have made all my monthly payments on time and have kept up with all the maintenance required. I am currently renting a vehicle from Enterprise to get to work, and I would love to get out of this situation. I was lucky enough for my car insurance company to cover most of the cost and for me not to sustain any injuries. I believe it would have been a different story if it had happened during heavy traffic elsewhere, where I could not pull over on the side of the road, my life could have been seriously at risk. I received a recall on my 2022 ford f150 vehicle stating that the wheel end hub bolt in the rear axle may become loose or break. Continued use of the vehicle can cause damages to other vehicles and/or cause crashes. I tried to have this repaired when I received a recall notice back in November 2025 but they were unable to help. I dropped my vehicle off on 1/6/26 for recall repair and they are telling me there are no parts available and won't get a new update letter until 4th quarter 2026.I did ask about providing a rental in the meantime they immediately denied my request. At this time I do not feel safe removing my vehicle from the lot or driving it. I spoke with Earl at Ford Recall Assistance Center on 1/23/26 (ref call number: [XXX]) . I can not go without a vehicle, this is absolutely unacceptable and I am submitting this complaint and will be moving forward with legal counsel. After entering my 2022 F150 Lariat in a parking lot and starting it, I placed my iPhone on the charger and I backed out of the spot I was in with my hazard lights turned on. I placed the vehicle in drive and turned off the hazard lights. As I pulled forward, a deafening sound came from the back seat of my truck that sounded like some kind of electric static with a popping noise. I reflexively pressed the break, ducked my head and tried to turn the volume knob down which did nothing. I pressed the stop/start button to shut the vehicle off and that did not change the sound coming from the door speakers. I jumped out of the truck because the sound was painful and proceeded to use a pair of pliers from a leatherman that I was carrying to disconnect the positive side of the battery; this too did nothing. At this point, I closed all of doors and searched the web on my phone to see if similar problems existed for other owners and if there was a fix. After about 8-10 minutes, the sound stopped. Based on what I read, this was a widely known issue on Ford F150 models between the years 2021-2024. Apparently, Ford has not responded to this yet. If this we’re to happen while driving, it’s would be shocking enough to cause a reflexive action that could put people in danger of a crash. I have video of this occurrence if needed.

Daytime led light went out one side
NHTSA #11743936
The driver-side integrated factory LED headlight assembly experienced a sudden, complete failure of the vertical LED Daytime Running Light (DRL) / parking lamp strip. The vehicle is completely stock, and the electrical system has never been modified or altered. The component failed suddenly with no prior warning lights, dashboard messages, or symptoms. Safety Risk: The failure of the LED DRL significantly reduces the vehicle’s forward visibility and conspicuity to oncoming traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists, particularly during daytime hours, dusk, dawn, and inclement weather. Because only one side is illuminated, oncoming drivers may misjudge the width, position, or presence of the truck, significantly increasing the risk of a front-end or sideswipe collision. Inspection Status: The failed component is currently intact and installed on the vehicle, making it available for inspection upon request. At this time, the problem has not yet been inspected or confirmed by a dealer, independent service center, manufacturer, insurance, or law enforcement.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned? The LED Driver Module and Headlamp Control Module (HCM) software. Specifically, the C-Clamp Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) / Parking Lamps have failed to illuminate or are flickering. The vehicle is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The failure of the parking lamps reduces the vehicle’s visibility to other drivers, especially during dusk, dawn, or inclement weather. This creates a "dark car" profile that increases the risk of a crash, as other motorists may not be able to discern the width or position of my truck on the road. This is a direct violation of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed? Yes, the malfunction is consistent and has been observed during normal operation. A Ford dealership has been contacted; however, they refused to perform a no-cost repair or diagnostic because my specific VIN has not yet been added to Recall 23C36, despite the vehicle exhibiting the exact symptoms described in that safety recall. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by others? No, it has only been inspected by myself and described to a Ford service advisor. (If you took it in and they saw it, change this to: "The dealer service advisor visually confirmed the failure but declined a warranty repair.") Were there any warning lamps or symptoms prior to failure? No warning lamps or messages appeared on the instrument cluster or FordPass app. The failure of the LED C-clamp was the first and only symptom. This occurred on 03/06/2026 when I bought the truck and did not know the C-clamp DRL was not working.

