They should be outlawed outright. Period. Jerk drivers nowadays don't bother to dim them either. They should also force manufacturers to put all of them at the same height from the road, most especially those huge pickups that jerks drive to make themselves proud and better than everyone else, that have billion candlepower headlights blasting in your rear view mirrors that blinds everything, the road, your dashboard, your windshield, the interior of your car, as well as in the front of your face. The headlights are incredibly bright and I get many complaints about how bright they are.
NHTSA #11708154
LED headlights from multiple oncoming vehicles have shined very brightly in my eyes that I've almost gone off the road more than a couple times. They don't need to be so bright! And I don't think a lot of drivers who have them really care how it affects other drivers.

KohlerWI53044United States[XXX]"Something needs to be done about this issue. It has only been getting worse over the years. There are also people now replacing more of their old headlights with these LEDs with out purchasing and replacing the reflectors; without replacing those they actually turn out to be worse than the headlights on these new vehicles that are just as bad or worse. Need to get recalls out on these newer vehicles. Own a car that is almost not possible to drive at night due to this issue. Have almost been in an accident every week being on second shift due to this issue. It is now getting so bad with these newer vehicles to the point we are even having issues driving a fullsize truck at night which has never happened to us in our 15 years of driving. The brights are also an issue as well cause of people not being able to shut them off while driving past you or passing. Please do something about this already. It really is out of hand." NHTSA #11708152
Blinding LED headlights from this vehicle around 5:45pm on way to grocery store. Height of headlamps above ground level, intensity of the weird light emitted caused my wife & I in our vehicle to be blinded to pedestrians in store parking lot. As a driver, after getting a full blast of this light I was seeing blanked out visual field. Sight started coming back, I continued process of parking, (after obstructing traffic from stopping until I could see) and scared a pedestrian I could not see even after the sensation of returned sight. Please do something about these unnecessarily bright lights. I must not be the only one.
NHTSA #11708155
As I am driving at night, I am frequently blinded by excessively intense headlights, very often those on large pickup trucks like the F150. If I blink my high beams at them, the blink back with their even more intense high beams! It is obvious that the 1) the low beams are far too bright for oncoming drivers and 2) that the low beams are not aimed at the road, but at the windshields of oncoming cars. This temporarily blinding of oncoming drivers is very problematic, especially for drivers with cataracts that have not yet been treated. My wife has had to stop driving at night. The NHTSA should adopt maximum brightness standards and the police should enforce them with tickets and fines for those who violate these standards.
NHTSA #11708142
on coming lighting blinded me which caused the vehicle to go off the road onto the shoulder since I could not see the roadway
NHTSA #11709465
The headlights on this truck are fogging up every time it rains. Ford says it’s “normal”. Fogging of headlights seems like a no brainer safety issue. These are LED headlights so the lights don’t get warm/don’t reduce fogging with heat. Fords technical service bulletin says this is acceptable fogging. I know of no other vehicle that has fogging headlights. This is a known issue for 2024/2025 Ford F150.
NHTSA #11704967
My life was put at risk because of an oncoming Ford F-150. The placement and brightness of the headlights are such that oncoming drivers are immediately blinded and unable to see anything as the vehicle approaches and passes. I was nearly run off the road because I was completely blinded by the brightness if the headlights. I almost crashed into a tree. I barely escaped with my life intact.
NHTSA #11708230
The headlights of this car, and many cars of this modern age, have headlights that are blinding and make it significantly more difficult and dangerous to drive at night.
NHTSA #11708518
Excessive blinding headlights. Dangerous to encounter oncoming traffic at night. Too bright and alignment/aim is too high.

See attached document for complaint. The safety recall repair has been pending for over five months due to repeated parts unavailability at the authorized Ford dealership. Despite ongoing communication with the dealer and Ford Motor Company, no repair timeline or resolution has been provided. This prolonged delay involves a safety-related defect and creates an ongoing risk. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) review Ford Motor Company’s handling of this recall and its compliance with federal recall obligations.

