06/13/2026: THIRD EPISODE of 2024 Jeep GC Summit (Top of Line) Battery being COMPLETELY DEAD after 3-4 days of no driving. I bought my Jeep in 12/2025!? Another issue that others report is the DIFFICULTY of 'jumping' the battery/engine to give a start. We tried multiple times on the evening of 06/13 to no avail. On Sunday, 06/14, we REVVED the jumper engine to ....7000 or 8000 rpms (on the tachometer) before getting enough power to successfully jump the Jeep. THIS New Vehicle "Dead Electric" is very scary on how it could strand us!!

I was sold a defective 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. Both the batter and engine can catch fire while parked and is not recommended to be parked near other cars or any structures. The dealership told me that the recalls were not on my vehicle at the time of purchase per Stellantis (November 7, 2025) which in fact they were. They said my car was not protected under Lemon Law which it is. And a number of other misinformation. I bought the car for around $35,000 and in 6 months the value depreciated to $20,000 per the sales manager Michael Morris. They claimed to have no access to this purchase in their database.

NHTSA Complaint Draft I am filing a follow-up complaint regarding Recall 78C on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. This recall involves risk of catastrophic engine failure, loss of propulsion, and potential fire. It has now been approximately 5 months since the recall was issued, and there is still no remedy available. I have completed all other recalls that had remedies and have fully complied with all manufacturer instructions. Due to the safety concerns and lack of a remedy, I was instructed by Stellantis to obtain a rental vehicle when a loaner was not provided. I incurred out-of-pocket rental expenses based on this guidance. However, despite multiple follow-up emails, Stellantis has failed to provide any reimbursement process, timeline, or response regarding these expenses. Additionally, I have received conflicting and unclear guidance regarding safe operation of the vehicle, including whether it can be driven or charged. This has significantly impacted my ability to safely use the vehicle for its intended purpose. At this point, I have made multiple documented attempts to resolve this directly with Stellantis and have received no response. This situation reflects a lack of remedy, lack of communication, and failure to reimburse expenses incurred under manufacturer direction. Immediate action and oversight are needed.

I am the owner of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe which is currently subject to two urgent safety recalls: Recall 68C (NHTSA 25V-741) regarding a high-voltage battery fire risk, and Recall 95B (NHTSA 25V-766) regarding engine sand contamination. On March 13, 2026, I attempted to have these recalls addressed at an authorized dealership (Brooksville Jeep). I reported two specific safety symptoms: Abnormal loud engine noise during acceleration and shifting, which is a documented warning sign of catastrophic engine failure under Recall 95B. Significant electric range depletion (a 10% drop from 32 miles to 29 miles), indicating potential battery cell instability under Recall 68C. Despite these reported safety symptoms and the official "Park Outside / Do Not Charge" advisory, the dealership and the manufacturer's recall department refused to provide a loaner or rental vehicle. They instead placed me on a "waitlist" and instructed me to continue driving the vehicle. By refusing to provide a safe, non-defective loaner vehicle while remedies are "under development," the manufacturer is forcing me to operate a vehicle that is a documented fire and stalling hazard. This puts my safety, the safety of my passengers, and my property at risk of a thermal event or a sudden loss of propulsion on public roads

My 2024 grand jeep Cherokee 4xe was purchased brand new in 2025. Since then it was been in the shop on numerous occasions. Recalls with no remedies. The car lost power on the interstate with my child in the car. This is going to cause death or serious injury. This car needs to be purchased back by Jeep. I am paying on a loan for an undriveable car at no fault of my own. I was told by the car salesman that this vehicle was in great condition. They knew the issues when selling me the car late last year.

See attached document for complaint. Safety Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741- High-Voltage Battery Fire Risk On or about November 6, 2025, FCA issued Safety Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741, advising owners of a high-voltage battery fire risk. The recall notice explicitly states: • "A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle." • "Owners are advised to refrain from recharging." • "FC~ US is advising owners to park away from structures or other vehicles until the remedy is obtained." • "The remedy for this condition is not currently available." These instructions effectively prohibit safe and normal use of a plug-in hybrid vehicle and raise serious concerns regarding public safety and property risk. Page 1 of 4 Dealer Visit and Lack of Remedy On December 3, 2025, I presented t he vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealer: Bob Johnson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram - Watertown 18712 US-11, Watertown, NY 13601 Phone: (315) 965-8072 Contact: John (Service Manager) The dealer confirmed that no repair remedy existed at that time. I requested a formal repair order documenting the visit and recall status; however, the dealer refused to provide a repair order, instead offering only a coverage report indicating the recall as active with "Parts not available." Despite my explanation that documentation was required under New York State law, the dealer declined to issue a repair order. Manufacturer Contact Issues On December 3, 2025, I attempted to contact Jeep Cares to open a warranty or recall case. On two occasions, my calls were disconnected. A case was event ua lly opened: • Jeep Case Number: [XXX] I was later notified around December 24, 2025 t hat a potential remedy might be available involving a software reflash and possible high-voltage battery replacement. On December 29, 2025, I contacted t he dealer to schedule service. The earl iest available appointment was January 14, 2026, despite explaining the seriousness of the fire risk and safety warnings. Additional Recall: Safety Recall 78C / NHTSA 25V-766 - Engine Fire Risk On January 4, 2026, I received notice of a second reca ll affecting this vehicle: Safety Recall 78C / NHTSA 25V-766 - 2.0L Engine Fire Risk This recall stat es: • "A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle as well as property damage." • "A loss of drive power may result in a vehicle crash without prior warning." • " The remedy for this condition is not currently available." Page 2 of 4 This second unresolved fire-related recall compounds t he safety risk and further limits the vehicle's safe operation. Safety Impact Due to these recalls: • The vehicle cannot be safely charged. • The vehicle cannot be safely parked near structures or other vehicles. • The vehicle presents a documented fire risk to occupants and the public. • The vehicle has been effectively out of service for more than 30 days. The vehicle is primarily driven by my pregnant wife, who no longer feels safe operating or parking the vehicle under these conditions. These vehicles need to be taken off the road and Stellantis needs to buy them back. 4 recalls all related to fires and/or failure of propulsion at speed that can cause accidents. Now I have 2 more open recalls, one for battery fire risk and another for the gasoline engine fire risk. Both the battery and gas engine systems on this vehicle are not safe enough to drive but there is no available fix for either. If the vehicles are unsafe enough to warrant these safety recalls with no fix then they should not be on the roads and those of us that are stuck with them should have relief from the manufacturer to get rid of them.

Battery system still malfunctions after both 73C and 68C were performed by dealer. After these "updates to software" my battery discharges to unusable levels. This occurs after a full charge and the vehicle sets for three to four days locked and parked. I have not had the use of my hybrid system now for over three months. I'm having to drive using engine only and getting only 22 miles to the gallon, well under the advertised on the window sticker mileage. Keeping in mind that the engine is also under recall, with sand in the engine, with NO remedy in sight until second quarter of next year. Vehicle is totally unsafe to drive and my local dealer is trying to find a solution, however, stellantis has nothing in the works to fix the problems. I'm [XXX] and a failing vehicle could lead to my injury or death. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have this 2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe on lease and it has had multiple safety recalls since I have acquired this vehicle. The latest recall has no fix and can result in an engine fire. Not only do I not feel safe in this vehicle; I am unable to charge the battery b/c this can cause a fire. This negates the purpose of having this vehicle and paying a premium for it. NHTSA campaign number: 25V741. Jeep’s current recall number is 68C. Prior recall numbers were 24V720 and 23V787. I am requesting an early termination of this lease w/o penalty. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and contacted Stellantis directly and they refuse to take back the car due to a recall.

As I was driving onto the highway I reached to about 70 mph. The vehicle said “service electric system” on the dashboard and instantly the vehicle lost power and turned off. It then shifted from drive to park without warning as I was still on the highway. I pulled over safely without causing an accident and turned the vehicle completely off.

