The right-side headlight may have an incorrect headlight aim label, which can result in improperly aimed headlights. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 "N" vehicles equipped with left-foot braking (LFB) and N e-shift features. The integrated electronic brake (IEB) and vehicle control unit (VCU) software may cause reduced braking performance when LFB is activated. Additionally, the vehicle may continue to accelerate after the pedal is released and the vehicle's N e-shift feature is engaged.

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 "N" vehicles equipped with a left-foot braking (LFB) feature. The integrated electronic brake (IEB) and vehicle control unit (VCU) software may cause reduced braking performance when LFB is activated.

ICCU failed with a pop sound in the evening. Next morning, on my way to the dealership, car started fine, alerted me about the “check electric vehicle system”, but drove fine for about a mile. Then the car came to a crawl mode, refusing to go over 20mph and stopped completely with out any indication. Luckily, I was in a quiet neighborhood and was able to steer the car to the curb safely.

I pulled my car out of the garage and proceeded to drive up the street. I suddenly heard a weird sound and an emergency warning appeared on my dashboard stating to check vehicle electrical system. I immediately stopped the car and returned it to the garage. Upon turning the car on a second time to check the message a second message appeared saying “stop vehicle and check power supply”. I called Hyundai for a tow truck to have the vehicle towed to the dealer. When I turned on the car to back it out of the garage it got halfway out and the entire system shut down making everything inoperable including flashing emergency lights, windows etc. there was very little time between the warning light going on and the car becoming inoperable. The dealer diagnosed a failure of the ICCU system which has been reported for several years. A quick Google search reveals that many Ionic owners have experienced this failure. I was incredibly lucky that this occurred within a block of my house. The previous night I was driving home on the LA freeways. Had this failure occurred at night on the freeway it could have been life threatening as there is very little time to get to safety and the hazard lights and all electronics become useless. The dealer said that they will be replacing the ICCU system with a better one. If that is the case then why wasn’t this car recalled and the ICCU replaced?

While attempting to operate my 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5, the vehicle abruptly displayed a 'Check Electric Vehicle System' warning accompanied by a critical red master service light on the dashboard. A diagnostic scan via the factory Bluelink app revealed a hard fault code: DTC P1A9096 (ICCU / DC-DC Converter malfunction). This failure occurred under 7,000 miles, following a previous total 12-volt battery system failure a month prior. Driving the vehicle with this specific code puts the driver at immediate risk of 'Turtle Mode' or a sudden, total loss of motive power while in motion. Living in a mountainous region where the primary thoroughfare (Highway 17) lacks shoulders, an unexpected power failure presents an extreme, unreasonable highway safety risk to myself and surrounding traffic. The vehicle had to be flatbed-towed to a dealership for an entirely new ICCU assembly

Our *2025* Hyundai Ioniq 5 experienced a complete failure of the ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit). The car displayed numerous warnings including "Check brake system", "Check 12V battery. Stop safely and engage parking brake", and "Check parking distance warning system". The car stopped working completely and would not turn on again. A towing company had to be called as the car was completely inoperable.

The ICCU failed just before the vehicle had 20k miles on it. It failed on a warm afternoon with about 77% SOC after not being charged for more than 24 hours. Immediately after starting the car with the push button ignition, I heard an audible "pop" come from the back of the passenger cabin followed up by a "Check Vehicle Electrical System" message on the dashboard. There was no warning prior to this issue and the vehicle had been driven approximately 5 miles around town about an hour earlier. I can confirm the failure was the ICCU because the 12V batter stopped receiving charge thereafter confirmed by me watching the battery voltage drop for about 10 minutes. The vehicle has not been assessed by a dealership yet as of this writing.

1. The repair work was done at San Leandro Hyundai service department. I do not have the parts that were worked on. 2. Fortunately, both incidents happened when the car was parked at home. The unpredictable nature of the issue though, raises safety concerns as it's unknown when the car is going to die. 3. For the first incident, yes, there were brief notifications on the dashboard about the battery discharging. SUMMARY OF INCIDENTS Incident #1 — February 2026 — ICCU failure, vehicle towed to dealer — DTC P1A9096 fault code identified — 22 days out of service — ICCU assembly and high voltage fuse (H110) replaced — 12V battery tested healthy but not replaced, despite Service Advisor Alexa's explicit assurance that replacement was standard protocol for this repair type — Rental reimbursement of $209.96 still outstanding — Maintenance warning appeared approximately one month post-repair; dismissed by resetting service clock with no diagnosis Incident #2 — Current (April 2026) — 12V battery drained to 0%, vehicle completely unresponsive, towed to dealer — Hyundai app showed 47% battery and 'all systems normal' at point of complete failure — D00 fault code identified on 12V battery; sensors reactivated and battery recharged — Traction battery range reduced approximately 50% (~150 miles vs. expected ~344 miles); attributed to battery learning reset, root cause unknown — 4 panic notifications received from Hyundai app on April 30, 2026 while vehicle is in dealer's possession — cause unknown

