The wiring to the power steering caused several lights to come on in the vehicle and the Jeep stopped running in the middle of the road. My jeep only runs when the wire for the power steering is unhooked leaving me with no power steering. Wire is also HOT. I'm trying to get the KNOWN recall completed at a dealership so I'm not without my vehicle. It has already been 2 weeks trying to figure out the problem. Jeep does not want to authorize the repair because there is no known fix for the recall yet and they have not issued instructions to the dealership. This is unfair that I should pay for this repair or diagnostic when there is a know problem the dealership should be capable of accessing. I need my vehicle fixed ASAP.

COMPONENT/SYSTEM THAT FAILED — AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION: The electrical system failed at the under-hood fuse box / power distribution center (the component sometimes referred to as the TIPM), located near the battery. The vehicle started roughly, shut off within about 3 seconds, would not stay running, and emitted a plastic/electrical burning smell from that area. The vehicle is currently at Oxendale Jeep in Cottonwood, AZ and is available for inspection upon request. A photo of the damage from service advisor Jason Smith and a dealer pre-service inspection document are also available. HOW SAFETY WAS PUT AT RISK: The vehicle would not run and stranded me in an unfamiliar parking lot in Jerome, AZ. The electrical burning smell created a fire risk. A responding firefighter, a police officer, and online guidance all advised not to restart the vehicle due to the danger of fire. REPRODUCED/CONFIRMED BY DEALER: Not fully. Oxendale's pre-service inspection states they could not perform actual diagnostics due to the mechanical damage and burnt components. The dealer documented the damage but has not reproduced or confirmed a root cause. INSPECTED BY MANUFACTURER, POLICE, INSURANCE, OR OTHERS: A local firefighter and a local police officer observed the burning smell at the scene. The jeep dealership service advisor inspected and documented the damage. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or an insurance representative. WARNING LAMPS/MESSAGES/SYMPTOMS BEFORE FAILURE: No prior warning lamps or messages before the incident. Symptoms first appeared at the time of failure on Friday, [XXX]: a rough start, immediate shut-off, and an electrical/plastic burning smell. Dash lights and electrical power stayed on with info on dash don’t remember wording, but the vehicle would not remain running. Instrument cluster failure. I completed a short trip wherein it was working fine. Went back out several hours later to return home at midnight. The instrument cluster had no power and did not function. I am currently driving with no speedometer, no tachometer, no fuel gauge. I am flying blind because of a known defect in Jeep instrument clusters (NHTSA report 24V652000) between 2020-and 2024. Recall 30b was used to narrowly target other jeeps...but mine somehow does not qualify meaning it is my problem...though it is a well enough known issue that they have a recall on other instrument clusters just failing. As we know from Fight Club they have no intent to do recalls on anything other than the least cost to themselves: “Wherever I'm going, I'll be there to apply the formula. I'll keep the secret intact. It's simple arithmetic. It's a story problem. If a new car built by my company leaves Chicago traveling west at 60 miles per hour, and the rear differential locks up, and the car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside, does my company initiate a recall? You take the population of vehicles in the field (A) and multiple it by the probable rate of failure (B), then multiply the result by the average cost of an out-of-court settlement (C). A times B times C equals X. This is what it will cost if we don't initiate a recall. If X is greater than the cost of a recall, we recall the cars and no one gets hurt. If X is less than the cost of a recall, then we don't recall.” ― [XXX] lub [XXX] I [XXX] (B)(6) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Car partially charged and when driving feels like it’s going to stall out. Seems like whatever update Stellantis did to hide the 4xe issues is impacting my ability to safely get around

The manufacturer refuses to process the 68c recall. The car was purchased from a dealer in Canada in 2021. I purchased it in 2025 and imported it to Poland. Currently, the car is registered and used in Poland. The dealership refused to process it. He suggested I take the car to North America and have the recall performed there. It's possible to have the software related to the 68c recall installed at an independent repair shop in Poland, but if the battery needs to be replaced, Jeep won't do it. I tried contacting Jeep in the US to ask how to resolve this, but there's no email address or online form available. Given zip code is incorrect since this form do not allow to use forein zipcode. Please contact me via email address. Regards [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My Jeep 4xE popped a check engine light and I lost anything connected to the HV battery. The Jeep was lurching and driving strangely. The dealer said it required a new HV battery that was replaced under warranty. Just a week later the Jeep is recalled because these batteries could catch fire and I can no longer charge my vehicle or park in my garage. This means Jeep installed an HV battery that they knew was unsafe. This Jeep had a similar recall last year at the same time and received the “fix” which turns out did nothing to actually fix the issue with the HV batteries. I have lost confidence in this vehicle being safe for me and my family. This is dangerous and unacceptable!

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System). The contact stated that a recall repair for the battery was previously completed in 2023. The contact called a dealer and the manufacturer and was advised that the remedy was not yet available and to follow the instructions not to park the vehicle near any structures or other vehicles, and not to charge the battery due to the risk of a fire. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.

My 2021 Jeep wrangler (VIN: [XXX] ) experienced an instrument cluster failure. I took the jeep to the local Jeep dealer for maintenance and verified the instrument cluster (IC) needs to be replaced. This issue is present for other 2021 Jeep wranglers (same make/model) and there is an active recall for them (NHTSA ID: 21V949000). However, my Jeep is not currently listed under the recall but has the same exact issue and requires IC replacement. ubject: Urgent Safety Concern – Jeep 4xe Battery Recall Repair Failure Hello, A few months ago, my Jeep 4xe was brought in for the battery recall. The dealer informed me that the issue was resolved, but did not provide any clear details on what exactly was done. On [XXX], while leaving the U.S. Bank and making a left turn, my Jeep suddenly stopped in the middle of the road with a warning message: “Hybrid battery failed, cannot maintain speed.” The vehicle then crawled forward at a snail’s pace, even though the engine was still running and my foot was fully on the throttle. Fortunately, there was no speeding car coming from my left—otherwise this could have caused a serious accident, injury, or even death. Eventually, I was able to pull over to the right side, but the Jeep completely stopped again, creating a major traffic backup with constant honking. I was in a panic trying to call for roadside assistance. After about 5–10 minutes, I restarted the Jeep, pressed the brakes, and it finally began moving again. This was an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. If it had occurred on the highway, the outcome could have been catastrophic. I am urgently requesting that you contact the dealer immediately to investigate what went wrong with the recall repair, and why the issue was not properly resolved. Please instruct them to take immediate action to permanently fix this problem—whether that requires replacing the faulty battery or addressing any other underlying issue. I need assurance that I can drive this vehicle with peace of mind, without fearing for my safety or the safety of others. Thank you for your prompt attention. I look forward to your quick response and resolution. Sincerely, [XXX] VIN No: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The engine/power shut off while I was driving on the interstate (70mph). I had to use the remaining momentum to pull over to safety and get it towed to the dealer. It ended up the battery died, but I wasn’t notified in advance before this incident.

Started Jeep dash lights did not function. Restarted Jeep and while driving noticed no compass reading & clock was incorrect. Both began to show proper readings in app 2 minutes. Checked all battery connections positive & ground on main battery. Second battery not accessible.Next day started Jeep clock off by several hours again. Corrected itself in a few minutes again. This occurred again a few days later. Fearful of short or battery issue that could shut down vehicle power while in motion or cause fire. Dealer replaced both batteries app 1 year ago & serviced Jeep with multi point inspection app 5 days before issues started.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and occupied at the residence, while attempting to charge the vehicle, the battery failed to charge. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the recall repair failed to fix the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure occurred after the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 73,000.

Someone knocked saying the 2021 jeep wrangler 4XE was smoking. The vehicle was filled with smoke. When the back doors were opened, the interior neer the battery was all melted. A couple minutes later the vehicle burst into flames.

The video for my backup camera became intermittent, then stopped working. I brought it into the shop. They say the camera is not the problem and that it is either a connection under the dash or a radio problem. The next diagnosis step will take 3 hours and $675 just to take the dash apart. This is a safety issue, a defect in manufacture, and not related to wear and tear. In researching online, this is appears to be a complaint that a number of others have had.

Instrument Cluster Panel failure while driving. There was a recall for this part in many other jeeps in 2024, it’s time to throw another recall for this one as well. There are so many failures that the part is on backorder, my Jeep has been sitting at the dealership waiting for this part for 5 months now and there is still no expected date. My Jeep has been sitting on the lot waiting to be fixed for longer than I ever got to drive it after purchasing. Cant take it elsewhere because the odometer doesn’t function.

Fire risk. Recalls for software update. I’ve done the software update once already after my jeep wouldn’t start and had to be towed to the dealership. My engine light came on again along with a stabilizer bar warning light. The dealership said they need to do another software update again, but that there’s still no real fix for the issue. I’m dropping it off again tonight. The fact that I have to do this and to be told there’s still no real fix is ridiculous. I’d really like to get rid of my jeep at this point, but I feel stuck because who’s going to buy it with all these unresolved issues?

Jeep is saying “service shifter” when we plug it into the diagnostic scanner it says can bus. We’ve replaced the can bus and a month later “service shifter “ light comes back on and again scanner is reading can bus. When this service shifter warning comes on the jeep loses power steering.