Subject: 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Safety Defects, Recall Failures, and Loss of Safe Vehicle Use Complaint Narrative: I am the owner of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid vehicle manufactured by FCA US LLC / Stellantis. I am filing this complaint due to ongoing safety-related defects and recall-related concerns affecting the vehicle, including repeated recalls, reduced confidence in vehicle safety, loss of vehicle use, and concerns regarding battery system reliability and fire risk. My vehicle has been subject to multiple recalls and/or service campaigns involving the high-voltage battery system and related charging/safety systems. These recalls and warnings have created serious concern regarding the safe operation, charging, parking, and ownership of the vehicle. Specific concerns include: Repeated recall notices affecting vehicle safety Concerns regarding high-voltage battery failure and/or fire risk Instructions or warnings affecting normal use of the vehicle, including charging limitations and parking restrictions Significant inconvenience and loss of use Time spent at dealership service departments for inspections, software updates, or attempted remedies Recent, additional recall 78C/NHTSA 25V-766 Reduced reliability and diminished confidence in the safety of the vehicle Potential diminished resale value due to ongoing recall history The repeated nature of these issues raises concerns that the remedies may not fully resolve the underlying defects. As an owner, I no longer feel confident in the long-term safety and reliability of this vehicle. I request that NHTSA continue investigating the safety and effectiveness of the recall remedies affecting Jeep 4xe plug-in hybrid vehicles and evaluate whether consumers are receiving adequate permanent repairs and protections. I am [XXX] , lessee of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4xe, VIN [XXX] . This vehicle is subject to three open safety recalls, including FCA Recall No. 78C (NHTSA 25V-766), which states the engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process, leading to catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, or sudden unrecoverable loss of propulsion. Stellantis has confirmed there is no available repair and no parts — the recall status reads "Parts Unavailable" and "Incomplete." I am a father of three young children. My wife and I use this vehicle daily, including to transport our kids to school. Every day we face the impossible choice of putting our children in a vehicle the manufacturer itself says could catch fire or lose all power without warning. I reported this to the dealer, Westbury Jeep, on February 10, 2026. They acknowledged the danger but said that replacement vechicles can only be provided by the lessor, Stallantis. I then wrote to Stellantis's executive team. The only response came from [XXX] , Customer Care & Experience Executive Referrals Manager [XXX] , [XXX] ), who offered to cover two lease payments and a gas card. She asked me to send my lease information so Stellantis Financial Services could follow up. I sent it. Stellantis Financial never responded — not a call, not an email, nothing. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Stellantis's post-recall conduct and contact [XXX] regarding my case (XXX XXX). Despite acknowledging a life-threatening defect with no fix, Stellantis continues to collect $590 per month in lease payments while leaving my family in danger. I need a safe replacement vehicle immediately and a full refund of all payments made on this unsafe vehicle. Stellantis's response has been wholly inadequate. Avis rented me this car with an active safety recall. The key fob even had a small sticker on it that had "Safety Recall" handwritten on it, indicating they were aware there was an active safety recall (these things are literally lighting on fire) -- and put me and my family's lives at risk. This is a flagrant violation of the Raechel and Jacqueline Houck Safe Rental Car Act. They refused to fully refund me for this glaring breach in safety.

Manufacturer officially admits a risk of catastrophic engine failure and vehicle fire due to sand contamination, but states that no remedy is available. There is no remedy for the engine fire risk (Recall 78C). I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. The dealership (Fred BEANS, Doylestown PA) confirmed the recalls but cannot fix the engine issue. I am requesting a vehicle repurchase (buyback) because the safety risk is unresolvable at this time. I am filing this complaint because my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is subject to a high-priority safety recall (25V-766) involving catastrophic engine failure and vehicle fire risk. Despite the manufacturer admitting that a remedy is currently unavailable, I have attempted to resolve this through Jeep Customer Care (Case #95326573). However, the Case Managers have failed to provide any resolution or safety assurance. I have informed them that I do not feel safe operating a vehicle that could catch fire or lose power on the highway, yet they continue to delay the process and offer no alternatives. Management at Jeep Cares is not solving this issue and has left me stuck with an unsafe, fire-prone vehicle. The lack of a remedy combined with the lack of effective corporate support is unacceptable for a safety-critical defect. I am requesting NHTSA's assistance in ensuring the manufacturer takes immediate responsibility for this dangerous situation.

I am reporting a safety concern involving a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 4xe. In under 15,000 miles, this vehicle has been subject to multiple safety recalls, including: Recall 78C – Engine fire risk (no remedy available) Recall 68C – Engine fire risk Four additional recalls, and Two engine warning events, indicating potential drivetrain or electrical instability The repeated nature of these defects, particularly multiple engine fire–related recalls, raises concern about the ongoing safety of this vehicle platform. There is currently no available remedy for Recall 78C. Despite this, the vehicle remains in active service under a lease, creating a situation where safe operation cannot be reasonably assured. I am requesting NHTSA review of: the adequacy and timeliness of remedies for these recalls, whether affected leased vehicles should remain in service when no fix exists, and manufacturer handling of vehicles with repeated safety failures.

I have had multiple issues with glitches in the electrical system. Specifically relating to the screen. It will shut off on its own, it will switch screens on its own and more recently, completely off. I was unable to get the black screen to turn on for quite a while, I turned the vehicle off multiple times, I also tried a hard reset multiple times for it finally decided to work. At times, the backup camera does not pop onto the screen. My issues are very similar to the recall, jeeps with electrical issues, but mine has not been recalled.

Vehicle battery(s) consistently fail. Batteries have already been replaced once but they persist to fail especially if the vehicle sits for 1-2 days. This causes the vehicle to either not start at all, or starts, but then fails when you attempt to restart, once at your destination, leaving you stranded. No warnings. This was reported to the dealer when it originally occurred. Apparently there is a wide spread issue with this year vehicle due to a parasitic drain on the batteries from the vehicles electronics. Original issue was 01/01/2026 and again on 04/09/2026.

Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am writing to report an urgent safety concern regarding my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hybrid, VIN [Insert VIN], which is subject to recall number [Insert Recall Number]. I have contacted Chrysler/Jeep about this recall, but they have informed me that there is currently no remedy available. They have offered no assistance, and I have not been provided any solution to ensure my safety. I am extremely concerned about continuing to operate this vehicle, as it is not safe to drive in its current condition. I am genuinely scared for my safety and the safety of others while using the vehicle. I am requesting guidance from NHTSA on what actions I can take as an owner when a manufacturer is unable to provide a remedy for a safety-related defect. Specifically, I am seeking advice on interim safety measures or any required actions Chrysler/Jeep must take to protect consumers while the recall remedy is unavailable. I would like this report documented so the agency is aware of the immediate risk to consumers posed by delays in remedy availability. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.

The vehicle is not charging to full capacity. I brought it to the dealership, and they informed me there is no available solution. This issue is extremely concerning, as the car poses a fire risk even when turned off. Very concerning: The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is affected by multiple active safety recalls, primarily related to the plug-in hybrid system. The most significant one involving fire risk (NHTSA recall 24V-720 / Chrysler recall 95B) covers 2022–2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe models (among others). This stems from potential internal failure in the high-voltage battery pack, which can lead to fires even when parked or driving.

Complaint Summary: 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe — Battery fire risk recall, instructed not to charge the vehicle, not to park near structures, and no repair available. Description: My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is under multiple safety recalls, including a serious battery fire risk. Jeep is telling owners not to charge the battery, not to park the vehicle near structures or anything that could catch fire, and that there is no repair available. This removes the primary functionality of the vehicle and creates a significant safety hazard. My wife is currently pregnant, and we are extremely concerned about the risk of a vehicle fire at our home. We have spent thousands of dollars on this vehicle, and it cannot be used as intended or stored safely. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate and hold the manufacturer accountable for providing an immediate resolution.

My Jeep does not charge when plugged in. I've had it at the dealership 6 times in the past 2 years and they are unable to fix this. There is a current recall. I am advised to not charge the vehicle, don't park near structures, don't park near other cars. I have no street parking in the village of Fairport during winter. I'm a teacher at an elementary school and there's no where to park away from other cars. I took my Jeep to the dealership after Stellantis approved rental reimbursement until a fix for the recall was developed. Rental reimbursement approval is in 30 day increments. I submitted my receipt to Stellantis for reimbursement as instructed. It's been over a month and I have no reimbursement check. I'm am not out over $2000. waiting for my preapproved rental reimbursement. I turned my rental in and picked up my jeep from the dealership for fear of never being reimbursed for the rental. I am now driving an unsafe vehicle that is being parked next to my home and near cars and busses at school wear I teach. I have email records of all communication with Stellantis/Jeep US customer Care.

The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, and they confirmed they cannot repair recalls 68C, 73C, or 78C because the manufacturer has not provided any remedy or parts. No warning lamps appeared before the recall, but the vehicle is now classified as a fire risk and cannot be charged. The dealership is holding the vehicle because they cannot safely release it back to me due to the high-voltage battery safety hazard. Stellantis has failed to offer any repair timeline, and I believe this is a serious safety issue requiring NHTSA intervention.

Received an alert that the hybrid system had failed. We have not used the vehicle since all of the recalls have been received as we are too afraid for our safety and the safety of others on the road. The Jeep Dealer confirmed there is no solution or fix to any of the recalls and referred us to the leasing company. I requested to be let out of my lease since there was not a resolution, and I am too afraid to drive the vehicle or put my child in it and they denied my request. I have only had the car a few months and it is not fair that I have to pay for something that is a possible danger that I cannot drive because there is no remedy.

