I was charging at a Tesla Supercharge using the OEM Porsche converter and my car experienced a catastrophic electrical fault. The charge completed but the charger was hard to pull out and then my car had battery fault errors and said it needed immediate service. I took it to the dealer and they pulled these error codes and said severage battery componets had failed including a failed high-voltage battery controller, which is mounted on top of the HV battery and the high-voltage booster (which distributes DC voltage). Porsche is not claiming responsibility and presented me a $17k bill to replace. I'm concerned the temp sensors went off and that this could have led to a fire so I wanted to flag to your office. Here are the fault codes provided from Porsche: B192BF0 - High-voltage DC charger (booster) in wrong mode P33E500 - Quick battery charging (DC), Charge stn., initialization error U15AB00 - Quick battery charging (DC), Communication error between vehicle and charging station U15AE00 - Quick battery charging (DC), Charging station communication failure U15B300 - Fast battery charge (DC) – cable testing error P33F000 - High-voltage system activation, Malfunction B1A88F0 - Actuator for right charge port door – travel error U15AC00 - Signal damping log, Malfunction B200000 - Control unit – function restriction U140900 - Internal temperature measurement, Implausible signal

The contact owns a 2020 Porsche Taycan. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V732000 (Electrical System) after owning the vehicle for a week. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who then stated that because the vehicle had an aftermarket charger inside, the repair could not be performed unless a charger was purchased from the dealer. The dealer confirmed that the aftermarket charger would not perform as needed, and the recall repair would not be successful. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The car once I started, it gave us a red warning that said electrical system problem. At that point, I was unable to put the car in drive or put the car in reverse. The only thing I was able to do is put the car in neutral. The car would not move. The same issue happened when I was driving with the car. It gave me the error message at which point I had to pull over on the shoulder.

NHTSA #11622267

I discharged the battery to 7% then recharged to 100% using my home charger. When I got into the car, I had an error message stating: 'electrical system error park vehicle in a safe place'. The message disappeared later that day and I was able to drive the car to the dealer.

NHTSA #11586725

I was notified of APB6 recall and received a mailing suggesting I don't use the charger and that I should buy an aftermarket charger and would be reimbursed. It has been over 3 months and I have contacted Porsche multiple times and they have created trouble tickets that have just expired. I have yet to be reimbursed. Car displayed the following message: Electrical system error Park vehicle in a safe place

NHTSA #11497123

It appears that the vehicle 12volt system battery has failed and I am unable to move the vehicle . I have tried to charge the 12volt battery but the car remains undrivable. I had the car towed to the dealership and they have said that the car needs a new 12Volt battery but it is on backorder and that they continue to work with the factory to resolve the issue.

NHTSA #11472345

I got an “Electrical System Error. Park vehicle in a safe place” while I was on the freeway. I had to exit the freeway and shut down the vehicle and the error went away. I am hesitant to drive the vehicle, I am in the process of having the vehicle flat bedded to my dealer.

NHTSA #11462128

Suddenly my vehicle showed "electrical system error", then it can't move, no matter forward or reverse, luckily it was parked in my garage, I can't image if it was on highway when your vehicle suddenly lost power. I don't remember how many times my Taycan was recalled in past 1 year, but it looks Porsche still haven't figure it out, maybe it's still a prototype.

NHTSA #11461091

My Taycan 4S has now on two occasions, while I’m driving, on the freeway, during the daytime, had all the instrument cluster displays go blank for 20-30 sec then reboot… Very disconcerting at best... dealer tells me this is NORMAL!, hard to believe its normal.... for me it's a safety issue.

NHTSA #11457865

car failed on the street noting "electrical system error". it was not able to shift into drive or reverse and immovable rendering it inoperable and left me stranded on the street. I had the car towed to the dealer the next day.

NHTSA #11456466

While driving the car suddenly lost power and displayed "electrical malfunction" please park in safe place. I was powerless and stranded in the middle of a 3 lane road. Car was towed to Porsche and they have had the car for 2 days- with no solution in site.

