Vehicle went to turtle mode 3 separate times at highway speeds forcing a stop. Each time it was towed to the dealer. First two times little was done per the report and was returned. On the third time it has spent 7 weeks for a repair on the transmission not a replacement. The dealer also needed to order a replacement exhaust clamp that took 5 plus days to receive and install. Service department wanted me to take delivery prior to the clamp replacement and I refuse due to safety concerns of CO. Without our AAA membership we would have spent nearly $1000 on those 3 tows.

Vehicle loses power and goes into limp mode. This has happened three times same fault code. The last two times we were going 80 on the expressway. Very dangerous luckily we haven't caused a accident. The manufacturer hasn't fixed the problem. Even though we keep taking it to the dealer. They clear the code and try to recreate the problem with no success. Tell us there is nothing they can do. There are recalls snd repairs for previous years of this vehicle with the same issue. They haven't solved the problem in the 2024s. The car was bought new in November 2024 and has 18,000 miles. It is unreliable and unsafe. See attached photos showing he dash and warning.

9-SPEED TRANSMISSION:ZF9 HP-9, considered an "improved" transmission as compared to the previous 6-speed versions, prior to 2017. According to more than one FCA class action lawsuit, Fiat Chrysler knew the transmission had problems that could make FCA vehicles unsafe to drive. Problems: Lurching away from a stop, either when shifting into Drive or Reverse, then often accelerating into traffic, or into a crowded parking lot, or in an after-school setting, with children around. Rough shifting into Reverse or Drive from Park. Delayed shifting into Reverse or Drive, from Park. Intermittent "sounds" such as clunking or low-level grinding when attempting to shift from one gear to another. Refusal to downshift once a speed of 35-45 mph is reached, creating "gear-hunting", during which time the vehicle begins to accelerate, then decelerate, then accelerate again, often forcing abrupt, potentially-dangerous braking. Refusal to downshift allows the vehicle to continue unabated in gears 2-3, then 3-4. Intermittent refusal to upshift or downshift when engaging gears 6-9. At speeds between 50-70 mph, the vehicle will independently begin to slowly downshift, for no apparent reason, requiring a soft braking action, first, then sometimes followed by pulling over, coming to a complete stop, waiting then resuming. then getting back to speed. On one occasion, the transmission "slipped" into neutral at approximately 70 mph, causing the driver to pull off onto a major interstate's shoulder, shutting the engine off, then allowing the transmission to "cool" for several minutes, before starting the vehicle and continuing. This can be very dangerous if the transmission completely fails at 2 AM in the morning in a somewhat "dicey" area, anywhere, on any highway. All of the above complaints and transmission dysfunction/defects are sudden/acute and intermittent creating a sense of unnecessary anxiety and frustration when driving. As aresult, the owner has begun not allowing other drivers

Vehicle shut off 2 times driving down the road prior to 6000 miles being on what was a vehicle we purchased new from Chrysler. Dealer diagnosed as a faulty transmission that was replaced under warranty.

