The idle stop on the van will stall the vehicle. This has happened 3 separate times where the vehicle stops, then stalls when the engine tries to turn back on. This can be very dangerous, especially when trying to turn from an intersection and the vehicle stalls.

NHTSA #11723214

The vehicle will shut off at stops after the auto idle stop engages. We have to turn the vehicle back on and press the "off auto idle stop" button to not have this happen. I will enter the last date we noticed this below.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, and while stopped at a red traffic light, the Automatic START/STOP system failed, causing the vehicle to unexpectedly shut off. The vehicle was restarted and drove normally. On another occasion, while stopped in a drive-thru, the vehicle shut off unexpectedly. The emissions system, adaptive cruise control, and tire monitoring system warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with battery failure. The battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000.

2015 Honda Odyssey with approx 34000 miles. During auto stop/start events the van intermittently would not restart. This issue was worse during warm weather and occured throughout the summer of 2025. It was also noticed that the van sometimes would experience hard starts when restarting soon after a drive. It appeared to be a heat soak issue with the starter and the starter could not turn over the engine. There were no service lights present during this issue. After it failed to start, you would need to turn the ignition off then back on to attempt to restart. Service was performed at Performance Honda in Fairfield Ohio on 11/21/2025, and although the van passed all tests in regards to battery and starter. Initially the van was not going to be repaired/covered, but the van happened failed to start while in the service bay. The starter assembly was replaced under warranty on 11/25/2025. This is a safety issue when the van doesn't restart while at a stoplight or even worse when attempting to pull out into traffic.

NHTSA #11701726

Reference: EA25004 Car fails to restart while warm, and idle stopped. This has happened twice in the last three months. The car will idle stop at an intersection - temperature outside is around 90-93. Air conditioner and other electronics are on in the car, but not on full power. The car will fail to come back on when the foot is taken off the brake. The battery light turns on. Must re-start the car using the push button after several tries. This invariably happens at a very busy intersection. Cars behind you see you take the foot off the brake but the car doesn't move - this is a very dangerous situation. 17,000 miles on odometer Took the car to a dealer a few days later. The dealer says everything tests fine. I ask for a new battery, and they claim they replace it after forcing a test failure. Issue happens again a few weeks later. Also noted: the car has a hard time re-starting when it's warm. It'll turn once, cause the fuses to click, pause, and then turn over and start. So it may not just be the idle-stopper that's the problem. Took to another Honda dealer. They refused to do anything - claimed all tests were fine. They could not replicate the problem. They noted the battery was somewhat discharged. They charged the battery, and said everything still tests fine. No further repair made. On the way home (25 minute drive - mostly highway), near the house, coming back from idle stop - the car laboriously turned back (slow/delayed turnover) on. Still not right, Not a full failure, but not how it should be behaving either. I try to defeat the engine idle stop - but this is an added human factor and I often forget to do so.

When the idle stop feature is engaged (it is by default), my van will die at stoplights, stop signs, or any extended stop. The van has been to the dealership multiple times, battery has been replaced. Service advisor informed me that this is a frequent and known issue with Odysseys. I’m just hoping for some help and/or guidance to remedy this potentially dangerous situation.

NHTSA #11674049

"The vehicle is experiencing an intermittent, loud popping/crackling noise coming from the speakers and infotainment system. This is a known symptom of a failure in the MOST (Media Oriented Systems Transport) bus network, specifically related to defective FAKRA connectors and coaxial cabling. This issue was previously the subject of NHTSA Recall #23V-431 for 2018–2023 models, but the defect persists in this 2024 model." Safety Risk: "When the MOST bus network loses connection for more than 20 seconds, the infotainment screen freezes or goes black, causing a total failure of the rearview (backup) camera image. This failure occurs unpredictably while the vehicle is in reverse, significantly increasing the risk of a back-over accident or collision. Additionally, the loud, sudden popping noises are a severe driver distraction." Dealer/Manufacturer Response: "The Honda dealership confirmed the issue is consistent with the known MOST bus failure (TSB 23-047). However, because the vehicle has 49,000 miles, both the dealership and Honda Corporate (Case # [Insert your number if you have one]) have denied a goodwill repair, despite this being a documented safety defect that has been the subject of prior federal recalls

NHTSA #11722525

On occasion, engine fails to restart on its own from a complete stop at a traffic light or road intersection when the Auto Idle Stop function is engaged. Engine and electronics in vehicle completely shut off, requiring the driver to put the vehicle in park and turn the car on again by pressing the Start button.