NHTSA #11435775

Conditions were clear and dry, with an ambient temperature of approximately 86 degrees F. Time of day was approximately 11:41am, Pacific. I was entering the 73 South onramp from Newport Coast Dr. (Newport Beach, CA 92657), somewhere between 60-70mph in Sport Plus mode, under heavy acceleration (but not full throttle). With no other symptoms or indications, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and presented the error message “Electrical System Error Park Vehicle in Safe Place.” At that point, the throttle became completely unresponsive and the AC compressor shut off, though other vehicle systems appeared to work normally. I was able to pull over to the shoulder safely, however sudden and complete loss of motive power is very clearly a safety risk when on a highway. In this case, as in the first time this happened, I shut the vehicle off and attempted to restart several times immediately following the initial error message, but the vehicle would not restart. I let the vehicle sit for approximately 10-15 minutes with the power off. At that point, the vehicle was able to be restarted and driven. This is the 3rd time I’ve received such an error and the 3rd time I’ve had the vehicle brought in for service for the same issue since August 2nd. Porsche Cars North America is apparently aware of the issue and has updated my vehicle software and replaced a voltage converter approximately one month ago. Unfortunately, the vehicle seems to still be exhibiting the problem.

NHTSA #11433960

Engine light came on while driving "Engine Control Error" Park Vehicle in a safe place. As I was attempting to pull into a safe place the car died on the road resulting in a near accident

NHTSA #11426921

1st error “parking brake bit available, vehicle coils roll away” - cleared after restart. It then occurred again after cad was parked together with “motor control error - driving possible, service required” but car could not be driven and had to be towed

NHTSA #11426902

Sudden power loss while driving. Pulled over to the side and the car shut down with the message "Engine Control Error"

NHTSA #11424618

My car suddenly popped up this error message "Engine Control Error". I could still steer and use the brakes, but the accelerator would not work. I had to coast to a stop, put in park, and restart. I called the dealer and they said this will be part of a recall but they had no fix yet. I'm not sure if this part of the battery power-loss recall or not.

NHTSA #11424613

Sudden and unexpected complete loss of power while vehicle was at highway speed. Could not accelerate. Red warning light appeared stating Engine Control Error. Car glided to a complete stop and I attempted to pull over to the shoulder of the highway. Brought the vehicle to the dealer and they stated there was a recent service bulletin to update software.

NHTSA #11424015

sudden electrical failure. Two times the car has had sudden unexpected power loss. In particular the forward motion of the stopped suddenly, fortunately i was at low speed <20 mph. Both times electrical error message was noted on the driver's center screen. I was able to turn the car off and then attempted several times to turn it back on, eventually the car started. In my opinion there are no precipitating factors. Also fortunately there were no other cars behind me, otherwise i am sure an accident would have happened.

NHTSA #11424296

My husband and I were driving our car last night and our car suddenly displayed an error code and shutdown. This has happenned a few weeks ago andbthe dealer could not find the issue. We took a picture of the error code, pulled over and restarted the car. This is very concerning because it doesnt give you more than a few secs after the error code that the car just dies. Again we were in a position to pull over on the freeway but if we had been in the middle lane this could have been a very different outcome. We have contacted the dealer to troubleshoot again.

NHTSA #11419721

Total electrical shutdown of the drivability of the car. The car in driving traffic came to a sudden stop and doors were lock and would not start until we tried 3 times. A truck behind us had to come to a quick sudden stop to avoid hitting us in the rear of the car! The car was taken to Porsche South bay for understanding the cause of the problem the manufacture was alerted ,Porsche customer care and a case filed. Porsche Service was suppose to report their findings to Customer Care in reference to case file number. They asked me to also bring in the Porsche charging unit to be re-flashed on software in the unit. I have had the car in multiple times for PCM related issues and software updates, during the most recent update they had to replace the entire PCM with a new one. The car was running fine then, then this issue happened. Porsche is continually having issues with this car all related to the PCM, it appear that the car is unsafe and my wife refuses to be in the car. I asked Porsche if they were aware of this problem and they said yes. I asked Porsche for them to look at this car as a Lemon law car, they call this a Buy Back Program. I am still waiting to be told what is next. Porsche is saying the car is safe and has had no accidents, but they know that this car could cause an accident when shutting down with no notice. How is that considered safe? No message appeared till after the car shutdown.

