I had brought my Honda Accord into Honda of Muskogee to have the touchscreen looked at for ghost touching while the car was still under warranty. On the very first visit, the morning I brought it in the temperature was low and it was nice outside and they could not reproduce the issue. They also did not complete the oil change properly on my car, nor rotated the tires, they also mangled the nuts that hold the positive battery post down. This was on a brand new car when it happened. Fast forward to 2026, my manufacturer's warranty is expired. I have contacted Honda Corporate probably 3 times to see if they would honor the warranty on my factory unmodified radio that came with the car. I advised them I wanted any other dealership that is certified to do the work, besides Muskogee. That location has a vendetta against me now because I am reporting them for stealing people's money and not doing the work their customers paid for. Their customers are ASKING for work that they pretend they have no idea about. PROBLEM: The digitizer is failing due to bad parts/delamination of some sort, it causes frequent ghost touching which can disrupt important safety information on the screen such as navigation data on a fast highway. It also ghost touches and turns off the HVAC system so the microphone can hear you, in the summertime this is incredibly dangerous as you cannot bypass it to ensure you stay cool in a heat wave if the radio keeps doing this. I am afraid this distraction is either going to cause myself, or anyone else with a 2022 Honda Accord that - for whatever reason they have NOT issued a manufacturers' recall for defective digitizers. This radio has done this practically the entire time I have owned the car, I am so upset with it.

Ghost touch/tapping on my radio display. Screen is malfunctioning as if someone is tapping the screen when no one is touching it.
NHTSA #11743393
While driving at 50 mph, the infotainment touchscreen began experiencing severe ghost touches, where the screen acts as if it is being repeatedly tapped by itself. The system rapidly cycled through menus on its own, making random phone calls via Bluetooth and changing the navigation map coordinates while I was in motion. This created a massive visual and mental distraction as I try to mute or stop the erratic behavior. Also When putting the vehicle in reverse, the phantom touches freeze the screen, blocking the backup camera feed entirely. The problem is worse on hot days. The dealer stated it is a known hardware delamination issue but I was told honda corporate told them not to replace it as the issue will re-occur do to their hardware malfunctioning. This is an extreme safety hazard and a distraction while driving. I am submitting this complaint to get honda to resolve this issue.
NHTSA #11744765
My touchscreen is experiencing "ghost touch" per the dealership. They explained it as it refers to an issue where the infotainment screen registers random taps or clicks on its own. It is highly distracting as the screen beeps consistently and blinks randomly. I have 3 young drivers and see this as a big distraction. The dealership said Honda recommended not replacing it as they are fully aware of it and the fix doesn't fix it. It's definitely not a response you want to hear while you're still paying on the car and have young drivers. I fortunately have an extended warranty and they are willing to replace it but I'm concerned that the replacement will experience the same, that is why I am filing a complaint here. I called multiple Honda dealerships and they are aware of the problem but also said Honda is advising not to replace. I have seen many complaints where Honda owners had to pay for the replacement out of pocket and that's disappointing. It sure does seem like a manufacture error and hope Honda does the right thing. I have been a Honda owner for over 30 years but with my latest purchase and experience, I'm definitely rethinking my next purchase.

The touch screen for the radio is having ghost tapping and it is switching from the radio to Bluetooth to turning on and off by itself.

Subject: Safety Concern – Infotainment Screen Malfunction (2022 Honda Accord) I am reporting a safety-related issue with my 2022 Honda Accord involving the infotainment display system. The screen is experiencing a “ghost touch” malfunction, where inputs occur without any physical interaction. This causes the system to randomly change settings, switch screens, activate functions, and interfere with navigation and audio controls while driving. This issue creates a significant safety concern because it: Distracts attention away from the road while attempting to correct the system Interferes with navigation and vehicle settings Causes unpredictable behavior of in-dash controls The problem persists even after restarting the vehicle and has not been resolved through basic troubleshooting. [Include this if applicable: The issue has continued after a factory reset and/or prior repair attempt.] Due to the ongoing and unpredictable nature of this malfunction, I believe this defect poses a risk to safe vehicle operation. I am requesting: A full diagnostic and documented repair attempt Consideration for warranty coverage or goodwill repair Escalation of this issue as a potential safety defect Please provide documentation of this concern and any findings, as I may also be submitting this issue to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for further review. Vehicle details: Year/Make/Model: 2022 Honda Accord Mileage: 66000 I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and request a resolution as soon as possible. Sincerely, Alethea Michael

The infotainment touchscreen experiences ‘ghost touching,’ where the screen activates functions without driver input. The system randomly changes screens, activates apps, changes music/navigation, and becomes unresponsive while driving. This creates a significant driver distraction and safety concern. The issue occurs intermittently and has continued despite troubleshooting/reset attempts. Dealership acknowledged the issue as ‘ghost touch.’ Very disappointing that this isnt a recall. Having this problem not even 6 months after purchasing this car for over 30k

My radio is ghost glitching. It randomly does it. I can't listen to anything or do anything on the screen.. it keeps the whole drive. It won't allow me to upload the video. I can send it via email.
NHTSA #11739698
Experiencing ghost touches in the information screen display, with items being selected without anyone selecting them, it has started happening out of the blue this year.
NHTSA #11729462
Have had numerous occurrences of the Infotainment System having a mind of its own during the past several months. This issue has been commonly intermittent. Driving conditions, temperature, road conditions, time of day, or anything else have had an effect on when it happens or duration that it happens. I have taken my vehicle in to the Honda dealership to have it diagnosed. The dealership diagnosed the issue as "Ghost Touch" and their recommendation was to replace the Infotainment System screen. It was days after the replacement that the "Ghost Touch" happened again with the new system installed. Most recently I had the vehicle in to the dealership for the "Ghost Touch" issue. After hours of troubleshooting the dealership used their Tech Line to find more information about the "Ghost Touch" issue from Honda. The response was as follows: "Tech Line has been made aware of a false (Ghost/Phantom) touch with the display panel. This issue is under review by the vendor. As all parts in stock are affected, replacement of the display panel for this issue is not recommended at this time." As the Infotainment System becomes self aware and makes involuntary changes to maps, directories, and phone usage completely on its own and at random, it becomes a distraction to operating the vehicle in a safe manner. I called Honda Corporation to see if there was something that could be done and I was told to make sure that I went through the dealership and that they were aware of the issue. As this has become commonplace for the 2021 and 2022 Honda Accord models, that Honda has known about the issue for several years, and that there are apparently hundreds of owners of this vehicle that are having the same issue, that Honda would issue a recall or have a repair by this time. According to, and as of this date, the dealership is not aware of any recalls or repairs to this system by the manufacturer.

