The active grill shutter is in operative and has had to be replaced three times with an 18 months. I was told that this is a common issue with this vehicle and that when the active grill shutter stops functioning, it isn’t a danger to the engine and can cause dangerous scenarios.

June 2025 rear door locks stopped working. (Odometer 12,538) I was unable to lock/unlock doors with key fob or with inside driver's door lock/unlock button. Repaired 06/10/2025 at Mentor Nissan, 44060, by replacement of parts #82500-6R0B & 82501-6R0B: CONTROLLER-LOCK in both rear doors. Incident #2: Feb 2026 front driver-side door lock became inoperable, the same as had occurred with the rear door locks. I'm at Nissan Mentor today (02/17/2026) for evaluation & repair. (Odometer 15,200) Both of these door lock issues resulted in inability to enter/exit vehicle. Very dangerous if someone were unable to exit vehicle in emergency. Otherwise a big inconvenience requiring one to climb over other seats to enter/exit vehicle. The car is under extended warranty. June 2025 I paid $100 deductible plus tax & fee, totaling $110.21. Today's repair cost to be determined. In each incident there were no warning lamps or messages. Both issues began with intermittent lock/unlock failure, then escalated to complete failure within 2-3 weeks. This has caused several inconveniences of not being able to enter the vehicle through the effected doors. And now the second incident again requires waiting for repair. In the first instance with rear door there was a wait of several weeks for the needed replacement parts. I anticipate the same delay with the front door repair. As I write this I'm at Mentor Nissan facility waiting for report from service department.

I continue to get a check engine light on my car that reads code P0101. The very first time it happened I took it to a mechanic they read the diagnostic code and advised I would need to replace the Mass Airflow sensor. I purchase the part from a Nissan dealership and it was replaced by a mechanic approximately January 2025. The light would continue to come on sporadically. I took it back and was told that engine air filter was dirty. It was replaced the code was cleared and driving fine. 10 months later the same light and code are appearing on my car. It’s been taken to a mechanic whom after checking wiring and other components again believes it’s the mass air flow sensor. This part is not cheap but continues to cause a problem even when replaced with genuine parts.

The back-up camera on my car no longer functions. When put in reverse, the back-up area appears gray and there is an X in it. The birds-eye view portion works on the sides and front, but the back is also gray and has an X in it. Other 2021 Nissan Rogues were recalled for this problem happening around the 50,000 mile mark. Mine was not one of them but I am thinking it probably should have been. No accidents have happened and I do know how to use mirrors to back up but this should not be happening. I would not report it if I had not seen that thousands of2021-22 Nissan Rogues had been recalled for this issue. I am putting the date as 5/1/25, but this happened intermittently when it was windy so I thought it had something to do with the wind. It completely stopped working on 5/1/25.

Hi Team, I own a certified 2021 Nissan and am currently experiencing a water leak at the top front corners of the windshield. The vehicle has been inspected for windshield defects and clogged drains, but no issues were found. After conducting some research online, I discovered that this issue closely resembles the one described in Technical Bulletin NTB21-097A. However, my vehicle’s VIN does not show any active recall associated with this bulletin. I am attaching pictures for your reference. I kindly request that you consider covering this issue under the scope of the bulletin and advise me on the next steps in the process. Thank you for your assistance. I’m not exactly sure what is wrong but can only assume it would be engine or transmission related. While driving whether it’s city streets going 5 to 35 miles an hour or on the freeway with a speed limit of 75 at any moment while driving RPMs will shoot high and stay high until I am able to safely pull over Put the vehicle in park and then proceed back into drive. This has happened several times while on the freeway, which poses serious safety issues in pulling off a freeway safely, and has happened numerous times driving the city streets in my town. I took the vehicle in to be checked out And was told CVT transmissions are notorious for having issues, especially in this year make and model of vehicle. Shortly after having the vehicle serviced I see the article showing over 400,000 vehicles are being recalled for the same exact issue. I need to make sure that my car is included in that recall because it is the exact same issue and needs resolved as this is a fairly new vehicle and should not be having these issues or opposing danger to myself and my family When I have attempted to resolve the issue.

