The driver's seat automatic memory/easy-access feature experienced a severe safety system failure. While the seat was automatically moving backward, it hit a child car seat installed in the second row. Instead of detecting the obstruction and stopping, the anti-pinch/contact-detection sensor completely failed. The motor continued to forcefully push backward, crushing against the car seat and ripping open the driver's seatback panel. This failure creates a severe child entrapment and crushing hazard. This contact-detection logic issue highly resembles the power seat recall defects reported for 2026 Palisade models.

Recently purchased this Hyundai Pallisade Calligraphy from Pohanka Hyundai in Maryland. At the time I asked whether the vehicle had the seat recall issue fixed . Was assured by the sales agent it had. Now when I activate the seat memory button, the driver's seat collapses and does not recognize a person is sitting there. I've called Pohanka Hyundai multiple times with an assurance of a call back on the issue and they just ignore my call and never return a call

Following Hyundai Recall 296 on my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy, the second-row “car seat friendly” tilt-and-slide seat functionality changed significantly after the required software update. Prior to the recall update, the seats operated with a one-touch tilt-and-slide function that allowed easy third-row access while using car seats and booster seats. After the recall update: - the seat now requires continuously holding the button during operation, - the seat no longer returns to its previous seating position correctly, - the seatback returns at an unusually upright angle, - and multiple additional manual adjustments are required afterward to reposition the seat properly. As a parent using booster seats daily, I am concerned this updated behavior creates usability issues for children independently accessing the third row and may result in children sitting in improperly adjusted seating positions unless an adult fully readjusts the seat each time. I understand and support the original safety recall, but I wanted to formally document concerns regarding the significantly altered functionality and real-world family usability following the recall remedy.

I am reporting a safety concern following an over-the-air (OTA) recall update (Hyundai Recall #296) on my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy AWD (software version 263Q.LX3.USA.ccNC.001.001.260326). I understand this recall was issued in response to a fatal incident involving the second-row seat system, which is why this issue is especially concerning. Since the update, the second-row walk-in seat function used for third-row access is not operating correctly. When I press the button near the headrest, the seat does not move fully forward, and I have to use the manual slide forward/back button to move it the rest of the way. When returning the seat, it does not go all the way back, and the seatback remains tilted forward at about a 70–80 degree angle instead of returning to its normal upright position, requiring manual adjustment using the recline button. In addition, during one occurrence when the second-row seat was activated, the front passenger seat moved slightly on its own without any input. This unexpected movement of another seat is especially concerning. This behavior began only after the recall update and appears to be a malfunction, possibly related to seat calibration or software coordination between seat systems. This creates a potential safety issue involving unintended seat movement and improper seat positioning.

Dealer sold vehicle with open safety recall. They said it has been fixed but Hyundai confirmed recall is still there. This vehicle even had stop sale from Hyundai. I was informed it has no issues.

On April 28 the automatic seat has broken and has been stuck all the way in the back position. This is making the vehicle unsafe to drive because me or my wife can't reach the petals. We have contacted our local Hyundai dealership and Hyundai Corporate multiple times, but are not getting any calls or emails returned. Al I have is a case number is hyundai corporate who stated a case manager would reach out in one business day. So far it has been three business days and they still have not contacted us.

Component: the second-row power seat and its control system, including the pinch-protection function, on a 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid. The seat and vehicle are available for inspection on request. After the recall remedy (software update) for NHTSA Recall 296 (power seats) was applied, the second-row power seat self-actuates a rearward over-extension. When its pinch protection detects a car seat installed in the second row, the seat moves rearward on its own, further into the third row, and cannot be stopped once it starts. This sharply reduces third-row legroom and can squeeze or harm a third-row occupant. Safety risk: On April 21, 2026, while an adult operated the second-row seat to make enough room to reach into the seat, the seat — instead of stopping once the buttons were released — kept moving rearward on its own, past its original position and into the third-row foot and leg space, compressing and hurting the child's legs and feet. The movement was automatic, gave no warning, and could not be halted, creating a crushing and pinching hazard to any person or object behind the seat. Reproduced and inspected: A franchised Hyundai dealer inspected the vehicle and reproduced this behavior per Hyundai's Safety Team's request. Per the official repair order, the seat "over-extends approximately 15 degrees further into the third row," "cannot be stopped from moving to the extended position," and creates a smaller third-row area that "could potentially harm or squeeze an occupant in the third row." Warning indicators prior to failure: none.

I am filing this complaint to formally report that Hyundai’s finalized remedy for the power seat safety recall (Recall 296) is entirely inadequate, introduces secondary safety hazards, and constitutes a fundamental breach of express warranty regarding the vehicle’s advertised capabilities. Rather than engineering a physical hardware fix to add the necessary anti-pinch sensors that were omitted during manufacturing, Hyundai deployed a permanent software downgrade that breaks heavily marketed core features. I purchased this vehicle approximately two months ago specifically for its seamless third-row accessibility. The first page of the 2026 Palisade sales brochure explicitly states: "And every Palisade offers a one-touch walk-in feature that lets passengers access the third row without removing a child seat. Best of all, every power seat can also be controlled from the driver’s display – so you can be the ultimate host." Hyundai’s final software fix permanently destroys both of these guaranteed features. It completely disables the driver's ability to fold or stow the seats from the central touchscreen. Furthermore, it replaces the one-touch access with a continuous press-and-hold requirement, and mandates that the rear liftgate must be open to use the fold-flat functions from the cargo area. This multi-step process introduces a new safety hazard. Forcing passengers to stand outside the vehicle for extended periods holding a button, or requiring a parent to exit the vehicle and open the rear liftgate just to adjust the seats in a busy school drop-off zone or parking lot, puts my family directly in harm's way. By pushing a software downgrade to quickly lift a stop-sale order, Hyundai has permanently degraded the exact functionality they used to sell the vehicle, rather than implementing a true mechanical repair. I urge the NHTSA to reject this software patch as a final remedy and compel Hyundai to develop a proper physical hardware retrofit.

The issue involves a safety defect affecting the second- and third-row seating system in my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. The defect has been identified through an active manufacturer recall indicating a risk of injury to passengers in these seating positions. The vehicle has been out of service and in the dealership’s possession since April 3, 2026, and is available for inspection upon request. This defect poses a direct safety risk, particularly to children. I have two young children, who would regularly occupy these seats. Due to the recall and lack of an effective repair, I am unable to safely use these seating positions, significantly limiting the safe operation and intended use of the vehicle. The issue has been confirmed by the manufacturer through a safety recall and stop sale. The dealership acknowledged the defect and accepted the vehicle for service; however, after attempted repairs, the condition remained unresolved. When I tested the vehicle at the dealership, both I and a technician observed that the seats continued to present a safety hazard. Specifically, the seat mechanism did not stop or resist as expected and continued moving in a manner that could cause injury. The seat did not stop under pressure and could potentially trap or crush an occupant, even with applied resistance. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealership following direction from a Hyundai Motor America case manager. There has been no involvement from police or insurance representatives. There were no warning lamps or prior symptoms. The defect was identified through a manufacturer-issued recall on or about March 29, 2026. The defect presents a foreseeable risk of injury during normal use and has not been corrected despite manufacturer awareness and attempted repair.