On 4/21/26, at about 8,653 miles, I suddenly got a red battery icon and “Stop vehicle and check power supply” while driving. I pulled over, limped it home, and it wouldn’t reliably go into READY. Bluelink showed DTC P1A9096 (Electric Vehicle / “Air Flap”), so I had it flat‑bedded to Happy Hyundai of Libertyville. They confirmed ICCU/12‑V system failure. On 4/29/26 they completed the fix under recall/warranty. Key detail: they installed the latest ICCU revision, part# 36401‑1XAD6. They also replaced the ICCU high‑voltage fuse and the 12‑V battery (Interstate H5).

The contact leased a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5. The contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, the battery warning light, reduced power warning light, and an unknown warning light depicting a vehicle with an exclamation mark illuminated. Visit 1 (01/12/26, ~100 mi, RO HYCS79193): Factory OEM battery confirmed failed by GDS. Replaced under warranty. Visit 2 (01/30/26, ~300 mi): Second OEM battery confirmed failed by GDS. Replaced. Visit 3 (03/31/26, ~800 mi): Aftermarket AGM tested healthy but required jump-starts. GDS recorded 12V SOC dropping from 99% to 21% then recovering to 79% — consistent with intermittent LDC output interruption, not parasitic drain. Hyundai Techline contacted. No repair performed. Visit 4 (04/08/26, ~800 mi): AGM measured 5.5V, required jump-start. Maryland Lemon Law notice submitted to Hyundai Motor America. The Ioniq 5 has no alternator — the 12V system depends entirely on the ICCU’s DC-DC converter. Hyundai has acknowledged this ICCU defect under NHTSA Recalls 24V-204 and 24V-868, covering 2022–2024 Ioniq 5 models. The 2025 model uses the same E-GMP platform and ICCU architecture but is excluded from both recalls. My symptoms — repeated battery failure with no DTCs, confirmed SOC anomaly on GDS, failure across two battery chemistries — match the subclinical LDC failure mode documented in those recalls. A Hyundai North America case is open and engineering has been engaged. No repair has resolved the defect. I request NHTSA investigate whether the 2025 Ioniq 5 is affected by this defect and consider expanding Recall 24V-868 to the 2025 model year. Please add this complaint to Investigation PE23-011. I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety issue with my vehicle, a Hyundai Ioniq 5, which I purchased new and which currently has only 4,795 miles. The vehicle remains fully covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. Yesterday, March 19th 2026, while driving on a heavily congested street, the vehicle suddenly displayed a warning message stating: “Stop Vehicle and Check Power Supply.” Immediately after, the car began to significantly lose power and slow down in active traffic. This created a dangerous situation, as I was forced to pull over abruptly in a crowded roadway, putting my safety and the safety of others at risk. Due to the severity of the issue, I contacted Hyundai roadside assistance, and the vehicle was towed to Safford Hyundai for inspection and repair. I was informed by the dealership that repairs could take up to four months, and I was not provided with a loaner vehicle or alternative transportation. As a result: I am currently without a vehicle for daily transportation, including commuting to work I have experienced significant stress and anxiety due to the sudden and dangerous nature of the incident I am left without a reasonable remedy despite the vehicle being new and under full warranty This situation raises serious concerns regarding vehicle safety, reliability, and Hyundai’s failure to provide adequate support or transportation during an extended repair period. Given that this is a new vehicle with a critical failure that compromises safety, I am requesting: Immediate assistance with a loaner or rental vehicle at no cost A clear timeline and communication regarding repairs Consideration of further remedies if the vehicle cannot be repaired within a reasonable timeframe, in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws I believe this issue represents a significant defect that substantially impairs the use, value, and safety of the vehicle.

