I PURCHASED THIS 2022 TUCSON LIMITED HYUNDAI NEW. IT HAS 25,000 MILES ON IT. THE CAR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A POWER REDUCTION BEGAN ALONG WITH SHAKING OF THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO CLEAR THE INTERSECTION SAFELY. I WAS ABLE TO TURN INTO A SAFE SPOT AND SHUT DOWN THE CAR. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO THEN INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS AN INJECTOR KNOW ISSUE FOR THIS YEAR AND WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY. HOWEVER, AS THIS IS A ENGINE/POWERTRAIN PROBLEM, IT SHOULD BE COVERED ON THE 100,000/TEN YEAR WARRANTY. A TSB (23-FL-002H-1) ALERT HAD ALREADY BEEN ISSUED, BUT NOT A RECALL. MANY OWNERS HAVE REPORTED HAVING THIS PROBLEM REPEATEDLY, AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A KNOWN MFG DEFECT. WHEN IS THE GOVERNMENT GOING TO STEP UP AND DEMAND A REAL FIX BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED? OWNER ARE CURRENT LEFT FIGHTING WITH THE DEALERS OVER THE WARRANTY LIMITS OR TAKING LEGAL ACTION. IF YOU GOOGLE THIS PROBLEM, YOU CAN FIND OUT THE NATIONAL LEVEL OF THIS PROBLEM, FROM ACCIDENTS WHICH CAUSED FIRES OR ACCIDENTS FROM POWER LOSS. MY CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALER WAITING ON PARTS. ITS TIME TO FORCE A RECALL! I WILL BE DEMANDING THAT IT IS COVERED FOR THE 10 YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD AND CONSIDERING TAKING ACTION UNDER THE LEMON LAWS. IF THE GOVERNMENT FAILS TO ACT ON THIS SOON, THAN THEY ARE JUST AS LIBEL AS THE MANUFACTURER. YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION TO THIS ISSUES IS REQUESTED.

We brought our 2022 Hyundai Tucson into our local Hyundai dealership under warranty for Technical Service Bulletin MISFIRE DTC (P030X) – INTERNAL GDI INJECTOR LEAK REPAIR. We were surprised to learn the dealership did not have the parts in stock considering this is a widely known issue and we incurred significant expenses while waiting for the vehicle to be repaired. Expenses incurred: $211.47 for Enterprise car rental (2026 Hyundai Sonata) from 1/19/26 to 1/23/26 $140.00 to have the vehicle towed to the dealership since it could not be driven $18.14 for Uber to local rental car agency Total out-of-pocket expenses: $369.61 All documentation was presented to Hyundai corporate, but we have been waiting 3 weeks and the company has not reimbursed or provided any update. On a related note, to avoid the inconvenience of having to bring our vehicle in again for another known issue, we asked if the current recall on our vehicle could be completed while our car was in the shop for the week, but we were advised that our vehicle did not have any recalls. However, according to NHTSA.gov, there is an existing safety recall that was issued more than 2 months ago on December 19, 2025 (NHTSA Safety Issue ID #25V893000 / Hyundai recall #290). The fact that we were told there were no recalls on our vehicle is unsettling and this experience has us seriously reconsidering if we will be purchasing another Hyundai again.

I have had numerous issues with fuel Injectors failing. The first incident was about 30,000 miles. This was fixed by the manufacturer not even 10,000 miles later, I once again had to return the vehicle, to be inspected by the dealership. Instead of replacing all of the fuel injectors at the same time they chose to only replace one. As soon as my car went over the 80,000 mile warranty limit, my fuel injectors went out once more. My mechanic son, has also changed several as well. I had to tow it, 100 miles to the Hyundai dealership, as I live in a rural area. I was told by a young lady, at the dealership, that it was be covered under the engine warranty, which is 100,000 miles. They weren’t even able to look at the car for a week charged me $250 for a diagnosis… After a week 1/2 dealership finally told me it would be over $3000 to repair.. NO! I had to pay to tow it back. I’ve been without a vehicle for five months. When the fuel injectors went out, it also damaged the high-pressure fuel rail, the high pressure fuel pump, and various sensors. This is dangerous, I live in a very rural area. It stopped operating out of the blue. It chugged/bumped a few times, and it was dead. This is inconvenient, and It’s dangerous, especially during the winter time where temperatures reach -20 regularly and no cell phone signals. I believe Hyundai is well aware, of the problem. In fact the service manager had mentioned that the parts were on backorder because apparently they are in quite high demand. No fuel injector should be going out in 15,000 or 20,000 miles, causing systemic failure. Hundai has made no effort to redesign failed parts. It’s quite disheartening, to replace/repair with a new defective part. That is going to go bad, in just a few thousand miles!! Im retired, on a fixed income. I bought new, so I wouldn’t have issues. Paying new prices, to drive junk. I’d just drop it off @ dealers, and walk away.. But the loan, is so upside down that isn’t even possible.

NHTSA #11712981

The fuell door will not open on the vehicle, and I am not able to put gas in the vehicle. Have taken it to a mechanic and he is unsure of what is going on. For a 2022 Vehicle this seems very odd.

NHTSA #11710863

The fuel door would not open, preventing me from refueling the vehicle. I had to purchase a new fuel door actuator and have the vehicle towed to a repair shop, which caused a significant inconvenience.

NHTSA #11711334

The fuel injectors in the car keep misfiring causing the car to shake while driving, be loud and idle hard. In the past I have already replaced two different fuel injectors and now this is a third one that needs replaced.

NHTSA #11709619

When getting onto the highway on November 30, 2025, the engine on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson made an odd sound, acceleration was compromised and the check engine light came on. My husband was driving and he safely navigated us off the highway and back to our home via city streets. We were very concerned we were going to break down on the highway or city street during a cold time of year. The next day we had the vehicle towed to a local auto service center and they diagnosed the problem as a failed fuel injector. They stated this was a known issue by Hyundai. The auto service center ordered the fuel injector kit to make the repair, but they were only allowed to repair the failed fuel injector, not all of them. I'm concerned another fuel injector will fail. If Hyundai knows about the fuel injector issue why haven't they issued a recall?

NHTSA #11712997

Car started stalling and misfiring. When I took the vehicle for service they said it was a known issue and they were replacing all 4 fuel injectors. This was my wife’s car. About a year and a half ago the same thing happened to my 2022 Hyundai Tucson N-Line. I have googled around and found many many issues of the same thing happening on 2022 Tucsons.

