TIRES:TEMPORARY/EMERGENCY SPARE TIRE

NHTSA #25V912000

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2026 Rogue vehicles. The incorrect-size spare tire may have been installed, which does not match the tire size and inflation pressure information on the tire placard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Consecuencia reportada: Incorrect spare tire pressure information on the placard may lead to incorrect inflation of the spare tire, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedio: Dealers will inspect and replace the spare tire assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 25, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's number for this recall is PD180. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on January 6, 2026.

On May 11, 2026, I was driving on Interstate XXX from [XXX] to [XXX] . Throughout the drive, I had difficulty getting my vehicle to 45 and staying there. At the [XXX] exit (roughly halfway to my destination), my check engine light came on with a message, "CVT malfunction Service Now". On May 12, 2026, I took my vehicle to Loyalty Nissan for diagnostic testing and repair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The transmission malfunctioned when I shifted from reverse to drive. It took extra effort to put it into drive from reverse, and when it finally shifted/clunked into place it made a loud sound, literally jerking the car. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Not, yet. I have an appt at 7:30 a.m. on 3/24 with Pinnacle Nissan repair, but they are not aware of this issue yet. I will add it this morning, 3/23/2026. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No

On 11/4/25 with only 377 miles on the odometer after backing out of my driveway I put the car into drive, nothing happened initially but then it stalled out in the road way. The vehicle displayed no warning lights and it did go into drive after that point. Vehicle has yet to be diagnosed.

On Friday 01/02/2026 in my driveway, when closing my driver side front door of my 2026 Nissan Rogue purchased in mid-December, I suddenly heard a loud pop followed by crashing like breaking glass sound. I look around and the back rear windshield had a huge hole in the center with glass falling into the car trunk. I contacted my dealership and there were no active recalls, but searching online did fine other drivers reporting this issue on social media. I plan to have the dealership inspect the damage this week and see if it is related to other active recalls for other models.

Vehicle Information • Make/Model: Nissan Rogue (2026) - purchased as a lease in August 2025 • Mileage: 7,810 • VIN: [XXX] • Date of incident: 4/20/26 • Location: Highway travel (Pennsylvania) Engine stall / sudden loss of power while driving While driving my brand new 2026 Nissan Rogue at approximately 75 mph on a highway, the vehicle suddenly and completely stalled without warning. The engine lost all power while the vehicle was in motion, resulting in an immediate and dangerous reduction in speed. There were no prior signs of malfunction before the stall. The vehicle became unable to maintain highway speed and effectively lost propulsion while in active traffic conditions. This created a serious safety hazard, as the sudden loss of power at highway speed placed me and surrounding vehicles at risk of a collision. I had to maneuver the vehicle to safety while attempting to avoid traffic. The vehicle is brand new and should not experience a complete engine stall under normal highway driving conditions. This incident raises a significant concern regarding a potential defect in engine performance, fuel delivery, transmission control, or electronic power management systems. Because the failure occurred at highway speed without warning, it represents a critical safety risk that may affect other drivers if it is a systemic issue. Actions Taken After Incident • Vehicle was brought to dealership / service center • Case opened with manufacturer (Nissan) • The vehicle was towed and currently getting the engine replaced I am requesting that NHTSA: 1. Review this incident as a potential safety defect 2. Determine whether similar complaints exist for this model/year 3. Investigate whether this issue warrants a safety recall or manufacturer investigation 4. Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence I am reporting this to ensure it is documented and reviewed as part of national safety monitoring. The contact owned a 2026 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after arriving at her job and safely exiting the vehicle, white smoke was noticed by her manager on duty coming from under the hood. In addition, prior to the failure, the contact stated that while stopped at a red light, the vehicle had hesitated to maintain automotive after independently jolting forward. No warning lights illuminated. The local fire department arrived on screen to extinguish the fire. The source of the fire was deemed an engine compartment fire. A Police report was filed. A Fire Department report was filed. No injuries were sustained, and no medical attention was sought. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard, where it was later taken by the insurance provider and deemed a total loss. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,030.

NHTSA #11726978

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The vehicle is exhibiting abnormal engine noise consistent with Recall 26V080 (Engine Bearings). There is a high pitched/white noise sound that consistently increases as the car's speed increases. I have turned off the speaker sound item, and all electronics and it is still there. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The abnormal noise indicates an imminent engine bearing service (Recall 26V080), which causes a total loss of motive power and fire risk. This makes the vehicle unpredictable and unsafe to operate in traffic, especially given the documented hesitation during restarts." Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, I have an appt. on 3/24/2026 at 7:30 a.m. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No

Less than 24 hours after the transmission issue was fixed, I was driving down the interstate with my speedometer registering 147 MPH. I immediately took the vehicle back to the dealership. While the vehicle was in "Park", the speedometer was reading 80 MPH. Technicians were unable to replicate the problem, and I'm stuck with a vehicle that I'm not sure registers an accurate speed.

