My 2019 Ford Fusion has been diagnosed with the prominent EcoBoost Coolant Intrusion defect requiring a newer 2020+ redesigned engine replacement. Ford is refusing to replace it or provide any discounts even though it's clearly a engineering defect. The vehicle has just 38,500 miles in 7 years of ownership. It has been regularly well maintained & not driven hard. This is inexcusable that Ford is not standing behind their product that has a plethora of well documented failures on these particular flawed design engines, namely the 2.0L EcoBoost that came in this vehicle.
NHTSA #11745376
2019 Ford Fusion with 82,362 miles- just told engine coolant leaking into the cylinder walls and engine replacement is needed. Dealer said Do not drive it! This is a known problem with this model and Ford has not recalled it. Ford is aware and have sent TS Bulletins to their service departments but why NOT recall. My daughter’s safety has been at risk and now the value is worthless Or an engine replacement. I cannot reach any leadership from Ford, just a call center which is telling me nothing can be done.

Misfire due to cracked cylinder wall letting coolant leak into the cylinder in the 2.0L turbo
NHTSA #11743420
This vehicle is another of many that is suffering from coolant intrusion due to Fords faulty design. This 2.0 has 68 thousand miles and needs a new engine. This has been a known problem for this engine between 2013 and 2019. We were sold a new car that would be reliable for years, it’s not. Now we may be out upwards of $10,000.00 for a car we just paid off a year ago.

Dealer diagnosed coolant intrusion into cylinder 2, confirmed through a pressure test and borescope inspection. The dealer referenced TSB 19-2346.

Coolant intrusion, motor destroyed by coolant due to faulty ford design
NHTSA #11727621
Coolant leaking into cylinders on my 2019 Ford Fusion 1.5L EcoBoost—white smoke, rough idle, and wont start now. Ford's 21N12 program expired before I could get it fixed. Tons of owners report the same; it's a safety hazard.
NHTSA #11721848
The vehicle experienced engine failure due to coolant intrusion into the cylinders on a 1.5L EcoBoost engine. Symptoms included coolant loss, engine misfires, rough running, check engine light, and eventual engine failure requiring engine replacement. The problem has been confirmed by Ford and is consistent with the known coolant intrusion defect affecting many Ford 1.5L EcoBoost engines. Ford issued Customer Satisfaction Program 21N12 for certain affected vehicles due to this exact issue. The vehicle has approximately 76,000 miles and is under the mileage limit referenced in Ford’s program, but Ford denied full coverage and only offered partial financial assistance toward the repair. This issue creates a serious safety concern because the engine can lose power, misfire, overheat, or fail unexpectedly while driving. The failure appears to be caused by a defect in the engine design allowing coolant to enter the combustion chamber. I believe this is a widespread defect and should be covered for all affected vehicles experiencing coolant intrusion and engine failure.
NHTSA #11738881
Coolant intrusion into cylinder #2 in my 2.0L Ecoboost engine. This gives a rough engine start and a misfire code for cylinder #2 on cold starts. After warmup, the engine code is not active and misfire goes away when the coolant is burnt and sent through the exhaust. This also caused the car to overheat as the coolant was dropping to a low level. There was no indication of the low coolant level until the overheating.

Coolant intrusion in engine per a diagnostic visit my local ford dealership on 1-30-26 , on my 2019 ford fusion apparently a known issue problem on the ford fusion

Vehicle has a known Ford 2.0L EcoBoost coolant intrusion / head gasket defect per multiple complaints on different forums on recently googled searches. At approximately 126,000 miles, vehicle began losing coolant with no visible external leaks, producing white smoke on startup, rough idle/misfires, and check engine light. Vehicle also began overheating intermittently. Heating system stopped working, indicating coolant flow failure. Symptoms are consistent with internal coolant intrusion into cylinders due to head gasket failure, a widely reported defect in Ford EcoBoost engines. Issue presents a safety risk due to potential engine failure while driving, loss of power, and overheating. Vehicle requires major engine repair or replacement. This failure occurred despite regular maintenance and appears to be a premature engine defect, not wear and tear. I was recently at the dealership on December 8th with no other issues detected after they replaced a part on my car that failed that I had to pay for ( a P175B-00 ). This had nothing to do with what is going on currently, they ran tests at this dealership and did not detect anything as of December 8th. This was at a ford dealership. Tests were ran and inspected by manufacturer. Fast forward to a week ago I started having the above symptoms and this was diagnosed by family-friend auto mechanic. I have had multiple issues with this car. The transmission blew at 50 thousand miles, the sun roof leaked ( the seal for the sunroof was defective) into my prnd control shifter causing thousands of dollars in damage, a P175B-00, causing my car to not be able to park, causing chaos for weeks. I have only owned this car since December 2020. I still owe 7 thousand on this vehicle and I am at a complete loss. I really just want ford to take accountability for this make and model as it never fits the guidelines for recalls on anything. I want justice for myself and others with these multiple issues coming from ford cars.

