Smoke set off smoke dector in garrage has a burning smell not plastic like metel and the car has a odor like nail polish on the inside. I am writing to provide an urgent update regarding my Jeep. Per our previous discussions, we had intended to coordinate a service visit to the Concord dealership. However, as of today, Jan 27 2026 at approximately 2:29pm, the vehicle has experienced a catastrophic failure and is no longer safe to operate or store in an enclosed structure. The vehicle currently presents a severe fire hazard. While attempting to move it today, the following occurred: Smoke and Melting Odor: The vehicle began emitting a strong odor of melting components. This was severe enough to trigger the heat and smoke detectors in my garage. Erratic Electrical Behavior: Even with the ignition in the "Off" position and the charging cable disconnected, the vehicle continues to make loud clicking and internal cycling noises. Total System Failure: The dashboard displayed multiple critical errors, including “Unable to detect key fob,” “Service electric charging system,” and “Hybrid System Failure.” Loss of Motive Power: The vehicle entered "Turtle Mode" and repeatedly stalled, rendering it undrivable. Immediate Requirements: Given that this vehicle has already undergone three unsuccessful repair attempts and now poses a direct physical threat to my home and safety, I am requesting immediate instructions on how Chrysler intends to safely remove this vehicle from my property. I have documented the alarms, the error messages, and the sounds via video for your engineering team to review. Because of the fire risk, I will not attempt to start, charge, or drive the vehicle to the Concord location (85 miles away). Please confirm receipt of this safety notification immediately and provide a plan for a tow and a final resolution regarding a buyback, as this vehicle is clearly non-conforming and hazardous. Will not let me upload videos and pictures

On approximately January 21st 2026 my vehicle was brought in to Brickell Jeep for the required recall software update. On January 23rd, I was notified that all recalls were complete and that I should come pick up the vehicle. After about a week, I realized that the high voltage battery would not hold a charge and would start to deplete after being fully charged and still plugged in. On February 6th, the vehicle was brought back in for repair. On March 22nd I was told that all was repaired and vehicle was delivered to my home. After about 10 days it one again would not hold a charge. On April 8th, the vehicle was brought back to the dealership. On June 11th I received a call from Stellantis Jeep customer care to inform me that currently, there is no fix for my vehicle and to pick it up and keep it plugged in or it will fail.

My 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe was recalled in the summer/fall because the high voltage battery could catch fire. This is one of many recalls the car has endured (due to battery trouble) since I purchased it in 2022. I called the dealer as soon as I received the letter and was told that no parts were available and to check back later. I drained the electric battery and did not charge it after that. By mid-December, the check engine light came on (as it has done with other recalls). I took it to the Dealer on January 6, 2026 and was told that they would order a part and do a software update in the meantime. Got the car back late January 7 and it wouldn't shift into gear properly when driving. Took it back January 8 and was given a loaner car. The part was supposed to arrive January 22 but has not shown up yet. The dealer has had my car for almost 2 months now. Called Jeep 2/2/26 and 2/23/26 and talked to Recall department. Both times I was told there was nothing that could be done and I just have to wait it out. Also on 2/23/26 I called the number listed on the recall notice at 10:10 AM MST and received the "office is closed" message. Had to call the main Jeep number that the dealer provided. Dealer says they can't do anything and Jeep says it's the Dealer that has to call on the part. Meanwhile I'm in limbo in a rental.

My 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has an active safety recall (#68C – 2020–2025 JL & 2022–2026 WL) related to the battery/electrical system. The dealership informed me that Stellantis does not have a repair or remedy available and does not expect parts until at least April 2026, possibly longer. This means the vehicle cannot be repaired, sold, or traded for over a year. I have been without the car since July 2025, since the last recall B273C-00 – Digital Crash, and now this recall, and have incurred rental costs, insurance, and additional car payments due to loss of use. This is a serious safety concern, and the extended delay is causing significant financial hardship. I am requesting NHTSA review the manufacturer’s delay in providing a remedy for this recall.

On September 11, 2025 the car was in electric mode. Upon turning on the air it gave a message that electric mode was unavailable for Cooling or Heating. It also made knocking sounds like something was loose. It is still giving the error as of September 16, 2025 and I can't drive in electric mode with the AC or defroster on. Does not matter what speed or if the car is parked, it gives the same error.

Red wrench dash warning comes on alerting an issue with the hybrid electrical system. It has been diagnosed by the dealer multiple times with no resolution and warning it could be related to various emergency systems. This has been ongoing since the potential battery fire software update several months ago. Jeep acknowledges the problem but has no fix for it.

Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. Dear NHTSA, I am writing to report a serious concern regarding my vehicle’s sunroof drainage system. Recently, a professional repair shop confirmed that the sunroof drain hose had become disconnected behind the firewall. As a result, water leaked into the interior of the vehicle and caused extensive corrosion to major electrical components, including the wiring harness and fuse box located behind the dashboard. The shop provided an estimate of approximately $5,000 to repair the damage, all directly related to water intrusion from this detached hose. At no point was I ever informed—by the manufacturer, dealership, or in the owner’s manual—that the sunroof drain hose required any type of regular maintenance or inspection. This lack of guidance left me completely unaware of any risk of disconnection or the potential for serious water damage as a result. I am also aware that there was a class-action lawsuit a few years ago related to defective sunroof drainage systems in certain vehicle models, which caused similar issues. Given the similarity in symptoms and consequences, I believe this may point to a broader pattern or design flaw that puts other vehicle owners at risk as well. I respectfully ask that NHTSA investigate this matter as a potential safety or design defect. I am happy to provide photos, shop documentation, or additional details upon request. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed on an incline, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power in the middle of the roadway. The contact was unable to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, but the vehicle was able to be immediately restarted. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure occurred a second time weeks later. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to conclusively provide a diagnostic result, but tentatively related the failure to a software error within the hybrid control processor. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V576000 (Electrical System). The VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 26,000.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V576000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling in a parking lot, the contact attempted to accelerate, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact was unable to move the gear shifter, and the vehicle could not be turned off. The Service Hybrid System and the Battery Failure warning lights were illuminated. The failure lasted for 45 minutes to an hour before the vehicle started functioning properly, and the warning lights were no longer illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure occurred a second time and lasted for a shorter while. The Service Hybrid System warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. While at the deal, it became known that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V576000 (Electrical System); however, there was no part available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 20,900.

Potential fire risk related to the high-voltage battery pack. Our Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe had the battery recall done. The EV battery is discharging 25% each day when not in use. The temperature is 65 to 85 °f each day. I bought it into the Jeep Dealership and they had it for 19 days and did not address this issue. 25% discharging each day is a lot of energy and this is dangerous.

