Recalls Reported to NHTSA

The following recalls were reported to NHTSA. A recall does not by itself establish that any individual vehicle is defective.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM:THROTTLEBODY/MANIFOLD

NHTSA #26V081000

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The gears in the electronic throttle body assembly may break.

Reported consequence: Broken throttle body gears can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software and inspect and replace the electronic throttle body assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2, R25E3 and R25A9. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 27, 2026.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL

NHTSA #26V080000

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. Increased temperatures can break down the engine oil, which may cause the engine bearings to seize and become damaged, leading to engine failure.

Reported consequence: Engine failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, inspect for diagnostic trouble codes, and test drive the vehicle, free of charge. The dealer may also inspect the oil pan for metal debris, and replace the engine if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2 and R25E3. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V437. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 27, 2026.

EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT:SOFTWARE

NHTSA #24V748000

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue and 2025 INFINITI QX80 vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Reported consequence: The loss of the rearview camera image while in reverse can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: The in-vehicle infotainment software will be updated by an over-the-air (OTA) software update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or INFINITI's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R24B3 and R24B4.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL

NHTSA #25V437000

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Rogue, 2019-2020 Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50, and 2022 Infiniti QX55 vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L or 4-cylinder 2.0L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The engine bearings may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure.

Reported consequence: Engine failure increases the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or Infiniti's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25A8/A9 and R25B1/B2.

Throttle body failed, throwing code P1226

Then rear hatch glass exploded. All glass was outside the vehicle. My Rogue was in my driveway. I drove it at 11 am it sat from 12 till 5:30 pm when we heard the explosion. Very scary. It could have hurt so many people. No notice on my dash for any failure. This was reported to Nissan. No warranty. It's at my cost to replace.

NHTSA #11734482

2024 Nissan Rogue SV. Traveling home from [XXX] we were just out side of [XXX] and traveling about 60mph down the lovely [XXX] . Sunny and 40 degrees, had just driven through rain/snow and then the skies cleared up and sun came back out. All of a sudden, BAM! Sounded like something large had hit the roof but we were not under any trees and there were no other vehicles nearby. I slowed down then noticed in the rear-view the back window was shattered, but still mostly intact. By the time I was able to get to safe place to pull over some of the pieces started to fall inside. I pushed the remaining glass inside and went to Walmart and bought duct tape and plastic to make it the remaining 1.5 hours home. It's my wife's company car. Twice-- most recently in March 2026, the back up camera and the 360 camera failed. The screen went blank. Putting the transmission in Reverse did not engage the backup camera and pushing the "Camera" button on the dash did not engage the front or 360 camera. The interface screen was blank. After shutting off the car for a couple hours and then restarting it, the cameras worked again. Brought the car to a Nissan dealer and they could not replicate the symptoms. It occurs intermittently. The dealer said there was no recall for my VIN regarding the cameras. It's a 2024 Nissan Rogue SL with about 25,000 miles on it.

Vehicle was parked in driveway, got into vehicle and rear window exploded, vehicle wasn’t in motion.

NHTSA #11725115

Yesterday, I got into my car - closed my driver door - and my back rear window completely shattered. Upon research online, this is a common issue arising among Nissan rogues. My safety was at risk due to glass exploding everywhere. The dealership where I got the vehicle has been informed of this issue. The vehicle was just purchased three weeks ago and passed its inspection. There were no warning signals, etc.

NHTSA #11720512

I rented this vehicle from Enterprise on 02/05/26 with approximately 50k+ miles on it. On 02/15/26 at approximately 945am I was stopped in a restaurant drive thru and heard a loud pop and looked back to see the rear window had shattered. I got out and verified nothing had hit the window. The driver next to me stated he saw the rear window explode without notice or outside force. The temperatures were in the mid 40s and raining. The rear defrost was not on at the time nor was the rear wiper. However both were on approximately 15-30 minutes prior for about 15 minutes.