I own a 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy. A recent over-the-air software update removed the ability to control rear seats through the infotainment system, which was a key feature at the time of purchase. This change was made without meaningful notice or consent and significantly alters how the vehicle is used. In some situations, it now requires physically reaching or repositioning to operate seats, which may create new safety or usability concerns when managing passengers or cargo. I relied on this feature while managing kids in the car. I was accustomed to this feature and it was a large reason we purchased the car. It was not “convenience” but a function that allowed us to manage our kids saftey I am submitting this complaint because a major vehicle function was removed after purchase, and I believe post-sale software changes that reduce functionality should be reviewed.

While loading the rear of the vehicle at the end of a camp trip, my child was seated in the second row seat. When I was loading equipment into the trunk, some of the equipment bumped the button that activates folding the seat in the second row. The seat sensor did not identify my child was in the seat, and it began to close on my child. My child was able to open the door and escape the seat before he was crushed. There is a known recall for this hazard.

Some time around November the third row seat didn’t close, so I opened it back up, didn’t see anything stopping it, hit the button again, and then it closed but I heard a crunching noise - I reopened to discover there was a plastic storage box that ended up getting completely crushed. I didn’t think much about it, not even after the recall, until this week. The same left side of third row was closed. I went to open it to get ready to pack out for spring break and it opened half way and got stuck at a 45 degree open angle. It wouldn’t close or open again. During this same time trying to figure it out, my teenager opened the driver side rear door to get into the rear seat to see if something was getting it stuck. At the same time I opened the driver door and the driver seat automatically started moving backwards like always, but with my teenager being the driver seat and her foot got stuck under the driver seat because that sensor as well in the front seat didn’t stop when she was behind it. I think it is beyond just the serving and third rows and the front toe doesn’t have a proper sensor either. This was Friday at 4:50. I immediately called my dealer to see if they could help us get something fixed so we could leave for spring break as planned the next day and they said managers were already gone for the day and told my Hyundai corp needed to handle and gave me that phone number. Hyundai Corp. opened a ticket for me, but said that this was definitely something the dealer would have to handle in regards to getting me a rental and any matter of recourse. I called my local dealer back who said that no one would be able to talk to me until Monday so we had to delay our spring break trip and we are still in limbo, wondering what is going to happen tomorrow. My Husband is absolutely refusing to put our family of four children in the car at this moment because of the safety issues unresolved.

Subject: Urgent Safety Complaint – Child Entrapment Due to Seat Malfunction – Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy On [XXX], my wife was picking up our two [XXX] children from school in our recently purchased Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy (purchased on [XXX]). Our daughter was properly seated in a booster seat in the second-row passenger seat next to my son. Without warning, the vehicle seat began to automatically fold forward and compress inward onto the child. The seat did not respond to any controls and continued closing despite my wife’s attempts to stop it. The force of the seat crushed the booster seat. My wife had to physically intervene and pull our daughter out while the seat continued to move. The seat ultimately locked in a compressed position and could not be reversed using any available controls. This incident caused extreme distress and posed a serious risk of severe injury or death to our child. A school staff member witnessed my wife’s distress immediately following the incident. Upon contacting Hyundai customer service, we were informed that Hyundai was already aware of this issue and that a recall had recently been issued. We were also told that there has already been at least one death associated with this defect. Despite this knowledge, we were not notified prior to this incident. We only received a recall-related communication after the event occurred. We attempted to bring the vehicle to a Hyundai dealership on March 25, 2026. The dealership had no record of our scheduled appointment, could not provide an immediate inspection, and did not offer a loaner vehicle despite the vehicle being unsafe for transporting children. We are no longer able to safely use this vehicle for our family. This complaint is being filed due to: •A critical safety defect involving automatic seat movement and child entrapment •Failure to adequately warn consumers of a known dangerous condition •Exposure of a mino INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am submitting this regarding the remedy implemented under NHTSA Recall 26V-160 (Hyundai Palisade, second/third-row power seat obstruction detection defect). I support the intent of this recall — the underlying defect was serious and the software update appropriately targets improved occupant/object detection. However, I'm concerned about the adequacy and scope of the remedy as applied to the Limited trim specifically. As implemented, the remedy removes the ability to control power-folding seats via the vehicle's infotainment touchscreen entirely, converts seat-fold buttons to press-and-hold operation, and requires the liftgate to be open during folding. On the Limited trim, the third row is the only row equipped with power-folding seats (the second row has no electric folding). As a result, this remedy has eliminated the entire infotainment-based remote-fold control pathway for Limited owners, with no equivalent functionality remaining anywhere in the vehicle. My concern is whether the remedy, by removing an entire control pathway rather than improving its safety through better sensor/detection logic alone, goes beyond what is necessary to address the defect, and whether this scope of functionality removal was adequately disclosed to owners as part of the recall notice. I'd like this recorded as feedback on the remedy's scope and impact on equipped functionality for the Limited trim, separate from the original safety defect itself.

My [XXX] daughter and I were sitting in a parking lot while we waiting for my other child in an appointment. She was walking back and forth between the front of the car and the back of the car. Then all of a sudden I heard screaming and I looked back and she was completely folded in half in the 3rd row seats that were collapsed on her. I jumped back to try and get her out, which I couldn’t, and it took me several seconds to figure out which buttons to push to open the seats back up. I took her to the doctor and they said that really lucky based on how she folded in the seat. I knew there was a recall, but I did not realize that a [XXX] girl died from this on Friday. There have been several incidents where the seats started to close by themselves on our car seats (and the car seats didn’t prevent them from closing), but luckily I was there right when it happened and was able to push a buttons to stop it (again, NOT intuitive on which buttons to push). None of the buttons are intuitive on how they function. The seats have also closed in on my older children before, but they were able to stop them or jump out of the seats in time. On Saturday, March 14, 2026 we received a text message from Hyundai indicating there was a recall for the car. The message contained info stating to use caution when using the power seats. There were no instructions regarding what to do and no info regarding the need to contact the dealer. “Use caution” was the message given. A second message was received on March 16 at 8:56 PM with the same information but also stated there was “No remedy”. Again it was stated to “use caution”. (What is that exactly??). Please note the following incidents: On Monday, March 16 at 4 PM my husband was securing our [XXX] grandchild into the 3rd row seat to his carseat. He was in the backseat to strap him in when the 2nd row seat began to move backward and ultimately trap him. He was unable to get out. I was in the trunk area so I pushed the switch in the cargo area to push the seat forward. There was no response and the seat kept closing in on him. He was being crushed by the seat and his legs were pinned. He recently had a hip replacement. Our grandchild was being crushed with my husband on top of him. We were eventually able to move the seat forward off of my husband. Another grandchild was in a car seat in the second row. The second row seat started to fold down on top of her and I was unable to stop it. The rear facing carseat wedged her between the seats. She was trapped as well. Her legs were pushed up to her shoulders and she was crying. She weighs about 20 pounds. We were unable to move the seat off of her. The carseat remained wedged between the 1st and 2nd rows. We were able to pull her out of the carseat but were unable to get the seat to unfold. See photos That evening we watched the news and noted the story involving the death of a toddler who experienced a malfunction of the seats. Note when we first got the car on 12/22/25 the seats crushed a garbage can(Photo) We now realize why that happened. We contacted the dealer on 3/17, returned car 3/18. I am reporting an inadequate and deceptive remedy for NHTSA Recall 296 (Hyundai Recall 296) regarding the 2026 Palisade Calligraphy. The original safety defect involved the failure of the power-folding 2nd and 3rd-row seats to detect obstructions, leading to a known fatality. However, instead of repairing the defective sensors with functional hardware, Hyundai’s 'remedy' involves a software update that permanently disables advertised vehicle functionality. The 'One-Touch' automatic folding feature, which was a primary selling point of this $55,000+ luxury trim, has been deleted. Furthermore, all touchscreen controls for these seats have been disabled. Owners are now forced to manually hold physical buttons for the duration of the seat movement. This 'fix' shifts the burden of safety onto the consumer rather than repairing the vehicle's faulty equipment. I believe this remedy is a 'feature-stripping' measure to avoid the cost of a proper hardware repair, and it constitutes a substantial loss of vehicle value and utility.

