When coming to a stop the truck has a very spongey pedal, in order to stop the vehicle you must allow for the stop by applying brake way in advance to be able to stop. When you applying pressure to the brake pedal the pedal is soft and goes almost to the carpet floor. When towing you feel extremely concerned if you can stop especially in an emergency braking situation. This is a problem that is ongoing and is happening every time you brake. The truck has 27k miles

NHTSA #11733741

i WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 50MPH ON A HIGHWAY AS I WAS APPROACHING VEHICLES STOPPED FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT I APPLIED MY BRAKES NORMALLY AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN SO I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD AND THE CAR JUST CONTINUED FORWARD TILL FINALLY I PLOWED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAD NO BRAKES, THE ABS NEVER KICKED ON OR THE VSC.

NHTSA #11723316

Spongy brakes, constant pumping of brakes to aid in stoping but check this out! In 4x4 mode Low 4x4 brake failure is almost 90%! I must mash the brakes as the brake peddle falls to the floor, then wait, brace and pray truck comes to come to a stop!!!!

Vehicle was purchased new with 29 miles on the odometer in December 2025. The brakes on the truck do not begin to engage until the brake pedal is depressed greater than 50% of its travel. The initial feedback of the brake pedal within the first 50% of travel is numb with virtually no resistance. While driving the truck from the purchasing dealer in Warrenton, VA to Chicago, IL, I encountered several instanced during medium to heavy traffic where I expected the truck to stop, but the significant vagueness in the pedal turned a routine slow down situation into an emergency/panic stop. After putting ~600 miles on the truck, it has not gotten better and the truck is currently at a local dealership in the Chicagoland area. There are no warning lights on and, as of now, the dealership has had the truck for almost 2 2 weeks with no resolution currently available from the service department, nor the manufacturer.

Brakes always collapse to the Floor. You cannot stick your toe in between the brake and the floorboard. But if you pump up the brakes like you used in the 1970''s the brake will rise and you can put a full foot underneath between the brake and the floorboard. Those making the brakes stop the truck 80%better. But if you put it in 4x4 mode there is almost no stopping power at all. You only have 10% of your brakes. Both issues can cause death and or injuries! If 4x4 is used on the road for rain or snow it will cause death and if your lucky just a major injury!!!!!!

NHTSA #11743011

The brake pedal on my truck is very spongy. It goes halfway to the floor if it isn't pumped at least 2 times before braking. I find it very distressing in tight situations where I do not have time to pump before braking. I took it to the dealership and they say there is nothing wrong. This is a brand new truck.

NHTSA #11670091

Brake pedal had 6"-8" of travel before pedal started to stop the vehicle. The brakes were bled 3 times and the truck still doesn't stop properly. I'm told it stops better than any other new truck on the lot. BIG SAFTEY ISSUE!!! I'm told it is what it is and drive it, I refuse to drive an unsafe vehicle with myself or my family in the vehicle! The brakes have felt funny for a while, the truck has less than 6000 miles on it and has been back 3 times for the same issue.

NHTSA #11662188

When the brakes are applied during normal driving the pedal travels 2-3 inches before the brakes start to apply. During a panic stop and a strong force on the pedal it will travel almost to the floor. ABS never applies except on loose surfaces, i. e., snow, gravel and sand. I have had the vehicle to the dealer on three different occasion's for this problem. The dealer and the service technicians said it was normal, as they all do this. they bleed the brakes and it was marginally better for about 200 miles of driving, then back to the same low feel. One of those occasions there was an ABS fault and they had to reset the ABS system. After they did the reset the brakes felt a little better for a short time then back marginal again. If you tap the pedal twice in rapid succession the pedal feel is normal, as compared to other vehicles, and at the top of the pedal travel. Although with sustained foot pressure on the pedal you can push it to the floor. Again the dealer says it's normal. I tow regularly with this vehicle and because of the brake feel I travel slower and allow a much greater distance than normal.

