For most of 2025 and now into April 2026, I have been unable to use my car’s electric capabilities. This is due to active recalls for which no permanent repair is available. Temporary fixes have not resolved these issues. Thus, for an extended period of time, a primary feature of my car, a feature for which I purchased this vehicle, has been unavailable to me. I want to be clear: •The defect involves a major advertised and purchased function of the vehicle (plug-in hybrid operation); •The condition has persisted for a year; •Neither Lincoln nor the dealership have provided a reliable repair or accurate timeline for resolution; •Interim measures have failed to restore functionality.

NHTSA #11732248

This correspondence comes to you in regard to Safety Recall Notice 24S79 / NHTSA Recall 24V954. I received a notice in February of this year from Lincoln regarding our vehicle (VIN [XXX] )- a 2021 Lincoln Corsair Plug-In Hybrid. The notice instructs us to cease charging the high voltage battery until further notice. The recall notification states that further charging the battery could result in a vehicle fire. The notice finally states that a resolution and parts will be available during the second quarter, which is now. Unfortunately, to date I have heard nothing from Lincoln. As we are both retired , my wife and I purchased a Plug-In Hybrid to help save money on gasoline. For the past three (going on four) months, we have had to pay for gasoline for every mile we have driven. Additionally each day that passes is another day less we have remaining on the original warranty. It would be greatly appreciated if you could respond to this request letting us know when this issue will be resolved. We also ask that Lincoln be obligated to extend a cash penalty to cover the cost of the last four months of gasoline purchases, and finally, to extend the manufacturer's warranty on the battery components to a lifetime warranty - in order for us to feel comfortable in the resolution offered to fix the issue. 2021 LINCOLN CORSAIR- Consumer states: " At the suggestion of James 0., I reported an important issue with Ford Motor Company in which a serious injury was inadvertently caused on December 2022, due to the use of two key fobs at the same time involving a 2021 Lincoln Corsair. Two key fobs were present when my husband was siting in the drivers seat with the engine running, and I firmly grabbed the handle of the back right door. With a key fob hooked on my belt bag, the door locked unexpectedly, and I fell back on cement, seriously injuring m) left hand, requiring surgery. According to more than one Lincoln dealer service manager, the presence of two keys confuses the computer and should not be used. There is no indication of this kind of problem in the user's manual. This situation has been reported to the OGC (Office of General Counsel), and we are waiting to hear from the Engineering department by next Tuesday, June 27th. We would like to speak with a supervisor further in this regard. In addition, we were referred to the Federal Trade Commission to report this issue. Any assistance would be great be greatly appreciated."

The transmission (possibly the start/stop) jerks and is intermittent. When coming out of the stop, the acceleration is sputtering. The dealer said the problem is known to Ford but there is not yet a fix. The vehicle has less than 10000 miles travelled.

THE MAIN CABIN HEATING SYSTEM DOES NOT REACH AND MAINTAIN DESIRED TEMPERATURE SETTINGS WHETHER IN AUTO MODE OR IN A MANUAL SELECTION. HEATED STEERING WHEEL HEATS UP MOMENTARILY AND THEN COOLS DOWN EVEN THOUGH THE BUTTON IS STILL ON. DEALER TECHNICIANS WERE ABLE TO RECREATE THE SAME ON OTHER CORSAIRS ON LOT. MY OPINION THINKS IT LIES IN THE COMPUTER MODULE THAT CONTROLS THESE FUNCTIONS AND MAY NEED TO RE=PROGRAMMED. HAVE NOT TRIED THE A/C MODE AS WE ARE IN LATE WINTER. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN THE LAST 30+ DAYS AND ONLY HAVE 600 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. MY PREVIOUS LINCOLN MKC WAS EQUIPPED SIMILARLY AND NEVER HAD THESE ISSUES IN 3 YEARS.

The backup camera gets a blue screen. It was repaired via a recall, however it still occurs while backing up.

I took my car in on 2/22/23 to fix the second back up camera recall. However on the night of 2/23/23 the whole screen went blue when put in reverse, and on the morning of 2/24/23 just the rear camera went blue. In both cases I fixed the issue by turning off and restarting the car.

NHTSA #11508902

The backup camera turns blue and makes it unusable. I took the car to fix this under a safety recall. However it is still not fixed. This has been going on for 6 months which is unacceptable. Both the dealer and Lincoln (Ford) says I will be contacted when a fix is available. As I said it has been over six months and they still say that are working on it. Unfortunately it will probably take a kid to get run over before something is done.

While driving on the highway my vehicle experienced a sudden severe loss of power that led you a metallic rattling noise under the front of the vehicle and smoke coming out the exhaust pipes. Took it to a Ford dealership for diagnosis and repair however, it recommendations were long engine block replacement due to coolant intrusion from a cylinder wall cracking due to a manufacturer defect that is a widely known and has a large class action lawsuit. Well, I’m being told I have to pay $11,000 out-of-pocket because my vin is not included in the active recalls of the vehicles of the same making and model as mine. The issues with my vehicle is not caused from wear and tear is a manufacturer defect and should be included to be repaired being that this vehicle is less than five years old under 100,000 miles and I’ve only had the vehicle since November 2024.