NHTSA #11718190

I turned on my Nissan Rogue 2024. The moment I hit this on button I heard a loud bang and my back windshield had completely shattered. I immediately called the dealership I bought it from Beau Townsend Nissan because I knew I had paid for security plus gold preferred and Ultimate Platinum Protection and wanted to know what to do. The dealership gave me the number to customer care, then customer care said it’s not covered under extended warranty and gave me another number, and after talking to various people I ended up back with the dealership begging for help. They said oh it definitely would not be covered. This incident posed risks as there was no warning anything would happen. Much of the glass shattered into the trunk in small crevices and I have children. The glass sprayed across the driveway where it can get in tired if a shard is missed. I had to leave my car with a huge hole outside in my neighborhood where there has been convicted theft.

NHTSA #11717981

The back window randomly exploded while I was taking my children to school and there are MULTIPLE complaints of the same issue but NISSAN hasn’t issued a recall yet. My children could have been cut or injured yet I am somehow responsible for a window exploding on its own all because I used the defoggers. That is not safe AT ALL.

NHTSA #11717565

Check engine light came on. I hooked it up to a machine and read a code P2101 which indicates. Throttle actuator controlled motor store current failure. I had told to Nissan they did an inspection came back that he cleaned the throttlebody charge me $1053 and sent me on my way and my check engine light keeps coming on and it’s a recall on this particular car with this particular problem, but my VIN number is not showing up.

NHTSA #11720317

The rear back window shattered on its own without any impact or object interference

NHTSA #11716339

We have colder weather, so we had normal ice and snow on the vehicle. I walked the backside of the vehicle to the driver side. I entered on the drivers side. I started the car and turned on the defrost, I then heard the cracking, which I assumed to be the ice. When I shut the driver door the back rear window shattered.

NHTSA #11715372

[XXX]- I have a 2024 Nissan Rogue. My car was parked in my garage. Once I pushed the button to start, the back window exploded! Broken glass everywhere. I was the only one in the car. My car has a little over 18,000 miles, and I cannot afford to get it fixed. I have insurance with a $1,000 deductible. I spoke with a dealership in Auburn, Alabama (this is where I live). I emailed pictures, and I am presently waiting for a reply. I have requested that Nissan fix this issue free of charge. NHTSA #11715236

Rear window shattered when my wife closed the drivers door.

NHTSA #11716786

Rear Window exploded while vehicle parked.

NHTSA #11713118

Back glass exploded when driver door was shut. Upon further research, this is a reoccurring problem with most Nissan Rogue models.

NHTSA #11712879

I rented this car and the moment I started the ignition the back window spontaneously spilling glass all in the back and on my garage floor. Unfortunately the rental company is declaring this my fault and will be held financially liable.

NHTSA #11712567

Back windshield spontaneously shattered while parked with no damage or external forces that could of caused this.

NHTSA #11710824

My rear window exploded while parked and powered off. Absolutely NOTHING hit it in any way. I was just reaching for the handle to get out of the car when it happened. Please note I’ve only owned this vehicle for two weeks now. This happened one week after purchase. Warranty did not cover rear glass. I paid out of pocket for replacement. (I have receipts) I have found that in the 2 weeks of owning this vehicle that this has happened to MANY Nissan Rogue owners.

NHTSA #11710934

The rear windshield in the liftgate shattered while parked in front of my apartment without any possible object that might cause the breaking of the glass. Currently there are still some shattered glass inside the liftgate which the Nissan and AutoGlass company can't totally remove and sometimes causes me some headache because the liftgate won't open.

NHTSA #11722456

UNKNOWN There are two issues. First one: After using the defrost, the rear window will shatter after the air pressure is change, opening the driver's side door to get in,the back glass shattered it. Second one: The technician informed me that on the nissian rogue, there is a gap in the back door panel that glass falls into making it nonexistent to retrieve all the glass, complicating the locking mechanism. I can hear pieces inside that door when opening it.

NHTSA #11708486

Rear door glass shattered. Vehicle was parked during work hours.

NHTSA #11705975

Back window spontaneously busting out

NHTSA #11705697

While parked, all doors closed, back window exploded

NHTSA #11704007

My sunroof exploded while driving down the road for no reason. It sounded like a gun shot and was alarming. Glass exploded and some flew off while some came into the car.

NHTSA #11699552

I opened the driver side front door, got in, closed the door & the rear window shattered. No passengers. Nobody got hurt. No police report. Nothing fell on car. Dealer was no help. Insurance company made an appointment to get it fixed tomorrow morning. No inspections. No warnings. Going to cost me $400.00. Car is available for inspection anytime. Very frustrating. Car is 16 months old.