NHTSA #11651666

Since purchasing my 2024 Odyssey EX-L I have experienced on multiple occasions where the idle stop engages but upon releasing the brake the vehicle fails to restart, dash lights up and vehicle is shifted automatically into park while sitting in traffic and vehicles moving all around me as well as honking as I am unable to restart the vehicle immediately. I have to push the start button multiple times before the vehicle will restart. Dealership is unable to replicate issue so I just started turning it off. Now the idle stop/start doesn't engage at all even after driving for hours. Additionally the vehicle is very slow to start especially if I have had to start the vehicle a different times throughout the day. I took the vehicle back to the dealer and they diagnosed it with a bad starter at only 38K miles which is of course out of warranty. Not only is this a safety issue of the vehicle stalling in traffic but Honda is failing to recognize a well known issue with the starter in this particular vehicle, sticking consumers with hefty repair bills for a manufacturing issue.

The car fails to start when coming out of the idle start/stop feature. This has happened at least 3 times to my family. When it occurs it takes ~1min to restart the vehicle and can occur in an intersection.

After stopping at a red light behind a few cars in a left turn lane, the Auto Idle Stop (AIS) system turned off the engine. A moment later the light turned green and I let my foot up from the brake pedal. The engine failed to start. The hazard lights turned on automatically. I reapplied pressure to the brake and pressed the Engine Start/Stop button, which had no effect. Electrical systems remained active (i.e. the car did not turn off completely), but the engine also didn't start. I ensured the vehicle was in park and stepped out to verify the fuel door was closed (I had just filled the tank) and check the battery connections. Cars were going around us on the passenger side, and oncoming traffic was very close to me on the driver's side. I was concerned for myself and my passengers. No one was injured, nor was there a collision. After returning to the driver's seat, I tried the Engine Start/Stop button again. This time the car shut down. I waited a minute, then started the car. The engine started successfully. The vehicle is available for inspection. The problem has not been reproduced. We have been disabling AIS since the incident, so it's unlikely to happen again. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center, nor has it been inspected by anyone yet. I noticed the engine being slightly slower to restart after AIS stopped it in the few weeks leading up to the incident. There were no other symptoms I noticed.

NHTSA #11741942

On 3 separate occasions, I have been at a stop light where the auto stop kicks in. When I release my foot from brake, it should auto start. Instead, it stalls out. This is a huge safety issue and has caused cars behind me to get angry and honk. If someone wasn't paying attention, this could cause collision easily. The battery seems fine, and even if it wasn't, shouldn't the battery life be considered when the feature is triggered? I will be taking it in to get serviced, but I'm very frustrated.

The car will lose power while sitting at a red light. The dash lights up and you can't do anything. You have to turn it off and back on and hope no one hits you in the meantime. This has happened twice now. I bought it brand new, serviced regularly and has 16k miles.

NHTSA #11734980

The auto idle stop on this specific vehicle has left me stopped in traffic numerous times. If left on, it frequently will cause the car to turn off when attempting to start from a stop at a intersection, causing a back up or near collision in some instances. It takes 5 - 10 seconds minimum to recognize what has happened, shift to park (if the vehicles allows, which sometimes does not), and restart the car. This being said, I have other Honda's with the same function, and all work normally (as expected), turning off the car when stopped briefly, and starting immediately upon letting off the brake or pushing the gas. -It's only this 2024 Odyssey with this issue- I have spoken with other owners of the same year model and have had the same complaint. The mechanics at the dealership have even said that it is a known issue with this model year, but that Honda has not fixed. This vehicle has been to the delearship at least 3 times to attempt to fix. A new battery was also not a solution. The issue continued after replacement.