My dashboard is saying driver is sleepy? And my radio is changing to different modes by itself.
NHTSA #11682322
The infotainment unit for my car will randomly shift from one screen to another, beeping and flashing as it does so. It turns off maps, turns on and off the radio, etc. this is highly distracting to the driver and cannot be reset easily. Taking it to the dealership results in them telling me it’s a known issue but there isn’t a fix or a remedy for it.
NHTSA #11681018
Touch screen on console has lots of ghost-touches in warm weather operating conditions. The audio screen keeps switching from FM to USB MP3 player, and goes into settings or prompts for factory reset while driving, and without touching it. Also, Android AutoPlay navigation keeps jumping around on the map, and giving excessive warnings for next turn, without touching it. This is an EXTREME driver distraction, esp. while trying to use navigation. Local dealer was not able to reproduce in their shop on a cool day. They told me they had 12 other complaints of this issue, and no fix available from Honda, as of Oct. 2025.
NHTSA #11691443
The touch screen in my car recently has been moving on itself without me touching it. It starts glitching and going through different apps and settings without me doing anything. It doesn’t allow me to listen to music, make calls, scheme through apps etc.
NHTSA #11680811
The radio itself will start glitching out the screen would start changing by itself and making observe beeping noise as it change took it to a Honda dealership. They told me it would be a 50-50 chance if they did a warranty claim on it and that it was a possibility of the problem coming back so they did not replace the screen people been having this problem since 2020 that I read in the comments. It is a big problem as for safety while driving because it makes you take your eyes off the road because screen changing in the beeping noise . They also told me that Honda could roll out a update or a recall for it but it’s been since 2020 and nothing has happened about this situation.
NHTSA #11694621
The touchscreen will glitch nonstop and random buttons are selected. The screen will freeze so when it calls random people, cancels my directions and other inconvenient things. I have to take my eyes off the road to address it. It’s extremely dangerous as it occurs so often now. I cannot drive down the road without it glitching and stopping any music or directions I have on. It’ll turn music on even after I turn the audio off.
NHTSA #11679592
Touchscreen glitches by itself, clicking randomly on the screen and is unresponsive to touch. It started after 2 years of use after purchasing new, and has not resolved. Heat seems to make it worse. It is a safety issue as it'll click out of navigation, or become difficult/impossible to change settings.
NHTSA #11678398
Touchscreen glitches in its own. Taps all over the screen nonstop. Cannot safely put in directions to get to a location. Have to unplug my phone and use my phone screen for directions, which as a driver I’m not supposed to be on my phone. Also when it glitches it can go to my phone and call people while I’m driving, constantly have to take my attention off of driving to hang the phone up and exit the phone screen. When screen is turned off it will also turn itself back on. There is not fix to this for us only problems. Hearing lots of people having the same problem but Honda isn’t making a recall of fixing anybody’s vehicles
NHTSA #11679239
The radio/screen consistently glitches and acts like someone is pressing buttons on it when you are not. This includes turning the station, changing volume up or down, and becoming non responsive all together. If you do a simple internet search for honda accord radio glitching you will see hundreds of people with same issue; dealership has no fix to offer. This is a safety issue and should be fixed via recall.
NHTSA #11680643
the infotainment system frequently experiences phantom touches on the touch screen interface. This puts my safety at risk because it can make unwanted changes to the navigation system, audio source, or even make unwanted phone calls. Imagine driving on the road and suddenly you're calling emergency services. This problem has been reproduced by other Honda Accord owners and documented online. The only "fix" has been to have the infotainment system replaced, but it sometimes still persists even after a replacement. https://www.reddit.com/r/accord/comments/1fn6iwh/accord_is_useless_ghost_touch/ Honda has no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms. The issue just happens.
NHTSA #11681374
The infotainment system is constantly glitching, randomly pressing buttons on its own. Map system goes in and out, can't make phone calls in emergency situations. The system is a distraction and can't be used.
NHTSA #11674943
While driving, the vehicle radio jumps screens without any user input. When you try to interact with it, it freezes and locks up for a period of time, and then catches up. It is especially worse if a phone is plugged into, leading to distracted driving and a potential safety hazard. According to the dealer it’s a known problem, but Honda has no fix.
NHTSA #11673129
The infotainment system has an issue where it will randomly switch between Car play, radio, or even dial a phone number. In the middle of using navigation it will jump to a different screen then no longer allow inputs ie touch screen stop sensing what is being pressed and is unresponsive. It is a safety issue in regards to navigation. There are many reports of the above occurring on unofficial forums such as Reddit.
NHTSA #11672111
I am writing to formally report a serious issue with the infotainment system in my 2022 Honda Accord. The touchscreen consistently exhibits “phantom touch” behavior — screens change on their own, controls do not respond properly, and essential features like navigation and audio become difficult or impossible to use. This issue has persisted since at least July 2025 and creates a significant distraction while driving, compromising safety. I have not yet taken the vehicle to a Honda dealership because I was informed there would be a $190 diagnostic fee just to assess the issue. Before proceeding, I conducted extensive research and discovered that this is a well-documented and widespread defect affecting many 2021–2022 Honda Accord models. Numerous owners have reported identical issues online and through NHTSA complaints. From what I’ve found, even when the screen is replaced, the problem often recurs — and Honda has reportedly advised some customers that no effective fix is available at this time. As a customer, I find this deeply concerning. This is clearly a known issue, yet no formal recall or technical service bulletin appears to have been issued. More importantly, it directly affects driver safety — particularly when it impairs the ability to use built-in navigation, manage phone calls, or adjust vehicle settings without distraction
NHTSA #11675990
My 2022 Honda Accord has a serious infotainment system malfunction, which has persisted since at least September 2023. The touch screen exhibits "phantom touch" issues — screens change erratically, and touch controls do not respond properly. This makes in-car navigation unreliable and forces me to use my phone for directions, which is unsafe and distracting. The dealership and Honda have acknowledged the problem and indicated it is a known defect affecting 2021–2022 Accord models. However, after nearly two years, no remedy or replacement has been provided, and all parts available are apparently affected. Honda has advised against replacing the display panels at this time. I believe this issue constitutes a safety concern due to the distraction and lack of dependable navigation, and I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate and prompt Honda to provide an effective fix.

Touchscreen display has phantom touch. It changes every second and sounds of clicking touch happen.
NHTSA #11676321
The infomatic system. It seems as if it has a mind of its own. It consistently randomly changes on its own. I have several videos of this happening. When this happens as its random its very distracting as it makes noises everytime it changes to a different screen. This also effects the GPS system. It randomly turns off and on. The navigation system is able to be used as its not reliable. I have tried to have 2 dealerships look at it but they need to take time to dedicate to finding a solution. They only turn the car on for a few min then off. They have copies of my videos. Yes the honda dealer made a very little attempt at looking at it. But stated Honda does not have reports of this problem. There is no warning when the problem happens.
NHTSA #11686767
The touchscreen/head unit on my 2022 Honda Accord Sport SE (VIN: [XXX] ) consistently exhibits ghost touch behavior — the screen makes random phantom inputs while I am driving, without any physical contact. This causes the navigation to be rerouted or cancelled mid-drive, audio to change sources and volume unexpectedly, menus to open randomly, and CarPlay to become completely non-functional. This occurs every time I drive the vehicle and constitutes a significant safety distraction. I rely on GPS navigation for every drive. Honda has acknowledged this is a known issue affecting 2021–2022 Accord models but has stated no fix is currently available. The dealer has confirmed the issue and been unable to resolve it. I have opened a case with American Honda Consumer Support (Case #XXX) requesting a loaner vehicle and vehicle exchange. No recall has been issued despite this being a widespread, documented safety defect with multiple NHTSA complaints filed by other owners. NHTSA #11740179
The touchscreen display has failed and has to be replaced according to the dealership service department. This is a known issue with this generation Honda (10th generation) where the digitizer in the screen fails under heat exposure in the cabin.
NHTSA #11742035
The vehicles touchscreen system malfunctions and begins “phantom touching” buttons all over the top area of the screen. This results in excessive distractions to the driver as it attempts to make phone calls, start and stop navigation, change radio stations or source, and has loud beeping noises on each “phantom touch.” There is no way to disable the touchscreen or turn it off so each time you drive, these excessive distractions occur and the only “remedy” offered by Honda is to force the consumer to pay over $1000 out of warranty to replace the component.
NHTSA #11663352
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. The low tire pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the battery harness. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who then diagnosed a failure with the battery. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was again taken back to the dealer, who then diagnosed a failure with the battery sensor. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,000.