We picked up a new 2024 Pacifica Hybrid Pinaccle with 85 mile on it on the evening of [XXX]. During rush hour on [XXX] in Atlanta on [XXX], the vehicle alerted "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off In < 2 Minutes". This caused the driver (my wife) to panic as this is Atlanta rush hour. Thankfully she made it to the shoulder from the far left lane before the vehicle shut down - thanks to some friendly drivers who acknowledged her sudden use of hazard flashers and loss of speed. She was able to restart the vehicle after a delay and get it off the interstate. This could have caused a major accident. During her 3.5 mile drive after she was able to get off of [XXX] in downtown Atlanta, the vehicle alerted and shut down another 3 times. When she finally got it home, it had 160 miles (total) on it. The dealer service department would not pick it up and advised we had to call Chrysler roadside assistance to come get it as we did not feel it was safe to drive to the the dealership. We were forced to pay $82.50 to have this towed as it exceeded the 4 mile radius Chrysler roadside assistance is authorized to tow a vehicle. Our dealer is the closest one to our house... The vehicle is displaying a code of P0A78. The vehicle is set to be towed to the dealer tomorrow for evaluation. I have photos documenting the warning message and error codes if needed. We purchased a new 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid (the “Vehicle”) on [XXX]. At the time of purchase, the Vehicle had 15 miles on it. On [XXX], while driving on [XXX] with my wife and three children in the Vehicle, the Vehicle engine shut off. The first notice I had of a problem was the Vehicle engine shutting off while, at the same time, the dashboard indicated that the Vehicle would shut off in two minutes. The Vehicle did not allow me any time to get safely off of the highway; it just shut off, i.e., the warning did not actually give me two minutes’ warning. In light of the Vehicle engine shutting off unexpectedly, and because of the volume of traffic, I had to coast to a stop on the left shoulder. I was then stranded in the Vehicle in the left shoulder of [XXX] on a busy weekend morning, with other cars speeding by, with my entire family in the car. For approximately 15 to 25 minutes, my family and I sat in the shoulder of [XXX]. Eventually, after having tried numerous times to restart the Vehicle, it restarted. We drove the Vehicle to the nearest Chrysler service department. An employee identified a code, P0A78, which he indicated might be an issue, but he could not be sure without further diagnostics. He indicated that the error code did not create a concern that driving the Vehicle would damage its engine. We got back in the Vehicle and resumed our trip. About half an hour later, the Vehicle engine again shut off. Again, the dashboard did not give advance warning before shutting off, such that I had to again coast the Vehicle to a stop in the shoulder. After about 5 or 10 minutes, I was able to get the Vehicle started again, and I was able to drive it back to the service department. The service department let me know it believed that the Vehicle’s transmission needed to be replaced. Chrysler has since approved a buy-back of the Vehicle. This seems very similar to NHTSA Campaign Number 23V010000, though the Vehicle is a 2024 model. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving the vehicle and exiting the highway when the transmission disengaged and i lost all engine power to the vehicle. Luckily i was able to pull over safely out of the way of traffic but was very lucky it didnt happen 5 minutes earlier as i was in a work zone on the highway with no pull off or it could have been a major issue and potential caused an accident. I took it to the dealer and they said the transmission error went into a stored state and there was nothing they could do but i should keep an eye on it. 2 days later it did it again and i almost got rear ended trying to get over to the shoulder safely. I took it to the dealer and told them i didnt want the car back until it was fixed because its a huge safety concern and i didnt feel safe with me or my family in the vehicle. They have put over 1000 miles on it since and havent been able to recreate the issue and crysler wont let them warranty the transmission. This was a known issue on models prior to 2024 and the dealer has a high confidence its the transmission that needs to be replaced but they aren't allowed to replace it until they can replicate it with their computer attached.

I purchased a 2024 Pacifica hybrid new off the lot (~1200 miles on it at time of purchase). Two weeks into ownership I was exiting the highway and I heard a clunk and lost all engine power on the vehicle and a warning screen came up telling me to pull over. I was able to pull over in a "safe" location where cars were able to see me and pull around me. I could not move anywhere else as the car has no power when I hit the accelerator pedal. I sat in the car for a few minutes and after a google search it told me to try turning it back on to regain power to limp it home and that worked (Check engine light still on). I took it to the nearest dealer and they told me that the code went into a stored state and they couldn't do anything and for me to just keep driving it and keep an eye on it. Two days later I had it happen again and i just barely made it to the shoulder but almost got rear ended. I took it into the dealer and told them they have to fix it as I don't feel safe in this car nor do I feel safe having my wife drive my children in it. They said this was a common issue with the transmission that was supposedly fixed in the 2024 but from what they are seeing it looked to be the same issues as prior years which requires a new transmission. They told me Chrysler wouldn't warranty it until they could replicate the issue with their computer attached. They have put 1000 miles on the car but haven't been able to replicate it. I have called Chrysler multiple times and they have a case file open but aren't taking action until the dealer can recreate this issue. This is a huge safety risk and could cause a major accident if it happened in a construction zone or somewhere where we couldn't pull off safely! This needs to be addressed and force Chrysler to fix these issues because I know I'm not the only one with this issue (according to many online forums).

While driving on highway a vehicle alert “STOP SAFELY…VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF SOON” displayed. A few seconds later, vehicle shutdown, slowed and came to a stop in heavy traffic. Vehicle could not be pushed out of the driving lane and was locked in the “Park” position. After about twenty minutes and multiple attempts to restart vehicle, it started with the Amber engine light displaying. After driving about one mile the “STOP SAFELY … VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF SOON” again displayed and again vehicle almost immediately shut off and came to a stop. Again after several minutes and multiple tries, I was able to restart with the Amber Engine alert displayed. Was able to drive about three miles and make it home. Next day vehicle started and I was able to dive vehicle to dealership where it is currently being evaluated. Only a few months old and 3400 miles.

I was driving the vehicle as normal when all of a sudden a message appeared and the engine shut down. The message was "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon". It brought my speed down to 10 mph and I had to pull off the side of the road. This is now the 3rd time it has happened. We have brought it into the dealership previously and both times they said that they were not able to find the issue and since the message went away, we could proceed with driving the vehicle as normal. I have 3 little kids and we often drive on the highway and I no longer feel safe in my car. I know there is an open investigation for model years 2017-2023, but unfortunately ours is a 2024 so is not in that investigation.