The display went black when backing up and the rear camera turned on

NHTSA #11656212

My auctuators door locks have failed numerous times. The passenger rear was replaced when the vehicle was still under warranty. In the last 6 months the front drivers side, and passenger side has failed. Nissan does not have a recall on these and should! My car only has 32,000 miles on it. There obviously is an issue that needs to be addressed with a recall.

Since October of 2024, I've been having recurring leaks coming through the front right passenger's side at the top corner of the windshield, where the seam in the fabric meets. I have had multiple appointments at Nissan dealerships, where I've been told "your drains are clogged," "it's how it was manufactured," "we'll add some sealant," etc. and the problem has progressively gotten worse and worse, spreading to other areas of my roof, staining my interior, and causing mold and mildew issues. I wonder if it's not a sunroof problem, but a roof rack problem. There was a recall on a batch of 2021 Nissan Rogues in 2021 for this issue, but my car's manufacturing date unfortunately did not fall under that recall. Nissan will not check to see if that's the issue since my car is not technically under recall. I've found a huge community of people online who have had the same problems with their Nissan Rogues, and have unfortunately either had to sell their cars back to the dealership, or are living with mold and mildew in their cars because it's a problem that Nissan has not been willing to fix. I'm asking that this problem is looked into further on behalf of myself and other 2021 Nissan Rogue owners whose particular manufacturing dates did not fall under the recall for the leaking roof racks (attached) and are continuing to have water leak into their cars. My whole sunroof, besides the glass, was replaced in June of 2025, and the problem worsened (photos attached). My car is now back in the shop at a different dealership, with the hopes that they can help me.

On or about, July 25, 2024, while standing next to vehicle, I noticed cracking of the windshield rubber (the rubber around the windshield). After further inspection, it’s along the top, where there is also rubber seals (which is now melted into the vehicle). This vehicle is 3 years old with 12,200 miles.

Right when the summer started to reach 100 degree weather, the air conditioner went out on my car. It jas stopped reading the outside air temperature. Nissan I have gotten two different opinions that vary greatly in price and time. After doing some research, I have noticed this is an ongoing problem with 2021 Nissan Rogues. With Nissan being difficult to work with. Nissan states the whole compressor needs to be replaced.

Hello, My VIN is not included part of recall which it has for this year. It has same symtom as other vehicles where vehicle slows down while driving. "One of the most common causes for slow acceleration in Nissan Rogue is a faulty CVT valve body, which is part of the continuously variable transmission system. This can cause the car to lose power and acceleration after driving for a long time or in hot weather." Nissan Manufacturer is not willing to listen to me or test it. I need some asisstance.

The panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded while on the highway. The noise was highly disturbing and almost made us crash because it was so unexpected. A glass company and insurance adjuster have looked at it and determined the whole system will have to be removed. There were no prior warnings.

Since i Financed my car is have been hearing cracking sounds when turning the steering wheel. I reached out to dealership several times and kept being told someone will contact me. Over months and several calls no help was giving. I went to dealership and made someone come out to check my car noise. They made me take it back another day to be fixed they said it was the break back plate turns out I get car back noise stated again. I called again took back again they said it was rear strut part was on backorder so had to wait weeks for part. Took it back on 9/17 as they take the old strut out another piece they claimed crumbled into pieces my car stayed overnight as they had to order part. 9/18 i get a call they fixed it test drove but still hears cracking sounds. Now they saying it's the tire rod on front drivers side where I originally stated I hear the cracking sounds. How can a 2021 rogue with 23k miles when I purchased from Nissan dealership have a bad tire rod. I've done research just now and see my nissan isn't only one. I believe this is something that should be looking into with this yr model nissan. The dealership also should of addressed this issue back when I 1st bought the car and informed them about it. Almost 7 months now driving with a bad tire rod with my family in the car.