Right after the 73c recall, the high voltage battery is experiencing a drain while sitting. Typically the longer it sits after it has been charged, the more depletion it experiences. It is currently at the dealership for this problem. They charged it to 100% on a Friday and was not driven. By Monday, the high voltage battery was at 50%.

INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM FAILURE While driving and using navigation the system aborts, the screen either blanks out or message "system loading". The radio freezes as well or plays music from a different radio station that driver has chosen. This causes driver to take eyes off from road - which is a safety issue while in traffic. The manufacturer contends that this does not pose a safety related situation. We disagree as have had a near accident as result of system aborting while using navigation and not knowing route when this happens.....we try to reboot system by pushing different buttons which takes our eyes from traffic and road conditions. There have been 8 repair attempts and now manufacturer claims a fix may be out in late September. NHTSA literature states this condition is "Distracted Driving"---we completely agree... The manufacturer has been working on this issue for 12 months now and says may be another 3 months or maybe longer. This condition is unsafe and we believe a factory mandated recall should be released.

I am filing this complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall (Recall 78C) on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which has now been open for approximately 139 days without a remedy. This recall involves engine manufacturing contamination that may lead to catastrophic engine failure, loss of propulsion, and potential fire risk. Despite the seriousness of the recall, Stellantis has failed to provide a remedy and has given conflicting and unclear guidance regarding safe operation. At one point, I was instructed to operate the vehicle using the gasoline engine only. I was later told Stellantis cannot provide technical guidance and to contact the dealership. The dealership has stated they have no clear direction from Stellantis. As a result, I have no clear understanding of whether it is safe to operate the vehicle, use electric mode, or rely solely on the gasoline engine. Restricting use to the gasoline engine also prevents use of the plug-in hybrid system, meaning the vehicle cannot be used for its intended purpose, resulting in increased fuel costs over several months. I have also incurred out-of-pocket rental car expenses during recall service. Stellantis indicated reimbursement would be available but has not provided a process or responded to follow-ups. Given the nature of the recall and lack of guidance, I cannot determine if this vehicle is safe to transport my newborn child. At this point, I am concerned with both the unresolved defect and the manufacturer’s failure to provide consistent safety direction, communication, or a path toward resolution.

This vehicle has experienced repeated mechanical and electronic failures since delivery, including hybrid drivetrain faults, heating system malfunctions, and multiple diagnostic repair attempts. The vehicle is also subject to active Safety Recall 78C, which identifies a manufacturing defect that may cause catastrophic engine failure and vehicle fire risk. The manufacturer has acknowledged that a repair remedy is currently unavailable. The dealership that sold and serviced the vehicle has also recently ceased operations following acquisition by Carvana. These conditions materially impair the vehicle’s safety, reliability, and usability.

My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xE has been at the dealership service center since [Date] due to the recall identified as NHTSA Campaign 25V766000. The component involved is the engine, which is still installed in the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. The recall notice states that debris inside the engine may cause engine failure, resulting in loss of drive power or an engine compartment fire. Safety Risk: This issue puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the vehicle could lose power while driving or catch fire unexpectedly. Confirmation of Problem: The problem has been confirmed by the dealership, and they advised that the remedy is still under development. Inspection: The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer’s authorized service center, but no repairs have been performed because there is no available solution. Warning Signs: There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the recall notice. I proactively brought the vehicle in after learning about the recall. Current Situation: I have been without my primary vehicle for an extended period and am currently in a rental provided by Jeep. However, I have received no timeline for a fix, nor any indication if Jeep will replace or buy back the vehicle. This indefinite delay is unacceptable given the severity of the safety risk.

Vehicle is subject to Recalls 68C (Fire Risk) and 78C (Loss of Propulsion). Manufacturer states remedy is 'Not Yet Available.' I am instructed not to charge the battery and to park away from structures. I cannot safely park the vehicle at my home or use the electric propulsion I am paying for. The vehicle presents an immediate fire hazard and risk of catastrophic engine failure on public roads.
NHTSA #11703415
• Component/System: The high-voltage battery system in the plug-in hybrid propulsion system is subject to an active safety recall related to potential fire risk. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. • Safety Risk: The manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the vehicle near structures and to park it away from buildings due to the risk of battery fire. This creates an ongoing safety concern because normal charging and garaging cannot be performed safely, altering how and where the vehicle can be operated and stored. After speaking with my homeowners insurance, if the home were to catch fire through this vehicle, the claim would be denied because there is an active recall stating not to charge the vehicle. • Reproduction/Confirmation: The condition has been confirmed by the manufacturer through the official recall notice. The dealer has not attempted a repair because no remedy is currently available. Despite visiting the dealer, the dealer still states not to charge the car in the house. • Inspections by Others: The vehicle has not required inspection by police or insurance representatives. The issue is acknowledged by the manufacturer as part of the recall, and no repair procedure has been released to dealers. • Warning Lamps/Symptoms: There were no specific warning lamps prior to receiving the recall notice. The issue was identified by the manufacturer and communicated through recall notification rather than a driver-observed failure. The recall notice is the first indication of the problem.

THIS CAR WAS LEASED FOR ITS HYBRID OPTIONS FOR MY TRAVEL TO WORK - BASICALLY I AM PAYING FOR A FEATURE I CAN NOT USE. I ALSO WORRY ABOUT MY FAMILY DRIVING IN IT AS WELL. I WAS NEVER INFORMED BY ANY CORRESPONDENCE FROM STELLANTIS REGARDING THIS RECALL - IT WAS DISCOVERED BY MY OWN RESEARCH FROM NEWS ARTICLES. THERE IS NO IMMEDIATE REMEDY AND STELLANTIS REFUSES TO RELEASE ME FROM MY LEASE. THIS PROBLEM WAS CONFIRMED BY THE DEALERSHIP I LEASED THE VEHICLE FROM. Hello, I am reaching out regarding a serious safety issue involving my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe under an active recall (78C), which Stellantis has acknowledged can cause an engine fire or sudden loss of vehicle function. Despite the severity of this recall, there is currently no remedy available. I have contacted Stellantis corporate multiple times and have been met with consistently poor customer service, including being told I am not allowed to open another case because my issue is “irrelevant” due to it involving a recall. I am leasing a vehicle that is not safe to drive, with a known fire risk and no repair solution. I have formally requested that Stellantis buy back the vehicle without penalty given the safety risk and inability to use the vehicle as intended. They have refused to accept the vehicle back or offer any meaningful resolution. This raises serious concerns about consumer safety and corporate accountability—particularly when a manufacturer acknowledges a defect but refuses to take responsibility for removing unsafe vehicles from the road.

I was driving with my three children in the car (including a newborn) on Monday, September 15th and was in the drive thru at the bank when my Jeep just froze. I luckily had placed it in park but it would neither turn on nor turn off - it was locked and I couldn't do anything to it. Right before it died it said "service hybrid system" and while it was in the weird not on but not off state, the battery icon was illuminated - even though the car was on. I called Stellantis for a tow because I was stuck - however they told me if they couldn't get it into neutral they couldn't tow it. After about 45 minutes the Jeep finally allowed me to turn it off and turn it back on, but I was terrified driving it home. My husband took it to Findlay Jeep in Post Falls on Wednesday, September 17th to see what the error code was and they said something about a cooling system error for the hybrid electrical system. We are taking it to Dishman Dodge on Monday September 22nd because that is the dealership we purchased from and they didn't have a technician who knew how to work on the hybrid system until then. I am also concerned about the current active recall for the propulsion system that has no current fix. I use this vehicle to carry my children around and now there are multiple safety concerns that can have lead to a fatal accident. I have filed a buyback request from Jeep because we have this vehicle on a lease - FCA Case #94280851.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding serious and recurring issues with my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee that create unsafe driving conditions. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, I began experiencing intermittent electrical malfunctions while driving. Without warning, multiple dashboard warning lights and signals activate simultaneously. During these events, I lose confidence in the vehicle’s reliability and safety, as it is unclear whether critical systems are affected. On at least one occasion, the issue forced me to pull over to the side of the road due to safety concerns. The vehicle would not return to normal operation immediately, and I had to repeatedly turn the vehicle off and on for approximately 20 minutes before it reset. In addition, the check engine light has been on for a significant portion of the time since I purchased the vehicle. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership multiple times, but the issue has not been permanently resolved. I am also concerned about multiple safety recalls affecting this vehicle. Some of these recalls currently have no available remedy, which increases the risk and leaves me driving a vehicle that may have known safety defects without a fix. These ongoing issues pose a serious safety risk to me and others on the road. I am requesting that this matter be investigated, and that appropriate action be taken to address these defects. Is it possible to switch to another safe Jeep model?

The trailer lights been thoroughly inspected and no problem with the lights or wiring could be found. The Jeep dealer said the Jeep is "functioning as designed." Apparently, it is designed to shut down all the trailer lights at the most minor change in the current. It is a huge safety issue for me, my horse and anyone that may be behind us. I will be driving along and a "check trailer lights" message comes on - when that happens, I know I have no trailer lights because the Jeep has shut them down. The lights will not go back on until the car reboots, which means it has to be turned off for 15 minutes or so.