I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety-related failure involving my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. I purchased the vehicle used with approximately 15,000 miles and was informed the previous owners leased it and rarely used it. At approximately 40,000 miles, despite completing all recalls in a timely manner, the vehicle experienced the exact type of hybrid system failure a recall was intended to prevent. The issue began when the hybrid system failed and left the vehicle unsafe to operate. Upon startup, only accessory power activated and the engine would not start. A full power cycle was required before the vehicle started. Immediately afterward, warnings appeared including "Service Hybrid System," "Service Charging System," "EAB Unavailable," "Lane Keep Assist Unavailable," "Pedestrian Braking Unavailable," and "Adaptive Cruise Control Unavailable." The check engine light illuminated and all hybrid modes became unavailable. Shifting became erratic and harsh. Downshifts from 2nd to 1st felt like sudden braking and caused me to hit my head on the steering wheel. During acceleration, the transmission slipped and shifted unpredictably. Fuel economy dropped from approximately 22 MPG in E-Save mode to approximately 10 MPG at highway speeds. Diagnostic code P1E1D was retrieved and I was advised the vehicle was unsafe to drive. While driving to the dealership, the vehicle shut down twice while in motion. During both shutdowns, power steering and braking assistance were lost, posing an extreme risk to myself and others while moving the vehicle off a busy three-lane roadway. Dealership diagnostics determined one or both high-voltage battery systems failed and required replacement. Despite completed recalls, the issue still occurred. Parts were backordered over a month. I believe this failure and recall effectiveness warrant investigation due to the serious safety risks created by loss of propulsion, steering, and braking assistance while driving.

I, [XXX] was driving home from work on Friday, May 1st on [XXX] in [XXX] during heavy traffic when my vehicle suddenly shut off while traveling approximately 65–70 mph. I initially thought I may not have been pressing the accelerator hard enough, but the vehicle would not respond at all. I then looked at the dashboard and saw a message that said “push brake to start.” At that moment I realized the vehicle had shut down completely while I was in active traffic. I had to coast across three lanes of traffic without any propulsion to reach the shoulder. During this time, I was nearly struck twice from behind because I could not maintain speed with surrounding traffic. Once I reached the shoulder, I was able to restart the vehicle. I was extremely shaken and frightened by the incident. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle again. I was very aware that I could have been seriously injured or killed, and I am thankful I was not struck. I am especially concerned about what could have happened if my grandchild had been in the vehicle with me. This incident occurred after a recall repair had already been performed in September 2025 related to powertrain/hybrid system issues. The failure appears to be the same or similar to the condition the recall was intended to correct. After restarting the vehicle, I drove cautiously to my husband’s workplace and left the vehicle parked. Since the incident, I have experienced ongoing anxiety and distress reliving what happened. This vehicle was intended to be a long-term purchase, and it is extremely concerning that it now appears unsafe to operate. This event represents a serious safety hazard. A sudden loss of propulsion at highway speeds without warning creates a high risk of crash, injury, or death. I am requesting that this issue be investigated, as the prior recall repair does not appear to have corrected the problem. I do not feel this vehicle is safe to operate. The vehicle has experienced repeated electrical failures. On multiple occasions the vehicle would not start and lost all electrical power. The main electrical system appears to fail suddenly, causing the vehicle to become inoperable. The vehicle has been to the dealership multiple times for the same issue and was out of service for extended periods. This is a serious safety concern because the vehicle can completely shut down without warning.

On January 23, while driving, the vehicle suddenly shut down and stopped working without warning. I attempted to restart the vehicle several times, but it would not start. Smoke was coming from the engine area, and the vehicle was completely disabled on the road. I was stranded on the roadside until approximately 11:30 PM, waiting for a tow truck to arrive. The vehicle had to be towed and taken to the dealership. The dealership later confirmed that the engine wiring harness had burned and failed. The failed component is currently at the dealership and is available for inspection. This sudden shutdown created a serious safety risk to me and other drivers due to loss of power while driving. The issue was not caused by misuse or modifications. The vehicle has since been inspected by the dealership and a manufacturer (Chrysler) representative.

On September 10th, 2025, at approximately 7:45am, I was driving my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe at 57 mph on the freeway during heavy traffic. The “Service Hybrid Electrical System” warning appeared, and the vehicle immediately stalled and forced itself into emergency park while in motion. This sudden failure created a severe safety hazard for myself and surrounding drivers. I experienced an anxiety attack from the incident and had to call my husband for help. This is not the first time the vehicle has stalled, but it is the most dangerous occurrence to date. This vehicle is unsafe and poses a life-threatening risk on public roads.

Last week I was driving 70MPH on the highway when suddenly I got the red wrench icon with the message "Service Hybrid Electrical System" on the dashboard. After about 7 seconds I then got a "Put foot on brake and press start" message on the screen - while still going 70MPH on the highway. At that point the car died. I had no power - the accelerator pedal did nothing. Luckily, I was able to pull over to the shoulder and stop. Then I did what it said and pressed the brake + start button. The car came back to life, but I didn't have the full hybrid system - I only had gas - the car was not using any electrical power as the battery level remained constant and did not drop as I drove. I continued for another 20 minutes where I stopped for lunch. When I returned to the car it started up normally and continued to run normally after that. This is the 3rd of 4th time the red wrench icon with the Service Hybrid system warning coming up, but on the previous times the message went away after about 5 seconds and the car drove normally. This is the only time that it caused the car to completely die on my while on the highway. Apparently, this has been happening to a *lot* of people after Jeep issued a software update to address the 95b recall last year. Many owners are now afraid to drive their Jeep 4xe for fear of it suddenly dying on the highway at high speeds.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? When driving down a busy road, the car completely stalled with loss of power steering, unable to accelerate or brake, power completely lost in car with all safety lights illuminated on the dashboard. Eventually brakes returned, able to stop car. Unable to restart and loss of power for windows. After several attempts, restarted car with warning lights still present- moved to side of Road. Currently at dealer for inspection- stated that problem was "digital crash input code failure" and that there is not a fix for this at this time. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Car stalled with complete loss of control in the middle of traffic, while accelerating at approximately 15-25 mph. This could have caused an accident, but luckily did not. However, car was stalled in traffic for about 30 mins and unable to move car at all- blocking traffic on busy street. If happened on highway, could have been much worse and also had the potential to cause an accident. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The problem was confirmed by dealer, and said that there is "no fix". According to them, all recalls have been fixed in this vehicle prior to incident and should have fixed this problem by replacing the battery. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Vehicle has been inspected by both dealership service and Chrysler/ Stellantis engineers. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There was 1 warning light message about "EV system hybrid control" needs service, but disappeared after 30 seconds and this appeared about 1 week prior to incident.

While the vehicle is in operation, and without warning, it loses all motive power and coasts to a stop. A warning message is displayed on dash: “Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System.” The vehicle must be turned off then back on before motive power is restored. This is an extreme safety issue, if it were to occur at highway speeds amidst traffic, the likelihood of serious accident is high. Jeep dealer service says this is a known issue with many Jeep 4xe vehicles right now and no fix is known. This event has reoccurred more than 4 times. The most recent was 5/9/25.

I am reporting a safety-related problem involving a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, VIN [XXX] . Dealership records reflect hybrid / charging-related failure, including a documented “service hybrid system message and vehicle will not charge,” repeated recall-related PHEV / high-voltage service, and later jerking during acceleration and deceleration with stored transmission-related fault code P0734. The records also document a passenger front door condition where the door would not open from the interior or exterior. These issues raise concerns relating to vehicle operation, electrical / hybrid system reliability, and occupant egress. The vehicle has required repeated service and caused loss of use. The vehicle has abruptly lost power and shut down while driving. This has happened while pulling out to cross traffic at intersections which have nearly caused an accident from the vehicle abruptly losing power in the middle of the intersection. The emergency braking system has also activated without any obstructions in front of the vehicle resulting in vehicles behind me nearly hitting me. The vehicle's four wheel drive system has also been inoperable with no parts available from Jeep to remedy this specific issue.