The contact owned a 2024 RAM 2500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at 40 MPH, he attempted to slowly bring the vehicle to a complete stop upon approaching a stop sign. However, with the brake pedal depressed all the way to the floorboard, the vehicle failed to stop or even slow as intended, causing the driver to unsafely pass through the intersection without stopping. Afterward, the driver smelled smoke in the vehicle's interior shortly before observing flames from the front driver-side door exterior panel. The driver could maneuver the vehicle into a roadside ditch, resulting in reduced speeds of around 15 MPH, allowing him and the other occupants to evacuate. The unoccupied vehicle then rolled to a complete stop in a roadside ditch moments later, becoming completely engulfed in flames. Local emergency services arrived and were able to extinguish the flames but could not inform the contact of where the fire may have originated as the flames had reduced the vehicle down to its chassis. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard but had yet to be deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A fire report was filed. A police was not filed, and no injuries were reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 10,000.

Intermittent warning messages (check trailer brake wiring and trailer brakes disconnected). When trailer brakes disconnected message comes up you have a TOTAL LOSS of the electronic trailer brakes. Travel trailer is a 2024 Forest River Wildwood Heritage Glen 308RL (with solar on-board). This issue is very similar to the one plaguing the 2024 Chevrolet / GMC 2500 Pickup trucks. Trailer is in the shop being checked now and my RAM dealer states no problems have been reported. Trailer has the new style (blade) 7 pin cable. Problem has happened on multiple trips and is extremely intermittent. When this happens going down a steep grade it is a definite safety issue!

At approximately 1750 miles the truck transmission began to shift in lower gears extremely violently. Every time that truck would shift in this manner, it would cause a startle effect and divert my attention away from driving to trying to determine what was going on. I immediately took the truck to my local Ram repair shop where they found metal shavings in the transmission oil pan. They told me I would need a completely new transmission. This is unacceptable with a truck with only 1750 miles on it. The dealership said they would need authorization to replace the transmission and not sure if one would be readily available. This is the fourth time this vehicle will have been at this repair facility. The first three times were for a fault code called Turbo under boost. Way too much downtime for a truck with only 1750 miles. We had to postpone our vacation since this is the only vehicle I own that’s capable of towing our boat and trailer. Because of all these issues, we have not been able to tow the trailer one time with our new truck!!!!!! When I asked the dealership what they thought the problem was they said quality control at the factory and a subpar designed for the product. If Ram doesn’t change the design of this transmission, even with a new transmission installed, I am scared this may happen again and then cause an accident.

NHTSA #11724094

Dealer confimed roller lifter failure on 9/23/25, they replaced the roller lifters, push rods, cam shaft and rocker arms. Within 20 miles of picking up the truckl on 10/11/2025 the same noise the repair was suposed to remedy was back adn the same volume/ intensity as before. The warranty repair did not remedy the issue.

Seat Belts4 quejas

The seatbelt retraction system on my truck has been replaced twice on the drivers side and once on the passenger side. The truck only has 40,000miles. The seatbelt retractors don't keep the shoulder strap tight when you move or get the belt first buckled. This can cause an issue if you are to get in an accident when the belt is not tight against your shoulder.

NHTSA #11721807

Twice, the seatbelt recoil mechanism has failed. Not only will the seatbelt not self retract, potentially leaving a considerable amount of slack in the seatbelt, but also the seatbelt does not stop when it is pulled quickly, meaning that it doesn't actually do anything in the case of an accident. The original seatbelt on this vehicle did the same thing, and after I had it replaced, the replacement does the same thing, indicating that it is clearly a faulty component at a scale larger than an individual faulty piece.

NHTSA #11687381

The contact owns a 2024 RAM 2500. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle and buckling the driver's side seat belt, the seat belt failed to retract as needed and was lying limp across the torso. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the seat belt retractor had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The drivers side front seat belt stopped retracting. It was fixed when the warranty was good. I also reported the passenger side, later wasn't retracting. It retracted fine when the dealer had it so they didn't do anything with it. Now the warranty is up and it's hardly ever retracting but they want me to pay for it even thought I reported it when the warranty was good. Also, the driver's side seat belt doesn't always latch. You have to shove it in several times sometimes before it clicks. Sometimes you think it's in and it will unhook later while you're driving down the road.