Death wobble almost caused me to go head on with a semi at 57mph.. it doesn’t matter the speed either . I’ve had it to two different dealerships they replace the steering stabilizer that made it worse . They tell me it doesn’t do it when they have it .It’s been aligned 4 times replaced tires and it’s getting worse. Something needs to be done I know several people with this issue. And I know there was a recall on other years for this problem

Safety Concern – Steering Instability / Death Wobble – 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara To Whom It May Concern, I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with approximately 30,000 miles. I am writing to formally document and request a resolution for a recurring and severe steering instability commonly referred to as “death wobble.” The vehicle experiences violent front-end oscillation after encountering normal road conditions (e.g., highway speeds and minor road irregularities). This condition poses a significant safety risk to me, passengers, and other drivers. This issue has been widely documented in Jeep Wrangler models and addressed in various Technical Service Bulletins concerning steering dampers, ball joints, track bars, and front suspension components. Given the known history of this condition in Jeep vehicles, I am requesting: A full diagnostic inspection of all steering and suspension components. Confirmation of any applicable Technical Service Bulletins. Repair or replacement of defective components at no cost. Written documentation of findings and repairs. This vehicle has been properly maintained and has low mileage for its model year. A violent steering oscillation at highway speed is not normal wear and tear — it is a safety defect. If this issue cannot be resolved under warranty or goodwill assistance, I will pursue escalation through Stellantis Customer Care, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and applicable consumer protection or lemon law provisions. I am requesting written confirmation of how this matter will be addressed. Sincerely, Cindy Rossbach 29872 Milby Drive Easton, MD 21601 410-829-2098 ccr29872@yahoo.com VIN: 1C4HJXENOMW771106

NHTSA #11709414
For a few weeks prior to 12-21-2025, I've experienced minor Jeep "death wobble" (suspension issue) at highway speeds when encountering an irregularity (bump) in the road surface. On 12-21-2025, I experienced moderate Jeep "death wobble" at around 60 mph (several times). On a desert 2 lane highway, I was seriously in danger of running off the road to the right (crashing into rock faces bigger than the car) or running into oncoming traffic to the left. I was about an hour away from home and was able to reproduce the problem. I found that the issue was minimized if I kept it under 58 mph. Unfortunately, this motivated many drivers to dangerously pass me. The next day, I took it to the local off-road mechanic and they determined it was a worn tie-rod and recommended replacing the tie rod and installing/upgrading the steering stabilizer. From what I have read during my research is that those are band aid approaches to a more serious engineering/design issue with the Jeep Wrangler. I've further learned that Fiat-Chrysler (or the current owner) has continued to address the issue that has been problematic for decades. There are no recalls for my vehicle and the relevant TSBs I could find apply to older models (latest I saw was 2020 JL). However, it's clear the issue has not been resolved on my more current model (2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JL). The vehicle is available for your inspection.

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler has the well known "Death Wobble". Jeep isn't taking this very serious safety concern seriously. When speed increases to 70 mph the jeep shakes uncontrollably and you must slow down almost to a stop to regulate again. This should be a recall! Huge safety issue. If you google jeep death wobble you could read for days how many jeep owners are experiencing this issue. There apparently is a recall for older jeeps, but unfortunately jeep did not fix the issue and the 2021 jeeps are also affected. It's time to put a recall on the 2021 jeep wranglers and fix the death wobble.

I am writing to formally express my frustration and concern regarding an ongoing issue with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. For several years, I have experienced severe shaking in my vehicle when driving at speeds between 50-70 mph after hitting a minor bump. The vibrations are so severe that it feels like the vehicle is going to shred itself in half. The issue has gotten worse over the years. Once this occurs, it requires rapid deceleration to 40 mph for the issue to subside. Most concerning is that on [XXX], this shaking occurred twice while driving in heavy traffic on [XXX] with my [XXX] son in the back seat. The severity of the issue poses an undeniable safety risk—not just to me and my passengers, but to others on the road as well. Given Jeep’s reputation for durability and off-road capability, it is deeply disappointing that such a serious issue is not being addressed with more urgency. After the event on [XXX], I initially addressed this issue with a Jeep service center at Dellen Chrysler Jeep and Dodge in Greenfield, IN. I was informed that the problem was related to the steering damper. However, despite recognizing the issue, my vehicle has yet to receive the necessary replacement due to a nationwide shortage of the part more than 2 months later. I implore someone from Dellen, Jeep, and/or NHTSB to do the right thing and properly warn owners about this serious safety issue. As a consumer and Jeep fan, it is unacceptable to me that: 1) A vehicle fails this catastrophically during normal driving, putting the public at risk. 2)Jeep doesn’t have sufficient inventory to fix the problems. 3)Jeep isn’t doing anything to make owners aware of this seriousness of the issue. Death Wobble/uncontrollable shaking when vehicle hits any kind of inconsistencies in the road, especially on the freeway. Yes it’s available for inspection upon request. I have taken it to the local Jeep dealership mechanics and Les Schwab auto center to have the problem inspected/fixed and both have told me “everything looks fine” but it is absolutely not fine when I have to put my hazards on and pull over to almost a complete stop to get the shaking to stop on the freeway. It’s terrifying. No lights or warnings happen before the incident occurs.

While driving on roads I would characterize as good, Our 2021 Jeep Wrangle has exhibited what is widely know as the "death wobble". 1st time was when vehicle has approximately 10,000 miles and it was noted as being severe, dangerous and very scary. 2nd and 3rd time time and with the same road conditions, it occurred. Mileage was 20,000 and 21,000. On March 13th, and with 23,702 miles, we serviced the vehicle to address a known issue with water pump coolant leak and I explained the front wheel steering "wobble issue". They reviewed, test drove and found no issues with it. 3 miles after picking up vehicle, and at approximate 50 MPH, the unit went into a major wobble condition. I immediately returned to the dealership. Technician recommended steering stabilizer and I was told 9/10 times this fixes the "shake". Service team also explained this is a fairly widespread concern with Jeep Wrangler. I consider this a major risk to me, my family and other drivers around me/vehicle. Only my wife and I have experienced the condition. Dealer was unable to duplicate. No other warning lights or fail conditions are available. On YouTUBE, search Jeep Death Wobble and you will be able to see and witness the condition. Its spot-on. Links below. The power steering system experienced a sudden failure while the vehicle was in motion. Steering assist was lost without warning, causing a significant and immediate increase in steering effort. This created a serious safety hazard and I nearly lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle is a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with approximately 31,000 miles. There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. The loss of power steering occurred unexpectedly while driving. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Jeep dealership, where the issue was confirmed. The dealer stated the failure was related to two communication bus lines associated with the power steering system. The dealer is refusing warranty coverage and has quoted approximately $1,000 for repair. The failure directly impacted my ability to safely control the vehicle and posed a risk of crash, injury, or death to myself and others on the road. The vehicle is currently available for inspection upon request. The issue has been confirmed by the dealer, and no inspection by the manufacturer or other third parties has occurred at this time.

Driving on the highway at 60 - 65 mph, and almost lost control of the steering. The steering wheel was violently shaking/vibrating, and I had to pull over. It's called the "death wobble" online. I had to get off the highway and drive below 60mph to manage the steering. I went to the dealership, and they "found that excessive movement in both ball joints of the drag link assembly was caused by air being trapped inside the steering damper." Both were replaced. The vehicle had only 47,800 miles and had never been driven off-road.

EV Battery recall without resolution. After receiving the recall notice and scheduling service at the dealership, the Jeep Was kept for 6 weeks and they replaced both the EV battery and the starting 12v battery. After driving the vehicle for less than a week, the EV battery started making gurgling and bubbling sounds after starting and continued for about 30 sec - 1 minute after turning off power. No message or warning lights have indicated any type of issue. The dealership said the car is not safe to drive and asked me to have it towed to the shop. I have had to pay almost $3,000 out of pocket for a rental because I use my car for work. My reimbursement is still processing and my vehicle is back in the shop. Hello, I am writing to escalate an urgent issue involving my vehicle recall and my scheduled shipment. I have paid over three thousand dollars to Montway as my broker, and at this point all involved parties have failed to provide a clear solution. I cannot move forward without immediate support. My Jeep is experiencing a recurring battery recall for the seventh time. This is a product defect that is outside of my control. My vehicle is scheduled to ship through Pasha in the coming days, and the recall must be resolved before drop off. Pasha has informed me that I cannot keep the vehicle at the port before the appointment window, and Montway has not provided any realistic guidance on where the vehicle can be safely held. I hired Montway to help coordinate this process. I paid for professional support. Being told to find a holding location myself while coordinating a safety recall is not acceptable. I need all parties to provide real solutions and support. I need the following: Written confirmation from Jeep that the recall service will be completed at no cost to me and that my VIN is being handled as a priority case. Written confirmation from Montway that my shipment schedule remains active and that I will not be charged additional fees caused by this recall. Clear guidance on the correct next steps for temporary holding or drop off timing so I can comply with Pasha requirements without further disruption. I am not responsible for additional fee that has been involved due to the recall alert from 2 days ago, just a few days before my vessel departs. I have now been informed that I may need to pay additional costs due to delays and complications caused by this recall. I need to make it very clear that I am not responsible for any extra fees related to this situation. On 7/13/25, my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with approximately 50,000 miles on it spontaneously caught fire as I was driving down the highway. The fire appeared to start in the engine compartment and very quickly moved to the entire front end of the vehicle. I pulled over on the side of the road and managed to safely exit the vehicle without physical injury. In minutes, the entire vehicle was consumed in flames. The fire department arrived within 10 minutes. When I departed the scene of the incident, fire fighters were still spraying water on the vehicle. After leaving the scene, I went to the hospital for psychological injury related to the incident. The investigation into the fire is currently underway. I do not have additional information about the cause or specific location of the fire. The vehicle is currently at a tow yard and is a total loss. It is nearly unrecognizable aside from the frame and a few components in the far rear. I am in the process of documenting all upgrades and modifications. Since it was fully built for off-roading and overlanding, it is a long and challenging task to take inventory of every part. Approximately 3 months before the incident, the vehicle was towed to a local CDJR dealership for a factory recall, where the entire fuel system was replaced. There were no other issues with the vehicle.

Since purchasing my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the vehicle’s radio system has been defective, creating a significant safety hazard. The original radio (Radio 1) had a short that drained the battery and was replaced by a dealer. The replacement radio (Radio 2) has never functioned properly: the Bluetooth system fails to stay paired, requiring manual re-pairing every time the vehicle is started. Multiple software updates have been attempted, but the issue persists unchanged. This defect prevents reliable hands-free phone operation, which is critical for safe driving. My wife uses this vehicle daily to transport our children to school, and the lack of a functional hands-free system forces her to either forgo phone use entirely or risk distracted driving, violating Georgia’s hands-free law (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-241), which prohibits holding a phone while driving. This malfunction endangers my family and other road users, as it compromises the driver’s ability to communicate safely in emergencies or navigate without distraction. Repair History: * Initial Defect: Radio 1 shorted and drained the battery; replaced with Radio 2 (date unknown, within first year of ownership). * Ongoing Issue: Radio 2’s Bluetooth has required re-pairing every drive since installation, despite multiple dealer visits and software updates. * Recent Action: Dropped off vehicle on April 11, 2025, at Rick Hendrick Duluth (mileage: 48,177). Dealer staff (Heather Kratky and Matt Otis) stated Jeep has not authorized a fix and considers the issue unresolvable, leaving the defect unaddressed. * Mopar Escalation: Escalated to Mopar. Safety Impact: The persistent Bluetooth failure eliminates hands-free capability, a standard safety feature in modern vehicles. This defect directly contributes to distracted driving risks, particularly in a family vehicle used for school transportation.