March 19, 2026, the car left my 18 y.o. daughter stranded at 10:00pm in a store parking lot. The car was fine when she went into the store. When she went back to the car, it was completely dead. No power at all. I had to pick her up to bring her home and left the car overnight. Called AAA the next morning. The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), part number 36400-1XAD5, failed on my 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL RWD at 2138 miles. The ICCU is responsible for charging the 12V auxiliary battery from the high voltage traction battery. DTC P1A9096 was recorded on 03/02/2026. When the ICCU fails, the 12V battery drains because it has no charging source. The vehicle becomes undrivable as all vehicle systems depend on the 12V battery. The vehicle had to be towed on a flatbed truck to Hyundai dealer for diagnosis and repair. The failure was confirmed by the dealer using their diagnostic tools. This is the same ICCU failure mode covered by Hyundai Recalls 257 and 272 for 2022-2024 Ioniq 5 vehicles, however the 2025 Ioniq 5 is not currently included in those recalls despite using the same ICCU architecture. The failure at only 2138 miles on a 2025 model indicates the underlying defect was not resolved with the model year refresh. If this failure had occurred while driving at highway speed rather than while the vehicle was stationary, the progressive loss of motive power could have created a serious safety hazard. NHTSA should consider expanding the existing ICCU recall to include 2025 Ioniq 5 vehicles.

I had washed my vehicle in my driveway. As I was drying it off, I heard a loud pop sound. When I went to put the car back in the garage, there was a warning displayed on the dash advising to check the vehicle electrical system. I immediately opened the MyHyundai app and it had a warning of an issue with the elecrtrical system and advised to schedule service. I had had no issues with the vehicle or its operation prior to this suddenly happening today. I fear that this is an ICCU issue as I have seen numerous complaints on forums and Reddit of over 90K 2025 Ioniq 5 vehicles this year alone having this issue. That’s an awful lot of vehicles to have the same issue.

While driving, heard a POP sound, followed but multiple warnings to stop vehicle and check the electrical system. The car went into turtle mode. luckily I was close to home, but any other situation could have been dangerous. This is a commonly known issue with these Ioniq 5 vehicles. The ICCU fails and can no longer charge the 12v battery, causing loss of electrical systems and possibly even the ability to have hazards on if you are stuck in traffic.

At approximately 6:20pm, I remotely activated climate control using the MyHyundai app. When I entered the vehicle around 6:25pm and attempted to start it, the dashboard immediately displayed “Stop vehicle and check power supply” and “Check electrical vehicle system.” The MyHyundai app reported diagnostic code PIA9096, which is widely reported by other owners as an ICCU failure. The vehicle became completely inoperable, could not be shifted into neutral, and could not be jump-started. I attempted boosting the 12V battery and AAA also attempted, with no success. Both AAA and Hyundai Roadside Assistance refused to tow the vehicle because it could not be placed in neutral, leaving me stranded in freezing conditions and forced to abandon the vehicle overnight in a public lot. The following morning, I installed a brand new 12V battery, which allowed the vehicle to power on, but the same electrical errors remained. The vehicle was then towed to a Hyundai dealer. After several days, the dealer confirmed diagnostic codes PIA961C, PIA9096, and P056216 and diagnosed failure of the ICCU and high-voltage fuse. The dealer ordered ICCU assembly 36400-1XAD5 and high voltage fuse 375F2-GI040. The dealer cannot provide any ETA for parts and stated the vehicle will be inoperable until repaired. I am informed by many other owners that multi-week or multi-month delays are common for this same failure nationwide. This failure resulted in a sudden, total loss of vehicle function, left me stranded in unsafe conditions, and made the vehicle impossible to move or tow normally. This appears to be a known, systemic defect affecting Hyundai EVs across multiple model years. Vehicle is currently at Hyundai dealer and available for inspection.

The car had just been disconnected from a hardwired Chargepoint Home Flex 11.5 kw 48A Level 2 home charger with a NACS connecter (so no adapters used), though the charging had mainly ended at approximately 5:24 am that same morning (after reaching the preset charging limit of 80% of battery capacity, I believe). That charging session provided 45.572 kWh of energy over approximately 4.5 hours and then the vehicle sat, still plugged in, for approximately 12 more hours until disconnected to drive it. After driving approximately 1-2 minutes on residential streets, I heard a muffled 'pop' sound behind the front seats, and the vehicle dashboard suddenly showed 'check electrical vehicle system' and 'stop vehicle and check power supply'. The vehicle suddenly had limited capabilities, including speed, and at that point gave a limited, unspecified, amount of time to get off of the road to safety. The vehicle is currently with a Hyundai dealer (Hyundai of 110 in Farmingdale, NY) who has since confirmed it was an ICCU failure. They are waiting on a new ICCU, which is on back order. The vehicle had been leased, new, in June of 2025 and after that, was driven approximately 9,506, miles (mostly highway) and never exhibited any sounds, warning lights, control issues, or any other indications that there was any problem or that there would be any sudden problem with the vehicle.