LT285/60R20 with 12,700 miles. I had just left the parking lot at the Cumberland YMCA and was merging into traffic on [XXX] westbound in Cumberland Md., accelerating to the speed limit (55MPH) when I began hearing a noise. I then saw a red warning light on the dashboard indicating 0 tire pressure on the left rear tire. Looking in the outside rear view mirror I could see the tire was flat and the truck was basically riding on the rim (thus the noise). To my knowledge I did not hit any debris or potholes. I had children in the back seat. Fortunately at the low speed no one was in danger. I need to replace the tire (actually I will replace all 4 as I have no trust in Firestone) so I don't know about the availability for inspection but I will take photos. The local police were called to help ensure personal safety while the spare tire was mounted. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2024 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the tire pressure warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact attempted to check the tire pressures using the feature in the vehicle; however, the system displayed the message "Tire Pressure not Available". The vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the dealer could not assist with the repair of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and initially agreed to buy the vehicle back; however, the manufacturer later decided not to complete the buy back. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 4,100.

NHTSA #11668123

The contact owns a 2024 Ram 2500 equipped with Firestone Tires, Tire Line: Firestone TransForce HT, Tire Size: LT275/70/R18, and DOT Number: VN15TH73023. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70-75 MPH and passing another vehicle in the fast lane, the rear driver's side tire experienced a blowout. The contact activated the hazard lights and was able to pull to the shoulder of the right side of the road while the rear of the vehicle was fishtailing. The contact stated that upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the tire blowout had caused damage to the undercarriage. Additionally, the tire tread had detached, hit and caused damage the rear driver's side of the vehicle and to fuel tank filler neck. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided assistance in towing the vehicle to an unknown Dodge dealer, who informed the contact that they could not performed the needed repairs, and the contact was advised to contact the insurance company for assistance. The insurance insurance company was contacted and arranged for the vehicle to be towed to Caliber Collision for repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The tire was an original tire. The tire was not replaced. The tire manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The Tire failure mileage was approximately 24,681. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 24,681.

On 4/28/25 our 2024 Dodge Ram 2500 truck caught fire, It had 25,880 miles on it. we bought it brand new in 9/24. Flames were coming from the engine. The fire had to be extinguished with a fire extinguisher. The truck was towed to the local Dodge dealership. Miracle Chrysler After they looked at the truck we were told that fired was caused by a faulty heater grid. The truck has been sitting at the Dodge dealership since 4/28/25 to current. Originally we were told Stellantis would buy it back then they changed their minds and said no we will repair it. As of today they still have not started the repairs. I have invoice dated 1/8/26 that sates it will cost $55,277.23 just in parts to repair the damage that does not include the labor fees and they are not sure that is all the parts they will actually need. We have been making the payment on this truck the entire time is has been sitting there $1369.87 plus renting another truck for $641 a week from Enterprise. They are going to spend more money to repair the truck than the payoff. Current pay is $62,235.41. Makes no sense. Then this week I saw on the news that RAM just issued a recall for the same truck but years 2019-2023 with 6 fires recorded for same issue faulty heater grid. I think my truck is one of the first of 2024 to catch fire from the same issue.

The contact stated that the message "SOS -Unavailable - Please Contact Dealer for Service" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on several occasions for approximately a year, where it was diagnosed that the power steering gearbox and the radio needed to be repaired. Additionally, the wiring was taken apart and cleaned, and reattached after finding a wiring issue. The vehicle was repaired each time, but the failure reoccurred after each repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 45.