NHTSA #11699011

The morning after I bought this certified pre-owned 2024 Nissan Rogue from a local Nissan dealer, I went to get into the car, and after sitting down and closing the door, I heard a crash. When I looked back, I noticed that my rear window had fully collapsed. I got out of the car, and saw that the entire window was cracked and had imploded.

NHTSA #11699083

Vehicle was parked in driveway on a reasonably cool day and the rear hatch window fractured

NHTSA #11699013

It was a cold morning and we defrosted our windows before leaving the house. We had been driving for about 2 hrs. We stopped and while in the car sitting with it parked, idling and with the heat on, there was a loud explosion sound and the back windshield blew out on its own on the passenger side! It flew outward behind the vehicle. It was like pressure came from within the vehicle and pushed it out? The whole back windshield started crackling for a long time and bubbling. This was very Scary when it happened! If someone or another vehicle was behind ours this could of been very dangerous or even worse if we were driving at the time and it caused an accident! I googled Rogue rear window exploding on its own and this has happened to others!!

NHTSA #11693507

I rented a 2024 Nissan Rouge from Enterprise. When it was picked up the only noticeable damage was on the driver side back wheel well where the trim piece appeared to be loose and there was a scuff on the finish. On [XXX] around [XXX] a business peer and I were just leaving Rosen Supply in Woodinville, WA. We were in the 2 front seats; car had not yet been turned on, and we were discussing our next business stop. While adding in the address to our phone GPS the back window imploded with no warnings, leaving 2 holes on the side of the window (have photos). In the moment we thought we had been shot at or someone had thrown a rock at the car. No one was around. Then a second implosion happened, and it shot glass out about 3 feet from the car into the parking lot and into the back of the car. This is when all of the glass fell out. Two people from inside of the building heard the explosions and came out to help us. They provided tools to clean up the glass in the parking lot. This was a very traumatic event and caused my peer to have heart palpitations and other concerns. Had I known this was something that could happen I would have chosen a different vehicle to rent. NHTSA #11692595

As I was stopped, my rear windshield spontaneously exploded. There were no outside factors, no rocks, no external trauma.

NHTSA #11685868

Driving in the way to work when I heard a pound pop I thought someone was shooting at my car, looked in the. Back & my window was shattered broken.

NHTSA #11718083

Faulty infotainment system Here are some of the issues that occur on an ongoing basis - since I’ve purchased this brand new Rogue - not all of them at one: - doesn’t come on - no sound - no AM or FM stations come up - 1/2 the speakers have no sound

NHTSA #11682257

I have problems with my reverse camera. When in reverse sometimes it will freeze or show a blank screen other times it will act normal. I went to the Deloris 3 times 1 time they replaced the camera but it kept doing the same thing the other 2 they could not verify.

NHTSA #11680016

Radio loses audio and infotainment system resets on random starts. Internet research shows this common problem among 2024 Nissan Rogue Platinums and requires a manufacturer fix to software system

NHTSA #11665062

While driving at 65 mph with cars behind me, I was in a passing lane and car came to a hault in the middle of traffic to a complete stop. Gas pedsl or brake pedal wouldn't work. Car was half on road, half on median. Scary situation.

I had just pulled into my driveway and got out and shut the drivers side door and my back window spontaneously shattered. I read online that this has been happening with Rogues in my model year range.

NHTSA #11728968

I PURCHASED MY 2024 NISSAN ROGUE 12 DAYS AGO AT BOB BELL IN BALTIMORE MD. DAY 12 I WAS LEAVING WORK LIKE USUAL. WHEN I CLOSED MY DRIVER DOOR THE REAR HATCH GLASS EXPLODED INTO A MILLION PIECES. CLEARLY THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A MANUFACTER DEFECT IN THE GLASS FOR THIS TO OCCUR. CONTACTED DEALER AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. BOTH ARE TELLING ME THAT THIS IS NOT A RECALL ISSUE NOR IS IT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. AFTER ARRIVING HOME I GOOGLED THIS SITUATION AND COME TO FIN THAT THIS A VERY COMMON ISSSUE IN THE 2021-2024 NISSAN ROGUES. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST NISSAN ABOUT THIS ISSUE. AT LEAST IN MY SITUATION I WAS PARKED WHEN IT EXPLODED BUT HAD I BEEN DRIVING THAT GLASS FLYING COULD HAVE BEEN A MUCH WORSE SITUATION. I JUST WANT NISSAN TO OWN UP TO THIS AND COVER THE REPAIR. I ALSO WANT TO MAKE OTHERS AWARE OF THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. BEINGS THAT I WAS LEAVING WORK THE WHOLE EVENT WAS CAPTURED ON SECURITY FOOTAGE.