NHTSA #11699376

While driving our 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited with the 2.5L engine and about 39,000 miles, the check engine light suddenly came on. Right away the car started behaving strangely. The throttle response became jerky and uneven, and when idling the engine ran at a higher RPM than normal and sounded off. The vehicle also struggled to accelerate, which made it feel unsafe to drive. Thankfully this happened while we were not on the highway, but if it had occurred while merging or keeping up with traffic, it could have been dangerous. Even in city driving, the jerky response and slower acceleration created risk. What would normally be a safe turn across or into traffic could easily have turned into a slower, delayed turn and a potential accident. When we got home, I checked the code and it said it was a cylinder misfire on cylinder 3. The car had been regularly serviced at the dealer and had never shown signs of this issue before. Based on the symptoms, I suspect it may be related to the fuel injectors, but we haven’t been able to get the vehicle in for inspection because local dealers are backed up. One dealer even told us it was fine to keep driving as long as the check engine light wasn’t blinking, which feels concerning given the way the car is performing.

NHTSA #11701621

I just bought this car back in february. It has 50k miles on it. Five minutes after starting it, and in the middle of a busy road, my accelerator suddenly stopped working, my car started shaking, and then it died. My dash lit up and it turns out, it was an issue with the factory fuel injectors.

NHTSA #11698356

All four GDI injectors failed resulting in the car completely stopping on the highway.

NHTSA #11697294

Fuel injectors failed after 4 years of having the car. This led to misfiring, shaking of car, and complete shut down of car within 10 seconds of starting the vehicle.

NHTSA #11697144

Driving on Interstate 64 in southern Indiana approximately 70 mph in left lane when engine died without any warning signs. Was able to safely maneuver vehicle to shoulder without incident. Paid to have the vehicle towed 60 miles to Hyundai dealer. Dealer stated engine failure was due to injector issue known by Hyundai as a technical issue was released.

NHTSA #11697741

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Cylinder 4 fuel injector failed while driving 70 MPH down the highway. The dealer or manufacturer will have the faulty parts for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Loss of power and acceleration put me and others at risk; I could not go over 40 MPH on the highway, the car was lurching the entire time. Inattentive drivers being the main concern, with low speeds and driving/sitting still on the shoulder of the road. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the dealership I had it towed to confirmed the injector failed. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The manufacturer is aware of the issue. There is a TSB issued that asks the dealer to send the faulty parts back to them. They are fully aware of the issue and are choosing to replace faulty parts with equally faulty parts. The dealer told me the replacement injectors “are not supposed to have the factory defect” but confirmed they are the same parts. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, the engine light came on and I lost power/acceleration simultaneously.

NHTSA #11695644

Two separate times over the last year I’ve had a fuel injector go bad after using the auto start feature in semi colder temperatures. I’m not sure if the auto start has something to do with it but seems to be a cold weather issue.

NHTSA #11696719

Taken car to work, driving down highway check engine light come on with loss of power. Took to dealership reported cylinder number 3 fuel injector was stuck open. Replaced all 4 injectors. Found TSB for it

NHTSA #11689676

Stopped accelerating/disabled in the middle of interstate during rush hour traffic

NHTSA #11685060

I went to fill up the gas and the gas cap door would not open. The gas station attendant tried to help with no luck. I drove to the dealer - the fuel release actuator had failed. Part was replaced under warranty. I am lucky I had enough gas to get to the dealer. Very scary when you can’t put gas in your car!

NHTSA #11686492

I am submitting this complaint due to repeated and dangerous fuel injector failures on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson. This is the third time this issue has occurred in less than three years of ownership. •First incident: My vehicle broke down on the side of the road while I was 10 hours away from home in Florida. This left me stranded and required towing and repairs. •Second incident: The fuel injectors failed again, though fortunately closer to my home. •Third and most recent incident: The same issue happened again, this time with my wife driving—a major safety concern. We purchased this vehicle specifically to avoid breakdowns like this and for the safety and reliability it was supposed to provide. This recurring failure is unacceptable for a newer vehicle and poses a significant safety risk to my family and other drivers. Fuel injector failure can lead to stalling in traffic or on highways, increasing the potential for accidents. I urge NHTSA to investigate this matter, as it appears to be a systemic issue with this model and could lead to serious harm if not addressed.

NHTSA #11675901

My fuel injectors has been blown and Hyundai will not replace all 4 when one goes out. So I have to keep going back up to the dealership to get it fixed each time. They always blow on the highway. The first time I was doing some distance driving from Columbus, OH to Dayton, OH. Then the other time happened when I was on the highway during rush hour traffic. There were no other warnings before this happens. It just happens and the engine light comes on as the steering will begins to shakes like crazy.

NHTSA #11673749

I’ve already had my fuel injections changed about 20,000 miles again and my car is starting to stall again check engine light on again seems to be same issue now my car is no longer under warranty. I don’t seem this problem on the recall list but this is not a problem I want to have every 20,000 miles.

NHTSA #11672279

For the second time I was driving and all of a sudden lost power and couldn’t give it gas to go. I was almost hit from behind both times.

NHTSA #11670019

My car stopped on the street without notice, check engine light came on and won’t moved, no power on acceleration. Was towed to dealership. Next two days, they told me that two fuel injectors were blocked/broke. I searched on internet and that has happened in many vehicles.

NHTSA #11664961

Engine started idling rough, loss of power. Trouble codes show misfiring in Cylinder 4, believed to be from faulty fuel injectors

NHTSA #11663307

While driving home on the freeway in stop-go traffic, the check engine light suddenly came on. At idle and low speed, the engine ran very rough with lots of vibration and acceleration became difficult. I got off the freeway as soon as possible to take surface streets as I felt unsafe continuing to drive on the freeway. The car continued to vibrate significantly. This happened very close to home and I was able to get home but slowly. When the car cooled down I checked the fluid levels - oil was fine and clear but coolant level was low despite a recent service where a coolant flush was performed and the coolant level was at the minimum level indicated by the reservoir. The dealer performed a test and the fuel injector unit for cylinder 3 failed. Apparently there is no observable coolant leak. The car is now awaiting repair under warranty, but the part is not available for 8 weeks. The dealer intends to replace the failed injector when the part arrives.