Day time running lamp (DRL) failure. The driver's side DRL is not working anymore on my 2022 Ford F150 XLT with LED light package. The vehicle has 37,000 miles on it. The DRL is a vertical and horizontal strip of white LED's that stay on during the daytime for visibility. I took it to the dealer and they changed the module that runs the light and it would not fix it. They said that the lights are broken in the headlight assembly and it will cost $2,009 to fix the light that is not covered by my extended warranty. Apparently you have to get the "light" package on the extended warranty, when I was told I have a bumper to bumper warranty. How do the LED's burn out that fast. Ford built them into the headlight assemble and they cannot be replaced without buying a whole new assembly. I have seen other vehicles like this on the roadway with only one light working. As an accident reconstructionist, I cannot believe Ford would not take the initiative to fix this for safety reasons. I have done research on the topic and several Ford trucks of this year model are experiencing the same issues. I am surprised this has not become a recall issue due to safety issues. Also, I do not have any aftermarket lighting or attachments that would affect the lighting. Some Ford dealerships use that excuse when the light assembly fails. It is stock lighting with stock bumper and grill and has not been in a front end collision.

I am writing to formally document a recurring and dangerous safety defect involving the B&O audio system. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has emitted an ear-shattering popping noise followed by high-decibel electrical static. This issue is not merely a "speaker glitch"; it is a violent acoustic event that persists even after the ignition is turned off. Critical Safety Concerns: Driver Incapacitation: The volume is loud enough to cause immediate disorientation and potential hearing damage. If this occurs at highway speeds, the risk of a collision is extreme due to the "startle response" and inability to hear sirens or road cues. Electrical Instability: The static is accompanied by a sensation of electrical discharge throughout the cabin. To stop the noise, I am forced to manually disconnect the battery—which itself emits static popping during the process. Repeated Component Failure: The vehicle has already exhausted two batteries and requires a third. I suspect a faulty amplifier is creating a parasitic draw and low-voltage condition, triggering this catastrophic system failure. Lack of Professional Response: Despite SSM 51663 addressing this exact issue, dealerships have refused to perform the software/hardware fix due to the "sporadic" nature of the problem. Furthermore, when I contacted Ford Customer Service, my concerns regarding a potential crash were met with derision. I am requesting an immediate escalation, a formal inspection of the B&O amplifier, and the application of the relevant TSB/SSM software updates. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle, and I am documenting this for the purpose of a Lemon Law evaluation and an NHTSA safety report.

My 2022 Ford F150 wouldn’t start one morning. There was power and a lot of codes came up on the dash pod. I had it towed to the Ford dealer and they confirmed a no start situation. They replaced the under hood fuse box (warped from heat) and ultimately found a chaffed wiring harness with corroded and broken wires. It’s my opinion that a wiring harness is not a wearable item and this was caused by a friction situation. It’s my opinion that this could potentially be a safety issue if I was driving the vehicle and this happened it would be a total loss of power. The Ford dealer repaired the 2 wires and re-taped the harness.

So I was walking back to my truck and could hear a really loud humming/buzzing. As I approached my truck in the parking lot, I realized it was my truck. It was SUPER loud, like the radio was turned all the way up. It had a consistent rhythm to it also. I was wondering if maybe the alarm had tried to go off since I was a QT, but it was just blasting through the internal speakers, nothing over the external speaker. I started it hoping it would stop. It did not, I shut it back off, and restarted it. It was making the super loud noise this entire time. I turned off the radio, turned off the display, disconnected my phone from the connection, and nothing worked. I had to drive home about 15 minutes with it making this horrible and loud pulsating noise the entire time. I parked, turned it off and was going to get tools out of the garage to take off the battery terminal and as I walked back towards it, the noise just stopped. It was so loud, my ears were ringing for a couple of hours afterward. I looked in my ford pass app and it doesn't show any faults or anything. The video/audio does not do it justice for how insanely loud it was..... But you can hear the rhythm that it had. My daughter had a panic attack and ended up vomiting. The vehicle was not on, the phone was not connected as it was not in the truck. There were no warning lights or signs that I could see because it was making the noise as I was approaching the truck. I have a short video of it with the audio noise.