Engine coolant intrusion in cylinders 2 and 3. This is a known issue with my particular build of car (4 cylinder 1.5L eco boost engine)
NHTSA #11688035
Internal coolant leak into cylinder heads causing overheating and engine failure. dealer confirmed diagnosis in writing. this matches ford TSB 19-2346, but ford refuses coverage since over 100k miles. This creates a safety hazard; vehicle overheats suddenly and can stall while driving.

Purchased vehicle unknowingly part of program 19B37 that had not been completed. Coolant has leaked into the engine and now need s new engine. Does not qualify for service action 21N12 since original satisfaction program 19B37 was not completed and now past mileage. Now the vehicle needs an entire engine! Still owe on the car, warranties have all expired. Engine must ne replaced due to the reported coant defect that I was not made aware of at purchase. Good should fix this!

Yesterday, [XXX], I was driving my vehicle on [XXX] in rural Kansas, to drop my mother off at the airport, and my [XXX] daughter was in the vehicle. My vehicle's temperature went directly to warning status, and I was no longer able to accelerate. I immediately put my hazards on and tried to make my way to the nearest exit to ensure we were in a safe position. Ford knows that coolant intrusion is possible in the engine block. While discussing with Ford today on the phone from 11:07 AM until 11:34 AM, and being escalated to a supervisor, they said that nothing could be done on their end, and advised to contact NHTSA. The safety of myself and others was at risk because of the faulty manufacturing of the engine and coolant system, which they report is part of a customer satisfaction program, but this is a major safety concern because, in the event it was not midday and there were more vehicles on the road, there could have been an accident. Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 21N12 One-time repair for vehicles included in 19B37 This is a known issue Ford recognizes through their customer satisfaction program. They are unwilling to assist, although in 2022, I was under the mileage specifications included in the customer satisfaction program. My car is part of a recall with Ford Motor Company - customer satisfaction recall 21N12 - I HAVE A COOLANT LEAK WHICH CAN CAUSE FIRE, and dealership refuses to help because my VIN number doesn"t show up as being affected. However in a letter mailed out by Ford Motor Company it states my vehicle is in fact covered under the saftey recall.. original recall letter was for 2013-2028 ford fusion ecoboost engines. Ford mailed out another letter saying that some 2019 models will experience same issue due to having the same engine. Ford did not mail out letters to 2019 owners for this recall. according to the recall , my car was built at the same plant and same time. I need my VIN number somehow attached to this recall so my dealership can do what is right. Fryer Ford in Ahoskie, NC refuses to help and I do not want to risk driving something that can catch fire. Please tell me what I need to do or verify that my car is in fact part of this recall. Thank you for any assistance in this matter

The contact called on behalf of his girlfriend who owns a 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact stated that while his girlfriend was driving 70 MPH, the automotive power was reduced. The message "Pull Over" was displayed, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The driver immediately pulled over and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer to be diagnosed, and the dealer advised the contact that additional diagnostic testing was required to determine the cause of failure. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

A check engine light came on and our mechanic ran diagnostics to find that there was antifreeze leaking. He said it could be the head gasket but we needed to take it to Ford dealership. We took it in and were told that it is indeed leaking coolant into cylinder due to a crack in the cylinder wall. I am the original owner and have kept up with all maintenance in the 6years I have owned the car. I was told that Fors is “aware” of these issues.