The vehicle experienced repeated propulsion loss and powertrain malfunction while driving, creating a serious safety risk. This defect has now been formally acknowledged by FCA/Stellantis through NHTSA Recall 25V576 (filed on September 4, 2025). Prior to the recall, I raised these safety concerns through the NCDS arbitration program, but my case was closed despite documentation of the defect. The arbitration program stated the matter was “resolved,” even though I had rejected the arbitrator’s decision and the case was procedurally closed without binding resolution. After the recall was issued, I requested that my case be reopened under NCDS Rule 20, which allows refiling when new or material evidence is presented. That request was denied, leaving me without a remedy despite the existence of an active recall for the exact defect I had reported. The safety issue remains ongoing. The vehicle has lost propulsion multiple times while in motion, creating risk of collision. Warning messages have appeared on the dashboard prior to failure, and the issue has been reproduced at service centers. This matter highlights both the safety hazard of the defect itself and a procedural concern: consumers may be denied meaningful remedies even after safety recalls are issued.

This complaint involves a violation of safety recall obligations for Jeep Recall 68C (NHTSA Campaign 25V741000) concerning a high-voltage hybrid battery fire hazard. On Friday, May 29, 2026, the vehicle was brought to Carman Chrysler Jeep Dodge (New Castle, DE) for mandatory recall testing. The vehicle failed the manufacturer's diagnostic analysis due to a critical internal cell separator defect. Because of the immediate thermal and fire risk, the dealership service department immediately grounded the vehicle on-site, stating it is completely unsafe to drive or park near structures. Stellantis/FCA has failed to provide a timely remedy or replacement parts, leaving our vehicle stranded on a commercial lot. Furthermore, the manufacturer has refused to provide direct-billed alternative transportation, offering only an out-of-pocket rental reimbursement model. Because parts are delayed for several months, bankrolling thousands of dollars upfront for a rental vehicle is a massive financial burden that is completely unfeasible for our family. The dealership has also failed to provide physical or digital copies of the failed diagnostic paperwork or Repair Order. We are currently left with a grounded vehicle and no viable, safe transportation.

Vehicle recently had recall 68c completed. Was driving in electric mode on the highway at approximately 55mph. Upon pressing accelerator further to increase speed to pass another vehicle, I lost all electric power and the vehicle lost speed down to 40mph, despite accelerator pedal being pressed to the floor. Approx 3-5 seconds later, gas engine started, revved high, vehicle lunged forward to 65mph, continued to accelerate after releasing accelerator pedal, and was able to be slowed by pressing brake. This same situation was replicated 9 hours later on the same highway. Dealer claims this is "normal operation."

How many recalls does one vehicle get in 2 years of ownership get before they take car back? This is the absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned at $64,100 price tag. We went through this battery recall last year at this time and could not use hybrid system for 5 months and had to park outside until recall was performed and god forbid you take grandkids anywhere in it, and with all the countless other problems that are so speratic they cannot fix.Recall number 95B, when weather was finally warm enough for them to perform the diagnostics on it, it was deemed okay. Now I get another recall for same thing and once again it is a fire hazard again and no fix is available according to recall info. So people are suppose to drive around in a $64,100 vehicle that could go on fire and cannot park in garage or use hybrid system for its intended use. Tonight s weather is suppose to be -10 degrees F in Iowa and we keep having problems with the heater blowing cold air and have taken it to dealership for total of 10 days trying to figure this problem out with no resolve yet. When does someone finally say is enough is enough? They have had my Jeep in their dealership 34 days total not counting recalls trying to resolve why the power steering goes out and all safety devices are offline and nnobody can resolve these issues so it is a total crap shoot every time you start it up! The fire hazard thing really bothers me being a past fireman and nobody seems to care, just park your car away from flammable material and structure, are you kidding me! What happens when you have kids and grandkids in this car? Somebody ha to help us! Internet is flooded with these problems with Jeep 4XE. Please help us out of this situation because Stellantis and dealerships do not care! This vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 68C for battery fire risk. The manufacturer issued a directive to park outside away from structures and do not charge the vehicle due to extreme fire risk. Despite having an open case with Jeep, there have been three failed supervisor callbacks with no resolution provided. The remedy is not yet available. The owner refuses to drive this vehicle and refuses to allow his wife to drive it due to serious safety concerns. If the car catches fire while she is driving, there is fear she will not have enough time to protect herself. This is an extremely scary and dangerous situation for the family. Additionally, the owner fears the house could catch fire while sleeping because of this vehicle parked nearby, even following the manufacturer's parking directive. This recall creates an impossible hardship - the vehicle cannot be safely driven or charged, yet no buyback or replacement has been offered. The vehicle was recently purchased in December 2024 and now sits unusable at 39,000 miles due to this unresolved safety defect. The manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy despite multiple contact attempts. A full vehicle buyback or replacement with a non-affected model is the only acceptable resolution to this extreme safety risk.

While driving 65-70mph on the Interstate, my car seemed to have lost power. When I looked at the dash, a red wrench was displayed with a message to have the hybrid electrical system serviced. I pressed down on the accelerator, nothing happened. I immediately started to move into the right lanes since traffic was moving fast. I didn’t want to get hit or cause an accident. By the time I coasted into the far right lane my car seemed to have recovered and reacted appropriately when I pressed on the accelerator. Since this incident, the red wrench and message have flashed on my dashboard at least five more times, but thank goodness I haven’t lost power again. I am taking it into the dealer for inspection. It has not been inspected by anyone yet, but I am afraid to drive it.

This is a major safety risk. While driving in the left lane of the highway the car abruptly turned off and gave a "Service hybrid required" type of message. My husband was almost hit by a truck. We have been trying for MONTHS to get the recall corrected, but the Worcester, MA dealership keeps telling us they don't have any loaners to give us so they can perform the recall.