I started driving and pulled out of a parking lot onto a busy road. The ICCU had failed unknownst to me and as I was underway the car started losing power and the dashboard lit up with warnings about the electrical system. The ICCU failed on my 2025 Ioniq 5 within 3 months of ownership and only 811 miles on it. The weather that morning was slightly chilly but not cold. I turned on the car and put it into reverse and after backing up only a couple feet, I heard a pop and the "Check Vehicle Electrical System" message and warning light came on. I had not DC fast charged the car since owning it and had only charged it on level 2 chargers at about 9.6kw to 12kw. The car was not charging the night before the issue occurred and had not been on the charger for several days previously as the battery level was around 70%. There were no issues or symptoms before prior to the failure. The car was towed to the dealership and the ICCU and high voltage were replaced under warranty. This is a major issue with the car and it keeps on happening to eGMP platform cars. The same issue happened with my 2023 Ioniq 5. Hyundai is not providing any information to consumers if they have actually identified the cause of the frequent failures or have manufactured a new part that corrects the manufacturing defect. Please direct Hyundai to issue a statement if they have found a fix or there needs to be a major recall until they identify and correct the underlying problem with the ICCU.

This is ridiculous- it should be a recall and fixed proactively rather than a crash potential hazard for the driver.

But then I learned the power could also go at any point and leave me stranded. The local Hyundai dealer (Burns Hyundai) cannot even look at my car for a month. After a failed start attempt, the vehicle experienced a brownout followed by a complete loss of 12V power for approximately 5 minutes while the battery was replaced. After installing a known-good replacement battery, the vehicle powered up and the instrument cluster displayed “The vehicle is On, Ready” without pressing the start button or providing any operator input. Due to safety concerns, I did not attempt to move the vehicle. Concern: After a complete loss of control power, the vehicle appears capable of entering or reporting a Ready state without explicit operator action. A vehicle should not present or enter a drive-ready state following a power interruption without a new, deliberate user command. This behavior is unpredictable and could present a safety risk if the system were to enable propulsion or mislead the operator about the vehicle’s state. At minimum, it indicates improper state recovery after a power failure.

Car has only 3307 miles and incurred a DTC P1A9096. This meant the vehicle only had power from the 12 volt battery, not traction battery. Luckily, the event happened 3 miles from home and we were able to just make it. Next day upon calling for flatbed tow service, the car generated an additional DTC P05616. 12 volt battery was exhausted and nothing functioned on the car. Had to then call for a different tow truck with dollies. The failure of the ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) was a cause for recall on earlier year's models. This is a major safety issue as failure of the ICCU leaves you stranded with an inoperable vehicle where you cannot even lock the doors. Currently, the vehicle is at the dealer (Lithia Hyundai of Anchorage) for repair.

A sudden loss of propulsion in a battery electric vehicle poses significant safety risk to the driver and others on the road. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER CONFIRMATION: The failure was confirmed and inspected by the selling Hyundai dealership. Hyundai Motor America (the manufacturer) reviewed the case and issued a formal written determination in February 2026 concluding the defect was unrepairable, accepting a Lemon Law repurchase under Washington State RCW 19.118. This constitutes manufacturer confirmation that the ICCU failure is a non-repairable defect. WARNING SYMPTOMS: Multiple warning lamps and fault messages appeared on the vehicle’s instrument cluster and infotainment display prior to the vehicle becoming fully undriveable. These warnings preceded the total loss of propulsion. ADDITIONAL NOTE: Despite issuing a written Lemon Law repurchase acceptance in February 2026, Hyundai Motor America has failed to execute the repurchase for over 23 days past document submission, missing their own stated resolution deadline. This complaint is filed to create a federal record of both the ICCU safety defect and HMA’s failure to honor an accepted Lemon Law repurchase in a timely manner.

