Las siguientes son quejas reportadas por consumidores y presentadas ante NHTSA. Son alegaciones no verificadas y no son prueba de que exista algún defecto.
This is the second time the horn has stopped working. The first time was a year or two ago (records available on request), and both of the two horn units failed. The manufacturer Hyundai replaced them both and told me the issue they were having was the stamped housing of the horn has a seam that folds up and collects water, may freeze, and causes the unit to fail. Clearly they installed two replacement units of the same style because both units just failed again. The way I found out was someone almost changed lanes into me, I tried to honk to alert them to not collide with me, and the horn didn't work. Thankfully I was able to stop fast enough to avoid the collision. I will be taking it to Hyundai for replacement again within the next few days. This needs to become a recall because clearly Hyundai hasn't accepted yet that they need to correct their design of this safety feature.

Vehicle screen will shut off while driving and come back on randomly. This is not the first time I have reported it. I have reported it to my dealership, they looked at it and checked the vehicle. It happens so randomly but it's been over 2 years now that this has been happening. Of course when vehicle is getting inspected, it does not happen. I have asked them to update my software on my vehicle, they stated it does not need it but I bought this vehicle on Sept 2023.

My horn continues to short out. It has happened five or more times in two years. (I purchased this car in 2023 and the day I purchased it, I was driving home and found out that the horn had lost sound, I called the dealership and they told me to bring it up the next day. When I brought it up the next day it started working again and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I then went back home and by that next week my horn was completely not working so I had to bring it back up to my dealership.) My horn not working puts me and others in risk for many of reasons. For starters, it takes away my primary warning and communication tool on the road. I have no way to warn others if they are drifting into my lane, backing into me or any other accident that can happen while driving. I have taken my car to the dealership to get it fixed multiple times. This has been a problem since the day I bought my car. Every time my horn is about to fully short out, it slowly loses its sound and will come and go for multiple days slowly losing sound. I don't have my recent documentation from taking it to the dealership to get fixed, but I have one or two forms from the beginning.

Yesterday my horn ceased working again and someone almost side swiped me. This is the 3rd time on my 2023 Elantra. I have 2 Hyundai Elantras that Have had to send to the dealership to replace the horns multiple times. I had the same issue with my Venue, which appears to have had some type of NHTSA action, and feel that the Elantras should be included on said action as they utilize the same horn components. Horn stopped working at at around 30,000 miles. After taking it to the dealership to get fixed it stopped working at 70,000 miles again.

I bought my car April 2023 brand new. I noticed today the horn was not working. I have less that 30k miles on my car. Hyundai is telling me the horn is not included in the warranty. Someone cut me off and I tried to honk my horn to tell them they were close and it didn't work.
NHTSA #11637515
Both high and low horns failed and the vehicle has 61,000 miles. Hyundai said this is a “known issue” to the point that they keep these parts in stock and replace them regularly. This is a safety concern, and required for safety inspection.
NHTSA #11637301
Horn has stopped working. A driver was about to change lanes into my vehicle on the highway, and I went to honk my horn to alert them, but it would not work. It is unclear if the issue is with the sensor in the steering wheel, or with the wiring or horn itself. I have continued to test the horn over the next few days and confirmed that the issue is persistent. The lack of a horn meant I was nearly able to avoid an accident by swerving away from the other vehicle. If there had not been a gap in traffic, I wouldn't have been so lucky. The vehicle is available for inspection. I have an appointment with the dealer on Friday 1/3/25 to have this addressed, likely under warranty. No one else has inspected the vehicle at this time, and there are no warning notifications, etc.

Horn just stopped working! Fuses are intact. I see this is a consistent complaint for this model. Cannot pass safety inspection and I’ve only had the car for a year
NHTSA #11631085
The horn on my car has completely stopped working. We have checked the fuses, but that is not the issue. A "Google" search reveals that this is a common, and known, issue and happens to the 2023 trim models; not just the Elantra, but others as well.

There was a recent over the air software update. Since the update, the speed limit shown on the dashboard, does not match the posted speed limit. This causes the cruise control to change from 70mph, to 55mph. This happened a few times, and always at the same place on the PA Turnpike. Yesterday it did it and there was a tractor trailer behind me. When my car started to decelerate, the driver of the truck laid on the horn because he had to react quickly. I am lucky that he did not hit the rear of my car. This is a safety issue! Also, why does Hyundai feel the need to control drivers speed, especially when there is no government mandate to do so.

Dealership says there is no recall tied to this vehicle. But hyundai recall website, says yes my vin/vehicle has an incomplete recall.
NHTSA #11541977
Your board ordered Hyundai to do a recall on 50,000 2023 vehicles due to a chance of oil pump fire. In the news brief it was mentioned that Hyundai wouldn’t start sending out recall letters till the end of September so therefore no info exists for my VIN number. My efforts through Hyundai to find out if my vehicle has been affected have been fruitless although they did open a case number. Your warning suggested not parking vehicles near residences. Impossible to follow where I live. I reside in a part of California regarded as extreme fire risk and this recall has made me quite nervous. I asked Hyundai to provide me with a rental car until they were ready for repair and replacement and this too was fruitless. Does your board have have any suggestions or can you offer assistance? If you need the case number I can provide that. I cannot quite understand why they can’t provide the affected VIN numbers if they know the total number of vehicles affected. Sunroof exploded while driving
Reportado presuntamente: 1 lesión (según lo reportado a NHTSA). NHTSA #11500635
On 11/18/ 25 I was driving in highway traffic at 60MPH and car suddenly slowed down to 30MPH. My car would not accelerate no matter how hard I tried. With luck and prayer I moved over two lanes to shoulder...shut off the car for about 10 sec...restarted...and car ran normal again. I When deceleration occurred I saw a notice-symbol light up on the infotainment panel in a black space directly parallel to the total mileage odometer. On 11/21/25 I went to dealer, who checked car out and did not find any problem. I then went online and saw ISLA...Intelligent Speed Limit Assistance...a choice I did not have on my infotainment system. If I had it, I wanted to turn mine OFF. We're scared it could happen again.