The jeep will randomly lose cabin heat and blow cold air. It seems to happen mostly when the battery is drained. Took it to dealer but they tried to say it was normal which we stated it can’t be normal to not be able to defrost your windshield in the winter. I called mopar and they opened a case which then the dealer said they had luck changing a coolant valve that tends to stick. Not sure if that will fix issue or have seen people have luck with the ECH. It happened at 36000 miles

Vehicle hybrid system shuts down vehicle at random times. “Service hybrid system” warning comes on, dealership will not fix or acknowledge the issue. The battery is at fire risk if I charge the vehicle. Car has shut down and died multiple times, and does not respond for up to 30 minutes. Car has shut down while driving, putting itself into limp mode, citing the hybrid system. There has been 10 recalls on this vehicle, with new ones coming multiple times a year. Car losing ability to drive, or catching fire due to hybrid system, puts the driver and other drivers on the road in danger of collision or even death. All recalls have been remedied when a solution was available, but vehicle still does not perform up to safety standards.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit Reserve which is affected by recalls 78C and 68C. These recalls have no remedy, no timeline, and no clear information from Stellantis. I no longer feel safe driving my daily driver, and the lack of progress has created a serious safety and reliability issue. Stellantis has instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from buildings or other vehicles. This implies a potential fire risk that many owners cannot avoid, especially those who live in shared parking areas, garages, apartments, or townhomes. This should be treated as a major safety hazard. Stellantis has already attempted software updates and even high voltage battery replacements, but these efforts have not resolved the problem. The fact that previous fixes failed suggests a hardware defect involving the battery system or related components. Stellantis has not provided accurate or transparent information, and owners have no path forward. Because Stellantis advises against charging, the hybrid system cannot be used at all. This eliminates the purpose of the vehicle and increases operating costs. I have spent many hours at dealerships with no solution. Stellantis Customer Care has stated that they will not offer support or compensation and directed me to a third party arbitrator. I respectfully request that NHTSA increase oversight of recalls 78C and 68C, investigate whether Stellantis has properly identified the defect, and determine whether the company is meeting federal recall obligations. I also ask NHTSA to consider whether this situation warrants interim owner compensation or potential buy back evaluation due to ongoing safety risks, failed repairs, and the complete loss of hybrid functionality.

Vehicle had complete system shut down while driving. Multiple warning lights came on and vehicle went completely dead. I could have been severely injured or killed if I had been on a highway or if other cars had been behind me.Jeep stated that it was an airbag sensor. Upon picking up from dealership (May 30) warning light came on stating "service vehicle electric hybrid system". Jeep states this is a software issue with no known fix and that engineering has been notified of problem. Since that time the air conditioning stopped working and warning light continues to come on. Vehicle has been left at dealership as not confident in safety of vehicle.

While driving 30mph in town, the vehicle shut off. The engine quit, lost power steering, dash message said, “Press brake and push button to start.” Conditions were: in e-Save mode, the gas engine was running, battery level was <1%. We came to a stop, pushed the start button, the vehicle started and drove normally. The passenger recorded most of this on video. We did complete the related recall last November.

Yesterday, I had been traveling on the turnpike and was attempting to merge back on from a rest area when the Jeep entered "turtle" or "limp" mode without warning, indicating a failure of the hybrid system. The speed dropped instantly to 2mph and the engine kept revving, generating dark exhaust and a concerning smell (hot, different from regular vehicle exhaust smell). Eventually I was able to move back into the parking area and needed to be towed. I have yet to have it evaluated by a dealership as they are closed today. Following multiple previous hybrid system recalls since purchasing the vehicle Oct 2022, I've experienced numerous malfunctions of the hybrid system (taking it to the dealership multiple times to be evaluated after the "wrench" service hybrid electric system warning showed) over the last 6 months. Each time I've been told a "software reset fixed it" by the dealership. The problems with this hybrid system have been increasing in severity. Currently two recalls are in place due to these hybrid system issues (remedy not available). This was a scary, dangerous experience and I have no confidence in Stellantis resolving this issue.

We've had the red lightening bolt with wrench warning light go off a dozen times since April 2025. 1st time we were setting in traffic after 100+ mile drive down the interstate.i It sounded like the transmission had dropped into part. My wife thought the car behind us had ran into us. I have had it to the dealer many times about this. They tell me the can't duplicate the red warning light going off so there's nothing they can do. I know I'm not the only one. I see post after post on forums about this problem. Hopefully the new recall will take care of the red lightening bolt (Electronic Throttle Control system) warning light.it happening more often since the 1st. It just went off today 9/15/25. Was going slow and didn't loss of power but other times when running down Hwy you definitely notice loss of power.

While driving, the vehicle suddenly shuts down without any prior warning. When this happens, I lose steering and braking capabilities until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The vehicle must then be towed to the service center, where they reset the fault codes in the computer system and return the vehicle to me. There are two recurring diagnostic trouble codes associated with this issue: Digital Crash Input HCP Code The manufacturer and dealership have stated they have no solution for this defect and have advised me to continue driving the vehicle despite the unresolved safety problem. This defect is extremely dangerous — I have been in several situations where I was nearly involved in an accident when the vehicle shut down during motion.

The vehicle will suddenly and without warning lose power while in operation in the middle of traffic. The vehicle will coast to a stop without power, no power steering, no power braking, etc. This is an extreme safety concern. The vehicle losing power in traffic and coming to stop poses serious and great risk to the health and safety of both the occupants and any other vehicles and their occupants on the roadway. This has now occurred multiple times, due to the inability of FCA to repair this defect, my family’s health and safety has been repeatedly endangered and will continue to be endangered with continued use of this vehicle. The most recent occurrence of the vehicle losing power and jeopardizing the life, health, and safety of my family occurred on May 9th, 2025 with the service appointment initiated May 10th, 2025. At this time no further repair attempt has been made by FCA. FCA has finally admitted that this is related to code B273C

1st incident: I pulled out from [XXX] onto [XXX] . As I was accelerating to reach the speed limit the gas pedal became unresponsive around 30-40 mph losing all propulsion. I pushed the gas pedal to the floor and it still did not accelerate, slowing the vehicle down with highway traffic approaching from behind. After 5-10 seconds the pedal suddenly became responsive and the car began to accelerate at a bit of a slower rate than typical for the first few seconds then accelerated as it should. 2nd incident: I was turning from [XXX] , into the driveway at my place of employment. The drive way is on an incline and halfway up the incline the gas pedal again became unresponsive. Due to the incline the vehicle did not continue to coast forward and quickly lost speed at which point I hit the brakes to avoid possibly rolling back into the highway traffic. I then tried the gas pedal again and the vehicle accelerated. This could become extremely dangerous if it were to occur during merging onto a busy highway with traffic moving at high speed, as just one example. The two incidents happened about a month apart. The dealership was not able to replicate the issue as it is a very random occurrence with no warning of when it will happen. No warning lights became visible on the dash. Through a quick google search it became apparent this is a known issue, with several possible quick fixes, which I relayed to the dealership when I took the vehicle in for them to fix it. It was not replicated on their test drive and no codes were showing so I was told they couldn’t do anything unless a code would pop up or they were able to replicate the issue, which is very unlikely to happen during a quick test drive. The dealership stated it has performed all recalls to date. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The Hybrid System had a failure - flashed on the screen - and then shut off/ could not use acceleration pedal. We had it towed to the original dealership of purchase. The Jeep is sitting at the dealership now.

On May 4th, 2025, at approximately 10:50am I was traveling at approximately 65mph on a 6 lane highway when the vehicle lost all all propulsion. Following sequence of events took place on car: - Dashboard warning to service hybrid system flashed - Dashboard message to depress break and push button to start car. - Car lost power. Could not accelerate. Display and radio still worked. - Coasted across 2 lanes of traffic to side of the highway. - Car went into Park and Emergency brake engaged without my action. - Pushed start button and car started. On a busy highway, the vehicle would not accelerate resulting putting both my life and the lives of others on that highway at risk. I am now afraid to drive the vehicle. Vehicle has ALL service notice recalls completed. Vehicle taken to Jeep dealer for service. At dealer for 48 hours now. Dealer does not know how to fix vehicle. Dealer stated they have 4 other vehicles with the same exact problem. Dealer stated Jeep does not have a fix. No ETA for fixed car given.