The engine is overheating at idle speed and there's a phamtom coolant leak. We just bought this in January and are already having major issues. Seems to be a problem with the plastic coolant reservoir being near a very hot engine.
NHTSA #11731035
Jeep has a design defect in vehicles equipped with the 2.0L turbocharged engine where the coolant reservoir is positioned directly adjacent to the turbocharger and turbo heat source with insufficient heat shielding. Due to the constant high heat exposure, the plastic coolant reservoir and/or connecting plastic fittings degrade, warp, and become brittle over time, eventually leading to coolant leaks, erratic coolant temperature readings, and/or sudden coolant loss. This failure often occurs without warning, and many vehicles do not initially trigger a check engine light. In my case, the vehicle exhibited intermittent coolant temperature readings, abnormal fan operation, and heating inconsistencies before the leak was discovered. Multiple repair attempts are frequently made before the root cause is identified. Mechanics often replace components such as the thermostat housing, coolant temperature sensors, or related assemblies, not realizing the coolant reservoir heat damage is the underlying cause. This results in unnecessary repairs, significant consumer expense, and extended vehicle downtime. This defect poses a serious safety risk, as coolant loss can result in: •Engine overheating •Sudden loss of power •Potential engine failure while driving •Increased risk of breakdown in traffic or unsafe driving conditions Numerous owners report similar failures, indicating this is not an isolated incident but a widespread design flaw affecting Jeep vehicles equipped with the 2.0L turbo engine.Jeep has not issued a Technical Service Bulletin or recall addressing the placement of the coolant reservoir or providing guidance to technicians to inspect for heat-related degradation in this area.I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this design defect and require Jeep to issue a Technical Service Bulletin or recall addressing this. The vehicle was properly maintained and not modified and The issue occurred at relatively low mileage.

While operating the 2021 Jeep Wrangler under normal driving conditions, I experienced repeated overheating issues. A high-pitched noise was consistently heard coming from under the hood during operation. Simultaneously, the engine temperature gauge would spike to high, and the infotainment system displayed an engine overheating warning. When the vehicle is started from a cold start - the high pitch is constant. To prevent damage or risk of fire, I immediately pulled the vehicle over and allowed the engine to cool. Upon restarting, the overheating issue persisted, with the temperature gauge rising and falling erratically—up to four times during a 15-minute drive. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership service center for inspection. The following findings were documented: Coolant System: High-temperature coolant reservoir found completely empty. Low-temperature reservoir found low on coolant. Evidence of coolant leakage at multiple coolant line fittings. Engine Block: External head gasket leak observed. Pressure test confirmed leaks in coolant lines. Internal Engine Inspection: Spark plugs were removed and coolant residue was found in the combustion chambers. Cylinder walls showed damage consistent with overheating. Slightly burned valves noted during inspection. Based on the findings above, the engine has suffered critical failure due to overheating and internal coolant leakage. The combination of external gasket leaks, coolant residue in the cylinders, damaged cylinder walls, and burned valves presents a serious mechanical and safety concern. Full engine replacement is required. Estimated cost: $16,000.00 This engine failure may pose a significant safety risk due to: Sudden loss of power while driving, Potential engine fire from overheating, Exposure to steam or hot coolant under hood Risk of engine seizing while on motion.

Since we have had the high pressure fuel pump recall completed/replaced, there have been ongoing problems with the cooling system that cause overheating multiple times, on the same grade of road, during subsequent trips. The vehicle alerts and says it has overheated, and is stopped and allowed to cool off. Coolant is indeed low, but there are not any visible leaks and there is no puddling or areas where it appears to be leaking. We have had this issued looked at twice, several repairs completed, hoses replaced, reservoir replaced, and we are still having this issue. This appears to be something exclusive to the diesel motor, as we have friends with the same vehicle with gasoline engine that are not having this concern.

The primary component involved is the high-voltage charging system, specifically the charging port and connector interface. The vehicle previously experienced a confirmed failure involving a scorched charging port and a melted pin, which required replacement. The same symptoms have since returned, including heat at the charging interface and a burning odor. The vehicle is currently located at an authorized dealership and is available for inspection upon request. This condition presents a safety risk due to the potential for electrical overheating and possible fire hazard. In addition, the vehicle has experienced repeated loss of power while driving, which creates a risk in traffic conditions and could impact driver control and safety. The issue has been previously confirmed by the dealership, which replaced the charging port due to thermal damage. However, upon recurrence of similar symptoms, the dealership has refused to diagnose or service the vehicle, preventing further confirmation at this time. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealership on multiple occasions for related issues, including the prior charging system failure. The manufacturer has not directly inspected the vehicle but has been contacted for assistance. Prior to the charging system failure, symptoms included heat at the charging connector and a burning odor. The vehicle has also exhibited electrical system irregularities and repeated loss of power while driving beginning after recall-related service in or around August 2024.

Glendale Dodge (CA) is actively using Federal Fire Risk Recall 68C to fraudulently conceal a separate, critical High-Voltage hardware failure on my 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Upon intake, my vehicle’s internal VIP diagnostic scan showed an active P0E15 code (Electric Coolant Heater Failure). Per Stellantis Technical Service Bulletins, this code indicates a severe failure requiring a physical hardware replacement to ensure the high-voltage system operates safely. To avoid performing this costly warranty repair, the dealership deliberately falsified the diagnosis on Final Invoice #31349. Under Line C (Customer States Check Engine Light is On), the dealership officially recorded the cause and correction as: 'DUE TO RECALL MODULE UPDATES AND BAD BATTERY.' This is an affirmatively false written diagnosis. A dead 12V battery and a recall software update do not cause, nor do they resolve, a P0E15 High-Voltage Electric Coolant Heater failure. The dealership lied on the legal invoice to scrub the hardware defect from the record. They then applied the 68C software patch as a smokescreen, falsified the 'Date Out' to 12/26/2025 to prematurely close the federal recall ticket, and attempted to return a vehicle that remains mechanically compromised and unsafe. This is intentional warranty fraud masking a high-voltage system failure. Stellantis and its authorized repair facility are refusing to properly remedy the vehicle. The vehicle is currently held at the dealership pending an active fraud investigation by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (Case #6596-WS4PV6).

Multiple failed recalls to stop vehicle High Voltage battery fires. I've already had the battery pack replaced once and now another recall of a software flash (68c) to test the battery cells separators for damage. So again the issue is still there and this is just another band-aid to catch it before it catches fire. This has been a ongoing issue for over a year and the issue is still not properly corrected. Multiple months of no charging, no parking in garage or near other vehicles/structures just to have another band-aid of a software flash, to stop the fire before it starts doesn't make me feel safe enough to put my family in this vehicle or to still want to charge or park anywhere near other vehicles or structures. This is the same process that "fixed" this issue the last time that obviously isn't a fix at all. The new battery they installed in 07/22/25 is just more of the same junk batteries without a proper fix.

I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon with approximately 23,000 miles. I recently received notice of Recall 68C (high-voltage battery fire risk). Jeep’s instructions say not to charge the vehicle and to park it outdoors, away from structures, because of potential fire risk. The manufacturer has stated that no repair will be available until at least March 2026, leaving owners unable to safely use or charge their vehicles for months. This recall follows multiple previous recalls and investigations involving fire risk or electrical system failures on the Wrangler 4xe, including earlier campaigns related to the hybrid battery and software updates. The repeated safety issues raise concerns about the overall safety and reliability of this model. My vehicle is otherwise in excellent condition, but I can no longer use it as intended as a plug-in hybrid or safely park it in my garage. Jeep has not offered a timely fix, loaner vehicle, or buyback. I am reporting this because the ongoing risk of fire, coupled with repeated recalls and long repair delays, represents a serious safety hazard that deserves immediate NHTSA attention.

The vehicle has multiple critical, uncorrected safety defects: Loss of Motive Power (RQ24012), Engine Contamination (CSN 78C), and Battery Fire Risk (Recall 68C). Incident Details (R/O [XXX], [XXX]): My 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe experienced a sudden and complete Loss of Motive Power while operating. The customer concern noted on the Repair Order states the vehicle "seems to loose power while driving above 30MPH... and feel like it was going to turn off." This failure rendered the vehicle inoperable and created an extreme safety hazard on a major roadway [XXX] ), forcing me to coast to safety. Component Failure and Safety Risk: The failed components are the Engine (2.0L Turbo), Hybrid Propulsion System, and Electric Coolant Heater (ECH). The dealer's repair (R/O [XXX]) confirmed system instability by replacing the ECH. This loss of power is directly linked to the manufacturer's known defect (CSN 78C), where sand contamination in the engine can cause catastrophic failure and unrecoverable loss of propulsion. This mechanical defect is the root cause of the safety risk and is currently under NHTSA investigation (RQ24012). Additionally, the vehicle is subject to Recall 68C (Battery Fire Risk), preventing safe use of the PHEV system and forcing me to park away from structures. The combination of these uncorrected defects puts both my safety and the safety of others at risk. Warning Lamps: A 'Service Hybrid System' light or similar warning message appeared at the time of the incident. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer (Price Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram) and is documented in Repair Order [XXX]. The component is available for inspection upon request. The jeep was taken to the dealership under a software battery recall and the software was updated. One week later while driving at approximately 55mph, there was a sudden jerk in the propulsion system. the car shifted abruptly from electric to gas motor and the electric mode was unavailable. The vehicle jerked and hesitated at every acceleration and deceleration causing unsafe operating conditions . The check engine light was on I returned it to the dealer immediately and was told that the high voltage hybrid battery was bad. I'm pretty convinced from my and other experiences that the software up date was not a remedy to previous incidents reported to you. It was a software patch that determined if the battery was bad.

I just had the 68C recall done to my Jeep Wrangler 4XE recently. Before the recall, it was running fine. But now, every time I go uphill in electric only mode, the car would suddenly lose power (eg. slowing down from 50 MPH to 20 MPH). Pressing the accelerator does nothing, until I fully depress it, at which point the gas engine would start and the car jerks forward. It's very dangerous with the sudden slow down and speed up for no reason.

