Complaints Filed with NHTSA

The following are consumer-reported complaints filed with NHTSA. These are unverified allegations and are not proof that any defect exists.

Forward Collision Avoidance11 complaints

While driving in a plaza parking lot at approximately 18mph the AEB engaged for no reason. There were not any objects near our car to activate the system. The AEB activated so quickly and abruptly that my spouse and I needed to seek medical attention due to whiplash.

Allegedly reported: 2 injuries (as reported to NHTSA). NHTSA #11736594

Contining with issue referenced in 11701484. This morning (1/28/26) when leaving my home, I backed out of my driveway. Once I put the car into drive, the forward collision warning went off and locked up my car. The brakes would not release and I could not move out of the way of oncoming traffic. I do not know what allowed the brakes to finally release. I changed over to 4x4, put it into park and back to drive. My car finally was then allowed to move.

NHTSA #11713861

I was pulling out of my parents' driveway with my sister, who is almost 7 months pregnant in the passenger seat. Before we could get down the driveway, my car VIOLENTLY slammed itself into park to the point that I was convinced I had to have hit someone. No warnings no nothing, just WHAM, causing my lower back to feel tweaked now. After jumping out and seeing nothing, I immediately brought my car to the dealership for inspection. When I arrived, I was told that the sensors are just too sensitive, and the gentleman helping me also has the same vehicle. He said his wife hates the car and turns off all safety features in order to drive the car. You want me to turn off all the safety features to prevent a crash because it is turning itself on and could cause one? I do not feel comfortable operating this vehicle with myself in the car, let alone the two very young nephews and my pregnant sister, who I frequently drive around. I have already brought the car in for this reason and they claim there is nothing they can do.

Allegedly reported: 1 injury (as reported to NHTSA). NHTSA #11702715

This forward collision system will engage at inappropriate times when there is no crash concern. This vehicle has routinely engaged in a highway setting locking up the brakes and forcing the vehicle to a full stop on the highway with vehicles at speeds of 60+mph causing a grave safety risk and an immanent risk of serious injury or death from a serious highspeed crash. This software simply does not work and is not designed and programmed properly. It should not be on the road and shouldnt be used in a public setting. Each instance of my safety concern there was not a vehicle withing the proper distance that a crash was going to occur.

NHTSA #11701686

The auto emergency braking engaged while making a left turn. No cars in front. Had someone been behind me, they could have easily hit me. The seat belt locked as well resulting in being able to feel the seat belt inprint hours afterwards. This incident just happened on 11/24/25 and has not be inspected by any dealership or service center. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the incident.

NHTSA #11701484

When making left hand turn the AEB activated for no obvious reason almost causing rear end collision chain reaction for traffic behind making same left hand turn.

NHTSA #11648517

While driving, most often at dawn/dusk and commonly with cruise control engaged, the vehicle will falsely detect a vehicle ahead when none is present. It then triggers sudden Automatic Emergency Braking along with a crash/forward-collision indicator, causing an abrupt speed drop of 15–20 mph. This is a major safety concern for my family and me while commuting in our family vehicle. If a vehicle behind us follows too closely and does not brake as rapidly as this faulty feature activates, it could cause a severe rear-end collision, or the driver may swerve into the other lane and collide with other vehicles to avoid hitting my vehicle, which has suddenly decreased speed. Other safety concerns related to this faulty braking feature include passenger whiplash and strains when the vehicle suddenly decelerates, instability on wet/snowy/icy roads, and the loss of an important safety feature. This vehicle safety feature cannot be used due to faulty braking.

NHTSA #11708602

I’ve been in pain for 3 days since the last time my auto braking slammed on the brakes. The situation this time was in the school pick up line, where there are 3 rows of cars and I was in the middle lane. This is a very slow progressing line bc each lane has one car move forward at a time and we then move forward and stop It slammed on the brakes so much harder than I would even have been braking in that scenario and I thought I’d been rear ended. It’s happened another time when I was in moving traffic and created a very dangerous situation which fortunately we did not end up causing a crash. I’ll be disabling the feature immediately as it’s much more dangerous than useful and I am in so much whiplash pain this time around it’s insane

NHTSA #11641381

Automatic emergency braking engages violently on occasions when there is no obstruction present. It has left me at times with my vehicle stationary half way into a high speed traffic lane with the parking brake engaged. The time it takes to disengage the brakes leaves the vehicle in a dangerous position in the roadway.