Was driving on a crowded interstate highway that runs through Denver when my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe suddenly turned off. Luckily, there were no cars in the adjacent lane and I had enough forward momentum to get across that lane and onto the shoulder of the road. There were no warning lights or alarm sounds, the engine just turned off. After reaching the shoulder, I restarted the car and could drive it to a dealership. It is currently at the Jeep dealership undergoing diagnostics. This was an unbelievably dangerous event that could have resulted in a multiple car pile up with injuries or deaths (most likely mine or my wife’s) since we were in such heavy traffic at a speed of about 70 mph. We are the sole owners of the vehicle and have kept up to date on all recalls of which there have been several. We had one recall outstanding which was due to be addressed in a few days which dealt with a potential battery fire. Not sure how that would relate to this event. We have not had any similar event with this car in the roughly 28000 miles we’ve driven it. If the car needs to be inspected, that would be fine. I’d hate to have this happen to anyone else.

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which experienced a serious mechanical failure on [XXX], at approximately [XXX] CDT in Detroit Lakes, MN. While exiting a ZIPS Car Wash at low speed, my vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of power and/or propulsion. I believe the engine shut down without warning, and the vehicle would not respond to throttle input or move forward. I attempted to restart the vehicle, but it remained unresponsive for several seconds. During this time, another vehicle behind me was unable to stop in time and rear-ended my Jeep, causing damage to the rear of the vehicle and my vehicle. This incident appears consistent with two known recalls affecting this model: • NHTSA Recall 25V576 (September 2025) – Hybrid control software defect causing unexpected engine shutdown and loss of propulsion • NHTSA Recall 23V503 (June 2023) – Engine shutdown and loss of drive power due to internal control module failure Required info: • Component/System Failed: Engine and/or propulsion system. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. • Safety Risk: The sudden loss of propulsion left me stalled when exiting the car wash with no ability to move, directly leading to a rear-end collision. My safety and the safety of the driver behind me were put at risk due to the unexpected failure. • Reproduction of Problem: The issue has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but it aligns with known recall conditions. • Inspection Status: The vehicle has not yet been inspected by Jeep or insurance representatives, but I am initiating claims and service requests immediately. A police officer was present but it was on private property and no report was created. I have the officers card and number for follow up as needed. • Warning Lamps or Symptoms: Unknown INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) systems on my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee are consistently failing to operate as intended, creating a significant safety hazard Symptoms include: System Inactivity: The FCW fails to alert or provide braking assistance during clear, high-risk frontal collision scenarios. Persistent Warning Lights: The 'FCW OFF' indicator illuminates on the instrument cluster and cannot be cleared by toggling settings in the Uconnect 5 system. Software Defaults: Following Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, the FCW and Pedestrian Emergency Braking (PEB) systems default to 'OFF' and often remain disabled despite user attempts to re-engage them. Hardware Misalignment/Blinding: Frequent 'ACC/FCW Limited Functionality' messages occur even in clear weather with clean sensors, indicating a potential calibration or module communication failure. I am referencing XXX and Manufacturer Communication XXX regarding these specific software/hardware faults. Despite these known issues, the dealership Ziegler Chrisler Doodge Jeep Ram in Schaumburg, IL has been unable to provide a permanent resolution. On September 17th I was driving approximately 65-70MPH on the freeway when the dashboard flashed the "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" warning and icon. My vehicle lost forward momentum and I slowed at a very rapid pace. I pressed on the gas and the vehicle switched over to the gas system, regained power and I was able to drive without further incident that day. I feel like I could have crashed on the highway and gotten injured, or injured someone else! On October 11th I was driving in a restaurant parking lot, approximately 5 miles per hour and starting to idle when the vehicle dashboard flashed the "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" warning and icon. This time ,the vehicle shifted itself to park suddenly and I received an alert to press the brake to turn the vehicle off. After several attempts, I was able to turn the car off and back on again. Car completely shut off while saying the electrical hybrid system needed to be serviced. Car turned back on and light was off. Check engine light going on and off as well. When going lower speeds the cars rpms rev all the way up, almost to the red, and while your pressing the gas doesn’t move but then jerks and goes forward. Your head slams into the seat and it’s extremely unsafe especially if you are in stop and go traffic. The car has been spitting and sputtering. Brought it to the dealership I just purchased it from, I’ve only made one payment. They stated that Chrysler is aware of the problem but that there is no solution as of right now. Extremely unsafe to drive and do not feel safe with my daughter in the car with the car jerking forward and being delayed with the gas and rpms increasing.

I am a former Transmission Calibration Engineer at Stellantis, so I know what I'm talking about. I experienced an engine stall event while coasting down in speed. I was in town, driving about 30 mph, and coasting (0% pedal). I lightly applied the brakes and while the vehicle was still in motion (coasting) the engine stalled. The information cluster displayed a message that said "put the vehicle in park and restart the engine." I coasted around a corner, came to a stop, put the transmission in Park, and restarted the engine. No MIL or codes were set. I have a scan tool and confirmed later that no codes were set. I'm fairly certain the engine was in DFSO (decel fuel shutoff) when the issue occurred as the conditions were all correct for DFSO (engine was in normal operating temperature range, gear was 5th or 6th when coasting was initiated, and pedal was 0% for several seconds before the issue occurred). Loss of propulsion is an obvious safety concern as I lost control of the vehicle.

I am writing because I am beyond frustrated with the treatment I’ve received from Gwinnett Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (5054 U.S. 78, Stone Mountain, GA 30087 ). I have been a long‑time Jeep customer, and I cannot believe everything that has been going on. This situation has become untenable, and I demand a resolution immediately. Back in May, I brought my Jeep in to have a hybrid electrical vehicle system issue addressed, and I paid for that service in full. In July, the same warning light came back on. When I returned the vehicle to the dealership, they first tried to shift blame—saying perhaps the previous service provider messed something up. Then they told me my engine needed to be replaced. When I reminded them that they were the last ones to work on the car, the tone changed. My vehicle is only a little over two years old—how is an engine replacement justified? They quoted me $14,000 to make this repair. I contacted Jeep Customer Care. Their inspection quoted $18,000, but with warranty coverage I was told I would owe $5,500. Even then, they tried to force me to take out a loan. Reluctantly, I paid the $5,500, as I rely on my vehicle for work and to transport my daughter to and from school. I was required to pay $4,000 upfront before any work would begin, and the engine was ordered. Over a month passed, with several promised completion dates (August 27, 28, 29) that came and went without completion. I flew in on August 29 expecting to pick up my vehicle, only to be told it was not ready because the new engine had been mistakenly sent back instead of the old one. This error is incomprehensible and has severely damaged my trust in the dealership. As of September, I was informed that my Jeep would be completed by September 9. That deadline has passed, and my vehicle remains unfinished. I have incurred additional expenses for flights and Uber/Lyft rides due to the dealership's missed deadlines and miscommunication. Not once was I offered a loaner vehicle, nor did