NHTSA #11663285

On May 20, 2025, at approximately 76,100 miles, I attempted to open the fuel filler door on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson and found that it would not release. The car was unlocked and parked, but the fuel door remained stuck. I eventually managed to open it only after a frenzied random sequence of repeatedly pressing the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob while simultaneously pressing on the fuel door. The mechanism finally released after many attempts, but it was inconsistent and unreliable. A second incident occurred on May 26, 2025 at 76,460 miles when I needed to refuel. While I was not stranded, the experience was frustrating and concerning — especially since the vehicle does not appear to have any kind of manual emergency fuel door release. If this issue occurred while low on fuel or far from help, it could lead to a significant inconvenience or hazard. I brought the vehicle to a Hyundai dealership on May 28, 2025 and demonstrated the problem to a Service Advisor. The Advisor that assisted me was unaware of the problem and could not find a recall or Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). Since it is past the 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, I was told the issue would not be covered; I would have to pay out of pocket. However, I’ve read about other 2022/2023 Tucson owners experiencing similar failures, suggesting a possible design flaw in the fuel door actuator or latch assembly. I believe this should be reviewed as a potential defect. Consistent failures of a basic refueling mechanism across multiple vehicles should be taken seriously.

NHTSA #11663547

Fuel injector failure. Vehicle misfired at startup. When attempting to accelerate, vehicle was hesitating and couldn’t. Towed to dealer and they were able to recreate the issue and place code reader on vehicle to find injector problem. Dealer states that Hyundai is revamping all fuel injectors, not just replacing with current supply on faulty injectors. Car will be at dealer for unknown period of time due to nationwide parts supply shortage

NHTSA #11662899

Faulty injectors, engine was shaking, sluggish acceleration, possibly fuel mixed into the oil, check engine light on for cylinder misfires.

NHTSA #11660463

In Dec. 2023 my car stopped dead in the middle of the road. After being towed to ABC Hyundai in las Vegas they had to replace a fuel injector and I was told it could occur again On [XXX] the car began sputtering and shaking. When I bought it in I was told it was the fuel injector. I was told that Hyundai no longer changes just the one injector as they did before but now Hyundai has a complete kit. There was none at the dealership so it was ordered on Sat May 17 and told it would be in on Tues May20 but now I'm told it's back ordered. They are supposed to give a loaner but non available. I cannot be without a car as I live alone and need a car. I called corporate customer service today May 22 but the won't get back to me for several days. I was told by dealer service to rent a car and I would get reimbursed but corporate said that it would be at my discretion. Fuel injectors fail at 26K miles

NHTSA #11659420

At only 35k miles. Check engine display with heavy vibration due to misfire faulty fuel injectors. Repair took one month. Seems like Hyundai is not taking any action for this common safty issue.

NHTSA #11662069

While driving in Dallas the engine seemed to have problems. We ended up pulling over and having the vehicle towed to a Hyundai dealer in Arlington TX where we live because we were concerned the vehicle was unsafe to drive and could stall out on a freeway. The dealer informed us they needed to replace the fuel injectors at a cost of approximately $1800. The vehicle has approx 60,000 miles and we also purchased an extended warranty. Apparently no warranties cover this issue according to the dealer. It seems Hyundai should take some responsibility for this defect which could be potentially dangerous when driving the vehicle with these known issues.

NHTSA #11652594

The fuel injectors are bad. When the first fuel injector failed, the Hyundai mechanic stated that the remainder of fuel injectors would also fail but they could not proactively replace them. Two fuel injectors have failed in the matter of 6 months and it’s expected the last two will follow suit.

NHTSA #11650923

Vehicle began shaking upon starting and was not accelerating properly. Engine light came on and a warning appeared on the LED screen to take care to dealer immediately. Upon inspection by the dealer, the problem was determined to be a faulty fuel injector (on Thursday 3/20). The part is NOT kept in stock at the dealer and was ordered from the warehouse for delivery the next day (Friday 3/21). I should have had the car repaired and returned to me by end of day 3/21 or next day, Saturday 3/22. I called after not receiving an update on Friday and was told the part is on BACKORDER. When the problem was diagnosed on 3/20, at the Hyundai dealer service department, the employee in the service department admitted that this was a common problem with the Tuscon and that no recall had been issued. He also said that the car is NOT DRIVABLE until the issue is fixed. A quick Google search showed that is very much a serious and common issue. I also appears that once one goes out, the rest will start to need to be replaced and are being done AS THEY BREAK, rather than replacing them all and/or fixing what is causing them to be faulty. I was told they have no idea when the parts will be ready. It clearly is a common problem if they do not have the parts readily available to fix my vehicle. In addition, he added it may take up to several weeks. The car just turned 3 years old and has 34,000 miles on it. I have NEVER had such a bad issue with any new care I have owned. There was absolutely no indication anything was wrong on prior drives before starting up the car. I had just driven it 260 miles to my daughter's college and back. Thank goodness it didn't happen on the busy highway or on one of the country roads in the middle of cornfields. The dealer service employee said the broken part would be "sent for inspection" once they have it off and a new part available.

NHTSA #11649986

Fuel injectors failed. It's been 3 weeks and it hasn't been fixed yet. It is still under warranty. But it's been 3 weeks.

NHTSA #11650857

Fuel injectors failed. I was left on the side of a rural road for 2.5 hours waiting on a tow truck. No warning lights came on until my car was dead. I was told the injectors (4 of them) had failed by the dealership service center. This vehicle is still under warranty.

NHTSA #11646083

Fuel injector failure. Sudden loss of engine power creates a major safety issue when traveling at speed on highways or especially busy interstate highways. Vehicle was towed to dealer and repaired under warranty promptly. This is a known issue with this and other Hyundai models and all four fuel injectors should be replaced. At present, Hyundai only authorizes one be replaced at a time as they malfunction.

NHTSA #11643323

Car was driving fine. Started sputtering and died, unable to restart. No prior warning injectors will fail. Known fuel injector problem with model years found and replaced. Hyundai Tsb 25-fl-001h used.

NHTSA #11637187

My 2022 Tucson's fuel injectors for the first cylinders have failed, creating a misfires in cylinder one.

NHTSA #11636151

Lost acceleration while driving on the freeway and car started shaking with Check Engine light on. Took the car to the dealer for diagnostic and was informed that #4 injector failed causing the engine to misfire. This was the 3rd fuel injector failing in 5 months. Per my service advisor, Hyundai released an updated TSB (25-FL-001H) in January 2025 with a 4 new fuel injector replacement kit. Unfortunately, this injector kit was so new that I had to drive a service rental car for a week waiting for the kit to arrive. Let's see if these new fuel injectors will last longer than the old ones.

NHTSA #11637522

While driving on the highway, I attempted to accelerate up to 70 mph and the check engine light came on and the front end of the car started shaking. Had to pull over and restart the car to continue safely. This has happened four separate times at different mileage variables and each time they replace 2-3 of my fuel injectors with no explanation as to what is causing them to constantly blow. They never make it even 1000 miles before at least one goes out again. My vehicle is approaching 52,000 miles and has been serviced four times for this since December 2023. This needs to be a vehicle recall as the warranty will not pay for this forever and the underlying cause of the problem is not being addressed by Hyundai.