On around [XXX] around 9-10 pm. I hear a muffled explosion. It even vibrated our house. It scared me and our two dogs. On [XXX] we ran errands in my vehicle. We get home. I open her hatch to get stuff out. I hear broken glass sound. I look up to see her rear window completely shattered. With two holes. One in the same area on either side. The glass actually blew outwards!! I called my local Nissan in Greeneville, TN. They told me to bring it in on on [XXX]. Before taking it in. I googled our issue. Low and behold NUMEROUS 2021 Nissan Rogue owners on a Nissan Forum has had the same issue! Nissan denies that there's been any issues have they had to replace any rear windows due to this. On a Nissan Forum other customers have been denied as well! A company that makes BILLIONS won't accept responsibility. I know one thing. We'll never buy another Nissan for sure. As we had to pay out of pocket almost $500 to have it replaced. Nissan denied ours as I had to tape it all up. Otherwise it would've fallen out into the road. Roughly 2 dozen or more customers can't be lying nor be wrong. Please help us. As I'm pretty sure it's a bad batch of glass. If it were anything else there'd probably be more. I was in my 2021 Nissan Rogue and just turned right down the street from my in-laws home ( out of state in Indiana) when the vehicle violently jerked to the right and I was unable to control it and sent me into a ditch. My speed was 14mph when this happened. I managed to get it up on the road and inspected it. I found the right front rim broke, the lower control arm broke, and inner tie rod bent, as well as body damage to the fender and bumper. The tpms light and the forward collision light is on at the dash. I reported it to my insurance company. I managed to put the spare on and get it into my in-laws driveway. It will need towed to get repaired. The vehicle can be inspected where it is at. No warning lights before for this incident happened. I’m very greatful this didn’t happen on the interstate with my family in the vehicle.

NHTSA #11720816

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH, the vehicle suddenly stopped in the middle of the roadway. I was driving. I hit nothing. My steering traction light comes on, and the car starts pulling to the right. I go in the shop. There is a bend in my passenger inner tie rod. I took it to the dealer. they keep trying to get me to say I had an accident. I did not. Now they want to charge me 3500 to replace the whole steering rack because they "can't just purchase the inner tie rod". Which they can. MANY PEOPLE are having the same problem with their tie rods being faulty on these cars.

I have pictures this tie rod end is much to small of a diameter to be in a position to Carry the load of front drive and steering wheels. Normal road conditions today are much to rough for this.