Had to stop urgently, and my truck shut off. I had to shift it into park to get it started again. Was in the middle of a 4 lane section of route one traveling with traffic at the time. I was a sitting duck until I could figure out what happened. (I’m a mechanic, if the average person was dealing with this I don’t know if they would have been able to get moving as quickly.) It acted like the torque converter stayed locked while I came to a complete stop stopping the engine at the same time. No shuddering or anything obvious. Engine wasn’t running when I came to a stop. i only noticed because it was abnormally quiet and didn’t move when I stepped on the throttle. While driving, the truck began to violently shake when downshifting. As I was exiting the highway and braking, the shaking intensified, and the truck stalled while I was traveling around 30 MPH, causing a complete power loss. To avoid a collision, I veered off the ramp and ended up scraping a road sign, which caused damage to the bed above the right fender, the road sign was intact and there was no damage to the sign. When I attempted to restart the truck and placed it in drive, it accelerated on its own. Applying the brakes only made it accelerate further, causing the truck to lunge forward uncontrollably. I managed to slow it down by putting it in neutral, regaining full brake control. I was able to get the truck to my driveway, but as soon as I turned into the driveway, it stalled again. I had to repeat this process to make it home as I didn't have cell service and was unable to call for a tow. This issue is extremely concerning, a complete power loss while driving, especially one that forces you off the road to avoid an accident, poses a grave safety hazard. My life and safety were jeopardized due to this malfunction.

The vehicle experienced repeated electrical and no-start issues believed to be related to the RF/electrical communication system. The truck has been returned to the dealership repeatedly for this issue and recently spent approximately two months at the dealership for diagnosis and repair. After finally being returned, the vehicle was completely dead the very next morning and would not start. The vehicle has also experienced dangerous electrical failures while being driven. During one incident at night, the headlights and interior electrical system became extremely dim and began flickering while an employee was operating the truck. Visibility was significantly reduced to the point the driver could barely see the roadway. During the same event, the brake pedal became abnormally hard to press intermittently, creating a serious safety concern while driving. The failure also occurred on our business lot where the truck was blocking multiple trailers needed for scheduled customer deliveries, creating operational disruption and safety concerns related to moving equipment and trailers around an inoperable heavy-duty truck. The dealership reportedly replaced or repaired an RF-related component/module during the repair process. However, the problem appears unresolved because the truck failed again immediately after being returned from service. Symptoms have included: * Complete battery drain/no-start condition * Flickering and dimming headlights/electrical systems * Intermittent hard brake pedal condition * Repeated electrical-related issues * Extended dealer downtime * Ongoing unresolved repair attempts The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This truck is used daily for commercial/business operations. Reliability concerns are significant because unexpected electrical failure or no-start conditions can leave the vehicle stranded or create hazardous driving conditions. The issue has been reproduced after dealer repair attempts. Based on the symptoms and

The contact was unable to haul a trailer because the braking system was not operating properly. The contact stated that the ABS unintendedly engaged when not needed, but failed to function properly when needed. An independent mechanic bled the brake lines. The local dealer was contacted, but stated that the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was taken on two occasions to Don Franklin Somerset Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Service Center (1147 S. Hwy 27, Somerset, KY 42501), where the mechanic was able to duplicate the failure, but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. The VIN was not available.

Description of the Issue: When full windshield defrost is selected—using either the infotainment system or physical HVAC controls—the system does not direct full airflow to the windshield. Instead, heated air is split between the windshield and floor vents, reducing airflow and heat at the windshield edges. As a result, ice forms and remains on the driver’s side windshield edge, beginning around the 11–12 o’clock steering wheel position and extending to the windshield edge. This occurs during cold conditions and restricts driver visibility, creating a safety hazard while driving. Safety Impact: The driver is unable to clear ice from the windshield edges, limiting visibility of adjacent lanes, pedestrians, and roadway conditions. When defrost is needed most, the system does not perform as required, preventing the driver from maintaining safe visibility. Inconsistent Operation: The HVAC/defrost system operates inconsistently under similar conditions. I have video evidence showing the system working correctly at times and failing at other times. In multiple cases, the only change was shutting the vehicle off and letting it sit. In one instance, the defrost later worked correctly the same day when ambient temperatures were warmer, suggesting a possible temperature-related or control issue. Videos documenting this behavior are available, including videos posted on YouTube. Additional HVAC Control Issue: The HVAC system will randomly set the temperature to 76°F and become unresponsive for approximately one minute. During this time, the driver cannot change any HVAC settings, creating distraction and preventing timely adjustment to address fogging or icing. This behavior is also documented on video. Repair Attempts: The vehicle has been taken to two RAM dealerships, and multiple parts have been replaced under warranty. The issue remains unresolved. A customer service case was also opened with RAM, but the HVAC and defrost issues have not been corrected.