I was driving in completely clear weather on [XXX] . No cars were within at least 100 ft in front of my vehicle. Suddenly the emergency braking system alarm flared and the brake engaged. This could have caused someone tor rear end my car but luckily no one was behind me. The brake also fairly quickly disengaged. I took it to Pearson Hyundai where I had bought the car ([XXX]). They had the car for a couple of days and said they found nothing. They could not duplicate the incident. I would not have wanted to ever drive the car again as is, but the technician pointed out I could leave on the warning but eliminate the braking in settings. I am reporting this because if this happened with a child in the back seat on a road like the 95 it could do incredible harm INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Car was breaking hard because of Active Assist despite that no car was in front. It was breaking consistently until I finally was able to disable the Active Assist. Luckily, there was traffic and driving at less than 20mph but this also happened some time last year at the same area where there was no traffic and was going at a minimum speed of 45mph and to have the Active Assist break hard put me at great risk of getting rear ended. I have footage from the dash cam which I unfortunately cannot attach as it's more than the 10MB limit.

When passing under a bridge or traveling underneath train tracks, the forward collision warning would activate causing the car to brake when no other vehicle is in front
NHTSA #11604641
car applies emergency brakes when another vehicle passes close by at higher speed from behind in adjacent lane when the blind spot collision feature in my car is set to "Active Assist". As per the owner’s manual page number 7-46 to 7-52, the collision assist is designed to operate when turn signal is turned on in the direction of detected vehicle. Also, it is mentioned that the audible warning will sound. In actual scenario car is applying breaks even when turn signal is off, driving straight, no lane change. Also, there is no audible warning sound when car applies automatic brake. Owner’s manuals write up is not matching with the issue I observed, and this is very serious safety issue.

Driving on a highway at 80mph, adaptive cruise control was engaged. It was a clear, sunny day, around 55 degrees F outside. We were 3.5 hours into a 4 hour drive. There were no cars in front of the vehicle. There were other cars in the lanes immediately to both the left and right of us, as well as a car behind us. The car gave a warning for Automatic Emergency Braking, although there was nothing to avoid. No vehicles were merging into us, no one was going to rear end us, and nothing was in front of us in or near our lane. The car then started braking automatically and attempting to swerve/turn automatically. I had to fight the automatic system to stay in our lane and not crash into the vehicles immediately to the left and right. This was extremely dangerous at highway speeds.
NHTSA #11576726
On December 24 2023, the vehicle's forward collision warning failed. My son has a learner's permit. He was driving the car under my supervision. He pulled into a parking lot and hit a light post. We did not receive a warning, nor did the automobile automatically apply the brakes to avert the collision. There were no injuries. There was no property damage, except for our vehicle. I did not notify the police. In retrospect, we never hear alarms or warning when pulling into our narrow garage. Our other vehicles with the same safety feature do offer an alert in that context. I think the forward collision warning system is defective on this Hyundai Elantra. I have filed an insurance claim and notified the dealership by email. Next steps are pending after we hear back from our auto insurance claims adjuster.
NHTSA #11561751
Have experienced at least half a dozen instances of unprompted initiation of the automatic emergency braking system within having the car for about 3 months. Would say that this system is malfunctioning. Automatic emergency braking occurred for seemingly no reason in all instances while travelling on the highway at approximately 70 miles per hour. There were no vehicles in front of the car and no vehicles switching lanes in front of the car. However, there were vehicles behind the car and in other lanes adjacent to the car but behind the car. The unprompted braking is dangerous for the cars behind and could cause a rear end collision where the car behind the drivers car would not register such excessive braking due to the lack of action prompting the automatic emergency braking. Additionally, this can cause driver loss of control due to the extreme response. Problem has not been able to be confirmed by dealer or independent service center. No messages prior just the indicator on the dash identifying the engagement of the automatic emergency braking.

The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking brake light illuminated, and the vehicle experienced phantom braking, causing the tires to skid and the speed to be abruptly reduced. Moments later, the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking light turned off and the vehicle operated normally. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 750.
NHTSA #11552097
There are have been three significant safety issues with the car. 1. The forward collision alert system goes off without warning and with zero debris or cars in front of me. This has happened three times, putting my safety and those around me at risk. 2. The car has suddenly had what feels like the rear brakes locking up without warning midway through a turn. The car wheels were still spinning but the car stopped moving. This put me directly in harm's way. 3. While my foot was OFF the accelerator while I was approaching a stoplight, the car suddenly accelerated and lunged forward, nearly causing me to hit the car in front of me. I have taken the car in three times and called the dealership about this one more time and have had no resolution; they claim to be unable to replicate the issue. There were no warning messages prior to the failures.

3 lanes going down to 2 (leftmost closed). I move over to far right lane out of middle lane. No cars ahead of me in right lane. some cars in left lane. In lane for about 100 yards when.... Emergency collision warning appears and warning is made with sound and car pumps to brakes. Nobody was in my lane within 40 yards. Nobody moving into my lane. I have had it slow down and give collision warning when a car moves to right turn lane from right lane and I pass that car. But this time the alert went off and brakes were automatically strongly applied as if I was about to plow into another car without any obvious threat. Dealer checked alerts and no obvious system failures or codes appeared. Turned off automatic braking for now (and as a safety concern, it resets to the default safety braking each time In restart the car). 8:41 AM 7/18/2023

1. Emergency Braking System - came on screen in car - and car took control and began to break 2. I was terrified on two separate occasions because I had no control over my car.... The first situation was when I was on the highway in the slow lane driving approximately 65-70 mph with no one in front of me - suddenly as the car behind me exited off the highway and merged into the off-ramp - my car suddenly began to brake on its own - for absolutely no reason - and then a few seconds later I had control of my car again. The second situation was when I was on a city street in the fast lane (a 4 lane road (2 lanes on each side of the street with a middle verge for people to turn left). I was going approximately 45 mph with no one in front me but there was a car to the right of me (in the slow lane). As I came up to a truck that was stopped in the middle verge lane (waiting to turn left) - my car once again suddenly began to brake - for absolutely no reason - and then a few seconds later I had control of my car again. 3. I took it to the dealership - they informed me there is nothing wrong with my car because they could not duplicate the problem. 4. I do not believe it has been inspected by the manufacturer - I told the dealership they can keep my car for as long as they need to and find out what is going on because the car is dangerous since it is taking on a life of its own. I am not pleased after reading through everything on the internet that apparently this is not an uncommon complaint, yet, nowhere have I seen any resolution to this complaint, so I am now furious that the dealership seems to think it is ok to tell me that there is nothing wrong with my car. 5. No there was no warning lamps prior to the car taking a life of its own

Low pressure oil light did not come on until the oil drain plug had completely fallen out. Once the light came on, the vehicle was slowed and came to a stop on the side of the highway within 2 minutes. The car completely shut off as if the battery were dead. It had to be jumped in order to put the car into neutral for the tow truck. The safety issue is that the hwy we were traveling on is 70mph. At no time, did we receive a warning until it was almost too late. The car is currently at an auto repair shop as the engine is most likely catastrophic and due to the car having no power, they want to replace not only the engine but also the 12 volt battery and it's module. The low pressure oil warning should have come on way before the plug completely fell out and the battery should not be dead. The mechanics can't even fathom why an engine would fail quickly and drain the battery as well.