The right PTU has failed out of nowhere causing a very loud pop and then grinding when driven. The vehicle was inspected by the jeep dealership last week to find that that was the issue. There was no warning or symptoms prior to the problem. After dealer installed recall 24V-720 on 1/15/2025, I started seeing Red Wrench light and warning to Service Hybrid System a few times each month. The warnings only flashed for a few seconds and disappeared - no service engine light. Also, the vehicle failed to charge about half the time. In early May, I was driving (in hybrid mode) about 45 miles per hour, and the Red Wrench light and warning to Service Hybrid System flashed and disappeared. The car would NOT accelerate! I DRIFTED to a safe spot, turned off the car, and restarted and now could accelerate. I was lucky! I brought the vehicle to Jeep on May 19, 2025. It was there for about 10 days and they found nothing - not able to reproduce and no errors logged, etc. They created a STAR Case (#1020705742) and still no solution. This is exactly recall 25V-576. The vehicle always charges now even though Jeep says they only cleared other errors. I brought the vehicle to Jeep on September 10 and they didn't see any saved errors. NO updates to STAR Case. I continue to see the Red Wrench light and warning to Service Hybrid System every week or so. But, have only lost power once. I'm afraid to drive the vehicle - always looking for a place to safely stop. How can a vehicle lose power and not log a Service Engine error! I need a FIX! I looked at selling the vehicle but it has lost a lot of value likely due to all the recalls. I believe the battery has issues and should be replaced. Recall 24V-720 only installed software to watch the battery. However, nothing is ever logged.

While driving the vehicle, several warning lights activated, the first being automatic emergency braking is disabled. The second warning light advised me to not turn the car off until I got to my destination. It further advised that I would not be able to shift gears. The vehicle began to slow down on its own until it came to a complete stop. I was in the middle of an intersection when this happened. The dashboard was displaying a message saying press brake and push button to start car. Nothing happened when I did that. I could not shift gears or get the vehicle to move at all. Even though, I was getting the message to push the button to start the vehicle, I believe the vehicle was actually on. I was stuck near the intersection for one hour with a tow truck on the way when I was finally able to turn the e vehicle off. When it turned back on, the check engine light was on and the vehicle was able to drive. It has now happened three times.

Driving home and car had a sudden loss of power randomly while driving. It would not restart until 5-10 minutes later despite multiple start/stop attempts. On the screen it stated to “plug in to condition battery.” We were in the left lane on a busy road with construction and were almost rear ended multiple times while car was not functional. Have had multiple issues with battery on this 4xe - did recent software update at dealer. I have taken it to dealer previously for battery code (service battery) and they stated they can see code, but unsure of what problem is. No warning lights prior to incident. It sounds like through reviewing on internet this is a common problem with 4xe vehicles and if it hasn’t killed someone yet, it certainly will. We did call 911 for assistance due to the vehicle being disabled in middle of highway, but no official report was made.

While driving on the freeway, the vehicle suddenly lost all power and control. The “Service Hybrid System” warning began flashing, and I experienced a complete powertrain failure. As the vehicle coasted down to under 5 mph, it abruptly slammed into the electronic parking brake and came to a hard stop. This created a serious safety hazard not only for me but for other drivers on the road. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership, where it required a jump-start to regain power. The dealer has been unable to replicate the issue, and no diagnostic trouble codes were found during their scan. Despite this, the failure was severe and unpredictable. There were no warning lights or symptoms prior to the event. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection.

Incident Date: [XXX] Vehicle: 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe | VIN [XXX] | Mileage = 28,853 While driving 20 mph on a paved suburban road in Danville, CA, the driver-side rear lower control arm suddenly fractured without warning. The wheel shifted, and I was barely able to stop safely. Had this occurred at highway speeds, a loss of control—and possible crash—was likely. The Jeep was towed to the selling dealer. After inspection, the service department blamed “witness marks” (small surface nicks) and told me to file an insurance claim, stating it was not a warranty issue. The vehicle has never been in a collision and is driven only on paved roads. A routine dealer service in Dec 2024 reported no suspension concerns. Photos attached show: Clean break of the control arm; Minor nicks cited as impact evidence; Street on which the vehicle was being driven when the control arm failed; The Jeep is marketed as off-road capable. While driving in Hybrid mode, the Jeep threw itself into park. I was at the middle of an intersection. I put it back in drive, then it did it again once I started moving. 1. The hybrid mode threw the car into park while moving. 2. This happened to me a few times in a row, but once in the middle of a major intersection. I was lucky there were no cars that crashed into me. 3. I have brought this into Chrysler, Jeep, Doge of Paulding (Georgia) and they have reached out to the engineers at Chrysler. The service department is telling me that Chrysler is telling them there is no fix to this. I put in a ticket with Chrysler as well and they confirmed this. My ticket number is 93581933 4. the vehicle has only been inspected by the service department at the dealership. 5. I did get a hybrid engine maintenance light one time when it went into park. But not each time it did it.

Within days after completing the 95b recall (24v-720) on my Grand Cherokee 4xe PHEV , the vehicle would periodically flash an error message saying ”service hybrid system” or something to that effect. It would illuminate for just a few seconds. On May 21, I took the vehicle back to the dealership (Brigham-Gill, Natick, MA). They read several codes and after conferring with Jeep, said the vehicle is unsafe to drive. It has remained there parked in their backlot as of July 15. The dealership is awaiting guidance from Jeep and informed me they have several others in the same situation. So there were few issues here 1) if I hadn’t returned to the dealership to ask about these brief flashing messages, I would not have known that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. These messages never stayed illuminated for more than a few seconds, and there is no residual “check engine” light. 2) it is incorrect to say that the 95B recall addressed the issue of the failing batteries if it renders the vehicle in operable. 3) the 95B recall patch software was released in January 2025. I find it hard to believe that as of mid July they’ve been unable to find out why it doesn’t work in all the vehicles as intended. This leads me to question the thoroughness of the regression testing before it was released.

Once a week or so, the vehicle will experience motive power loss while driving. Typically, it's for 3 or 4 seconds and is accompanied by a blinking red "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" warning light on the dashboard. This is very dangerous because for those 3 or 4 seconds, the vehicle will not accelerate/maintain speed. I've had the vehicle at the dealership for the same reason multiple times. The dealership has tried to identify the root cause but so far has not been successful.

On three different occasions, the Jeep randomly turned off on its own. Each time I was stopped, so thankfully I was not injured. I brought it to two different dealerships, one in May 2025 and one in July 2025, and neither of them could fix it. The last dealership advised me not to drive the vehicle due to the safety implications of a stall during driving due to "the digital crash input issue". As a result, I sold my Jeep and bought another vehicle. The vehicle was still under warranty when I sold it.

- I received a "service hybrid system" light while driving (it only appeared for a split second and went away) and I took it to the dealership for troubleshooting. The dealership found a stored code of B273C-00. They contacted their Jeep engineers who have not been forthcoming as to what the issue is, but said the vehicle is not safe to drive, so I am not allowed to have the vehicle back (the same dealership has a 2nd Grand Cherokee 4xe with the same issue). Both vehicles are currently at the dealership and should be available for inspection. From my online research it seems to be tied to the vehicle's crash sensor and high voltage cable harness. There are also numerous other owners in online forums discussing the same issue with their Jeeps (Grand Cherokees and Wranglers). -As Jeep engineers are not allowing myself or others to drive their vehicle with this code, they obviously consider it a safety issue. The scary thing to me is, that had I not happen to see that quick flash of the "service hybrid light" I would be driving this unsafe vehicle without knowing it, as it did not turn on the check engine light, so I had no idea there was a stored code until the dealer checked it out. That means there are probably thousands of folks driving around at risk without even know there is a safety issue. -This issue has apparently been going on for months, as the other Jeep at my dealership has there for months now.