NHTSA #11639276

This problem has happened 4 times in the last two months. After about 15 minutes of either moving very slowly, or being parked and idling, the engine does not start when the gas pedal is pressed. The car accelerates as normal since it is in EV mode, giving the driver the impression the car is operating properly. After driving around 1/4 mile the car loses drive power very quickly - full speed to zero in several seconds - because the car is in EV (battery) mode only. This sudden loss of power twice occurred in traffic, which increased the risk of an accident. Fortunately the car was not running at highway speeds and the car was pulled over safely despite the traffic. After the car lost all drive power, the warning “check hybrid system“ appeared on the instrument cluster. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the problem occurring. Twice a dealer was unable to reproduce or confirm this problem. An independent service center also could not reproduce or confirm this problem. The vehicle is available for inspection, but has not been inspected other than the dealer and the service center.

NHTSA #11631538

In December 2024, the engine lost power while driving. We were able to pull over on a busy road, where we were blocking traffic on a curve. We had it towed to the dealership. There was no warning or light indicating any problem. Thankfully we were not on the freeway when this occurred. The Hyundai app said that all systems in the vehicle were normal. The fuel injector was replaced by Hyundai. Now, 4 months later, the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealership, and another fuel injector needed to be replaced. The service manager stated that he requested that all of the fuel injectors be replaced because this is a known issue, but Hyundai denied the request, so they only replaced one fuel injector. I am expecting this to happen again, and I am especially worried that the vehicle could lose power while driving on the freeway. Please note that this vehicle was purchased new, and I have had all the scheduled maintenance performed at the Hyundai dealership.

NHTSA #11655624

My 2022 Hyundai Tuscon is in the shop for a SECOND time due to a bad fuel injector. The first time was 4 months ago. My vehicle's check engine light went on and it went into "limp mode" on a major roadway. (I take all major highways to work.) A vehicle going into "limp mode" on a highway is super dangerous. My check engine light went on once again, and I brought it into the dealership service center. I left it there for 36 hours, only to learn that they did not have the parts on site to do the repairs. I have to bring it BACK for another 24-36 hours for the repair to be completed on a SECOND bad fuel injector. How Hyundai hasn't issued a recall for the fuel injectors yet is appalling.

January 2023-driving down the road and the car was shaking and wouldn’t give much gas when pressing the accelerator. When we got it towed to the dealer, they said it was the fuel injector. July 2024-driving on a major highway, car starting doing the same thing and stopped on the highway I pulled to the shoulder. I was not safe at all. The tow truck took over 2 hours to come. It was a hot summer day. When it finally got towed it was confirmed it was a second fuel injector. November 2025-driving and the car did the same thing, currently at the dealership and it’s the 3rd fuel injector. I’ve never felt so unsafe in a car. It only has 30k miles on it. I don’t drive on the highway because I get anxiety about it stopping again. There’s another fuel injector that “needs” to fail to complete all 4.

On [XXX] at approximately [XXX] we were traveling west on [XXX] in Canida when we heard an explosion and could hear air rushing into the vehicle. As soon as we could safely pull to the right and into the breakdown lane my wife got out and noticed a large hole in the panoramic sunroof. The glass was shattered but the glass stayed within the cloth cover. We were in shock but decided to continue on to our medical appointment in Manchester. The vehicle comes with a panoramic sunroof and there is a ~8inch wide piece of glass that is between the windshield and the sunroof. While driving on the highway, at approximately 80mph, with no other cars or hazards in front of the vehicle, this piece of glass shattered. We heard a loud popping sound, immediately followed by shattering/cracking noises. It was not struck by any rocks or debris. After arriving at my location, the vehicle was immediately inspected at a Hyundai dealership where the determined the damage to be a manufacturing defect. This damage decreases the structural integrity of the vehicle and subjects it to water and electrical damage. There are multitudes of similar reports on forums across the internet. The damage currently remains present on the vehicle and photos have been taken. The damage has been assessed by two Hyundai dealerships but an insurance claim has not been filed as I am currently seeking the damage be covered under the basic 5yr/60,000 mile warranty.

Driving on the freeway on 5/18/2025 my sunroof completely shattered. I was going about 70 mph and the sunroof was closed. It was not a hot day, approx. 73 degrees. The noise was so loud, as if a gun shot went off next to me. Nothing hit it, nothing around us, nothing was hit on my part. As a matter of fact I was driving in the toll lanes so really no other cars were around me. It came out of nowhere. I called the local Hyundai dealer and drove straight there. This was on a Sunday afternoon. Monday morning the service dept called and said it would be a few days before they have any answers. On Tuesday 5/20/25 the service guy called back with answers saying they have no idea why it happened, they will not cover it, something must have hit it and it will be $4000-$8500 and take 3-4 weeks to fix. He suggests I call my insurance company to file a claim! My car is a 2022 Hyundai Tuscan limited with 43,000 miles, I purchased it brand new and have used my sunroof maybe a hand full of times. As you can see in the photo the glass blew out, NOT in, so nothing hit it to cause this to happen.

Unbearable Sound While Driving the Car, Causing Ear Numbness and Safety Concerns I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from the dealership with the expectation that it would be free from defects. On the very first day, during the drive back home, the vehicle began making a persistent rattling noise that was both distracting and concerning. The sound was so severe that it caused ear numbness within just a few minutes and made it difficult to concentrate on driving, raising serious safety concerns. Upon arriving home, I immediately contacted the dealership to report the issue but received no positive or constructive response. I reported this matter to Hyundai Motor America Customer Service on April 1, 2025. It has now been almost five months, and they have been unable to resolve the issue and mentioning its cosmetics defect. Therefore, I am reaching out to you to address this safety concern and request that precautionary action be taken against Hyundai Motor America, USA. The noise and vibration are so extreme that ear numbness occurs within 2–3 minutes of driving, making the vehicle unsafe to operate and safety concersn. Thanking you. - Component that Failed: The Panoramic Sunroof (glass side that opens) - Safety Risk: Glass shattering above your head while driving, tons of glass falling below to the driver & passengers in the car | Shock of a loud gunshot while driving - causes wrecks - Vehicle Inspected: Currently at Hyundai, figuring out what to do - Warning signs: ABOLSUTLEY NONE - spontaneous explosion My husband, two friends, and I were traveling down the interstate at 55 mph, we heard a loud bang (like the sound of a gunshot)! Our panoramic sunroof sunshade was pulled back with the sunroof closed. Instantly, the sunroof exploded into a million tiny pieces of glass that partially rained down on our heads and shoulders and all over the rest of our car. It was quite a startling sound. There was a hole about 10 inches across in the sunroof and more pieces were continuing to fall out. To protect our heads, I closed the sunshade. Then, we could hear pieces hitting the shade and glass falling behind us on the road. Once we got home, the hole became much larger.