Service Brakes,Forward Collision Avoidance1 queja

October 30, at approximately 8:00 AM MDT. While I was heading to work, I was approaching an intersection with a vehicle in front of me making a left turn in the opposite direction was a vehicle also preparing to make a left turn and as I approached the intersection the vehicle turned in front of me. I fully applied the brakes, and the pedal went to the floor, my truck did not stop or slow down. I ended up striking the vehicle turning in front of me, fortunately at a low speed of approximately 11-12 miles per hour. My vehicle coasted to a stop after which I was able to carefully pull off to the side of the road. My truck was deemed drivable at the time after the accident but I noticed that the pedal is spongy and it took pumping the brakes to get them to apply. I almost had another accident around 10:30 AM, when coming to a stop behind several other vehicles. Again I applied the brakes and they went to the floor. The truck very slowly came to a stop, finally stopping 5 feet from the rear of the car in front of me. This was extremely nerve racking because I thought I was about to have another accident. After talking with my insurance company, they deemed the truck unsafe to drive and had it towed to the repair shop. Additionally, back during a trip to California from September 28 to October 15. We were towing our 2024 East to West Alta Travel Trailer. During the trip I noticed very sporadically the trailer brakes would apply to much or more often appear to not apply the trailer brakes at all. Multiple time I had to use the manual brake booter switch in order to stop the truck. I believe that this issue with the brakes was actually beginning during that trip. I also have done some research and there appears to be several other complaints with the same model year 2024 Ram 2500. When I get my truck back from being repaired I am scarred of it not braking and getting involved in another accident. Something needs to be done before any serious injury or death occurs.

[XXX] I stopped at a stoplight and was sitting with my foot on the brake. With light still red, vehicle went full throttle and began pushing me into the intersection even though my foot had never left the brake. I shifted to neutral and still redlined. Shifted to park and shut off. Restarted and it went back to normal. Luckily it was early morning and I was in a rural community and light traffic. Went home and called Ram dealership and took truck in that day. They kept it several days. Said was showing a code error; but I reiterated it pushed me into the intersection while I continued to pushed the brake to the floor. They did find an inconsistent reading in throttle and replaced the throttle body. I had hoped that corrected the problem and had no issue until [XXX]. [XXX] Left my farm in morning heading for Kansas City for supplies. Pulled onto shoulder of entrance ramp to doublecheck my route before entering the busy highway and rush hour traffic. As I was sitting there with my foot on the brake - same problem. Throttle redlined and (with my foot on the brake) truck began pushing me off the shoulder and down an embankment. Luckily I was an experienced driver and immediately switched it into park and shut it off. Waited a minute then restarted & no issue. Immediately called dealership back and took it in. They tested for a couple days but said it wasn’t showing ‘a code’ so there was really nothing they could do. I said this is huge safety risk to all & both incidents c hold have easily been lethal. They said they sent inquiry to ram but heard nothing. Said I needed to reach out to ram; which I did. I’ve heard nothing other than they assigned a case number & said ‘someone will call’. Every time I use the truck is a huge risk. It’s happened twice in less than 90 days - it will happen again. I need your help, please. Vehicle Speed Control,Forward Collision Avoidance1 queja