I reached out to the Ford Motor Company’s recall department at corporate headquarters on 1/7/2026, regarding the safety recall for my 2024 Ford F-150. My truck has been at my local dealership since November waiting for the necessary repairs. The hold-up is due to the replacement part being on back order, and I’ve been informed by a Ford representative that it won’t be available for dealerships until the third or fourth quarter of 2026. This situation is extremely concerning for me, especially since I rely on my truck to tow a travel trailer. I would like to know how we can expedite this safety recall. Can you help me with my issue with Ford? I have not found another avenue to express my safety concerns for my truck. My 10R80 transmission in my F-150 as an absolute mess. Brand new, less than 16k miles. Hard shifting up and down, shift delays, & clunks. The shift delay between gear 1-3 (it likes to skip gear 2) is downright dangerous. Leaving my parking garage at work, while actively slowing down, the truck decides to shift (very much delayed) from gear 1-3, propelling my truck forward and almost striking my parking garage gate. The transmission behavior on this truck is both unacceptable and dangerous. Imagine a city/pedestrian scenario. I took it to the dealer, was told "they could not replicate" and they sent me home with no solution. They said there were no error codes. I was told they "reflashed the transmission." There has been no observable improvement. Ford knows this transmission is an absolute mess and refuses to do right by the customer. They answer only to their real customer, the board of directors.

Recalls: First notice August 2025; second notice Recall #25V512 dated March 2026.The wheel and hub bolt in the rear end may become loose or break. Continued driving with a broken bolt may lead to wear within the axle and damage the axle hub splines. Vehicles with damaged axle hub splines may roll in Park without the parking brake applied, or, alternatively, loss motive power or both of which can increase the risk of a crash. Complaint: I have several unresolved recalls on my vehicle but am concerned about two open safety recalls on my 2024 F‑150. I received the first recall notice in August 2025 and the second (25V512) in March 2026. My dealer, Scenic Ford in Mount Airy, NC, told me they do not have the parts and cannot get them. On September 17, 2025, I contacted Ford directly and was told the recall would be elevated to an emergency order and parts would be shipped. As of today 03/24/2026, the dealer still has no parts, and Ford has not provided a repair date. I contacted Ford Consumer Care and was told that they do not have parts. The safety recall states that the parts are now available. The rear‑end noise is getting worse, indicating the defect is progressing. I am concerned the vehicle may become unsafe to drive. I have owned Fords since 1967 and have never experienced this level of delay on a safety recall. I am writing to document that Ford cannot give me a date to fix my F-150 and has told me to continue to drive my 2024 F-150 and will not give me a replacement vehicle to use until mine can be repaired. In case the rear end locks up and causes a major accident this is documentation that Ford has refused to fix or replace my defective 2024 F-150 or to supply a replacement vehicle.

A Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power light showed up on my 2024 Ford F150 4x4 (9700 miles) [XXX] and again [XXX] and several other times including today. I immediately took it to Ford of Columbia in Columbia TN, and the diagnoses that there was an issue with the Gear Shift Lever Module (Part #RL3Z7210AD) and it was ordered. I did a follow-up with Ford of Columbia Sept on Sept 16, 2025 and said the part was still on backorder and may arrive by the end of the Sept. The code clears itself after setting for a short time, but when idling or driving at low, medium or high speed, the light on the dash (shape of a Wrench) comes on. I have not yet lost power as this Issue occurs, but the Dealer, both Ford of Columbia (TN) and Reiselman Ford in Dickson (TN) said not to drive it long distances as the Truck could lose power causing an accident or stranding us on the road. Evidently, both dealerships have indicated that Ford Manufacturing or the Gear Shift Lever module are trying to come up with a remedy, but so far, the part is still on backorder and no one seems to know when it will arrive. Involved in total loss of truck and trailer April 11. 2025 by possible rear axle bolts breaking while hauling a trailer causing loss of control, violent trailer sway, difficulty braking and steering resulting in a wreck. We were towing our RV trailer when the wreck happened. We were lucky to be able to walk away because the trailer ended up on its right side and the truck on its roof. If this happens to other drivers injuries or fatalities are possible. Ford issued a safety recall August 2025. We were not aware of the possibility of the axle bolts breaking until the safety recall letter was received August 25, 2025. When the wreck accrued there were no prior symptoms of a problem. A walk around inspection was done minutes before the wreck.