NHTSA #11420845

As I was driving on the freeway at approximately 50 mph, the car lost power and would not accelerate. A warning appeared on the dashboard reading: “ Engine control error — park vehicle in a safe place“. There was no roadway shoulder, but fortunately I was coasting downhill and was able to exit the freeway onto an exit ramp, where I parked the car on the shoulder. I called Porsche roadside assistance and waited over 45 minutes for a tow truck. It had still not arrived when I was able to restart the vehicle and resume driving. I took it to the dealer where I bought the car, and they said they would check it out. They did not indicate that any other Taycans had been returned to them with this issue, although I have read numerous news accounts describing this problem in recent weeks. Had this power failure occurred under different circumstances, I and other drivers would have been at risk of serious injury or death.

NHTSA #11418692

At approximately 3:40 PM on 5/24/2021 I was travelling W bound on the 10 freeway. The vehicle experienced full power loss. Fortunately I was in the L most lane and could pull to the side. Had I been in the center lanes I would've had serious safety issues. Vehicle is being towed to Beverly Hiss Posrche. I took a photo of the error message and can share it if needed. This was a particularly traumatic experience as the vehicle has been in the repair shop for 35+ days since purchase in November with electrical issues. It was returned on 5/17/2021 after a second control module was replaced.

NHTSA #11418405

Car displayed the following message: "Electrical System Error" and simultaneously lost all drive train power and mobility. Would not restart.

NHTSA #11418142

As per the recently announced investigation on 5/21/21 into the 12 volt battery issue that rendered the car unable to drive, I had the same issue arise today (5/22/21) where an electrical error made the car inoperable and unable to power on any systems. In order to get the car on flat bed tow truck, they had to charge back the 12 volt battery to get car into neutral.

NHTSA #11418153

I had just entered Interstate 15 about a mile from my home. I was in middle lane going approximately 65 mph, error message "engine computer failure, please pull over to safe place and call for service" appeared on screen and car lost all motive power. I was able to pull over to side of road, shut car off and then restart car. I was then able to drive home. Had car towed to dealer next day. They said they needed to update two software modules to latest version which "should" fix the problem.

NHTSA #11418593

April 27 I tried a launch control and a few seconds into it I got "All wheel drive error. " Engine performance limited." The car slowed and would only drive a maximum of 20mph. It cycled through several screens, one said "Visit workshop". I tried to attached movie and photo, no luck. I let car sit turned off for about 10 minutes, drove it again, no errors. Tried launch control again, no errors. I have a .mov that shows the errors (My son was in the passenger seat so I had him record the errors). I cannot attach an .mov here. I took it into dealer, they said Porsche didn't have a fix for this but they said not to worry about it. It is dangerous to have the car only go 20mph at some random time!

NHTSA #11421575

I WAS TRYING TO LEAVE A PARKING SPOT. I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE MODE & IT DIDN'T MOVE. THE VEHICLE SHOWED THE MESSAGE: 'MOTOR CONTROL ERROR ' MOVE VEHICLE TO A SAFE PLACE' AND WAS ENCIRCLED BY A RED LIGHT. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON SEVERAL TIMES THINKING VEHICLE WOULD RESET ITSELF. Made a turn into a street and driving at slow pace (about 20mph) and the vehicle suddenly shuddered and came to complete stop and died in the middle of the road. I had no time to pull over. While driving the vehicle, an error message (Engine Control Error) will pop up. The car will come to an immediate stop…forcing the driver to shut off car and restart it. This has happened multiple times and in one instance occurred on the highway. It almost caused a catastrophic accident as the car came to an abrupt stop in the middle lane of the highway. I’ve taken the car to the dealership multiple times and they have not been able to fix it. I’ve read many Taycan message board posts and it seems like this is a common issue amongst multiple years of Taycans. This is a serious safety issue and a recall should be issued with a remedy for this. Due to this, I cannot drive the car on the highway as I’m scared of it happening randomly. This is a known issue and one that should be recalled and handled appropriately by Porsche.

The car was suddenly stalled at road multiple times, showing red warning "Engine control error. Park vehicle in a safe place" . Porsche is unable to solve such major safety issue of its electric car for past two years.