Coolant leakage (no warning light/alert for driver) cause significant damage to engine block. Damage lead to cylinder misfiring and oil leakage. Oil leakage/check engine light occurred same day, prompting scheduling service at Ford dealership. Ford service center states short block needs replaced and car is not safe to drive. Upon research, this is a known issue for this make/model/year and has an open customer satisfaction program that covers the cost of repairs. However, both service center and Ford Customer Service state this vehicle's VIN number is not included in the repair program, despite acknowledging this is the same problem addressed in the repair program. Ford Customer Service recommended submitting this problem and the car's VIN to NHTSA for possible inclusion in the outstanding recall.

In 2020, I received a notice from Ford that my 2019 Ford Fusion had a Customer Satisfaction Program repair. I took the vehicle to an authorized Ford Dealer in April of 2020 to have the repair completed, which to my knowledge was completed by the service technicians at Ford. Today, my car broke down while I was traveling to work. I was able to get it to an authorized Ford service dealer and they informed me that my engine was going to need to be replaced due to coolant leaking into the engine. According to Ford, they are not willing to help with the cost of fixing the engine, since my mileage is past what is stated on the CSP notice, even though this was supposedly fixed 5 years ago, way before the mileage that was required and the car was still under warranty. Now, I'm stuck trying to figure out how to pay for a new engine, when Ford knew about this issue and is unwilling to help their customers even when they do the right thing.

coolant intrusion in engine with less than 7 years of life and under 84k miles. wont replace engine with the program because it didnt get the pcm update beforehand. Never got a letter for it and my vin doesnt say im apart of the program even though my car was build in the time frame and plant that they had this coolant intrusion issue.

The car would periodically have white smoke coming out the exhaust I assumed it was bad gas and then all of a sudden it just had a ton of white smoke ended up being the the head gasket to the small block was bad and defective and Ford knew about it and did nothing about it. There was a safety performance alert, which I did not receive. The car is only six years old and I just paid it off.

Ford 2.0L EcoBoost engine. 2017-2019 Fusion. Also, in 2 other Ford and Lincoln models. I bought 2019 Fusion used and car has just under 69000 miles. Due to a known engine defect there can be coolant intrusion into a cylinder. In my case #2 cylinder. See TSB # 22-2229 from Ford. Check engine light came on. took to dealer and replaced 1 ign coil and 4 spark plugs. Thought issue resolved until check engine light came back on. Returned to dealer and advise that engine needed replacement. If continued to operate engine could lock-up while driving thus creating a safety for myself and others on the highway. Ford knows of this defect caused by their design of the block.
NHTSA #11656634

Coolant is intruding into the engine, with no sign of a leak. There was a TSB 22-2229 issued that my car falls under, but ford claims they are not at fault to pay for it. This was a manufacturing error, and was at no fault of my own. My car has less than 60k miles on it. A check engine light came on for cylinder 3 misfire. There was no warning signs that an engine failure was occurring. The car is not driveable as it could overheat at any moment.

Took my car to get looked at due to car overheating, jerking and smoke coming from muffler within a few weeks turns out air coolant leaking into engine. Had to get new engine paid $5,500.
NHTSA #11625937
The vehicle is having issues with not starting, white smoke coming from exhaust, multiple misfire issues, can not accelerate as car lags out in power. I had a mechanic do some diagnostic testing on it and he confirmed coolant is leaking down into the motor and the engine block is cracked. It currently is not drivable. Engine light started to come on and said it was the coil packs misfiring we changed them and it did not fix the issue. Put a brand new battery in as well and still won't start often. I have reported this to a law firm handling the case against Ford for this known issue. I have kids and do not feel safe putting them in this car as it is unreliable that could cause us serious injury.

Faulty Head Gasket causing coolant to go into the engine - and causing enough issues to need engine replaced - ford mechanics saying they are seeing this more and more with my make and model car. Called ford motor company and unwilling to help with repairs as I’m 3,000 miles over the ability to assist. This apparently was a known issue in which why ford change how they made the head gaskets for the car - my car is 5 years old and 103,000 with no other issues - maintained correctly- and ford knows abt the issue but won’t help customers I currently have a rental as I’m trying to come up with $8,000 to repair my car in which why I have no invoice yet

The wrench light came on and a warning stating "SHIFT SYS FAULT Service Required" showed. The dial shifter would automatically go back to "P" after shifting to "R" or "D." At first it would drive but would not go in reverse. My daughter had driven to work and the car stalled just as she was leaving the parking space, but lurched a few times as she tried to figure out the problem. If she had been on the street, this could have caused an accident. I bought a replacement part (Transmission Shifter Bushing Transit Connect) from a Ford dealership and fixed the problem. The cap and connect had disintegrated. The wrench light went away and the car was fine for two months. The part disintegrated again today. The car has not been inspected by any representatives.