I went to start my car and pull out of a parking lot when the power steering would not turn on. I tried starting and stopping the engine multiple times. I eventually left the car and returned later for it where the power steering was back on and fully functioning. I had a friend drive me and the vehicle to my house to be towed to a jeep dealership the following day. The power steering went out and back on two more times during that 10 min drive. Jeep service received the vehicle the next day and said they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle and reset the computer. I was told to come pick up my car as there was nothing more they could do.

I bought this Jeep new in 2023 and it started making this noise when it had 7000 miles on it. If was normal operational noise, why didn't it have it when it was new? Many owners on Jeep forums (JeepGarage, WLJeepForum, JeepForum, WranglerForum) report: Rattle starts light and worsens with heat soak. The company often states it is a “normal operational noise. ”Some report replacement of the entire sway bar disconnect actuator assembly under warranty resolving the noise temporarily or permanently but there is no standardized procedure. After an hour drive, the loud banging noise is huge distraction while driving. Front passenger head restraint deployed without any accident or reason. Just deployed without cause snapping a plastic bracket so it can’t be manually pushed back into place you have to purchase the entire component. The other oddity is the piece that you need to replace in question has been discontinued. Stellantis has a recall referenced as (20c) but my particular vehicle doesn’t fit in there timeline for that recall. I have a child and it is a head restraint that deployed is an airbag, which is extremely dangerous for anybody that could’ve been sitting in that spot or behind the seat. The piece itself is 700 there is no wholesale for this particular piece so you’re looking at any place that would charge you 700 and then whatever the service or labor fee is which is minimal so we’re talking at least 800 for a piece that has to be with or compatible with a certain part number which is discontinued or it will not work with the system

Issue 1: After several recalls - the battery issue still remains. Often not kicking in and leaving a power deficit (loss of motive power). The gap is short, but when low speed on battery and you push the accellerator to merge/turn, etc. and there is a delay - it can cause an accident. Issue 2: The investigation of alerts of pedestrians - happens intermittently. There has never been a fix. Issue 3: The tire pressure monitoring system fails to read intermittently - a warning on the dash indicates it is not working and to get it checked. Dealership has noted problem, but never fixed. Still occurs 3+ years. Issue 4: Radio/infotainment system blanks out or becomes unresponsive. When relying on this device for navigation, that becomes a problem.

On 01/30/26, I delivered my vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership for the third time in connection with Safety Recall 68C involving the hybrid battery system. The recall addresses a battery defect that carries risk of fire. This is the third occasion on which I have had to leave my vehicle with the dealership because the recall repair has not been successfully completed. During the most recent service appointment, the recall repair procedure failed. I was informed that the hybrid battery would require full replacement and that the vehicle could not be returned to me. The vehicle has remained at the dealership and out of service since that date. As of 02/16/26, I have not been provided with a confirmed estimated time of arrival for the replacement battery. The vehicle remains unusable pending completion of the recall repair. No loaner vehicle was provided when the vehicle was rendered inoperable due to the failed recall repair. I was therefore required to obtain a rental vehicle at my own expense in order to maintain transportation for work and daily obligations. On January 30, I received written authorization from Jeep Customer Care approving rental reimbursement at $60 per day and explicitly listing specific companies as acceptable providers. Based on that written authorization, I secured a rental vehicle within the approved rate. After incurring rental expenses, I was informed reimbursement would be limited to $25 per day due to the rental company I chose being categorized as a third-party provider, despite being specifically listed in the written approval. It is not feasible to obtain a comparable rental vehicle in my area at $25 per day. The reimbursement discrepancy remains unresolved. The vehicle remains out of service. I am continuing to incur rental expenses and will be responsible for paying the difference out of pocket despite having relied on written authorization.

Vehicle was in electric mode and failed to accelerate under electric power. First time was traveling around 45 mph and went to accelerate to 60mph at speed limit change. Battery was around 95% and gas pedal was gently pressed with no acceleration. Once floored and ICE started acceleration continued. Second time was pulling onto the highway and accelerated up to 25mph and continued to press the accelerator and vehicle would not speed up untill gas pedal was all the way to the floor and ICE engine kicked in. Battery was about 50%. Delay in acceleration could have caused rear end accident when pulling onto highway. Issue has not happened before. 68c recall was performed on January 13th. The electronic steering quit working at 55 mph, I was very hard to steer afterwards, there wear other indicator lights besides the steering warning light, I will add a picture of them. I did already do a report but have pictures to show the problem. I kept the core to figure out what happened, there is water in the unit control area for the motor. The issue started at the same time the water pump was leaking, and I believe that caused the water and corrosion in the electronic area. I also have another invoice for the diagnosis from the hudson dealer for about 600 dollars but mislaid it, If I need it I can get a duplicate.

Turned on the car to the find the check engine light was on. Drive 5 minutes to my son’s school to pick him up. Turned the car off, then back on to see if maybe the check engine light would go off. Instead the check engine light, battery light and service hybrid charging system errors appeared on the dash. THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF AND I WAS UNABLE TO PUT IT IN GEAR AT ALL. It left me stranded. I called a tow truck and about 10 min before they were set to arrive I tried turning it off and on again and it started like normal (check engine light still on) Drove 5 min home and it did it again in my driveway. Happened again when my husband started it to take a look. This happened to us one other time about 3 months after we bought the car. We’ve only had it 9 months. Both recalls have been completed. I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe to be a manufacturing or design defect involving the sunroof of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. On or around December 1, 2025, I discovered a severe water leak originating from the sunroof area during normal rainfall. Water entered the vehicle interior without warning and caused substantial damage to the headliner, interior trim, and other interior components. The amount of water intrusion was significant and far beyond what would be expected from normal wear. The vehicle has only around 45,000 miles and is regularly maintained. The leak occurred without any visible damage to the sunroof glass and without prior indication of a problem. The sunroof was fully closed at the time. This suggests a defect related to the sunroof sealing system, drainage system, or overall design rather than misuse or external damage. This defect presents a serious safety concern. Water intrusion inside the vehicle creates the risk of: Electrical system damage or failure, Mold and health hazards, Impaired visibility due to water dripping near the windshield, Distraction to the driver while operating the vehicle. In heavy rain conditions, this defect could reasonably occur while driving, creating a dangerous situation for the driver and passengers. As a result of this defect, my vehicle sustained significant interior damage, requiring repairs. I believe this issue reflects a broader defect in the sunroof design or drainage system rather than an isolated incident. I am concerned that other Jeep Grand Cherokee owners may be experiencing similar failures. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential safety-related defects involving sunroof leakage in Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The severity of the water intrusion and resulting damage indicates a defect that could pose a risk to vehicle safety and occupant well-being.