The horn has failed four times on my vehicle, and I have owned and maintained it since November 2022. While Hyundai has replaced it under warranty at no charge, I foresee this being a continuing issue.

This vehicle I am driving has going on 24,000 miles only and over the course of the 23,000 miles it started making me do a 12V reset which very scary when you in traffic, have to pull to the side of the road, the car blinks "Check Hybrid System" with the little what looks like a tire pressure monitor system but it is a exclamation point and says "HEV" inside. My vehicle will die while pulling off to the side of the road, I have to park it, and 12V reset it, and start the car up again, in order to get to where I was going. I can not sit in one place. In fact this battery reset happened two times last night on June 18th at a drive thru while waiting for dinner and once while waiting on a pharmacy drive thru line about two weeks ago. All this is idling. I never had a lockout issue with my car where I had to get in with my key and 12V reset it. It's only when the car is on and idling. I'm well aware of Hyundai hybrids having 2 batteries, so it is definitely not the battery controlling my acc, it's controlling my main controls. I have done so much research on my vehicle and just know this will be such a hassle to get replaced although I paid very good money for my vehicle, and the batteries are under warranty. I will have to roll the dead battery into Hyundai's lot so they do something, but even then they think 12V resetting will be a normal thing, not when I'm travelling down the freeway during rush hour. A 12V reset should be there for utmost emergencies, not to be used on a daily basis multiple times a day. Hyundai needs to take ownership and do something about it. Is it an alternator to the battery or is it their lithium ion batteries they use, is it a wire that sucks, they need to do something and get all the hybrids fix because it's not just Elantras, many Tucsons, sonatas, etc. Have the same issue all across the years I have seen to 2020. Very faulty.

The HORN has been replaced on 4 separate occasions through Hyundai under warranty and it can not be fixed. This seems to be a wide spread issues involving the 2023 and 2024 Hyundai Elantra models and there are multiple TSB's at the dealerships. Hyundai has not done a recall or come up with a fix and it renders the horn useless and can cause a major safety problem or accident.
NHTSA #11639597
For the second time in two years, my horn suddenly stopped working. About 6 months after purchasing the car, the horn began to sound high pitched. Then about three weeks later the horn stopped working, requiring the replacement of the horn. A month later, the horn sounded high pitched again. Hyundai advised me the horn is a "two-horn system" in which a high pitch and low pitch horn produce the horn noise. The low pitch keeps failing. About 4 months after the horn was only sounding a high pitched sound, the horn stopped when I hit the horn to avoid an oncoming driver.
NHTSA #11632327
Hi horn and low horn stopped working after 1 1/2 years of driving and only 7000 miles. This is a safety recall because it will fail West Virginia state inspection without the horn working. Also, it puts myself at risk while driving because I can't alert oncoming traffic if they are heading towards me. This could cause an accident. Hyundai Service Center will be inspecting the issue on 05/07/24.

Vehicles electronic key fobs and Bluelink become deactivated every 12 hours after vehicle is parked. Had vehicle since June 2023 and this has happened 163 times. Dealerships cannot recreate the issue and vehicle battery tests reflect no issues. To start the vehicle, car has to be manually unlocked and 12V battery reset. The vehicles security features become deactivated during the lapse in battery/electronic functions.
NHTSA #11573527
The horn constantly fails and needs to be replaced. This is not only an issue with the Elantra, as I've seen it as a common issue among a range of Hyundai vehicles. Even my local dealership has many horns on hand, as it is so common for them to be replaced, as they stated. I've gone through 2 horns in less than a year. This is complete negligence on Hyundai's part, as the horn is a critical safety feature of any highway vehicle. They replace it knowing it's going to fail, completely disregarding the safety of both the operator and nearby car and foot traffic.

I was on a delivery yesterday when this first occurred. I put my car into reverse and proceded to back up when my engine cut off suddenly and a loud warning came on , on my dash by the steering wheel it said ... engine off, shift to neutral and restart. That is what I did and it restarted and I continued on with my deliveries. Then the exact same thing happened again today so I called the dealership and they said there is a recall with the isg system that could be the issue but no resolution yet so there's nothing they can do. In the meantime time I can't use my vehicle for work as im a full time food delivery driver and I have to back up into roadways multiple times a day going in and out of driveways and I can't risk my safety or other drivers safety as my car may turn off in the roadway.

Vehicle routinely sputters and stalls at slow speeds. This happens once or twice during most times I use the car. This has happened in intersections and on highways at stop and go traffic. The car is not safe to drive. I haves brought the vehicle into the dealer at least three times for this and they have replaced a different valve (don't know what it was) on two of the occasions but the problem continues. I have an upcoming appointment with my authorized Hyundai dealer (the vehicle is still under warranty) and hope I have better luck next time. But a vehicle that stalls on every trip is not safety.

On July 28th 2024, I took my new 2023 Hyundai Elantra to its first oil change at a Take 5 oil change center. They replaced the oil, filter, checked the fluid levels in my car, and topped the fluids off. That evening, I noticed there was a liquid leaking from behind the passenger side tire, and at first thought it was water from the A/C, but in the morning, I noticed a puddle of liquid was under the car. I went back to Take 5 on August 5th and informed them that I believed there was coolant leaking from the vehicle following my oil change. The worker checked and said my coolant reservoir was completely empty, and he refilled the coolant and told me to take it to be diagnosed at a full service auto center. On August 13th I noticed there was a smell of burning metal coming from the engine bay when I turned the car on and took it to a Firestone where they informed me that the radiator cap had failed and was no longer holding the pressure in the radiator, and that almost all the coolant had leaked from my car. I had the radiator cap replaced and kept the original to take to the Hyundai dealership to see if this was a manufacturers defect or the result of improper handling by the Take 5 worker.