The assessment is I was simply driving down [XXX] where I live, and my car started this horrible wobbling in the front end and I couldn't control the steering wheel. I was able to safely get the rogue pulled over to the side of the road. I got out upon looking at the car, I couldn't see anything wrong on the outside. But, upon further examination, I got down and laid down and looked under the car, it revealed that the driver's side inner tie rod had snapped in half. This is not normal being my car only has 46k on it. I called my brother in law who is a mechanic and sent him pictures of it and he confirmed it was the tie rod. So I started googling to find a replacement and low and behold, Nissan is under investigation for this problem happening in the 21 Nissan rogues to ike I have. I called suntrup Nissan where I had purchased the car in May and was basically told by the parts dept there, that there was nothing they could do to help me because they wouldn't even be able to get the part for at least two months. I find that ridiculous. Nissan doesn't even manufacture parts for their own vehicles they sell.. my brother in-law searched until he finally found a place in China that makes them for this model and mwe have one ordered 103.00 for the tie rod. I couldn't find where my car was in the recall but I feel so should be because it's the same problem they are under investigation for. I cannot afford to have my car looked at at a dealership, because I already pay 600. Month. For the car and I don't have extra money laying Round. nd the dealer already basically told me don't know what to tell you cause we wouldn't be able to fix it.. so I need to know what do do to at least be reimbursed for the labor I've had to pay someone to look. At this and for the part and then changing it.. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Tue 10/17/23...power steering assist failed...steering locked up while exiting my driveway. Had vehicle towed to Sutherlin Nissan 8125 E. Colonial Dr. Orl FL 32817. They repaired vehicle and I picked it up Fri 10/20/23. They claimed this was an anomaly and would never happen again. Thu 10/26/23 steering kept locking up and releasing...steering light on dashboard kept going on/off. Had vehicle towed to Sutherlin Nissan. They claimed they found nothing wrong and returned vehicle to me. Tue 10/31/23 felt steering acting when parking...drove around building complex and parked several times...felt nothing. Thu 11/2/23 after making a left turn while driving steering locked up causing me to lose control and end up diagonally across middle of road narrowly missing another vehicle. driver of other vehicle came to my assistance and thought I had a medical episode and wanted to call 911. I had to fight the steering to get it out of the middle of the road. She then thought I was under the "influence". I had to have her check the steering to convince I was not. She then remarked that I should not be driving a "defective" vehicle on the road which can easily cause an accident resulting in serious injury or even death to myself and /or other motorists. Had vehicle towed to Sutherlin Nissan. Fri 11/3/23 went to Sutherlin and told them I would not be driving the said vehicle again and like to turn it in under the "Lemon Law"......they refused.....I am here wondering what should be my next course of action. I still owe the Bank and am responsible for the payments/balance.... they have possession of the vehicle.. and I am without transportation. I am suspecting that the vehicle might have some history of steering problems with a previous owner and asked them to show me the previous service history...but they refused.

Had to replace engine around 136000 and pay for it out of pocket. I am finding other people with the same model and year having this same issue This is what they said "verified cel was on. vehicle was running really bad, there was no coolant in the reservoir, i pulled spark plugs and inspected all the cylinders, cylinders 3 & 4 spark plugs were covered in fluid and were black. i used combustion checker to test coolant in cooling system and found there was combustion gases in the coolant. i then filled up coolant pressure tested while using borescope to check the cylinders, and i found cylinders 3 & 4 are actively leaking coolant from head gasket. there looks to be a gap between both cylinders like the head and or block is warped from over heating. will need engine replacement and transfer of all necessary parts"

4/8/26 I took my car to a Nissan dealership for low coolant issues. I agreed to pay a 225 diagnostic fee. Nissan held my vehicle for 2 days eventually giving me the car back stating nothing was wrong. The car was returned to me in worse condition than before with white smoke and starting was rough. I called them to inform them as well as making a new appointment. They did a 2nd diagnosis allegedly. Now I need an entire engine and they have active recalls for the same year model for the exact same issues but won’t consider my car to be part of the recall. This is a follow up on my email originally sent to Nissan North America, Inc. & forwarded to The US NHTSA. I had purchased a used 2021 Nissan Rogue SV Car bearing the VIN as [XXX] from a local used car dealer in Garland TX USA. The car ran well in the last 2 years except for 1 time repair issue on the Radiator & now the Engine. On [XXX], my car started giving me trouble on the excessive consumption of the Coolant & it got exceptionally overheated while driving. Regular Timely Service has been done on the car. More recently, the car's engine got locked a few times & did not start upon my attempting to start the car. I took the car to Christian Brothers Automotive in Bedford, TX where they diagnosed that the vehicle struggles to start & runs rough. Vehicle smells like it is burning coolant badly, pulled out oil dipstick & found coolant mixed with oil, Blown head gasket and recommended a new engine. Driving at that time was not recommended due to the overheating issues. I took the car to Nissan of Lewisville/Lewisville Nissan & requested them to check the car thoroughly. Initially, I requested a basic 60K Service package which included a Radiator Coolant Flush & other necessary services provided by Nissan North America/Nissan Motor Corporation. Nissan of Lewisville/Lewisville Nissan refused to repair the car claiming expired warranty and demanded $10000.00 from me besides their repeated threats for charging storage fees & towing charges. Forward Collision Avoidance6 quejas