The Integrating Charging Control Unit (ICCU) failed while attempting to accelerate onto an Interstate Highway. The car then went into 'Limp' mode which only allowed a sped of 20 mph. Luckily I was able to get to the next exit without getting hit by car already on the highway going 60-70 mph. The car showed both a 'battery warning' and a 'car over heating' symbol (the car has no engine, so assume it was the battery that over heated). The ICCU was recalled by Hyundai in the 2022-2024 Ioniq5 models, but was not recalled in the 2025 model (which I own). My suggestion is that the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq5 should be added to the the same recall as the 2022-2024 models since it is exhibiting the same problem.

The driver attention warning feature is defective and often requires you to take your eyes off the road and stare at the DAW sensor in order to eliminate the car's constant "attention" warnings. Even while looking straight ahead while driving, the DAW is often erroneous and will disengage safety features (e.g., lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, etc.) because the DAW erroneously thinks that the driver is not paying attention. As another example, if you are driving uphill/downhill or on a curved road and are looking at the road ahead of you at a slight angle, the DAW will erroneously report that the driver isn't paying attention. The system will then disable the cruise control and lane keeping assist, creating a hazardous situation. Alternatively, the driver can look DOWN (not looking at the road) at the DAW sensor and stare at it until the car reacts. This takes your eyes off of the road and creates hazardous situations. As someone who wears prescription glasses, the problem is even worse. I cannot set a comfortable seat/steering wheel configuration where the DAW can "see" through my prescription glasses. If I want to drive in my normal position, I either need to take my glasses off or turn off the safety features (e.g. lane keeping assist and adaptive cruise control) in order to drive. Hyundai is well aware of this problem and it exists across much of the Hyundai and Kia platforms. Dealerships say that the car is working as intended. In reality, the defective DAW system creates more risk and contributes to a significantly less safe ride (as I'm constantly taking my eyes off the road to stare at the darn sensor).

The vehicle’s driver monitoring / Forward Attention Warning system repeatedly gives false inattentive-driver warnings during normal highway driving, even when I am actively watching the road and driving normally. The system does not appear to function reliably with ordinary sunglasses and common driving conditions. The issue happens frequently when wearing sunglasses. The system incorrectly determines that I am not paying attention, despite looking directly ahead at the roadway. When this happens, Highway Driving Assist and lane-centering functions may disengage or become unavailable. This occurs in normal daytime driving conditions and appears overly sensitive to environmental factors, including reflections, lighting conditions, and driver seating position. I typically receive multiple false warnings during a single drive. This is a significant safety concern because: Driver assistance features can unexpectedly disengage during highway driving. The repeated false warnings are extremely distracting and can result in drivers ignoring or becoming desensitized to alerts. There are many similar owner reports online describing the same issue with Hyundai’s driver-monitoring system. Hyundai has issued a technical bulletin describing the problem but has made no indication that it intends to fix this significant flaw. My vehicle's software is fully up-to-date.

We were in a disabled car on a 4 lane highway with traffic: On February 10, 2026, as we drove out of our home we heard a loud pop. As we got out onto a large 4 lane road near our house, the notice “Check Electrical System” came on and the car’s power was drastically reduced. We made a U turn and drove (20 mph) back to our driveway. We were fortunate that this was mid-day and the road was relatively clear. Normally this is an extremely busy road with traffic moving at 40-50 mph and we would have had great difficulty even pulling out to the side -- as there is only marginal side space on this road. Hyundai has confirmed to us that the ICCU and a related fuse failed. They also think the hybrid battery is also involved and they are testing to confirm that. We had no warning at all -- except for the electrical warning that came on as the car's power was reduced. The car had charged normally and had had no warning signals/signs at all.

While using Highway Driving Assist/Lane Following Assist on Interstate highways, lane markings frequently disappear on overpasses and in construction areas. When this occurs, lane-centering assistance silently disengages. The only indication is a small dashboard icon changing color. There is no audible warning, steering wheel vibration, or other prominent alert. The vehicle may begin drifting before the driver realizes steering assistance has been lost. Observed repeatedly on Massachusetts highways, including I-495 and I-290. This creates an unexpected and serious safety issue, potentially resulting in an accident. I had this happen during a recent trip, and multiple times the car wandered towards an adjacent lane. It caused me to lose confidence in the system, and to maintain constant vigilance, gripping the wheel tightly at all times. Had I not done so, I’m sure I would have had an incident. Who watches the dashboard all the time? The driver's eyes are supposed to be on the road ahead, especially when approaching an overpass. Had they incorporated an audible or tactile alert, this would have greatly increased the driver’s awareness and potentially avoid a crash. Since the system obviously knows when it has disengaged, it would be a simple matter to implement this. My preference would be steering wheel vibration.