NHTSA #11741214

The idle start/stop feature is not starting back up after stopping. This occurs after driving for for some time. I have had this happen to me in traffic where I am not able to quickly start my car back up. Sometimes it requires me to turn my car completely off on the highway. This also happens at traffic lights and I am not able to go after the light turns green. I took my car in to have it looked at and they said they saw the problem in the logs and it was that my battery was low. They replaced my battery however I am still having this problem with the brand new battery. An error shows on the dash but I can't remember it word for word.

On [XXX], we were driving our new 2024 honda odyssey in the mountains of Estes Park, CO at about 10,000 feet. When steering to the left making hairpin turns, the car made loud metal on metal screeching/screaming noises going about 30-40 mph for about 5 minutes-the car had approx 4,400 miles on it at this point in time. On returning to the midwest on [XXX], while in Iowa, we steered slightly to the right while exiting the highway, going about 30-40 mpg and again heard loud metal on metal screeching/screaming noises going for approx. 3-5 minutes. The car had about 5,600 miles on it at this point in time. There appears to be another recall for 2024 honda odysseys for a steering gearbox recall (diagnosed by abnormal noises while turning the vehicle) but my vehicle is not included in that recall. I cannot recreate the noise. I tried to take the car in to my local honda dealer, but they said that they would need to charge me a diagnostic and labor fee to check it out and since it's not part of the recall they would have to charge me to look at the gearbox. I am concerned as these noises are not your typical braking sound type of noise-- it sounds like something is wrong with the steering or some other major issue. I called Honda corporate 2 times-- they said they will not help me unless I go in to get the car diagnosed and told me I would need to pay for that myself and that may not get reimbursed later on if there is no recall. I am concerned that the only way to see if the gearbox has an issue is to take it apart and that is very expensive. The contact owns a 2024 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while stopped and using the Auto START/STOP feature, the vehicle failed to restart as designed. While attempting to restart the vehicle, the battery warning light flashed on the instrument panel. The vehicle restarted after several minutes. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

While operating the vehicle, I have experienced repeated problems with the idle stop/start system. Specifically: 1-The engine automatically shuts off at stop signs and stop lights as designed, but at times the vehicle fails to restart immediately when the brake is released or the acceleration is pressed. 2-Multiple occasion while stopped in traffic the vehicle unexpectantly shifted into "Park." 3-For the last 3 weeks the vehicle sometimes hesitates to start on first attempt.

For a fourth time this year, the vehicle suddenly loses power while travelling on the freeway. It completely shuts off acceleration for 30-60 seconds and then picks back up by itself. The last two ocassions it happened was between 8:10 am and 8:12 am on August 18,2025. It happened on the freeway again on August 22 at about 8:13 am. The 2024 Honda Odyssey has an idle-stop feature which is hesitating too much and risking stalling at intersections. Honda tried to blame it on the battery but even Honda has tested the battery as fine. The 2025 model has a software fix to disable the idle-stop when the AC is running hard and this would fix the 2024 but they claim to have to fix for the car. This is dangerous to be stalling at major intersections and many Honda and Acura vehicles have had and many still have this problem. Remembering to disable the control every time one starts the car is NOT a fix. Please help get this problem for 2024 Honda Odyssey’s fixed before someone gets injured or worse trying to restart a car when it keeps stalling

With the auto cutoff engaged when stopped at a red light, the vehicle shut off on its own. I had to put the vehicle in park and try the push button start a few times before the vehicle turned back on. I had to put my flashers on because the light turned green before I could get it restarted. Someone had to swerve to avoid me. I was almost rear ended because the intersection I was stopped at was near an interstate offramp and the driver did not recognize I was stopped. I took it to a Honda Dealership and they said they could not replicate the problem but that there was a bulletin identifying the issue and that the bulletin had been withdrawn. I was told that it likely meant a recall would be coming in the future. The following message came on when the vehicle turned off: Shift to park. The red battery dash light was on.