I had purchased a brand new 2021 Nissan Rouge SV AWD in 2021. I am now at 46,000 miles and I have had all system lights on and off since purchase. The first started with back hatch around 20 miles, went to go get it taken care of and it disappeared. I have broke down with electrical issues twice now, with error code of 'Warning Malfunction', 'forward collision warning', 'air bag', 'forward collision light' and 'check engine" on dash. On Sunday August 10 2025, I was driving on the highway at 70 MPH, and my vehicle slammed on the brakes automatically with kids in the car. Looking at the dashboard showed forward collision light, with no cars near me. I then went 35 MPH to get off nearest exit. I made it home safely with minor issues to kids neck from the brake issue. Yesterday on August 13 2025 I went to my local supermarket to get milk, and the car wouldn't start after I went shopping and showed a different error of 'Malfunction'. In the winter time the light of forward collision comes on, and I have no control over my vehicle at all. I then assumed I needed better tires and purchased them, however it made no difference. This SUV is very dangerous, and I am terrified to even drive it. The airbag light has now been on also, and in addition to yesterday's break down, the engine light is also on. I have an appointment again for my Nissan dealer now on Tuesday August 19 2025, and hoping this will be resolved. At 46,000 miles this should not be an issue, let alone danger my family. I also have videos, that won't allow upload here. Please help me.

I brought my 2021 Nissan Rogue in for service at Jenkins Nissan in Lakeland, FL for a oil change and tire rotation and we have had a light on our dash board indicating a airbag error and they charged us to look that up and said it is an airbag module or sensor that is causing the error message on the dashboard as the paper work said it is a Sensor-Side Airbag Center causing that and said it would cost around $1460 to repair that. I looked up recalls on my Rogue and it listed an Airbag issue on some of the 2021 Nissan Rogue models but did not list mine specifically. The failure involves the AWD drivetrain system, specifically the rear differential assembly and previously the electromagnetic AWD coupler. The vehicle developed significant shuddering and vibration during acceleration from a stop and while turning at low speeds. A Nissan dealership has confirmed metal contamination within the AWD system and recommended replacement of the rear differential. The vehicle has not yet been repaired and is available for inspection upon request. This condition creates unpredictable acceleration and hesitation, particularly when entering traffic or making turns. The vehicle does not respond consistently to throttle input, which poses a safety risk by limiting the driver’s ability to accelerate as expected and avoid potential hazards or collisions. The issue has been confirmed by both an independent mechanic and a Nissan dealership. The independent mechanic identified abnormal debris during fluid service and suspected a drivetrain issue. The dealership later confirmed excessive metal contamination in the AWD system. The vehicle has been inspected by an independent mechanic and a Nissan dealership. The manufacturer has not physically inspected the vehicle but has been contacted through Consumer Affairs. No warning lights or messages appeared. Vehicle Safety Complaint – Fuel Leak I am reporting a serious safety issue with my vehicle. Vehicle: Nissan Rogue 2021 There is a fuel leak from underneath the fuel tank area, and a strong gasoline odor inside the cabin. The smell is noticeable while driving and when the vehicle is parked. This creates a fire and explosion hazard, and I believe the vehicle is unsafe to operate. The manufacturer/dealer informed me that the warranty has expired and refused to cover the repair. No accident occurred, but the fuel leak is ongoing and presents an immediate safety risk. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed as a potential safety defect.

NHTSA #11709061

The fuel pump and fuel level system appear to be malfunctioning. After refueling, the fuel gauge on the dashboard fluctuates continuously and does not provide a stable or accurate reading. This fluctuation continues for several minutes after pumping gas. The vehicle also struggles to start, requiring multiple attempts before turning on. On multiple occasions, the engine has shut off unexpectedly while the vehicle was in motion. This issue poses a safety risk because the vehicle can stall while driving, which increases the risk of a collision, especially in traffic or at higher speeds. The inaccurate fuel gauge also makes it difficult to determine the actual fuel level, increasing the risk of running out of fuel unexpectedly. The problem has occurred multiple times and is reproducible. The fuel pump and related components are available for inspection upon request. Dealer or independent service center confirmation is UNKNOWN at this time. Inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives is UNKNOWN. Prior to the vehicle shutting off or struggling to start, symptoms included fluctuating fuel gauge readings immediately after refueling and continued erratic gauge behavior while driving. No warning lights are recalled at this time (UNKNOWN).