I was driving at a speed of about 60 KM per hour .(The vehicle is just 8000 km on it.) The vehicle suddenly gave some sort of warning and engine shut down on the road.,and vehicle stalled in the centre of the road causing a serious safety issue for my baby and toddler in the vehicle. Luckily a tow truck was behind us who gave us some protection by stopping behind us. I turned on and off and after 10,15 minutes the vehicle started again. I am really nervous to drive this vehicle after this incident especially with my kids with me . Please advise. Thank you.

Just bought the car from Bill Luke dealership and was driving it home. Within 15 miles of driving it from the dealership while on the highway the engine just stalled and quit on us. We managed to somehow pull to the side of the road. It was scary to dodge the cars behind us. The car just came back from Chrysler dealership after it needed a idcm to be replaced.

I bought a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Pinnacle [XXX]. On [XXX] I was driving. I was on a busy six lane road when the engine stopped working. The dash display showed a message to the effect of "Stop safely, vehicle engine will shut off soon" [the engine had already shut off when I saw the display]. The battery and engine lights displayed. The vehicle would not start and was towed to my dealership. They could find nothing wrong with the vehicle. They replaced the battery thinking it was dead from the desert heat sitting on the dealer lot prior to sale. The car worked until [XXX]. My daughter was driving, again, on a six lane road, when the engine died. The dash again showed the "Stop safely, vehicle...." [again the engine had already shut off when she saw the display}. The engine and battery light were again illuminated. Email notifications were sent to me showing alerts: Powertrain Malfunction, Charging system, Brakes & Suspension Antilock Brake System. I had the car towed to my dealership. Again, the dealership replaced the battery but could find no cause. The car currently works. I have owned twenty autos in my life. I have NEVER had a vehicle stop working as I am driving it. This is an extremely dangerous situation; the risk of being rear ended by another driver at a high rate of speed is great. I have seen other posts from Pacifica drivers with the same issue. Putting any driver in an unsafe situation such as this needs correction; it is even more disturbing when it is a minivan designed for families with children. My dealership is as stumped as I am. Chrysler needs to address this immediately. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The charging system light came on. My wife went to charge at public charging station due to being close to one. After plugging in the van, it said charging failed. She unplugged the charged went to back up and the van died. Had to have it towed to dealer. Dealer states even though the van is in the warranty period, the IDCM which is up under the van is scuffed and therefore isn’t warrantied. They said there is a big dent in the muffler also so we must have ran over something and caused the damage even though we live in a city with paved streets, a subdivision with paved streets, and have a concrete driveway at our home. They said they have sent me emails with the pictures which I have yet to recieve. I went to the dealer and asked them to jack up my van so I can see the damage personally and they don’t have a lift available at the time, so I told them I would be back in town at a certain time from work and to call me so I could see it and they have yet to show me the scuffed IDCM module or the dented muffler. We haven’t run over anything to cause this kind of damage to a module like this because all the hybrid batteries are under the van. If the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is so cheaply made for a $62,000 vehicle that something can “scuff” a module housing and shut a vehicle down, this is potentially very dangerous if someone were driving on the highway if it were to shutdown and someone (including myself or any of my family) were driving and lose all propulsion and steering (because it’s electric steering) or worse braking! It could be catastrophic with people dying. This needs to be investigated to see how fragile this component is and if they need to “toughen” it up or re-locate it. Versus trying to get by and get around paying warranty claims or hoping nothing happens until the units break down after the warranty period not knowing of the Safety hazard they have created for their vehicle owners and the driving public.

I would like to bring up a serious safety issue with this vehicle (2024 Chrysler Pacifica Select PHEV) WITH 6997 miles on the odometer. As I was driving, at approximately 11:15AM, I received a message on the dashboard that read, “Stop Safely!! Vehicle will shut off in < 2 minutes”. For my own safety as well as other drivers on the road, I tried maneuvering the vehicle to the side of the road, however the vehicle shut off within 15-30 seconds. The vehicle did not move at all. The serious safety concern I have is “What if the vehicle had stopped running on the major highways full of traffic”? Please note, this is also a well-known issue starting from the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica models. Additionally, a similar incident occurred to another similar make model in Sept. 2024 with VIN # [XXX] . It seemed like, when I received the message, the vehicle's computer system interlocks fuel supply and chokes up the brakes to the wheels so the vehicle is completed locked up in one position and it does not do rolling stop to safely pull over to the side of the road. This is very dangerous because if a semi-truck with 80,000 lbs. load is coming behind you, you will NOT be able to move your vehicle to the side. This can potentially kill all the occupants in the vehicle. This vehicle has been towed to the dealer to troubleshoot/resolve the issue. Thank you so much in advance for looking into this issue urgently. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Got “Stop Safely Vehicle Will shut off soon” message twice. Vehicle shut off both times.
NHTSA #11615463
While driving the vehicle home after purchasing it, the check engine light came on with an error message saying to pull over safely, the van would shut off in 2 minutes. The dealership had the van for 16 days and replaced the transmission. The first time driving it after receiving it back, the check engine light came on. The dealership claimed the code was not cleared from the previous repair due to being the same code. The same day we received it back again, the same error message appeared; however, it immediately shut off in the middle of the street and jerked forward into a curb. The dealership has had the car for 4 days this time, as of now has not looked at the car yet and will not provide a loaner car.