NHTSA #11623846

The emergency collision avoidance braking automatically activated for no reason. Twice it happened at highway speed, once at 65 mph, once at 55 mph. On the one occasion we were approaching a highway overpass, it was bright and sunny - I suspect the system saw a shadow that it thought was somehow going to be a crash and momentarily activated brakes. The other time at highway speeds - I didn't see anything in particular that it was reacting to. Once this happened at about 30 mph, I suspect it saw a dark patch of asphalt. All of the times was just a moment, it was kinda scarry.... glad there wasn't anybody closely following us - could have gotten rear-ended. I have now disabled the system.

NHTSA #11609909

On the evening of [XXX], I was making a left hand turn onto [XXX] from [XXX]. I was the second car in line on the left turn green arrow. The first car went to the right lane. I went into the left lane. My car immediately flashed the light in the front window, the alarm went off, and slammed the brakes as if something was in front of me. Nothing was in front of my car in the left lane. Luckily there wasn't a car on my rear bumper otherwise I would have been rear-ended. This is the 2nd time at the same intersection making the same turn that my Blazer has done that. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

There is a defect in the motorized electric charge port door. When you press the button it rarely works to open the charge port door leaving me with unable to charge my vehicle. I fear this will leave me stranded and my only course of action will be to rip the door off in anger. Many others are experiencing this issue. Chevy needs to address this.

NHTSA #11726216

I am filing a complaint regarding my 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV (VIN: [XXX] ) due to an unresolved defect and repeated unsuccessful repair attempts. My vehicle has been presented to the dealership on four separate occasions for the same recurring mechanical noise issue. Despite these repair attempts, the defect has not been corrected. In total, the vehicle has been out of service for approximately thirty cumulative days. After the most recent repair, the same issue has again returned. I now have video documentation of the recurring defect. Additionally, during one of the repair visits, I was provided a gas-powered rental vehicle and incurred out-of-pocket fuel expenses, despite owning an electric vehicle. General Motors has declined to offer reimbursement for these expenses. Due to repeated unsuccessful repair attempts and the amount of time the vehicle has been out of service, I have formally placed General Motors on notice under Michigan’s Lemon Law and am pursuing review for repurchase or replacement eligibility. I am requesting assistance from the Attorney General’s office in obtaining a fair resolution, including reimbursement for expenses incurred and proper resolution of the ongoing defect. NHTSA #11717690

The keyless entry and start system intermittently fails to detect the key fob, preventing the vehicle from starting, locking, or unlocking. On one occasion, a "Service Keyless Start System" warning appeared on the dashboard while the vehicle was being driven at 75 MPH on a highway. The driver was unable to safely stop and feared the vehicle would become inoperable in traffic if turned off. The issue first occurred on January 1, 2026. Both key fobs were tested with new batteries — both exhibited the same failure, indicating the defect is in the vehicle's key detection system, not the fobs. Roadside assistance confirmed this was an EV-specific system issue they could not resolve. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Chevrolet dealership for repair. It was in the shop for approximately 5 days. The dealership performed a full system upgrade and completed safety recalls but stated they could not replicate the key detection issue. Within approximately 30 minutes of picking up the vehicle after the first repair, the "Service Keyless Start System" warning reappeared while driving at highway speed. Two days later, the vehicle completely failed to start, lock, or unlock, displaying "No Key Found" with the battery at 100% charge. The vehicle was towed back to the same dealership for a second repair attempt. During the second escalation, the manufacturer's EV support team noted that the manufacturer's internal system showed safety recalls still appearing as open, which appeared inconsistent with the dealership's paperwork from the first visit claiming those recalls were completed. The vehicle has been serviced twice for this defect. The component — the keyless entry/start detection system is available for inspection. The intermittent nature of the failure makes it especially dangerous, as the driver cannot predict when the vehicle will become inoperable. This defect poses a serious safety risk if the vehicle loses key detection while being driven at highway speeds in traffic.