Coolant leak issue that caused the check engine light to turn on. This defect is present within these 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrids with EcoBoost engines. My safety and the safety of my passengers was put at risk since this defect can cause coolant to leak into the cylinders, leading to corrosion, misfires, engine failure, and even potential car fires. My mechanic gave it a diagnostic check and the following issues were detected: Random Misfire Detected- Not Current DTC, Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected- Warning Lamp On, and Misfire Detected on Startup (First 1000 revolutions) - Pending DTC. He also noted that the coolant level was low. I reached out to my local Ford service department and they wouldn't assist me with this serious concern.

I purchased the car from countryside dealership. The car had a roaring sound going on which I thought was to do either the tires. I took it back 3 days later because that’s the o ky appointment they had . They told me it was possibly my transmission not my tire at all! Definitely got a second opinion and it was both wheel bearings. Fast forward a couple months the car starts acting weird running like it’s almost out of gas just real bad idling. Took it back it was nothing they said then it just starts running hot my coolant is gone and now my car has a blown engine and I have no way to prove this is a recall defect besides it’s the same mechanical issues that the other fusions have recalls on ! I know this is a long shit but could my car be inspected to prove a recall s missed on my year or what can I do I have no way to replace this motor and I’m still makin the payments every month and it can’t even be driven

My son purchased a 2019 Ford Fusion on 11/30/2019, he is the only owner of this vehicle and did oil changes regularly. On 6/25/24 while driving to work his engine suddenly began running rough and his check engine light started blinking. There was no continuous check engine light that came on prior to the blinking one. The vehicle ran smoothly without any warning signs of engine failure prior to this incident. He pulled over immediately and car was towed to local repair shop. Inspection report states “ Quote for new engine and repair was $10,681.62. Placed telephone call to Ford customer relationship center, was told Customer Satisfaction Program 21N12 would not cover cost of repair because his car was over allowed mileage. 84000 is cutoff and mileage on his car was 84354. Repairs not done at this time due to cost, car is sitting in driveway unusable.

This vehicle has a known issue by Ford. In Ford TSB 22-2229 it acknowledges "P0300, P0301-P0304,P0316, P0217, P1285 and/or P1299 stored in powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to coolant intrusion into the cylinder. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the long block engine assembly." When explained, it states that this issue could cause reduced engine power which obviously be a very dangerous situation if the vehicle is traveling at highway/interstate speeds. The replacement of the long block engine assembly is a complete engine replacement that Ford is not assuming responsiblity for either from a safety or cost standpoint. We are regularly receiving these diagnostic codes now and a recent diagnosis from a Ford dealership confirmed the need for a long block engine assembly replacement which is extremely costly and right now is cost prohibitive, especially for a vehicle that is only 5 years old and has less than 100,000 miles on it.

My car started running funny and overheating which took it to the dealership where we purchased it from and they said that the coolant was leaking into the engine which we had to take to ford also to confirm and they said they same thing but wasnt covered under warranty. There is a tsb bullentin on all kinds of fusion to have this problem fixed which my vin number isnt on that list so Im without a car for over 9 months because I cant afford to spend 8000 on a engine when the car isnt that old and I just paid 24000 dollars for it. I would love to know how to get my car on list because it was manufactered at the same plant as the other fusions with tsb and on the same dates so why isnt my car on this list

When driving all of a sudden I feel the car loose power as I accelerated the car just reeved up and slowed down to a full stop. I put it in park turned it off sat for a few minutes. Restarted the car and put it in drive the engine RPM made a reving sounds but did not engage. I had to wait for a tow truck. When the tow truck arrived he started the car and drove it on the ram and locked it in and drove the car to my home. Tow truck driver unlocked my car and drove it off the bed of his truck. The car starts and that is it. It will dive a few feet then disengage.