The truck had been parked in our driveway for approximately 24 hrs when my wife went to the drivers side door to retrieve something that she had left in the center console. After she retrieved what she was looking for she pushed the door closed and the rear window spontaneously and completely shattered. There had been no prior damage whatsoever. The vehicle was towed to our Ford dealership on March 17th. The service manager at our dealership submitted our warranty claim to Ford and then informed us ~36 hrs later that Ford had not issued any TSBs or SSMs for the 2024 rear window or related parts / functions and therefore would decline to repair the rear window. We have asked them to resubmit the claim because we were not satisfied with Ford declining it. It is now April 2nd and we still have not heard back.

Have had the truck for 11 months (since new) I have never had the issue. The display (for radio, navigation etc.) just started switching to a different screen. I was using the navigation and the screen switched to display radio information without being touched. When I switched to Google Maps from car play. The map just froze up and would not unfreeze until I turned off the truck and restarted. Had I been going somewhere and was depending on the navigation system. I could have been in a situation that could have caused an accident. Ford engineers are saying this is normal!

The rear glass panel of the panoramic sunroof on my 2024 Ford F-150 (approximately 8,800 miles) suddenly and spontaneously shattered while I was driving. There was a single upward-pointing fracture near the front-center of the panel, and the rest of the glass fragmented outward from that point. There was no impact, no debris, no nearby vehicles, and no physical evidence of anything striking the roof or surrounding areas. No objects were found inside the vehicle. The sunroof is available for inspection upon request. This failure created an immediate safety risk. The shattered panel was directly above my two children seated in the rear, and falling glass fragments posed a significant danger of injury. A sudden overhead glass failure also presents a hazard to other drivers if fragments are expelled from the vehicle. There were no signs or symptoms before the breakage. The Ford dealership inspected the vehicle but did not identify any impact damage and did not confirm a cause. The failure has not been reproduced, but I found multiple similar reports from other Ford owners, suggesting this may be consistent with spontaneous internal stress failure of the tempered glass. Given the complete lack of impact evidence and the serious safety risk to occupants and other motorists, I am reporting this as a panoramic sunroof safety defect.
NHTSA #11702717
While driving there was a loud "boom" noise and the panoramic sunroof rear glass panel exploded. I was not driving under any overpasses, and no objects were kicked up on the roadway in front of me. Pieces of shattered glass fell down onto my two small children in the backseat who thankfully were not cut by the glass. Center section of the glass was blown out, and the surrounding glass was pushed outward indicating that the glass blew out from inside outward. After pulling over I observed two cracks running the length of each side of the glass near the edges, indicating possible stress cracks from expansion of the glass inside of the frame. This is a known issue by Ford Motor Company, with a current class action lawsuit regarding various Ford vehicles. The truck was taken to a dealership who denied a warranty claim, even given the circumstances regarding the incident.

My vehicle stalls at red lights in traffic. Warning lights tell me to put it in park and restart the engine. It started around July of 2025 just after a year of owning it. First time to service they could not replicate, but two subsequent visits to the dealer has been replicated repeatedly! They changed battery and GSM but failed to fix the problem. Returned it to me and it stalled repeatedly, as many as 4 times in a 20 minute period. I am terrified I will be injured and at some point I’ll not be able to restart it, one attempt took 4 times to try and restart it. Drivers are angered and honk and yell at me and am afraid I will be a victim of road rage or get hit. Started a case (can provide case number)with Ford back in October to buyback under lemon law. They have refused thus far to move forward, even though it has been in service now for a total of 6 weeks for the same problem and has been replicated by a Ford Master Tech and Ford Engineer. While traveling at cruising speed (70 MPH) on Interstate 95 South, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic electrical and mechanical failure, resulting in an immediate engine stall. The vehicle lost all propulsion. Due to the sudden loss of power, the vehicle could not safely clear the active lanes of traffic, coasting to a stop near an exit ramp and dangerously blocking highway traffic.Upon attempting to restart the vehicle to move it out of harm's way, the vehicle emitted a rapid clicking noise and again stalled out. Because this vehicle utilizes an electronic shift-by-wire system, the total power failure permanently locked the transmission into "Park." The vehicle could not be shifted into "Neutral" or "Drive" to be pushed safely off the road. This total vehicle failure created an immediate, life-threatening hazard for the occupants and surrounding motorists on a high-speed interstate, requiring emergency police intervention to manage traffic until a flatbed tow truck arrived.