Unexpected acceleration pulling into parking spot which caused significant damage to my vehicle and vehicle in front of my vehicle. The hybrid battery was on low and witness outside of vehicle indicated it was making loud whining noise before collision. Filed a complaint with Stellantis. They did nothing. They did not check the hybrid system or software controlling the hybrid system.

My vehicle has an open safety recall (NHTSA Recall 25V-766 / FCA campaign 78C) stating the engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process, which can cause catastrophic engine failure, fire, or sudden loss of propulsion. The recall has been active since November 2025 and the manufacturer states parts are unavailable, so the defect cannot currently be repaired.

Reference prior recall 68C/NHTSA 25V-741. Had Jeep serviced for this recall. Was advised the vehicle passed the software update. Noticing that when the vehicle is in Electric mode there is a loss of power when the % range is at the halfway mark. This was a prior issue as well with recall, 73C/NHTSA 25V-576. No point in taking me to a Jeep dealership to review. They will not do anything unless there is a specific software associated with the issue. Wanted to make note that the issue per my personal vehicle does not appear to be resolved. There is no public correspondence as to what Jeep is rectifying with the battery manufacture. Reporting that this continues to be a dangerous issue.

Driving on highway( no other cars or overpass in area) and sunroof on 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee exploded. Sounded like a shotgun going off, then loud flapping sound . Fortunately the Sun visor was closed or the shattered glass would have caused serious injury to driver & passengers, and could have resulted in serious or even fatal accident. The noise of the explosion scares you & could cause you to have an accident, especially if the sun viser over the sunroof had not been closed. Caused me to have to get to side of road in a construction area at night, not a safe situation. Reported to dealer next morning, were told Chrysler would have to review to see if covered. This vehicle is less than 1 yr old! No warning and no previous problems with sunroof.

Continuously losing power while driving. It almost feels like a drop in power and a tug backwards. It’s not the same as regenerative breaking as I am familiar with that concept. Yesterday it responded differently. Instead of losing power there was a burst of power which almost caused me to crash into the vehicle in front of me. Lastly for the last 6 months my car fuel gauge doesn’t work correctly. It gets stuck at half and doesn’t register the gasoline put in til miles later. This has caused me to run out or gas 3 times, something that never happened in my other vehicles.
NHTSA #11744450
The vehicle was in Hybrid mode. My wife was driving and had slowed to enter a roundabout to yield to another vehicle. When she accelerated and entered the roundabout, the vehicle stalled / shut itself off and flashed Service Hybrid System. She had to coast to a stop as it lost all propulsion. The vehicle started again after shutting it off and letting it go to sleep by opening the door. This same issue happened while slowing, then accelerating into a roundabout while I was driving a few weeks before in "Electric" mode. During this event, it stalled in the middle of the road and was blocking traffic. I had to shut the car off, open the door, wait, then restart it by going to "sport mode" to get the gas engine started.

Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Limited Issue Type: Fuel System / Fuel Gauge / EVAP / Hybrid Interaction Safety Concern: Incorrect fuel-level indication, fuel overflow, unreliable range estimation Description of the Problem: The vehicle’s fuel gauge and range indicator have become inaccurate and erratic. The gauge showed about 95 miles remaining, then dropped rapidly to a low-fuel warning. At the gas station, the pump shut off at approximately 8 gallons, even though the vehicle indicated low fuel. When I manually resumed fueling, gasoline immediately overflowed from the filler neck. There was no gasoline smell prior to this event. After driving away from the station, the remaining range increased, then decreased again, fluctuating by about ±10 miles. The fuel gauge and range readings continue to be inconsistent and unreliable. These symptoms began recently and are getting worse. The vehicle is currently being operated in Hybrid mode only due to an existing recall advising not to charge the battery. This issue creates a safety risk because: The fuel gauge may not reflect the true fuel level, Overflow during refueling poses a fire hazard, and EVAP or tank-pressurization malfunction may be occurring. Frequency: Problem has occurred on multiple consecutive refueling attempts. Safety Risk: Fuel overflow, inaccurate gauge, possible stalling or running out of fuel unexpectedly. Dealer: Issue reported; diagnosis pending. No modifications have been made to the vehicle.

My Jeep Cherokee 4xe is under an open safety recall for a high-voltage battery defect that can cause a fire while the vehicle is parked, charging, or driving. The manufacturer’s instructions require owners to NOT charge the battery and to NOT park the vehicle indoors or near structures. This makes the vehicle unsafe to store or operate. Stellantis has no remedy or repair timeline available. When I contacted Stellantis, they refused to escalate the case or provide assistance. The vehicle poses a serious fire hazard, and I am unable to use it for its intended purpose. I am requesting NHTSA review due to the severity of the safety risk and lack of remedy.

I am submitting a complaint regarding NHTSA Recall 25V-766 affecting my Jeep 4xe vehicle. This recall states that engines may have been contaminated with sand during manufacturing, which can lead to catastrophic engine failure, sudden loss of propulsion, or vehicle fire. My vehicle currently shows the recall as open with the status “remedy not yet available / parts unavailable.” This means there is no repair available to address a known safety defect involving potential loss of propulsion and fire risk. I am concerned that sudden engine failure or loss of propulsion at highway speeds could create a significant crash risk for my vehicle, my passengers, and other motorists. Operating a vehicle with a known defect that could cause sudden engine failure while driving presents a potential crash hazard to occupants and other motorists. Owners are being asked to continue driving these vehicles despite the manufacturer acknowledging the defect and not yet providing a remedy. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the handling and timing of this recall to ensure a timely repair solution is provided to affected

I am submitting this complaint regarding Recall 78C (NHTSA Recall 25V-766) affecting my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The recall states that engine block casting contamination may result in catastrophic engine failure, loss of propulsion, and possible engine fire. This recall has now been open for approximately 120 days without a remedy available. Stellantis has confirmed that engineers are still working to develop a repair and that customers will be notified when a remedy becomes available. Since purchasing this vehicle in May 2024, it has been subject to five recalls within approximately 18 months of ownership: Recall 78C – NHTSA Recall 25V-766 Recall 68C – NHTSA Recall 25V-741 Recall 73C – NHTSA Recall 25V-576 Recall 28C – NHTSA Recall 25V-472 Recall D5B – NHTSA Recall 24V-944 Due to the severity of the defect described in Recall 78C and the number of recalls affecting this vehicle, my family has lost confidence in the safety and reliability of the vehicle. My wife is currently unwilling to ride in the vehicle because of the risk described in the recall. With a newborn child arriving next week, this situation has placed significant strain on our household because we are effectively operating with only one vehicle. I am submitting this complaint to document the ongoing safety concern and the extended delay in providing a remedy for this recall.