I am submitting this complaint regarding an ongoing and dangerous issue with my 2022 Hyundai Tucson involving repeated fuel injector failures that have caused the vehicle to stall and lose power while driving, without any prior warning indicators. The first incident occurred in October 2023, at approximately 16,000 miles, when the car suddenly died while I was driving. There were no warning lights or signs of a problem before the stall occurred. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership, where they replaced two fuel injectors. Just two weeks later, the same issue happened again—the car died while driving and was towed back to the dealership. The remaining injectors were then replaced. Unfortunately, this problem has continued. In November 2024, at around 26,000 miles, the vehicle again stalled while driving, with no warning, due to another fuel injector failure ( more failed injectors). Most recently, on October 18, 2025, with 31,000 miles on the odometer, my Tucson lost power and died while I was merging onto an interstate—once again with no warning or alert of any kind. I am still waiting for confirmation of how many injectors have failed this time. This is an extremely serious safety hazard. Losing engine power unexpectedly, especially while merging into highway traffic, puts both the driver and others on the road at significant risk of a collision or serious injury. Despite multiple occurrences, Hyundai has not identified the root cause of the injector failures and continues only to replace the faulty parts, which clearly does not resolve the underlying issue. It is unacceptable that a relatively new vehicle would experience repeated fuel system failures of this nature, and it is clear that there is a systemic defect affecting safety and reliability. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue to determine whether other Hyundai Tucson owners are experiencing similar failures and whether a recall or safety action is warranted.

2022 Tucson (NX4, Alabama built) 2.5L Engine experienced a catastrophic failure leading to Hyundai dealer diagnosis that "Cylinder #3 is not contributing properly," which requires a full engine replacement. The vehicle is currently located at home and is available for inspection upon request. The engine scuffing has resulted in a severe loss of power contribution from Cylinder #3, leading to potential for sudden engine stall or complete loss of motive power while driving. If the engine seizes or stalls at highway speeds or during a critical maneuver (e.g., merging onto a freeway or turning across traffic), it creates an unreasonable risk of a rear-end collision or a catastrophic accident, endangering both the driver and others on the road. Furthermore, the internal mechanical failure creates a significant FIRE RISK due to potential oil leakage onto hot exhaust components. The problem has been confirmed by Hyundai Service Center in El Paso, Texas and three independent service centers in Arizona and Texas. All four assessments concluded that the vehicle requires a full engine replacement due to severe internal damage. Inspected by Hyundai Service Center in El Paso, TX. Despite confirming failure, Hyundai refuses to provide critical diagnostic data (Power Balance Test, Endoscopic Inspection, DTCs) and the determined root cause. This refusal hinders warranty transparency. The Check Engine Light (CEL) did not illuminate. Symptoms appeared late September 2025 at approximately 88,000 miles (audible engine noise/scuffing, rough idle, significant power loss). This failure at non-typical mileage demonstrates a severe internal defect and a safety system malfunction (failure of the ECU/CEL to adequately warn the driver). Note: Dashcam video documentation of the engine failure symptoms (audible noise and power loss) is available and can be presented to investigators upon request.

On August 14, 2025, at approximately 12:40 AM, my 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited suddenly stalled while driving and became completely non-functional. The vehicle had about 25,000 miles at the time. This left me stranded on the highway in the middle of the night, creating a serious safety risk for myself and other motorists. The vehicle was towed to a Hyundai dealership. The dealer claimed the issue was caused by “carbon buildup” and stated that the problem would only be considered “repaired” if I paid for a fuel injection cleaning and fuel induction decarb service (about $500). These services are not listed in the Hyundai factory maintenance schedule, and no diagnostic evidence (photos, test results, or measurements) was provided to support the claim. Because the stall made the vehicle inoperable, I believe this should have been handled under warranty. Instead, I was pressured to pay for optional services in order to have the safety issue resolved. Safety Risk: The vehicle stalled without warning at highway speed, placing myself and others at risk of collision. Based on the dealerhip this needed to be serviced every 20k miles and hyundai deosnot recommend to consumers for some reason..

Car is a Gas Hybrid (not plugin). 3 occurrences over the last couple of months. Car emits a warning sound and a message on the dash says "Check Hybrid System. Stop Safely". Basically right after this message the car starts losing power and stops. Doesn't matter if on freeway or not. You need to find a place to pull over or you stop traffic wherever you are. Looks like Hybrid Battery is completely drained. Can not be re-created. Dealer has it now for the 3rd time. Dealer in the past have not been able to find cause/cure since this issue is not posting any errors to the onboard diagnostic system. Temporary 'fix' is to power off car, and power back on. Looks like this is a 'known' issue though as its being reported by quite a few people online.

2022 to hyundai tuscon now with the third cylinder misfire due to faulty fuel injector. This can be inspected upon request. Upon second occurrence, requested all cylinders be replaced and advised could not do this under warranty. Second filing to NHTSA. This incident put myself and other drivers at risk. I was driving on a highway and the cylinder misfire occurred resulting in check engine light and vehicle going into limp mode and inability to drive more than 30-40 mph. The entire vehicle violently shakes and loses power with this misfire. In the previous occurrences , could not accelerate beyond 20 mph. I could have been rear ended or caused a serious accident on the highway as a result of Hyundai faulty fuel injectors and cylinder misfires. My vehicle has now been seen 3x for the same issue and replaced by dealer. There were no warning signs prior to the failure of the fuel injector resulting in cylinder misfire and loss of power and inability to accelerate. This is a very dangerous faulty component of this year make and model- it is a known issue. Still no recall. Within the first year of purchase, my power train system has beeb throwing codes. I took it to the dealership where they assured me nothing was wrong. My fuel injectors then gave out. The dealership replaced them and told me “yes these things are faulty and we see it a lot”. After replacing it, they did not seal the fuel injectors, causing gas to gush out and set my car to smoke. I was ill from inhaling gas fumes for days. They took accountability and said that the injectors were defective in the vehicles and that they would once again fix it. I am not experiencing further engine issues which they do not know how to diagnose. My car is a 2022 purchase from the lot. The engine is defective and Hyundai is negligent. They admitted they were aware of the injector issue but didn’t do much to correct this. After corrected, they almost had my car set on fire from fuel pouring on the engine.