I am submitting a formal safety complaint regarding a known but unresolved software defect affecting the oil life monitoring system in the 2024 Ford F-150 (non-Lightning models). Ford has internally acknowledged the issue in Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 25-2331, dated July 18, 2025, but has not issued a recall or public notification to affected owners. Summary of the Defect: The vehicle's instrument panel cluster (IPC) reduces the reported oil life to 0% in less than 1,000 miles, even under normal driving conditions. Ford attributes this to flawed software logic in the IPC module. The oil life monitor is a critical engine maintenance indicator relied upon by vehicle owners to prevent premature wear or catastrophic engine failure. Faulty or misleading oil diagnostics can result in: Drivers disregarding future oil life warnings, assuming they are incorrect Operators running engines with degraded oil beyond safe limits Loss of trust in onboard diagnostics, affecting broader vehicle safety behavior Avoidable mechanical damage, particularly for owners following the vehicle’s built-in guidance Ford’s TSB instructs dealers to reprogram several modules, including the IPC, APIM, BCM, GWM, and TCU, but only if a customer complains. There is no recall, no public campaign, and no direct owner communication. This leaves potentially thousands of vehicles on the road with faulty maintenance guidance—and owners unaware of it. Why This Warrants Recall Action: This is not a cosmetic or comfort issue. It is a misrepresentation of core engine health diagnostics that, if followed blindly (as owners are instructed to), could cause premature engine wear or failure. The behavior directly undermines the purpose of onboard diagnostics and scheduled maintenance. I urge the NHTSA to investigate TSB 25-2331 and consider elevating this matter to a formal safety recall, or at minimum, compel Ford to issue a customer service campaign notifying all potentially affected owners.

Since 28 June 2026, there has been an issue with braking system. I called the local Ford dealer twice and was told there has been no reported brake issues with 2024 Ford F-150. On Friday, June 12, 2026, the check engine light illuminated on my vehicle. I took it to my local Ford dealer on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The dealer diagnosed the issue as a defective Gear Shift Module (GSM) and quoted approximately $1,000 for replacement. The service advisor informed me that failure to repair this component could result in the vehicle becoming unable to shift into Park or unable to shift out of Park. This defect poses a serious safety risk, as it could prevent the truck from being properly secured when parked, potentially allowing it to roll away, into traffic, or cause injury to persons or property. Ford is aware of this issue, as a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has been issued for it. However, the repair is currently being treated as a customer-pay item rather than a warranty or safety-related repair. This condition represents a significant safety concern that could affect many other 2024 F-150 owners. I urge NHTSA to investigate this matter promptly to determine if a recall or mandatory safety fix is warranted. I am available to provide additional details, including the dealership repair order, diagnostic information, and any supporting documentation. Thank you for your attention to this important vehicle safety issue.

2024 Ford F150 tremor 14,000 miles The gearshift modual locks into position and locks the transmission (light blinking and transmission light shows on dashboard) You cannot shift to park or start the car, it will do this in drive or reverse and locks the transmission. A hard reset does not solve the issue. The First time this happened l was with my wife and two young children in the mountains around 30miles from cell service. This is a major safety issue. The dealership cannot replicate it, and therefore wont replace it even though it is a known issue. tsb 26-2066 I do have a video of this happening. Fortunately the second time this happened I was close to home. The vehicle occasionally leaves us stranded due to an un-replicated transmission lock flaw.

This is extremely dangerous since this creates issues of not knowing how fast the vehicle is going, and no indicators of what the truck is doing.