Hello, The car has 55000 miles right now, It has shifting problem from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear. I dropped it at the Ford Dealership (Koons Ford Woodbridge, Woodbridge, VA 22193). The Dealership informed me that the vehicle is not covered Under and warranty or Customer Satisfaction Program. The symptoms on my vehicle are same as of Bulletin 22N12, the manufacturing plant is also the same as mentioned in bulletin 22N12, but neither the dealership nor the Ford Customer Service is helping me out. The dealership told me to get the vehicle repaired first and wait if the vehicle ever falls in the warranty and I will be reimbursed. If am looking for help to resolve this matter. Thank you

I purchased my car at 36, 380 miles and at 51,380 my torque converter has failed.Shift solenoid b stuck on. My warranty has expired in February. My car was well taken care of and should not have been damaged. Ford needs to fix this issue immediately. This is unacceptable.

The 6F35 transmission in BOTH of our Ford vehicles that we drive daily for work and school. The Ford Fusion is currently in the shop, but the Ford Escape is available for inspection. My safety was put at risk as my Fusion suddenly, without warning, stopped accelerating in the middle of a 2 lane highway, very unsafe. My daughter's Escape is putting her safety at risk because she has the same 6F35 transmission, the car is still "drivable" at the moment but not safely drivable, with the rough shifting between 2nd-3rd gear, the slow acceleration and sometimes won't go into gear, her safety is at risk. Like MANY other Ford owners with this transmission, the car will end up breaking down and needing $5000 in repairs. Yes the issue has been reproduced by the service center. No, Ford has not reached out to me, I have left 7 messages without any return calls, I have sent multiple emails that were returned to sender. There were no warning lights, messages or problems on the Fusion prior to this happening. I own two Ford cars that are both undrivable, I cannot get to work, my daughter cannot get to work/school. Ford is VERY aware of this transmission issue but will not issue a recall. Also at times when I put my Fusion into drive, from reverse, the backup camera would stay on for a few minutes which makes driving very hard/confusing and very unsafe. Ford needs to take accountability and issue a recall for vehicles with this defective transmission instead of ignoring the issues and telling buyers their vehicles are reliable.
NHTSA #11664815
I am reporting a serious safety defect involving the transmission system of my Ford Fusion, specifically related to the valve body and torque converter. The malfunction of these components causes sudden, unpredictable surges or lunges in acceleration, even when the vehicle is being driven at steady speeds or when lightly applying the accelerator. The issue appears to stem from improper pressure regulation or fluid flow within the transmission valve body, which causes erratic shifting and delayed engagement. When this malfunction occurs, the torque converter can fail to properly manage torque transfer, resulting in sudden and forceful forward motion of the vehicle. While driving on a highway at approximately 65 mph, my vehicle suddenly lurched forward aggressively, as if it had downshifted or received a surge of power without any change in throttle input. This caused the car to rapidly accelerate momentarily, nearly causing me to lose control. The unexpected forward thrust startled me and forced me to take immediate corrective action to maintain my lane and prevent a collision with a nearby vehicle. In another instance, while slowing down to a stop, the car lunged forward again instead of decelerating smoothly, nearly causing me to roll into an intersection. This created a dangerous situation for myself, my passengers, and surrounding traffic. This defect creates a significant risk of collision due to the vehicle’s unpredictable acceleration behavior. The driver cannot reliably control speed or anticipate when the car may suddenly surge forward. The issue compromises both vehicle stability and driver reaction time, particularly at higher speeds or in traffic. If this problem were to occur in a congested area, at a stoplight, or near pedestrians, it could result in a serious crash, injury, or fatality. The failure of the valve body and torque converter in the Ford Fusion represents a critical mechanical defect that directly impacts safe operation of the vehicle.

Occasionally, the vehicle will drive in reverse when started and the shifter knob is turned to Drive (forward). This has occurred at least 5 times and the dealership has not been able to replicate the issue. So in their minds, it is not an issue. On one of those instances we noted that that shifter did not have any mode highlighted even though it was put into Drive. There were no warning lamps illuminated, no system messages. The car simply started to reverse when taking the foot off of the brake. The car had to be turned off and restarted multiple times to get it to go forward. This can be dangerous as one could inadvertently strike an object or person that is behind the vehicle.