NHTSA #11547254

While driving at approximately 40mph, a red message suddenly appeared in the dashboard saying “Engine Control Error- Park vehicle in a Safe Place”. Simultaneously, the car became unresponsive - for example, pressing the gas pedal had no effect. I was able to brake and drift to the side of the road, but the car kind of bumpily ground to halt, feeling almost as if I had a flat tire (which I did not). Once I shut off the car and restarted, it ran again but had that issue occurred at a high speed or on a busier roadway, a serious accident was possible. I just recently had the car serviced to do a major upgrade the software and have seen others posting in forums about this serious issue. I never had this issue prior to the software update and have driven the car over 5000 miles.

While driving in a particularly curved section of highway 1 the vehicle lost all power and control. I had to wrestle the vehicle to the side of the road and narrowly avoided a cliff face off into the ocean. My entire family was in the car and could have been killed. This was after Porsche was unable to fix safety systems like my active cruise control and lane keep assist which were bugging out and trying to take over control of the car. I towed it to Porsche who attempted to address the problem and claimed it was fixed with a patch. There is no way to validate the work. Porsche did not communicate during the issue and offered little in the way of resolution.

My car on two separate occasions lost power and took several seconds to recover while fighting it. It would suddenly state "Drive Attention Required" and seemed to hit the brakes hard and ignore my inputs. This occurred twice within a week roughly 3 weeks ago. This could have easily caused an accident as the car begins to slow quickly. The issue was not reproduced by the dealer and they claim it was related to a faulty software update (but they never reproduced or had any diagnostics on the issue so I'm not sure how they could claim that). It has not happened after the third reinstall of the software update but it also didn't happen except those two times when the software was apparently faulty so I still believe it could happen at any time. When the software was in a faulty state (which was common with the update and many had the same issues) the car's self driving tech was also semi functional and easy to have the car drive itself without knowing. The car would say "Driver's assistance inactive on the screen" but then drive itself at some unknown speed. I have a video of this. This is super dangerous.

Vehicle randomly thinks that I’m about to be in a collision when nothing is in front of me. This causes the vehicle to just stop and almost causes me to have an accident.

NHTSA #11601648

It was stop and go traffic. I was distracted and the car failed to auto stop and I hit the car in front of me. The alert did come on after the collision. I would assume the automatic braking failed or the collision would not have occurred. It was a low speed impact so not a major safety risk but even a minor collision can have a significant injury in susceptible subjects? The problem has not been reproduced to my knowledge. The component has not been inspected. The car has been evaluated by a body shop for damages and the damages are significant. The warning light came on in an inadequate time to prevent the collision. There were no other warning lamps

On three separate occasions over the past year, my car's emergency collision avoidance system was triggered, (an alarm sounded, a red symbol was on my dash, and the brakes locked), erroneously. No accident occurred, but in the second case below, it caused the car behind me to lock up their brakes and just avoid hitting me...thankfully they were very alert. The first two occasions happened two months apart, but at the same time of day and at the same location. On both occasions, I had driven down a street at approximately 7:30 in the morning. I slowed to make a left turn and then came to a complete stop because traffic was coming in the opposite direction. There was also a car facing me in the alternate lane of the road that I was turning into. Once all oncoming traffic had passed, I pressed the accelerator to make a left turn and turned and moved forward just a few feet when the emergency collision avoidance system was triggered and the car's brakes locked. Within a few moments, the system released and I was able to drive on. Both situations were identical in location and the traffic situation was as I just noted in both cases. The most recent occasion that the system was triggered happened this week. I was in a right turn lane with a car in front of me and one or several cars behind me. I had come to a stop behind the car in front of me who was waiting to make a right turn onto the road. Our turn signal was red. Once the turn signal turned green, the car in front of me moved forward and made the right turn. I accelerated and went about 25 feet and was about to join the road when the collision avoidance system activated, (an alarm sounded, a red symbol was on my dash, and the brakes locked). The car behind me skidded to a stop, luckily without hitting me, and then my car's system released and allowed me to drive on. This must be happening to other users. If so, Porsche should be made aware and they should fix this.