[XXX]- Vehicle did not start, instrument cluster blacked out, infotainment screen blacked out. disconnected/reconnected battery myself everything worked. [XXX]- Instrument cluster blacked out, disconnected/reconnected battery myself, everything worked, dealership still towed vehicle in to diagnose. Same day dealership said the battery was "a little low" so they put a small charge on it and everything checked out fine. They said when I disconnect/reconnect the battery the codes are reset. So i should hope that the issue does not happen again but if it does, don't disconnect/reconnect the battery. [XXX]- Instrument cluster blacked out, drove straight to dealership where the service writer witnessed the issue and started a service file. Codes were pulled and in just the four days since it was last in the dealership there were multiple codes recorded (appx 40 over the four days). Diagnosis was a bad instrument cluster/computer module that is attached. It was replaced and vehicle returned 04 August 2025. [XXX]- Instrument cluster blacked out, drove straight to the dealership, where Service Writer, Service Manager, and Parts Manager all witnessed the same issue. Started another service file. As of the writing of this information, 08 August 2025, the vehicle is still in the shop. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was involved in a rear end collision where I was at fault. I suspect the ADAS in my 2024 F-150 malfunctioned because it did not prevent the collision. I impacted the rear of a minivan at approximately 20 mph. The ADAS did not take evasive action. Previously I have had nuisance activations of the visual and aural warnings for the pre-collision system, followed by a warning message that radar guided cruise control was not available.

As I went to reverse to pull out of a parking area, the truck accelerated, I applied the brakes and the truck continued going dragging the front tires at one point. I decided at the last min to attempt to put the truck in neutral or park and at that time it was stopped between two trees. This could of been very bad if my kids were in the yard playing or many other scenarios. The 2024 F150 is still at the dealership waiting on approval to do body work. We have requested they run diagnostics or telemetry on the trucks systems to verify the problem but after a month that has not been done yet.

I purchased this vehicle new 7/31/25. Within the first week of ownership I noticed a noise coming from the rear axle. Brought into Ford dealer for diagnosis at 723 miles: tech notes indicated that the abs tone ring was not manufactured correctly and was hitting the ABS wheel speed sensor. The sensor had visible impact marks. The rear axle assembly was replaced under warranty. The repair took over 10 days. At this point I was concerned about the Q/C and build quality of the vehicle. I asked Ford for an extended warranty as a goodwill gesture, which was denied. This failure was related to a Federally regulated safety system: ABS brakes. ~5 months later on 1/8/26 (12, 336 miles), I attempted to place the vehicle in park using column shifter, a service light came on and the truck was not responding to the shifter input. I turned the truck off with the parking brake engaged, restarted truck and another warning light came on saying place vehicle into park. The truck would not start and I was left stranded without warning. The vehicle was towed to the nearest dealer. Diagnosis revealed the shifter module was faulty and needed to be replaced. Ford had a TSB about this issue. The repair took 7 days. At this point I'm extremely concerned about the reliability of this vehicle. This has been two major failures within less than 6 months of ownership. Ford contacted me asking how my experience was with the vehicle. I informed them I was very disappointed and had safety concerns. I asked for an extended warranty which was denied. I then escalated the ticket to asking for a voluntary buyback from Ford. Ford notified me that I didn't meet the criteria for a voluntary buyback and the claim was denied. Due to the repeated failures I do not feel safe continuing to drive this vehicle and I want Ford to step in and assist with this matter.

I’ve now had two major safety issues with my 2024 Ford F-150 STX. 1. September 2025 – Loss of Acceleration While Driving I was driving north at about 40 mph when my truck suddenly stopped accelerating. It felt like it went into neutral on its own. I pressed the gas and nothing happened — the truck just started coasting. There were no alerts, no warning lights, and no explanation. I had to safely pull off the road while the truck was basically free-rolling. 2. Most Recent Incident – Emergency Brakes Slamming On in an Empty Parking Lot When I was leaving a facility recently, I was driving slowly through an empty Walgreens parking lot — no cars or obstacles anywhere around me. Out of nowhere, the truck’s emergency brakes slammed on extremely hard. It didn’t just happen once — the brakes locked up five times within about a minute while I was in Drive. There were zero warning messages on the dash each time. The jolts were so violent that my son flew forward and hit the seat in front of him. My right leg slammed into the dash, and the impact was so strong I ended up in the ER afterward with severe pain on my right side.