Incident Description: While assisting a child seated in the third row, my wife leaned between the second-row seatback and the vehicle’s side pillar to unbuckle the child’s seatbelt. During this time, the second-row “3rd-row access” button was accidentally pressed, which triggered the automatic powered seat movement. The second-row seat began reclining and moving without warning, and my wife’s head became trapped between the seatback and the side pillar as the seat continued to move. The powered seat did not immediately stop when resistance was encountered, creating a dangerous entrapment situation involving the head and neck area. The seat had to be manually stopped to free her. Fortunately, serious injury was avoided, but the situation posed a significant risk of head, neck, or crushing injury, especially in a family vehicle frequently used to access the third row. Safety Concern: The second-row automatic seat movement can be triggered accidentally and does not appear to have adequate obstruction detection or pinch protection. When someone is leaning into the third row (which is common when assisting children), the seat movement can create a severe head or body entrapment hazard. This appears to be a serious safety defect involving powered seat movement and inadequate obstruction detection.

The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while parked in the driveway, the seat adjustment feature on the second-row passenger side captain's seat failed to detect the presence of a minor occupant. As a result, the seat continued to move, causing compression of the child, who was ultimately able to slide out. The seat adjustment feature became inoperable. The contact stated that the minor occupant sustained a sore back. No medical treatment was obtained. No other injuries were sustained. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact is relating the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number 26V160000 (Seats). The failure occurred at 5,897 miles.

The issue involves the second and third-row power folding seat control system in my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Hybrid following Recall 296. Before the recall update, the vehicle included driver-controlled power folding seat functions through infotainment screen controls and one-touch seat folding operation. After Recall 296 was performed, Hyundai disabled or significantly altered these functions due to safety/compliance concerns involving the seat folding system. The affected component is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has already been inspected and updated by Hyundai under the recall process. My concern is that the recall confirms there was a safety-related issue involving the power folding seat mechanism and occupant protection. While Hyundai modified the system to address safety concerns, I believe NHTSA should continue monitoring whether the revised operation fully resolves the underlying safety risks and whether similar concerns may affect additional vehicles or model years. There was no crash, injury, or fire in my case. No warning lamps or error messages appeared before the recall update. The operational changes became noticeable after the recall remedy/software update was completed. The issue has been confirmed by Hyundai through Recall 296 and Hyundai Motor America’s response regarding the intentional operational changes made to the vehicle.

The vehicle is a 2026 Hyundai Palisade equipped with second- and third-row power seats subject to Recall #296. The power seat system may fail to detect contact with an occupant or object during operation, including folding and tilt functions. This creates a safety risk because the seat can continue moving despite contact with a person, increasing the risk of injury, particularly to children in the rear seating area. This defect has been associated with a reported child fatality. The issue is known and confirmed by the manufacturer through the recall. I became aware of the condition in early March 2026. There were no prior warning messages or indicators before learning of the defect. At this time, no repair or remedy is available and no timeline for correction has been provided. The vehicle remains in service with this unresolved safety defect. Hyundai has been engaged in delay tactics rather than customer service. The condition has not been independently repaired or corrected. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

I was vacuuming out my car with my children. I was on the passenger side and had the second row seat folded down so I could vacuum behind it. I hit a button on the side of the seat. As I was bent over the seat vacuuming still I didn’t realize it was autocorrecting to the full upright position. It did not detect me there and before I knew it I was being sandwiched between the seat back and side of the car. Thankfully because I am an adult and taller I rose up on my tip toes quickly as I was screaming for my children to help. But I didn’t have enough time to get out completely. My head was pinched between the second row seat head rest and the side of the car. I was panicking to find the button as my daughter came running over to find a button to free myself. My ears were red and sore and the side of my head was sore for a while. I’m terrified to think that if that was one of my children as they were helping me vacuum that they would not have been able to raise up tall enough to keep from having severe head trauma or that if the seat had gone back just a little further how seriously injured I may have been. I was traumatized for several days. Understanding that a child died now is just heartbreaking and scares me even more!

2026 Hyundai Palisade Caligraphy Walk-in Auto Cycle crushed my adult daughter's legs between second row seat and the driver's seat. This occurred after my daughter took her seat (in the 2nd row) and our [XXX] grandson (sitting behinder her in the 3rd row seat) inadvertently pressed the "walk-in" button on the back of his mother's seat. Once the auto-cycle started, she did not know how to stop it. This is a completely unacceptable design as the vehicle will move seats in auto-cycle despite the fact that there is a person sitting in the seat. I reported this problem to the dealer and to Hyundai Corporation as a safety issue. I insisted that the vehicle design should be immediately changed and that they treat this as a safety issue. Hyundai engaged with a third party inspector (EAA Bosch) to review the vehicle and the design. Hyundai's final disposition on this to me (sent on Feb. 27, 2026 stated: "...there is no evidence of a defect or malfunction contributing to the reported condition with the seat, at this time. Therefore, while we sympathize with you about the incident, in the absence of a finding of a defect, Hyundai will not be accepting any liability or offering any financial assistance." We asked Hyundai to fix this problem before someone got hurt. The 2nd and 3rd row power-folding seats in my 2026 Hyundai Palisade do not detect the presence of a person or object when automatically folding. The seats continue to fold even if someone is sitting on the seat, creating a serious entrapment and injury risk and even death, especially for children. I reported this safety concern multiple times to the selling dealer (Hyundai of Kirkland), but they stated they could not disable the auto-fold function or provide a fix. Hyundai has now issued Recall 296 related to this defect after a reported child fatality, which confirms the safety risk I previously raised. I purchased this vehicle to transport my newborn child and this defect creates a severe safety hazard. I am filing this complaint to document the issue and the lack of a timely remedy.