The issues started from first days of ownership and happen intermittently and stopping and restarting the car always fixes them which probably suggest they are software bugs. I was making a left turn after being stopped at a traffic light - just a few moments after the turn, all of a sudden I experienced violent jerking motions of the car, and lost all power in the middle of traffic, and rolled to a complete stop. This was an exceptionally dangerous place to just have the car stop responding. I noted an error message "Engine Control Error" with a red ring around it in the rightmost instrument cluster. I turned on my hazard lights; other electrical functions were still working in the car (e.g. music was still playing over the audio system). I power cycled car off and then on again, and cleared the error, and the car drove normally again. The problem did not recur despite driving about 5 miles more on the way home. I have stopped and started car and drove brief periods several times since then without issue. The state of charge was about 75%, having charged last night at home on AC to 80%. Ambient temperature outside was hot today, almost 90 degrees F, and very humid.

The tungsten carbide coating on the PSCB (Porsche Surface Coated Brake) rotors has failed at 44,000 miles. This is not normal wear. The Taycan’s regenerative braking system handles the substantial majority of deceleration under normal driving conditions, meaning the mechanical brakes on this vehicle have seen a fraction of the use they would on a comparable internal combustion vehicle at the same mileage. Coating failure under these conditions is consistent with a material or manufacturing defect. Porsche has issued Technical Service Bulletins addressing PSCB disc replacement on the 2020 Taycan, indicating this is a known issue. Porsche Cars North America was contacted twice requesting goodwill consideration and denied both requests, citing warranty expiration without addressing the vehicle’s braking profile or the existence of related TSBs. The cost of OEM PSCB rotor replacement is approximately $7,500–$10,000 including labor. No safety-equivalent aftermarket replacement exists for this proprietary system, leaving owners with no practical alternative to the full OEM repair cost.

I am reporting a safety issue with my Porsche Taycan. On two separate occasions within the past month, the vehicle has experienced a sudden and complete loss of power while I was accelerating hard on the highway. In both instances, the vehicle immediately entered “turtle mode,” severely limiting performance to the point where there was effectively no power available to maintain speed or safely maneuver with traffic. The only way to restore normal operation was to fully stop the vehicle, turn it off, and restart it. This creates a dangerous situation, especially at highway speeds, as it exposes me and other drivers to a high risk of collision due to the sudden and unexpected loss of propulsion.

The vehicle experiences a sudden and dangerous malfunction while driving. Without any prior warning, the vehicle begins to shake and then immediately brakes on its own, coming to an abrupt stop in the middle of traffic. Only after the vehicle has already braked and shut down does an “Engine Control Error” message appear on the display. There is no advance alert and no time for the driver to react or move out of traffic. This is exceptionally concerning especially as this vehicle was being used a primary mode of transportation for my 2 young toddlers who were present in the vehicle during these failures. The vehicle was purchased directly from Porsche as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in June 2025, and was represented by Porsche as having passed all safety and mechanical inspections at the time of purchase. Despite this, the vehicle has continued to experience catastrophic failures. Following the initial shutdown incident, the vehicle was towed to Porsche for service on September 2. Porsche stated that the issue had been repaired and assured that the vehicle was safe to operate. However, on September 29, the same failure occurred again. The vehicle shook, abruptly braked in active traffic, shut itself down, and only then displayed the engine control failure message. This shows that the underlying defect was not corrected and continues to pose a serious safety hazard. The problem is severe, unpredictable, and reproducible. It places the driver, passengers, and surrounding motorists at immediate risk because the vehicle becomes immobilized in traffic with no prior warning and no ability to pull over safely. The vehicle has been inspected by Porsche technicians, but the root cause remains unknown, and Porsche has been unable to provide a successful repair or assurance of safety. This pattern strongly indicates a critical defect in the engine control or power-management system that renders the vehicle unsafe for public road use.

