Electrical System,Fuel/Propulsion System1 queja

I am filing this complaint regarding NHTSA Recall 26V103 (Manufacturer Recall R10362) for my 2025 Volvo EX30, VIN [XXX] . The recall was issued February 18, 2026 for a fire, overheating, and smoke safety risk due to potential overheating of the High-Voltage battery cell. The remedy requires battery module inspection and replacement, however Volvo has acknowledged that no replacement parts are available and has provided no estimated timeline for repair. I have not received any repair. No parts have been installed. No remedy has been performed on my vehicle. Despite this, my dealer marked recall R10362 as Closed on or around April 30, 2026 without performing any repair. When I contacted Volvo Cars customer care directly, they confirmed verbally that the recall remains open for my vehicle and that parts are still unavailable. However Volvo stated they will only provide written confirmation to the dealership, not to me as the vehicle owner. As a result of the unrepaired recall, I have been instructed to limit charging to a maximum of 70% state of charge to reduce fire risk. This has been in effect since February 2026. My vehicle has lost significant market value as a direct result. I am requesting NHTSA investigate the improper closure of this recall on my VIN without remedy being performed, and take appropriate action against the manufacturer and dealer. Steering,Vehicle Speed Control,Forward Collision Avoidance1 queja

Three separate safety incidents occurred within the last 3 months. INCIDENT 1: On at least two occasions while turning, the steering felt aggressive and notchy, resisting or jerking unexpectedly during the turn. INCIDENT 2: While driving on the Florida Turnpike at approximately 80 mph southbound around 7:00 AM, the vehicle suddenly reacted as if detecting an obstacle and applied what felt like emergency braking. No vehicle or obstacle was present in my lane or adjacent lanes. INCIDENT 3 (most serious): While parked in a parking lot, I applied the brake, shifted to Drive, and upon releasing the brake the vehicle accelerated abruptly with no input on the accelerator pedal. A witness confirmed no accelerator was pressed. Vehicle is currently at authorized Volvo dealership for diagnosis. Root cause not yet identified.

This car is subject to NHTSA Recall Number 26V103, manufacturer's recall number R10362. I learned about the recall on February 23 via a Reuters article, but received nothing from Volvo. In follow-up with Volvo I was told on February 25 via email that there was no recall on my car. After some digging, I found through the NHTSA site that the recall did apply to my car. When Volvo corporate finally got their story right with prodding from my local dealer, I instructed to reduce charging to 70% and not to charge in or near my home or other flammable material, like trees. I have received a notice of recall a few weeks later from Volvo. After multiple escalations, and nearly 4 months without any timeframe for repair of my car, I have initiated a lemon law claim with Volvo. My complaint is that Volvo (1) sold me a car last July that is now limited to 70% of the range I expected, and presents a serious safety risk to my home and my family, (2) failed to communicate with me or my dealer about this serious risk for weeks, and (3) they have not repaired my car in a timely manner.

Electrical System1 queja

A battery recall was placed on the vehicle on February 18, 2026. However, the battery fire risk existed before this date. According to Volvo's instructions, I can only charge to 70 percent. We are also instructed to only charge when the vehicle can be monitored. Because of my business and need to have a vehicle ready to go at all times, I have to charge overnight. It is my only vehicle. I take care of elderly parents, live in rural Indiana, and need to have the vehicle ready in case of emergencies and at a moment's notice when clients request home showings. Volvo Customer Support has ceased to communicate with me, and there is no fix in sight. I'm leasing and not able to use the vehicle as promised by Volvo. I did reach out to customer support at NHTSA and was left feeling as though the rep was irritated at my call and he was very rude to me.

Forward Collision Avoidance,Lane Departure1 queja

I've owned the EX30 for approximately 3 months. During that time, there have been approx. 5 incidents where after backing the car from a parking spot and switching to drive mode, the entire navigation screen goes blank and the screen displays the car as being in reverse mode. After being advised by Red Bank Volvo, NJ that this likely would be rectified during a major software update, I installed 2 major updates without a resolution to this problem - shortly after the 2nd update, I experienced the issue again. On 11/7/25 I brought the car to service and was told there were no error codes and software was up-to-date so they could do nothing. I called Volvo Customer Service to report the issue, and they advised bringing the car back to service, where a remote diagnostic assessment could be performed with corporate service. I was not advised by Red Bank Volvo that this was an option.

On February 26, 2025 at about 3 - 3:30 p.m. I was turning into a parking space in a parking lot. I stopped my car just outside of the parking space and was turning left into the space. I lightly pressed the accelerator, as I have done hundreds of thousands of times since I started driving 57 years ago. The car accelerated, leaping forward and revving so fast that the car drove over a concrete divide (about 5 inches above the ground and 2 feet wide), flattened a sign, and landed on two cars that were parked on the other side of the divide. It was daylight and sunny. There were no obstructions.