To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this complaint regarding my **2024 Chevrolet Blazer** and the handling of my case by GM, GM Financial, and affiliated dealerships. In **sub-zero temperatures**, the heating system in my vehicle completely failed while I was transporting my **newborn child**, creating a serious safety concern. I immediately sought assistance at **Moran Chevrolet**, where I was denied service, told no loaner vehicles were available, and advised to continue driving the vehicle despite the dangerous conditions. Out of necessity, I drove over **30 miles** to **Al Serra Chevrolet**, where my vehicle was finally taken in. I was provided a **gas-powered loaner** and was explicitly told that fuel expenses would be covered through **GM Executive Concierge**. Unfortunately, my experience with GM Concierge has been unacceptable. I was assigned a representative but have **never spoken to her live**, despite numerous calls and clear communication of my availability. I have spent **hours** attempting to obtain reimbursement and assistance, without resolution. My vehicle is now **back in the shop**, and this matter remains unresolved. Additionally, although I have paid my vehicle payment to remain current, I am requesting **reimbursement of this payment**. This expense was incurred as a direct result of GM’s failure to provide timely service, a comparable loaner, and effective concierge assistance during a documented safety-related vehicle failure. I paid under necessity to mitigate further harm, and reimbursement is appropriate to fully resolve this matter. I am requesting: • Reimbursement for fuel expenses related to the loaner vehicle • Reimbursement of the vehicle payment made under necessity • A written explanation for the concierge communication failures • Assurance that safety-related failures are handled promptly • Confirmation that this complaint has been escalated

NHTSA #11711033

Recall N252503010 / 25V433 – 2024 Chevy Blazer EV. Dealer cleared my VIN after only a visual “inspection” and later applied software updates. The official remedy requires rerouting/taping or replacing the brake harness, not software. My VIN was falsely marked “recall complete” while the safety defect remains unresolved.

NHTSA #11691494

On one occasion, the doors locks failed to respond to multiple unlock attempts (using the buttons on 3 of the handles and using the remote). After 5 minutes or so, the door locks finally responded to a command from the key fob to unlock.

NHTSA #11642056

This may or may not be a true safety issue depending on definition. The charge door will not open some of the time. It starts to open and then closes right a way. Depending on where you are this could be a safety issue in that you could get stuck somewhere not close to any kind of service to get the door open. You could just be in a place that is just not safe to be stranded for a period of time. This problem is preventable. I my case it appears to be dust getting in a switch that causes it not to lower when the door starts to open. It takes me put to 20 times so far to get the door open when I am home with plowing air in side the door during the short time it is partly open. You will find many variations of complained on the issue on the Blazer EV Forum. Here is an example. [XXX] . I am not aware of GM recognizing this problem. This has happened to me 3 times now while at home. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Dear NHTSA, I am writing to express concern about the excessive noise generated by the Pedestrian Warning System (PWS) on my 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV. While I understand the importance of these systems for pedestrian safety, the current volume level is unreasonably loud and intrusive. The PWS on this vehicle activates at low speeds, (below 25mph), creating significant noise pollution both inside and outside the vehicle. This excessive noise is not only irritating but also potentially harmful to the well-being of drivers, passengers, and particularly our furry friends. I have hearing aids, and it is painful to my ears! I request that the NHTSA investigate the volume levels of Blazers EV PWS systems to ensure they are both effective for pedestrian safety and considerate of vehicle occupants. They need to match combustion engine noise levels and no more. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

See attached document for complaint. I am writing to formally notify you, pursuant to the California Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (California Civil Code§§ 1790 et seq.), that my 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV, VIN 3GNKDHRK4RSXXXXXX is subject to an active safety recall N252503010 for the parking brake system. GM has acknowledged the defect, but no genuine repair or remedy Is available. I have already experienced problems with the parking brake, which substantially impair the safety, use and value of the vehicle. Due to the severity of this defect, I have placed the vehicle at the dealership, Woodland Motors, and it will remain there until GM completes the buyback process. I refuse to drive it because it is unsafe. I further understand that GM has instructed the dealership to adjust the depth sensor as so-called remedy. This adjustment has no bearing on the parking brake defect and cannot be reasonably be considered a repair nor the taping of brake lines that they also instructed to do. It does not address the safety risk or brake failure or unintended activation. Under California Civil Code§ 1793.2, the manufacturer must repair any defect that substantially impairs the use, value, or safety of the vehicle within a reasonable number of attempts and within a reasonable period of time. Since GM has no remedy and cannot provide a repair, it is impossible to comply with this requirement. Accordingly, I hereby demand that GM immediately: Repurchase my vehicle for the full purchase price, including sales tax, registration, finance charges, and any incidental or consequential damages. In addition, I request GM immediately provide me with a loaner vehicle or GM-paid rental until this matter is resolved, as it is unsafe to operate my current vehicle. If GM fails to resolve this matter promptly, I will retain legal counsel and pursue all available remedies, including attorney's fees, court costs and civil penalties under California Civil Code §1794.