About 3 months into our ownership of the new vehicle, and only 2K km on it, while driving the vehicle, we received a notification on the instrument screen to 'pull over because engine will be shutting down'. After waiting several minutes, we started the vehicle again, drove further along the road, and again it happened. This happened four times until we finally made it to the dealership. Dealership kept the vehicle for 1.5 months, changing various components and still getting the same issue. We wrote to headoffice, and next day we were told the vehicle was good to go. Two weeks later the same issue happened. It is not at the dealership again and we are being told it is a transmission issue. I believe this is the same defect as the previous Pacifica models which have a recall on them (we had a previous Pacifica).

I was driving at highway speed westbound in the middle lane of the Long Island Expressway in Queens, New York when I felt an unusual motion and heard an unusual noise. The dashboard warning said that the engine had shut down and that I should move to the nearest safe place. All acceleration was lost and the vehicle was only rolling. This was a dangerous situation but I did manage to change lanes to the right. The vehicle then rolled to a stop in the right lane of the highway (with no shoulder). I could not restart it. I had to wait for some period of time before a tow truck could come to move me off the highway.

I own a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica with open safety recall FCA 06D / NHTSA 26V-189 for side curtain airbags/ejection mitigation. I contacted the dealer approximately two months ago to schedule the free recall repair. The dealer advised there is a parts delay and the repair is still approximately two more months out. I checked for earlier repair options and was told no dealer can complete it sooner due to parts availability. This is a family vehicle used to transport children, and the recall involves side curtain airbags that may not retain sufficient pressure during deployment, increasing risk of injury or ejection. I am requesting NHTSA review because the manufacturer appears unable to provide the safety recall remedy in a timely manner. I am also seeking guidance on whether the vehicle is safe to continue driving and whether alternate transportation should be provided while waiting.
NHTSA #11739439
I am reporting a failure by Chrysler (FCA US LLC) to provide a remedy for Recall 25V302 (55C) within a reasonable timeframe. The local dealer (Houston, TX) has confirmed a 6-week backorder for the side curtain airbag parts. The dealer refuses to ground the vehicle or provide a loaner/rental. As this defect involves a life-safety restraint system, I do not feel safe operating the vehicle, and the manufacturer is failing their federal obligation to provide a timely repair.

The headliner AC vent cover fell out while driving striking my minor daughter. We were driving a rental so we did not attempt to correct the issue, leaving the vent cover in the front, but we have found several other incidents reported online of the same issue. We did not take it in for inspection nor were any warning lamps on.

I purchased a brand new 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid on September 23th 2024. It was delivered the next day and after driving just for 2-3 miles, the vehicle gave me a warning that the was serious issue and the vehicle will shutdown in 1/2 minutes. I was fortunately slowing down to stop at a light when the incident occurred and barely managed to pull the vehicle over to an island to let the traffic behind me pass. The vehicle wouldn't move at all and there were couple of warning lights on the dashboard including the engine light. After couple of attempts, the vehicle started again and I managed to drive to a parking lot for the vehicle to be towed. This could have been dangerous if this had happened on a highway on a highspeed. The dealer in the process of looking into the issue..

Brand new less then a month old 2024 Pacifica hybrid. I had multiple check engine lights without codes and then on 22nd of Feb out of nowhere Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon warning in the middle of the highway at 9:00pm at night. I made in over one lane and the vehicle shut off. Took it to the shop and now having the PIM repaired but they can not get the part.