A wrench warning light came on, and a warning "SHIFT SYS FAULT Service Required" appeared on the dashboard. This warning appeared when I tried setting the dial to park in the car, and the "P" on the dial was blinking. I could not put the car back in park and had to apply the emergency brake to ensure the car stayed parked. Luckily I was back at home when this happened and was not out in public where this could have caused an accident if I was not able to switch from reverse "R" to "D" for example. After checking online and physically checking the part myself I found the issue to be with the transmission shifter bushing (part # KV6Z7K340A) being missing/degraded. This follows the same issue noted in recall #22V413000 which was for the 2013-2016 fusions, but it should be expanded to the 2018-2020 models too. The vehicle has not been officially inspected due to the fact it cannot be driven anywhere, however, I have ordered the parts from the local Ford dealer for replacement. The failure mileage was 82,670 miles.

Flex plate cracked at 84000 miles. It is currently at a Ford dealership being repaired at my expense. The car exhibited a rattling noise at idle near the bell housing. Had the part in question shattered at highway speeds, the results would have been catastrophic. There were no warning indicators other than the rattling noise. From researching this issue, it seems to be a widespread problem with the 1.5l eco boost, but it is not part of the recall.

I have a 2019 Ford Fusion hybrid titanium, and it is exhibiting issues of a recall that Ford has issued for my year making model. But not specifically for my Vin. The recall is for the A.P.I.M. module and is a software glitch that although leave the infotainment system with a black or blank screen or right after using the backup camera, the backup camera will stay on the screen for some time and it states on the recall that it is a safety concern due to being a distraction for the driver on top of that, it will not remember any device I pair to it via Bluetooth, it will not remember navigation presets or any destinations I previously routed to with the navigation system. Every time I turn my car on for some reason it starts the navigation system with the route to my parents address. Also sometimes the screen will be unresponsive and unusable untill next ignition cycle. It kills my 12v battery because the screen will stay on after vehicle is turned off. This happens every ignition cycle

I could not find a link for complaints, so I am reporting a complaint here. I got a notice of recall in July 2023 (NHTSA Recall 23V-440) for this vehicle and almost a year later there is NO fix or updated communication on whether the Battery Energy Control Module for this vehicle can be modified to be made safe. I was told to stop charging the car due to a possible fire hazard, and this defeats the purpose that I purchased it for in the first place. I have been forced to buy (increasiingly expensive) gasoline for the past 10+ months whereas before the recall, I almost never purchased gas - just charged the car. I want to make a formal complaint against Ford Motor Corporation for their lack of action and communication on the status of this problem and when it is likely to be solved. Thank you.

Known issue with flex plate: rattle noise that gets progressively worse over time and especially when in colder weather, the cold start & when idling causes the rattle noise to be worse, over the past two years the rattle noise is still there but now with some vibration as well. In 2023, took in to ford dealership & told rattle noise was normal & not significant enough to replace (mentioned the Ford CSP notice of the issue), progressively over the last two years rattling has been getting worse (especially when idling), took it to different ford dealer and they confirmed it has been the flex plate (but now is outside of the CSP coverage). No engine warning lights were on, which is more concerning as the rattling and vibrations worsen over time. Was told that if not fixed the whole car could stop & break down, which poses a safety risk. Multiple other customer complaints about safety issues and concerns with this known issue of flex plates cracking that ford is not taking responsibility for as the CSP doesn’t cover vehicles over 10yrs old or over 100,000 miles— leaving drivers with unsafe vehicles with crack flex plates.

The rear backup camera when in reverse shows a blank screen. When switched to park or drive, a message appears on the screen that says camera unavailable with a warning sign. This began early June 2025. It does not happen every time but it is more often than not. I have had this looked at by a Ford authorized dealer however the problem would not arise for them to see it in action. Yes I can use my mirrors but it is useless to have a safety tool on a vehicle that is defective.
NHTSA #11686414
When I put my car in reverse, the backup camera FREEZES and stays on when driving down the road. Sometimes the backup camera turns blue and stays blue when driving down the road. This increases a chance of a crash risk. My 2019 Ford Fusion is not on the recall list and should be. Mountain View Ford in Chattanooga, TN has confirmed my backup camera freezes and turns blue. This backup camera issue began approximately April 2025.

Rattling/clunking noise. When to an Auto repair shop and was told it’s the FLEXPLATE. Was told of it wasn’t fixed car would eventually stop working. No lights came on. I see 2019 ford fusion do have a recall for my specific issue.