Visibility/Wiper8 complaints

There is a glare from the dashboard of the vehicle that shines onto the windshield and causes visibility to be nearly impossible. I am unable to see certain things on the roadway as a result. This happens every single time the sun happens to be out and is an extreme safety issue. This vehicle is not safe to operate or be on the roadway in any way shape or form

NHTSA #11682569

Glossy components on the Blazer EV dashboard reflect onto the windshield in most daylight driving conditions. The glare is excessive and makes it difficult to discern pedestrians and other obstructions. Chevrolet acknowledged the design flaw when they recently started providing free dash covers for the Equinox EV. The Equinox and Blazer EV dashboards are essentially the same. A dash cover is not a permanent solution though, and Chevrolet should replace the glossy dashboard components with a material that is less reflective.

NHTSA #11681223

Yesterday afternoon the front wipers stopped working during down pouring rain. I had to drive home 10 miles with no wipers.

NHTSA #11680593

The glare on the windshield for the Blazer EV is terrible when driving toward the sun. It makes it hard to see and unsafe.

NHTSA #11690704

When driving during the day, specifically facing the sun, there is a glare on the windshield from the dashboard which decreases visibility. it makes it very difficult to see anything to the right of center for the driver and almost impossible for the passenger to see anything directly in front of the vehicle at times.

NHTSA #11658110

While driving the vehicle the reflection from the dashboard onto the windshield on a sunny day causes vision to be impaired to where sometimes you cannot see pedestrians or animals at certain angles. This happens constantly while day driving and increases in impaired vision depending on the direction of travel relative to the sun.

NHTSA #11653363

On several occasions (10+) the windshield wiper would not activate when turning the dial on the stalk. On all but one occasion, the stalk worked on the next drive. That one occasion, the stalk worked on the following drive. There are no lights or warnings, the wipers just fail to work. This is more problematic

NHTSA #11642055

Wipers, Yes available for inspection Wipers would not operate regardless of control speed setting while driving on interstate, could not clean windshield and visibility was dangerously diminished The windshield solvent sprayer did NOT work as well Once I parked, turned off car, started car 30 minutes later and the Wipers were back to operating normally. Not confirmed, because it happens intermittently No Inspections No warning lights or indicators

Service Brakes8 complaints

The vehicle has engaged the brake on multiple occasions unexpectedly. This is related to the recent recall that GM announced and is unable to repair. I have made multiple attempts to reach GM through written mail, phone, X and the BBB and have not received a satisfactory resolution as the safety issue persists.

Service Brakes,Forward Collision Avoidance6 complaints

I am reporting a potential safety defect involving unintended automatic emergency braking/forward collision warning/brake-control behavior, reverse automatic braking, parking brake behavior, and driver-assistance/sensor calibration. Incident XXX ~11:15 AM, [XXX] driving 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV ~20–25 mph on/near [XXX]. Vehicle displayed red collision alert and abruptly braked hard although the lane was clear; only a car was parked in a driveway on the right. Sudden braking created serious risk of rear-end collision/loss of control. Vehicle used for family transportation; toddler (~30.8 lb) had been in vehicle ~10 minutes before and family includes blind/visually impaired passenger. History of unwanted reverse emergency braking ~every 45 days: Jan 2026 near Crust Pizza Woodforest (backing up) and March 2026 at H-E-B 7988 FM 1488 Magnolia (backing out), jolting child in rear-facing car seat. Prior service at Keating Chevrolet Nov 12, 2025 (including recall/service for Unintended Parking Brake Engagement N252503010 and missing chassis harness plugs update) did not resolve unwanted braking. After June 10, AEB/front pedestrian braking/intersection collision braking were disabled as temporary safety mitigation. Vehicle removed from daily family use, available for inspection, and I request NHTSA review. Any inspection should preserve relevant braking/parking/AEB/forward collision/sensor data before any reset/update/repair. My son was driving in stop and go traffic on I-95 and he rear-ended another car. No safety features activated: i.e. dash warning lights, audible noise, auto breaking. Last week I was at teh dealer for the recall that effected the Emergency Breaking system. Talking with the dealer some updated turns the auto system off, or otherwise adjust the settings that I have prior. Backing out of the driveway the car lock up the breaks when it sees my trash can, but not on the highway? The dash warning lights randomly light up with nothing in front of me. I know the system does not prevent every accident, but it seems to pick and chose what it warns about. It is more a hazard then a help in its present state.