25SB6/25V731 - Safety Recall I have been attempting to remedy this safety recall involving rear tail and reverse lights on my 2022 Ford Lightling Lariat without success. Reverse lights and tail lights stopped working after flickering and moisture was detected in lens. I have called Ford opened up a case and visited local Ford dealership for assistance. Neither Ford or local dealer seems to know when "Part Kit" will be available. The Ford website and NHTSA report claim "Q1-2026" availability. This is a dangerous situation with reverse lights not working and as a result the vehicle will not pass a NYS inspection.

The drivers side window will at times stay in the down position. The safety issue is during rain, snow or very cold conditions the driver is distracted by the down window. The Ford dealers are well aware of this problem and there are many videos out that describe the problem. There is no for warning of a problem.

My vehicle has continued to have major issues with the radio/audio system. The radio will experience an extremely loud distorted sound when I start the vehicle. It is extremely unsafe since the vehicle can't be operated while this is going on. During the worst situation, I've had to disconnect the battery in order to make the sound stop. I had the first issue happen less than 3 weeks after purchasing the truck in 2022. I had to take it to 3 different dealers in my local area, with NO REPAIR action, before I returned it to the original dealer. The Metter Ford dealer put me in a loaner vehicle while the technical engineer researched the problem. During that first problem, the software was reprogrammed and the APIM module was replaced. However, the problem has continued to this day. The last time it occurred was today, on 12/3/2025. I believe Ford released a recent software update for the BlueCruise 1.4 that possibly addressed a radio problem, but it has NOT FIXED my issue.

When I started my 2022 Ford F-150 equipped with the Bang & Olufsen (B&O) sound system, a sudden extremely loud “sonic boom” noise came through the speakers without warning. The sound was so intense it caused immediate pain in my ears, and I am concerned about the possibility of permanent hearing damage. This occurred at startup, before I adjusted any audio settings. This is a serious safety hazard because: The volume level was far beyond normal operation. It caused physical harm (ear pain). Such an unexpected loud noise could startle the driver, leading to loss of vehicle control. I believe this defect poses a risk of injury and should be investigated.
NHTSA #11688558
On July 30, 2025, as I was pulling onto the highway, my audio system started blaring noise from all the speakers in the vehicle. This noise was unbearably loud to the point I had to pull off the road. The noise coming from the speaker system was so loud that it was visibly shaking the door panels in the vehicle. I tried to turn down the volume, but it didn't help. After this, I tried turning off the vehicle's entertainment system, which still didn't help. I finally turned the car off, opened the door, got out, and then closed the door; however, the noise persisted for about 10 seconds before finally shutting off. Upon restarting the vehicle, the noise stopped, and I was able to drive for about a mile before starting again. At this point, I drove the car to my local Ford garage and, the problem was able to be replicated. They could not figure out how to fix the issue, but pulled the fuse to the audio system to prevent the sound from occurring and scheduled me to come back to inspect the vehicle at a later date.

Our 2022 Ford F-150 lost power while trying to proceed into an intersection. I was turning right, exiting a parking lot onto a main road trying to go north. There was a good amount of time with no traffic so I pushed the gas to proceed with my right turn. When I pushed the gas, the truck responded bringing me out into the intersection however before I could get turned the gas pedal stopped responding so I was stuck straight out on the main road with traffic that was heading north coming straight toward my driver side of my truck. I almost got T-boned by multiple vehicles. Traffic slowed and had to stop to move around my truck while I was attempting to get the truck to respond. The truck responded after about 2 minutes of being stalled. We brought the truck into our local ford dealership again (had brought it in before for this same issue described below), they kept it for about a week to try to reproduce the issue again however were not successful again. The dealer said that the truck did not throw any codes when the stall happened and there were no warning lights or messages in the vehicle at the moment that it happened to me. They are now telling us that we need to pick up our truck which we truly do not feel safe in. This is a family vehicle and our daily driver that we drive around our 3 year old child in. It not only put my life in danger that day by stalling, but it put all of the others cars headed toward me - almost T-boning me - in danger. I had a previous instance of this same issue where my truck was non-responsive, but was not on a main road so it wasn't as scary. There were also multiple other times where it experienced the same issue, but did not fully lose power (just kind of lagged when the pedal was pushed). We brought my truck into a local ford dealership for these instances of the issue but they could not reproduce the issue, therefore did not fix it. There was a recall issued for this a couple months back, however currently no fix.