I purchased the Accord new and bought an extended warranty from Honda (Honda Care). My car started having intermittent glitches with the infotainment system about 8 or 9 months ago. The system experiences ghost touches, freezes up, disconnects from my phone, randomly makes calls, hangs up on calls I actually make, will not turn off. Basically, this thing controls the car's brain. I have taken the car to 2 different dealerships and gotten the same response: there is no known fix at this time. Keep in mind, Honda has know about this problem since 2019. I contacted Honda Corporation. I have spoken to them several times. The second to last time I spoke with them (7/31/25), I requested Honda buy the car back. Today Honda called and told me that my car does not qualify for repurchase because I haven't had an inordinate amount of issues with the car. They further said, as we as we have a fix they will contact me and there was nothing else they could do. Remember, they have know about this issue for better than 6 years and, according to information I gathered from the internet, it has been prevalent issue with many people. Not only is this issue a nuisance, it is a safety issue as well.
NHTSA #11678307
The infotainment system keeps flashing. It changes on its own. The radio turns off the settings are changing on the screen on there own. Without touch to screen. Ive reset the radio took it to honda to get checked the problem wasnt happening when i had the appointment so they couldnt help.
NHTSA #11661089
My infotainment screen randomly registers phantom/ghost touches while I’m driving. It changes audio sources, turns the volume up, switches screens, opens apps, places phone calls on its own (including to coworkers), and becomes completely unresponsive to my actual touch inputs. It will also jump between menus and navigation screens without me touching anything. This takes my eyes off the road and has nearly caused multiple accidents. The dealership has already replaced the entire touchscreen unit, but the problem continues exactly the same. They told me Honda uses a third-party manufacturer for these units and that there is no known fix. Honda Care also has no resolution and sent me back to the dealership, creating a loop with no actual repair path. Both Honda and the dealer acknowledge this is a known issue affecting many Honda Accord owners, but no permanent fix exists. The system makes random phone calls, changes the map and audio menus while I’m driving, interferes with navigation, and prevents me from ending calls or controlling the screen. This is a major distraction and a direct safety hazard. The defect persists even after parts replacement. I am reporting this because it is a widespread, well-documented issue that Honda has not resolved, and it has the potential to cause serious accidents.
NHTSA #11700256
The infotainment center in this 2022 Honda Accord has some sort of problem where the system constantly is changing itself from screen to screen and is constantly beeping. It is a significant distraction when driving and creates a hazardous situation. Although it is a known problem by Honda because they sent out an engineering request about this issue, they deny that there is any problem and they have no fix for this screen problem.
NHTSA #11742931
The infotainment system does ghost touches and changes settings randomly such as tpms, airbag, and maintenance settings while driving causing major distractions by also turning on and off randomly increasing and decreasing volume settings.
NHTSA #11738176
The infotainment screen is ghost touching (changing screens on it's own). If using gps from my phone that is a problem. The radio doesn't stay on at times while the screen is flipping to numerous places on it's own. I read online that many people are having this problem so it should be covered as a defect, a recall. My car is garage kept and kept very clean. I tried resetting but didn't help.
NHTSA #11723396
All of my driver warnings keep coming on, I have brought it back to the dealership mechanics three times already they said the code was showing a spark plug. I have had that changed out and the car is still doing the same thing. When accelerating or even while driving it will die I have to pull over turn the car off and restart it and it still cuts out and dies. There have been times that it wouldn't go over 55 mph. I was almost hit by a car due to it stalling on the interstate when trying to merge from a on ramp.
NHTSA #11735175
22 Honda Accord Sport. Infotainment turns on by itself and switches to random screens. When connect to my mobile via USB or bluetooth for navigation and Android auto, it does the same thing. Quite a few time, I am force to take my eyes off the road because it a major distraction. The glitch or screen switching and google voice randomly coming on forces me to take my eyes off the road in an attempt to stop it. This occurs daily
NHTSA #11693947
The touch screen keep closing the navigation map and changing applications suddenly and repeatedly without me touching it. It is unsafe as I try to bring the map back while driving because I don't want to miss an exit or get lost. Honda said there is no fix for it until now and a new screen has a possibility the same problem may happen again.
NHTSA #11703379
The infotainment system in my 2022 Honda Accord poses a clear safety risk. After 2.5 years of ownership, it consistently glitches while using Apple CarPlay: the screen rapidly and uncontrollably clicks through apps, exits navigation or changes the windows within navigation, and even turns the radio on and off on its own. In this situation, which now occurs daily, the screen freezes and is unresponsive. I have to repetitively press the screen until it responds, which can take minutes. This forces my attention away from the road, particularly as I'm trying to navigate. It is distracting, frustrating, and dangerous. And -- this issue is not isolated to my Accord. Postings in online forums commonly point to this issue with the 2022 Accord. This has not been inspected by the manufacturer and it has not been confirmed by a dealer. However, I have a recording of the screen glitching and would be more than happy to share. Thank you for your time and consideration. A car’s main screen seizing control while driving is more than frustrating — it turns vital navigation into distraction and is a serious safety concern that Honda must resolve.
NHTSA #11689863
I am submitting this complaint to formally report a recurring safety issue with the infotainment system in my 2022 Honda Accord. The system is experiencing what is commonly referred to as "ghost touching"—where the screen registers false inputs and changes functions on its own without any user interaction. This issue causes the display to randomly switch between menus, adjust settings, and even interrupt or cancel navigation while the vehicle is in motion. At times, the screen rapidly flashes through various menus or changes audio sources, which is not only distracting but dangerously diverts the driver’s attention from the road. It has even placed random calls to people as my phone's contacts are synced. This is a known issue among owners of similar Honda vehicles, and I personally had the infotainment unit replaced under warranty last year for the exact same problem. However, the issue has returned, and despite it being a documented, recurring defect, Honda is now refusing to cover the cost of repair, citing that my vehicle is no longer under warranty. I am deeply concerned that this malfunction poses a serious safety risk to drivers, passengers, and others on the road. It forces drivers to interact with the system to regain control or restore lost navigation/audio functions—often while driving—thereby increasing the likelihood of distracted driving incidents. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue further and consider whether a recall or formal action is warranted to ensure that affected vehicles are repaired at no cost to owners and without further compromise to safety. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
NHTSA #11692558
I am writing to formally express my concern regarding a persistent and potentially dangerous issue with the infotainment system in my 2022 Honda Accord. After 2.5 years of ownership, the system has begun malfunctioning on a daily basis while using Apple CarPlay. The issue presents as follows: the screen rapidly and uncontrollably cycles through applications, exits navigation, changes windows within the navigation app, and intermittently turns the radio on and off without any input. When this occurs, the screen freezes and becomes completely unresponsive. I am often forced to press the screen repeatedly for several minutes in an attempt to regain control—all while driving. This behavior significantly distracts from the task of operating the vehicle safely, particularly when relying on navigation in unfamiliar areas. It is not only frustrating, but poses a clear and unacceptable safety risk. Furthermore, this is not an isolated incident. Numerous owners have reported similar experiences in online forums, specifically related to the 2022 Accord model. Despite the prevalence of these complaints, the issue has not been formally inspected by Honda or confirmed by a dealership in my case. However, I do have video documentation of the malfunction and would be happy to provide it upon request. I urge Honda to take this matter seriously. A vehicle’s central screen seizing control during operation transforms a basic function—navigation—into a dangerous distraction. This is a significant safety issue that requires immediate investigation and resolution.