The Auto Idle Stop (AIS) feature on our 2024 Honda Odyssey EX-L has recently failed to restart engine leaving driver and passengers stranded in heavy traffic at intersection traffic lights. This has occurred twice, once while traveling alone, once while traveling with five year old child. Safety put at risk because driver had to exit car in middle of road during rush hour traffic while cars attempted to go around. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by dealer. Had battery tested at auto parts store and results indicate battery in good condition. Vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives. There were not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

Vehicle is idling rough. Took to dealership and they said it has an obvious misfire. Over a total of six days they had it and performed diagnostics that were requested by Hondas Tech line. The dealership told me that they were informed by Hondas tech line that is just how that vechile is. I got referred to Hondas corporate and spoke with them. I was then requested to bring the vehicle back to the dealership for further testing. They had it less than 3 hours. And again I was told that the vehicle misfiring is just a characteristic of the vehicle. I’m concerned about my vehicle misfiring and Honda not wanting to fix it. I don’t want to be driving down the road with my family and have an engine failure. Issue has been ongoing for a few weeks

NHTSA #11677629

I was stopped at a red light for a long time. The idle on/off feature engaged, turning the engine off as expected. However, the engine would not turn back on; the vehicle completely stalled. It took several attempts to get the vehicle to turn back on. I was on a very busy 5-lane road with my child in the car. This was very dangerous as we were in a middle lane. We would not be able to safely exit the vehicle. I was extremely worried we would be rear-ended.

This complaint alleges issues with this vehicle as follows: 1. Honda has a defective design in the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) of all Honda Odysseys, models 2018-2024. 2. Namely, Honda has placed the RADAR behind the large HONDA emblem on the front grille. This causes the radar to give a "RADAR OBSTRUCTED" warning, which disables all Advanced Driver Assistance Systems in the car (Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning). 3. The "RADAR OBSTRUCTED" warning cannot be reset by restarting the vehicle or disconnecting the battery, requiring recalibration of the RADAR at the cost of $800 each time since it takes several hours to do (per Dealership). 4. The official Honda Odyssey Forum online has countless complaints on the same issue without resolution by Honda. 5. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers since this defect impacts the vehicle's advanced safety features for which buyers incur additional expenses, endangering the lives of passengers. 6. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers by designing a system that requires continuous and substantial expenditures without resolution because it is an engineering problem, i.e., the placement of the radar behind the large, thick plastic H emblem obstructs the radar. 7. I hereby ask that the NHTSA investigate this issue and order Honda to offer a solution in the form of a RECALL that permanently addresses the problem. Thank you for your time and reviewing this systemic issue.

The automatic braking system activates randomly when merging onto a highway if you do not have your signal activated, and cross a lane line, at the moment you merge onto the highway. I understand that it is the law that you must signal a lane change, however failure to do so should not result in the vehicle slamming on the brakes, especially when you are attempting to increase speed merging onto a highway. When this happens, it is incredibly dangerous. On [XXX] at [XXX] p.m. I was merging onto [XXX] from [XXX] in Illinois. As I was merging onto [XXX], the emergency braking system slammed on the brakes, and alerted me of a possible collision. The car behind me almost ready ended me. The roadway was free and clear. This occurred as I was passing through the lane markings from the on ramp to the expressway. I do not remember if I had my signal on. I do not have exact dates when each of these incidents have occurred, but is happened at least 5-6 times in the year that we have owned the car. There is an ongoing investigation by NHTSA for Honda's emergency braking system, which according to this article has been expanded to 2023 model years including Odyssey [XXX]). I think the investigation should be expanded to include 2024 model years as well. If any other information is needed please let me know. This vehicle has a feature that displays the posted speed limit on the dash display. The dealership, McGrath Honda in St. Charles, IL has told me this information is gathered by the camera system. Periodically the vehicle will pick up the Highway number sign and use that to display the speed limit. In the attached pictures it shows that we were driving on Highway 110 in Illinois and then the display showed that the speed limit was 10 MPH, which then changed to 110 MPH. Another example, for which we don't have pictures, was when we were driving on Highway 38 in Illinois and the display shows a speed limit of 35 MPH. When this occurred we were not familiar with the area and slowed to 35MPH which caused vehicles behind us to slow down, get very irritated, demonstrate their irritation using hand signals, etc. We resumed the real speed limit, 55MPH after we saw the next speed limit sign. We have had this inspected by the dealership, which performed a hard battery reset that did not fix the issue. The manufacturer, Honda of North America, does not wish to address this issue as ascertained via chat with them. There are no warning signs, the display changes to fictitious speed limits when the camera system picks up road signs other than speed limit signs.

