Gulf States Toyota, Inc. (GST) is recalling certain Toyota 2023 GR Supra, 2024 4 Runner, Corolla, Grand Highlander, Grand Highlander Hybrid, Land Cruiser Hybrid, Tacoma, Tacoma Hybrid, 2023-2024 BZ4X, Corolla Cross Hybrid, GR Corolla, GR86, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Prius Prime, Sequoia Hybrid, Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, Venza Hybrid, 2023-2025 Crown, and 2025 Camry Hybrid vehicles equipped with GST accessories. The load carrying capacity modification label may display inaccurate added weight values. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Consecuencia reportada: A vehicle with an incorrect maximum capacity weight value may be overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedio: GST will mail new labels to owners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 16, 2024. Owners may contact GST customer service at 1-800-444-1074. GST's number for this recall is 24R2.
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Toyota Supra, 2022-2023 2 Series Coupe, 2021-2024 5 Series (xDrive), 2021-2022 Z4, 2022-2024 4 Series (Gran Coupe), 2021-2024 4 Series (Convertible and xDrive Convertible), 2021-2023 4 Series (Coupe), 2021-2024 3 Series, 2021-2023 X4, 2021-2024 X3 vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of all models. The engine starter may overheat and catch fire due to wear on an internal component.
Consecuencia reportada: Fire increases the risk of injury.
Remedio: Dealers will replace the engine starter, free of charge. A letter informing owners of the safety risk was mailed on March 27, 2026. Owners will receive another letter once the remedy is available. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 or Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning March 24, 2026.
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2023 Toyota GR Supra, 3 Series Sedan (330i xDrive, M340i xDrive, M3), 5 Series Sedan (530i, 530i xDrive, M5), 4 Series Gran Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive), 4 Series Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive, M440i xDrive), 4 Series Convertible (430i, 430i xDrive, M440i xDrive), 8 Series Coupe (840i, M850i xDrive, M8), 8 Series Convertible (840i, M850i xDrive, M8), 8 Series Gran Coupe (850i xDrive, M8), X3 SAV (X3 xDrive30i, X3M), X4 SAV (X4 xDrive30i), X5 SAV (X5 xDrive40i, X5 M50i, X5M), X6 SAV (X6 xDrive40i, X6 M50i, X6M), and Z4 sDrive30i, Z4 M40i vehicles. The weld seam of the integrated transmission control unit's cover may not have been manufactured properly, which could allow automatic transmission oil to leak into the transmission control unit.
Consecuencia reportada: Transmission oil that leaks into the control unit can lead to a seizure of the transmission gears, causing a sudden loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedio: Dealers will replace the transmission mechatronics module and the automatic transmission fluid, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 26, 2024. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

Electronic parking brake will intermittently release unintentionally. Replication scenario is to set the parking brake, depress clutch pedal, put transmission in neutral, then release the clutch pedal. This can happen right after starting the car, or after the car has been in operation. Note that this is the manual transmission version of the car. Other owners have reported similar problems.

This vehicle (in particular the new manual transmission equipped one) has a system which automatically disengages the electronic parking brake when you try to drive away with it applied, and that system does not have enough interlocks or "rules" that govern when it activates. In certain circumstances, the car will automatically disengage the parking brake with as little user input as simply letting the clutch pedal out - even if you've just come to a stop and applied the parking brake immediately before letting the clutch pedal out. Given that the only safe way to exit the vehicle with the engine running is with the parking brake applied and the car in neutral, this over-active system easily results in a rollaway vehicle hazard. This happened to me twice and I didn't understand at the time what was going on, but I have mostly isolated the conditions under which it has happened. The system seems to be looking for recent brake and throttle inputs, and if those inputs have been triggered recently then letting the clutch pedal out will automatically disengage the parking brake. However, "recently" seems to be very liberal, as you can touch the brake and throttle and then wait at least ten seconds (and potentially longer) then let out on the clutch, and the system will automatically disengage the parking brake. Additionally, the system does not seem to care if the car is in neutral or in gear. The car is aware of what gear it's in at all times, as this information is displayed in the instrument cluster with R, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 indicating which gear you've selected, or N for neutral. Obviously if you're in neutral, you're not attempting to drive away, so the system should never activate when the car is in neutral. When I start the car and put the transmission in neutral, the parking brake releases on its own. Depending where I am parked, the car will slowly roll. I usually just re engage the parking brake especially if i don't plan to drive at that very moment. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Parking brake How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle can roll back or forward and can put others at risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Parking brake is releasing on its own. I would press the clutch in when starting the car and as soon as i release or press down again it will release. Car is also in neutral when I am doing this so it has nothing to with it being in gear and releasing. The parking brake should on release when I pull the button or if i am in gear and want to pull off.

Going west bound on I30 in Arkansas traveling with the flow of traffic. There was a transition part of the highway where it went from some asphalt repair to concrete roadway and when my car hit this the wheel seperated in a 360 degree pattern and the only thing holding the wheel together was the tire. I believe the 19" wheel that Toyota used on this 2023 Supra has a factory defect and is very dangerous and needs to be looked into ASAP. There was no damage to the car at all.