Vehicle Safety Defect Report I am submitting this vehicle safety defect report regarding a serious and dangerous failure in a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle experienced complete electronic shutdowns while driving on the highway. During the most severe incidents, on December 19, 2025 and again on January 14, 2026, the vehicle activated the automatic emergency braking system without external cause, shifted into PARK, and shut down completely, leaving the vehicle immobilized in live interstate traffic during heavy rain. The dashboard displayed multiple simultaneous warnings (engine, battery, collision sensors). A repair facility later diagnosed corrosion in the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The module was not replaced, only cleaned, and the failure recurred. This defect presents an extreme risk of collision, serious injury, or death. A vehicle that shuts down and electronically locks while in motion is unsafe to operate. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this electronic defect affecting critical safety and control systems. Videos, dashboard images, repair records, and documented evidence are attached. While driving on an interstate highway during heavy rain, my 2021 Nissan Rogue experienced a complete electronic shutdown. Multiple warning lights appeared simultaneously, the automatic emergency braking system activated without cause, and the vehicle suddenly shifted into PARK and shut off, leaving me immobilized in live traffic. This occurred on December 19, 2025, and the same failure happened again on January 14, 2026. The vehicle could not be moved and required towing. A repair facility diagnosed corrosion in the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The module was only cleaned, not replaced, and the failure recurred. This defect creates a severe risk of collision, serious injury, or death. I narrowly avoided being struck by a truck. I am no longer able to safely operate this vehicle.

I noticed that my car was often unlocked after I knew for a fact that I locked it. I also had a problem with the right passenger door not unlocking even when the unlock button was pushed. I would often have to physically unlock that door on its own. After this happened for about a month, the car now opens even if I have locked it, with some of the doors causing the alarm to sound, even the door easily opened. I am concerned about safety especially when going out late at night or leaving my car parked in public lots. The problem was confirmed by the dealer when I went in for service. They inspected it and told me the door lock actuators on the back doors are bad. After looking this up, I see that there is a class action suit pending for this issue. There were no warnings prior to this happening.

On numerous occasions, my roof was leaking right at the A pillar. This water was getting right into the side air bag, as well as where the electronics for speakers are. The vehicle spent almost 13 weeks at the dealership and took lots of trial and error to finally find the issue. It was eventually found to be the service bulletin issue in the roof rail. My concern is silicone sealant could fail, causing this to leak again. Who knows what mold or rust issues may be hiding inside, causing structural concern over time. The fact that these vehicles have this well known issue but have not been recalled yet is concerning.

NHTSA #11617137

Nissan had improperly installed the roof rail mounts on the 2021 Nissan Rogue causing leaks to occur into the vehicle. These leaks lead to mold accumulation on the interior and quickly becomes a health hazard. Nissan had released a Technical Services Bulletin for this issue; however, they have not yet issued a recall for this. We took our vehicle in for a mold issue and provided the TSB details to them, but they were not willing to warranty the issue as the vehicle had just dropped out of the 3-year warranty period. The estimated repair costs to resolve this issue is over $3,000 dollars and mold toxicity poisoning had occurred due to this manufacturing defect of the vehicle.