My 2024 Honda Odyssey EX-L has a recurring Auto Idle Stop failure. About 1–2 times per week, when stopped at a light and Auto Idle Stop engages, the engine fails to restart properly when I release the brake. The engine sputters or shuts down, the battery warning light comes on, and the vehicle shifts itself into Park. I then have to hold the start button for several seconds to restart the engine. This creates a safety risk because the vehicle becomes disabled in active traffic when the light turns green. The vehicle was previously taken to a Honda dealer for this issue, and the battery was replaced, but the problem continues.

The start stop system has failed to restart at a busy traffic light more than half a dozen different times after a 1 hour drive. Short drives do not bring this issue out. This got me stuck at a light, drivers annoyed honking and confused as I try to get my vehicle to start again. Turning the van completely off and back on again seems to get the van to restart again. I tried bring the issue up to the dealer when I brought it in for its first service, but the employee was extremely rude/belligerent and stated they would only do an oil change when I asked for help with this safety issue among other things. Will take to another dealer next service interval and try again. No issues known or warning lights on the vehicle prior. The van when it did this, error'd stating failure to restart or something along those lines. It happened so fast I don't 100% recall. After the issue the van would have no issues or lights on at all to even think anything had went wrong in the first place. This is a 2024, purchased new, vehicle.

For the past year, the vehicle's Auto Idle Stop system has intermittently failed to restart the engine after coming to a complete stop at traffic lights. This creates a dangerous situation where the vehicle is immobilized in active traffic, posing a significant risk of rear-end collisions or other accidents. I have taken the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership for service; however, they were unable to duplicate the issue and declined to perform further repairs. As the problem remains unresolved, I am reporting this incident to the NHTSA to contribute to the official record of safety concerns regarding this feature in Honda vehicles.

On multiple occasions, the idle-stop function engaged at a red light and then either the entire car shut down or the computer froze for a minute or two then restarted. For each incident, we had cars behind us that either nearly hit us when we did not go forward when the light turned green or nearly hit us by aggressively going around us while we restarted the engine.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while at a stoplight, the auto idle stop feature malfunctioned, and the vehicle failed to immediately restart after releasing the brake pedal. On several occasions, the vehicle had to be shut off before restarting. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact was informed of the NHTSA Action Number: EA25004 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); and related the failure to the campaign. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 8,500.

The vehicle was stopped at a red light. This vehicle is equipped with an auto-start/stop system to save fuel. Once the red light turned green the engine refused to restart. This was the second instance. The vehicle took over 30 seconds before it would restart. None of the push-to-start buttons worked, the car would not recognize that the brake was pressed, and it had also shifted itself into park. Very dangerous while traffic was moving all around us.

I was driving my vehicle and accelerating. My vehicle suddenly braked with no warning while I was driving. I hit my left side of my head as I was not expecting this to happen. Last week, I opened my vehicle door and noticed water standing in the foot well. I didn't think too much of it until I started driving down the street and gallons of water were gushing on my feet in the footwell from behind the steering wheel and fuse box. I parked and waited for it to dry out a few days. I took my vehicle to the dealer and was shocked to hear that this is caused because the sunroof has a drainage system, and when the primary drain clogs, due to pollen or dirt, the secondary drain drains directly into the driver footwell. They advised that this is an issue that disregards vehicle age and sunroof non-use. Because this is a new vehicle, all of my basic maintenance and inspections have been provider by the Honda dealer. I asked why this had not been inspected on my previous service appointments and was told the primary drain for the sunroof can only be inspected by camera. It is only when the primary drain becomes clogged that the water dumps into the driver side footwell. I searched my owner manual and found nothing to indicate or require that the primary sunroof drain should be inspected, cleaned or serviced, at any of the maintenance intervals, and especially not during the first 2 years of ownership. The steering column, fuse box, and driver footwell house all of the necessary electrical and mechanical parts for steering, braking, acceleration, lighting and all other electrical systems controls. Additionally, if this were to happen while driving, the distraction to the driver could be catastrophic. My vehicle has been at the dealer for a week to clear the clog in the primary sunroof drain, remove the seat and carpet to dry, & inspect the electric systems including the power seat. I can make the vehicle available for inspection as needed and the dealer can provide the camera inspection that diagnosed the issue. This happened due to everyday dust and pollen, and there was no advance warning that this drain failure was imminent.