Power folding seats do not stop when met with an obstruction. Occupant exiting the 3rd row of the vehicle was squished between the 2nd row seat and door frame of vehicle while trying to exit and it was very painful. When tested at the dealership, they confirmed that, even if excessive force is applied to the seat back while it’s folding or sliding, it will not stop folding or sliding, which could cause physical injury. Dealership stated that there is no sensor to stop the seats from folding, even if there is an obstruction in the way and that you must press the button again to stop it. This is a safety concern for any passengers on the 2nd and 3rd rows, especially children.

1. The 2nd row powered seats do not (or the system failed) have a force feedback sensor or anyway to tell if something or someone is in the way from it moving the seat back. 2. If someone is climbing into the 3rd row seat and the button to move a 2nd row seat is pressed the person can be crushed, potentially pinning them in place and or choking their neck 3. The incident happened at a dealership with a at the time unsold car that had just arrived. I was personally able to reproduce the problem by pressing the button on the seat that moves it back into place while I was sitting behind it, the seat attempted to recline back pinning me in place till I pressed the button again. 4. I went to start the car and it was totally dead. It is used 7 days a week and driven back and forth to work 5 days a week. There was no warning and nothing was left on, just dead. I took the car to the dealer yesterday and they did an electrial system analysis and only found the battery had a slight discharge. Which is frustrating because I don't know when or where this could happen again. The dealer charged the battery and it seems ok at this point.

The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while an occupant was seated in the second row passenger seat, the contact accidentally tapped the "ONE-TOUCH" TILT-AND-SLIDE BUTTON. Despite the occupant seated in the second row, the seat continued to fold, nearly crushing the occupant. The occupant managed to jump out of the vehicle as the seat continued to fold; they did not suffer any injuries. The contact stated that the vehicle was in park(P) at the time of the failure, which allowed the occupant to reach safety; the contact noted that had a child or a pet been seated in that second row, the results could have been fatal. The contact received an email from a "Reuters" news article about Hyundai Manufacturer Recall Number 296, which the contact related to the seat failure in the recall. The remedy for the recall was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable time for the recall repair. I am reporting a safety concern involving my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Limited involving repeated engine malfunction warning lights and diagnostic trouble code P001600 (camshaft/crankshaft timing correlation fault). This issue has occurred multiple times within the first 60 days of ownership and the vehicle has been taken to a Hyundai dealership twice. The dealer has not been able to determine a permanent repair and states the code is stored as a history fault without an available fix at this time. This defect is concerning because camshaft/crankshaft timing correlation faults can potentially result in engine stall, loss of power, or unexpected shutdown while driving, which could create a serious safety risk. I routinely drive long distances and transport two small children in this vehicle and no longer feel confident in the safety and reliability of this vehicle due to the unresolved engine defect. Additionally, I understand there is a recent safety recall affecting certain 2026 Hyundai Palisade vehicles, which increases my concern about the safety of this vehicle platform. I am submitting this complaint because this appears to be a potential safety defect involving engine operation that could affect safe driving conditions.

While driving on a California freeway at approximately 70mph, the engine check light began flashing, the vehicle experienced a sudden and severe power loss, entered reduced power mode, and began violently shaking. Engine braking occurred without brake light activation, creating an immediate rear-end collision risk from following traffic. The vehicle would not stop shaking until restarted. This occurred twice — once in January 2026 and again in March 2026, both on the freeway with passengers in the vehicle. The dealer confirmed fault codes P0303 (Cylinder 3 Misfire), P0306 (Cylinder 6 Misfire), and P0300 (Random/Multiple Misfire) on both visits. On the first visit the dealer called the codes normal and returned the vehicle unrepaired. The second visit lasted 44 days. The dealer could not reproduce the fault during the entire 44-day period. A Hyundai Field Service Engineer physically visited the dealership and applied a special software update to the Engine Control Module. The closed repair order documents this as "UPDATE SPECIAL SOFTWARE INTO ENGINE CONTROL UNIT" with no TSB number, no software version before or after, and no GDS event number. The dealer confirmed they have no access to this update and cannot verify what was changed. No Proof of Correction was issued for California emissions compliance. The two recalls performed on the same repair order both have proper TSB numbers and STUI documentation. The ECM update has none. Concerned about emissions compliance and potential fault code suppression on a California-registered vehicle.

I have been continuously receiving check engine notifications that show the engine cylinders misfiring. This seems to only happen at highway speeds which could cause a safety hazard should the driver need to accelerate for merging/passing/etc. I have brought this issue into the dealership once so far and they said they couldn't do anything since they were unable to replicate the issue while driving it. From what I've seen online, many other owners of this vehicle are having similar problems with the same responses from their local dealerships.

I was a making a left hand turn at a stoplight. The light turned yellow, and as I was in the intersection, I pressed the gas pedal to complete the turn. The pedal went to the floor, but the car did not accelerate. It barely rolled forward. I had to slam on the brake so I would not roll into the intersection, and turn. I reeased the pedal, and tried again, and the vehicle did accelerate. This failure has happened 4 times to me. I have also had the experience with making a right-hand turn from a stop. Again, when depressing the accelerator, the engine did not go. In one case it was delayed, then sped up very quickly. I has been to the dealer twice, once for 2 days, and once for 9 days. They have been unable to find anything wrong. I was able to demonstrate the problem with a technician in the vehicle, but he really could not see me depressing the gas, so was really unable to experience that I had a problem, even though I verbally mentioned the incident. The car at the time had less than 500 miles on it. To summarize. I have experienced left-hand turn problems 4 times, and right hand problems twice., or a total of 6 times.

Five days after I bought my vehicle, I was driving down the freeway that was very empty. A small rock hit my windshield, I think… I never saw anything. It caused an explosion on the right side of my windshield and glass shattered inside the vehicle. I made a claim with my insurance and pay the $500 deductible and got the windshield replaced. Two days after I replaced the windshield, a small something hit my windshield and made a tiny rock chip. A few days later, I went to get the rock chip repaired, and as soon as the technician put the device and started to fill the rock chip, the wind shield cracked halfway across. I have been driving for almost 40 years and I have replaced one windshield and repaired maybe three rock chips. To have had a car for five weeks (two of which I couldn't drive because the windshield "exploded" crack was too deep), and already have paid TWO $500 deductibles and made two windshield claims is absolutely unbelievable. There has to be a flaw in the glass. The auto glass professionals said that they have replaced three windshields on Palisades in the past week.