On [XXX], I was driving to a hair appointment and was getting over to the far right lane. Traffic was stop and go and as I merged into the far right lane, the car flashed an “engine off” red light warning and had the words “put in N.” I quickly realized that the car had died on me. I tried to press on the gas to get over to the emergency lane, but the car would not accelerate. I tried to push the button to restart it, and it would not restart. I then tried to put it in neutral as I thought that’s what the N letter meant and still nothing happened. With the car dead, I steered the car into the emergency lane with my hazard lights on. I then pressed on the brakes, tried to put in neutral and finally put the car in park (I believe. I don’t really remember the order of events because I was panicking). I then pushed the button to start the car and it started up. I then drove in the slow lane the rest of the way until I got to my appointment, as I was worried the car would die out on me again on the fast lane and be killed. Our car has been at Stockton Hyundai since [XXX], and we still don’t have my car back. The car is in my husband’s name, [XXX]. They are claiming they can’t find anything wrong with it. There is a case number with corporate, but yet I can’t reach anybody there. I’ve talked to Tracy Hyundai, Stockton Hyundai, Corporate Hyundai, and still no car. What can I do to resolve this issue? We are paying on a car that is not in our possession. I leave messages at Stockton Hyundai, and nobody calls me back. I called Lauren at Corporate Hyundai and don’t have a callback from her. I called today and the recording says that she’s not available and then I’ll get transferred to a different agent and the phone just rings. So I called the main number at Corporate Hyundai again and they tell me they can’t give me a different agent. I have to call them again and again then, but still really no resolution and no car. Multiple times driving on highway at posted speed limit and vehicle displays emergency braking system and just comes to complete stop on highway with oncoming cars going 65mph. Has happened 3 times before.

My car has done 4 false automatic emergency braking incidents while I was on the freeway (all times). There was no vehicle in front of me or the sides and my car started applying emergency brakes with a message pop up on the digital dashboard. Looks like the system is falsely detecting there is a car in close proximity. When this happened, I noticed the back car hit the brakes and immediately switch lanes. The sudden brake could cause a collision. The car allows me to take control after a couple seconds but when the warning appears I can not. I have not reproduced or verified the case with a dealer but the instant has happen 3 times in the past month. It has not been inspected by any other parties.

Subject: Safety Concern – Unintended Emergency Braking My vehicle is experiencing a serious safety issue involving unintended emergency braking. While driving on the freeway, the vehicle has unexpectedly applied emergency braking on its own when other vehicles pass at higher speeds. This has occurred multiple times and has nearly caused accidents. This issue occurs consistently during my trips between [XXX] and [XXX] on Highway XXX, typically happening once or twice per trip. I make this drive approximately 4–6 times per year. The problem remains unresolved and continues to occur as of today, April 29, 2026, posing an ongoing safety concern. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Ans: The Forward Collision Warning didn't detect any vehicle ahead of me at the time of collision which caused the crash. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Ans: Me and my co passenger were luckily not injured but got almost killed during the collision. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Ans: The dealership or the Hyundai Motor America couldn't replicate this issue. They didn't answer the question to why the detection didnt happen during the crash and why my Automatic Emergency Braking failed. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Ans: Yes, Hyundai Motor America had a 3rd party company named Bosch inspect the vehicle to check for any fault during the time of cash. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Ans: No there was no warning signs displayed during the time of collision and no signs after the collision as well. Funny part after the collision my front bumper came off, my headlights broke, and many other components were damaged like my air conditioning and my seat heater and stuff but none of those issues showed in my blue link report(a report that shows any signs of warnings or crash detection's) that came to me the next business day in my email from Hyundai.

My car has 11000 miles. 6 times I have had the emergency braking come on when there have been no cars close to me (4 times by 3500 miles and twice from 3500-11000). One time no other cars even in sight. I have been on the freeway and on side streets, so from 20 mph to 65-70 mph. It is startling and I'm afraid will cause me to get rear ended as it's instinctive to step on brake when this happens. I mentioned this to the dealer I purchased it from at my 3500 and 11000 mile oil changes and they said they couldn't reproduce it and everything was fine. It's only happened 6 times in 11000 miles so it is unlikely the dealer will be able to reproduce. But especially going freeway speeds it is not safe to slam on breaks for no reason and I am afraid of getting rear ended. I was looking online to see if this problem had been reported and someone with the same issue was recommended to report it to this site, so I am doing the same. Thank you.

1. False Emergency braking when car from back side passing. Today I was driving in the left lane (lane 1) at ~43MPH. There was no vehicle in front of me and I saw a vehicle applying emergency brakes with a message pop up. At the same time there was a small truck passing me from behind in lane 2 at a higher speed than me. Looks like the system is falsely detecting there is a crash from back and applying brakes. So back in September of 2023 there was a recall 248 on my 2023 Hyundai Elantra hybrid Limited. This was before I bought the car. I bought it used at a local dealer according to the Carfax and everywhere I look up it says this issue has been fixed on September 14th of 2023. I'm still experiencing the same issue I wouldn't have even known about the recall from before if I didn't have the issue. Now I'm wondering before I take it to a dealer to have it fixed will be covered since it's not fixed. Or no because it was already done supposedly. Just curious thank you

The cruise control function ceased to properly function after automatically increasing the speed to 110 mph. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This is a safety risk for myself and for others on the road. If another combination with this fault were to occur (either physically to the driver or to the software), this could lead to an extreme hazard due to the potential for excessive speeds. The first occurrence for this vehicle happened on 4/21/2025; however, additional instances have been reported going back at least a year for other owners of this same model. Initial issue occurred while setting cruise control from 45 mph to 35 mph and then back to 45 mph. The last instance of 45 mph is when the cruise control quickly increased the set speed to 110 mph. The set speed could not be reduced after the issue occurred. This issue is difficult to reproduce, but will always occur after the first instance until the vehicle is restarted. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer. This is a known issue that has occurred for more than a year now. It appears to not be addressed due to the lack of reproducibility. However, when the software issue happens, it is continually reproducible until the vehicle is restarted. No other warning lamps or erroneous events occurred at the time of the software malfunction.

The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle independently accelerated to 110 MPH and seized at that speed. Additionally, the contact was unable to deactivate the feature. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was able to duplicate the failure; however, the dealer was unable to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50.