Vehicle rear locker light flashing indicating the rear locker was turned on when, leaving a retail shop, and the rear locker engaged in 2WD on its own! No indication prior to this, it came out of the blue. Tried to disengage the rear locker via selector switch but unsuccessful. Any attempts to drive were met with severe jumping and jerking of the vehicle with loud metal banging noises. Tried both reverse and forward as well as putting it in 4WD and then back to 2WD to disengage the locker. Not successful. Vehicle towed to Jeep dealership. Luckily I was in a parking lot and not on the main road. If this happened on the main road at speed, I fear I may have lost control of the vehicle as it was jerking and jumping and the vehicle was uncontrollable which would have put other drivers at risk of collision and possible injury. Dealership has confirmed the issue, replaced the rear locker and sensors in the axle, and the symptoms persist for them too. They are currently looking into the electrical system and computer as the root cause. Chrysler is recommending the dealer replace the rear axle as the only means of fixing the issue. Apparently this is a growing issue that Chrysler has been aware of for several years. Vehicle is currently in the shop at the dealership for troubleshooting.

Transmission refuses to shift. Or will loose power and Have to pull off or just stop on the highway to shut vehicle off and restart to fix the problem. I was on i85 and had to pull off twice and the shoulder is a dangerous area to be on that highway. Also torque converter ticks and I’ve noticed a lot of the 2.0 4 cylinders having the same issues.

At 10,400 miles a safety recall was performed on clutch for manual transmission. The dealership replaced clutch bearing, clutch press kit, and other clutch components. After 800 miles were driven (11,200 total miles on vehicle) and after the recall service, the clutch went out again while driving. Dealership is telling me the slave cylinder went out and will need to be replaced.

Sudden loss of power. Vehicle completely lost response to accelerator pedal while driving: Had a very strange experience last night. I have been barely charging my 4xe after 95b recall trying to maybe slow down battery degradation and drive it like during the recall period. Last night I was going down a rural road. I rolled up to a 4 way stop slowing down from about 55mph to stop. Vehicle was in hybrid mode, and cluster was at <1%. I had barely stopped, I don’t think the ICE shut down. I tried to accelerate to clear the intersection and I had 0 power. Car would barely move and slowly rolled in the intersection. Engine was running but not responding to the accelerator with RPM increase, just like when you try to rev at idle. No response to half or full throttle. I just slowly rolled in the intersection (scary situation, luckily no heavy traffic) I turned my hazard lights on and tried again to accelerate, 0 response, no MIL light, still gas in car. I tried to change drive mode to electric, message “unavailable, battery depleted” (no surprise there), tried e-save no response to throttle either. Last resort I put tranny in park and re-cycled start/stop. HV battery had enough power to start engine and responded to throttle and I was back driving. Did another 10-15 miles yesterday, no wild issues (sometimes it feels a little jerky, but that could be just me now). I did some heavy accelerations. Power meter went to 100, re-charged on coasting and did that for 4 or 5 repetitions. No warning lights ever. Checked my SOH last night and it had dropped to 80.8%. I decided to charge on L1 outside. Didnt have full SOC this morning, just 75% on dash. Drove normal this moaning, stayed in electric mist of the time. My 75% was completely depleted after maybe 10 miles driving. All seems typical for a poor SOH HV battery, except the loss of power and 0 response to throttle. Very scary and potentially dangerous.

My engine light came on shortly after my first warranty oil change August 23,2025 at the Tonkin Hillsboro dealership. During my 2nd warranty oil change January 9,2026 at Tonkin Hillsboro dealership I let them know my engine light came on after their last service and they wanted to charge me the diagnosis fee. After continued discussion learned they already checked the code indicator and mentioned possible gas cap seal and it was not fixed. Today I received an Updated Carfax of my recent service and saw a recall for my vehicle dated on October 30, 2025 re: Urgent Fire Risk When Parked. NHTSA Recall Number 25V741000 Manufacturer Recall Number68C NHTSA Recall Number25V-741 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete This safety was not checked, fixed or completed within the consumer regulatory requirement of recalls while my vehicle was in service and in their observation. If the recall notice is dated October 30, 2025, there should be no reason for an oversight in providing clear communication and corrective action immediately while the vehicle was in service on January 9,2025 and communication/information before I picked up the vehicle and drove it off the lot. This is a certified vehicle that so far has not given me any confidence of proper dealership quality and car for vehicle safety and consumer co concern.

2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, VIN [XXX] , Recall P0DAB-00 (Hybrid/EV Cell Balancing Performance Case #[XXX], Jeep corporate case manager Tiona. On 8/11/25, I brought my vehicle to Freeland Jeep, Antioch, TN for a separate issue and requested inspection for the open EV battery recall. The dealership gave a “green flag,” confirming no recall impact. On [XXX], the check engine light came on and the vehicle drove unsafely. On [XXX], the exact recall issue (P0DAB-00) was diagnosed — the same issue we asked to be inspected. Approval for hybrid battery replacement was granted; part was ordered for 9/3 with repair by 9/5 — repair never occurred. Service advisor Brian Astorga claimed the part “cannot be located.” Calls/emails to service manager David Beasley and case manager Tiona are unanswered. The timing is highly suspicious: the vehicle failed immediately after the “all clear” inspection, suggesting potential negligence or miscommunication. We are now more than 1 month without a vehicle, which is unsafe and unacceptable. AND we even had to argue with Jeep to cover a rental! Requested Action: Require Jeep to complete the recall repair immediately or initiate a full buyback. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My jeep started leaving me stranded 8 times. The jeep would not start but had warning lights of " service charging system" , with picture of a battery in left of dash, a wrench, engine light, and it won't go into neutral to have it towed. I had it in the shop twice, and they cannot figure out the cause. They did update the computer to cover the recall from automatic combustion. { updated the computer) . It got worse, the car is now cutting off while on. I had it towed to the jeep dealer aging tonight . The dashboard lights do not come onto until after engine failure. This is a hybrid, I was told by Crossroads to keep the vehicle charged but this has not corrected the problem.

I was driving on the freeway, 65mph, in Los Angeles and the '21 Jeep Wrangler 4xe started showing a bunch of error messages telling me to safely pull over, loss of propulsion, etc. I lost power and was unable to drive past 38mph. Upon getting to the end of the off-ramp and before coming to a full stop, the vehicle threw itself into parking gear. I shifted to Park, and it wouldn’t shift out of Park, while I was blocking traffic on the off-ramp, which could have been a dangerous incident. I required a tow truck. There was a Check Engine Light and a 12V battery light while I was bricked. The tow truck was unable to jump start it. The dealer provided a pre-scan report showing stored codes P0607 (ECU Internal Performance) and P1B13 (Park-By-Wire Unintended Out of Park). Refusal to Repair: The dealer just replaced the 12V battery and "cleared the codes" (per their invoice). There is a known TSB 08-054-22 (NHTSA ID 10248015) specifically relating to code P0607 software logic, but they refused to look into it further. I didn’t have confidence in their diagnosis, and when requesting them to do a safety test drive with me, they refused. When I pressed for safety verification, the Service Director told me to “leave the dealership and never come back.” I was genuinely concerned about the safety of this vehicle and their lack of investigative diagnosis, specifically their refusal to verify if the TSB was performed to ensure the Hybrid Control modules have up-to-date software. They refused to offer any help and just told me to “take the vehicle and leave.” I don’t believe it’s normal for a car to lose propulsion from a weak 12V battery while driving. There seems to be a more complicated communication issue (P0607) that is happening, and it very much concerns me as losing propulsion on the highway is very dangerous.

I purchased (traded into) a 2021 Jeep Wrangler on October 31, 2024. The vehicle already had an open safety recall (68C) at the time of purchase. Shortly after, the vehicle began experiencing severe and dangerous safety failures. While driving, the Jeep suddenly goes into “turtle mode,” loses power without warning, and drops to 7–12 mph in traffic. The engine light comes on and the vehicle becomes almost undrivable. This creates an extremely hazardous situation where I could be rear-ended or left stranded on the road. This is a serious safety risk to me and to other drivers. I contacted Jeep/Stellantis Recall Customer Care to report the issue. Only after calling did I receive an email telling me I must pay out of pocket for a rental vehicle, even though the vehicle is unsafe and the recall remedy is not available. I immediately responded saying I cannot pay upfront. Since November 25, Jeep/Stellantis has ignored my messages completely. The vehicle remains unsafe, undrivable, and under a recall with no available parts. Jeep has refused to provide a direct-billed rental or any safe alternative transportation. I have been left without a usable vehicle while the manufacturer fails to communicate or offer assistance. This is a major safety defect, and the lack of manufacturer response puts me in danger. If this vehicle loses power in traffic again, it could cause an accident. I am requesting NHTSA intervention because Jeep/Stellantis is not addressing this safety issue, not providing a remedy, and not honoring their recall responsibilities. Symptoms: •Sudden power loss •Turtle mode activation •Speed dropping to 7–12 mph unexpectedly •Engine warning light on •Vehicle unsafe to operate Manufacturer Failure: •Recall 68C remedy unavailable •Denied direct-billed rental •Required me to pay upfront for rental •No response to my communication since Nov 25 •Left me without transportation

My local dealer has all the documentation on this jeep. It has been into the dealership many times now the check engine light is on for another problem which I am taking it in again this weekend . When I ask the dealer, I’ve been seeing things on Facebook about these jeeps having issues they just filled me full of a bunch of Bull and says every vehicle has issues. I’ve ran the VIN number and found out that mine is one of them that just catches on fire plus sometimes shakes when it’s driving down the road but that’s been minor considering everything else. One time I was driving up the driveway and it felt like the transmission slipped or something. They said it was something in the four-wheel-drive that went out. This is a new vehicle. It has very low miles on it. I’ve had it going on maybe the fourth year now it’s only got 31,000 miles on it I don’t drive it very far. It’s been in the shop several times for recalls or things that’s happened to it. When I first got it, it left me stranded would not start. I’d only had it a few days. It has been a lemon from start to finish. I am terrified to drive it and I don’t have another vehicle. I paid $55,000 for this jeep just a few years ago. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I desperately need help if the manufacturer is refunding people’s monies I want to make sure that I get enough money to buy another vehicle because this one is only a few years old and it’s been in the shop numerous amount of times. The other day it shimmied a little bit on the highway and I thought it was the road and now I’m reading that there’s problems with that also, it’s clearly a lemon. But as I said, I’m scared to death to drive it now. The newest development as I’ve said is now the check engine light is on. It’s only been out of the shop for maybe three weeks since they fixed something in the four-wheel-drive which I’ve never even used. I love the looks of this Jeep, but it’s not dependable so I need help.