The front grille on my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy has developed visible deformation that appears consistent with heat damage or melting. The plastic behind and around the grille slats shows wavy, rippled distortion and texture changes. There is no evidence of impact damage, road debris, or external chemical exposure. The vehicle has approximately 2,000 miles and is only about 42 days old. The vehicle is unmodified and has been used under normal driving conditions. This damage appears to be a material or manufacturing defect, as automotive grille plastics should not deform under normal operating temperatures. I took the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai service center. The dealer acknowledged the condition but stated it would not be covered under warranty, claiming there is nothing mechanical wrong and that it is not a defect. No alternative explanation was provided for the heat-related deformation. I am concerned this may be related to excessive heat buildup behind the grille, material failure, or a design issue involving airflow, active grille shutters, or reflective trim. This condition should not occur on a new vehicle and may affect vehicle safety, cooling performance, or long-term durability. Photos of the affected grille areas are attached for reference.

Following completion of Recall Campaign 296, the third-row rear seat continued to exhibit the same hazardous behavior the recall was intended to correct. During testing, the power-folding third-row seat fully closed onto a U.S. military-issued Kevlar helmet and remained latched in the fully seated/down position without reversing or detecting an obstruction. This demonstrates that the recall remedy/software update failed to restore adequate occupant detection and did not correct the underlying anti-pinch safety functionality. The seat continued applying force against the obstruction instead of stopping or reversing as expected from a functioning anti-pinch system, creating an ongoing risk of serious injury or death to occupants, including children.

My [XXX] granddaughter was buckled in the second row seat. The 2nd row seat button was pushed. My granddaughter started screaming about the seat coming down on her. We kept trying to stop it, it finally stopped (we were lucky). I ran to my granddaughter and she was completely squashed in the seat and could not get out. She is tiny, roughly 40 lbs, the opening was roughly 6" to 8". It was not easy but I was able to pull her out. We did not touch the button or try to move the seat until I arrived back home on Saturday night, 1/31/26. My husband pushed the button and was able to place the 2nd row seat back into place. This was really scarry and with all the sensors the Palisade has, I am not sure how this happened. Prior to purchasing this car, we did our research on the safety and reliability of 2026 SUV's. I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2026 Hyundai Palisade with fewer than 5,000 miles. Hyundai has now issued Recall 296 stating that the second and third row power seats may not respond properly when contacting an occupant or object. Prior to receiving the recall notice, I had already taken the vehicle to the dealership three separate times regarding problems with the rear seats and unexplained battery failures. Each time I was told nothing was wrong with the seats. The first incident occurred when my child was seated in the rear seat. I attempted to move the seat backward to create more space, but instead of opening properly the seat continued moving in a way that began closing toward my child and would not stop. I was able to quickly remove my child before the seat fully closed. The seat then continued moving on its own. The second incident involved the vehicle battery completely dying without warning. When AAA came to jump start the vehicle, I heard the rear seat motors operating mechanically even though no one was using the seats. The third incident occurred when the battery died again and AAA was called a second time. During the jump start I again heard mechanical movement from the rear seat motors. I had to pay to replace the battery even though the vehicle was nearly new. I informed the dealership multiple times that I believed the issue was related to the seat system, but they told me they could not find anything wrong. Given that Hyundai has now issued Recall 296 regarding malfunctioning power seats, I am extremely concerned that this defect presents a serious safety hazard, particularly to children in the rear seats. I believe the seat system may also be draining the battery due to unintended motor operation.

While traveling along a high-speed highway, our 2026 Palisade unexpectedly suffered a severe loss of acceleration. Despite fully depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle struggled to exceed approximately 20 miles per hour. This alarming malfunction placed us in a precarious and potentially dangerous situation, as the drastic reduction in speed exposed us to the risk of being rear-ended by faster-moving traffic. On a separate occasion, the vehicle again exhibited troubling behavior, failing to respond appropriately while merging onto the highway. This hesitation significantly compromised our ability to safely enter the flow of traffic and could have easily resulted in a collision. Disturbingly, in both incidents, the vehicle provided no warning indicators or alerts on the dashboard, leaving us without any guidance or explanation for these critical failures.

I picked up my vehicle from the dealership after it being there for almost 2 weeks for multiple DTC codes, a dash cam component replacement, and recall updates. On the way home, my check engine light flashed on and off multiple times while driving at highway speeds (although no codes were recorded in my Hyundai app diagnostics). When I exited the highway, I came to a stop sign on the off ramp and waited till cross traffic cleared. I went to accelerate into traffic, but my car would barely move. This happened 4 more times in the short drive to my home. This could pose a serious safety risk if I'm unable to accelerate to merge into traffic and get stuck in cross traffic.

My vehicle is subject to Manufacturer Recall 297/NHTSA Recall 26V169. My dashboard is indicating that the third row driver seat is buckled when it is not. Also, when the seat belt is actually buckled, it will sometimes indicate that it is not. This is a safety issue as I cannot tell whether the seat belt is actually buckled or not. Additionally, the seat will not fold because it thinks a person is sitting in the seat. I have taken my vehicle for to Great Lakes Hyundai of Dublin twice (May 6 and April 16th) to complete the recall. Safety-Critical Shifter System Malfunction - I am experiencing a recurring and serious shift system defect with my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. The issue first occurred within the first 500 miles of ownership, shortly after purchasing the vehicle new. At that time, the vehicle required diagnosis and repair by the dealership and remained out of service for nearly one month. Despite that repair, the same or a very similar issue has now returned. The vehicle displays a "Shifter System Malfunction – Service Immediately" warning and does not allow me to change gears while the vehicle is running. The gear selector becomes unresponsive, and the only way to restore functionality is to shut the vehicle off and restart it. After restarting, the vehicle often engages with a loud thud/clunk and significant vibration that can be felt throughout the vehicle. This creates serious concerns about the safety, reliability, and overall integrity of the drivetrain and shift-by-wire system.

I purchased a new 2026 palisade on 8/30/2025. The day after I purchased it I started noticing the car jumping/bucking/hesitating to get up to speed, also it jumps and jolts around different speeds. I brought the car back to the dealership 2 days later for them to look at it. After explaining the problem they drove the car by a tech and also the service manager, with the car being so new. After review of the car, the service person told us verbally that the service manager did feel some hesitation in the car but that the car was so new that it is most likely caused by TAP tables (the car learning how a driver drives). After 30 days of the driving the car, it did not get better, only worse. I brought the car back to the dealership on 9/29 again to have them look at it. They first told me nothing was wrong and that the car just "rode rough" . The service person i was dealing with asked for us to drive in the car together so I could point out what I was feeling when I drove it. While he was driving I could feel the hesitation even in the passenger seat. I pointed it out everytime I felt it, to which he confirmed he felt as well. After the test drive, he allowed me to drive a similar model closest to mine. While I drove that vehicle, I felt that same exact feeling I was feeling in mine. He recommended that I file a formal complaint and that he would send all the information into the warranty department. He also stated during the drive that the new Santa Fe, when they were first released had a similar issue and that they finally release a software update to resolve the issue with the trans and that may also be the case with the new palisade as well. My advice to anyone buying this car, during the test drive make sure you request to take this on the highway and get it in the range of 65-75mph and keep it idle at 70 for a bit and make sure you dont get stuck with the same problem! My previous vehicle had a transmission issue and this is exact same feeling in the Palisade

It appears there is an ongoing issue with the Driver's Assistance. More specifically with automatic braking regarding forward collision. On 4 separate occasions, the vehicle has gone haywire with several alarms and icons going off at once and then sudden braking in the middle of the road before I have even realized what is going on. The issue is the car decided it was time to slam on the brakes right in the middle of the road while I was driving so it was very jarring. I have brought the vehicle to the dealership once and they kept it for 2 days to inspect the problem and could "not reproduce the problem". So they returned the vehicle to me. However, the issue occurred 3 more times after they returned it to me within 3 wks. So, I am dropping it off again for them to keep until they locate the problem now that I believe I have narrowed it down to the Driver's Assistance and forward collision issue. When I disable the driver's assistance/forward collision toggle, there "appears" to solve the issue. I have not had the same problem when that specific toggle is off as of yet. There have been no inspections from a manufacturer rep, police or insurance rep. There were a ton of warning lamps at one time just prior to the automatic braking, some regarding power train, battery, and several others. I have photos.