NHTSA #11725514

while driving home, I came to a red light. The rear windshield of the vehicle suddenly exploded then soon shattered without any impact. No prior damage or warning signs were present. This poses a significant safety risk.

NHTSA #11714626

Vehicle parked in driveway. Entire rear window shattered spontaneously. Discovered the damage when I went to drive it again. Simple google search shows it is a known issue with 21-25 model year Nissan Rogues

NHTSA #11711694

At about 9:40 a.m. on January 5, 2026, the rear window shattered. The incident occurred on I-26 northbound, about 10 miles North of Charleston, SC. Temperature was about 50 degrees. No road hazard. No throw rock or road debris. And we were not near any overpass. Just a loud bang and the window failed. Two holes were created and the rest of the window was completely crazed. No foreign object was found inside the car, only fragments of broken glass. Our safety was never at risk. I maintained speed and pulled into the first rest area to check the damage.

NHTSA #11708961

My wife [XXX] ) was traveling in her 2024 Nissan Rouge at highway speed on her way to work on 1/5/26, in Southeast Alabama, no defroster on, or other car in sight. While traveling her rear windshield randomly busted into a thousand pieces. She immediately notified myself [XXX] ) and the local Sheriffs Office, first believing someone had shot at her car. After deputies arrived and a thorough investigation, revealed that fortunately no one had shot at the car. That it appeared to be a random flaw/defect with the back glass windshield. They also noted that that a similar incident occurred last week mid morning, with a gentleman in a same make and model rouge, as he was traveling, busted without warning. I attempted to call dealership, but they send unbothered and informed me nothing could be done due to no active recall. Upon my own investigation today, I have noted and located many instances of the same occurring in similar models, and even some class actions suits potentially in the works. Please review this with the correct persons and hopefully find some safe resolve. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

ON CHRISTMAS DAY 2025 AROUND NOON MY 2024 NISSAN ROGUE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE AS ALWAYS. GARAGE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 45 F. I OPENED THE REAR HATCH AND HEARD A CRACKLING SOUND. WHEN I CLOSED THE HATCH THE GLASS EXPLODED INTO A MILLION PIECES. CLEARLY THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN THE GLASS FOR THIS TO OCCUR. CONTACTED DEALER, THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS IS NOT A RECALL ISSUE NOR IS IT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, AFTER CHECKING WITH SOME OFF-SITE AUTHORITY, THEY SAID THAT SINCE THE CAR WAS SO NEW THAT NISSAN WOULD MAKE AN EXCEPTION AND PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE GLASS. LATER THEY SAID THAT SINCE IT HAD MORE THAN 36,000 MILES THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT AFTER ALL. HOWEVER THEY DID SAY THAT THEY WOULD "SPLIT THE COST" WITH ME. I ASKED HOW MUCH MY SHARE OF THAT COST WOULD BE, AND WAS TOLD $480. THIS WAS THE EXACT PRICE QUOTED BY SAFECO TO COME TO MY HOUSE AND REPAIR IT ON THE SPOT. THIS A VERY COMMON ISSUE IN THE 2021-2024 NISSAN ROGUES.

On 12/16/25 at approximately 6:30am central time, the rear back glass spontaneously shattered while driving to work. The outside temperature was below 30 degrees causing some frost build up. I turned on the rear defrost, and within a few minutes, I heard a loud pop and then a cracking, crumbling like noise and looked back to see the glass was completely shattered.

NHTSA #11705294

Rear windshield/window spontaneously shattered and then fell apart after remote-starting in freezing (below 32⁰F) temperatures. I have photos. Nissan says there's nothing they can do (even with the expensive bumper to bumper warranty we paid for). If this had happened while we were driving my family could've been hurt by flying glass.