On multiple occasions while driving, the vehicle has suddenly lost all power and displayed the error message: "Engine control error. Stop the car in a safe place." When this occurs, the car becomes completely unresponsive and unable to move forward, posing a significant safety risk, especially when it happens in traffic. I am forced to stop, switch off the vehicle, wait for a couple of minutes, and restart it. The error message disappears after restarting, but the issue continues to recur. This has now happened three times in the past two months. I first brought the vehicle to the dealer after the initial incident, and they recommended a software update. However, after the issue reoccurred and I returned to the dealership, they were unable to retrieve any error codes. Despite these efforts, the problem persists. There is obviously a design flaw in the fan cooling system for the main high voltage 93.4 kw battery. The cooling vents allow small gravel to enter the intake ports powered by fans to cool the battery. (this is a major issue for areas of the country where gravel is used for winter road maintenance. This issues arises every snow season) Gravel gets into the ports and can possibly jamb the fan propeller blades thus not being able to cool the battery properly. I have a work order at the dealership to clean out the cooling ducts. when the gravel enters these ducts they make a grinding sound when the fans engage. The dealership reported this to the manufacturer, and the response from the manufacturer was it is not their issue. The service dealership said additional screening over the intake ports can not be done because information from the manufacturer states this would impede the necessary airflow to cool the batteries. My 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S (VIN [XXX]) has a recurring, dangerous brake failure that remains unresolved after multiple dealer repair attempts. At low speed, the automatic emergency braking system activates on its own and begins decelerating the car. As the car slows to roughly 5 mph, the brake pedal drops, braking pressure disappears, and the vehicle keeps rolling forward. Pressing the pedal as hard as I physically can does not bring the car to a stop. On more than 5 occasions I have had to steer around the vehicle in front of me to avoid a collision. The failure is intermittent and unpredictable, which makes it especially hazardous. The problem has existed since early in my ownership. On [XXX] (16,631 miles), Porsche Livermore found multiple brake booster faults and replaced the brake booster assembly, re-bled the brakes, and recoded the PSM control unit (RO [XXX]). The dead-pedal emergency-stop failure continued. I returned on [XXX] (40,904 miles) for the same problem; the dealer recoded the PSM unit and reset the brake pedal value but classified the pedal travel as "normal" (RO [XXX]). I returned again in May 2026 (46,585 miles) reporting that the dead-pedal emergency-stop failure still remained. The dealer could not duplicate it and called it "operating as designed" (RO/Invoice [XXX]). No crash or injury has occurred only because I was able to take evasive action each time. The defect is unresolved and creates a serious risk of a crash, and I am reporting it so it is on the federal safety record. While driving my electric vehicle, I experienced a sudden loss of power. The car abruptly stopped, leaving tire marks on the street, and the steering wheel began shaking. At the same time, an error message appeared on the dashboard, indicating an engine failure and instructing me to pull over immediately for safety. Fortunately, I was driving alone that day and had chosen an alternative residential route, which allowed for slower speeds and less traffic. Had this incident occurred during my usual commute, where I typically travel at least 45 mph on a heavily trafficked three-lane road, the outcome could have been catastrophic. I am certain that the sudden loss of power in such conditions would have led to a serious accident, endangering not only myself but also other road users. The service center required a full week to duplicate the issue. While there were no prior warnings, messages, or symptoms leading up to this event on my car after researching the incident it is clear that this same instance occurred in over 10,000 like kind vehicles under NHTSA recall number 21V-486. At the time, I had about 25,000 miles on the car, and perhaps 15,000 miles on the summer tires. The tire inspection report from Porsche indicated that I had acceptable tread depth on all tires, and no unusual treadwear. Around the end of June I started seeing a very slow pressure decrease in my left rear tire, from about 41psi to 38 psi over a few weeks. On July 18, I experienced a severe drop in pressure to 22 psi and I filled the tire with air to 45psi and used the tire sealant to drive the car to the Porsche dealer, and arrived with 29psi. At no point during the time I had the summer tires on did I ever do anything unusual, or hit any road hazards. Porsche provided me the attached video showing severe cracking between the sidewall and tread around the entire diameter of the drivers side rear, and cracking around part of the diameter of the passenger rear. They claimed this was due to 'misalignment' of the rear tires. The alignment report (attached) shows the drivers rear was within specification, and the passenger rear was 0.2 degrees out of camber (-1.8 deg vs spec of -1.6 deg). There was still 4mm of tread on the tire, and no unusual tread wear was noted on any tires. I have replaced all 4 tires, and am very concerned that the same thing may happen, and I could have a catastrophic failure at high speed. Porsche is unwilling to do anything other than pay for the drivers tire. I don't see how I can be assured that the exact same thing won't happen in the future, since there was no testing or observation that Porsche did that indicated any kind of problem.