My touch screen glitches to the point where it changes stations, changes my navigation and it doesn’t fix itself at all even when I touch the screen. It’s a driving hazard especially when you are using the navigation. It just started and has been happening every time I’m driving, regardless if my phone is attached via Bluetooth or usb or not even at all now it just glitches.

Over the past year, the infotainment/navigation screen on my 2022 Honda Accord was identified as faulty by the dealership as the screen would erratically freeze or select functions on my navigation without any prompting. This occurs often when I am driving the vehicle and is an unprompted distraction that takes my attention away from controlling the vehicle or requires me to pull over to reset my navigation. The dealership validated this as a known issue and confirmed the screen would be replaced. This part has been on backorder for months with some customers waiting nearly a year. The lack of response or escalation from Honda has been concerning. The dealership is in possession of photos and videos of the faulty screen.

For the last 4–6 months, the infotainment display touchscreen on my car has been malfunctioning on nearly every drive. The screen registers phantom touches (as if multiple buttons are being pressed) when no one is touching it. Typical behavior: the audio switches from Bluetooth to AM/FM on its own, opens random menus, and then the screen freezes and becomes unresponsive for several minutes or until I turn the car off and back on. During a freeze I cannot change audio sources or select functions. This began as an occasional issue but has become more and more frequent. I have tried cleaning the screen and removed items from the rearview mirror to rule out reflections/obstructions with no improvement. Safety concerns: the malfunction is distracting and forces me to use my phone for navigation when the screen freezes and I can’t access maps through the car reliably when needed. My state has a hands-free law prohibiting touching/holding a phone while driving, so this defect creates both a crash risk due to distractions caused by the radio malfunctioning and a risk of citations for something outside my control. I contacted my local Honda service department on August 5, 2025. They stated they’ve performed software updates and even radio replacements for other owners with the same issue, but customers return with the problem, and they are not offering an effective repair at this time. I also filed a complaint with Honda today, August 14, 2025. I personally know another Accord owner with identical symptoms, and I’ve found numerous similar reports online dating back to at least one year ago. No crash, fire, or injuries to date, but the issue occurs almost every time I drive.

The infotainment system is ghosting. It changes and blanks out the screen randomly or when a phone call is received. It also will constantly beep when changing or shutting off the radio. This has been a known issue for Honda since 2017 and affects 2017-2023 Accords and Pilots. The dealer confirmed the issue through diagnostics but said Honda has no plans at this time to solve the problem. Also, the iPhone charger has never worked in the car and the Service Department at Serra Honda in O'Fallon, Illinois said there are no plans for Honda to fix the problem. These issues need to be corrected and the owners financially compensated for features that do not work and were sold to consumers knowingly by the manufacturer.

The infotainment system (radio) glitches, changes station automatically, turns-on and off, changes screen on its own and sometimes the touchscreen would not work if a screen option were selected.

Digital display (screen) is glitching by unexpectedly changing screens and performing operations by itself such as changing driving direction settings (GPS), and making phone calls while driving. The issue is not consistent, sometimes no issues are experienced for entire drive time, while other times it keeps glitching from start to finish of the drive time. There is no way to turn display off, and when glitching the display does not respond to any commands (touch screen). This sudden change of screens or performed operations take driver's attention away. The issue almost cost me an accident while driving on a highway. My wife afraid to drive the car since she does not trust its electronics now. Honda refuses to fix the issue and asks to replace the entire display unit without providing any diagnostic details on the issue also failing to provide explanation on why it is so inconsistent. If display is broken then it should be consistent...

The infotainment screen glitches out and selects options on the screen without human interaction. Whenever it starts doing this screen input disables making the screen extremely distracting while driving. During one of my trip, while I was driving on the highway, the screen started going crazy on it's own. First it cancelled my directions from google maps and kept switching out the screen to different apps by clicking on it's own. It was so distracting I had to pull over and turn off the car to reset the screen. It happens randomly so it's nearly impossible to reproduce to get it repaired under warranty.

My radio is having ghost taps. It clicks random buttons the whole time the car is on. Goes from radio to CarPlay, turns off my maps, turns off the whole radio, just constantly is making its own clicks. This has been happening for about a year. I can not add videos but would be more than happy to email them.

The head unit touch screen beings to have "ghost" touches which start basically changing everything that's available on the screen. This has led to suddenly loud music being played, navigation being moved around, etc. This causes distractions constantly as it's completely unexpected. The unit offers no way to turn it completely off so you're stuck with it doing stuff randomly. There's also no physical buttons to control any of the functions on the screen. It's basically forcing you to try to get it to stop doing random actions while you're driving.

2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Owner's Manual: It would seem that the owner's manual in this report I'm personally submitting isn't providing proper instructions to the public for changing motor oil. Motor oil is SCALDING HOT when not left to cool for long enough yet ALSO when improper gloves are used for changing the motor oil itself. Please see attachments: On page 545 where the specific title "Changing the Engine Oil and Oil Filter" begins, prior to entry number four, there are no instructions for any amount of time required for waiting for cooling the engine nor are there instructions about the heavy-duty gloves that should be used in the process of changing the oil. Entry number four states in plain language, "Remove the drain bolt and washer from the bottom of the engine, and drain the oil into a suitable container." --- This would be an EXTREMELY TERRIBLE standard to set for the public. Furthermore, there are no safety messages on either of those two pages that are specific to the "Danger", "Warning", or "Caution" safety messages that are seen towards the beginning of the owner's manual referenced above. I hope this does not resemble anything close to a wide-spread standard. In fact, it shouldn't be the standard anywhere. Please assist the public in providing proper screening for automobile owner's manuals such as these. Thank you. (Referenced incident date invalid due to data field parameters)

Hello, I am having issues with the infotainment system on my accord. It is suffering from the ghost touch issue. When this happens the car constantly makes an alert beep and then randomly starts going through the menus on the system. Here are a few of the issues that can result. Navigation changes or setting change, radio can change or even turn on or off or change inputs, the cars setting can change, it can start calls to any of your contacts including emergency #s. The only way to stop this from happening is to turn off the screen. However if the radio is on, you can not turn it off. This results in the driver constantly having to divert their attention to the radio /infotainment system from the road. It is extremely distracting and very unsafe. This is a known issue and there is no active recall. As far as I can tell this has not been fixed in replacements, simply a new version of the same radio is put into the car. I would expect that this has or will create accidents if is nor recalled. As these cars age, this will get worse for all of them. I did reach out to honda and they informed me there is no recall. Please help keep people on the road safe!

The digitizer in my car's infotainment system malfucntions every time the car is on. It changes what is showing on the screen, what is playing from the speakers, etc. The system acts like a ghost is touching it. There have been times where I am driving and my navigation map is showing, but my screen changes to a different screen, or zooms out to a completely different part of the world, not allowing me to follow the navigation guidance and causing a safety issue. This used to only happen during hot weather, but now it is all the time. It gets worse with each passing day, making the system almost completely unusable. Sometimes the audio input will cycle between am/fm/bluetooth several times in a minute. It's frustrating and distracting while driving. It is a common issue I've seen in other posts all over the internet and is reproducible if inspected.