On April 7, 2025 while backing out of the driveway, my son's car abruptly stopped. The manhole cover at the end of our driveway triggered the emergency braking system. My head was slammed against the headrest and caused a great deal of pain in my head. On April 15, 2025, I went to Kaiser and was told that I have a concussion.

I have had the car for 3 weeks and twice it has slammed on the brakes for an instant at slow speed. Both times I was at least 20 feet behind another vehicle travelling at less than 10mph when the brakes locked up for an instant throwing me against the seatbelt very hard and bringing me to an emergency stop. The first time the stop was so hard I thought the car behind me had hit me but it had not. I thought maybe it was the emergency braking but there was no alert or warning as there usually is when the car warns me of possible collision. The last time I contacted OnStar and asked the run a diagnostic which they said came back with no errors. I have not taken the car to the dealer since i cannot reproduce the problem.

Driver Information Centre (DIC) and Infotainment go dark. This has happened twice now over the last 2 months. While driving suddenly the infotainment goes blank and loses the radio and then the DIC follows by going blank (dark). So I was left with no speed indication. While driving the vehicle loses power to the instrument panel and gauges and infotainment system. The vehicle remains under power however the driver looses the ability to see how fast the vehicle is moving or any information as the entire dashboard loses power. Left turn signal can activate by itself after right turn. Details: Driving and making a right turn with the right turn signal active, after the turn when the signal cancels, the signal sometimes activates the left blink-to-pass feature causing the left signal to blink 3 times. This appears to be because the turn signal arm falls too hard. When turning onto a multi lane road this causes confusion to drivers coming up behind where they think I am moving into the left lane, but I am not. GM has loaded software to reduce this but it still happens. They replaced my turn signal arm and it still happens (much less often now). I can prevent it from happening by using my finger to dampen the turn signal arm when it cancels by catching it and slowing it down. I stopped using my turn signal completely as it is embarrassing when it does this.

I entered my vehicle, and began to reverse when I noticed that the backup camera did not show up. Then I saw that my instrument cluster was not appearing either. I did a reset on the infotainment and the entire instrument cluster and infotainment set of screens stayed black. I had to leave the area so I ended up driving a few miles with no gauge cluster, camera system, or dash indicator lights. Eventually this was rectified by leaving the vehicle off for several minutes, but now I fear this issue will return unexpectedly again.

Right rear tail light failure. Does not light up with headlamps on or when braking and flashes very fast when signal is turned on. Get a warning message on the info screen stating "Right Rear lamp failure" every time I signal a right turn. Dealer documented issue but states that this is a known issue with no fix at this time and GM instructed dealer to not attempt any repairs at this time. This is a known issue in the GM forums about this vehicle and it is always the right rear LED lamp that has this problem. Potential safety issue when no brake light lights on that side of the car and the fast flashing directional may be confusing to traffic.

I recently purchased this EV Blazer and one day I went to charge it at a fast charging station. It would not charge and so I got it to the Chevy dealership in Yakima, WA. They told me that the battery itself had been physically damaged due to the location of the battery and it not being protected. I have no recollection of ever hitting anything and there was no visible or damage to any other part of the Blazer. It seem to me that the location of the battery and it being unprotected is a major design flaw.

I am writing to report a serious safety concern regarding the adaptive cruise control and rear cross-traffic alert systems in my Chevrolet Blazer. These systems are malfunctioning in unpredictable and potentially dangerous ways. On multiple occasions while driving on the expressway, the adaptive cruise control has abruptly and forcefully applied the brakes without any apparent reason. There have been no vehicles directly in front of me posing an immediate threat. While there may be traffic in adjacent lanes, my lane has been clear. This sudden deceleration is alarming and dangerous, creating a significant risk of rear-end collisions from vehicles following too closely. The red lights will come on and indicate an imminent problem but it is a malfunction. The abrupt stops are frightening for all passengers, and the frequency of this occurrence is troubling though on rare occasions since I have first owned the car. I have observed similar complaints from other Blazer owners on online forums, reinforcing my concern that this is not an isolated incident. The dealer has not being able to reproduce but acknowledges that other drivers have a similar issue. Further compounding this issue is the malfunctioning rear cross-traffic alert system. While backing up at low speeds, the system will unexpectedly and forcefully engage the brakes, even when there are no vehicles present in the surrounding area. While less dangerous than the expressway issue, this erratic behavior still indicates a significant system flaw. I understand that adaptive cruise control and rear cross-traffic alert are intended as safety features, but their current malfunctioning poses a substantial safety risk. I urge you to investigate this matter thoroughly. I expect these features to function correctly and reliably. I request immediate action to address these defects and ensure the safety of myself and other drivers.