2019 Ford Fusion equipped with the 1.5L EcoBoost engine has experienced overheating and misfire issues, linked coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders, which can lead to engine overheating and potential fire hazards. This is a KNOWN issue by Ford but they have not issued a recall, or even let me know in the 6 years that I have had the vehicle.
NHTSA #11716150
Engine diagnosed with coolant intrusion problem into the engine cylinders. Car failed at 138k needing 12k repair from Ford dealership which is more than the value of the car. Transmission shifter bushing went out also in this car even though Ford did a recall for previous years of the model the issue has not been fixed.

Check engine light was on and off intermittently for a few months starting in march of 2025. No immediate problem then, vehicle had 89 90k miles. In August. The vehicles coolant was leaking into the engine . Rendering a misfire in the cylinder and blowing the head gasket after mechanical diagnosis but not checked immediately due to symptoms not occurring till after a few weeks in August.Car not once over heated but then would not start. The car would then not go past a 40 mph without the transmission pushing very hard. After 3rd party mechanic diagnosis, I looked into potential recall on Fords website and in fact there was one but I was never notified of. So I contacted ford . The said yes, your car is under warranty, however after taking it in, they refused to repair the damages since the problem occurred 10k miles passed the mileage listed on the warranty for the repair. The car is unsafe and not drivable and the issue, which they knew would occur, did not happen till 10k miles passed Fords set parameters in which even if I took it in at that timeframe listed, the problem was not noticeable to be fixed. Very unsafe and unfair to the consumer.

Ford had a TSB 22-2322 and previous recalls due to coolant intrusion for vehicles equipped with1.5L engine instead of long block replacement ford is requiring short block replacements vehicle has been in service almost 2 months and has had engine replace twice in 1 year span and now needs a cylinder head replacement due to engine overheating and leaking due to those coolant intrusions and I’m expecting to pay out of pocket which is extremely frustrating

According to Auto Zone, after being placed on scanner, the power train system (P0456) has a evaporative emissions system leak (very small leak) diagnosed at 76,919miles. Ford dealership says they cannot find a problem. When I put gas in the car I have to sit and wait at least 10 minutes before my car will start again. It takes a couple of tries and much hesitation, but it will start. Once you get started it has difficulty accelerating or may slow down on its own. Again, Ford dealership reports they can't seem to find a problem. When I told them the problem, they came up with a price to charge me to fix something they could not find. Ridiculous!! My ford app clearly states check engine problem detected, but nooooo they cannot find anything wrong. Two different dealerships. Thank God I keep my paperwork because others are complaining of the same thing. They have to put the pen to the paper or we will never get a recall.

Coolant leak in engine
NHTSA #11640228
2019 Ford Fusion SE 1.5L. Not made aware of CSP on my car. Have dealer notes saying my car wasn’t listen in OASIS for notification. Although when I found the CSP online my car is an “affected vehicle”. I now have low coolant, white exhaust smoke and severe knocking from my engine. I had a first ever reported issue to the dealership in 05/2023 where my car stalled out and dash lights illuminated. They ran codes and the only documented code in the service paperwork was P0222. They found a “chaffed wire”. They did not upgrade my PCM. Although by 05/2023 that was the recommendation on the CSP for the dealership to do after previously failed bandaid fixes by Ford. My car will be going to the dealership on 12/9/24 to address my concerns and request all of my detailed service records. And really figure out why exactly the dealership didn’t complete ANYthing issued in the CSP especially when I was taking my car to the dealership for routine maintenance. I am within the 6 or 7 years and 84k miles or whatever it is now. It continuously changes but honestly I am quite upset that faulty engines aren’t being recalled by Ford but Ford will issue a recall on BACK UP CAMERAS. Like seriously. Engine > camera A faulty back up camera is probably not the same level of fire/safety risk as the faulty engines Ford continues to refuse to recall.

My car is at 119,000 miles and 2019 ford fusion. I was driving on a local street when my cars warning popped up with a notice that my cars coolant was overheated. I immediately pulled over and turned off the car. My cars coolant tank was completely depleted. The problem was determined to be a coolant leak into cylinder 2. The check engine code of P0302 MISFIRE ON #2 CYLINDER. This issue had the potential to result in an engine fire and severe injury.