On XXX, at approximately 8:45 AM in [XXX], my wife was driving our 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. She was stopped at a red traffic light and, when the light turned green, proceeded to make a normal left turn through the intersection. While approximately halfway through the intersection, the vehicle unexpectedly displayed a forward collision warning ("BRAKE!") and aggressively applied the Automatic Emergency Braking system. The weather was clear and sunny, and there was no apparent vehicle, pedestrian, obstacle, or other hazard in the Jeep's path that would have justified an emergency braking intervention. The unexpected braking caused the Jeep to decelerate abruptly in the middle of the intersection. As a result, a truck traveling behind the Jeep, at an estimated speed of approximately 10 mph, rear-ended the vehicle. A second vehicle then rear-ended the truck, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision. A police report was filed, and my wife was determined not to be at fault for the accident. We are submitting this report because we are concerned that the unexpected activation of the Automatic Emergency Braking system may represent a serious safety issue that could endanger vehicle occupants and other motorists and should be investigated. On 5/11/26 at approximately 7:40pm, I was driving a leased 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee in [XXX] , turning left at the busy intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] . I was in the outside lane of a double left-turn lane with a green left-turn arrow, while opposing traffic was also moving through the intersection in its own turn movement. In the center of the intersection, the vehicle suddenly activated Forward Collision Warning and then Auto Emergency Braking without warning, even though I was lawfully proceeding through the turn. The vehicle stopped abruptly and forcefully in the middle of the intersection, leaving my car stranded in active traffic. I braced for a rear-end collision, which surprisingly did not occur as there must not have been another car behind me After the sudden stop, I was unable to shift the vehicle back into Drive for several seconds. By the time I was able to move the car again, the light had turned red and other lanes of traffic were beginning to proceed. This created an immediate risk of a serious collision from cross traffic or vehicles approaching from behind. The force of the unexpected stop was strong enough to cause neck pain. By chance, no other vehicle struck my car, but this was a near-miss event with clear potential for severe injury or death. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle. In addition, this vehicle has had multiple recalls and other issues, which heightens my concern that this may be part of a broader safety defect involving the Forward Collision Warning, Auto Emergency Braking, or related electronic control systems. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee can falsely detect a collision risk during a lawful left turn and improperly engage automatic braking or otherwise prevent the driver from promptly returning the vehicle to Drive. Relevant documentation can be provided, including VIN, mileage, service records, recall history, and any dealer inspection results INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed and approaching a stopped vehicle, the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking system failed to engage, and the driver needed to depress the brake pedal at the last minute to stop the vehicle. The contact performed a test of the automatic emergency braking system. The contact stated that while two individuals were holding a beige sheet, the contact drove towards the sheet at 70 MPH, and the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking system failed to engage while the vehicle was near the sheet, and the vehicle struck the sheet. The contact then drove towards the sheet at 6 MPH and struck the sheet, then the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking beeping sound engaged. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact provided the recording of the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking system failure to engage as needed; however, the contact was informed that no failure was found. The Service Director at the dealer informed the contact that the engineers for the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was functioning as designed. The manufacturer called the contact and offered monetary compensation to keep the vehicle; however, the contact declined the compensation and requested a trade or buy back assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer offered to trade the vehicle for a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact test drove the vehicle with a staff member from the dealer inside the vehicle, and the vehicle experienced the same failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ) has experienced repeated safety-related failures. With only 3,169 miles, the vehicle became inoperable shortly after purchase and remained at a Florida dealership for 9 months waiting for parts. The hybrid battery and related components were replaced. After picking up the vehicle, while driving from Florida to North Carolina on [XXX], the Check Engine light came back on. A cooling system failure was diagnosed, which caused critical safety systems to stop functioning: the forward collision warning sensor, radar, and driver-assistance features all became disabled. A technician also discovered that a component requiring nine bolts was fastened with only two, indicating improper repair or assembly and creating a serious safety hazard. I brought the vehicle to AutoStar CDJR in Hendersonville, NC, where additional issues were documented: rattling/thumping noise under the vehicle at highway speeds, wind noise entering through the front windshield, and the Check Engine light still on. The advisor noted in writing that the vehicle had been in the Florida dealership for nine months and now shows new faults. As of December 7, 2025, the vehicle is again in the repair shop. I no longer feel safe driving it. The repeated failures of the hybrid/electrical system, cooling system, and critical safety sensors, along with evidence of improper assembly, represent a significant safety risk. I request that NHTSA investigate these defects, as they appear to indicate a broader safety issue with this model. After recall 68c was completed the electric only power is way down. They did not fix the battery, they just reduced performance to try and minimize the risk and save them from replacing the defective part. This is not a fix but a fundamental change in the cars functionality as bought and is not acceptable.

10/24 Loss of power while driving. Dash indicated vehicle was not on. Tried pushing the ignition button but received the message that vehicle could not start unless it was in park. Accessory power continued allowing me to pull to the side of the road. Fortunately I was not on the freeway but on a residential road. Was able to restart after putting the vehicle in park and drove the few blocks to home. Vehicle was operating in Hybrid mode and had 2% left on the battery so it had not switch to ICE mode at the time of the incident. Reported the issue to Jeep and they arranged towing to the dealership. Dealer reports no codes and cannot find an issue. Vehicle is still at the dealer as of 11/1. The September recall was done early in October and since then the hybrid warning light has not come on like it did before the software upgrade. Did not experience a loss of power before the recall software was installed.

This complaint is being filed as an update to prior NHTSA complaints regarding the same vehicle and Recall 78C. The issues described below remain unresolved. My vehicle is subject to Recall 78C, which warns of a defect that may result in catastrophic engine failure due to an engine block casting issue. The recall was issued approximately 90 days ago, and the status remains listed as “remedy under development,” with no repair available and no timeline provided. Since the recall was issued, I have contacted Stellantis three separate times in writing requesting: confirmation whether the vehicle is considered safe to operate while the recall remains open, and transportation accommodation while no remedy exists. None of these emails have received a response. I also contacted two authorized Jeep dealerships seeking transportation assistance. Both initially stated they do not provide loaner vehicles and are not required to follow corporate directives. Both later stated loaner vehicles do exist but were unavailable and subject to a waitlist; however, neither dealership took my information or placed me on a waitlist, nor provided any follow-up. No meaningful transportation accommodation has been provided. I have been advised only that rental reimbursement may be available, which does not prevent continued operation of the vehicle. As a result, I am being forced to continue driving a vehicle under an active safety recall that explicitly warns of possible catastrophic engine failure, without a remedy, without a timeline, and without alternative transportation. This complaint is submitted to document the prolonged lack of a remedy, manufacturer non-response to repeated safety inquiries, failure to provide interim accommodation, and continued requirement that I operate the recalled vehicle.
NHTSA #11714168
This is a follow-up to my previous complaint. My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues to show safety-related system failures that have not been addressed by the dealership or Stellantis. The main new issue is a malfunction in the regenerative charging system. I have this feature turned OFF, yet the vehicle continues to engage regenerative charging while driving. This indicates a failure in the system’s control logic. I am also experiencing intermittent AEB system warnings. The AEB warning light activates randomly during normal driving with no obstacles present, creating uncertainty about whether the system will operate properly when needed. I reported these new issues to the dealership, but they stated they cannot schedule service until after Christmas and cannot provide a loaner vehicle. Stellantis has also not offered a solution. I am forced to continue driving a vehicle with malfunctioning safety and braking-related systems. This is an unresolved and escalating safety defect that requires investigation and immediate manufacturer action.
NHTSA #11704941
I am reporting unresolved safety issues involving multiple open recalls on my Jeep vehicle, including a high-voltage battery recall and an engine recall with no available remedy. Jeep has advised owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from structures or other vehicles due to fire risk, yet also states that owners may continue driving the vehicle. However, the vehicle automatically regenerates battery charge during normal driving even when regenerative braking is turned off. This behavior was not explained in the recall notice and creates confusion about how to safely operate the vehicle while complying with the “do not recharge” guidance. I am also experiencing intermittent Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) warning alerts, which raises additional safety concerns while driving under recall conditions. Another open recall related to the engine currently has no available remedy and has been unresolved for an extended period of time. Despite the safety nature of these recalls, Jeep has declined to provide a loaner vehicle. Jeep Customer Care states loaners are at dealership discretion, while dealerships state they have not received authorization from Jeep. Jeep has instead directed me to an out-of-pocket rental reimbursement program that requires the customer to front rental costs for an unknown duration, which is not financially feasible. I am concerned about being instructed to continue operating a vehicle with known safety risks, conflicting guidance, warning alerts, and no reasonable accommodation while remedies remain unavailable.

The Active Lane Management (ALM) and Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) systems on this 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe fail repeatedly while the vehicle is in motion at highway speeds. The defect began at 384 miles. The ALM system will silently disable itself, and the AEB system forces the vehicle to display an 'AEB Limited Functionality Service Required' warning. Following six distinct repair attempts, the authorized servicing dealer (Eide Chrysler) stated in writing via text message on March 5, 2026, that this is a 'known issue' and that FCA engineering currently has 'no fix' available. The manufacturer has attempted to dismiss the ongoing hardware failure as a resolved hybrid battery software recall, but the collision avoidance systems remain actively defective. Because the steering overcorrection and sudden loss of emergency braking present an immediate crash risk, the vehicle is unsafe to operate.

On 11 October 2025, I was driving on the Interstate when an error message appeared in the cluster "Active Lane Management (ALM) Unavailable Service Required". The Lane Assistance turned OFF and could not be turned back ON until vehicle was restarted. I called the dealership and requested an appointment. They stated that unless they could repeat the issue, an appointment would be useless. The ALM error message disappeared on restart of the vehicle. On 02 January 2026, I started the vehicle when an error message appeared in the cluster "Auto Emergency Break (AEB) Limited Functionality Service Required". The Lane Assistance turned OFF but could be turned back ON. The vehicle visited the dealership on 13 February 2026 and the AEB error was repeated numerous times on start by dealership personnel. On Monday, 23 February 2026, vehicle was left at dealership for 10 days. They performed numerous software updates and returned vehicle to me on 05 March 2026. On 09 March 2026, AEB Error message appeared in cluster. Took vehicle immediately to dealership and they refused to take it back in for service. They stated Jeep had no idea how to resolve and I had to wait on a solution. AEB message happened again on 14 March 2026, 31 March 2026, 01 April 2026, 05 May 2026, 08 May 2026, 21 May 2026. On 05 May 2026, the AEB error and ALM error appeared on the same day. I drove the vehicle to the dealership and they retrieved error code U045D. Dealership finally agreed to take vehicle back in for service on Monday, 25 May 2026 which is where is still sitting today, 05 Jun 2026. Initially, dealership stated Jeep had release another software update but then 24 hours later they stated they had ordered a new cluster. The new cluster was cancelled by Jeep so they ordered it again. Dealership stated they are waiting on a new cluster to arrive. I have no idea if AEB system works or not which to me is a major safety issue. Also, how can I trust this vehicle ever again!

