On the morning of [XXX] my wife was driving her 2025 Range Rover a short distance when an electrical fault came on the dash reading "stop safely Electrical fault detected". Upon turning into our driveway right after that warning came up, a variety of other warnings came on the dash including a transmission overheat warning. The car then started losing electrical functions and as she pulled into the garage. The vehicle was half way in the garage, my wife pressed the park button and tried to exit the vehicle. She was not aware that the park function no longer worked and that the car had completely lost all power and functions. The vehicle began rolling backwards due to the grade of the garage and she had to try to physically stop the vehicle or it would crush her between the door and garage. After attempting to physically stop it she realized she couldn't and jumped back in the car and applied the brakes. Her back was injured in the process of trying to hold the vehicle from rolling. She called me and had to sit in the vehicle for 20 minutes until I could get home to chock the wheels and get her out of the car. Zeigler Land Rover out of Schaumburg is where the vehicle was purchased new in November. When I reached out to them they claimed they never had this issue before. The dealership repeatedly asked my wife and I in seperate text messages "if we could describe where the smoke came from". No smoke was ever seen or reported from either of us. The supplied a Range Rover Sport loaner vehicle a few days after our Range Rover was picked up. They continued to tell me that they have never seen this issue before and are working with Land Rover to try and identify it. On Tuesday [XXX] the loaner vehicle displayed the same message "stop safely, electrical fault detected". She parked the vehicle and hasn't driven it since. The dealership didn't seem concerned with this happening again and brought us yet another loaner. No progress has been made on our car. At 613 miles, this 2025 Land Rover Range Rover SE experienced simultaneous brake fluid loss from the rear right wheel area, partial loss of engine power, and multiple warning lights including “Stability Control Not Available” and “Restricted Performance.” The vehicle required emergency flatbed towing. DFW Land Rover Dealer inspection identified damage at two points on the brake line near the rear right wheel. The damage shows longitudinal abrasion scoring along the line consistent with chafing against a vehicle component during normal operation, not external impact. The underbody shield in the same area shows no deformation or penetration that would be expected from an external object. The vehicle has been driven only in normal urban conditions with no incidents, off-road use, or known impacts. The dealership has attributed the damage to external influence despite no supporting physical evidence. Warranty coverage has been denied pending escalation to Land Rover North America. A brake line failure of this nature at highway speed could result in catastrophic brake loss and serious injury.

While traveling from Los Angeles, California to Tucson, Arizona with one passenger, the vehicle experienced a sudden and dangerous loss of multiple critical systems while driving at highway speed. Earlier during the trip the vehicle stopped in Quartzsite, Arizona. When attempting to re-enter the vehicle, the key initially did not unlock the vehicle. The driver contacted Range Rover roadside assistance and asked for guidance, but no explanation or solution was provided. After several attempts the vehicle eventually unlocked and started. Approximately one hour later, while driving eastbound on Interstate 10 at highway speed after dark, a yellow battery warning light appeared on the dashboard. Shortly afterward a red battery warning and a red triangle warning appeared. Within minutes of these warnings, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and the transmission shifted into neutral. Immediately afterward, the vehicle lost electrical power and the dashboard and exterior lights went dark. At the same time, steering assistance and brake assist were lost, making it extremely difficult to control the vehicle. The driver had difficulty steering the vehicle and slowing it safely while traveling on a busy highway with heavy truck traffic behind. Because steering assistance and brake assist were lost, the driver had very limited ability to maneuver the vehicle safely. The driver was able to slowly reduce speed and move across several lanes of traffic to the right shoulder of the highway, stopping near Exit 109 (Sun Valley Parkway) on Interstate 10. The vehicle stopped approximately 300 feet before the exit ramp. Because the vehicle had lost electrical power and exterior lighting, the vehicle was difficult for other drivers to see in the dark. Several large trucks passed close to the stopped vehicle. The driver used a mobile phone light to signal the vehicle’s presence and reduce the risk of being struck. The vehicle was later towed to an authorized Range Rover dealership in Tucs

While driving on the highway, a strong burning smell began inside the vehicle, similar to a brush or forest fire. At first it was unclear whether the smell was coming from outside, but when traffic slowed, smoke was seen coming from the driver-side wheel well and from under the front hood. No warning lights, alerts, temperature warnings, or malfunction messages appeared before or during the smoke. The vehicle was moved off the highway to a side road. Upon opening the hood, light but steady smoke continued from the engine area. The coolant reservoir was full and there were no visible leaks. The vehicle continued to smoke consistently for approximately 50 minutes while waiting for a tow truck. After the vehicle was loaded onto the flatbed and transported back toward the highway, an orange glow became visible inside the cabin, indicating an active fire had started inside the interior. The tow truck driver immediately pulled over, used a fire extinguisher, and unloaded the vehicle from the flatbed for safety. Smoke increased significantly from the cabin and wheels. Both white and black smoke were present. Police and fire department personnel responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was a nearly new plug-in hybrid with low mileage, and there were no dashboard warnings or prior symptoms of failure. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it appears related to a malfunction involving the electrical, battery, thermal-management, or propulsion systems. The event presented a significant safety hazard to occupants, the tow operator, and other motorists.

This is a plug-in hybrid vehicle. Twice now the car has powered on but would not go into gear or move. Selecting drive did nothing and pressing the accelerator had no effect, leaving the vehicle completely immobile. In both instances I was left stranded and had to have the vehicle towed (once on 10/10/25 and again on 11/11/25). This did not happen while driving in traffic, but it created a safety concern because the car was unable to move when it should have. The issue has not been explained or resolved through service.

windshield, I cracked my 3rd windshield in 18 months and approx 7 windshields in 10 years. I replace this vehicle annually with the identical make and model range rover. The smallest stone chips the windshield and the chip turns into long cracks across the windshield within hours to a couple of days. I have alerted Land Rover to this.

Unsatisfactory Review for 2025 Range Rover SE I purchased a 2025 Range Rover SE in November 2024 for nearly $200,000, expecting a luxury vehicle with reliability to match its price tag. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. In December 2024, just one month after purchase, the vehicle completely died while I was driving on the highway—a terrifying and unacceptable failure for a brand-new car. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, where it has remained ever since. What has made this experience even worse is Range Rover’s appalling customer service. The company’s “repurchasing” agreement process, which I initiated nearly two months ago, is lengthy, convoluted, and appears designed to disadvantage the customer at every step. Despite repeated attempts to get answers, there has been no clear timeline for resolution, no updates from anyone with decision-making authority, and absolutely no way to escalate the matter to management. For a vehicle in this price range, I expected premium customer care, but what I’ve received is the opposite: silence, frustration, and the sense that Range Rover cares more about protecting itself than making things right for its customers. Until Range Rover makes significant improvements to the reliability of its vehicles and its customer service, I cannot recommend this brand to anyone. Buyers beware—you may end up with a luxury-priced lemon and no way to resolve it.