I have had a brake problem since September 2025. The symptom is a hard brake pedal that does not stop the vehicle at low speeds. There is a similar problem with other Wrangler models that do have a recall issued. It was related to a software update around the same time my problem started. I have had it back to the dealer (Hoover CDJR in Summerville, SC) at least 3 times. At the last visit, they said that they acknowledge there is an issue but Stellantis does not know root cause or have a repair. The problem does not cause a diagnostic code. Not being able to stop reliably in low speed situations include dangers in parking lots, my driveway, stop signs and lights. I have been lucky that I have not made contact with another vehicle or pedestrian yet but it has been close a few times. I fear it is a matter of time before the luck runs out.

I have a 2021 jeep wrangler and the brake hose went on the driver front side. Mopar product ID is 68307451AH. I have called numerous dealerships and Mopar themselves. They informed me this hose is on backorder for over 841 jeeps, and they are unable to get this across the US. Knowing how many jeeps are needing this hose, is it possible to get a recall on it due to the fact it is imperative to fix right away? I've been trying to find a replacement or an alternate but no luck. This is my only mode of transportation and don't want to keep driving my jeep as it continues to veer to the right due to the faulty hose I'm experiencing.

Paint bubbling and aluminum body panel corrosion on hood and front doors of my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (VIN [XXX] ), currently at 63,000 miles. This is a well-documented manufacturing defect affecting 2018-2021 JL Wrangler and 2020-2021 JT Gladiator vehicles with aluminum body panels. Stellantis has issued multiple Technical Service Bulletins addressing this exact condition: TSB 31-001-18 (March 2018), TSB 31-001-19 (July 2019), TSB 31-002-20 (October 2020), TSB 31-002-22 (December 2022), and most recently TSB 31-001-26 Revision A (February 2026), all titled "Aluminum Body Panel Corrosion Repair." The corrosion presents as paint bubbling along the leading edge of the hood and on the door panels. Filiform corrosion develops under the paint over many months before becoming visible. My corrosion warranty expired in January 2026, just one month before the latest TSB was issued. I am reporting this defect for federal documentation. The manufacturer has been aware of this defect for over 8 years (since 2018) and continues to issue revised TSBs rather than implementing a recall. A class action lawsuit ([XXX] et al. v. FCA US LLC) has been filed regarding this same defect. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,900.

A recall repair was completed in 2023 related to an overheating warning. Recently, the same issue has returned. The engine cooling fan runs at a very high speed for several minutes and then shuts off, even when the vehicle is cold or operating under normal conditions. An overheating warning message appeared briefly while driving, but the temperature gauge remained within the normal range. This suggests the engine may not actually be overheating and that the issue may be related to a faulty sensor, electrical system, or control module. The problem has not yet been fully diagnosed by a dealer due to diagnostic costs, but the symptoms are consistent with the original issue that led to the recall repair. This condition could pose a safety risk because the driver may receive inaccurate overheating warnings or may not be alerted if a real overheating condition occurs. The issue is intermittent and has occurred both while driving and when the vehicle is stationary. Attempts were made to contact the manufacturer to report this as a repeat issue after a recall repair, but no resolution was provided and a formal case was not successfully established.

My vehicle is experiencing EV system failures, stalling, and system shutdown warnings that make the vehicle unsafe to operate. These symptoms began after a recall repair that was performed by the dealership. The dealership initially stated the recall was repaired, but the same symptoms have continued and have now worsened. The vehicle will display EV system warnings and will stall or shut down systems while driving. The air conditioning and other systems also shut down as the vehicle attempts to protect the electrical system. I have brought the vehicle back to the dealership multiple times regarding this issue. Despite the vehicle showing the same symptoms associated with the recall, I am now being told I may have to pay for additional teardown work unrelated to the EV system. This vehicle has become unsafe to drive, and I have requested assistance and escalation from dealership management but have not received a resolution. I am filing this complaint due to the safety risk posed by the vehicle stalling and shutting down systems while in operation.

Vehicle stalled out. Then would not start. Daughter was stuck for 30 minutes until it finally turned over took it into dealership. Was told it’s the fuel pump. My issue is that now. These fuel pumps are back ordered indefinitely found out because all of the fuel pumps are going bad on the jeeps. Now we have a faulty part that the dealership is aware of that you cannot get replaced due to so many of them needing to be replaced, which tells me they know this part is faulty was told they’re not even sure if or when they would be able to get the part now you have all these people driving jeeps that can stall out on the road and get into a terrible accident. The car completely shut down to the point that I was not even able to pop it in neutral to help roll it to a safer place further off the highway. Fine, the gas gauge is wrong, but not being able to put it in neutral for my own safety and the safety of others is unacceptable.

This is a plug in hybrid vehicle. The (ECH) electric coolant heater is prone to failure. This failure can lead to loss of power and might cause the hybrid battery pack to not regulate its temperature leading to a fire. This is a high failure rate with some saying it has failed more than once. Jeep 4xe Fans on Facebook has been doing some tracking of numbers and shows a 50% failure rate with some failing after being replaced. This failure is not being addressed by Jeep.

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has now been through three separate recalls for the same high-voltage battery fire risk, each time with the same “software flash” remedy instead of a permanent repair. Recall 24V-111 (04B, Feb 2024): Software update to the Battery Management System (BMS) to detect battery faults. Recall 24V-720 (95B, Sept 2024): Reissued for the same defect, again using only a software update. Recall 25V-741 (68C, Oct 2025): A third campaign for the same issue, described once more as a “software flash followed by replacement if needed,” though parts are still unavailable. Each campaign cites potential separator damage inside the battery cells, which can lead to thermal events and fires. Despite multiple “fixes,” Stellantis has never provided an actual hardware remedy or replacement plan. Owners continue to be told to park away from structures and avoid charging their vehicles. More than a year after the first battery recall, the manufacturer still cannot supply a permanent remedy, exceeding the “reasonable time” requirement under federal safety law. I am filing this complaint because repeated software-only updates have not corrected the defect and the vehicle remains at risk of fire. NHTSA oversight is needed to ensure Stellantis provides a true, lasting fix rather than another temporary software patch.

On Tuesday January 6 2026, I was driving my 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. I noticed smoke coming out the engine. I pulled over to the side of the road to determine the problem. Upon exiting the vehicle, I saw flames coming from the undercarriage of the engine. The fire soon engulfed the vehicle. 911 was called. Police and Fire responded. The vehicle was destroyed in the fire. I have photos and videos of the fire and aftermath, taken once I exited the vehicle. I assume the fire is the result of the recent recall on the battery components of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The vehicle is currently in an impound lot and would be available for inspection upon request. I have notified Jeep and my insurance of the incident, but the jeep has not as of yet, been inspected by either entity. The fire was of great risk to myself. If I hadn't pulled over when I did who knows what might have occurred. In addition I had a full tank of gas so the vehicle could have exploded endangering other people, vehicles, and property. No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem appeared prior to the failure. The vehicle had been operating as intended prior to smoke/fire. I have documentation of a service of the vehicle on Wednesday Dec 3, 2025 with Raidon's of Kirkland in which the performed recall services.

The high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failed internally while I was driving at night, causing the vehicle to suddenly stall and shut off completely while my children were in the vehicle. This resulted in an immediate loss of power and created a dangerous situation in traffic. The failure caused metal debris to spread throughout the entire fuel system, and the dealership confirmed that the system requires full replacement. I was quoted approximately $15,000 for repairs. This vehicle previously had a manufacturer recall related to the fuel pump that was completed in 2022 and is now listed as closed. Despite the recall repair, the same failure occurred again. This demonstrates that the recall remedy did not correct the defect. The sudden engine shutdown without warning presents a serious safety hazard, especially at night and with passengers in the vehicle. Its been at the dealer ship for a month.

I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Unlimited, which has undergone three manufacturer recalls and two separate service (one handle during a recall visit) visits due to charging failures. The recalls were related to defrost system malfunctions, sudden loss of motor power, and high-voltage battery concerns. Each of these issues was addressed solely through **dealer-installed software updates**—updates that could not be completed over the air. These recalls and service visits highlight a troubling pattern: the vehicle’s core systems—including the BPCM, IDCM, PIM, TCM, and HCP—are deeply interconnected and dependent on one another. So far, my vehicle has required a total of **10 software updates**, with some systems needing multiple revisions. Most recently, Jeep addressed a “not charging” problem by once again performing a software update—this time affecting **five of the seven systems previously updated during recalls**. Despite the problem originating from their software architecture, Jeep charged me **$200 for the update**, even though it stemmed from an issue caused by their failed over-the-air deployment strategy. These recurring failures are not isolated incidents—they represent a systemic flaw within the vehicle’s hybrid management and safety systems. Relying on repeated software patches to resolve critical defects is not only unsustainable—it’s creating **unsafe driving conditions** and placing an unfair burden on the owner.

Two issues that I want to make known. First is a classic jeep issue with the death wobble. I currently have the jeep back in the shop for the current recall and having them fix the wobbling again. This would be the second time that it has happened. worried because the warranty is about to expire. Next is a problem that I almost forgot about until recently because I started driving a rental jeep wrangler. With my jeep, when I have the adaptive cruse control on, it some times thinks there is a car in front of me when it is in the next lane, and right in the middle of the highway, my jeep tries to stop because there is a car next to me in its own lane. This has been going on for a while now but i have never gotten it looked at because of the cost. im going to have both issues looked at during the recall because my extended warranty is ending and im worried that if i dont get it fixed now, im going to have to pay more in the future. Side notes about my jeep, it was a buy back before I purchased it. Was supposedly fixed. At around 10k miles I had a radiator issue and then needed to have a complete engine replacement. With both of these battery recalls, I have had to get a new battery. Im about to get by 3rd. There has also been hvac issues fixed in the past. I tried to contact jeep about another buy back, but they denied the claim without even talking to me. Currently working on trying to actually talk to someone.