I was driving in the fast/lane of the freeway, and suddenly the car flashed red "Electrical System Error" "Park Vehicle in Safe Place". The car immediately started to decellerate on its own and I didn't have time to go over to the right so had to move into the left shoulder of the freeway. I was stuck in the middle of the freeway, with cars driving fast coming around a bend of the freeway behind me having to swerve out of the way. Cops finally came to give me cover from behind. Dealership still trying to figure out what the issue is.

In the center of the lane on a straight highway, vehicle will suddenly brake without warning. There are no vehicles ahead. A warning light comes on the dash and says “Driver Control Required,” yet both my hands are on the steering wheel. The feeling is that of a brake check performed by the electronic sensors of the car, and not at the driver’s command. Had there been a car following behind me, he could have hit me in the rear. Dealer is aware of the complaint but says, “system is working as designed.” Manufacturer responds by directing me back to the dealership. Yet the problem persists.

The backup camera is highly distorted and it is difficult to see what is in the distance (more than 10 ft) from the rear of the car. I have had multiple incidents where I almost hit someone who was walking up the street past my driveway entrance. The other problem is when you turn the backup camera turns, and there is no frame of reference left so it is extremely distorted and hard to figure out where things are at. I have a Mercedes GLS450 and the backup cameras clearly show the street at the end of our driveway. I've attached comparison views of the street from our garage using the Porsche and Mercedes cameras. This backup camera is hazardous to the safety of anyone walking across the backup path of this car, and this issue needs to be addressed immediately. There is just no excuse to have such a poor quality camera on any car. By the way this car cost $50,000 more than my Mercedes!!

The backup camera is highly distorted and it is difficult to see what is in the distance (more than 30 ft) from the rear of the car. I have had two incidents where I almost hit someone who was walking up the street past my driveway entrance. I need to look in the opposite direction for oncoming cars and I rely on the backup camera to see if anyone is walking towards the driveway entrance as I'm backing up. The resolution on the camera is absolutely terrible and highly distorted. We have a Ford F150 pickup and a Mercedes 350 GLE and the backup cameras clearly show the street at the end of our driveway. I've attached comparison views of the street from our garage using the Porsche and Mercedes cameras. This backup camera is hazardous to the safety of anyone walking across the backup path of this car, and this issue needs to be addressed immediately. My 2020 Taycan Turbo was purchased brand new by myself July 07/ 2020, and has had a tremendous amount of problems and issues. All are documented and have photos as proof. The car is available for whomever wishes to inspect it. One of the more recent issues was the car - without warning - while I was driving, not functioning and I wasn't able to turn the wheel, use the gas pedal, the brake or anything. Nothing in the car was operable. After it coasted ( I was almost rear ended but luckily the other driver veered off the road to avoid a collision.) the brakes decided to work. A red light came on which reads " Engine Control Error, Park vehicle in a safe place " , along with photos of 2 cars with exclamation points on them. Also illuminated was a photo which shows a photos of a drive train and 4 wheels. After turning the car on and off several times, the car decided it would operate. I drove it to the dealership. More comments and issues to be added. - Numerous - Have photos of All

After a software “upgrade” the speed control features were stated to be “unavailable” however the car still was in cruise and accelerator was depressed without indicating that to me as the driver. Car accelerated unintentionally on highway and emergency action had to be taken to avoid accident.

THE CAR SHOWED AN ELECTRICAL ERROR & LOST POWER THEN SHUT DOWN ON THE FREEWAY. ONCE THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP I WAS UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT LOCKED ME INSIDE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND HAD I NOT TAKE THE PRECAUTIONS TO EXIT THE FREEWAY I MAY NOT HAVE SURVIVED. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AS FROM WHAT I'VE READY, THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON ISSUE IN THIS VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED FIRST ON THE ,'DECEMBER 16TH & THEN AGAIN DECEMBER 25TH. SOFTWARE AND THE 12V BATTERY WERE REPLACED THE FIRST TIME, AND THE DAY AFTER THE CAR WAS PICKED UP FROM SERVICE IT HAPPENED AGAIN.