I am deeply concerned about my safety and the safety of other drivers due to a serious and worsening infotainment system malfunction in my 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid. The system malfunctions spontaneously and repeatedly while I am driving, causing significant distraction and creating a serious risk of accident. Symptoms include the system switching between apps on its own, the radio turning on and off without any input, and the screen responding as if phantom touches are occurring. I cannot predict when this will happen and have been constantly distracted while driving. The problem first appeared approximately one year ago and has become significantly worse in recent weeks, occurring more frequently and more severely. The escalating nature of this defect is alarming and I believe it poses an imminent danger to myself, my passengers, and other drivers. This is a known defect. Honda has issued Technical Service Bulletins on this infotainment system and faced class action litigation covering 2020–2022 Honda models with this same system. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this defect and consider a mandatory recall so that Honda is required to repair this at no cost to affected owners.

, I had MY Honda dealership replace my touchscreen and head unit due to issues with ghost touches and apps switching back and forth. Once I got my car back, which took two weeks, the problems seemed to be resolved. However, after a few weeks, the ghost touches started happening again, about once a week. I was planning to live with that, given the amount of time they had my car. Now, fast forward to the present time: the ghost touches are back, and the touchscreen refuses to function 95% of the time. I had contacted my service advisor at the dealership on 5/28/26 and replied that she would get with the Service manager and shop foreman. This is ashame that a company like Honda could not stand by their product better to fix this issue that has been known since 2024.

this problem is related an Infotainment system problem. Infotainment screen turning on/off randomly, restarting unexpectedly, and autonomously switching between radio stations (e.g., AM to FM), audio sources (e.g., Bluetooth), maps, or other apps—are a well-documented problem for the 2022 Honda Accord (and similar 10th-gen models). This is often linked to faulty touchscreens, software glitches, or hardware defects. I have had the infotainment system replace less than a year ago, the problem has returned. This become a safety issue because some of the cars "Systems" are run from the infotainment center. When getting a low tire pressure alarm then refilling the tire to proper capacity, the tps cant be re-calibrated because the infotainment system is not responding to touch control.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The infotainment touchscreen is malfunctioning. It registers false inputs “ghost touches” without any user interaction. Yes, the vehicle and affected screen are available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The ghost touches cause the screen to randomly change menus, activate or deactivate features, and make it difficult to use navigation, audio, and android auto with maps. This creates distraction while driving, as I have to focus on regaining control of the screen instead of the road, putting myself and others at risk. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The issue has not yet been officially confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but it is recurring and can be demonstrated on demand. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The infotainment system has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or others. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lamps or messages were displayed. The issue first appeared recently (8/2025) and has recurred intermittently since then.

The faulty touch screen infotainment system creates an environment that is not conducive to safe driving. This specific issue is referred to as the "ghost touch" across the industry which involves the system randomly rapidly pressing buttons autonomously and producing an audible beep with every press of the button. Not only is every random beep a distraction but this issue causes drivers to attempt to regain control of the infotainment system while driving due to the fact that most drivers now rely on these systems for navigation and to abide by hands-free traffic laws. You may ask "Why don't you simply turn the infotainment system off?". Well I tried and the system turns itself back on. This creates a scenario that is equivalent to the dangers presented by texting and driving. A simple google search of 'Honda Accord Ghost Touch' will yield a myriad of results with consumers experiencing this issue and sharing the same concerns. I have audio-video recording of this issue and have spoken to the service advisor at Pearson Honda located in Mildothian, VA and they are requesting that customers pay $180 for a diagnosis of this well known issue but they do not know the exact cause or solution. Customers have had their systems reset and even had the screen replaced and the issue still occurs. This issue has been present in my vehicle for at least 3 months but has progressively gotten worse overtime to the point that driving the vehicle is intolerable as it distracts me while I'm driving and causes a great amount of frustration which also effects my driving behavior.

The screen is not working. In the middle of driving, the screen keeps changing and appears that someone is touching it, but no one is. It starts beeping, the audio switches, the GPS goes off, and will not change even when you try clicking the buttons. It is extremely distracting while driving, navigation does not respond, and interferes with the ability to focus on driving. The problem has been reproduced by the dealer, has happened to numerous other customers, and the dealers have done nothing to fix it. It has been inspected by the Honda dealership multiple times. No warning prior to failure. According to research, this has been an ongoing problem for various other people, yet there is still not a fix available for this safety issue. This is unacceptable.

11686537 prior complaint #. I want to add to my prior complaint. I have has this car going on almost a year. During the winter months there was no issues with the informatic system. Once we experienced our first 80 degree day it immediately started again. This is becoming unsafe as it causes anyone driving the car to become distracted due to the constant switching of screens. If you try and use the GPS that becomes impossible because it switches on its own causing the driver to have to take their eyes off the road. This is also resetting your setting. I had my car set to autolock and at some point it reset that and then my car was broken into and stuff was stolen from inside. The informatic system is completely unusable when this happens and is pretty much every time you use the car when the weather is over a certain temperature. I have heard some people doing things to maybe help to prevent this but I have paid for a vehicle with a long standing history of safety and quality. So I do not believe I need to alter my vehicle in any way to prevent standard equipment from operating properly.

The infotainment touchscreen/head unit in my 2022 Honda Accord Touring repeatedly registers random “ghost touches” without being touched. This defect primarily affects Apple CarPlay Maps, where the screen zooms, jumps, or changes routes on its own. On multiple occasions, it has caused me to miss turns and created distractions while driving, putting my safety and others at risk. The problem began around may 2025 and occurs frequently. There are no warning lamps or error codes. The dealer was informed but stated that there is no recall or service bulletin, and replacement would only be at the owner’s expense. This issue is widespread among Honda Accord owners, with many reporting identical ghost touch malfunctions online. Because the infotainment screen also controls navigation, climate, and audio functions, the defect interferes with essential driving controls and creates a significant safety hazard.

2022 Honda Accord Infotainment “Ghost Touch” Defect I am reporting a recurring safety defect involving the infotainment touchscreen in my 2022 Honda Accord. The touchscreen intermittently registers false inputs (“ghost touches”) without any user interaction. During operation, the screen randomly changes radio stations, switches applications, exits navigation, opens menus, changes settings, and becomes unresponsive. The issue occurs while driving and forces the driver to divert attention from the roadway in an effort to regain control of the system. This defect creates a significant distraction and increases the risk of a crash, particularly when navigation is being used in unfamiliar areas. In some instances, the screen becomes completely unusable for extended periods. My understanding is that many other 2021–2022 Honda Accord owners have reported identical symptoms, including screen replacements that failed to permanently resolve the problem. Numerous public complaints describe the same malfunction and indicate that the issue may be widespread. I believe this defect warrants investigation because it affects a driver interface that is relied upon during vehicle operation. Honda has not provided a permanent repair solution, and affected owners continue to experience recurring failures across multiple Honda models and trims. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this defect and determine whether a recall or other corrective action is warranted. Vehicle: 2022 Honda Accord

Our car, only 3 years old (2022) had a check engine light come on about a week ago. We went and had the code read, said cylinder 3 was misfiring. We replaced all the spark plugs and coils. All the lights went off and the car drove fine for another week. Then all of a sudden after driving 60+ miles, we were accelerating up a hill in very heavy traffic, and the car wouldn't accelerate. It wouldn't go more than 20-25 in a 45 as we were pulling out and we were almost hit because we couldn't go. The engine got a tad above the middle of the oil heat gauge. We had it towed. The dealership stated that it had a head gasket issue, with other issues, and that the engine block might be cracked. Currently are trying to charge us almost 7k to fix it.