I was driving 72 miles per hour on 4 lane highway and the steering wheel and front end of the jeep was vibrating uncontrollably. The cruse control stopped working, i applied the brake and was able to slow down and pull over to the side of the road. No flat tires so I pulled back on to the highway and arrived at my destination without further incident. 10-24-25 The same thing happened last week but i thought maybe the lane assist went off because there were no road lines (newly repaved road) but my Jeep doesn't have lane assist. After researching on line I believe what occurred is what they call "Death wobble" there were no bumps in the road - the road is in good condition so I'm not certain what prompted the death wobble.

Vehicle started and put in reverse. after backing up approximately 15 ft, vehicle put into driver and once accelerator was pressed, vehicle stalled. Tried to restart, engines turned over but stalled again after 1 second. Waited 10 seconds and tried to restart again, stalled again 1 second after turnover. Turned vehicle completely off, opened door, waited 30 seconds, tried starting again and system attempted to stat for 5-10 seconds (push to start ignition so I had no control over how long it tried this), but engine would not turn over. Vehicle also could not be shifted out of park (turned vehicle off and tried to put in “On” position without ever depressing the brake). Vehicle now stuck in driveway and unable to be moved. Acting like an issue with the fuel pump, which is a recall that was announced for some vehicles of this make and model, but NHTSA check shows no open recalls on vehicle. No warning lights or check engine lights came on.

I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 with the 6.4L engine (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle has a dangerous condition where the engine stalls unexpectedly when the fuel level is approximately 1/4 tank or lower and the vehicle is traveling downhill. When the vehicle is positioned on a decline or downhill slope, the engine suddenly shuts off without warning. This appears to be fuel starvation on decline when the fuel level is below approximately 1/4 tank, resulting in engine stall and loss of power steering and braking assist after stall. This has occurred multiple times and creates a significant risk of crash due to the sudden loss of engine power and reduced steering and braking assistance while the vehicle is in motion. The issue is particularly concerning when descending hills or driving on angled terrain. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership (Carvana Jeep San Diego) where technicians determined the likely cause is a defective fuel pump module associated with the Wrangler Rubicon 392 6.4L fuel pump module. However, the dealership informed me the replacement fuel pump module is currently on national backorder from the manufacturer (Stellantis/Jeep). They stated there is no confirmed availability date and that many vehicles may be waiting for the same component. My vehicle has been awaiting repair for approximately four months due to the unavailable fuel pump module. Because the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while traveling downhill, this defect presents an ongoing safety hazard and potential risk of crash. This complaint is being submitted so the issue can be evaluated as a potential safety defect involving fuel delivery failure, fuel pump module malfunction, and engine stall under low fuel conditions in the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. In the last month my wife and I have 4 experiences with an extreme vibration and wobble in the front end of my jeep while driving on the highway. The vibration is violent and the last time it seemed as if the wheels were going to come off my 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Once I slow down the to a lower speed, 45 mph for example, the wobble stops but it seems to be a problem with many Wranglers based upon my research. I am going to schedule an appointment with a dealer to have this investigated but I have less than 35,000 miles on my jeep and it seems to be a manufacturer issue. There are no warning lights that indicate I may have any kind of problem.

The jeep upon hitting a bump on the right tire on freeway at speeds, right tire goes into a, "death wobble," and violently shakes steering wheel and vehicle like it is coming apart. . Around 60-70 mph. Usually on a left corner and right tire hits a bump. Steering wheel violently shakes. Jeep right wheel violently shakes. Has happened several times till the vehicle gets pulled over to a slow or stop. Once slowed to a crawl or stopped. It stops it. Very dangerous to drive.

Jeep continues to apply bandaids to the high voltage battery system. The latest recall, 68c, is another software fix that doesnt address the root cause, high voltage battery. after the recall, the car drives horrible when in electric mode - engine kicks on all the time, loss of power until you stomp on the accelerator (which then kicks on engine). NHTSA needs to hold Jeep Stellantis accountable for selling an inferior product and take care of the customers who have supported them for the past 5 years until they stopped selling them! there are 320,000 jeeps impacted, lets fix this!!! I will be scheduling service soon, but you cant expect customers to stop our lives to live at the service center. Jeep really needs to start offering a large scale buyback OR fix the issue which would be to replace the battery with new improved updated one that doesnt become a fire risk every year! Thats where the NHTSA should come in to play - which is "dedicated to saving lives, preventing injuries, and reducing economic costs associated with motor vehicle crashes. It achieves this by setting safety standards, investigating defects, issuing recalls"

My vehicle is subject to an open safety recall (NHTSA Recall 25V-741) involving high-voltage battery separator damage that may cause a vehicle fire when parked or charging. The recall has been active on this vehicle for over four months. The manufacturer and dealers have confirmed the recall applies but have not provided a remedy timeline or parts availability. The vehicle is considered unsafe to park near structures or other vehicles and I have been advised to avoid recharging. No repair has been performed. The condition places occupants and others at risk of fire and prevents safe use of the vehicle. I am reporting this because the manufacturer has failed to remedy this safety recall in a timely manner.

2021 jeep wrangler 4xe , power loss twice after recall was completed in 2022. INCIDENT AFTER RECALL completed. 1st - power loss, turtle sign. got stuck in hope BC, Canada. ECU FLASH fixed it, chilliwack, BC. 57000 miles roughly. Hv battery voltage sensor ckt performance issue. 2nd time- 62000 miles roughly, ABRUPT POWER LOSS on a highway, driving in passing lane 75mph, engine check lights on, after few secs full power loss, all lights on. After 30 mins of park mode, all lights went away. Towed it to dealership. They ordered a part, and is still stuck at dealership, since 15 days. Used my judgement & managed to safely coast and avoided risk of any incident. Turtle sign, and i think and something with battery verbiage popped up. Couldn't take an image as was in reactive mode. Parked and turned off the engine, called tow truck. After coming back from home waiting on a tow truck, turned on the car. All lights gone. Dealership found DTC's , crown jeep dublin perimeter drive, but couldn't recreate as per my knowledge, at this time. I am hoping dealership might fix my car soon. I am reaching out to let you know the recall countermeasure didnt fix the issue. Please push jeep for a permanent hard countermeasure, not a band aid. It's not just a severe inconvenience, but major risk for accidents on road. Dealership told me other cars came in for similar issue, due to OTA update for 24my and 25my 4xe's, and it was not applied on my car 21MY. Thanks

Vehicle check engine light illuminated along with multiple other lights on the dashboard. It had a difficult time accelerating on its own, very sluggish. At the next light the gas pedal was just tapped and the vehicle began to over accelerate increasing to over 30 MPH in a turning lane while crossing an intersection. Avoided a car accident and pulled into the nearest parking lot. That was the second time that type of incident occurred. The first time, the vehicle was self accelerating during 5 o’clock traffic in Los Angeles. We had to constantly press on the brakes only to avoid accidents until we could exit the freeway.

The contact owned a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle was designed with a right-hand steering wheel and was used as a mail carrier vehicle. The contact stated that after parking and dropping off mail, the contact returned to the vehicle and noticed that the vehicle was overheating, and the battery warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact noticed an abnormal popping sound and smoke coming from under the hood. The contact turned off and exited the vehicle. The contact called 911, and the Fire truck arrived 10 minutes later; however, the fire had already started under the hood. The contact stated that the vehicle burned significantly from the front-end to the front seats. Additionally, mail inside the vehicle were burned. The fire was extinguished by the fire department. There was no injury sustained. A fire report was filed, and additionally, a Police report was filed. The vehicle was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The vehicle was towed to Copart's. Upon conducting a VIN search on the NHTSA.gov website, the contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V363000 (Steering). The dealer was notified of the failure and stated that the recall only applied to electric vehicles. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.

Unpredictable complete loss of power steering that will continue until the brakes are applied and speed is reduced to approximately 30 mph and voltage level spikes, as high as 16.3 volts as shown on the instrument panel. It is not temperature related. When disabled it requires two hands and extreme strength to turn, especially when taking an off ramp. Voltage level is typically ranging between 12.7 - 13.7 volts during normal conditions as well as when in no power steering conditions. The first trip 3-4 months ago to the dealership and the only finding was a corroded ground loop which did not solve the issue. After no success begging for a loaner car we left the Jeep 19JUN25 while on vacation for second trip this week. I requested them to contact Stellantis STAR Center and this is the report: 24JUN25 Good morning - our STAR case engineer pointed us in the direction of a similar STAR publication that we had followed the last visit. I did not find any faults within the charging system or any voltage regulators at this point. There were 5 labeled grounds in this publication that were common for building up corrosion. The ground that is on the frame near the driver rear close to the 48v battery had a large amount of corrosion. He cleaned up each ground and applied dielectric grease yesterday, so now I am having him take on a few test drives to see if the issue persists. I have a video of the spike leading to steering reengagement but unable to upload it.

Tires display severe weather checking in the tread and sidewalk. Tires have less than 10000 miles. It was not garage kept and was used in college, so was not driven much during the winter. Notified Nexen and they were very rude. I told them they were take offs and they responded that they were technically used. I said they were taken off a brand new Jeep and were stored inside. They were only off the vehicle for about a month. Seller said he has not seen the issue with these tires and stores them in accordance to manufacturers recommendation. I explained to Nexen, “who cares if you call them used, they are less than 2.5 years old and are coming apart. That should be concerning.” I saved 2 of them for evaluation. They do not care.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -After the 68C recall update for the HV battery failures, the vehicle has not been able to consistently maintain or provide power due to the limitation of the battery introduced as part of the recall. This is most noticeable driving in Electric Mode below 60% charge. The throttle behavior is inconsistent and unpredictable due to the recent updated How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -I was merging onto a controlled access highway and unable to accelerate after pulling into the travel lane from the merging lane due to the limitations of the battery power. The engine did not respond in time to provide power to the vehicle. The occurrence of the loss of power is unpredictable. Some times the electric battery and motor can provide the necessary power, and in others it does not respond to the throttle demand at the same state of charge with no indication of the issue. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -It has not yet Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -It has not Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -No warning lamps were provided

While driving higher speeds (45 mph+) I have had my vehicle start shaking very violently which results in me having to slam on my breaks to gain control of my vehicle. When this happens I have been traveling on the highway or interstate which puts other drivers at risk due to me unexpectedly having to come to a halt to gain control of my vehicle. I have taken my vehicle to the mechanic multiple times (dealership twice and local mechanic twice) and I have had everything replaced on the front end that could cause this and it is still happening. Steering dampener has been replaced twice in a year. Mechanic seems to believe that there is a design flaw in the vehicle that is causing it at this point. There is no warning message or anything that gives me any warning. I am scared to drive my vehicle on the highway or interstate.