The vehicle a 2024 F150 Hybrid with under 3,000 miles. First reported engine warning light was on 4/4/2025 at 2:23PM. The warning light indicated that "service engine soon alert is on because an issue has been detected with the fuel tank or lines" After a week while waiting for the appointment date the warning light went off. Then on 4/24/2025 at 3:28PM the same warning light reappeared. Took the truck to the dealership and they said they had to drop the. fuel tank to repair and issue. After 2 days the vehicle was returned to me. The problem was as noted on the Ford dealership invoice states, "Fuel Vapor Vent Valve is leaking". That was replaced. Also the initial diagnostic noted the "FTP would not hold vacuum even when canister and vapor blocking valve are closed"

Seat belt sensors do not work correctly for back seat passenger. Seat doesn’t register people sitting in it or when seat belt is buckled sometimes. Issue was reported to dealer and taken for repairs u see warranty, but never completed. Causes issues when carrying passengers because i can’t tell if people are buckled. Sometimes driving down road it alerts randomly that seat belt was unbuckled and causes risk that could lead to an accident when I have to adjust it for a child while driving down the road. This is a wide spread reported issue for these trucks and should be recalled.

On 4/22/2026 while flat towing this vehicle behind my motorhome, it burst into flames. The trip began in [XXX] . Driving south on XXX, I stopped about 120 miles later at a rest stop near XXX. I did a complete walk around inspection. There were no issues, everything looked fine. We continued on and about 20 miles later another vehicle driver was telling me frantically to pull over. I looked at my rear camera and saw the Ford was smoking. This was not due to an improper neutral tow setting. The truck would have burned in the first 20 miles. I have towed this vehicle many times. I know the importance of doing it properly., Thankfully there was a good place to pull over. I tried to extinguish the fire with my extinguisher but it was too hot. I was unable to disconnect from the motorhome. Both are a total loss. I think of all the places this could have happened and how trapped we could have been. By the grace of God, nobody was injured. Yes there is a police report and an insurance claim. There were no warning signs. My braking system runs on its own battery so there was no draw on the Ford battery. Our 2025 Ford F-150 experienced a complete instrument cluster failure immediately following a manufacturer-initiated over-the-air software update. Component/System Failure: The instrument cluster/display failed completely. The speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights, and all critical driving information are inoperable. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This creates a serious safety hazard because the driver cannot monitor speed, fuel level, or warning indicators, increasing the risk of unsafe operation. Event Details: After the update installed overnight, the dashboard display was nonfunctional upon startup. The vehicle was operating normally prior to the update, and the failure occurred immediately afterward with no other issues. Inspection/Confirmation: The vehicle was taken to Southwest Ford dealership, where the issue was confirmed. We were told it is an electrical problem requiring repair. The dealership also stated another vehicle there had the same issue following an update. Manufacturer Response: The vehicle has approximately 46,000 miles and is out of warranty. We were quoted about $1,500 for repair. We opened a case with Ford Motor Company (Case #CCH-07666598-Q6Y1R3), but coverage was denied. Prior Warnings: There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. We believe this may indicate a defect in the software update system that could affect other vehicles and pose a broader safety risk. We request investigation and appropriate action.

The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his wife was in the process of parking the vehicle on the side of the street, the driver released the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended, jolted forward, and hit one unoccupied and parked vehicle, and hit another occupied vehicle stopped at the stop light. The air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained nerve pain, causing the fingers to become numb, and the driver sustained headaches, back, hips, and shoulder pain. It was unknown whether the other driver sustained injuries. The contact's wife drove to an emergency room after the collision and received medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to an auto collision repair shop, where it was serviced for the collision damage. An independent mechanic had diagnosed the vehicle with a one-pedal driving system and ABS failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the insurance company for assistance. The failure mileage was 13,290.