1st time: I was exiting my driveway and dash presented with no torque and a picture of a turtle came up saying power issues. Running on hybrid engine at this time. Pushed down on gas and no power. I turned van off waited a few minutes, restarted, gas engine came on along with the engine light on dashboard. I was able to return van to the garage. Came in and called the dealership. Took car to dealership next day and they plugged it into the computer to check. They returned the van to me saying they gave it a reset and said I should be OK to go. I was leaving on vacation in a couple of days and gave me the OK to drive. Drove to SC from Ohio and all went well until the third day is when it happened once again...... 2nd time while in SC: Dash board gave warning, stop safely vehicle will shut off soon....engine shut down as I was turning left in traffic. Van was running on the batteries hybrid system with 26% left of charge. I took the van to a dealership to make sure it would be safe for us to drive home. They too plugged it into a computer and information came up about the battery. The tech told me it would be OK to drive home. They did not reset as they told me to take it to my home dealership to have them document the issue. Made it home safely, thank goodness. Dealership had the car for a week. They were told by Chrysler to open a case for the battery issues before they would OK ordering a new battery. They had my car for a week and Chrysler told them to reset and give the van back to me and have me drive the vehicle to see if it would happen again. My dealership shared with them it had happened twice but Chrysler refused to allow them to order a new battery and repeated to give the vehicle back to the owner after a reset and have the owner drive and see if it happens again. My feeling is Chrysler has no regard for my or my families safety. I did have the same experience with another hybrid Chrysler van I rented going 70 MPH on PA turnpike.

A Concerning Safety Issue with the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Last week, I experienced a serious safety incident with my newly purchased Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid that I feel compelled to share. Just a mile from my home, my vehicle's dashboard displayed an alarming message: "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon." Within moments, the van lost power and the steering wheel locked - fortunately while I was already stopping at a stop sign. The vehicle became completely unresponsive. After researching online, I found this was a known issue requiring a specific reset procedure: exiting the vehicle, multiple attempts with the start/stop button, and then restarting. While this eventually worked, both the Check Engine and battery warning lights remained illuminated during my careful drive home. My attempts to get assistance through Chrysler Assist were unsuccessful, with their only recommendation being to visit a dealer. At the dealership, they identified three diagnostic codes: B1945-13 B10EB-00 P0A78-00 While they performed a recall-related firmware update, the underlying concern remains: What if this failure had occurred on a freeway, in adverse weather conditions, or with my family aboard? More concerning is the discovery that this isn't an isolated incident. Similar reports are appearing across owner forums and social media, suggesting this is a widespread issue affecting Chrysler's hybrid vehicles. Despite apparent awareness of the problem, Chrysler has yet to implement a comprehensive fix. As a new hybrid vehicle owner, this experience raises serious questions about vehicle safety and manufacturer responsibility. While the automotive industry pushes toward electrification, ensuring basic safety and reliability should remain paramount.

We purchased the vehicle in Feb 2024. On [XXX] a check engine light came on while driving on [XXX] (1 lane highway) and a few seconds later the on the display on the instrument panel stated "Stop Safely, the vehicle will shut off soon" and the vehicle immediately started slowing down and lost the ability to accelerate. Luckily the vehicle was able to pull off the road about 20 seconds after the "Stop Safely" caution appeared. We tried shutting down the vehicle and restarting with no change. We let the vehicle sit for approximately 10 minutes and the vehicle was able to start back up with a "Check Engine" caution light. We were able to limp the vehicle home. The vehicle was brought into the dealer on the 29th of May and found multiple error codes on the vehicle. The maintainer said would require a new PIM Power Inverter P/N 68381781-AD. The part is not available and is on back order (Dealership said it could take months). I contacted Chrysler at 1-800-334-9200 on 6 June and discussed the issue. They said they will elevate my case to a supervisor and will call me back within 24 hours. They did not call back. On 11 June my case worker was unavailable and left a voice mail. And on 12 June I contacted Chrysler at the above number again and spoke to a different person who said my case worker is the only one that can handle my issue. Again, they have not returned my call. Lastly, I called another dealer in Orlando to see if they had the part (above part number), they said that they had 5 vehicles waiting for the part and the PIM Power Inverter is on back order (which he said that the part could take months). Bottom line, if the vehicle would have shut off like it did on a freeway like the I-95, this would have ended in an accident or worse. The vehicle is not safe to drive let alone it is a minivan which we take our children in. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am a full-time power wheelchair user with Multiple Sclerosis and rely on this 2024 Chrysler Pacifica wheelchair-accessible van as my primary means of transportation. Since purchase, the vehicle has repeatedly experienced dangerous loss-of-power events while being driven. Immediately before the failure occurs, warning beeps sound and multiple warning lights illuminate, including Check Engine, ETC, Park Brake, FCW, ESC, and MIL. After these warnings appear, the vehicle loses acceleration and enters a reduced-power/limp-mode condition. Pressing the accelerator does not result in normal acceleration, creating a serious safety hazard in traffic. Most recently, on June 4, 2026, this occurred approximately six times during a single trip. During one incident, the warning lights illuminated, the vehicle lost acceleration, and we were forced to pull over with emergency flashers activated in a dangerous location. A police officer came upon us, stopped to assist, and advised that the location was extremely dangerous. Because I use a power wheelchair, I cannot safely transfer into a standard vehicle, taxi, rideshare, or other transportation. We explained to the officer that if the van were to be towed, I would effectively be stranded because there was no practical way to transport me in my power wheelchair. The condition later cleared and we were able to continue. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by Chrysler service departments and DriveMaster, the local mobility provider working with Freedom Motors. The problem has been reported repeatedly but is intermittent and has not been reproduced during inspections. Despite multiple repair attempts, the problem persists. The vehicle is available for inspection. These recurring loss-of-power events create a serious safety risk for myself, my family, and other motorists.