NHTSA #11705462

Rear window shattered spontaneously ~11/24/25. It was replaced by an approved glass company (insurance) and it again shattered spontaneously ~12/24/25 and was again replaced.

While at work with my new car (I bought it the day before), I was sitting in my car and heard a pop. When I looked behind me, the whole windshield had shattered but not fallen out of the frame yet. Little by little pieces kept falling. I had it repaired that day in order to keep the vehicle functional. There were no warnings previously. I still have the receipt for the replacement window and I have pictures that show the window damage.

NHTSA #11721620

rear tailgate window exploded for no reason. i work for a fleet company and we have had this happen on at least 8 nissan rogues some in winter some in summer. Glass being blown out is extremely frightening while driving and could increase the risk of a crash. its also a safety issue with glass entering the passenger compartment. This has been reproduced 100s of times. there's plenty of online forums where other rogue owners have experienced the same issue.

The driver was able to coast to the side of the road, where the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine had fractured and had caused the failure, and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, approximately 9 days after the repair was completed, the failure reoccurred while driving at approximately 55 MPH. The vehicle was towed to the dealer again. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with another fracture in the engine, causing engine failure. The dealer stated that the engine needed to be replaced again. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the Better Business Bureau for assistance. The failure mileage was 23,500.

After shopping, I attempted to start my car and received the "ENGINE MALFUNCTION Reduced Power, Service Now" warning. Thankfully, I was not driving when this happened, as the car had no power to move! It is currently in the dealership, where they state it is an EGR valve -- on a vehicle with less than 11,000 miles on it. Had I been on the highway and this happened - no power -- I only hope I could have coasted to the roadside without being hit!

The rear window completely exploded with no impact from anything. The vehicle was stationary and stopped at a stoplight when it sounded like a gunshot and the rear window completely exploded. There were cracks all over the entire rear window and the window quickly started to fall apart completely. This was dangerous because there was glass falling everywhere on the road and into the car. Now the car is open to the elements. Nissan will not cover this repair under warranty and the insurance will not pay to fix this issue without charging a deductible. Nissan dealership is charging $245 to even look at the vehicle. There is currently a class action lawsuit against Nissan for this issue with other Nissan Rogues for Nissan using glass that is too thin for the vehicle.

On January 23rd 2026, my rear window shattered while parked in the parking lot at work. I have video footage from my job’s security cameras which confirms there were no external forces involved nor, thankfully, no one was as in the vehicle at the time it occurred. This occurred while the vehicle was parked; it spontaneously shattered. The back windshield could have unexpectedly exploded while my children were in the vehicle, and the flying glass could have injured my children. The windshield has since been replaced, but there have been no issues to occur since the initial incident. At the time of the incident, I contacted the local police to file a police report. A certified Nissan dealers did inspect my windshield, and the Nissan Warranty group did not replace the windshield citing that I was over the 36,000 miles warranty (42967 miles). The service rep was helpful during the process and was even surprised that the warranty group denied the repair, since I was not far over the 36,000 miles. I had to pay out of pocket to replace my windshield and to also cover my rental for the time while I was waiting to hear back from the warranty group. I had to leave my vehicle at the dealership during this time. A total of 33 days, which was an expense I could not afford but I needed my transportation back. My insurance company did not cover any portion of the claim since it was a manufacturer failure. There were no warning, odd noises or damage to the windshield prior to it shattering. There is an active lawsuit against Nissan for not performing a recall on this defect, and it is a known defect.

When the car is driven in cold weather (under 32 degrees F) There is a loud squealing noise that is rotational in nature from the RIGHT FRONT. It sounds like the drive axle bearing/wheel bearing/output bearing on the transmission possibly. It increases in pitch and repetition with speed and is most noticeable under 25mph. It will go away once you hit 40ish MPH.... But then come back when you slow down. The noise is gone at idle and gone at a stop. It is not the HVAC, and is definitely something rotational in the Axle or a bearing. I know others having the same exact issue 2022-2024 Rogue SV and Platinum models. Mine is a 2024 Platinum. Absolutely disappointed as this is my 8th brand new Nissan and the quality gets worse and worse it seems like.