This vehicle has a considerate amount of oil dilution problems. I have had this vehicle taken in for service several times due to gasoline mixed into the engine oil. Again on March 6 2026 for the 4th time now the vehicle has a check engine light extreme hesitation with an almost stopping jerking motion due to dilution problems. Multiple dealerships claim there is nothing wrong with the car.. there is a distinct gasoline smell in the engine oil. The vehicle at times is almost unsafe to drive due to the hesitation and halting it does on its own. Every time a dealership is contacted my problem is dismissed. There is a burning smell due to the oil gas dilution issue. The car reaches higher temperatures than it should. And now the Hyundai dealership is making me wait almost a month again to have the problem looked at again which then puts me as the driver in an unsafe situation to drive a vehicle with such hesitation and fire risk. If they dismiss this oil and gas mix again and do not repair the car it could seize my engine or maybe possibly even cause fire damage.

I purchased a 2022 Hyundai Tucson brand new, expecting it to be a reliable and safe vehicle for many years. Unfortunately, the fuel injectors failed and had to be replaced far too early in the car’s life. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The fuel injection system failed. The injectors had to be replaced, and the problem persists even after the repair. I believe the issue may still be present and can be made available for inspection if needed. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle continues to run poorly and unpredictably, which puts me and my family at risk—especially while driving at higher speeds or in heavy traffic. I’m concerned about stalling, power loss, or a potential engine fire due to leaking fuel. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the issue was diagnosed and confirmed by the dealership, and the fuel injectors were replaced. Despite this, the engine still doesn’t perform correctly. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle was inspected by the dealership during service, but not by police, the manufacturer directly, or insurance representatives. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, there were signs of rough idling, engine hesitation, and overall poor performance before the failure. These symptoms started appearing within the first year of ownership. I have since learned that many other owners of 2022 Hyundai Tucsons are experiencing the same issue. I believe this is a widespread defect that poses a safety concern and needs urgent investigation. This started few days prior with only high tone working, but not low tone (which is very hard to hear from other vehicles since not very loud), then after couple of days no horn at all. Looking online this seems to be a known issue with multiple hyundai cars (venue, tucson, santa fe, elantra etc) and some of them apparently had had to get their horns replaced multiple times since they keep being replaced with defective horn units, yet it is for some reason not a recall yet. Could you please investigate into this? I think there should be a recall for defective horn units. Huge safety concern, accidents could be prevented by fixing this

I now need to call the dealer to have both horns replaced for the fourth time. I also contacted Hyundai's national customer service to log a complaint as well. To me this is a safty issue since the horn is used to possible prevent an accident. I check the horns when I drive the car since they go bad so often and I have under 28,000 miles on the vehicle.

While driving, without warning, all malfunction lights came on the dashboard and stayed on, including check engine light. The speedometer and rpm show as zero even though I’m moving. The power steering locks up. Scary as hell! This has happened 5+ separate times within the past 2 months. The first time I had it towed to the dealer and they said it was caused by a Karr alarm that was pre-installed by the dealer prior to my new purchase which I never authorized and was never activated. They said it was causing a short even though it happened 2+ years after purchase. It was removed by the dealer for free and the electrical issue happened again the next day while driving. It was towed to the dealer again and after a week the car was returned to me with no diagnosis as they were unable to replicate. About once a month on average my Tucson's emergency system braking comes on without an emergency. It seems to occur mostly when taking an exit on the highway, but a few times it has been completely random. All of these instances have had no other vehicles around or any roadway barriers present. When it activated, lighting comes up on my dash telling me the emergency braking is activating. Sometimes it brakes, other times it does not seem to. Mostly, it seems that if I keep pressing down on the gas pedal it just turns itself off. I've never had my car come to a complete start but I have had it hit the brakes hard a few times. I bought the vehicle brand new and have had it for 4.5 years, and it has always done this. I've had the dealership reinstall the software that controls the braking system, but it had no affect. I ask the dealer every time I go in if others are complaining about this and I am always told no. However, I saw a similar recall was just put into place for the newer years of the Tucson, and it makes me think they are told to tell people no one is complaining about this.

I was driving down the highway going about 60-65mph with cruise control and LKA on. I turned my blinker on to switch lanes, checked my blind spot, and moved over to the left. As I was doing so, a semi switched lanes from the left into the right (my new lane) right in front of me. The truck then slowed down a lot, and usually my Forward Collision Warning would say something if my Adaptive Cruise Control isn’t on (or is and I’m just going too fast to slow down) neither of those things happened. No warning. No automatic brakes. No slowing down. I tried to engage the brakes manually but nothing happened. I slammed into a semi at around 60mph because of 3 different system failures. Not only did I hit the semi at 60mph, apparently my brakes didn’t work at all and I spun out until I hit the concrete barrier on the highway. If my brakes had engaged automatically, I could have slowed down enough to avoid the collision altogether. And if they had engaged manually I could have at least minimized the damage to my vehicle (and myself) because I wouldn’t have hit the concrete barrier as well.

Next time i pulled out to pass and had a car on my right hand side it did the same thing. Pulled back into right hand lane and stayed there for quite some time. I then turned off the all around sensor @ and it didnt do it again but as i got closer to home the warning light came on and a message popped up. It now has the triangle caution sign on and the picture of car icon in amber. I had driven the car from my home for about 50 miles and parked car for two hours, the drove back toward home for about 20 miles when the event happened. I am submitting this complaint due to a potential safety-related engine failure that occurred while my vehicle was under dealership repair. My vehicle was dropped off at Huffines Hyundai on October 2, 2025, for a fuel injector issue and has remained under the dealership’s exclusive possession since that date. I have not driven or had access to the vehicle after drop-off. During the repair process, I was informed by dealership staff that an injector was seized in the fuel rail and difficult to remove. Although the injector replacement was documented as a short repair, the work was delayed and completed on October 16, 2025. Immediately following this repair, on October 17, 2025, the engine was documented by the dealership as having low compression. I was not notified of this condition until October 27, 2025. The engine damage occurred while the vehicle was under dealership control and immediately following a repair involving seized components. The diagnostic documentation provided to me is incomplete and does not include compression PSI values or supporting data. I am concerned that improper repair or handling may have caused internal engine damage, resulting in a condition that could lead to engine failure or unsafe operation. Due to the circumstances and lack of transparency, I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate and am concerned about the risk of engine failure.