The vehicle, without warning, flashed the message “Stop Safely, Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon” and suddenly went totally unresponsive. It had shut down within 60 seconds. This was on day 4 of ownership and less than 1000 miles on the vehicle. We were unable to restart, shift, or get the vehicle to respond in any way. Upon reading further, this is the exact issue that over 67,000 of these models were recalled for in years 2017-2023 with transmission replacement as the required repair.

I am writing to formally express my concern and frustration regarding the unresolved recall on my vehicle. It has now been over a year since the recall was issued, and my point of purchase dealer still has not received the necessary parts to complete the repair. This extended delay has moved beyond inconvenience and has become a genuine safety issue. I rely on my vehicle daily, and continuing to drive it under an open recall, especially one involving safety components is unacceptable. I have been patient for more than a year, but the lack of progress and communication has left me with serious concerns. I expect prompt attention to this matter and a concrete plan to resolve the recall as soon as possible.

I started to brake on Peck Road. I turned into my driveway and as I started to come to a complete stop, the brake pedal went to the floor and the brakes did not engage and I went over a landscape wall. I have a video of the event from my ring camera. I went on-line and noticed that other Pacifica owners have had an issue similar to this one.

On a brand new vehicle with less than a few hundred miles, the electronic parking brake engaged and would not disengage until the battery was disconnected. This left an error code and the dealership replaced brake actuator. Then, the SafeHold feature started to randomly activate when vehicle started to move from a stop light or stop sign. An error message would display on the screen, the vehicle shifted itself into park and activated the parking brake. The message indicated the vehicle had to be turned off and restarted. After restarting, the parking brake would disengage and the transmission could be shifted back into drive. This happened in the middle of traffic. This did not leave any kind of computer error code and therefore the dealership was not able to address it. Separately, the parking brake would refuse to disengage after repeated attempts, again without an error code, and the dealership was not able to address it. The vehicle has currently been under inspection for over forty days in total, and over twenty days since the last incident. The "SafeHold" safety feature is an accident waiting to happen.

As prior reported I am the owner of a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica that has a known safety defect in the rear sliding doors that is impossible to disable. This issue also cases parasitic draw strain on the battery that can completely disable the vehicle. The affected system can not be isolated and triggers even without the vehicle in use even effecting the way that the engine runs when in use due to voltage issues that the door issue causes with the battery system in the vehicle. This is not an isolated issue Enterprise Rent a Car in Rome, New York also stated to me that they had the same issue with a Pacifica that they use for rentals when I mentioned why mine was in the show this was on 2/2/2026 at 4:00pm. Something should be done to fix this issue or at the very least they should have a way to completely turn off the effected system. Nye Dodge in Oneida, New York is doing the repair on my vehicle and can be reached at 315-277-8955 for more information about the cause, and the fix for this issue. I want to reiterate that this is not a one off issue it is a known issue with the Chrysler Pacifica series that should be investigated.

When I tried to start my Pacifica I got a clicking sound like the battery was almost dead. I tried again and a very loud pop came from the area above the driver side around the top left windshield or possibly the air bag area. All the electric doors failed to operate. The car did not start. I snapped pictures of the instrument cluster. The motor LED came on, the "Auto Park Not Engaged" came on. The engine start button showed RUN. All 5 gear shifter LED were on "P R N D L". Both outside mirror blind spot indicators were on. I was trying to go to a doctor's appointment so I tried lifting the battery cable under the hood to reboot the computer. That worked and all returned to to normal. This malfunction has happened twice in the past month. The second one happened 11/4/2025. Photographed images are available upon request.

We purchased our 2024 Pacifica Pinnacle AWD new in July of 2024. The vehicle currently has 9,600 miles on it, and the issue has been present since it was new. We have experienced continuous issues while driving the vehicle at highway speeds, with the steering exhibiting a gap in responsiveness. The steering acts like there is a dead zone between 11 and 1 o'clock when turning the wheel, where nothing happens. Once the vehicle finally reacts to the driver's inputs, it causes the car to jerk from side to side. It is bad enough that it causes my entire family to become carsick during even short trips. Still, my primary concern is that the steering is not responsive, and if the issue worsens or changes, it could lead to a loss of control over the vehicle. In addition, the jerking caused by this may cause loss of control when traveling in inclement weather or icy conditions. We took the vehicle in for diagnosis, assuming an alignment issue, but the dealership verified the alignment was within the manufacturer's requirements. In addition, the dealership told us, "This is just how the Pacifica drives. All of them have this issue with the steering". Today, I came across an investigation into a similar issue with older model Pacificas, and I believe this is not only the same issue but also warrants investigation of all model year Pacificas. There were multiple comments within the forum post of owners experiencing this issue in newer vehicles than the current investigation. Please consider expanding your investigation to all model years. Thank you.