The panoramic moonroof glass shattered while the vehicle was parked and stationary in my driveway. There was no known impact from another object and no occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the incident. I had the moonroof sunshade closed when the glass shattered. The upper surface of the sunshade contained the shattered glass fragments, including both large and small pieces. Upon inspection, I did not observe any foreign object resting on the sunshade, inside the vehicle, or on the ground surrounding the truck that would indicate an object had struck the moonroof. Based on my observations, I am unaware of any external event that caused the glass to shatter. Vehicle mileage was approximately 54,500 miles.

Issue 1: During snow conditions, the windshield wiper arms have detached from the linkage pivot on two separate occasions while in operation. This creates an immediate loss of visibility and a significant safety hazard while driving. In both instances, the detached wiper arm had to be retrieved and manually reinstalled. On one occasion, the arm could not be reinstalled in the field, leaving the vehicle without functional wipers. The component should be available for inspection upon request. The first occurrence happened on Jan 3, 2025. The most recent was Feb 2026. Issue 2: The windshield wipers are currently inoperable. When activated, the wipers move slightly upward (approximately 4–6 inches from the bottom of the windshield), then stall and begin to stutter/twitch repeatedly before stopping completely. There is no visible external damage to the linkage. This condition renders the wipers ineffective and unusable. The issue has occurred during active snowfall, making the vehicle unsafe to operate due to loss of visibility. No prior warning lights or messages were observed before the failure. The issue began suddenly, and was not a slow failure. It also occurred the day after a software update, which I noted because of the changed radio and alarm settings in the vehicle. I believe this was April 14th or 15th. By proximity of the app update, this raises the concern of the issue being related to the app. Based on research, there are multiple current and prior recalls involving similar Ford truck wiper system failures related to linkage lubrication, motor sealing, and sensor faults. The described failures appear to be functionally related and represent a significant safety concern.

My windshield wipers were working on Dec 19th as we drove to the store. When we came back out the wipers or sprayer no longer worked. This caused extreme low visibility while driving on the street. Being an all electric vehicle I figured maybe it was a system malfunction. So I turned the car off to restart and still no fix. After doing some research and checking ford website I found an open recall#22S71, for 2022 Ford F150s(including lightnings, which is my car). The recall is for the wiper motor failing. I called to check if my car was under the recall and was informed that my VIN was not apart of that recall. I explained that it seemed like the same issue but was told it did not matter. I took the truck to an automotive electrical shop and they have confirmed that it is indeed my wiper motor has failed.

In the second year of ownership I noticed that occasionally I would get no throttle response from the gas pedal when trying to accelerate. After several occurrences I began to pay close attention as to when this was occurring. I found that this occurs mostly, not exclusively, when I am slowing the vehicle to a near stop, not a full stop and then accelerating to continue, like slowing to round a corner on a green light and getting into traffic. For example, I was exiting a Home Depot parking lot, the driveway exits to the roadway. As I approached the driveway to enter the roadway I slowed, preparing to stop. Seeing no traffic on the roadway I then pushed the accelerator to enter the roadway. The pedal was dead, I got absolutely no acceleration. I pushed the pedal down slowly, nothing. I pushed the pedal to the floor, nothing. The truck rolled out onto the road, I coasted to the side of the road. Had there been traffic I'd have been hit. This has happened 20 times in two years and 80K miles. The most recent event was this week with my wife present, very scary, dead pedal, not throttle response. If you research "Dead Pedal" on GOOGLE, you will get the following response: The "dead pedal" in the Ford F-150 PowerBoost—a dangerous lag or total loss of throttle response—is a widely reported issue, particularly when accelerating from low speeds, turning, or right after starting. [1, 2, 3] The cause can range from a software glitch to transmission issues or failing sensors. Ford said there was a TSB, however the work performed had no effect on the dead pedal on my truck. Invoice attached from March 2026, it just occurred again this week. I am going to trade the vehicle in but I doubt that Ford will disclose this flaw to the next buyer, it will be their's to discover, hopefully not by "accident". I am going to trade this vehicle in and I'm sure the new buyer will have no idea of this potentially deadly flaw.