I have been having this error message appear intermittently in the car upon starting the vehicle since I purchased the vehicle in August 2024. See attached photo. The message appears seconds after starting up and will go away. Lane keep assist will turn off but I can turn it back on. Additionally, I have had a similar occurrence in multiple occasions while driving where these systems will turn off and present an orange light on the dashboard. I’m not able to turn the systems back on when this happens. It will reset itself after turning the car on and then off. I have had it in the dealer for this. The explanation was if the battery is below 80% charge this will happen. Seems like a weird response. You would think that if it happens once when the battery is allegedly under 80% charge, if you immediately turn off the car, and restart it ( not giving the car time to charge) it would happen again. I have tested that and it appears untrue. Appears to be some sort of software or sensor issues within the car. I have seen this issue online and the dealer seemed familiar with it on other cars.

Component Failure: This vehicle has suffered a recurring "Loss of Motive Power" (LMP) while in motion. On [XXX], for the third time, the internal combustion engine shut off completely while the vehicle was being driven in traffic. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This incident occurred on a public road in New York during a severe winter storm with over a foot of snow on the ground. There were two children in the vehicle. The sudden loss of propulsion in heavy traffic and hazardous weather conditions created an immediate risk of a rear-end collision and left my family stranded without power or heat in freezing temperatures. Confirmation & Inspection: This is a documented, repeat failure. The manufacturer has confirmed the defect previously and even reimbursed me for a prior repair attempt. However, the issue remains unresolved. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Jeep dealer during previous failures, but the "remedy" provided was ineffective. I am currently awaiting a new inspection for this third occurrence. Symptoms & Warnings: Prior to the total engine shutdown, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminated on the dashboard. In previous instances, the manufacturer cited software errors or internal contamination as the cause. I suspect this is related to existing NHTSA Recall 25V-766 (Engine Sand Contamination) or Recall 25V-710 (Hybrid Control Software Failure). Additional Context: Despite the life-threatening nature of this repeat defect, the local dealership refused to provide a loaner vehicle, and the manufacturer (Jeep Wave) is refusing to fully cover the cost of a rental vehicle. I am currently paying out-of-pocket interest on delayed reimbursements from the manufacturer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am writing to outline my urgent concerns regarding the 78C recall affecting the 2023–2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and 2024–2025 Wrangler 4xe SUVs. This recall was initiated due to a manufacturing defect where casting sand remains in the 2.0L engine, presenting a risk of catastrophic engine failure, sudden power loss, or fire. The potential for engine fire or unexpected power loss represents a significant safety risk to my family. The possibility of fire, even when the vehicle is parked and not in use, puts my home and neighboring properties in danger. This risk is especially heightened during Colorado’s wildfire season, when any vehicle fire could quickly escalate into a larger disaster. Due to the recall, I am unable to use the vehicle as intended under the terms of my lease agreement. I cannot safely operate or charge the vehicle. Furthermore, the requirement to park the vehicle outside does not eliminate the risk of fire, which continues to threaten my property and those nearby. There is currently no available repair or remedy for this defect. As a result, the vehicle is unusable for an indefinite period of time. Given the unresolved safety hazards, inability to use the vehicle, and lack of a repair solution, I formally request that you initiate a buy back of my affected vehicle. This action is necessary to ensure my family’s safety and to resolve the ongoing hardship caused by this recall.

I am filing a complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which currently has a high-voltage battery fire-risk recall with no remedy available. This recall states the vehicle should not be parked in garages or near structures due to fire risk. This makes the vehicle unsafe to use as intended. My vehicle has also experienced four total recalls, repeated check-engine warnings, and it was in the service department recently (within the last week) with no mention of the battery recall and no resolution for the ongoing issues. I have attempted to contact my dealership (Fred Beans Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Doylestown, PA) and the General Manager but have received no response for over a week regarding options for a safe loaner vehicle or next steps. The lack of remedy, the safety risk of fire, the inability to safely park or charge the vehicle, and the dealership’s failure to respond place my family at risk and leave the vehicle effectively unusable. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in documenting and escalating this unresolved and hazardous situation.

I am the owner of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WL) subject to Safety Recall 12B / NHTSA 24V-130, concerning high beam headlamps that fail to respond when the master lighting switch is set to the AUTO position. I contacted Flagship Chrysler to schedule the free recall repair. The dealer refused to perform the service, claiming my vehicle does not qualify because it lacks the Auto High Beam feature (sales code LMS). However, according to the official recall documentation, the recall applies specifically to vehicles WITHOUT the Auto High Beam Headlamps feature (sales code LMS). My vehicle does have the Auto Lights function but does not have Auto High Beam — which is precisely the condition described in the recall scope. The dealer appears to be confusing Auto Lights with Auto High Beam, and is incorrectly excluding my vehicle from a mandatory safety recall. This repair is required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108 S9.4, and I am being denied a free remedy I am legally entitled to. I am requesting NHTSA's assistance in ensuring the dealer complies with their legal obligation to perform this recall repair at no charge.

The rear turn signal on the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee is very small. Following vehicles seem to have difficulty in seeing a signaled turn. This condition is exacerbated when driving into the sun. On several occasions, when attempting a left-hand turn and stopped for oncoming traffic, following vehicles have had to brake hard to avoid a rear end collision. This puts the occupants of both vehicles at risk for injury. It is unknown if this condition has been reported to the manufacturer. Because it is a design issue it is unlikely to be resolved by a dealer. The turn signal indicator in the instrument panel was functioning and a visual conformation of the functioning turn signal was made after the incident.

When accelerating, the car suddenly jerks and stops moving at a consistent speed. This happened multiple times over the last 8 months or so. Sometimes it happens immediately after backing out of my driveway. It has also happened while driving on a highway at high speeds (65mph) where I've nearly been involved in high speed accidents. There was a recall back in November that claimed this was a software issue, however, it has continued to happen. No warning lights come on.

While driving 70mph the vehicle had a sudden loss of power which required me to quickly navigate over two lanes of highway traffic to the right shoulder. I had no power or ability to accelerate. I was in hybrid mode with adaptive cruise control active. Upon safely making it to the shoulder of the road, I saw message on the dash saying something about electrical mode unavailable. I turned the vehicle off completely and back on again after waiting approximately 30 seconds. The error message cleared and the vehicle operated normally. This has not happened again after another 1,000 miles of driving, but it is currently being seen at the dealer for another issue with that will not allow electric mode operation, only combustion engine. We believe we may have a vehicle in the 1% outlined in NHTSA 25v-576 and are waiting a solution from the manufacturer.

On 10/19/2025, my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe experienced a serious electrical malfunction. When I attempted to start the vehicle, it became stuck in RUN mode and would not shift into Drive. The vehicle also would not shut off — even after pressing the start/stop button multiple times. The hybrid system remained active, and the dashboard stayed illuminated. The only way to power the vehicle down was to disconnect the 12-volt battery manually. This created a significant safety concern, as the vehicle could have remained running unattended or in an enclosed space. Afterward, the check engine light came on. The dealership later stated they “just reset the ECM,” but no explanation was provided for why the vehicle failed to shut off or shift out of Park. This incident indicates a possible defect in the electrical, powertrain, or propulsion control system. It poses a safety risk to occupants and anyone nearby if the issue reoccurs.

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (plug-in hybrid), VIN: 1C4RJYB69RC714841, due to repeated loss of propulsion events while driving, including during highway merging. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has: Shifted into neutral without any driver input and failed to accelerate while merging onto a highway, behaving as though it was stuck in a gear or in a protective failsafe state Most recently, while accelerating onto a highway, the vehicle would not respond to the accelerator pedal, forcing me to pull off the roadway. I had to place the vehicle into Park, wait briefly, and then resume driving in order to restore propulsion. Twice i had to perform this on the on ramp. Very dangerous! These are the most recent incidents that have occurred, but the issue has happened at least half a dozen times before. Only now, more often. While driving in Hybrid mode (on January 17th, 18th with my daughter present; also occurred on Jan 22 (after leaving Jeep dealer and having performed TCM & PCM updates), Jan. 23 & 24) With the hybrid battery depleted (normal operating condition) With no warning lights, alerts, or messages displayed before or during the events The vehicle was taken to an authorized Jeep dealership (Safford Brown in Sterling, VA), where PCM and TCM software updates were completed, and the dealer reported “no issues found.” Despite this, the loss of propulsion issue has continued to occur. This condition presents a serious safety risk, particularly during highway merging and acceleration, where the inability to accelerate could result in a collision. The issue appears to be intermittent and does not consistently trigger fault codes or warning indicators. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue for potential investigation, as it involves unexpected loss of drive power while the vehicle is in motion. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Danette Spruston

On 11/1/2025 my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe lost propulsion in a middle of a left turn do to a recall that was sent to me 4 days prior. The jeep completely stopped and caused another person to rear end me. The recall has since been fixed but my damages have not yet been fixed. I was in an accident due to this Jeep recall and I now have damage to my vehicle and a ticket from the police for stopping in the middle of an intersection. I opened a case with jeep customer care 2 weeks ago and haven’t since received ANY update. I need assistance because nobody is taking accountability or fixing anything.