This vehicle with a total of 700 miles on the odometer, gave several warning notifications this morning on my way to work. Service high voltage system, reduced acceleration notification. I was on the interstate and suddenly became unable to accelerate to keep up with traffic, creating a dangerous situation for my safety. This is a know problem with the Blazer EV, as GM had previously issued a stop sale order in December of 2023, a supposed software update was issued and they continue to sell the dangerous vehicles, as the software update did not fix the problem as I just experienced it today, on a car I bought brand new 2 weeks ago with 700 miles on the odometer.

The high voltage system and charging system have both failed in this car three separate times. It has spent almost 50 days in service for high voltage system issues in the 110 days that I’ve owned it. The manager at the dealership told me that a lot of the Blazer EVs that they have sold have had this exact issue and that GM doesn’t seem interested in actually fixing it. They change sensors in the car but don’t want to spend the money actually fixing the battery. Plenty of other owners online have had the exact same issue, many times in the first week of ownership, one before they even drove off the lot. There is a systemic and recurring issue with the high voltage systems in the Blazer EVs.

This vehicle experiences multiple recurring safety-critical system failures while driving, creating a dangerous operating condition for both the driver and the public. 1. Dashboard / Instrument Cluster Failure While Driving While the vehicle is in motion, the dashboard display intermittently shuts off completely. When this occurs, I cannot see my speed, warning lights, battery status, or any other gauges. This creates a severe safety risk because I am effectively driving without any instrument information. The issue occurs while actively operating the vehicle on public roads. 2. Navigation / GPS Location Failure The vehicle’s built-in mapping system frequently shows my location several states away from my actual position. Even though the location is incorrect, the system continues to provide turn-by-turn navigation instructions based on the incorrect location. If these directions were followed, it could cause a driver to make unsafe maneuvers or become distracted while attempting to correct the navigation error. 3. False Automatic Emergency Braking Activation The automatic braking system frequently activates even when there are no vehicles, pedestrians, or obstacles present. The vehicle abruptly slows or brakes on open roads with nothing nearby. This creates a significant safety hazard because it could cause a rear-end collision if another vehicle is following. Repair History / Ongoing Issue: This vehicle has been taken in for repair multiple times for these issues. Despite attempted repairs, the problems continue to occur. The recurring nature of these failures indicates a systemic defect that has not been corrected. The manufacture insist it is a software problem and that they are working on a solution. Declining to replace the radio under warranty, additionally, they want me to wait until a new update is released, and in the meantime, my bumper-to-bumper warranty is about to expire. The rear signal does not flash, but periodically will flash quickly for 2-3 flashes and go out again. The dealership stated it "...could be a list of things..." and are currently trying to find a resolution. The vehicle had a stored "low amperage" code when the dealership pulled the codes. This first happened early morning on 11/13/24 and again happened early morning on 11/14/24. Obviously having an interment rear turn signal is a safety issue.

Electrical System,Vehicle Speed Control,Fuel/Propulsion System1 complaint

I’ve had intermittent issues where the one pedal driving feature would disable itself. Last night I narrowly avoided a T-bone collision as the OPD deactivated and as I approached a junction it took me a second to realize the car was not stopping and it was only by sheer luck that the other vehicle stopped abruptly so we didn’t collide.

The collision avoidance and automatic breaking is know. To be defective enough that employees on the forum suggest changing to alert only. But it goes off so much that I tend to ignore it subconsciously which could lead to a serious accident

Electrical System,Exterior Lighting,Unknown Or Other1 complaint

On multiple occasions the electrical system of my car has gone completely haywire. Various error messages display on the dash referencing problems with almost all car systems including: high voltage battery warning, reduced acceleration, power steering failure, and others. These error message occur in conjunction with the display screens flickering, all the fixed dash warning lights coming on, and the heater turning on full blast without my input. The blinkers also stop working during these electrical events which is a safety hazard to other vehicles. I have taken the car into the dealer multiple times but they still don't know how to fix it. Software updates have not worked. I have pictures and videos of the events occurring. I have also read on message boards that other Blazer EV owners have this exact same problem.