The car has been making clicking noise when braking or acceleration for about a year. I had all recalls software updated. I have brought it in multiple times. First saying a wheel bearing needed replacement, then a lose bolt. It helped for a while and then the clicking started again. Then the system failure occured recently and all the lights came on. The dealer currently cannot figure out what the issue is. The ABS light is on and the brakes don't seem to be working properly. I can't safely drive the vehicle and have no car to drive now. I have had the car a little over two years so lemon law most likely does not apply to this situation.

when on a test drive before the purchase of my vehicle, I and my family smelt a burning smell in the cabin. On return from the test drive, we informed our sales person who told us this was characteristic of a hybrid vehicle, and the smell will go away. It has been almost two months and 1,400 miles; the smell is still there. I don't know how and why it comes, but it definitely is smelt from time to time. I cannot duplicate it at will. I did take it to the dealership's service department, they kept it overnight and could not find any issues. When the technician took me for a test drive, it was there when I started the vehicle, but he said he did not smell burning smell, instead he said it was leather smell. I have had several people in my vehicle smell the burning smell, the problem is I cannot duplicate it on demand.

The right back and front windows on this car does not work. There are times when all 4 windows do not work and all 4 doors will lock up and cannot be open from inside nor outside. This is a huge safety hazard. I took the car back to the dealer a total of 6 times. They worked on the car 4 of those six times trying to fix the issue which still exist. They finally told me there is nothing more they can do at this point. I said ok then, so it's clear the car is a lemon, so I would like a manufacturers buy back. They have ignored me. This has been going on since March 5th of this year. I took the car to another dealer for a second opinion and was advised the car is a lemon so I should contact corporate. I was provided the contact information for corporate and so I called and made a complaint. Corporate advised they would have reached back out on June 14th of this year, and to this day I have hear nothing back. I am extremely terrified of driving this car because, what is there is a fire or something, and I can't get out of the car? This car is a real safety issue and all I have gotten from the dealer is disrespect over and over and over. At one point I went back to them letting know again I do not want the car and u was asked by one of their sales person if this is about money. How insensitive. I am paying for a car that I can't even drive. I have parked this car since June 25th of this year and have to now be relying on uber or begging persons a ride. Most time it's very inconvenient. I have tried to speak with the dealer numerous amount of times, but to no avail. I don't know what else to do. Please advise accordingly. Anticipating your favorable response.

My 2023 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid has has defective windshield washer nozzles 2 times so far. The factory nozzles clogged and had to be replaced. Then I got replacements installed under warranty by the local dealership. Those are now clogged exactly the same as the originals. The replacement nozzles failed much faster than the factory original equipment parts did. I am only using standard washer fluid. The fluid was tested by the dealership and is normal. Even high pressure compressed air can’t get through the nozzles at all. I am having a second replacement set ordered as of today. I suggest a recall or redesign of these defective nozzles. If you are driving just after it has rained and a passing vehicle hits a puddle and splashes dirty water all over your windshield you have no way to spray it off and clean it, so you can’t see where you are going at all. This is a major safety issue and will definitely cause an accident in such circumstances. It has been raining in my area several days per week for the past couple of months. There is lots of construction and road construction in many areas, so there is lots of dirt/mud after each rain on the roads. This creates a potentially dangerous and possibly life-ending situation if you are driving, get your windshield splashed with muddy water and can’t spray it off to clear it and can’t see where you are going suddenly, while you are on a highway. If you can’t see through the windshield you can’t even see if it is safe to pull off to the side of the road or not. These windshield nozzles need an emergency redesign and recall issued.

Small crack in windshield caused by a twig less than 4 inches long with a diameter smaller than the width of. Finger. Another small crack in windshield. Do not know how it occurred Contacted local windshield repair business and was advised, per manufacturer they only replace the windshield. Looked online and see that the windshield issue is a known defect. I have an elderly father that lives in North Carolina and I’m gonna have to replace my glass because I don’t want another twig to fall in and burst out my entire windshield when I’m driving down the highway

Had a crack on the windshield which was getting larger quickly. There was no damage caused by debris that I was aware of. Spoke to multiple dealerships and they refused to fix or even check if it was a defect. Went through insurance to get the windshield replaced but Safelite said that it was not a damage but most definitely a defective windshield.

I was driving on the turnpike and the truck in front of me was carrying material that caused my windshield to be soiled. I tried to clean but water did not come out of windshield wiper. I had to exit and clean manually. I was surprised no water because the car has only 2,700 miles and is 5 months old. I tried to fill with water but water dripped out. Next day I took to Hyundai dealer who told me rodents ate the hose. They charged me $252.43 to replace hose. I read online many claims against Hyundai for using soy based products in the engine components that attract rodents. I learned that two of my friends who own Hyundai's had similar problems with rodents eating wires and hoses. If it was at night when my windshield was compromised I could have had an accident. Hyundai has turned a defect into a moneymaker. Shame on them! Please help.

The Elantra had less than 15,000 miles on it. I was driving on [XXX] at about 80MPH for about 1 hour. With no warning, while going up over a very large, high bridge/overpass (above a large outlet emptying from the everglades into the Atlantic ocean near Stuart Florida) the power totally died. A warning light came on saying the hybrid system was not functioning instructing me to pull over to the shoulder. This happened just as I crested the top of the overpass. I was able to coast to the bottom of the bridge, cross two lanes with large 18 wheeler vehicles making this challenging and park on the shoulder at the bottom of the bridge. The vehicle was towed to a nearby dealer. Their mechanic determined the "brain" between the hybrid battery and the drivers controls (the gas peddle) had failed, which disabled all power to the wheels. Had I not been cresting the top of the bridge it would have been impossible for me to move to the shoulder. This was an incredibly dangerous scenario that occurred with no warning. This failure of a key electronic component put me at extreme risk of a high speed accident on a very busy turnpike with no control whatsoever of the speed of the vehicle. There should be a redundant "brain" that would take over in this "failure" situation that would provide power at least for a limited time allowing a driver to maneuver to the shoulder. It was a miracle I was not killed. Had I been driving on limited access high speed lanes (as exist in Orlando where I live and my wife frequently drives which has no real shoulders one can safely pull over onto) the situation would have absolutely life threatening. These high speed toll lanes eliminate any ability to actually safely park and exit the car. I traded the car in (warranty covered repairs) the next day for a normal gas powered Hyundai. I will never drive a hybrid again until this type breakdown has been addressed so it can never occur. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH and above, the RPM fluctuated, and the engine revved loudly. The transmission then seized in 5th gear, and the vehicle lost motive power. No warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the failure recurred while driving at 65–70 MPH with the cruise control activated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure persisted, and the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound while the transmission was shifted into park (P). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,600.