First, this Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4XE is a disaster! It has broken down 4 times so far. And it has been towed to the dealership 3 times. The safety issues is that is has literally stopped in the middle of the road or highway 3 times so far. It has been to shop 4 times to get fixed with no solution at all. I have talked to others who have or had this vehicle with many of the same issues. They hate the car, including m,e, and cannot wait or have gotten rid of the car. Lemon law is my next step. Cannot believe that you have not done a mandatory recall on all of these 4XE Jeeps/.

On 01/08/2026, while driving approximately 55 mph in Scottsdale, Arizona, the sunroof glass on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee suddenly fractured and shattered upward without any known external impact. Ambient temperature was approximately 40-45°F and cabin heat was set to approximately 80°F. There was no rock strike, chip, crater, or starburst impact point observed. The fracture appears to originate in the center of the sunroof panel. Vehicle mileage was approximately 21,924 miles at the time. No crash occurred, but the sudden glass failure created a safety hazard and driver distraction at highway speed and required immediate repair. The vehicle was inspected at Chapman Dodge Scottsdale (Repair Order 7444177). The area service representative denied warranty coverage and attributed it to “impact,” stating the glass can bow upward due to cabin pressure from HVAC, despite no identifiable impact point being documented. I am reporting this as a potential safety defect involving unexpected sunroof glass failure.

Vehicle is a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (PHEV) subject to Safety Recall 78C (25V-766), issued November 2025. The recall states the engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process, which can cause catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and unexpected unrecoverable loss of propulsion. No remedy has been developed or made available by the manufacturer as of April 2026 — more than five months after the recall was issued. The manufacturer has confirmed in writing that an active stop-sale and stop-production order is in effect on all affected 4xe models due to this unresolved defect. Despite this, the manufacturer has simultaneously deemed the vehicle "operable" and denied a buyback request, requiring the consumer to remain in possession of a vehicle that cannot legally be sold due to its unresolved safety status. The manufacturer's written target window for the remedy was February–March 2026. That window has passed with no repair available and no updated timeline provided. The consumer has been without full use of the vehicle since January 2026 and has been paying out of pocket for rental transportation. The defect has not been confirmed by a dealer because no remedy exists for dealers to perform. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred, but the consumer has chosen not to operate the vehicle due to the known fire and catastrophic failure risk documented in the recall notice itself.

I purchased a used 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (approx. 64,000 miles) from EIDE Chrysler in Waite Park, MN on 9/30/2025. On the initial drive home, a “Service 4WD” warning appeared. Before I could return for the axle repair, a Check Engine Light for the hybrid system also appeared. After purchase, I also began experiencing exhaust fumes entering the cabin, which is a health and fire concern. At the time of sale, the dealership provided two contradictory recall printouts for the only recall they disclosed—one stated a remedy was available and one stated no remedy was available. I was verbally told the recall had been repaired. This was inaccurate. After the sale, I discovered that my vehicle now has two open NHTSA safety recalls, both with no available remedies: • 25V741 – High-voltage battery fire-risk recall (federal stop-sale order applies). • 25V766 – Engine contamination recall that may cause engine damage or failure. These recalls did not exist at the time of purchase, but the dealership never notified me when they were issued. Stellantis only notified me of one recall; I had to discover the second by checking my VIN on NHTSA’s site. The drivetrain warning, hybrid-system fault, and exhaust fumes occurred despite very low mileage after purchase. The vehicle currently has multiple unresolved safety defects, including fire risk and potential engine failure, and cannot be repaired due to lack of available remedies. I have opened a case with Jeep/Stellantis (Case #: 94881053). I am reporting these issues because the combination of drivetrain malfunction, hybrid-system warning, cabin exhaust fumes, and two unrepaired safety recalls poses a significant risk to occupants and other drivers.

on 11/28/2025, I received recall notice 68C/NHTSA 25V-741, from FCA US LLC. The recall affects my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe, PIH. The recall states that the vehicle is at risk of catching fire, due to damage that may occur to the high voltage battery, during normal vehicle operation, and that there are no remedies for this condition currently available. In addition, owners are advised to refrain from... 1. Recharging the vehicle 2. Parking near structures 3. Parking near other vehicles Unfortunately, I don't live near an open field, so numbers 2 and 3 are nearly implossible. I contacted the FCE recall hotline today, and was told that someone from their "safe parking and rental car" team would be contacting me. This vehicle is leased through Stellantis motors. I want a simple termination of my lease immediately, so my wife will again be able to drive her car, safely transport our grandson, and park safely in our driveway. I have a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE and have owned it for about 11 months. I bought it new. For the first 7 or 8 months, no problems at all. However, in the last 2 or 3 months, the truck has intermittently shutdown while driving. It's happened on the highway and on local streets. I've taken it to two Jeep dealers for service, and neither could replicate the problem. It's not showing any fault codes when they diagnose. One dealer said they updated the software and should have fixed the issue. It hasn't. I am afraid to drive this vehicle and will never let my wife drive it. I've searched online and see others have had the exact same issues. I need to get this vehicle repaired by Stellantis/Jeep otherwise I'll be forced to return it.

Recall 25V-741 (Manufacturer Recall 68C) affects my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The recall notice states that, due to potential high-voltage battery cell separator damage, the vehicle may catch fire even when powered off. Jeep instructs owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park inside garages or near structures. There is no remedy available, and Jeep has stated that remedy identification may not occur until Q1 2026, with additional delays expected for parts and repairs. As a result of these instructions, I am unable to store the vehicle safely at my home, since my residence only has attached garage parking. My workplace garage has also prohibited these recalled vehicles from entering due to fire risk. The vehicle is currently kept at the dealership because it cannot be safely stored. Jeep’s interim support is insufficient. They offer only $60/day rental reimbursement, which does not cover a comparable vehicle, and only $50 per rental period in taxes, leaving owners with significant out-of-pocket costs while their leased vehicles cannot be used for an extended period. This places owners in the position of either paying significant out-of-pocket expenses for an unsuitable rental vehicle, or continuing to park, store, or charge their vehicles in ways that contradict Jeep’s fire-risk guidance. While the recall is not labeled as a “stop drive,” the instructions functionally prevent safe use or storage of the vehicle. I am reporting this because the current interim guidance and lack of remedy create ongoing fire risk and practical safety issues for owners with no safe place to store the vehicle and no adequate interim solution.
NHTSA #11703300
My vehicle is affected by Recall 25V-741 (FCA recall 68C), which involves a risk of high-voltage battery fire due to potential internal separator damage. FCA’s NHTSA filing instructs owners to refrain from recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures or other vehicles until a remedy is available. The recall remedy is not available. FCA Customer Care advised me by phone that the vehicle is “safe to drive in e-save mode unless symptoms appear,” which contradicts the recall notice because the defect can cause a fire without warning or symptoms. This vehicle automatically recharges the high-voltage battery through regenerative braking and engine charging, making it impossible to comply with the instruction to “refrain from recharging.” During another discussion, a technician also told me that the “stop sale has nothing to do with the safety of the vehicle” and advised me to “drive normally.” When I asked about the prior cases where vehicles covered by this recall had caught fire, the technician replied, “Well, they’re still around, right?” This guidance minimizes the documented fire risk and contradicts the official recall filings. The vehicle cannot be safely used or stored under normal conditions, and no interim solution or transportation has been provided. The dealer stated they were instructed by the manufacturer’s warranty team not to assist and reiterated that no remedy exists. I am reporting the unsafe and contradictory guidance from the manufacturer and the inability to safely use the vehicle while the recall remains unresolved.

My vehicle is subject to FCA Recall #78C / NHTSA Recall #25V-766, which identifies engine contamination that may lead to catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, or unexpected and unrecoverable loss of propulsion, potentially resulting in a crash without prior warning. The recall is currently listed as incomplete, with the remedy under development and no repair parts available. I contacted Stellantis Client Services to request guidance regarding safe operation of the vehicle while this recall remains unresolved and to inquire about any interim accommodations or support. Stellantis has advised me in writing that no assistance, accommodations, or compensation are available at this time and that I should wait until a remedy becomes available. Given the severity of the risks acknowledged in the recall and the absence of any interim safety guidance or mitigation measures, I am submitting this complaint to document the situation and request review.