On at least 8 occasions, the vehicle has issued a warning to take control now of the vehicle and then begun to stop the vehicle. On 2/16/26, it tried to stop the vehicle on two occasions, and the driver had to press the gas pedal as a car was approaching from behind. I have videos and dash cam videos of several occurrences. It also has determined that an overpass was an obstacle and tried to stop the vehicle. I have taken it to the Hyundai dealership 5x. Hyundai cannot duplicate the issue, but the videos clearly show the problem. It is random. There is a significant defect with the sensors and/or software.

I am reporting that Hyundai’s Recall 296 remedy appears inadequate and that Hyundai closed the recall on my vehicle even though the underlying rear-seat safety hazard remained unresolved. My complaint involves the second- and third-row powered seat system, including the fold/stow and walk-in functions. My core safety complaint is that the second-row seat continued to move under powered operation despite resistance from a properly installed child seat using LATCH. I also reported that the third-row seat could still collapse under powered operation despite the presence of an object. This is a crush/entrapment hazard, especially for children. I presented the vehicle for this same rear-seat safety concern multiple times. Even after Hyundai and the dealer treated the recalls as completed, the condition remained unresolved and I returned the vehicle again for the same issue. Hyundai and the dealer changed and used inconsistent completion dates while continuing software/update activity and then still failed to acknowledge my real-world safety concerns after the supposed repair. I also reported additional post-update problems including fluctuating cabin air temperature, blower speed fluctuation without input, and reduced ventilated-seat cooling. Hyundai ultimately took the position that those systems were operating normally and instructed the dealer to release the vehicle. My complaint is not merely that Hyundai issued a recall. My complaint is that Hyundai treated Recall 296 as completed, changed the vehicle’s seat functionality by disabling or limiting previously available automatic features, used inconsistent completion timing, and still failed to correct or acknowledge the underlying safety defect I continued reporting. I am asking NHTSA to review whether Recall 296 is actually correcting the defect in service, or whether affected vehicles remain unsafe after Hyundai marks the recall complete.

While on/idol, the 3rd row seat (left/drivers side) folded down on my 9 year old niece. Myself, mother, 6 year old daughter, sister in law, brother and 12 year old niece all witnessed this happen as we were loading into the car after playing at the park (I had the car turned on). Her head got pinned to the headrest of the 2nd row captain seat. The buttons did not respond as they usually/supposed to do to stop and reverse the folding action. The seat continued to press against her skull. After realizing the buttons in the cargo were not going to work, I had an idea and ran to the 2nd row door and pressed the captain seat button to slide it forward (my child was in that captain seat in a rear facing carseat). It wasn't able to move much but enough that the trapped girl was able to force her head out and her mom pulled her the rest of the way out to release her. It was very traumatizing. That 3rd row seat remained in that almost closed position as the buttons still would not function so we drove home. Eventually I tried the buttons in the again and it unfolded the seat. I have tested these buttons over and over since then to figure out what happened. Every time I test them, each button allows me to either release it and the action stops, or press the button again and the action stops. I do not know why it wouldn't respond to doing that same that day. Prior to that incident, sometime between getting the car on 7/31 and mid-November, I had an empty unbuckled backless booster car seat in the third row right/passenger side as a backup for daughters friends to use, and without remembering it was there, I pressed the button to fold down the 3rd row right side chair and it kept stopping and auto reversing, several times before I realized oh ya, the booster is back there. So when the innocent happened with my niece, it came as a big surprise because that booster weighs nothing compared to a 9 year old. It has not happened again

It took me by surprise, so I pressed the park gear to stop the vehicle. Then it happened again yesterday 2/22/2026. I called the dealer today 2/23/2026 to report the issue, they won't have a loaner until 3/06/2026. I have the video BUT I AM UNSURE how to upload or share Incident Description: The vehicle is experiencing intermittent, complete engine stalls while in motion at highway speeds. The failure has occurred four times. Initial Symptom: The issue first manifested as "stuttering" and erratic behavior from the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) which I thought it was. Escalation: The vehicle has since progressed to a total loss of power. During these incidents, I was forced to pull over on high-speed corridors (Hwy 46 and Hwy 5) to restart the vehicle. Recurring Pattern: Most recently, after a stall and restart, the vehicle stalled again within a few blocks. I have captured video evidence of the stall occurring immediately after the vehicle was "reset" and put back into motion. Safety Concern: This is a life-threatening defect. The vehicle loses propulsion without warning in high-speed traffic. The manufacturer’s service department (Hyundai) has been unable to identify a diagnostic fault code, citing "No Problem Found," and has only attempted a software/values reset, which has failed to correct the physical stalling.

NHTSA SAFETY DEFECT REPORT Vehicle: 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Mileage at Failure: Approximately 3 weeks from new Location: Colorado DESCRIPTION OF FAILURE While driving under completely normal conditions on a local road with no overpasses, no debris, and no external hazards, the sunroof glass suddenly exploded upward without warning. There was: No rock impact No falling object No roadway debris No weather event The glass failure originated from within the sunroof structure and shattered outward/upward. OUT-OF-CONTROL SHIPPING PERIOD Because this vehicle was purchased new, it spent a period of time in manufacturer and dealership custody during shipping and storage prior to delivery. During that time: The vehicle was not in owner control Any manufacturing defect, stress fracture, or transit-related glass damage could only have originated before delivery DANGER CREATED Sudden explosive glass failure while driving, no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure or after the failure. Risk of facial injury Risk of shattered glass entering vehicle cabin Risk of loss of vehicle control Extreme startle response at speed This could easily have caused a serious accident or injury. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE Hyundai dealership and Hyundai Consumer Affairs reviewed photographs submitted by the dealer and wrongfully denied warranty coverage, claiming outside damage without any physical proof. IMPORTANT NOTE This appears to be a tempered glass manufacturing or transit defect, consistent with internal stress fractures that cause spontaneous sunroof explosions.

Batteries in the brand new 2026 Hyundai Palisade are failing by dying unexpectedly with under 500 miles on the vehicle. I have documented over 20 instances with new owners online. This is a safety concern because it can leave people stranded in cold weather. It appears to be an issue with the digital key. I contacted Hyundai and they are not concerned. They just test the battery and say they can't find anything wrong.