A water intrusion issue developed originating from the roof/moonroof area of the vehicle. The problem was initially diagnosed by an authorized dealership as a failure in the moonroof drain system, and the drain tubes were replaced. The repair was completed and marked as resolved. However, the leak continued after the repair. Upon further inspection, the dealership identified the source of the leak as the moonroof rubber seal and recommended replacement of the seal assembly. Water intrusion is entering the headliner and traveling into the upper A-pillar area. This area contains curtain airbag components and associated electrical systems. The presence of moisture in this location raises concern about potential impact to airbag functionality and overall vehicle safety. There were no warning lights or system messages prior to or during the occurrence of this issue. The failure presents as visible water intrusion, including wet headliner material and moisture accumulation near the A-pillar. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by an authorized dealership. The initial repair attempt did not resolve the problem, and the condition remains present. The affected components (drain system and seal area) are available for inspection upon request.

During a recent trip I noticed a "fluttering/rattling" noise coming from the top of the windshield of our 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum. The noise was very noticeable at interstate highway speed and on rougher road surfaces. While looking for the source of noise I found staining on the driver side headliner and interior front pillar garnish. Took Rogue to dealer and was told that the seal for the attachment clips for the roof rack were leaking into the interior. Leakage had damaged headliner and gotten into the airbag. The roof racks would have to be removed and sealed and the entire headliner, front pillar garnish, and the airbag replaced. The total repair would cost approximately $4,000.00. Since the Rogue was 45 months old with 20,500 miles it was out of warranty due to its age. The dealer told me that I would be responsible for the cost to repair it since it was out of warranty. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs to see if they would cover the cost since the leak was caused by a design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan agreed to pay 90% of the repair but I would be responsible for the remaining 10% (approximately $400.00). I told them this was unacceptable and that Nissan should be responsible for the entire cost of the repair. Nissan has refused my requests to cover the full cost of repair. An internet search revealed that Nissan was aware of the defect and had issued a Service Bulletin (NTB21-097, dated 10/20/21), which was a few months before we purchased the vehicle. Since the leak can allow water to damage the airbag it is a serious safety issue. The airbag may not deploy properly during an accident or could suddenly deploy for no reason and cause a crash. Nissan should take full responsibility and pay the full amount for the repair since it is a known design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan should issue a recall for affected vehicles.

Summary of Issue: While driving my 2021 Nissan Rogue SL using cruise control, a vehicle turned left in front of me. My Rogue beeped, disengaged cruise control, and abruptly lost acceleration without braking. This sudden loss of throttle caused my car to decelerate in the middle of the road during active traffic, nearly resulting in a collision. There were no warning lights or messages, and the issue did not resolve until I manually took control of acceleration. Safety Concern: I rely on cruise control regularly, and this unexpected disengagement created a dangerous situation that compromised my ability to safely maintain speed and respond to surrounding traffic. I’m concerned this may be a fault within the adaptive cruise control system or a misinterpretation by the forward-facing sensors.

This event has happen 5 times in the last 8 months. While driving (under 30 miles per hr.) car suddenly seems to disengage from the engine . I no longer have acceleration and the engines RPMs increase while stepping on the gas. Stepping off the gas petal will lower the RPMs but the car slows down and eventually will stop. If I brake and reset the car in Drive, will reset and begin to accelerate. Bad thing is there is not engine warning lights or indication of when this will happen. Each episode has been when I have not been going over 30 mph luckily. Now our car won’t start we had to jump start it again and even with that the battery wont hold its charge. We had a good friend who is a mechanic come in and help us and he did what he could to inspect the car and he was at a lost couldn’t tell us why the car won’t start.

Latches/Locks/Linkages1 queja

Driver side rear door lock electrical actuator will not lock or unlock the door. Door has to be manually unlocked. In the event of an emergency, it will delay the egress of a passenger in the rear seat. The issue would make it near impossible to unlock the door in an emergency especially if it were submerged in water. This is a safety issue and has occurred on a number of these Nissan vehicles. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested.