I have had more than one failure, but this is the worst. The problem occurs, I believe, when RAM does an update to their uconnect system, something they do often and without warning. Strange and unexpected things happen when they do. In this instance, I had just started on a trip and was on the highway going about 65 mph. I had the cruise control on that brakes automatically when a something is in the way or you approach a slower car. Suddenly, the cruise control shut off and warning lights came on that the front collision system had failed, the anti-lock brakes had failed and more. Also the check engine light came on. I am not sure what all but it lit up the dash. I thought something terrible was happening and pulled over. Everything started working again after about a minute. None of these warnings were real. I checked somewhere, don't recall, and found it was at the same time an update occurred. There are false warnings and issues nearly every time an update happens while I'm driving. I only drive my vehicle about once a week, so something happens nearly every time I drive. This seems to me to be a serious safety issue. Were my anti-lock brakes really unavailable? People might panic or might just start ignoring real warnings. I have read in forums of other people complaining about this as well.

While driving my Ram 2500 completely shut off just like I had hit the engine stop button. Luckily, I was traveling at a low speed at the time, so I was able to coast to a complete stop, put the truck in park on the side of the road. I was then able to restart the vehicle and resume driving without any more issues.

Lifters are failing with 31,000 miles. There are thousands of these trucks with less than 30,000 miles on there second or third set of lifters. I took the truck to Allen Samuels Dodge in Aransas pass Texas for a loud rattling kept the truck several days couldn’t figure it out. I recorded a video of the banging inside the engine they kept the truck 5 days or so gave me a letter saying it’s under investigation and I should call Ram about the lifters. Called Ram they said call the dealer or take it to another dealer. Service guy was like yeah the lifters are failing left n right and locking up the engine. The grid heater bolt is burning off and falling into the number 6 piston on these trucks locking up the engine. I have numerous screen shots from several Ram 2500 groups where people are getting new engines just for it to fail in 3000 miles. I’ve got a 70k truck I’m afraid to drive worried it’s going to rattle apart and lock up the engine while driving down the highway. I can screen shot way more complaints. There’s even someone who started a data base in online forums to record complaints. The transmissions are failing in these 2018-2024 Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins and the gas version to. It’s ridiculous

Electrical System,Visibility/Wiper,Lane Departure1 queja

I purchased a new 2024 Ram 2500 Laramie in January 2024. In February 2025, the vehicle began experiencing intermittent no-start conditions related to an electrical issue. Over several months, it also developed persistent Uconnect system malfunctions and power-folding side mirrors that would not unfold, creating a serious safety hazard. On July 2, 2025, while driving at highway speed, the driver’s side mirror folded inward on its own and remained loose, flopping in the wind, making it impossible to maintain visibility and lane awareness. Ram’s service department confirmed the part is defective but did not have it in stock when I brought the vehicle in. These issues have made the truck unsafe to drive. Despite multiple repair attempts and the vehicle being out of service for over 30 days cumulatively, the electrical and visibility-related problems remain unresolved. The manufacturer (Stellantis/Ram) has been slow to respond and has not provided a timely solution. I am pursuing Lemon Law arbitration, but the unresolved mirror visibility issue and electrical malfunctions pose an immediate safety concern that may affect other owners.

Suspension,Electrical System,Air Bags1 queja

Hit a bump at approx. 55mph going into a curve while pulling a loaded car trailer. The unstable 4-link rear suspension combined with the air bag suspension system created/allowed/exacerbated trailer sway that caused the trailer to ultimately jack knife into a fence off the highway. This endangered myself and two oncoming cars in the curve. Driver skill and shear dumb luck prevented death to any/all on the road. Poor/unstable rear suspension engineering caused the accident. The air bags did not deploy and I do not recall the seatbelt locking up. Stellantis subcontracted Bosch Automotive Service Solutions (CASE # 91832257) to examine the truck. The inspector could find nothing out of "spec" or alignment, but was able to reproduce and experience like symptoms (and was visibly unsettled) during his test drive. Stellantis, not two days after receiving the Bosch report, denied all responsibility