While traveling at highway speeds, the vehicle cut the engine and displayed a message that the vehicle would shut-down in 2 min. The message was inaccurate, as the vehicle immediately cut the engine. The first time it happened, the vehicle coasted to a stop in the middle of HOV lane. The second time it happened, I was in the right lane and the vehicle was able to coast to the shoulder.
NHTSA #11606262
We were driving on a 2 lane stretch of highway under construction. There were concrete barriers at the edge of the left and right lanes. There were no shoulder pull off areas or highway exits. We had been driving at highway speeds for 30 minutes. For about the next 10 minutes, there was heavy traffic congestion. Traffic was periodically stopped in both lanes and generally moving at less than 30 MPH. We were in the left lane when we got an audible chime followed by a dash board message, “Stop Safely - Vehicle will Shut Off Soon”. I was hoping the warning would give me enough time to get off the highway. I used my turn signal to change lanes but the traffic in the right lane would not let me in. I pushed on the gas and there was no engine response and the check engine light was on. I put my hazard lights on and rolled to a stop. The vehicle was blocking the entire left lane and there was no where else to go. We needed a tow. Roadside assistance instructed us to call 911. The vehicle is being repaired under warranty. The engine and transmission are available for inspection upon request to the rental car owner. My family and the other highway drivers safety was put at risk. It is my understanding that over 60,000 HEV Pacifica vehicles were recalled between 2017-2023 for this issue. The corrective action was not to mechanically engineer the problem out of the vehicle but to install a software update to provide the dash board audible and verbal warnings. The 2024 models come with the software mod and so there is no current recall for this years model. I would argue the recall fix is inadequate. There are many roadways where it is not possible with the warning time provided to “Drive to a safe location” and safety continues to be compromised. Verbally filed with NHTSA, ID11598224 due to not having a VIN for the web site entry. My intent is not to duplicate the report, but to provide a more accurate 1st hand account with this submission.

2024 Pacifica Van with 66,000 miles started to run rough then quit in a McDonalds parking lot in Richmond VA 70 miles from our home residence. I had the car towed to a local Chrysler dealership on Saturday night before Easter. The tow truck drive was kind enough to take myself, spouse, daughter and Golden Retriever to the Richmond airport where we rented a car and drove home to Leonardtown, MD. The Chrysler dealership troubleshoot the vehicle and ordered a fuel pump.

Rear sliding doors have an electrical issue that can cause a warning that the door is open to be displayed on the drivers information screen while the vehicle is in gear, and being driven. After a moment you will hear a relay click, the error message goes away, and after a while the error message shows up again this repeats in cycles. Attempts to disable the sliding door system for safety removing fuses do not work the system will continue to indicate that the door is open even when it has been closed manually. I just had the vehicle serviced at Nye Dodge in Oneida, New York so they have better information on what caused the issue, and the fix they can be reached at (315) 277-8955 for information on the issue. The issue I would like to bring to light is that in the event of a defect it is impossible to fully disable the sliding door, and it's sensors I have attempted to pull fuses to shut the system down, and can't find anyway to totally isolate the effected door for safety. I have been reassured the door will not open however I will not be using this vehicle to transport my children until this issue is corrected. You should be able to turn the system off in the event of a failure with one of the sliding doors.

The contact stated that while attempting to depress the brake pedal, the vehicle made the same sound. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the wheel hub was loose and needed to be replaced. The wheel hub was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.

The vehicle was sold with a “minor accident” reported, but the condition suggests the damage may have been more significant. After purchase, I discovered the rear seatbelt did not work and required interior panels to be removed and replaced. A non-working seatbelt points to possible prior impact or structural damage affecting the restraint system. The vehicle also has an active safety recall for the side curtain airbags. The combination of a recall and a failed seatbelt raises concern that the vehicle may have been in a more severe collision than reported or repaired incorrectly. A failed seatbelt is a major safety hazard and should not be present at sale. The defect was confirmed by the dealer’s service department, and the vehicle has been in their possession since November 10, 2025. No warning lights appeared; the issue was found only when trying to use the seatbelt.