On second week of February, 2026, I was driving my 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid from Elkridge, Maryland to North Beach, the car lost power with a flickering Check Engine Light on. I managed to drive between 25-30 MPH on 55 MPH Highway to my local Honda dealership. The diagnosed the lost power to HEAD GASKET failure. I did some research and found that NHTSA has issued a part collection on Head Gasket Failure on 2018-2022 Honda Accord Hybrid. The NHTSA ID: MC-11009200. I paid over $5,000 to replace the Head Gasket. I think these model years should be recalled.

The engine cylinder head developed a crack causing coolant leak, causing the coolant system to lose fluid. The leak originated from a hairline crack in the cylinder head, which has been confirmed by an independent, certified mechanic. The vehicle remained drivable initially, but a loss of coolant could lead to engine overheating, and catch on fire or smoke creating a potential safety hazard for the driver and others on the road. The vehicle was inspected at an authorized dealership at the direction of the manufacturer, which performed a teardown to diagnose the issue. After this inspection, additional engine components (timing chain and head gasket) were identified as damaged, though these failures were not present prior to the teardown. Other users facing similar leak issues were treated the same by dealership blaming other component issue and disregarding the visible crack. This defect appears to affect multiple vehicles of the same engine, as reported by other owners nationwide. Warning signs included coolant loss, which could escalate into a larger safety risk if not addressed. I have attached few user complains but if needed I can provide lot more user complaints around the nation as it is never ending.

I purchased a 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid two years ago. On multiple occasions, I have been traveling at high speeds 70-75 MPH when the orange BRAKE signal appears across the screen, and the car abruptly slams on the brake with no other vehicles around me. It forcefully threw me forward. We have had Honda vehicle in for service many times, the dealership are never able to duplicate the problem because it happens sporadically. It is extremely dangerous, and I don't ever feel safe in the vehicle, and I don't feel comfortable using the adaptive cruise control. In the past we have always owned Honda's and never ever felt unsafe. This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed quickly.

am reporting a problem with the Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking system. The vehicle has repeatedly given collision warnings and applied braking when there was no vehicle, person, or obstacle in front of me. I purchased the vehicle used in July 2023 with approximately 30,000 miles. It now has approximately 108,000 miles. Over the time I have owned the vehicle, this issue has occurred about ten times while I was driving. Four of these incidents happened recently with a passenger in the vehicle, which confirmed the issue was not driver error. In several instances, the system gave rapid warning beeps and then applied braking even though the road ahead was clear. One time this occurred at highway speed with no traffic in front of me. Another time it occurred on a lightly traveled local road with no visible hazard. The braking was sudden and unexpected. On one occasion, a leaf may have passed in front of the sensor, but the majority of incidents occurred with no visible trigger. There were no warning lights or messages before the events, only the collision alert immediately followed by braking. This behavior creates a safety risk because the vehicle can brake unexpectedly without an actual obstruction, which could lead to a rear end collision or loss of control. The problem has not yet been inspected by a dealer or manufacturer.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle independently stopped. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance warning light was blinking on the instrument cluster with an audible alert. The contact had experienced the failure four times. The contact had taken the vehicle to the same dealer for the prior independent braking failures however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer after the most recent failure, and it was determined that the Forward Collision Avoidance front sensor was misaligned. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

The contact owned a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving 68-70 MPH, the vehicle stopped abruptly, causing another vehicle to crash into the rear passenger's side of the vehicle, and a second vehicle to crash into the rear of the vehicle, causing the trunk to be pushed inside the rear seats of the vehicle. The brake warning light was illuminated. The air bags of the contact's vehicle did not deploy. The air bags of the two other vehicles deployed. The contact stated that the rearview mirror separated and hit her head, causing a concussion. Additionally, the contact sustained whiplash, PSTD, and contusions on the back and on both ankles. The contact received medical assistance. The front passenger seat occupant of the second vehicle that rear-ended the vehicle sustained hip injuries, as the occupant was still recovering from a hip surgery that she had undergone prior to the collision. It was unknown whether the passenger received medical assistance. There was no property damage. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to Crash Champions, where it was totaled. The contact hired private investigators who retrieved the EDR data and informed the contact that the emergency braking system had engaged prior to the crash; however, the contact stated that there was no other vehicle or object around the vehicle at the time the emergency braking system had engaged. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the contact was informed that special equipment was not available to diagnose the vehicle based on the EDR data. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,600.

At approximately 9:20 a.m. on November 20, 2024 while driving at approximately 27 MPH the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) on my 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid activated, bringing my car to a near halt while driving on a clear road in perfect visibility. At the time of the incident there were three pedestrians and a dog present on the sidewalk approximately 5 feet to the right of the roadway. Traffic on this particular stretch of road was relatively light at the time of the incident. No collisions occurred, and no individuals were injured. However, on a normal day there will be numerous other vehicles driving in the same lane, which would likely result in a rear end collision should this problem recur. When I would go to accelerate onto the the interstate and would hit around 67-69 MPH my car would go lazy and the engine light would come on. This happened about 3 times and then 4th time every single check engine light came on. I took it to the mechanic and he replaced the battery, but said there might still be a fuel issue. I then took it to the dealership and they said I had “bad gas” and wanted to replace the spark plugs, remove the fuel, and do a fuel treatment for 1200 dollars. I was confused on how this could happen and the dealership stated that it only takes one time, so how can I prevent it? They didn’t say and so if I spend the 1200 due to “bad gas” and get “bad gas” again I owe another 1200?

I was driving down the highway going 70 mph on my way home from work and my cars engine shut down and I pulled to the side of the road as safe as I could. Went into limp mode and I was not able to drive it home. Gave a check engine light. I had to pull the car home with a truck. I bought an OBD code reader and it was giving the code POO87. Doing research this code is for low pressure at the fuel rail. I found that this is a common problem for this car. Specifically the high and low pressure fuel pumps which currently have recalls. When searching with my VIN # It does not pull anything up. This could have been disastrous.

Vehicle displayed numerous warning lights and messages like Emission system problem and other messages on the cluster gauge. Traveling on the interstate, the vehicle would not accelerate or maintain proper speed. Turned on the emergency flashers to warn other drivers to avoid an accident. Brought it to the dealership and found code P0087 Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low and informed me that the low pressure fuel pump is bad and needs to be replaced. The vehicle is out of warranty as it has ~85k miles.

Fuel injector pump went bad o the car and it caused the dashboard to light up and the advance driver assistance systems to malfunction. Took the car to the dealer and they confirmed it was a bad fuel injector pump. I took my vehicle to the same dealer service center on 11/05/2024 and nothing suggested the fuel injector was going bad. The car runs like normal and doesn’t have any hesitation when driving. I googled the car symptoms and there are several other drivers that reported the same issue for the same model car. Honda told me there is a recall but it does not cover my vehicle.

I noticed random misfires months ago. I've replace my spark plug three times in 6 months. My coils are good, etc. It started getting worse about a month ago. It goes into limp mode and suddenly slows to 20 mph. Some days it won't start. The dash lights flash and the cars computer goes crazy it won't go over 20 mph. This is a widespread issue causing ppl to spend thousands and no fix in sight. Usually it hits between 15-90k miles. Twice I was on the interstate and it just slowed to 20 mph. I have had it at the dealer twice. They are clueless and can't do much without Honda stepping up. Honda needs to address this. My car was built in 2021 and somehow missed a major recall. It's putting stress on my catalytic converter and other parts that cost thousands to fix. I'm taking it in on Monday for the third time. If they can pinpoint it this time I'm afraid it might cost me thousands. It's a Honda and it shouldn't be having issues from 15k to 90k.