Electrical System,Engine,Fuel/Propulsion System1 complaint

The High Voltage System failed three separate times within the first 3 months of ownership. Has spent total almost 30 days in the shop getting repairs. It happened at 400 miles, 800 miles, and 2200 miles. The car was unable to charge, unable to drive at full Highway speeds, and was a safety hazard because it could shut down at any moment according to the manual. The last time it happened was while I was driving home from a work trip. I had to drive 100 miles in 100° heat without functional AC and at limited speeds, hoping that the car wouldn’t shut down on the freeway in the middle of nowhere because the charging system failed while I was charging to complete my trip. Fortunately I made it home with 2% battery remaining, but if my house was another 10 miles away, I would’ve been stuck on the side of the road. The Blazer EV is a safety hazard, and multiple other people online are reporting similar problems enough that it could warrant a recall.

Fuel/Propulsion System,Forward Collision Avoidance1 complaint

This vehicle massively underperforming based on what was told to me at the time of sale (250–300-mile range), I have never come even close to that range. I am averaging about 125 miles using about 70% of the fully charged battery. I WAS informed that during colder temperatures I would experience faster battery degradation but it was not mentioned that it could be as dramatic as losing 50% of my range. I feel the mileage has been massively inflated to seem better situated to compete in today's EV market at the direct expense of consumers. In addition to the blatant falsehoods I have been told, the automatic emergency braking is seriously dangerous and primed to get people killed. In 6 months of driving, I have had no less than 4 separate experiences in which the AEB system engaged when there was not a vehicle or pedestrian infront or around my vehicle, engaging a full locked braked at speeds between 15 - 25 mph.

Steering1 complaint

Telescoping adjustable steering wheel would not lock into place. If adjusted to multiple different positions, the steering wheel would fall out of position and drop in height as well as in towards the dashboard without warning. This occurred several times while driving as well as while parked. Took back to the dealership and was told initially that it was just the locking mechanism that needed to be replaced. Now the dealership is telling me that the entire steering column needs to be replaced.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV. The contact stated that the liftgate intermittently closed independently after opening with the fob key. The contact was concerned that he and others might be injured while standing near the liftgate when the failure occurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25.

Other1 complaint

Multiple safety-critical systems have malfunctioned since shortly after purchase, continuing to this day. The most serious is the forward collision braking, which has triggered randomly during normal driving. These braking events have occurred on highways and surface streets, posing a serious risk if a vehicle were following closely. During arbitration, the manufacturer admitted this is a known defect with no current fix, yet continues to return the vehicle marked as “repaired.” Additional issues include: Adaptive cruise control failure Intermittent charging failures (won’t initiate or randomly stops mid-charge) Infotainment screen freezing or going blank Inconsistent air conditioning performance Rear hatch failing to open/close and requiring physical force Bluetooth audio that disconnects unless the vehicle is powered off for 15+ minutes These problems have been reported to two GM-authorized dealerships. One repair attempt at a second location was ignored in arbitration. I also contacted GM corporate multiple times directly, requesting support. My attempts were either unanswered or dismissed, with no action taken. Many concerns were labeled “unable to duplicate,” even when I provided documentation. No warning lights appear with braking or charging failures. Most issues temporarily resolve after a full power-down, suggesting a software or control system fault. The manufacturer participated in arbitration and acknowledged the unresolved defects, but refused to provide further oversight or assign a factory technician. The vehicle is available for inspection. I am reporting this because the problems are ongoing and impact safety, reliability, and functionality.

Power Train,Electrical System,Vehicle Speed Control1 complaint

Although the owner's manual specifically states "When enabled, One-Pedal Driving applies in R (Reverse) and D (Drive). This feature remains enabled until manually disabled by the driver." One pedal drive does not work in reverse. Car does not creep in reverse like an ICE vehicle, but quickly lurches backward, surprising an experienced or forgetful driver and possibly endangering pedestrians walking or standing behind the car. Dealer service has checked it and consulted with Chevrolet, who refuses to address the issue, saying the owner's manual is just wrong. The same one pedal drive verbiage appears in both the Chevy Bolt and Cadillac Lyriq owner's manuals.