I have been encountering a series of troubling and erratic issues with my vehicle. These problems occur under various driving conditions, including acceleration, steady-state driving, and braking. However, the most prevalent and problematic occurrences seem to transpire during acceleration and braking. During acceleration, I've observed inconsistent behavior. Sometimes, the car shifts smoothly, with minimal torque drop between gears. On other occasions, the vehicle accelerates initially but then abruptly loses all power between gears, resembling the sensation of someone engaging the clutch in a manual vehicle and shifting slowly. This results in a temporary power loss lasting 1-2 seconds, followed by an over-revving and clutch slip, leading to an unintended surge in acceleration. The issues I've encountered during braking typically begin with a chattering noise and vibrations that seem to be an imbalanced or shocked reciprocating mass, I can assume maybe one of the clutches/flywheel . This is often followed by decreased brake pedal linearity, requiring increased brake pedal pressure to stop. This normally results in an unintended aggressive forward jerk just before coming to a stop, akin to someone releasing a clutch on a manual transmission vehicle too quickly when downshifting while the engine speed is too low. The steady-state symptom occurs less frequently but occasionally involves a momentary loss of power, almost resembling a backfire without the noise. I can only assume that this is related to brief disengagement of the clutches. I sought assistance by taking my vehicle to a local dealership who kept it for a little over a week. Unfortunately, they were unable to reproduce these issues, and no actions were taken to address my concerns. This unpredictable behavior from the vehicle often catches me and my passengers off guard and really makes it hard to trust the vehicle.

*The engine began sputtering really bad and the check engine light came on. I brought the vehicle to the dealership that I purchased it from and they recommended a fuel system flush and change the spark plugs. I had them change the spark plugs and the check engine was cleared but still sputtered a bit. So I brought it to my mechanic who does most of my work and his diagnosis was that oil was blowing by and to not drive it and have towed to Hyundai cause they've been seeing all kinds of engine problems on Hyundai's and that they since the warranty was 100k miles and I had just reached 104k miles that they may fix it. It is currently at Hyundai dealership being diagnosed. *I was driving on the interstate when engine began shaking in the middle of rush hour traffic making it difficult to pull over to see if I could see anything. *Independent mechanic replicated and said to not drive the vehicle. *Hyundai is currently inspecting the vehicle now. *Check engine light came on after the violent sputtering of the engine.

While driving down an interstate at approximately 58 miles per hour, I turned on the cruise control and went to adjust it to 65 miles per hour. The car rapidly accelerated and it appeared on the dash that the cruise control defaulted to 110 miles per hour, which appears to be the maximum on the system. I tried to turn the speed down, but the cruise control would not go below 110 miles per hour. I immediately deactivated cruise control and continued to drive at normal speed. I tried multiple times thereafter to set cruise control, and it would again, rapidly try to accelerate the car to 110 miles per hour and would not let me decrease the speed. After stopping at a rest stop, turning the car off and on and driving again, it appeared the glitch was fixed and I was able to operate the cruise control normally. Please note that the "adaptive" part of the cruise control, including steering assist/lane departure worked fine the entire time.

Since 2/2/24 13 episodes of all safety features failing including blind spot monitor, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and others. Last occurrence on 8-8-24. On one occasion the car failed to accelerate in the middle of an intersection, the car did move slowly and operation returned to normal after turning off the car and pressing the 12V reset button. Diagnostic codes found on car APP include both C164286 and C164202 for all 13 episodes. Despite being told this code is "for the speed sensor because it saw a voltage drop from the battery system" the dealer claims there is nothing they can do because they can't recreate the problem. This is highly dangerous to my family and others as the safety features can prevent accidents. The most concerning is the car suddenly losing acceleration as this could potential happen where there is no safe way to get off the road in time prior to an accident. This loss of acceleration has been reported by many other people on the Facebook group I am a part of called Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Owners. The loss of safety features occurred after all recalls were performed as of 8-8-24

The vehicle applies automatic emergency brakes when another vehicle passes close by from behind in an adjacent lane, when the Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, feature is set to “Active Assist.” The owner’s manual states that this feature operates when the turn signal is turned on in the direction of the detected vehicle. However, my experience shows that the car applies brakes even when the turn signal is off and the vehicle is driving straight within its lane, without changing lanes. As per NHTSA description automatic breaks to be applied if the driver ignores the warning and tries to change the lane. But Hyundai design applies brakes even if car driven within lane without any warning before applying break

As I started driving my Hyundai Elantra, the digital dash and infotainment screen went black and then I got a message that my Hyundai BlueLink Profile along with its settings had been reset. I did not initiate this reset. I never heard anything from the manufacturer about this incident either. This momentarily caused me to lose sight of my speedometer and it reset all my ADAS settings such as following distances, warnings vs active assists, etc.

I am reporting a recurring issue with my 2023 Hyundai Elantra where the low oil pressure warning light illuminates consistently during strong acceleration. This is accompanied by a distinct smoky odor from the vehicle. Based on my research into recall 23V-859, which addresses fire risks from a faulty electronic controller for the oil pump in the Idle Stop & Go system, I believe my vehicle is experiencing a related or identical failure. The symptoms strongly suggest that the defective oil pump controller is malfunctioning under load, potentially leading to dangerous overheating and a short circuit.
NHTSA #11689420
I experienced an issue where I was driving the vehicle, and then a "hybrid system fault" message appeared on the driver information display followed by the complete loss of power. This made me have to pull over to the side of the road with no ability to accelerate out of the way of traffic to come to a stop. Once I was stopped I tuned off the vehicle and tried to turn it back on, but the vehicle would not respond so I attempted pressing the 12 volt battery reset button to the left of the steering wheel to see if this would allow me to turn the vehicle on and the car came back to life with no warning lights or messages and drove normally. This happened three more times over the course of ~1.5 hrs on my way home on the highway. I understand that things happen, I just wish there was more warning before all power was cut and the vehicle went into limp mode as this left me in a dangerous situation. The vehicle has been dropped off at the dealer and is awaiting a new hybrid battery replacement under warranty.

There have been multiple occasions, both on highway and urban roads, when the Lane Keeping Assist system has forced me out of my lane, both taking control of my car's steering wheel to move me out of the lane while also failing to trigger my Lane Departure Warning. One time, LKA jerked over into a lane of oncoming traffic, another time it jerked me out of my lane into a near collision with a concrete lane barrier, and another time the LKA jerked out of the lane almost into a curb.