The fuel system on my 2022 Honda Accord malfunctioned and caused a sudden loss of power while my teenage son was driving. On 12/03/2025 at approximately 4:50 PM, the vehicle went into reduced-power (limp) mode while traveling in heavy highway traffic on a busy highway in a metro-area of >450,000 people. There was no shoulder available in which he could navigate onto. He was unable to accelerate and had to coast approximately one mile at low speed while many, many cars were driving around him during rush hour traffic , which created a dangerous situation with vehicles traveling at normal highway speeds. A Honda dealership has previously inspected and confirmed the problem. On 07/28/2025, the service center documented lean fuel condition, misfire codes (P0301, P0304), failed fuel-rail pressure, and injector-related faults. They recommended replacement of fuel-system components. The printed report and repair estimate are available for inspection upon request. Prior to the safety incident, the vehicle intermittently displayed symptoms such as hesitation during acceleration and irregular engine operation, but no permanent warning light stayed on. The failure has progressed over time and the same loss-of-power condition can recur at any time. This poses a risk because loss of propulsion in moving traffic can lead to a collision. The component issue has been confirmed by the Honda dealer, and documentation is attached. I am filing this report because the failure creates a safety hazard, has been reproduced by a local dealership, and has not been resolved. The repair show suggested I return to Honda for repair. Furthermore, during my research of this problem, I discovered tens of thousands of complaints from others experiencing this exact issue, including new low mileage vehicles. These complaints are available on all social media platforms and search engines, with each complaint indicating problems with the fuel injectors on engines using direct fuel injection.

Ive previously reported on here Errors I was getting, when pushing the gas, MULTIPLE all engine lights going off at once. Its like when you push the gas, the engine stallls, and then all the lights light up; The turbo charger errors; Fuel Sys 1 error; Fuel Sys 2 error; etc. The Cruise Control on does the same thing - especially if there is any type of incline. I know that MANY other Honda owners are experiencing the same and saw their complaints; I see there is now a recall, but WHY is my car NOT showing on here, when clearly it should be. Im asking for a file number and an investigation. Where can I go to get this looked at? Nobody is following up with me. I believe this is fitting Recall21V-215 or 20V-314

Both my Road Departure Mitigation and Collision Mitigation Braking System both randomly turn off and show “setting incomplete” when I attempt to put them from off to on. After 5-7 days of normal driving both systems will turn back on and thereafter work for 5-7 days before turning off once again. I have not been involved in any accidents. I’m afraid off unprovoked braking from these electrical safety support systems not working correctly causing possible serious injury to me and others and also causing me emotional mental anxiety while driving due to documentation of these issues in my specific Honda causing possible accidents due to the faulty safety support systems I’m experiencing.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. Multiple warning lights illuminated intermittently: TPMS, ABS, Traction, brake system, power steering, Uphill, and Cruise Control. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) unexpectedly triggered, and the vehicle braked without warning. The contact had no control over the steering wheel; the wheel ended up doing a 180-degree turn, and the front driver-side wheel detached. The vehicle ended up going into a ditch, where it came to a stop. No air bags deployed. The contact went to urgent care afterward, and the doctor prescribed muscle relaxers for minor back injuries. The police were called; however, no police report was filed. The tire was attached back to the vehicle, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to an electrical issue. The dealer completed a full tune-up. The dealer test drove the vehicle, and multiple warning lights illuminated. The dealer reset the system on the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that a month before the accident, while the vehicle had maintenance work done, the contact informed the dealer that the vehicle was "acting weird." No cause for the failure was found on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The electrical system on my accord and yes it will be available. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle starts to not pick up speed and eventually kills. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? By the manufacturer (dealership) on multiple occasions, I was instructed to unplug the vehicle’s battery. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, about a year and a half ago.

While driving my vehicle suddenly would not accelerate above 20 mph and warning lights all over the dash lit up (check engine, abs brake system, adaptive cruise control, vehicle stability, power steering, hill assist, and brake hold). I took it for a diagnostic, it gave a code for cylinder 3 misfire. I got a tune up the next day along with a fuel system cleaning just to be safe. After about 35 miles of driving I had the same issue 2 days after the tune up, this time no warning lights. I took it back to the shop and this time the spark plug in cylinder 4 was bad. I believe I am at the beginning of what many others have complained about with these same symptoms. This problem makes operation of my vehicle unsafe and uncertain, at any time this issue can kick in and now you are limping along at 20 mph while cars zoom all around you. Infotainmeny system receives multiple fals touches and switches to other screens and functions with no direct input from me the driver. This is very distracting and also dangerous as the issue also interfears with navigation, it will turn is off and switch destinations without any input. This issue has occured since i have had the car in 2022, it only keeps getting worse. This is a very distracting issue to have, it is unsafe and Honda needs to come up with a solution, i have seen this reported by hundreds of people online, this tells me that there are likely thousands of cars out there doing the same, but the people do not know how to report it.

infotainment system is susceptible to intermittent ghost touches. This occurs when using any functionality of the screen of the infotainment system including navigation, music playing, apple car play, and hands free cell phone calls. The screen will open up new menus on its own, end a navigation route, place cell phone calls on hold, and not respond to touches from the driver. This creates a highly dangerous situaiton while driving as the driver must take their eyes off the road to attempt to remedy constant errors and glitches with the infotainment system. Particularly troublesome are instances occurring when using navigation as the driver will need to re-input a destination that was canceled or having a phone call placed on hold mid-conversation. Navigation systems are sometimes necessary to operate the vehicle. Phone calls are no longer hands free if the driver has to look down at their phone to try and disconnect it from the infotainment system to resume the call. This requires taking your eyes off the road for an extended period of time, potentially while traveling at highway speeds. Vehicle was returned to manufacture via dealership several times to address the issue. The Dealer confirmed a defective infotainment system in October 2024 and replaced it under warranty. Due to the part being on back-order it was not replaced until March 2025. The issue continues with the newly replaced screen. The vehicle has been returned several times to the dealer since replacing the screen. Dealer claims they cannot duplicate the issue and do not know what is causing it. Opened Case #: 15316225 with American Honda Motor Co. which went unresolved after several visits to the dealer.

Honda is using cheap brake pads/rotors on their cars. I was parked and went in reverse and the brake pads started squealing so loudly, something didn’t seem right. I’ve never heard this sound before and my family hasn’t either who’ve owned many cars before. I took it to the dealership and they were able to reproduce the sound. They said nothing could be done even though the brake pads are too thick. This seems to happen when it’s humid, raining or cold. The dealership didn’t really care but this seems like a hazard. I am writing to file a complaint regarding a serious issue with my Honda vehicle involving the turbocharger system. The turbocharger appears to be failing, causing a significant reduction in vehicle speed and performance while driving. During operation, the vehicle suddenly loses power and acceleration, making it difficult and potentially unsafe to maintain normal traffic speeds. At the same time, multiple warning lights illuminate on the dashboard, indicating possible engine and system malfunctions. This issue creates a serious safety concern for both myself and other drivers, as the vehicle may unexpectedly slow down while traveling on highways or busy roadways. The condition has negatively impacted the reliability and dependability of my vehicle. I am requesting that Honda investigate this matter promptly and provide assistance in diagnosing and correcting the issue. If this problem is related to a known defect, recall, service bulletin, or warranty extension, I would appreciate being informed immediately.