Automatic Idle Stop function fails. The car idles down while at a stop and then the entire car will shut off and fail to restart. This occurs frequently at stoplights, stop signs, in traffic or any time the vehicle idles down. The car fails to restart right away resulting in multiple attempts to start the engine and poses a danger to occupants in traffic.

I am writing to formally report and complain about a serious safety issue I am experiencing with my Honda Odyssey related to the Auto Idle Stop feature. While the vehicle is stopped and Auto Idle Stop is engaged, the engine unexpectedly shuts down and, in some cases, does not restart properly when I attempt to accelerate. This has occurred after normal driving and also immediately after refueling. When the issue happens, the vehicle loses power completely for several seconds, creating a dangerous situation—especially in traffic, at intersections, or while making turns. This issue is not only inconvenient but also a significant safety concern. A delayed or failed engine restart can easily lead to accidents, particularly when quick acceleration is required. I understand that Auto Idle Stop is designed to improve fuel efficiency, but it should never compromise vehicle safety or reliability. I am aware that other Honda Odyssey owners have reported similar problems, which suggests this may be a known or widespread issue. I would like Honda to: Acknowledge this problem as a potential safety defect Investigate whether this issue is related to the Auto Idle Stop system, fuel system, battery, starter, or engine control software Advise whether there is an official fix, software update, recall, or service bulletin addressing this issue Provide guidance on how Honda plans to resolve this problem permanently Please let me know the next steps to have my vehicle properly inspected and repaired. I expect Honda to take this matter seriously, as it directly affects driver and passenger safety. I look forward to your prompt response

When driving with or without the cruise the word BRAKE appears and the van taps it breaks automatically even when there is no reason to do so. There is no vehicle in front or anything on the road to be detected. It occasionally happens when there is a vehicle in the oncoming lane, but happens more often when there are no other vehicles close enough to be detected or cause me to need to slow down. It has been happening for some time now, but I did not know how to report it.

I have had multiple issues with the radio (16000 miles). After many personal videos dealership was able to fix one of this issues with a new part (22000 miles). I was informed the other issues I was having with the radio was due to my battery not staying fully charged. I was also having issues with the van not starting right away, which made me feel I could get stranded. It took many attempts to get the van to start. The van also wouldn't let me reverse one time, with a message telling me to place van in park. Another issue is the van is very slow to restart from auto idle shut off. The transmission is slow to change gears in lower gears and the van jerks a little bit. Next my rotors were warped. I was informed by the dealership that there was nothing wrong with my transmission and the auto idle down was working properly. NO one could explain the rotors being warped. They reshaped my rotors and replaced the battery and told me they hoped that fixed the problem. Well indeed it did not fix the problem. As of 12/27/25 the van completely shut off at a stop sign and again on 12/28/25. The issue is only getting worse (24,000 miles) and now I am scared to death that the van will stop while i am driving. The dealership has been contacted and I am waiting on a call back for a loaner car. I was in traffic and was extremely worried about my safety, as well, the safety of others around me and with me. ( Side note I returned the van to another dealership soon after the first dealership performed work on the van, when I heard a metal on metal sound and what sounded like a bolt rolling around in my back brakes. They did not find anything wrong but were also puzzled by the rotors already being warped. I was afraid to make the trip to the orig dealership). I have recently gotten a video of the brakes scraping again. This van is causing a lot of safety issues for my family.

When using the sensor-controlled, automatic wipers the lane keeping assist is silently disabled when the wiper speed switches to high. There is no warning or explicit notification of this other than the dashed lane markings indicator becoming "empty". There should be some on console warning that is more substantial so the driver knows they cannot rely on lane assist steering during this time.