Causing a safety concern for me and other drivers. Confirmed by a dealer. Inspected by the dealer. I experienced irregular transmission shifts and shuttering at times. The hands free sensor on the liftgate will randomly allow the door to open with the key as far as 20 feet or more from the vehicle. The liftgate opened on its own from the motion of a garage door, becoming entangled with the garage door and damaging the door. The door has opened on its own at least twelve times without a person standing directly in front of the rear bumper making a kicking motion. Ford has failed to provide any technical specifications for the door, including the acceptable distance at which the key must be from the vehicle for motion to activate the door and the distance at which motion must occur. As a result the vehicle cannot be safely stored in a garage. The vehicle poses a safety hazard of striking a passerby who may walk behind it when the key is nearby, and has opened at least three times in such a manner. Ford basically states if the door opens at all then it is working and they do not have any specifications for door operation that they can test against. Video of one unpredictable door opening attached.

My 2021 Lincoln Corsair has 20,691 miles on it. At a dealer visit on June 9, 2025 for an oil change and routine maintenance I was told by the dealer that the rear brakes needed replacement. A friend of mine with a 2022 Corsair with 18000 miles on it has the same issue with rear brakes being worn out. This appears to be a common issue with late model Escapes, Corsairs, and Ford Edges. Rear brakes should never wear out in 20K miles unless the calipers are sticking which is what is happening. This appears to be a safety issue as the rear brakes could fail at any time with these low mileage vehicles.

A manufacturing defect in one or more of the high voltage battery cells may cause the cell to develop an internal short circuit. Which could cause loss of power and increase the risk of a crash. It also states that battery thermal venting potentially resulting in the car to start on FIRE. There are 2 recalls that could result in the car starting on Fire. Lincoln is anticipating a remedy to be available by the end of June. The remedy right now is not to plug in the car to charge the high voltage battery. This car was purchased for the reason it could be plugged in and use electric not gas. There is a 3rd recall for the long block. So, the whole purpose of this vehicle was to save on gas. Which for 6 months is NOT possible.

Went to unlock vehicle but found it was unlocked. Tried to start car and noticed there was nothing in the car that worked, interior lights, dashboard monitors, all computer functions were out and could not open the rear hatch. Called Lincoln assist and they sent AAA. They tested battery and it was good, tried a jump start and nothing happened. Saw on the internet (Lincolnforum.org) that disconnecting the battery and reconnect the entire system will return to normal. Tried this with the tech from AAA and it worked. 2 hours on the road after the incident stopped for gas and shut off the car and when I tried to start the car the whole incident was back. Again had to disconnect battery and reconnect and it returned to normal. Please find out what is causing this before it shuts down while driving???

The front airbags did not deploy in a front end crash on 12/17/2021. GEICO has the vehicle at their salvage lot after they declared it a total loss. Lincoln has been notified and their response was to have a dealer check it out. However, when I contacted a dealer, they said that is not something they do either. So I have no idea where to go next since no one at Lincoln will take a look at it. The vehicle was only 2 months old with 5031 miles so it did not have any warning lights or anything else wrong with the vehicle. If more information is needed, please let me know and I can provide it.

This 2021 Lincoln Corsair is equipped with Auto Start/Stop technology. Auto Start/Stop Technology automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a full stop and idles for more than a few seconds. Once the driver puts pressure on the accelerator, then the engine turns back on. It's simple, and some say it can save between 3-5% of gas in stop-and-go traffic. My car while stopped with the engine off, at a red light for example, after approximately 45 seconds, it will re-start itself and lunge forward. It does it every time, when you are stopped over 45 seconds and the engine is off. ( In Auto start/stop mode). Lincoln Dealership has verified this problem by driving the car and confirming the problem, but does not know what is causing the engine to re-start itself. If your foot is not on the brake, the car will lunge forward and strike what ever is in front of the vehicle. If Auto Hold Technology is on, the vehicle will still lunge but will not move forward. This vehicle was first purchased on December 11, 2021 and as this date 07/08/2022 is still lunging forward when in Auto Start/Stop mode. Vehicle had about 18 miles on it when purchased. Currently it has approximately 3,400 miles.

While driving on the freeway with the cruise set at 70MPH, the sign recognition software all of a sudden picked up the 35MPH speed limit from the adjacent service drive and abruptly slowed the vehicle down to 35MPH. This happened on another freeway which had a service drive so there is definitely some issue with the sign recognition software. This issue occurs in the same location on these freeways so it is repeatable. Reported to the dealer but they can't find an issue and have never heard of this. I am reporting this in case other vehicles could be affected as it could be very dangerous in heavy traffic to abruptly slow down that dramatically.