I was driving at night at highway speed, and I turned down the brightness of the screen using the dimmer controls on the lower left side of the dash assembly. After several presses of the button from full illumination to approximately 40%, the entire instrument panel went blank, and a loud alert sounded. I lost all instrumentation for a few seconds, and then the screen rebooted. After it rebooted back at full brightness, I tried reducing it again, and the instrument panel rebooted for a second time while on the highway.

The contact owns a 2026 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after loading items into the vehicle through the front passenger’s side, the door was closed, and the contact heard a loud sound of a glass shattering. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact discovered that the rear glass had shattered. The contact immediately called the dealer, and was referred to the Collision Center, which could temporarily tape the glass until the glass was replaced. The contact stated that after the glass was taped with plastic, the plastic popped out after closing the doors. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic, where the window was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 800.

While Driving on I-10 I drove threw a small dust devil doing 78 mph and the drivers side trim next to the window flew off. There were other vehicles behind me and beside me. I did notice the cars behind me slowed down. There was no waring before hand. no sound, no movement, nothing. The Vehicle was just under 6,000 miles. I took it to Las Cruces Nissan. Ordered the part. The parts guy informed me this has happened to other drivers in the past and the part is on back order.

Electrical System,Service Brakes,Engine1 queja

I am reporting a recurring safety issue with the vehicle’s auto engine stop/start system. When the vehicle comes to a stop, the engine sometimes shuts off normally (other time only the auto-brakes engage, but engine stays on), but then the system behaves unpredictably. The engine attempts to restart with a violent jolt, causing the entire vehicle to shake. This occurs even when I am fully stopped with my foot on the brake. It feels like the vehicle is trying to lurch forward or restart against resistance. The issue is repeatable, happens in normal driving conditions, and creates a safety concern because the sudden jolt can startle the driver, cause unintended movement, or lead to loss of control in traffic. I believe this may indicate a defect in the auto‑engine‑stop system, engine mounts, starter system, or related control modules. Please investigate, as other owners may be experiencing the same unsafe behavior.

Forward Collision Avoidance1 queja

I have a 2026 Nissan Rogue Platinum with Pro Pilot assist. When engaging the ProPilot cruise control with adaptive cruise control, if you are traveling on a road with stop lights and the car in front of you is stopped at a light and you car is traveling at 45 mph , if the vehicle at the light is more than a block away and you are approaching with no car icon on the dash, your car will not slow down until there is a emergency panic stop. I don't know if the car would stop in time. I applied brakes and came to a panic sideways stop inches from the car in front of me. I took my car to Woodbury Nissan and was told that that is the way the system is designed to work by [XXX] a service writer. He didn't want to discuss it further. I called the manage and he had me come in and have one of the service managers drive my vehicle. When he drove it and the car did not slow down, he had to hit the brakes. You could tell he was scared by the experience. They agreed to bring it in and test it but I knew they would do nothing. They told me there were no adjustments to ProPilot assist. Then I brought it in and left it. They called me back a few hours later and told me that they drove another Rogue and it did the same thing. They couldn't do anything for mr. I had a 2025 Hyundai SanteFe with adaptive cruise control. It did not stop like the Rogue. It slowed down when approaching the stopped vehicle before coming to a stop. If nothing is done to warn ProPilot owners of this issue, someone is going to get killed. If a car is cruising down the [XXX] and come up to one of those lights on the southern end the will never stop in time. Please let people know before people lose their lives in these vehicles. Thank you. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicle reads the speed limit signs improperly and the adaptive cruise control will speed up the vehicle to the improper speed limit. For instance it is 45 mph on SR 70 in TN and the vehicle will read the speed limit as 70 mph and take off up to 70 mph on it's own. Very dangerous. Took it to 2 dealers and they are unable to fix the problem.

Steering,Forward Collision Avoidance,Lane Departure1 queja

The software for the ProSystem is flawed. When using the "lane keeping" part of the software, the vehicle, during a curve, will go to the left or right solid or dotted line, as appropriate, and exceed that limit by at least 2 feet, then sharply turn and go to the opposite solid or dotted line and exceed that limit by at least 2 feet. The vehicle will then oscillate between the two line for up to one minute with the oscillations decreasing all the while. When driving in a straight line with either solid or dotted lines delineating the lane, the steering wheel will continues to oscillate to a minor degree. I have turned the system off and do not use it. I have returned the vehicle to the dealer, Round Rock Nissan, Georgetown, TX for repair and was told the system is working correctly and do modifications are necessary. Opinion: In my opinion, the software for the ProSystem is flawed causing the vehicle to be unsafe. The software need to be recalled, rewritten, real world tested extensively and reinstalled in all vehicles equipped with this software. This should be done immediately. I am aware of at least two other vehicles with the same issue.