Subject: Urgent Safety Concern: Driver Side middle Seat Belt Malfunction I am writing to report a serious and distressing incident involving the driver-side middle seat belt in our Honda Odyssey van. While parked, the seat belt became stuck and tightly wrapped around my [XXX] son. Despite trying all possible options, including turning off the engine and shifting to park, we were unable to release the belt. After struggling for 45 minutes, we had no choice but to cut the seat belt in order to free the child. The experience caused significant panic and distress to my child and was extremely dangerous. This raises serious safety concerns. Please let me know immediately: •If this is a known issue or part of a recall. •What steps Honda is taking to address this. •Whether it is safe to use the vehicle until this is resolved. We are extremely concerned and would appreciate your urgent attention to this matter. Sincerely, INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I believe something is wrong with the electrical system tied into the infotainment system of the car, which displays the radio, heating, cooling, shows the rear camera controllers, as well as some fo the lighting in the sport L is not fully lit, for example where the shift gears is there a light that goes across the front, mines if red, only 1 side is actively turninig on, but the other side is off, at time the display become unresponsive, meaning no matter what I select nothing is displayed I only get the main screen that shows the FM/AM, CAR PLAY, Andriod Auto, Setting etc, when this happens and when the screen flickers the radio does not turn on, no sound is heard, I can turn on/off the ac, but can control where the air flows, or changing some basic settings, at times the rear camera will not work as well. I have videos of this for my records, and I did report this directly to Honda, but they indicated there is no recall for the infotainment system, I previously had a 2021 Odysessy and there was a recall for soemthing very similar, not sure why they would continue to use the same system in the newer vechiles, clearly something is wrong here, so I am documenting this for my records, but I believe Honda needs to step in and correct this issue before other electrical problems occur and someone gets injured

My car is experiencing the starting issue that is listed as auto start/stop feature. However, since I almost always have the AC on or start/stop disabled because the car will not start when hot after a few stops and was scared it would do it in traffic. So far I can get it started again but need to completely turn car off and try again, sometimes more than once. Had been going on for a year and the dealer has replaced battery then the next services said nothing wrong. Now the car is out of warranty and the starting issues getting worse and have finally found online that others are experiencing similar issues. I have forgotten to turn off start/stop a couple times and been stranded in traffic as well when car auto stopped at red light and did not restart causing me to be stuck until i could get it restarted.

Visibility/Wiper1 queja

While driving on a highway in California we heard a bang above our heads followed by a cracking sound. I knew immediately that the sunroof exploded based on reading posts about it in a Facebook Odyssey owners group. Fortunately the interior slider/shade was closed and no glass fell on us. There was nothing above us to fall on the roof. There were no cars on front of us to kick up road debris, nor did we see anything airborne. The road was flat and smooth. The temperature was in the low seventies and had not changed in the previous hour. There is no discernable reason the glass would just shatter. We used duct tape to attempt to hold the glass together to 1) keep it out of the passenger compartment 2) weatherseal the car as precipitation was forecasted. We proceeded on our trip and stopped in Flagstaff, AZ. It was disturbing to find out that we had to purchase the glass from a Honda dealer and have it installed by a commercial auto glass business as the dealer doesn't do glass installation. It is ridiculous that I lost a day of travel to a problem that has been around for over a decade with NHTSA reports and a class action lawsuit about the poor quality of Honda sunroofs.

There was a slow leak in the left rear tire overnight while the car was parked in driveway. In the morning the low tire pressure indicator light was on in the car. I drove the car to the Honda dealer to fill the tire with air. Overnight while parked in the driveway the tire leaked again and in the morning there was a low tire pressure warning again. I left the car with the Honda dealer and they couldn't find anything after testing the tire so they replaced the vale stem, Schrader valve and tire bead seal. On 2/27/2024 Honda found a pinhole leak in the sidewall of the tire. Honda customer service informed me to contact Bridgestone/Firestone. The tire will be inspected by a Firestone owned tire center and I am waiting to hear the solution Firestone will offer.