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (3.6L eTorque, automatic transmission) has experienced recurring drivetrain instability beginning at approximately 2,000 miles while under factory warranty. The vehicle intermittently exhibits a high-RPM flare during acceleration, where the engine speed increases without a commensurate increase in vehicle acceleration. The transmission then abruptly engages, causing sudden jerking. At low speeds (approximately 10–5 mph), the vehicle shudders and harshly downshifts, creating a sudden grabbing sensation. Engine RPMs fluctuate during deceleration as if the transmission cannot smoothly match engine speed. Braking feels inconsistent, and at times it feels as though the vehicle is accelerating or resisting braking input before abruptly slowing. The vehicle has felt as though it would stall at low speeds and has stalled intermittently. Additionally, the forward collision warning / automatic emergency braking system has activated without an obstacle present. There have also been intermittent instances of loss of power steering assist. The engine has developed a ticking noise and a high-pitched ringing/whining sound from the engine area during operation. In January 2026, the transmission catastrophically failed and required replacement of the transmission, torque converter, cooler, and control module. The vehicle was out of service for over 24 days. Following installation of a Mopar remanufactured transmission and torque converter, the same symptoms have recurred, including RPM flare, delayed shifting, shuddering, harsh downshifts, unstable deceleration, and abnormal engine noises. These conditions present a safety concern due to loss of expected acceleration, unpredictable torque engagement, unintended braking activation, intermittent power steering loss, stalling behavior, and drivetrain instability. The vehicle is currently under further diagnostic evaluation. I have multiple documents, but the file is too large to upload

The front passenger occupant noticed there was smoke from underneath the hood. While pulling over, the steering wheel locked up, and the occupants exited the vehicle. The engine warning light was illuminated. The damper had previously been replaced, but the vehicle was well-maintained. There were no reported injuries, air bag deployment, or crash. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. The police were called to the scene, but there was no police report. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The local dealer was contacted. The 1st time it happened I was getting on highway and went over a Crack in road and my jeep started vibrating violently. Totally scared me but once I slowed down it stopped so I figured it was a fluke thing. My hubby drove it to Seattle and going 70 he went over grooved pavement and the shaking happened again. Third times a charm at 65 and didn't go over anything and it scared the crap out of me so bad I slowed down to 30 in a 60 in order for it to stop. Immediately contacted dealership and was told it would be hundreds of dollars and it isn't covered under warranty. I bought this Jeep brand new, only has 41,000miles and dont beat her up on off road because she is my daily driver. This violently shaking is scary and this could really do a new driver some harm and needs to be addressed and fixed in ALL Jeep vehicles.

While driving at highway speed on November 11, 2025, my 2021 Jeep Wrangler experienced a sudden and complete electrical failure without warning. A “Battery Saver Mode” message appeared, and within seconds multiple safety systems began shutting down. First Failure: While driving on the highway and exiting, the vehicle abruptly lost power steering, ABS, stability control, airbag system, exterior lighting, dashboard displays, and engine power. Multiple warning lamps illuminated at once. Steering and braking became extremely difficult, creating an immediate safety risk. I was able to coast to a stop and park. The vehicle then appeared stable and the messages cleared. Second Failure: After restarting the vehicle, the warning reappeared. While driving on a major high-traffic roadway, the vehicle experienced a total electrical shutdown in active traffic and would not restart. Third Failure: A towing service attempted to jump-start the vehicle; it briefly powered on, illuminated nearly every warning light, then immediately shut down again with the radiator fan running at full speed. The electrical system continued to collapse and the vehicle required a full tow. Inspection and Diagnosis: The dealership confirmed a complete alternator and charging system failure at approximately 36,419 miles. This failure occurred at only 4 years of age, which is unusually early for an alternator or charging system failure. The vehicle’s original battery also failed unusually early (at only 2.5 years old) without warning, which may have been an early indication of a charging system issue. The vehicle is lightly used, garage-kept, never off-roaded, and regularly maintained. The sudden loss of steering assist, braking assist, airbags, lighting, and engine power at speed and in high-traffic areas created an extreme safety risk for myself and others. This appears to be a premature electrical system failure and may relate to broader charging system concerns reported in similar vehicles.

I was driving my 2021 Jeep wrangler and it started running poorly. I was near the dealership. I called them and told them I was headed to them asap. (I was within 3 mile range). The car died in the middle of an intersection. I could not put the car in neutral to move it out of the way of traffic. I got a tow truck to bring it to the dealership. Where they told me that the coolant tube fasteners for my vehicle were gone, and that the engine was blown, including the pump. Elbow screws were missing for the vehicle and coolant was everywhere in my vehicle. My car has 46,000 miles on it. It has had every single oil change ,reported recall done and service request to complete completed.. It has been taken very well care of and has only been to this one dealership.. according to the dealership, it is not covered under my powertrain warranty, and that I must pay for the engine and other parts myself. Upon looking into this, I looked into the NHTSA and also the FCA for recalls on a 2021. I found that that my 2021 would have been recalled for recall number ZD8. Recall code is exactly what is wrong with my 2021 vehicle. I don’t know why they didn’t did not add my VIN number to it, but I am requesting that it be investigated to help me get this covered under warranty. I have contacted Chrysler currently they’re telling me that the engine is not available until November 17 at the earliest so at this time I am in a rental car that I am paying for.. I do believe that my VIN number for my vehicle should have been added and that it should be investigated for other owners of Jeep Wrangler 2021 and 2022 vehicles that possibly were not listed with their VIN numbers. My husband was turning left from one highway to another highway when a car who was trying to pass multiple vehicles behind us hit us on drivers side as we were turning causing my 2021 Jeep to be pushed completely off the road and into a ditch where we hit a large pole/electrical pole. We hit the pole so hard that it moved it. Our air bags did not deploy at all. I got a notification on my Jeep app stating that there was airbag failure. My husband and my body were shook pretty bad from the incident and could have been seriously injured due to the impact. Our Jeep was towed to the body shop and they stated the gentleman working there told my husband that our airbags should have deployed.

While driving on a couple occasions the traction control light kicked in and wouldn’t allow me to turn I had to come to almost a complete stop, I thought it had gone away and a few days later I had a death wobble that occurred on a very busy hwy and had to pull into the middle lane to prevent an accident. I could not let go completely of the wheel but I also couldn’t really control the vehicle I had to stop it. I was not turning when this one happened I was going straight I had already turned and drove straight for a few minutes before it happened. It started with the engine sounding louder then normal. Then a bad smell in the cab of the vehicle. Later found out it was a exhaust leak that was getting into the vehicle causing headaches and other symptoms of carbon monoxide. Also note the burn marks around the broken bracket that could cause a fire if not mechanically inclined to notice. Not check engine light for this. But when I spoke to the dealership it wasn't new to them. Apparently this has happened to alot of the ecodiesel jeep and gladiators. A common problem that should be resolved before and life threatening injuries result in loss of consciousness or fire.

From the moment I drove off the lot, I encountered problems. The battery light came on immediately, requiring a replacement within weeks. I returned to the original CarMax location for this service. However, this was only the beginning. Over time, I discovered the following: The driver seatbelt was not functioning properly The right rear passenger seatbelt buckle was completely missing The filters were filthy and had not been cleaned or replaced in well over a year, according to a trusted mechanic The engine may now require replacement at just 38,000 miles When I called CarMax to report the missing seatbelt buckle, I was incorrectly told that my vehicle was not under warranty. This was untrue — I was well within the warranty period at the time. Despite this, I was ignored, and the safety concern received no follow-up or correction. This points to either a falsified or negligent vehicle inspection at the time of sale. Your "125+ point inspection" failed to catch multiple clear safety hazards and wear issues — or worse, they were deliberately overlooked. What’s most disturbing is that I only discovered the missing seatbelt after my sister drove the vehicle with my [XXX] and [XXX] nephews in the backseat. One child had to sit in the middle because the rear right buckle was completely missing. That realization — that I unknowingly placed children at risk in a vehicle that your team labeled "safe" — is devastating. Now I’m being told that the engine may be failing — and it hasn’t even hit 40,000 miles. I was recently asked by the Southlake service team to provide oil change records, which I am willing to share. But let’s be clear: An oil change receipt does not explain why a newer engine is failing at this mileage — unless something much deeper is wrong. ⸻ Title: Loss of Power While Driving on Freeway – Dangerous Malfunction Similar to Recall 23V-116 Complaint Description: I am reporting a serious and dangerous malfunction with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon EcoDiesel. While driving on a high-speed freeway (70–80 MPH), all warning lights on the dashboard illuminated—including the check engine light—and the vehicle suddenly went into limp mode, resulting in a loss of power. This occurred in fast-moving traffic, putting me at immediate risk of a crash. This started happening again every time I got on the freeway for 10 minutes. I’ve owned this Jeep for about a year, have never taken it off-road, and have kept it properly maintained. All electrical components, fuses, and systems have been inspected, and no clear cause has been found. The problem persists and is clearly not due to driver use or negligence. This issue strongly resembles Recall Number 23V-116, which states that affected vehicles may experience a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. That recall was for 2021 Jeep Wrangler vehicles, the same model and year as mine. However, my VIN was not included, despite the fact that I’m experiencing the exact same symptoms described in the recall notice: “A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.” This issue began occurring shortly after that recall was issued, and it has happened multiple times, mostly during highway driving—making the vehicle extremely unsafe. I believe my vehicle should have been included in Recall 23V-116, as this is clearly a safety-related defect involving the powertrain or control module software. This is an urgent safety issue, and I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate why this VIN was excluded from the recall and consider expanding the recall to cover additional affected vehicles before someone gets seriously injured or worse. June 5, 2025 stopped at red light turned green tried to turn left and the jeep flashed the electric red bolt symbol and check engine light came on lost all power would not go when gas pedal was pushed. a/c lost power started blowing hot air and engine turned off. Restarted engine finally got it to go enough to pull out of traffic. Turned off engine opened hood checked battery cables, fuses and all was intact. Started engine drove slowly to the Autozone store to have the diagnostic test done and it showed P2101 power train system throttle actuator A control motor circuit range /performance detected unexpected voltage on the throttle actuator control motor circuit also C121C-00 ABS torque request signal denied Anti-lock Brake System U0401-00 implausible data received from ECM/PCM “A”. Had jeep towed to Moore CDJR dealership where it was purchased from 9/2023 to have serviced found throttle body needs replaced dealership contacted several parts dealers, Mopar, and other dealerships etc. to locate the part needed was advised couldn’t find the parts needed for the repair. Contacted service department and they advised they were calling National Auto Care my extended warranty for approval for repair. My concern is if I had been driving 65 mph and it went out I would have been in a accident when the vehicle stopped functioning. Safety of myself and other drivers would have been compromised. This is the 2.0L Turbo motor and have been advised that there are several issues with this motor and should trade in vehicle. I don’t have that option and this is the only vehicle I have.