A day or so later noticed again and my husband checked again and realized again and low again and checked all and no apparant leak in lines or hoses but short drive again to check it began to overheat and check engine light came on and he read up and becoming aware of issue with this coolant leak into cylinder. He took to Sullivan Ford dealership and confirmed pressure test of coolant in cylinder # 1 and had to replace engine assembly. No offer by Ford to assist. All four tires separated at the bead, catastrophic tire failure. Thank goodness they went flat in the driveway and not traveling at 65 mph on the interstate. 235/50R/17. Going approximately 55 Miles an hour on the freeway and my car starts profusely shaking. I pulled to the side of the highway tow truck comes up behind me. Ann, my cylinder 4 was noted to be misfiring. I had it towed to Midas and that is where it was determined that engine coolant leaked into my cylinders and now being told that my car requires a new engine!! Mind you i have already paid 5K to replace the timing chain because apparently my car skipped timing due to oil pan leak. Both of these issues are posted on TSB BULLETINS ON THE FORD WEBSITE. I am NOT GOING TO PAY 11K for a new engine not to mention the 5K I already paid and all my other maintenance that I have paid for. Ford was deceptive knowing selling these vehicles with a QA ISSUE! AND THEY REFUSE TO ASSIST THE CONSUMER. THEY NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR NEGLIGENCE!!

First, we will start with every time I turn my car to the left the steering wheel box and the brakes skid then the ABS sensor comes on Then we will start with the car every time I put it into a gear. It automatically goes back to park, and I cannot move the car in any direction. When the issue first started, I could reverse then when I put the car and drive in the middle of the street it would automatically go back to park which could cause a crash I only have video proof of this.

I have a 2019 ford fusion turbo engine and everytime I accelerate the turbo is wicking into the pcm the control module which is causing hazards sucking as at random times whenever I turn left the steering wheel with get stuck and the brakes will lock for a couple seconds and then go back to normal. I had Meineke do a diagnostic on the car and they showed oil in the pcm aswell as the loss of connection between the pcm and its sensors. They drove the car and while driving the car going 20mph the car is reading as going 100

The vehicle wheels and steering wheel bounce and shake when brakes are applied, regardless of the speed level; this felt like I am losing control of the vehicle and as if the wheels, and components of suspension or brake system will collapse all of the sudden. No warning lights came up in the dashboard. The vehicle was inspected by the dealership (Kearny Mesa Ford Service, 7303 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92111) and they confirmed the problem, the problem still persisted after they performed checks and repairs, their response was "we are not sure what's causing the problem and we need more time to diagnose.".

The rear view camera operates intermittently. Sometimes it works fine, other times the picture is blank or is extremely blurry with horizontal lines through it or the screen just displays snow. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. it can work in the morning, but not when I leave to go home after work. It can works for days, then not work for days. I called Ford due to an article that came across my news feed about rear camera recalls, but Ford said I'm not covered. This has been going on for several months now. A dealer wanted to charge several hundred dollars to check it out, but I didn't want to pay. To me this should be covered under warranty.

I was driving on a slushy road and it was snowing. I received a warning that the pre-collision assist was unavailable. Another light also lit up saying there was no traction. The car veered toward the concrete barrier next to me and I couldn't turn the wheel. The brakes also did not work. I slammed into the concrete barrier at about 55 mph and began spinning back across the interstate and stopped next to a guardrail. When I hit the concrete barrier, my seatbelt didn't catch and my whole body slid forward into the steering wheel, dashboard, and windshield. My face hit the windshield. The airbags never inflated.

The lower latch/tether fails to secure the car seat. Any time that the lower latch is tightened for installation, it becomes loose within an hour of installation. The car and car seat were taken to the local fire department to be installed by a certified installer and it still came loose within a hour of installation. Upon traveling we noticed a loud engine knocking when the car was at idle. We immediately pulled over and checked the engine. The coolant level was lower than normal and the engine oil level was fine. We immediately returned home and parked the car. While returning home the front camera continued to display an error message that it was not working and would repeat every 30 seconds. After doing research I read that Ford has known about the Fusion Ecoboost having a design flaw where coolant leaks into the cylinder heads and can crack the head as well as a flexplate crack that appears. They issued a "fix" for the flexplate to some models and I would like this applied to my car as I feel they knowingly continued to sell this model with the issues without prior warnings or notices.