On 1/27/2025, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealer because it wouldn't shift to park. Dealer stated the battery failed. On 3/13/2025, the vehicle was taken to a dealer because the rear hatch opened on its own while driving and wouldn't close. Transmissions that won't shift to park present a serious roll away hazard that could injure or kill a person.

Adaptive cruise control slammed on brakes at least five times when nothing there in front or on the sides. First time I ended up with whiplash…now I hear it start to stop and I override system by speeding up. It also sometimes gets so close to car in front without braking so I have to manually brake. I’m concerned about being rear-ended if it slams on brakes for no reason. Five times there were no deer, people, etc.

CRASH INFO - 12:50 am, 2024. 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L Components failed: Airbags non-deployed; Steering Control Module; TCS System; Fwd Collision Avoidance & Lane Departure; + Not avail to inspect. Car sold at auction. Obtained Black Box & OBD info. Car owned by EAN Holdings, LLC. - Enterprise RAC. Problem not reproduced, car not drivable after crash. Did not notice any warning lamps, too busy trying to keep car on road. My wife was heading home after some late-night shopping when crash occurred on 2-lane dry & clean asphalt country road. Weather was a cool and clear moonlit night. Posted speed limit 45mph. With her headlights on she could see very well far up ahead & knew her surroundings, where the roadside became grass on the left, & a drainage ditch to the right side. She chose out of caution to drive near the center line in the roadway to give ample distance between the passenger side of the car and the soft shoulder to the right. Approx. 150 ft before she approached the turn to the left, she felt a sudden & very intense TUG from the right rear wheel. This caused the car to jerk out of control, shoving its back end to the right. It was impossible to correct the vehicle's course & what the car decided to do on its own accord. The car then proceeded to yank the steering wheel hard to the right (while she fought to keep the car turning left), and it forced her off the right shoulder of the paved road, across a 3-foot soft shoulder on the passenger side of her car. The car continued traveling off the road and over a gravel and corrugated drainpipe, landing her in a deep 5-6' irrigation ditch, and abruptly stopped on an uphill slant, making contact with a small sapling tree/weeds. The ride was so violent from all the jarring & bouncing that everything inside the car was flying around like in a front-loading washing machine. She had to exit via the back pass side door. Airbags did not deploy & car required towing. By the Grace of God, she did not die!

We were rear ended on the highway, the driver seat broke a part came off and the back of the seat went back instead of staying upright. I’m not sure where the vehicle is after we released it to the insurance company on 09-11-24 The driver has back pain and the back of the seat didn’t stay where it should have. I’m not sure we haven’t talked to the dealership just a mechanic. The insurance company had an adjuster look at it and deemed it a total loss. No there was no warnings or any.

Two children and I were put in a very dangerous situation when our Avis rental car (2024 Chrysler Pacifica) stopped suddenly, with hardly any notice, while in motion. As the driver, mid Uturn off a busy offramp near [XXX] in CA, I had a moment's notice before I lost all power to the vehicle. The engine light, battery light both went on and I lost all ability to move the car despite having 1/2 tank of gas. The car ended up in a precarious angle across a lane of traffic and put us at very serious risk of being hit from behind by other cars moving at high speed. The responding CHP officer stated in no uncertain terms was that vehicle to be driven on the freeway more that day. The tow truck operator remarked that I was the second driver of a Chrysler Pacifica that he picked up that week to report the exact same problem with the car stopping while in motion and leaving the driver with little time/space to maneuver the car to a safe position. It is commonly reported that these vehicles "reset" often soon after, with all warning lights back to normal, and so the next unsuspecting rental car customer would have no idea that they are at serious risk of rear end collision at high speeds if they are driving on the freeway in one of these vehicles. Please recall the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica to avoid serious injuries or fatalities. Repair techs should believe customers when they report this dangerous spontaneous shut down, regardless of how the car later presents at a maintenance visit. •What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine shut off and I lost the ability to accelerate. The issue only resolved when I turned off the vehicle and opened my car door while on the highway and had oncoming cars driving next to me at 55+ MPH. After shutting the car door and turning the vehicle back on, I was able to continue to drive home. The check engine light remains on while the vehicle is powered on, now. This vehicle is available for inspection upon request. •How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The engine lost power as my wife, two children, mother, and I were going down a ramp attached to the highway. We lost momentum and ability to accelerate and I had to stop on the side of the highway as cars had to drive around us as we were forced to stop half on the right highway shoulder and half in the right-most lane. •Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not that I am aware of. •Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Not as of 06May2924, I reached out to the Bachman Jeffersonville Indiana dealer that I purchased this vehicle from to collect the vehicle’s issue code(s). •Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? “Stop Safety Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon” appeared when the vehicle first had the issue occur. Now the check engine light remains on when the vehicle is powered on.