Constant and consistent Alerting (Attention) with the (steering and eye alert) icons present. NOTE: It would be helpful to understand and be told the exact sensor or type of alert (eye camera, steering input, forward camera) that triggered the alert! As it stands, every few seconds to minutes the alert states driver is not attentive. Eventually between 2-8 warnings is unrecoverable and the cruise control shuts itself off after a myriad set of warnings. No matter what is attempted the car ends the cruise control and the driver MUST maintain control at that point (decelerating from highway/interstate speeds dramatically). Myself and all family drivers experience this IMMEDIATELY after activation. Dealership has reported no trouble after 50 miles of driving (as stated). I have video of this issue and am adding them to youtube (2026 hyundai palisade cruise control fail) for others to see. This is UNSAFE and DISTRACTING! The alerts alone are enough to deactivate this (if available, but: it cannot be deactivated!) let alone decelerating from speed for "no good reason" outside of drivers DIRECT control. The only solution I HAVE is to not use cruise control and the safety features (as they are marketed to work) and negate the safety features I purchased the vehicle for.

Problem Statement: Instrument cluster has an instrumentation update lag of approximately 10 seconds. The problem may or not be present when you turn the vehicle on. Description of Problem: Turning on the vehicle. The Instrument cluster does not load properly. Different display elements appear in a different sequence than normal. The speedometer remains at zero even though the car is moving. The lag to begin changing the speed indicated is approximately 7-10 seconds. The car can be moving at 60 miles per hour, and the speedometer indicates zero. When the car is stopped the guage may read the prior steadystate speed of the vehicle. For example. Going from 65mph to a stop the speedometer will continue to read 65mph even though it has stopped. Potential Safety issues •Driver Speed Awareness: The driver may unknowingly exceed speed limits, exposing themselves to traffic citations or legal liability. •Inability to gauge speed accurately may lead to unsafe driving behaviors, such as entering curves or approaching intersections too quickly. •Braking and Stopping Distance Misjudgment: If the driver believes they are traveling more slowly than they actuallyare, they may underestimate stopping distances. This can result in rear-end collisions, failure to yield, or inability to stop in time for pedestrians or cross traffic. •Acceleration and Merging Risks: During highway merging or lane changes, the driver may not accelerate appropriately relative to surrounding traffic. A lagging or frozen speedometer can cause misjudgments of closing speeds, leading to sideswipe or merging collisions. •Entering a curve: Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control might expect you to slow down for a curve or exit. But if speed is misrepresented, it might delay braking or deceleration, causing the vehicle to approach the curve too fast, increasing risk of lane drift or rollover. Dealerhas been excellent to work with. They are aware of the issue and are recitifying the problem.

We are currently on a road trip. Fortunately we were in a 55mph zone and not going faster. While driving on the highway, the hood released from the latch and popped open. Fortunately the secondary latch caught it and we were able to pull over safely. I can’t imagine if we were going faster if the secondary latch would’ve withheld it. Very scary incident

2026 Hyundai Palisade SEL 8P AWD. Brake pedal sinks to floor when depressed while vehicle is in motion, causing vehicle to glide before stopping. Defect first noticed June 1, 2026 and confirmed June 2, 2026 at approximately 530 miles during a 34-mile round trip with consistent repeated occurrence at both low and moderate speeds. Vehicle returned to dealership for diagnosis. Dealership declared unable to duplicate. No diagnostic trouble codes found. Hyundai engineering was consulted by dealership. This is a second serious defect on this vehicle — a full transmission assembly replacement was performed under warranty in May 2026 within 4 days of delivery and approximately 259 miles of personal use. Hyundai Motor America lemon law re-evaluation currently in progress.

We lease a 2026 Palisade with only 4k miles. Several weeks ago I was going through a toll plaza, car would not accelerate after slowing down, as if it was in neutral. All of a sudden it kicked into gear and car lunged forward. 10 min later at a traffic light car failed to accelerate after a complete stop. Press the accelerator sluggish response, then kicked back into gear. Very Scary. I pulled over and notified the dealer. Then set an appoint. Dealer did a diagnostic, found no issues, could not replicate problem on test drive . Everything was fine a few weeks. My son took the car. Had the same exact issue with vehicle not accelerating. Then kicked into gear really hard and vibrating. This was scary for him because he was in a parking lot. Luckily there was no accident as a result. However, this time an error code (check engine light) came on and the Hyundai app showed a DTC CODE- P001600 (powertrain / engine). Car was immediately taken to dealer on May 28th 2026. It is now Jun 11th. Still no time frame for fix. The THINK it a software issue and Hyundai is still "working" on a solution.

I am the owner of a 2026 Hyundai Palisade, purchased new less than 60 days ago. This vehicle is currently subject to a safety recall involving the 2nd and 3rd row power seat assemblies, which reportedly lack sufficient anti-pinch protection during certain seat adjustment functions, including automatic power-folding (stow) and the one-touch tilt-and-slide (“walk-in”) feature. We experienced this defect firsthand in our vehicle. During operation of the second-row seat adjustment feature, the seat continued moving without adequate resistance detection or automatic stop, indicating a failure of the anti-pinch protection system. This created a hazardous condition where an occupant could become trapped or injured by the moving seat mechanism. This issue is especially concerning because these seat functions are located in areas of the vehicle intended for passengers and children. We have an infant who will be occupying these seating areas, and this defect presents a direct safety risk. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have also become aware that this defect has been linked to multiple injuries and the death of a young child. Additionally, Hyundai has issued a stop-sale on affected vehicles, yet current owners are still expected to operate them without a confirmed repair available. At this time, no remedy has been completed on my vehicle, and I do not believe it is safe to operate given the nature of the defect and its location within the passenger seating area. I was told to ask the dealership for a loaner, which the dealership does not have. Additionally, Hyundai said they would cover $60/day in rental fees. A similarly-sized SUV in our area rents at $210/day - a payment discrepancy we cannot afford.

2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy, VIN [XXX] , purchased March 6, 2026 with under 2,200 miles at time of incident. SAFETY INCIDENT: While operating under adaptive cruise control at highway speed, the vehicle experienced sudden unintended acceleration followed by severely delayed braking response. At least three trailing vehicles were forced into emergency evasive action to avoid a multi-vehicle collision. Family members were present. This event represents a direct and immediate threat to the safety of vehicle occupants and the public. The root cause has not been definitively identified or resolved. The authorized dealership confirmed CAN-Bus resistance irregularities — 160 ohms versus the designed 120-ohm specification — governing acceleration, braking, and all driver assist systems. Prior symptoms included flickering interior lighting. An initial module replacement failed. Repair has escalated to full wiring harness replacement with no parts availability and no confirmed timeline. The safety event remains undiagnosed and unresolved. The vehicle carries three simultaneous active safety recalls — 293, 296, and 297 — all involving electrical and wiring systems on the Calligraphy trim exclusively. None have permanent remedies. The vehicle has been in dealer custody since March 21, 2026 and is available for inspection. Hyundai Motor America active case — No. XXX. This vehicle is not safe to operate. Small rock chip in windshield and the next day when turning on the defrost a long crack formed that is approximately 10-12 inches. The windshield is very flimsy and driving with a cracked windshield is a safety issue. The dealer confirmed that several others have called with windshield repairs and that they don't do the work themselves and told me to call safelite.