This vehicle is experiencing an aggressive, heat-accelerated hardware degradation of the central capacitive screen assembly commonly identified as ghost glitching, culminating in a total crash of the primary graphic interface and touch controller hardware. While your customer service infrastructure routinely classifies display anomalies as low-priority convenience or entertainment glitches, an objective systems analysis reveals that Honda has centralized critical safety telemetry, emergency communications, and vehicle calibration gateways into a single, unbacked hardware node. Consequently, the catastrophic failure of this infotainment module directly compromises the operational safety of this vehicle, presenting an immediate, unpredictable hazard not only to myself but to the general driving public sharing the roadway. The systematic failure modes of this defect are detailed as follows: 1 Multi-Module Network Failure and Primary Gauge Cluster Blindness The failure of the central display audio unit is not isolated to an entertainment screen. It acts as a network parasite that actively destabilizes the vehicle's primary Driver Information Interface DII on the steering wheel instrument cluster. Toggling the steering wheel controls to view Audio or System telemetry on the primary driver's dash gauge results in an immediate, total blackout of the left digital dashboard display. Because the central infotainment unit's microprocessor is frozen, degraded, or locked up, it fails to respond to high-priority internal Controller Area Network CAN bus data requests from the instrument cluster. This creates a severe data bottleneck that blinds the operator to system telemetry directly behind the steering wheel while traveling at highway speeds. Furthermore, while the vehicle's secondary hardwired communication circuit allows background audio streaming and steering wheel track-skipping overrides to function, the manual physical volume controls, dashboard knob,

My display screen (infotainment) that has almost all the setting to my car on it has been glitching every single time I drive my car. It has what is being described as "ghost touch". It will just flick back and forth between all different settings to my car, turn on and off the radio and go between stations, set destinations on my maps, submitting incidents on my maps, calling my contacts, requesting voice commands which lowers the fan speed on my ac and heat when doing so and numerous other settings including how my car locks itself, rear camera setting, audio settings, it is going through everything while driving and while stationary. I believe it is a major hazard, it as startled me so many time by just randomly blasting a radio station while im driving, messing with my navigation on maps while driving, I have been distracted so many times when I should have been focused on the road but instead I am trying to stop it from changing settings, calling people, trying to cancel routes its setting on my maps and ect. The problem is a "known issue" according to the Honda dealership I bought it from and took in to look at for repair. Also I quick Google search of "2022 honda accord sport screen glitching" brings up tons of other people dealing with this same issue and there is apparently no fix for it. Honda said you can buy a new screen but it may still do it since there is no official fix for this. It drives me crazy to even drive this car and I commute to work over a hour and a half on highways with it freaking out the whole way most of the time.

This car has well known issues with the infotainment system probably since it came out and nothing has been fixed. There are constant ghost touches/glitching, especially when it gets hotter outside. Now after owning it for a year, Apple CarPlay freaks out. I’ll be listening to music and then suddenly the screen goes black. The buttons still work on the blacked out screen but nothing will pop back up. I had my dealership take a look and this is an ongoing issue with Honda. I’ve seen car forums talk about the same thing for years and nothing is being resolved permanently. This can be a distraction safety hazard. My other issue is the lane keep assist. It doesn’t detect lanes very well, especially if it’s faded or has sealed cracks. I could be driving the freeway speed limit and then the car suddenly brakes hard. I’m lucky no one was directly behind me when these incidents have happened or else I would’ve been rear-ended. Safety hazard for both complaints.

I purchased a 2022 Honda Accord Sport 2.0 in 2023 with less than 100 miles at the time of purchase. To this day it has 15,005 miles, I comply with recommended maintenence, however the car has been trying to kill me. I purchased Honda Care along with numerous other extended warranties. Mind you I paid for the ENTIRE car in cash. While driving, the car randomly slams on the breaks when no one is on the street and it also does in the middle of traffic. There have been several instances in which I have almost been rear ended because the vehicle slams on its breaks without notice. This happens even when the break assist is turned off. I turn it off everytime I start the car but it turns itself back on while the car is motion. One morning on my way to work there were no cars (5am), there was nothing in the road and the RED BRAKE DASH LIGHT Flashed then the car slammed on the brakes. I was traveling about 45-50 mph and the car abruptly stopped. I sustained multiple bruises from the seat belt shoulder strap and lap belt. I have previous chronic back issues that were aggrevated by this incident. I am still under a physicians care for my back issues (unrelated) but I do believe this occurrence aggrevated these issues even more. I did not want to make a huge deal out of this however the vehicle continues to slam on the brakes without notice and I am fearful that I will injure myself, my grandson, or someone else as a result of a defective vehicle. I took my car to Honda today 1/14/2026 and they were absolutely no help. There was no consistency when I was told how they could diagnose the problem & no time frame was given. There is nothing I could have done in order to make your automatic breaking system fail when Honda is the only one that does work on my car. I requested to speak to the GM Curtis Hensley and that request was ultimately denied. Honda care said the dealership could loan me a vehicle and the dealership said I had to rent it plus pay $180 diagnostic fee.

I am reporting two safety-related issues with my 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid. 1. Head Gasket Failure At approximately 93,500 miles, the head gasket failed without any prior warning signs. The vehicle had been regularly maintained at Honda dealerships, with one service done by a third-party mechanic around 87,000 miles. There were no engine warning lights or coolant leak warnings before the incident. The engine temperature warning suddenly appeared while driving, and I immediately stopped the car. A Honda dealership confirmed the head gasket failure and quoted over $4,000 for repairs. This kind of major engine failure is highly unusual for such a new vehicle and raises serious concerns about long-term engine durability or possible design flaws in the cooling system or head gasket components. 2. False Activation of Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) The vehicle’s automatic emergency braking system frequently activates or issues a warning while driving, even when there are no obstacles or vehicles nearby. This has happened multiple times and creates a sudden sense of panic, increasing the risk of being rear-ended or losing control of the vehicle. Both issues suggest potential safety defects in this model. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate whether similar complaints have been reported for the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid, as these failures could pose significant safety risks.

While driving down the interstate the car lost power. The engine would continue to rev, but the car was not receiving power and was unable to accelerate. As this happened on the interstate where vehicles travel at high rates of speed, this was a safety concern because the car suddenly lost power. No lights lit up on the dash indicating a problem. The problem is with the Infotainment system. It was replaced once under warranty but is again malfunctioning. The infotainment system controls some critical features of the vehicle. Resets both hard and soft do not work. Removing the negative battery cable doesn't work. Note that research shows many Accords and other models are effected. It also seems the manufacturer is aware of the situation and doing nothing to correct it. This is a safety issue. If it were just the radio effected, I really would care. But because the cars systems rely on the infotainment systems, its a concern. Symptoms are : Freezing & Crashing: The screen becomes unresponsive or shuts down unexpectedly. Phantom Touches: The screen registers touches that aren't happening, selecting things randomly on its own. Audio/Radio Malfunctions: Stations changing or Bluetooth disconnecting. System Restarts: The unit turns off and on by itself, even after the car is off.

Purchased 2022 Honda Hybrid Touring new rear tires with only 32000 miles completely destroyed by cupping to the interior started noticing significant wobble to rear on highway. Many forums discussing this issue with other Honda Accords this could result in a blow out at speed, many forums people have replaced tires some up to three sets a year somethings wrong and this could result in a fatal collision if left unsolved. I am diligent with tire inflation pressure and inspecting tires this is concerning have not seen tires wear out this fast. Has to be a rear suspension defect for many people to be experiencing this all you have to do is google the issue.