The vehicle experiences a severe loss of power, placing it into a reduced-power or limp mode that prevents the vehicle from exceeding approximately 10 mph. The issue has occurred repeatedly despite multiple repair attempts. The battery was replaced initially, after which the vehicle broke down while still at the dealership. The service department removed the new battery & reinstalled the original battery, at which point the vehicle temporarily operated normally. On a subsequent visit for the same reduced-power condition, the dealership replaced the throttle body chamber and multiple gaskets. This repair resolved the issue only for a short period of time. During a third service visit, I paid approximately $3,000 for additional repairs; however, the same issue occurred again, & I was unable to safely leave the dealership parking lot. The vehicle is currently available for inspection, testing, & servicing upon request. All prior inspections & repair attempts are documented in dealership service records. My safety & the safety of others were placed at significant risk because the vehicle unexpectedly loses power while being driven. The vehicle abruptly slows & cannot exceed 10 mph. This occurred while driving on the highway during heavy 5:00 p.m. traffic, as well as during normal roadway driving. A sudden and severe reduction in speed in traffic creates a high risk of rear-end collisions or other serious accidents, particularly if surrounding drivers are unable to react in time. Yes. The dealership where the vehicle was purchased is the same dealership that has serviced the vehicle on all three occasions. Each time, the dealership has inspected the vehicle and represented that the issue was repaired. However, the problem continues to occur immediately after service, including instances where the vehicle could not be driven out of the dealership parking lot. Any qualified service center test-driving the vehicle would be able to observe & reproduce. Yes check engine light

Subject: Formal Complaint and Denial of Recall Reimbursement – Nissan North America To Whom It May Concern, I am filing a formal complaint against Nissan North America for refusing to reimburse $6,703 in out-of-pocket expenses related to a failed VC-Turbo engine and a faulty electronic throttle body. Took my Nissan Rogue in for simple oil change, and was told I need NEW tires after 18,000 miles

NHTSA #11712747

I was sold dry rotted tires (235/60/R18/103H), on Sunday, March 23, 2025. I noticed hazardous condition while driving on Freeway under the speed limit where tires were making very loud grinding/riveting sound and I couldn't drive a normal freeway speed, on March 25, 2025. The front driver tire was sold to me damaged where it doesn't properly hold the required air to operate my vehicle safely at 16 psi. I proceeded to get tires inspected at Walmart where I was alerted that it wasn't safe to drive the vehicle due to the conditions of the tires. I contacted business and asked to speak with manager at the location wo didn't offer any solution to rectify this selling of dry rotted hazardous tires. I was simply told to provide a copy of inspection report and my receipt with no resolution to this date where my vehicle hasn't been moved due to the hazardous condition of the tires that affect my safety.; and is a deceptive business practice.

Seat Belts2 complaints

The driver seatbelt latchplate binds and continually cinches tighter during normal driving. The issue occurs where the seatbelt webbing passes through the latchplate slot where the shoulder belt transitions to the lap belt. There appears to be insufficient clearance in the latchplate slot, allowing the webbing to slide easily in the tightening direction but not easily in the loosening direction. As a result, the belt continually tightens and specifically pulls the lap portion tighter, while slack cannot be easily fed back through the latchplate without excessive force. This creates a driver distraction because the belt must be forcibly loosened while driving to relieve pressure on the lap. When slack is created to restore comfort, the slack must be maintained because the belt will not easily slide back through the latchplate. This creates a safety trade-off between driving distraction from repeatedly loosening the belt or maintaining excess slack in the restraint system. Two Nissan dealerships inspected the vehicle and declined repair, stating the system is operating within specification.