The Driver Attention Warning system fails every time I put the car in Cruise Control. I have adjusted my seat and the steering column but no relief. I have removed my hat and sunglasses with no relief. I have my hands at 8 and 4. The DAW IR tracking causes a visual warning in the dashboard and then a horrific cacophony if I try to ignore the warning. Two weeks ago an OTA was downloaded which purported to improve the sensitivity of head movement. It is not improved, if anything it is quicker to warn. In settings I turned off the Lane Following Assist and Driver Warning Assist each time I start the car. This does nothing to impact the failure of the DAW. The lack of Cruise Control on long drives causes fatigue and does not help with safety. The constant harassment of the DAW warning does not lend to safer driver. This whole system is intrusive and not making driving safer.

This happens at least once a week, and it has never happened when there was another car around, so I wasn't about to get into a collision. I have always been able to shove it back into the lane I want to be in, but this also seems incredibly unsafe. I was driving my vehicle on a freeway with 3 passengers when i heard a muffled pop or thud from behind me. A rear passenger confirmed that it came from beneath the rear seat towards the left side of the car. The vehicle speed immediately dropped to less than 40 mph and a warning message appeared on the dash "Check electric vehicle system". I later noticed a red battery icon appear on the left of the dash. I pulled over after leaving the freeway and attempted to resolve the issue by turning off the car, then restarting it. The notice and red battery icon still appeared. I feel that this sudden reduction in speed is a safety issue because I could have been driving at a higher speed (65-70 vs 45-50). Following cars may not have been able to stop in time, or I cuold have been forced to attempt to get off the road by entering lanes with vehicles travelling at a much faster speed. I was about 5 miles away from home on the start of a 400 mile trip so decided to turn around. Back at home I discovered that a new DTC code had been thrown during or after this event - P1A9096. I transferred to another person's cart to complete the trip, and on return arranged for the car to be transported to a manufacturer recommended dealership to check the issue. The Dealership service department conducted diagnostic tests and determined that the issue was caused by an ICCU failure. The have placed an order for a replacement ICCU unit and fuse. Prior to this event there had been no dash light warnings or trouble codes thrown.

My Ioniq5 has experienced a recurring water leak that has repeatedly exposed the left rear seat belt and seat belt retractor to large amounts of water. I noticed recently that after it had rained the left back seat belt was soaked and dripping water when pulled out. After fully pulling out the belt as far as it would go it was clear that the water had fully soaked the belt and retractor. It is unclear when this started or how long this has been occurring, as there was no warning or other indication that there was a leak until the belt happened to be put on soon after it had rained. I am uncertain if this poses an actual risk to the function of the seat belt or seat belt retractor. However, even though it is unknown if the water intrusion limits the seat belt's function, there is a perceived risk that this could corrode or degrade the function of the internal components due to the repeated water exposure. The car was taken to the dealership twice. The first time they claimed they were unable to repeat the issue. However, days later it rained again and the belt and retractor were again soaked. After the second return to the dealership they were able to confirm a leak in the glass roof of the vehicle that was allowing the intrusion to the seat belt and retractor. The car is still currently at the dealer awaiting repair for the water leak with an unknown timeline

As I was driving on a very busy city street I heard a loud pop and then got a warning to check electrical systems. Luckily I was able to get the car to a Walmart parking lot and arrange for the car to be towed to a dealer 90 miles away. The dealer contacted me and informed me the ICCU unit and high voltage fuse would have to be replaced and no time frame for parts availability to be determined. This is apparently a recurring problem with the ICCU component of Hyundai electric vehicles that could potentially leave a driver stranded in the middle of nowhere in the middle of winter.

I was at the grocery store and when I returned to my car and started it, I had an error message on the dashboard regarding the vehicle battery. When I put it into reverse, I heard a loud pop and received another error message. The car would only drive at 25 mph after that. I tried to drive home but the car died after a few miles and I was stranded at the side of the road. It was towed to a dealership and I have been told that it is an ICCU failure. At this point, I have been waiting 3 weeks for it to be fixed.