My 2023 Hyundai Elantra vehicle displays a low oil pressure message when accelerating. Is this related to the recent recall for the electric oil pump assembly that may overheat and increase the risk of a fire?

I purchased a 2023 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid 2023 on December 15, 2023, and since early ownership I have experienced persistent jerking/clunking while slowing to a stop, harsh downshifts, hesitation during braking, and rough transitions between electric and engine power. The issue was first documented around 5,744 miles and continued through approximately six to eight repair/work orders, where dealerships repeatedly described the condition as normal hybrid/DCT behavior while performing software resets, adaptive relearns, and diagnostic checks. After continued complaints, Hyundai Techline became involved and the dealership concluded the vehicle “jerks pretty bad,” leading to a full transmission replacement under warranty. Despite the transmission replacement, the issue persisted and the dealership later confirmed slight clunking during downshifts and discovered a torn engine mount, which was also replaced. The dealership additionally noted that the issue did not occur while driving another Elantra Hybrid or the loaner vehicle, suggesting the condition was specific to my vehicle. I also opened a case with Hyundai Motor America Consumer Affairs regarding the recurring defect and repeated failed repair attempts, but the issue continues despite major drivetrain repairs. Hyundai Motors America Consumer Affairs has not been able to help me with this either. They also didn't provide me with the Federal Agency number when I requested them in order to reach out and seek help from the agencies. Hyundai didn't help me in any way. There were no warnings. They have been able to reproduce the issue but do not want to resolve the issue. I strongly believe no vehicle is designed in a way that it jerks and downshifts in a harsh manner causing distress to the driver/owner.

On my way home waiting for the green light the car would not respond to the accelerator.. the engine would rev up on the tachometer but would not move. Finally the engine responded and the car took off reaching 83mph in a matter of seconds. After release of the accelerator I was able to get the car under control. At the next traffic light even with my foot on the brake the vehicle lunged forward nearly striking the car in front. I put the car in neutral and was able to use neutral and low gear to get it back home...the car was towed to the dealership the next morning.

While driving in a straight line my brakes and brake pedal were activated without any pressure being applied and maintaining about 45 mph. I pulled over to check the car and see if there was anything stuck in the wheel well and saw nothing. I got back in my car and proceeded to drive 2 blocks where i then went to park and upon turning left to pull into a parking spot my car immediately stopped and indicated that the emergency brake had been activated. I had not touched the brakes or the hand brake whatsoever and using the handbrake to turn on and off the emergency brake did not fix this i had to just wait until it was released. Upon researching this other drivers of the same model and year have experienced this problem in more dangerous situations on the freeways and at high speeds. I believe the problem has to do with the emergency brake being activated due to an electrical problem.

The tracking number assigned by NHTSA for this issue is 11733456 I am writing to update and escalate my previously filed safety complaint regarding my vehicle. I recently received my car back from the dealership after they informed me that all issues had been repaired and that the vehicle was safe to drive. However, after getting the vehicle back, it is not the same, and it is not safe to operate. The vehicle pulls strongly to the left while driving, which creates a serious risk of losing control, especially at normal road speeds. In addition, multiple safety and driver‑assistance functions are not working as intended. Despite these issues, the dealership insists that everything is “within specifications” and refused to take further corrective action. Because of these unresolved defects, I am afraid to drive this vehicle. I have already experienced a traumatic incident related to this car, and returning it in this condition has caused significant fear and emotional distress. I cannot go through another dangerous situation. I believe this vehicle poses a genuine safety risk to me and to others on the road. I am requesting that NHTSA review my complaint again, including this new information, as the problem persists after inspection and attempted repair. A vehicle that pulls to one side and has non‑functioning safety systems should not be considered safe for normal use. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I am available to provide any additional details, documentation, or records you may require.

I was performing a low-speed maneuver to reverse-park into my driveway. After making a right turn between my driveway and the driveway of a neighboring townhouse across the street, I came to a complete stop. When I shifted the vehicle into reverse, the vehicle did not reverse as expected and instead unexpectedly accelerated forward. I applied the brake but was unable to stop the vehicle before it traveled forward into the driveway across the street and struck the garage door of a neighboring townhouse. The maneuver was being performed at low speed. Weather conditions were clear, and the driveway surface was dry. The cause of the unexpected acceleration is unknown at this time. No warning lights, messages, or alerts were observed prior to or during the incident. Immediately following the collision, I placed the vehicle into park and applied the parking brake, at which point the vehicle came to rest. Upon impact, the driver-side front airbag deployed. Smoke and a burning odor were observed coming from the deployed airbag. The incident posed a safety risk due to the vehicle’s unexpected forward movement during a low-speed maneuver and resulted in property damage. No injuries were reported. The vehicle remains available for inspection.

During driving, vehicle displayed a system error indicating an issue with the hybrid system. The vehicle then immediately, and without warning, completely shut off and caused the driver to have to manually guide the vehicle to the side of the road without power assistance. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request, however we have taken it to the dealership who have inspected the vehicle but told us they could not find an issue, even though we clearly experienced on. The incident can easily be verified by our insurance company, who had to tow the vehicle. This incident put our safety at risk as it not only caused a sudden vehicle failure which could have further risked accident, but the driver also suffered heat stroke waiting for the tow truck. As stated earlier, the service center at the dealership could not reproduce or confirm the issue and have simply stated that the vehicle should just be driven as is. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. I'd like to further note that this service station and dealership is called Horne Hyundai and is located in Apache Junction, Arizona. They have ignored this issue, gaslighted us, and left us with no option but to report them and this vehicle.

The issue involves the hybrid electric powertrain or electrical control system in my 2023 Hyundai Elantra Limited Hybrid. The vehicle has shut off multiple times while driving, with complete loss of power and propulsion. This poses a serious safety risk, as it happens without warning in the middle of the road. Restarting the car requires shifting into Park and trying multiple times to turn it off, but the vacuole turns back on the first try. I have experienced this issue several times, including twice during a 300-mile highway trip. After each shutdown, the dashboard displays multiple warning lights, including the Check Engine Light, Battery Light, Oil Pressure Light, and Hybrid System Warning (orange car icon). I took a photo immediately after the most recent failure to document these warnings. The vehicle has been inspected three times by two different Hyundai dealerships. Both confirmed the vehicle is under warranty but have not repaired or diagnosed the issue, citing that they cannot replicate it. They have driven it ~200 miles without success. However, they have not pulled ECU data or freeze-frame codes, even though warning lights were active at the time of failure. There are no symptoms or warning messages before the failure — the vehicle shuts off suddenly. The car is available for inspection, and I am in the process of opening a formal case with Hyundai. This is a significant and recurring safety hazard that must be addressed. This issue has an occurred a various speeds including during acceleration and braking. The picture attached is the dashboard after the I indent has occurred and have shifted to park after stopping to try and restart the car to get out of the middle of the road.