My truck has harsh shifting and gets to 3,000 RPM sometimes before it shifts. There is a loud rattle when my car is low acceleration or deceleration when coming to a stop.
NHTSA #11730943
While proceeding through a four-way stop, my vehicle unexpectedly lost driveline engagement. The engine began free-spinning while still in "Drive," and the truck stopped accelerating, leaving me stranded in the middle of the intersection. I had to shift repeatedly between Park and Drive before the vehicle would respond and move again. This is not an isolated incident. The same failure occurred previously in early 2024. The vehicle has also exhibited persistent transmission issues, including gear hunting and harsh downshifts, particularly a hard clunk during the 4–3 shift on deceleration. The dealer has dismissed these symptoms in the past, stating it was due to the transmission being "cold." However, the intermittent loss of driveline engagement presents a serious safety risk to myself and others, especially when it occurs in active traffic situations. This is the second time the vehicle has left me stranded without warning. I’m extremely concerned that Ford has not addressed this recurring safety issue. The condition is unpredictable and dangerous. Immediate investigation and corrective action are needed.
NHTSA #11678384
The recall is 10 months old and no remedy offered. Every time I get behind tge wheel I'm risking an injury or death of myself or someone else. I can't sell my vehicle because it would put the next owner at risk. Do I have to wait until there's an injury or death to have something done about this?
NHTSA #11738123
When driving the gas pedal will go dead or not work at all. I will be driving along then try to push the gas at a left hand turn and nothing will happen. I push the pedal to the floor many times and after a period of time it starts to work again. The issue never puts out a code or check engine light. This is a safety issue for not only me and my family but others on the road as well. If the gas pedal was to fully stop working the truck would be stuck and could cause an accident. The dealer told me they could not reproduce the concern, but they did suggest to replace a temp sensor and reprogram PCM which I paid for, the cost was $870.90

On three occasions when I have started the truck, there is a deafening sound from the speaker system that sounds like a pop with glass shattering. Then it had a loud static sound that can't be silenced and the volume button does nothing. After turning the truck off for 5-10 minutes the problem resolves, though it does continue for several minutes after turning the truck off.

My truck continues to have the radio distortion problems that it has had after numerous software updates and repair actions. Approximately the first week of November in 2022 is when the first radio problem occurred. I only had the vehicle for about a month. The radio played an extremely loud distortion sound, close to an alarm tone, immediately after starting the truck. 3 different Ford dealers attempted software updates and replacing the APIM module, but the issue came back several times. After the last Over the Air software update on SEP 17, 2025, the radio distortion has happened at least 6 times since then. The SEP 17 update specifically addressed the audio issues while using android auto. My warranty expired on July of 2025. I did not take delivery of the truck until late September because of shipping issues. Even with the delayed delivery of the truck, Ford told me that my warranty term was from JUL of 2022 to JUL of 2025. I always keep a 10mm socket in my truck in case I have to disconnect the battery in order to stop the radio distortion. In some cases, I'm able to change the radio source and the distortion will stop. Since the software update on SEP 17, the radio distortion has happened every 3 - 4 weeks. The original dealer that I purchased the truck from recommended that 2 other modules could be causing the problem. The DSP module and the ACM module could also cause the radio distortion. My truck has been out of warranty since July of 2025, but it seems like this issue should be addressed by the Ford team.

Driving home last night looking in my rear view mirrors I noticed it looked dark at the back of my F150. Once home I noticed I had no rear running lights, no brake lights, no rear turn signals. Not sure related but 2 days earlier I noticed that about 5 indicator lights on my dashboard were activated all relating to driver assist lane changing, backing up assist, hill parking assist, traction control and so on.

Was stopped behind a car in line in the parking lot. The truck was in drive with the auto hold brake feature enabled. The auto hold disengaged and the car rolled forward rear ending the car in front of me. Collision alert didn't sound as expected. A similar recall came out August 6 for 2025 F150s.

The electric motors in the hybrid system intermittently fault and fail completely. I get an error saying there's a powertrain/4wd system failure. There's no clear cause. I've had this in for service numerous times. I've paid for a repair that did not resolve it. They had me pay for a repair for a new alternator-generator unit ($1500). When I get this fault, the truck operates only on gas power and does not use any electric motor power. I go from ~21 mpg highway (which is lower than when new) to ~18 mph highway.