Incident Date: 04/05/2026 Vehicle Speed: 65–70 MPH Location: [XXX] Component: Engine / Power Train / Fuel System Summary of Safety Defect: While traveling at highway speeds (65–70 MPH) with four passengers (including two children), the vehicle suffered a sudden, catastrophic engine failure without any prior warning or symptomatic noise. The Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) began flashing rapidly, immediately followed by a total loss of motive power. Despite throttle input, the vehicle failed to maintain speed or accelerate, creating an immediate hazard in high-speed traffic. Hazardous Conditions encountered: Upon the loss of power, I observed white smoke trailing from the exhaust and a strong burning odor entering the cabin from the engine compartment. To avoid a high-speed rear-end collision, I was forced to perform an emergency maneuver across active lanes of traffic to reach the shoulder. Due to the immediate fear of a vehicle fire (indicated by the smoke and burning smell), my family was forced to evacuate the vehicle and wait outside in a remote location for six hours. Correlation to Known Defects: This incident appears to be a direct manifestation of the defect described in Nissan Recall ID R25E3/R25E4 / NHTSA ID 26V0801 regarding Engine Main Bearing Seizure. The failure resulted in a complete loss of propulsion and a potential fire risk due to fluid ignition or a breached engine block. Post-Incident Status: The vehicle was towed to Nissan of Cumming and is currently awaiting a formal inspection for internal metal debris. The failure of this critical component under highway conditions posed a life-threatening risk to my family and other motorists. Structure,Visibility/Wiper1 complaint

While driving under normal conditions, I heard a sudden loud pop and the rear windshield completely shattered without any collision, debris impact, or external force. The glass failure appeared spontaneous. I have two young children and shattered glass entered the cabin, creating a serious safety hazard. I have since learned that there are multiple consumer reports of spontaneous rear hatch or rear windshield shattering in 2021–2025 Nissan Rogues. This appears to be a recurring safety defect.

Reverse & Forward collision warning light flashing on the dash at different periods of time, temperature and speed of vehicle. Unknown if warning light is flashing if collision airbags will deploy if in accident. Reported to Four Star Nissan in Denton, TX, service tech advised no issue, could be because I drive on "rural" roads, when though my driving is all highway miles, showed the service techs the display, showed them pictures and videos of the warning light coming and going, and they said there is no error. It does not have a constant display, it comes and goes at different times, speeds, temperatures. First appeared approx. 1 week after I purchased the vehicle on 12/23/2025, light started displaying on 01/04/26 and has continued since.

Suspension1 complaint

When recently driving my 2024 Nissan Rogue on(7/4), I noticed and felt knocking and it seemed as something was loose in the wheel suspension on the front passenger side. I also experienced vibration in the steering wheel. It felt as if the suspension was coming apart. I pulled over to see if something was under the car, but there was nothing. After driving a couple of miles, it decreased but it still happens every now and then. I took it to the Nissan dealership for an evaluation. They checked it out but could only reproduce the knocking noise once, and it wasn't that severe so there wasn't anything that they could do. They checked the suspension and everything checked out okay. So I'm still driving my vehicle, but I don't feel 100% safe, because I don't want to be on the highway and this happens again. I feel that there is something wrong, but I guess it won't get fixed until it actually breaks. I wanted to report this issue in case any other Rogue owners experienced the same problem.

Electrical System,Air Bags,Unknown Or Other1 complaint

The Body Control Module System goes to sleep intermittently. Nissan reports that it is a manufacturer error but Nissan has 0 fixes or recommendations. They refuse to buy the car back. The BCM system is a safety hazard as my lights don't always come on and it is interconnected with other systems including the air bag system and safety restraint system. This is a huge concern to me as I don't want to have to worry if my restraints or air bags will work when needed. Also, I have had other issues related to infotainment system. It is a brand new vehicle and should not have all these issues causing me to question if I'll be safe. I have video proof of all issues.

Electrical System,Unknown Or Other1 complaint

I have a 2024 Nissan Rogue Platinum with a faulty infotainment system. The screen has not worked since the day I took delivery of the car, the dealership assured me only a simple update would be needed to fix the issue. However, several months and only 3k miles later, I've had the screen replaced on the car. Unfortunately, this has not fixed the issue, it still malfunctions. (Photo attached is a month after the replacement) From small pixel, to green lines, and even completely blacking out. The volume stops working, the backup camera done engage, and the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. I have been to the dealership over 5 times for this issues and have contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs multiple times, and yet I still have a faulty infotainment system. I am not sure why this is happening but I know I am not the only one. I was actually referred to fill out this for by someone else also having this issue. I purchased a new car for safety and reliability which have yet to see from this vehicle. Nissan keeps dismissing my concerns, they essentially told me the car is perfectly fine and functioning to standard. But, how can this be safe? I would be safer in a car from the 90's. I feel cheated, lied to, and taken advantage of. And I KNOW I am not the only one, and now just in the USA, but worldwide.