I am submitting this complaint because my vehicle’s driver seat has a dangerous and unpredictable defect that creates an immediate safety hazard. While the vehicle is in motion, the driver’s seat will suddenly and randomly move forward without warning, pushing the driver into the steering wheel and crushing the leg and footwell area. This is not a minor adjustment issue—it is a sudden mechanical movement that physically forces the driver into an unsafe position while actively operating the vehicle. This has occurred at highway speeds and in heavy traffic, which makes the situation extremely alarming. When the seat unexpectedly moves forward, the driver is forced closer to the steering wheel, restricting movement and making it difficult to properly steer, brake, or maintain control of the vehicle. In those moments, the driver’s ability to safely operate the vehicle is compromised. The only way we have been able to stop the seat from continuing to move forward is to perform an emergency maneuver, pull the vehicle over, completely shut the vehicle off, and restart it in order to reset the system. Until the vehicle is fully turned off and restarted, the seat will not return to its normal position. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership twice after the check engine light came on. Each time, we were told the light was being triggered by the “comfort seat module.” However, despite the system indicating an issue with the comfort seat module, the dealership stated they could not find any problems with the seat or the module itself. This situation is extremely frightening and dangerous. A driver being physically forced forward into the steering wheel while traveling at highway speeds creates a serious risk of losing control of the vehicle. This defect puts not only the occupants of the vehicle at risk, but also other motorists and pedestrians sharing the roadway. This issue needs to be investigated before someone is seriously injured or worse. No driver should have

The vehicle is a leased 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was taken out of service due to two manufacturer safety recalls. The dealership retained possession of the vehicle for approximately eight (8) days to complete recall-related repairs. During this period, the vehicle was not safe to operate and no loaner vehicle or alternate transportation was provided. The dealership instructed us to obtain a rental vehicle, stating verbally that it would be covered. Relying on this instruction, we incurred rental and transportation expenses. After returning the rental, we were forced to rely on other private transportation, including Uber, solely because the recalled vehicle remained unavailable. Despite the vehicle being disabled due to manufacturer safety recalls, the manufacturer has refused to fully reimburse these transportation costs. Throughout this period, we continued to pay our monthly lease payment in full and had no reasonable means of transportation. The vehicle has now been returned. This complaint is submitted to document the handling of safety recall repairs that resulted in extended loss of use, lack of alternate transportation, and out-of-pocket expenses borne by the consumer due to a manufacturer safety defect.

I just recently purchased my vehicle through Mears Mazda locally in Lubbock, TX. At first i did not notice how unsafe it drove due to the recalls. The more i drive the vehicle i notice it feels like there is a resistance in braking or slowing down and getting stuck in certain gears when i am going at a lower speed below 20 mph. It causes concern for me if i am driving in a bigger city or in a traffic jam as this could possibly cause a major accident if a malfunction occurs with the vehicle causing me to cause a multiple vehicle collision on a highway or street. I did ask the dealership prior to signing " Are there any issues known with this model type of Jeep or recalls?" They simply stated no. I have told them that since i had just recently signed my paperwork Friday and trading in my prior vehicle would it be possible to reverse everything, he stated no. I do not know the laws in Texas or if there is an alternate route i can go about this due to it being a safety issue. When I've contacted Jeep there is yet a remedy to fix this issue.

2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe — Ongoing Safety Defects With No Available Remedy I am reporting multiple unresolved safety defects on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that create a serious and ongoing risk of injury or death. I have contacted Stellantis bi-weekly since May, and my dealership has repeatedly stated they have no available repairs, no recommended remedies, and no ability to take the vehicle in due to outstanding recalls with no fix. I am being forced to operate a vehicle that is not safe to drive. 1. High-Pitch Electrical Hum and Continuous Cooling Fans While Parked/Off When the vehicle is turned off and not plugged in, it continues to emit a high-pitch electrical hum and the cooling fans run almost constantly. This behavior only occurs during charging or thermal management cycles, yet it happens while the vehicle is off, producing an abnormal load and possible electrical malfunction. Dealership confirms the issue but states there is no fix. 2. Instrument Cluster and Infotainment Screens Blacking Out While Driving Both digital displays shut off repeatedly while I am driving — up to 20 times per day. This removes access to critical information such as speed, warning indicators, and hybrid system status. The dealership again states they have no repair guidance from Stellantis and cannot resolve the issue. 3. Air Suspension Malfunctioning Hazardously The air suspension system releases and refills abruptly and uncontrollably. When I start the vehicle, the system rapidly raises and lowers regardless of mode or setting. It cycles continuously even when parked. The dealer acknowledges the behavior but reports no available service procedure or repair bulletin. 4. Sudden Uncommanded Acceleration When Slowing to a Stop (Most Dangerous Issue) When decelerating below 20 mph, the vehicle will suddenly rev to 4,000–6,000 RPM and lurch forward, requiring immediate and forceful braking to prevent collision. This happens in all modes (Hybrid, Electric, and e-Save). T

On 2 ocassions the vehicle failed to execute a stop. The first was going down a mild hill at 20 mpg; I applied the brakes and the car started to slow and then the brakes felt like there was a shudder and released, and then engaged again and the car finally did stop. That same day on flat ground the same thing repeated. A second brake problem has occurred multiple times; likely 50 - 60 times. When braking and the car downshifts, the vehicle surges forward before slowing again, esp from 4th down to 3rd, of 3rd down to 2nd gear and 2nd to 1st. I have taken this to Reed Jeep in my hometown of Kansas City and not problem was identified. The car has been driven by others who also felt the same. These issues can put others at risk because they have occured when others are driving and they could injure a pedstrian or cause an MVA when the car does not stop. I have ceased driving the vehicle because of this and the battery fire concern and the engine failure from sand concern.

The Active Lane Management (ALM) system shuts itself off which the displays a warning on the the instrument panel to indicate it has been disabled. If you try to turn it back on manually, it gives a warning that the system is unavailable and service is required. It will not allow you to manually turn the ALM system back on. I've taken it back to the dealership (9/7/25 repair ticket attached) where it was purchased but there were no computer codes shown to indicate what the problem was. They did an system update which did not fix the problem. Shutting off the engine and re-starting will clear this issue and you don't know when it may reappear (it could be the same day or possibly several weeks before it does it again). The service department has suggested I not shut off the engine but immediately bring it to them to see when this happens so they can run a scan for potential code(s) but they're an hour away and not always open when this occurs. My vehicle was purchased January, 2025 and has 10,300 miles on it now. I have a photo of the service required notification from September 4, 2025 showing mileage of 7,988 (attached). It had been doing this for approximately a month before I was able to get the photo. It continues to be an intermittent problem resulting in the loss of a safety feature of this vehicle.

Emergency electric brake system has set up a number of times on its own always when it was parked. I was towing the car behind a motorhome ,it is 2024 grand Cherokee Jeep Summit with approximately 6600 miles on it ,the electric emergency break system set up going down the road at 50 mile an hour behind the motorhome. The motorhome has 650 hp engine. I didn’t even feel the brakes set up on the car. I saw a lot of smoke behind the motorhome . I pulled over and it turned out the electric brake set and I couldn’t get it to release. I called the dealer where I bought it to see if they could tell me how to release it. They referred me to jeep, I thought sure that they’d have someone but they referred me to a jeep dealer in Santa Fe, New Mexico The dealership had a tow co haul it to the dealership and told me tow ins were 3 to 4 weeks out before they could get in and look at them . After a month and they had not looked at it I had it hauled to Mike Shaw Jeep where I bought it. My concern is that had I been driving that car on interstate highways in Colorado 75 mph or states where it’s 85 miles an hour and the brake set up I’m going to be in the ditch or in the front of another vehicle killing my self and family or someone else family. This Jeep needs to be taken off the road before someone is Killed. I refuse to drive it.or let a family member drive it.have had no satisfaction from Jeep dealers. I had to have a car to drive so I had to spend another $60,000 for a car..

I am writing to you regarding a persistent creaking noise in the front end of my vehicle when turning the wheel. I have brought the car in twice already for this issue, but the problem has not been identified or resolved. The vehicle is scheduled to come in again for the same issue. While I have been told it is not a safety concern, I am troubled that the source of the noise remains unknown. Without identifying the root cause, I am uncertain how it can be definitively determined that there is no safety risk. I would appreciate it if you could ensure a thorough investigation is conducted to pinpoint and resolve this creaking noise. But, it does not do it when it is warm out. It started around 25,000 miles and we had to wait until it was cooler outside when they could get it back in and really look at it without the outside tempurature affecting the noise.

While driving a message pops up that says push brake and shift to park and the it shuts down while driving which is a major safety concern. It did it to me twice and could have lead to a significant accident if someone was behind me and if I was on the highway.