The safety alert system on the vehicle alerted us five different times that the vehicle needed to be parked and checked immediately due to a Powertrain issue and each time we took it to the dealership because it is still under warranty at 47,984 mi. This last time they have had it for just over 3 weeks and said there are three or four of the same vehicle with the same issue that they are trying to get parts for. This is not coming up as a recall, but it has been an issue with safety because it tells us to immediately Park the vehicle and it loses engine power when accelerating which is very dangerous for navigating traffic. Insurance has not been involved as it is on warranty and there has not been an accident because of this issue yet. Please look into this because we do believe there should be a recall on this model. I know other people who are having the same issue with the same type of vehicle but on the Santa Fe. The issue starts out where they say it's just a gas cap. But then switching out the gas cap doesn't fix the problem.

The touchscreen is not reposnive to touch except in one tiny corner. We’re reported this at thw Hyundai dealership at least three times over the years- they said “they can’t see a problem”, which is odd because the screen literally does not respond to touch. When it’s hot, even with the AC on full blast, sometimes we will be driving and the touchscreen starts making beeps and starts going into the settings menu all on its own without being touched, and starts randomly changing settings. Or, we will connect a phone with google maps, and the screen will randomly change to something else or a different view. This is a dangerous distraction, and Hyundai has refused to acknowledge this problem. The screen is unusable, we are forced to use our phones to use navigation directions just to be safe in our own car. This has been an issue starting in 2023 and to this day has been persistent. We have done both hard and soft resets to ni avail. We have also reported, on going to the dealership, that the screen says to update- they have never provided any update or instructions on how to update, even though every time we go to the hyundai maintenance we are there for at least two hours or more.

The vehicle is currently in the shop due to safety concerns involving malfunctioning exterior lighting and a serious incident of the vehicle entering limp mode. 1) With automatic headlights activated, all exterior lights shut off while driving at night, posing a significant safety risk. 2) During daylight hours, the automatic headlight system inconsistently toggles between different lamp settings, switching off and on erratically. 3) While attempting to turn left during morning rush hour traffic (on a 40 mph road where vehicles often travel 50+ mph), the vehicle entered limp mode upon acceleration. It bogged down in the middle of both lanes, unable to exceed 13 mph, placing me in a highly dangerous position. After pulling over and leaving the vehicle off for 5 minutes, the issue temporarily resolved upon restart. 4) The vehicle is stored in a garage, and following the limp mode incident, I received repeated “door unlocked” notifications every 30 minutes from 2:30 AM to 5:30 AM, though the vehicle had not been accessed. These issues are of serious concern and appear comparable to conditions outlined in Recall #149 and Recall #236, both of which address similar malfunctions related to exterior lighting and powertrain performance. VIN# currently is not within the recalls.

The vehicle's brake system intermittently fails after driving over bumps or uneven roads. The brake pedal becomes soft and unresponsive, and the vehicle continues rolling forward for several seconds before the brakes finally engage. This has happened repeatedly while driving home from work. On one occasion, the vehicle rolled through a red light and I had to swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid a collision. This issue first became noticeable in 2022 and has worsened over time. It puts both my safety and the safety of others at serious risk. There are no warning lights or error messages before or during the failure. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Independent mechanics have confirmed that brake pads, rotors, and fluid levels are in good condition. They suggested the cause could be air in the brake lines, a malfunctioning ABS system, or a faulty master cylinder—all potentially covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. The manufacturer’s service center initially refused to inspect the vehicle without an upfront diagnostic fee and only offered assistance after I escalated the matter through repeated complaints. The service director later described the issue as “unsettling but normal,” which is not accurate according to independent professionals. The issue involves the vehicle’s drivetrain and hybrid/electronic control system, where the car suddenly jerked forward in stop-and-go traffic on the freeway as if it had been struck from behind. Immediately following this event, the vehicle would not accelerate beyond approximately 40 mph, indicating a loss of normal power. This created a significant safety risk, as the sudden jerking could have led to a rear-end collision, and the inability to accelerate properly made it difficult to keep up with traffic on the freeway. I was barely able to safely pull off the freeway while surrounding traffic continued at higher speeds, increasing the risk to myself and other drivers. The problem appeared to resolve after turning the vehicle off and then back on; however, this raises concern about intermittent failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealership for inspection, but they were unable to reproduce or identify the issue. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has been inspected by a dealer but not by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Prior to the failure, there were no warning lights, messages, or noticeable symptoms indicating an issue. Based on similar reported experiences, this event may be consistent with a “limp mode” condition or a malfunction in the transition between the electric motor and gasoline engine, potentially involving the transmission or hybrid control system.

Despite professional maintenance, these tires have degraded to a legally bald and unsafe state (2/32") in less than 8,000 total miles. The tires exhibited a sudden "melting" effect. On October 31, 2025 (Odo: 28,330), a third-party inspection verified a safe tread depth of 9/32" with even wear. However, by February 20, 2026, the tires had dropped to 3/32", and by March 20, they reached 2/32". This represents a loss of 7/32" (70% of usable tread) in only ~3,800 miles. This rapid, non-linear degradation creates an emergency safety hazard, as the tires lost wet-weather traction and hydroplaning resistance in less than 30 days between service checks. Maintenance History: The vehicle (2022 Hyundai Tucson) has a documented history of proper care: Professional Alignment: September, 2025 (Insurance-certified). Tread Verification: October 31, 2025 (Confirmed 9/32" and even wear). Rotation Service: February 20, 2026 (Performed at 7,500-mile interval). The failure is global across all four tires, including the non-driven rear axle, indicating a fundamental rubber compound defect. Retailer (Costco)has denied warranty support, citing "rapid wear" as a non-covered issue, despite the tires failing 72,000 miles before their engineered lifespan. This defect leaves the consumer on the road with unsafe, bald tires that failed without warning.

I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2022 Hyundai Tucson equipped with the 2.5L engine. The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of severe engine misfiring while driving. During these events, the engine begins to shake violently, the entire vehicle vibrates, and engine power is significantly reduced. The vehicle becomes unable to accelerate normally, creating a serious safety hazard, especially when driving on highways or in traffic. The malfunction has occurred several times. Diagnostic trouble codes P0302 and P0303 have been recorded, indicating cylinder misfires. In some cases, turning the engine off and restarting it temporarily restores normal operation. On other occasions, adding fuel system cleaner appeared to temporarily improve the condition. However, the problem eventually returns. Because the condition is intermittent, the Hyundai dealership has been unable to reproduce the failure during inspection and therefore has not performed a repair under warranty. Despite multiple visits, the root cause remains unidentified. I am concerned that the sudden loss of power and severe engine vibration could result in an accident if the vehicle is unable to maintain speed or accelerate while traveling at highway speeds. This issue has significantly affected the safe operation of the vehicle. I request that this matter be investigated, as it appears to be a recurring safety-related defect.