A few weeks ago, while driving the vehicle, it displayed an engine misfire warning had extreme vibrations, and then the vehicle broke down, left me sitting on the side of the road. After getting the vehicle towed to a Ford dealership, we found the intake valve broke off on the motor and causes catastrophic complete engine failure. This is an active recall in 21 and 2022 F1 50s with the 2.7 eco-boost. Per Ford my Vin is not attached to that recall and they said I had to call or get a hold of the national highway safety administration and get my Vin attached that recall for engine replacement. My vehicle is a 2022 with 100,000 miles on it and now it’s broke down because the engine had catastrophic engine failure due to a problem. Ford knows about this issue and won’t fix it until I get the vehicles then attached to the recall . The current recall number is 24S55 Thank you

Tail light on the drivers side was hyper flashing and upon inspection found that it is not working. When I removed the tail light to replace the bulb I noticed that the whole tail light assembly was full of water. The bulb is inside a housing that is inaccessible, so bulb cannot be replaced without replacing the whole tail light assembly. Leaking tail light assembly causing failure of turn signals or brake lights is a serious safety hazard and can cause an accident. Additional safety risk if BLIS system fails and driver is not aware that it isn’t working.

I just started the truck, put it in gear, and began driving slowly through the parking lot. The gas pedal was unresponsive—even when pressed all the way to the floor, the truck would not accelerate or move. This has happened multiple times, both while rolling slowly and sometimes from a complete stop. It occurs intermittently.
NHTSA #11730146
Highway Incident: While traveling at highway speeds, a sudden evasive braking maneuver caused the truck to drop power. Upon attempting to re-accelerate, the throttle pedal went to the floor with zero response, and the vehicle continued to decelerate on an active highway. Multiple trailing vehicles had to make emergency maneuvers to swerve around the decelerating truck to avoid a high-speed, rear-end collision. Subsequent Incidents: The vehicle repeatedly forces an uncommanded speed limit of 11 mph while attempting to accelerate from a complete stop or merge from stop signs. This severe lack of predictable acceleration creates an immediate risk of being T-boned or rear-ended by cross-traffic, making the vehicle entirely unsafe to operate in normal traffic conditions. An authorized Ford dealership has confirmed the underlying failure of the hybrid system. They kept the vehicle for approximately one month to replace the entire hybrid drive unit. Following that repair, the vehicle was returned to the dealer a second time, where technicians confirmed a software communication failure between the electric and gas systems, attempting to resolve it by flashing/reprogramming the ECU. The vehicle’s hybrid system and software have been extensively inspected and worked on by manufacturer-certified technicians at an authorized Ford dealership. It has not been inspected by police or insurance, as no physical collision has occurred yet. No warning lamps or messages.

Rear axle bolt fell off and then car stopped being able to move. Axle spins no movement. I was driving while this was happening on a very busy road.. Thankfully I was able to stop in the middle of the road but not able to pull over. Had to push the car out of a busy road. Took truck to dealership and they stated there was no fix and that they shouldn’t give the car back but they did. Then the truck broke down 6 months later. No one has checked on it and there were no lights on dash telling me there was an active issue other than me knowing there was an active recall.

Submitted the vehicle for recall repairs under recalls 25v315, 25v455, 25v104 and 25v517. Maintenance was scheduled to last less than a day. When I returned for the vehicle, I was informed the update had caused several module components to "brick." They informed me they had to receive authority from form to order new components and attempts another repair. I called March 17 for an update and was told the new components bricked again and that the issue was elevated to Ford engineering. Called Ford customer service and was given a case number [XXX]. The passenger door lock/latch actuator is failing. The passenger door will not open from the outside at all. The door has to be opened from the inside. The power lock button and key fob do not unlock the passenger door. I can hear the lock/actuator trying to operate, but the door does not unlock or release from the outside handle. This issue started shortly after we had a historic/unusual cold freeze in Florida. The vehicle is kept outside, so it was exposed to the freezing temperatures. This creates a safety and security concern because the passenger door cannot be opened from the outside in an emergency, and the power lock system does not work properly. The issue has not yet been inspected by a dealer or independent repair shop. No warning lights or messages appeared before the failure. The component is still installed on the vehicle and available for inspection upon request.

In January I brought my truck into ford to get service on the recall 23S65. Since then the recall has broke and I cannot and haven’t been able to drive my truck since then. It has been at Statesboro ford since then sitting waiting on parts. I am under the understanding that the parts have been on back order since 2024 and it could be a year before I even get my truck back and fixed. Since it’s a safety recall I cannot drive the truck especially that it is broken. I would like some sort of repair or fix to this situation, unfortunately I haven’t gotten anything since January. If the issue is not resolved I will be involving a lawyer.