Date: [XXX] Subject: Immediate Safety Concern – 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe – Acceleration Failure Dear Jeep Customer Care, I am the owner of a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe, VIN [XXX] , with approximately 50,000 miles. I am writing to report a critical and potentially fatal safety defect that occurred multiple times on [XXX], most notably at the intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] in Oregon. On multiple occasions, when attempting to accelerate from a full stop into an intersection with cross traffic traveling at 55 mph or more, the vehicle failed to respond to throttle input. Instead of accelerating, the Jeep simply rolled slowly into the intersection despite my foot fully depressing the accelerator pedal. This placed me at immediate risk of being struck broadside by oncoming vehicles at high speed, which could have resulted in catastrophic injury or death. The check engine light was on since [XXX] and my husband drove the Jeep to Lithia Chrysler Dodge of Bend (Oregon) on June 4th, 2025, 12 pm. They ran a computer test and told my husband that there was a recall on the battery but that we could still drive the car, and it was safe but not to charge the car (we followed instructions). We couldn’t even secure a vehicle appointment until July 2nd, 2025. How do you not prioritize a potentially critical situation? This defect is entirely unacceptable and renders the vehicle unsafe for operation. I will not drive the vehicle further due to the danger involved. Given the severity of this defect, I request: •Immediate investigation by Jeep/FCA engineering and technical teams. •Safe transport (towing) of the vehicle to an authorized service center at Jeep’s expense. •Full documentation of the inspection, diagnosis, and resolution of this issue. •Confirmation of whether this issue has been reported in other 4xe vehicles or constitutes part of a larger safety defect investigation. I am documenting this issue formally INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

In June 2025, I brought my vehicle to the dealership (Hendricks Chrysler Dodge Birmingham, AL) for a full diagnostic inspection, and at that time I was told everything was fine. There were no warnings, no notes about electrical issues, airbags, coolant leaks, engine leaks, or any of the major concerns now being reported. On my most recent visit (October 2025), the dealership suddenly reported multiple “Immediate Attention” failures, including: • Airbag system issues • Electrical system failure • Coolant system leak • Water pump leak • Engine oil separator leak These items were never mentioned during my previous full diagnostic despite being safety-related components that typically show symptoms or codes. Because these new issues involve critical components like the airbags, engine, and electrical system, my safety was put at risk. I have been driving the vehicle daily under the belief that it had passed a full diagnostic months earlier. If these problems really existed at that time, then I was unknowingly operating an unsafe vehicle. If they did NOT exist, then the sudden appearance of multiple major failures raises concerns about incorrect diagnostics or improper prior inspection. I have not received any warning lights except the airbag light. The dealership has not provided a clear explanation as to how these issues appeared only months after a full inspection. This has caused significant concern regarding vehicle safety, diagnostic reliability, and whether the previous inspection was performed correctly. I am requesting NHTSA review because the dealership failed to identify or disclose major safety-related failures, which has potentially placed me in danger without any warning.

Purchased this vehicle used from Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Mesa, Arizona. I was told the tires were newer and in great shape they looked to have a good amount of tread on them. However, I had an issue with one tire and the dealership patched it incorrectly making it a safety hazard Therefore they replaced one tire with the plug and when I went to a tire place for pressure issues and TPS sensor they pointed out the tires were over five years old which means these were the original tires that came with the Jeep in 2021. After only owning this vehicle for two months, I now have to replace all four tires Because there is a safety issue with the age and the tread. There was also issues with the steering damper, which they did repair due to wobbling, however there is a slight wobble still because I have one brand new tire from the dealer and three tires that are not new. The dealer refuses to take ownership of the sale of unsafe tires.. dealer offered three month 3000 mile max care warranty and they still won’t address the tire issue.

On April 15th 2025 my Instrument Panal Clusters IPC which is main computer system of Jeeps 2018-2024. It has service lights for check engine, tire pressure, def system recalibrations/cleanings, tells me how fast I'm going, oil levels, all other fluid levels, when I need a oil change, how many miles is on jeep, gas gage, along with all other issues or maintenance on a vehicle including if something is wrong or overheating of vehicle. After doing some research I did see there was a Ipc recall on Jeeps/Gladiators 2018-2024. After going on the website to check if my vin qualified it was sadly not included. I ended up taking my vehicle into the dealership and paid out of my pocket 150.00 to have my vehicle diagnosed. The dealership said it was indeed the Ipc but also said my vin number was not included which was a shock to them also since is a severe issue not being able to see anything on dash for my and other driver's on the road . They tried to submit a goodwill to Jeep Corporate office which was sadly declined also. They advised me to park my vehicle and suggest that it was not safe to drive as I do not know when it needs gas an oil change or any other important issues that may be needed. After waiting 8 months patiently making payments not only for a vehicle I cannot use is ridiculous not till mention insurance on top of that something needs to be done weather it's fixing problems, giving me a rental, or just trading the vehicle in for a usable one. Thank you for your time in advance. I tried to upload photos of the diagnostics for the Ipc also the denial of the goodwill. Oh and I forgot I was on the phone for 4 hours with FCA 18003349200 customer care spoke to recall center spoke to Shawn on 6/27/2025 @ 215pm after getting the run around and being transferred 6 different times to Ann Riley and Josh wasting my time to get told I'm not able to speak to a supervisor and there was nothing they could do to help!!!!

My vehicle suffers from severe electrical/hydraulic failures matching recall 21D (NHSTSA ID 26V363000) for the electrical hydraulic power steering pump (EHPSP). Despite Stellantis acknowledging a 1.07- million vehicle fire hazard for this 2.0L turbo, my VIN shows "0 unrepaired recalls" due to a database omission. The vehicle is available for inspection. Safety risk: Active Electronic Stability control (ESC) faults and "service start-stop" dashboard warnings are present. This defect causes severe voltage fluctuations and sudden heavy steering loss while driving, creating an immediate crash hazard and spontaneous under hood fire risk while parked. Dealer history & warranty abuse: certified jeep dealerships have repeatedly failed to fix the root cause. Elm Grove Jeep (Wheeling WV) misdiagnosed the system and repeatedly billed my third-party warranty for thousands of dollars to fix cascading mechanical damage instead of the underlying defect. Parts replaced is 4 consecutive sets of rear shocks, front shocks, a steering clock spring and a drag link pitman arm boot. when elm grove failed to resolve it Stellantis corporate instructed me to take it to another dealer for a star case to be opened there. I took it to Steubenville Jeep (Ohio) with an active ASC light and failed rear shocks and was told "couldn't replicate" the issue and dismissed it. A few weeks ago, the service "start-stop" safety light triggered. Stellantis had corporate knowledge of this ongoing defect for months via prior state Attorney General case but refused to cooperate and waited knowing AG wouldn't keep it open past a certain number of days and replied a day outside of the window. They are leaving an active fire hazard on the road, omitting my VIN from the database rollout, and depleting my personal warranty's financial limits. I request a federal audit to force the inclusion of my VIN.

I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4XE Rubicon. My vehicle has been recalled three times for updates. I have had one recall done for the defroster due to the faulty software that can cause reduced visibility increasing a risk of a crash. The second one was for risk of fire from a faulty high voltage battery driving or parked. The third recall call was to update software for the high voltage battery in which doing so caused my vehicle not to fully charge and to lose power when driving and not be able to start for hours at a time. I now have brought my vehicle back to the Jeep service center for a diagnostic test and it was found that the high voltage battery pack is faulty in which Jeep has said they will put a new battery in once approved from Chrysler. Jeep has not been able to be able to fix the problem with Hybrid battery packs possibly catching on fire or exploding and the new one I'd be getting would risk the same problems possibly injuring or killing myself or any passengers I might have in the vehicle. Jeep is not able to get to the root of the cause of why these high volt battery can go on fire even when they are not in use causing possible property damage to my home or neighbors. I am told in the recall to park my vehicle away from properties and other cars which is impossible to do. I hope you take this serious matter into consideration that Jeep Corporation must find a solution for this Nationwide problem and for people on the road.

While cruising control is engaged, turning the steering wheel 5-10 degrees to the right will result in disruption of the cruise control and displaying a message "cruise control cancelled." This results in an abrupt deceleration during a turn that is unexpected and can create a safety hazard. Additionally, the illumination of steering wheel switches flickers with 5 degrees of right turn. This appears to be consistent with the findings of recall 15B, but my VIN is not included in the recall.

While driving the 'service shifter' warning will flash and once this happens the steering locks up and the car shuts down. This primarily happens when hitting a bump, pot hole, railroad tracks, etc. After the warning flashes and the steering locks up, every light on the dash comes on as the car is shutting down. The vehicle is in the shop for the 3rd time within 9 months for the same issue. The dealership replaced the star link connector saying that was the issue but it is still occurring. The vehicle is currently in the shop with this issue and they are saying there is nothing wrong and 'no codes being thrown.' We have had this happen at least a dozen times on us while driving. A handful without hitting a bump or one of the specified causes. Once this happens, the car become immobile and has to be towed. The first time this occurred was within 10 days of purchasing the vehicle; it started happening in January and is still occurring. After the dealership 'fixes' it, the issue will not occur for a couple of months then it will happen again.