The computer(s) responsible for many of the safety systems have faulty software. The computer vision system incorrectly assess condition of the roadway and issues warnings that obscure the instrument cluster. The computer vision system also incorrectly determines that a collision is imminent (despite no obstacles being present) and activates the braking system. Hyundai has been aware of this issue since 2022 and has previously released a software patch to correct it. However, unpatched vehicles are still being sold (and resold) by Hyundai dealerships without being fixed because Hyundai has chosen to rescind the availability of the update. Unpatched vehicles are on the road preventing drivers from properly monitoring vehicle operation as a result of the continuous warning obscuring the cluster and are jeopardizing the occupants and other road users when the vehicles spontaneously initiate panic stops for phantom obstacles. Hyundai refuses requests to provide the existing update files because a future update with an uncertain release date is planned; release of the "upcoming" update has seemingly already been delayed 8 months.

During a recent accident, the driver pressed the brakes but they did not respond, almost as if they locked up. Police at the scene noted there were no skid marks on the road, suggesting the brakes never engaged. The vehicle suffered major side impact damage, including broken windows and crushed passenger-side doors, but none of the airbags deployed. This raises serious concerns about a possible brake system failure and airbag non-deployment defect. The vehicle has not yet been repaired and is available for inspection. Police have reviewed the accident, and the insurance company has also seen the vehicle, but no mechanical inspection has been completed by the manufacturer. There were no warning lights or error messages prior to the failure. The safety of the driver and passengers was put at risk because the car could not be stopped and the airbags did not deploy to provide protection.

The car keeps loosing power when it is over 90 degrees outside. On my way to work in the morning it has plenty of power but on my way home around 5 or 6 PM it struggles to gain speed. I’ve already had all the fuel injectors replaced so I don’t think it is related to that. It mainly happens when I slow down but not to a full stop around 20 MPH. Then it struggles to accelerate after that.

The blind spot warning went off and locked all the brakes up. We were not able to move the vehicle and could not even pull off the road out of traffic. There is no way to disable the brakes when the computer or sensors are malfunctioning. We had to get the vehicle towed.

Component or System That Failed: After a routine oil change at Rick Case Hyundai of Roswell on Saturday, \[insert date], my 2022 Hyundai Tucson began shaking significantly. The dealership later informed me the issue was related to a **malfunction in the fuel injector system**. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection upon request. How Safety Was Put at Risk: The shaking occurred immediately upon driving away from the dealership and worsened rapidly. I was concerned about losing control of the vehicle orengine stalling while driving, which could pose a danger to myself, passengers, and others on the road. I returned the vehicle immediately to avoid further risk. Reproduced or Confirmed by Dealer or Service Center: Yes, the problem was confirmed by the dealership (Rick Case Hyundai of Roswell). They diagnosed the issue as being related to fuel injector failure. I am waiting on a written report and confirmation of warranty coverage. Inspected by Manufacturer, Police, Insurance, or Others: At this point, the issue has been inspected and diagnosed by the Hyundai dealership. It has not been inspected by police, insurance, or any other outside parties. Warning Lamps, Messages, or Other Symptoms Before Failure: Warning Lamps, Messages, or Other Symptoms Before Failure: Yes, the check engine light turned on shortly after I noticed the vehicle shaking. The symptoms began **immediately after the oil change**, and the engine light appeared as the shaking worsened. There were no prior warning signs before this incident. This suggests a sudden failure, possibly related to the fuel injection system*, as diagnosed by the dealership.

Fuel injectors. It is available for inspection. (Please!)This is the second failing of an engine, fuel or Powertrain issue. The car was in motion and suddenly just lost power. The first time it occurred about a month after purchased brand new in 2022, the car was coming from a stop light into the middle of an intersection. Driver was thankfully able to glide to side of road since it was early morning and had it towed to dealership. Second time it happened approximately 2 1/2 years later May 29, 2025, the car once again lost engine power at an intersection. Driver, again ,was in a fortunate position to glide off road from a right turn lane. If driver had been in left lanes going speed (55) this would not have ended as well. The car would not restart. Car was towed to dealership. The dealership confirmed that this was a known issue and there was a TSB out. However, there are no kits available to fix it at the moment. And we have no time frame for getting our car back and they have not provided a loaner. The vehicle has only been inspected by the Hyundai dealership. There were absolutely NO warnings before either incidents. However, once the car was in possession at the dealership, we received a phone call from Hyundai BlueLink saying we had a Powertrain issue, which did not make sense since our car had been sitting for two weeks unserviced. If this was related to the same issue they were at least two weeks late. Dealership did not confirm Powertrain issue or how anything would be resolved.

While driving, my entire dashboard lit up with every warning sound and symbol for the car. It would cycle through collision, airbags, braking, all of it. Luckily I was able to drive to a safe place. I let the car sit overnight and the alarms stopped. Took it to service and they could not recreate it and no codes showed up. Second time it happened, the warning sounds and lights didn’t stop. The car would jerk when I tried to put it in drive, so I had it towed to dealership. They have video and photos of it. After 2 weeks, they said it was fixed-a pin in a connector was bent. Had car for 3 days and it happened again. Had it towed again. They have had their ‘senior’ techs looking at it, and none can figure it out. There are Reddit posts with this same issue, as well as Hyundai group sites.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? > While driving, the following systems fail and become inoperable sporadically: blind-spot safety system, tire pressure monitoring system, smart cruise control system, lane following assist system, speed limit warning system, shifter system malfunction, infotainment system, HVAC controls and turn signals. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? > I lose access to all safety systems and am unable to see anything on my dashboard while every single light flashes on the dash. Being unable to utilize my turn signals is dangerous because I must restart the vehicle for the issue to be resolved. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? > The problems were confirmed - but NOT reproduced by the Hyundai certified service center. They stated that they can see logs of the issues and were unable to diagnose the specific failures without the warning lights being actively present. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? > Yes. It was sold to me as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle directly from a Hyundai dealership. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? > The warnings and failures appeared at 64,752 miles, which is less than 5,000 miles after the warranty coverage ended. I purchased the vehicle with 64,300 miles. The issues began less than 500 miles after purchase.

Hyundai has a service bulletin for their 12V battery but isn’t notifying owners. Today my vehicle stopped working and lost all acceleration on a busy 3 lane street that is 55mph. I was able to limp it to a left turn lane where I had to research the issue and found many others had instances like mine. The battery stops working and subsequently stops the vehicle from accelerating and tells you to ‘stop safely’ with no warning or indication that you’re about to stop moving on a road.