While driving on a local neighborhood street at approximately 38 miles per hour, ( cruise control possibly engaged) , all the lights on my dashboard suddenly illuminated. A messages appeared stating that service was required for every guidance and braking system. At that moment I became concerned, so I attempted to use the brake. Despite pressing the brake pedal as hard as I could, the car did not slow down. I cannot remember if I downshifted using the paddle shifters on the steering wheel, but I was able to coast to a manageable speed and pull into a parking lot. I then turned the vehicle off and on again, but all the warning lights remained on the dashboard. After waiting for about five minutes, the vehicle was restarted, and this time none of the warning lights were on. Since I was very close to home, I drove the rest of the way very slowly. Later, I searched online and discovered that other people have experienced this same problem. Some of the information I read suggested that water can get into a component, and it had been raining on the day of the incident and the day before. My primary safety concern is what would have happened if I had been approaching a stoplight or driving on a freeway where I needed to stop suddenly. I am confident that I would not have been able to stop in time to avoid a crash. It is frightening to think of what could happen if a child were to run into the street and this happening. This vehicle has had multiple recalls. Anytime that I call in to get serviced. I receive one of these responses from their service department: they can’t replicate the issue, if the lights that came on are no longer on they cannot tell what the problem was, or they fixed it. I’ve had multiple calls and service request with the dealership as well with Stalantas and Chrysler capital. I have pictures of different lights that go off in the dashboard whether it’s the hybrid service whether it’s engine hot, whether it’s the driver assist not working, “vehicle ready to drive”while it’s been driving a while, other issues that I’ve had regarding the components in the vehicle the AC and heat not working properly where you can have it on heat and it doesn’t heat anything or you can have it on AC and it doesn’t cool anything. And then it fixes itself and it starts to work again a few days later. The center screen goes blank sometimes. The radio button on and off sometimes it does not turn on. Sometimes when in reverse the safety system will go off and abruptlystop the car when there is nothing behind it. Currently the vehicle is at the local dealership department in their service department because of a blown gasket, also a known recall per previous research. The hybrid battery had the potential to catch fire and it was recalled for a software update, the 95b update. After this software update was completed, the vehicle would completely shut down, regardless of being parked or while driving. The dealership deemed the vehicle "unsafe to drive" and has provided a loaner until they can correct the problem. In addition to this, the front suspension has been worked on many times, approximately 5-6 times to remedy a clinking noise when turning at full turn. Timing cover leak, replaced by dealer once covered under warranty. Few months later same leak occurred in the same park after dealer replacement. Back to the dealer to have checked, dealer found that the head gasket during manufacture/casting has defect causing the head gasket to protrude into the mounting surface for the timing cover gasket/seal causing improper seal and securement. Dealer got Jeep engineers involved and found it was during manufacture and assembly/casting process. New head gasket being replaced and installed inspection of all mounting surfaces on cylinders valves and pistons for additional damage, and replacing timing cover gasket again. This caused loss of engine oil over time even after dealer fix and replacement the first time, this could cause drivers to not know they are low on engine oil causing potential catastrophic engine damage or failure/seizing during normal operating conditions. This is a common failure in the Jeep 4xe of timing cover seal issues and leaks.

This all happened very quickly and took me by surprise. I crashed through a double cyclone gate, closed garage door, back of the garage, double fence in back of garage, neighbors jacuzie and shed, hit the side of another neighbor's house and AC unit. My car was showing a "service hybrid system" warning light in the months of April and May 2025 intermittantly along with a slight loss of power. I took it to the dealership and was told its a software issue but it's fine. Stellantis is aware of this issue but there is no fix. I brought it back a week later with the same concerns and reading the document the dealership gave me - the 95B recall fix apparently crashed communication modules with my ORC. I expressed safety concerns. The dealership once again cleared codes and told me it was safe to drive. One week later on May 8, 2025, I was driving home from work. Without warning, the car locked up and went limp in the middle of the road. I went from 35mph to 0mph without seconds. I luckily was not rear ended. The dealership opened up another case with STAR. I have since gotten rid of the car due to continuous recalls and issues. I did not feel safe in this car and I feared for myself as well as others on the road. I am only taking the time to report this because there is no fix, my dealership repeadily gave the car back to me (in the notes, it was to be returned to me on 5/12 with no fix), and others are having the same issue.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH around a roundabout, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal before the vehicle stalled. Several unknown warning lights illuminated with an abnormal beeping sound coming from the vehicle. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The contact waited for a while and was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that an air bag sensor might have caused the failure. An unknown part was replaced. The contact stated that the message "Service Hybrid Electric System" was continuously displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer escalated the failure and contacted the engineering departing at the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and filed a claim. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

Earlier this spring, when we started our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the language had changed itself to Italian, the units were metric, the ‘Forward Collision’ off icon was stuck on the dashboard. Also the paddle shifters did not work. In May, 2025, we paid $204.41 to Gary Mathews Motors in Clarksville, TN to ‘diagnose’ and ‘fix’ the issue. Fast forward to this month, and the issue happened again! They didn’t ‘fix’ anything. See forum where HUNDREDS of other owners are experiencing the same exact issues: [XXX] Also see Star bulletin regarding this issue: [XXX] From what I can see in the forums, there is no permanent fix for this issue. Despite this, Jeep/Stellantis keeps charging customers to ‘diagnose’ and ‘fix’ the issue which is a scam/fraud since they know there is no permanent fix. I have reached out to Jeep, and been promised follow-up from one of their specialists that never comes. I have all transcripts and promised timelines to expect follow up that never happen. I will attach photos where they admit they haven’t met the timeline for follow up that was communicated, and as of now, despite additional promises of communication/follow up I still have not heard from them. Having a forward collision system that does not function properly puts myself and others at risk. Also having a dash in units/language you do not understand is also a safety issue. On April 12th my husband and I were driving our Jeep after it had a recall and update to fix the recall of a battery issue on all 4xE models. We were doing 45 mph down the road and it threw an error code that said “Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System”, “Service Emergency Braking System” the Jeep then shut off and said for us to push the brake and press start for us to turn the car on in the middle of the road. We were able to safely get off the road, when we came to a stop the car put itself into park automatically. We had to start it a couple of times to make sure it was ok to turn around and drive home. It was then towed to the dealership. They told us they could see the issue logged in the system but they could not replicate the same issue after driving it. They told us that we had to come and pick up the Jeep and I told them how unsafe that made me feel for us and everyone on the road. They told us there’s nothing they could do for us. We got the car back and another issue arose where are Passive Entry Switch became corroded and our car kept unlocking itself throughout the night. The day we got it back from them we were driving it and we got the same “Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System” again. So I brought our Jeep back again and they told me in the service department they’ve been working with the engineers at Jeep and they are waiting for an update to fix it and it’s one of four in the area with this issue and Jeep is fully aware of the severity of the issue. They also told me they would be holding on to our car until it’s fixed. I was called by the head of the service department at that dealership and was told they need their loaner car back and they got word they’ll maybe have a fix for our car in November. They knowingly gave us our completely unsafe Jeep back and told us to try for Lemon Law - with all parties knowing the severity of the security and lives put at risk on the road. We have gotten this error code many times and are told there is no fix