UNKNOWN I had the lane assist feature on and was taking the second lane from right to turn off to exit when the alarm went off, the wheel turned itself and it started braking. There was nothing where it was trying to avoid and actually almost had me run into another by turning me left back onto the freeway while trying to stop. It’s never happened to me before and I take that way regularly.

While driving at highway speeds the vehicle will suddenly decelerate forcing vehicles behind said vehicle to make defensive maneuvers to avoid hitting our vehicle. We have taken the vehicle to the dealership twice for this condition. This time we were told it was the EGR valve, but it was on backorder. We are now forced to drive this vehicle until it is repaired.

My 2023 Hyundai Elantra has started alerting me while driving that I was going the wrong way down a road. The alert goes something like: WARNING Entering into wrong way detected. This occurs when I'm driving the correct direction. I've Googled the issue and other Hyundai owners have documented receiving the same message. I believe this is dangerous if one is driving someplace unfamiliar and receives this message. It has the potential to alarm a driver into making a U turn and traveling into oncoming traffic.

One night I went to get diapers for my baby and it was raining and I hit the breaks and the breaks lost control and I crashed into a median wall and my car kept spinning around. Ambulance were called and I was admitted to the hospital with minor injuries.

So far since owning this vehicle. I have gone through 7 OEM windshields. I had a 2010 Ford Focus, replaced it with the 2023 Elantra. In 13 years driving the same roads, and only replaced 5 windshields. The windshield thickness needs to be looked into, or what they are made of. Very small rocks are causing the damage, however, what would happen if a much larger rock hit the windshield?

The vehicle's horn has completely stop working as of [XXX]. I took the vehicle to a toyota dealership because the Hyundai dealerships did not have any available appointments at the time. The Toyota dealership in Ardmore looked at the vehicle to see if there were any issues with fuses and wires. They were unable to find any issues. The dealership recommended I contact Hyundai. I then arranged for an appointment from Hyundai. Several days before the appointment, I was contacted by Conicelli Hyundai. They told me they are not taking any new bookings. I put a bad review on Conicelli's google review. I received a message from Conicelli's customer service department askimg me to call back. I called them back and was told that the service manager will call me back. The service manager called back and I explained that the horn is not working. The service manager told me that they just replaced a horn on someone elses car. He also related that the item is on back order. When I did some google searches for horn issues, I began to see that this is a national problem with their horn failures on various vehicles among different years. I have not driven the car since the horn failure. I believe the horn is on back order because Hyundai is having so many problems with their horn. On Saturday December 16th my vehicle was parked as I was shopping. When I returned to the vehicle and started it, lights began to light up on the dashboard. They included the rear collision, front collision, airbag, parking brake, battery, tires, blind spot, and others. I called Hyundai and they said that they did not receive any communication from the vehicle stating that there was a problem. The front and rear cameras stopped working and I could no longer tell if my turning signals were operational as I didn't hear the normal clicking sound. It was difficult to turn as the steering wheel was tight. When I first went to the dealership, they refused to take a look at the problem. After filing a complaint with Hyundai, I was finally able to take the vehicle in on yesterday. They also are confused because the initial test showed that there was no problem. They now have the vehicle and are trying to find the cause. This is very concerning because in addition to basically driving blind, according to the manufacturer book, continuing to drive with specific light on could cause engine problems. I also was no longer aware of the speed that the vehicle was traveling nor how much going. The dealership says that it will be several days before they can get to the cause. There was no warning prior to all of the lights coming on and the vehicle has not been involved in any accidents.

I turned on Cruise Control at 60 mph and it immediately set itself to 20 mph, braking fast to slow down quickly. This caused the car behind me to slam on his brakes so he would not rear end me. I tried increasing cruise control speed to no avail. I had to turn it off. Once I did not have any cars behind me, I tried once again so I could take a video and of course, it worked as it should. Not five minutes later, my radio turned the volume down to zero, all by itself. 20 minutes later, when I slowed to turn into a parking lot, my car lagged and acted as if it didn't have gas enough to go up a small incline. Pressing on the gas pedal didn't do very much but I made it up the incline and was able to park. I will be calling Hyundai Dealership tomorrow where I purchased the vehicle last year. I do not have any type of pictures or recordings as it just happened and it was a pretty scary event considering I was almost rear ended.

My vehicle usually would turn on the warning light stating that the engine oil level is low when I accelerate. The last time I had an oil change, it would turn on when I accelerate my vehicle to merge on the highway. I have had my engine oil level sensor changed out in my vehicle by a Hyundai tech. Immediately after my sensor was changed and I merged on to the nearest highway, it went on again when I increased speed. My vehicle has been inspected by a Hyundai dealer but it could not be fixed. I purchased a car on December 24th 2022 and from the day I left off the lot there were electrical signals showing that the car was malfunctioning. I told [XXX] (the dealer) what was taking place and the dealership never called me or tried to assist with any problems. For months the signals were coming on and off and my last straw was when my windshield wipers stopped working in the middle of a rain storm after I had just made an in person complaint for the 3rd time about my electrical issues on the car while at the dealership on May 13th 2023. I had just been told there was nothing they could do and I called them upon leaving to tell them I could not see while driving because my wipers were not working. They told me to just go home. [XXX] (New car sales manager) hung up on me 5/17/2023 after telling me I am making assumptions when I was shown proof that the car had issues by the service department when they finally serviced my car about my complaints on 5/16/2023. He told me he was never made aware when I emailed the service manager all of my proof the day prior. I called 5 times before I could actually reach [XXX] who would have been [XXX] supervisor. In the 4 corners of the moonroof where the metal roof meets the moonroof, there is a visible dent/metal tension in each corner. After receiving professional opinions for local body shops, they've all come to the same conclusion: The moonroof was improperly or poorly installed at the factory, which is leading to the moonroof dragging down on the metal corners of the roof leading to visible tension/dents in these spots. Furthermore, the issue is continuing to worsen as time goes on.