Driving approx 40mph on the road and a loud thump sound followed by grinding from rear end started. Came to stop in the road and when the gas pedal was pushed the grinding sound continued. The truck was pushed off the side of the road and had to be towed to the dealership since January 4th. It has been at the dealership with no estimate of time for repair from the dealership so far and we just keep being told there is nothing they can do. The dealership states that the parts are on back order and we are in a line of several other trucks with the same problem.

Driving on the highway at highway speeds, heard clanking then a loud bang, then vehicle would not longer respond to the accelerator so we coasted onto the median. We had the vehicle towed and found out from a Ford dealer that the rear axle had broken due to Ford's failure to repair under Manufacturer Recall Number23S65 NHTSA Recall Number23V896 and that had caused damage to the rear differential. We were fortunate not to have been in or caused a significant accident. I had the vehicle at a Ford dealer in Illinois in 2024, but the recall was not performed due to lack of parts. This incident happened thereafter, in November of 2025, and the vehicle has been off of the road at a Ford dealer in Indiana since. Same story, no parts. Ford offers no timeline for repair, advising it could be 3 months, could be a year - it is indefinite. I recently was advised that there are 70,000 orders for the parts for this repair, and although I am on the "emergency off road list" that is still 15,000 orders long. Additionally, I had the vehicle in early in my ownership window for lags when the transmission shifted at certain times, it was checked and given the all clear, but - intermittently arose - given Ford representations I ignored it but never felt the delays were safe as it slowed vehicle responsiveness, albeit it slightly. I now see active litigation around these transmission issues in the F-150.

I have a 2022 f150 2.7l with 46000 miles. I have had issues with the truck ever since I bought it. The safety issue is a few things. One when I put it in reverse my truck shudders and acts like I pressed on the break really fast several times. I also havr an issue with a cold start when I start it up the truck it acts like it wants to die or looses rpms. I here a paddling coming from the intake valves possibly. Im not sure what part is broke but it makes a rattling sound. Iv brought it to the dealership that I bought the truck from and they say we domt notice anything and its been a struggle to get them to actually thoroughly look into it. Im concerned it will lead to an engine failure because it also loses power and wants to die at times. Iv taken excellent care of the truck and always change oil and any parts on time. It also when I put it in drive makes a loud clunk sound and has a very hard time shifting gears between 3 and 4. Very rough shifting and very concerning.

Where is Ford at on the recall from like July 2025? NHTSA 25V455, safety recall notice 25S75. How long do they have to get a resolution? Seems like they have had plenty of time to resolve this issue. It seems more important than this last recall for a computer update. I can choose not to haul a trailer. I cannot choose for a stall due to loss of fuel pressure and flow from fuel pump failure. I am only curious of how long they are allowed to come up with a solution.

I recently ought a 2022 Ford F-150 off of a private seller. It had a clean Carfax when I bought it. About a month after I bought the truck, on July 24, 2025, the following warning lights appeared on my dash all on the same day. Blind Spot Assist Not Available, Cross Traffic Assist Not Available, and Reverse Brake Assist Not Available. Also, my drivers side window would not roll down, and my drivers side lock/unlock buttons would not work. There were not any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. So I took my truck into Gary Smith Ford in Fort Walton Beach, FL. on July 25, 2025 and they came back with the file I have uploaded below with the diagnosis and estimate. Of course the warranty has just expired a few months ago. We tried to make a claim with our insurance company and that was denied. I have also reached out to Ford Customer Service and they refused to help in any way. We were also never offered a loaner vehicle and my truck has been at the dealership for three weeks now. I am currently Active Duty Military and this is now effecting my ability to report for duty, and causing my leadership to question me. It is also effecting my family as we now only have one vehicle. As you can see in the link below, the estimate is quite high. and it is extremely frustrating that Ford has refused to help in any way, and will not provide any logical reason as to why except that the warranty is expired. Especially since this isn't my fault at all. Any help in rectifying this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

This is regarding ford's known issue with their evaporator cited in TSB 22-2089. The evaporator caused a compressor to fail, which caused a power train failure notification in sync and on the phone app. The compressor is under warranty, but the evaporator is not, which causes a $3600 repair (parts and labor). According to the bulletin, the evaporator known issue is NOT considered a threat to life, even though it certainly is a threat to life to not have air conditioning in hotter states. The part is currently being replaced at our local dealership.