The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that the vehicle turned off on several occasions after the engine Auto START/STOP system was engaged. The vehicle was restarted and was taken to the dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated. Additionally, upon starting the vehicle after the vehicle was refueled at a gas station, the check engine and several other unknown warning lights were illuminated, and the vehicle failed to respond while shifted to drive(D). The vehicle was towed to the contact's business. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed because there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 5,463.

Small rock chip in windshield and the next day it was already a long crack formed that is taking up the entire driver view. How this cracked after sitting in my garage overnight is beyond me. I have now been told by the dealership (Northwest Hyundai in Houston) that my dealer windshield coverage only covers up to $1,000 and the replacement is almost $1.900. he said there is no aftermarket options to get it for less. When I bought the car, they said the overage would cover the cost to replace the entire windshield if needed. (I know never buy the dealer add on, but it was a crunch situation to get the car I needed, and I got it for MSRP with the dealer add ons anyways so figured hey if something happens at least I dont have to pay for a new windshield.... welp-- didnt expect to deal with a chip during into a long crack over night.

Dear Public Safety office, I am writing to request clarification regarding the proper operation of seat belt retractors. I want to ensure that I fully understand how seat belt mechanisms are intended to function during normal adult use. The reason for my inquiry is that I am experiencing inconsistent behavior between the driver side and passenger side seat belts in my new vehicle (Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy 2026). I have taken the car to the dealership and they informed me that it's working as expected by Hyundai but I am still unclear. I want to confirm whether the behavior I am seeing aligns with safety requirements. Here is what I am observing: •The driver side seat belt behaves as I would expect: if pulled fully and released quickly, it locks momentarily, but it releases normally on the next pull. •The passenger side seat belt, however, locks and remains locked, preventing the occupant from pulling the belt out again and moving even a quarter of an inch. This only unlocks when they completely unlatch and relatch it. This occurs even when the belt has not been fully extended. My questions are: 1.Should a seat belt ever remain locked to the point where an adult passenger cannot pull the belt out again without unlatching it and not even move a bit? 2.Is it expected for the driver and passenger retractors to behave differently under normal use? I want to ensure that I understand the federal requirements correctly before pursuing further inspection or repair. Any guidance or clarification you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and assistance. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving, the vehicle displays a warning of "Eyes on Road, Hands on Wheel". It has happened 6x since vehicle purchase, most recent on 10 Jan 26. The most recent occurrence was 10 Jan 26. Hyundai has issued a bulletin that this could occur when wearing sunglasses. The most recent time it was raining, no sun, no sunglasses and hands were on wheel at 10/2. Warning message displayed for several seconds (eyes on road/hands on wheel) and then went into stop mode on the highway. Tapping the brakes broke the lock and are continued without stopping. Been to dealership 3x. Hyundai says it can be caused due to sunglasses. Most recent time, no sunglasses.

2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Hybrid, VIN: [XXX]. Two original equipment Pirelli Scorpion MS 265/45 R21 108V tires developed sidewall bulges within 4,582 miles of normal road use, all within 5 days of each other. No off-road driving. No significant impacts. Vehicle was brand new. Failures: front left, rear left, and both right side tires within the same week (blew up as a parked to the curb on the low speed-and where dismissed at the Americas tire as an impact damage) Two tires submitted for Pirelli warranty inspection: Tire 1: Beltran Tires, Modesto CA. Pirelli claim #XXX. Denied via customer service email only — no technical report, no inspector name, no methodology provided. Conclusion: "ply breakage due to impact." Tire 2: America's Tire, Seaside CA. Delivered to Pirelli facility McDonough GA, Feb 26 2025, UPS #[XXX]. No determination issued to date. Dealer refused tire submission for weeks. Corporate escalation and Pirelli technical intervention required before pickup occurred. Out of pocket costs: $420 (Beltran, mileage confirmed 4,582) and $2,387.57 (4x Michelin replacement, America's Tire order #XXX). Total loss: $2,807.57. Also my vehicle had to be towed and I had to pay out of pocket for that as well. Four sidewall failures under 5,000 miles on a new vehicle is a potential manufacturing defect and highway safety risk. While driving on my 2026 Palisade Calligraphy over last 6 months I lost all throttle/ gas response to engine on 12 separate occasions. The 3rd incident nearly resulted in serious crash in 55mph traffic. Went to dealer next day on 11/15 ref# 41788829 service found no codes, reset system and recommended a flight recorder to help diagnose. Filed with NHTSA on 12/3 after next incident ref # 11702738. Requested flight recorder multiple times with dealer and Hyundai case manager and after multiple visits, diagnostic drives and component replacement on 1/20 and 2/23 the dead throttle continued. On 4/7 I was finally issued recorder and captured 3 incidents of the problem that could not exist within 2 days. Dealer acknowledged problem and says they can not fix without help from Hyundai engineers. Hyundai will not buy back and tell me to go back to dealer for resolution. Dealer claims to have submitted all relevant info to Hyundai but will not produce requested paperwork to me for most of visits (illegal? ). I have been assigned 3 separate case managers who try to assign new case #42539227 and separate it from initial ref # 41788829 while denying buyback with documentation they refuse to share. I am driving an unsafe and dangerous suv with 3 clearly documented Hyundai flight recorder incidents and acknowledged safety issue.

Entire instrument cluster goes black while driving. Speedometer, odometer, tachometer, turn signal indicators, everything stops working and just a blank screen. Have a video of it happening. I am a 77 year old senior and was driving my 2025 Hyundai Tucson Highbrid at approx. 70 MPH on the highway, then suddenly there was significant shuddering through the Tucson with noticeable loss of power. The Tucson dropped to 30 MPH. After that it would accelerate with significant shuddering. This would repeat several times while driving. In addition there were no Malfunctioning indicators, or warning lights. We were never so scared in our lives. This occurred on Thursday , October 2 nd.2025 at around 1:00 P. M. On highway 355 and 53 traveling Northbound.

Rear passenger captain chairs and third row bench do not respond to occupancy when folding. I have dogs who I put in the cargo area with the third row down. My dogs are prone to move and bump buttons which has caused one or both captains chairs to move forward when loading them into the vehicle. Hyundai is aware of the problem and a temporary remedy is pending. There were no warning lights or messages prior. From a complete stop acceleration is intermittently jerky until a speed over 30mph is achieved. This is likely to do with the engine but I’m unsure if that’s the only component involved. Safety has not been at risk yet because it still accelerates but in a very jerky manner. Definitely has caused anxiety wondering if/when it will get worse. There have been no warning lights or notifications prior to this happening.