my gear shifter in my 2021 Rogue was stuck in park. I was stuck in the middle of a 6 lane road. Car would not go into drive or reverse in heavy traffic or neutral. Had waited for police they arrived 15 minutes later car was able to engage drive . Then towed to Nissan of Rockville Center NY. I was informed that liquid was under gear shifer and the electronics were faulty. I had the same issue in 2022 and received 2,500 dollars from Nissan but they never replaced part... Today same issue but life threatening. Water is able to drip down the shifter mechanism and made the CVT light to turned on and the car was stuck in park, Nissan said water got under the shifter. I own the car and never spilled water or accidently spilled water into the gear shifter. I called Nissan consumer affairs case # [XXX] and complained and said " How is this not water proofed as if water can get in this area cause the car to be immobile. stuck in park. I awaited a tow truck from AAA at [XXX] [XXX]... This complaint or defect is serious! I was so scared. But the police surrounded my car from traffic within 3 minutes.. on [XXX], Long Island. This ability for water to go through the shifter and cause this issue is an absolute manufacturers defect and needs to be address to this shifter design. It is the newer style shifter with only forward neutral and park button. this should be a sealed area as the cup holders are 2 inches away from the shifter. I think the issue started 2 years ago and corroded the electronics as nothing has spilt in this area ever! I don't even remember spilling anything in 2022. I asked Nissan if it could of come from below the car.? they said NO. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Steering,Unknown Or Other1 queja

Ok , so 4 weeks ago I was driving down Jefferson Avenue here in st. Louis mo. The road is completely redone , no bumps, pothole etc. I was traveling about 35mph when car stared this possible wobble.. got out and notice my drivers side tie rod had snapped in half. Mind you my car only has 44k on it and I take immaculate care of it. I searched all over trying to find a tie rod for it. No one could produce one. Soni called nissan consumer affairs to get involved amd help locate parts to this car. After them towing my car to a dealer it has sat fir weeks now, amd they finally denied any help saying they wasn't responsible. Amd it was going to have to have a whole new steering rack n pion, which is 2500 dollars I don't have. I've looked around amd called and everyone is saying you hardly ever have to replace all of that for a tie rod. Nissan. I know is under investigation for this happening to other people with the rogue. I need something done about this and I can't get any help.from nissan or any nissan dealer, not even the dealerni bought my car at. This is becoming a head ache and I might have to see about starting a Class action lawsuit against them. Not supplying the parts and forcing me to have work dome that doesn't need to be done. Help please if you can!@

After car is in park and idle for 20+ minutes the car begins to smell like fumes. Caused bad migraines and nausea - having to exit the car and leave the doors open for 30 minutes to remove the smell.

These warning lights always come up-DAILY. No matter if it is hot or cold out. I am worried that they will not work if/when I actually needed them to. I am scheduling an appointment with NISSAN. Nothing has been looked at on it besides my normal oil change/check ups. I have a 7 month old and it scares me that I am not in a safe vehicle.

I have a 2021 Nissan Rogue and have had numerous problems with it since the purchase. My current problem is that the back hatch/trunk is leaking when it rains, water is coming through. The back hatch/trunk will also open and not stay open, it begins to automatically close unless you press the button so it will not close on you. The warning lights have also began coming on again stating that driving assistance is not available. I also lose power to the display screen on the inside and it goes dark. The nissan place where I live is aware and I have an appointment on Tuesday of this month. I have asked them in the past about recalls on my vehicle and they state that my vehicle has no recalls, I have also checked the site and it states my VIN is not included in the recall even though I feel like I have had so many problems with this car. In the past, I have already had to have my alternator replaced and a new battery. This is my first experience owning a Nissan, in the past I had a toyota and in the future I will go back to a toyota. I will not own another Nissan, my experience has not been a good one with this vehicle.

Roof rails are leaking onto A pillar curtain air bags and causing headliner to become saturated above the A pillers on both sides of the car. Water is also getting onto electrical lighting in vanity mirrors. Found a TSB on this, but also found there is a massive problem with this and it should be a recall. Multiple people who own rogues from this year are having this issue. Water could cause damage to airbags, mold in headliner, and electrical issues with upper roof controls and lighting. Made appointment with shop and will present the TSB when I get there.