I own a 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum built in August 2024. The vehicle has been at the dealership for over 45 days for severe, unresolved electrical safety defects. I have attached photographic proof of the main defects. The first three photos show the driver's instrument display screen behind the steering wheel completely blacking out on startup, blinding critical safety gauges like the speedometer. The center screen stays on, but the main cluster is totally dead. Fourth and fifth photos show the driver's seat memory failure. I manually set my lumbar support to a comfortable 3-4-3 setting and save it, but every time the truck sits, the seat completely deflates to a flat zero default on startup. This causes an immediate driving distraction and ergonomic hazard. The factory navigation also randomly shouts driving directions out of nowhere without any driver input. The dealership is currently trying to install a temporary "bypass wire" hack on my factory harness just to see if it fixes the seat memory. However, Ford's internal hotline (SSSC) refuses to authorize repairs for the black screen or phantom navigation until a tech physically catches it glitching on command. Ford’s policy is to return the vehicle unrepaired if it does not fail during active observation. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate Ford's active evasion of safety recall 25V540 (Ford 25S88). The official recall paperwork states the defective supplier software entered production on May 14, 2024. My truck was manufactured in August 2024—squarely within the defective window—yet Ford is using a model-year loophole to exclude 2024 vehicles from the recall population. They are denying owners a permanent factory software remedy and forcing dealers to use unapproved, temporary physical workarounds. The vehicle is at the dealership and available for federal inspection if need be.

2024 Ford F-150 Platinum PowerBoost Hybrid. Diagnostic codes for power steering loss and CAN bus communication faults documented at 337 miles, well within the 3-year/36,000-mile new vehicle warranty. The vehicle has been at a Ford dealer since March 10, 2026 for symptoms including the truck randomly turning off while driving and loss of power steering communication. As of this report, the truck has been at the dealer 58 days without resolution. Documented diagnostic findings include: Lost Communication with PSCM (U0131), SCP/J1850 Communications Bus Fault (U1028), permanent code P1A42 Propulsion System Status Signal Performance, hybrid-specific High Voltage System Interlock U3523-00, Steering Position Sensor P060A, no communication with Power Steering Control Module, intermittent PCM communication during self-tests, BCMC fuse 69 with no power, and circuit CBB69 with no voltage. A Ford Field Service Engineer was dispatched April 23, 2026. On April 24, 2026 the dealer located damaged wiring inside a harness behind the BCMC bracket. Prior to that, the dealer escalated through R&I of multiple modules (PSCM, PCM, BCMC, Gateway Module access) over 45 days without locating the actual cause. The vehicle is currently subject to NHTSA recall 26V104 / Ford 26C10 (Trailer Module loss of communication at startup) issued 3/18/2026, status Recall Incomplete. The recall describes the same general failure mode (module communication loss at startup) the customer has been experiencing. Power steering loss while driving is a serious safety concern, particularly given the vehicle's hybrid drivetrain and CAN-bus-dependent safety systems.

After operating the vehicle normally and backing into a parking space, I stopped the vehicle and selected Park, turned the vehicle off, and exited. Before the driver’s door was closed, the vehicle began to roll forward unexpectedly. I ran back to the vehicle and reentered it to regain control, with the driver’s door still open and the seatbelt not fastened. After stopping the vehicle, I selected Reverse, at which point the vehicle surged backward unexpectedly. The open driver’s door struck another vehicle and the driver, and my vehicle continued backward, colliding with a fence and then a tree. The vehicle did not behave as expected after Park was selected, creating a serious safety risk to myself and others. Several vehicle systems appeared to malfunction or fail during the incident. The specific component or system responsible is not yet known, and the vehicle is currently available for inspection. The incident resulted in property damage and back pain, for which I later sought medical care. The vehicle has been inspected by a collision repair facility and is currently being handled through insurance. The manufacturer has been informed and stated that insurance should make determinations regarding the incident.

I am the lessee of a 2024 Ford F‑150 Lightning XLT, VIN [Insert VIN], and I am submitting this description due to repeated failures, recalls, and safety-related defects that have significantly impacted the safe operation, reliability, and value of my vehicle. Since taking delivery, the vehicle has experienced multiple malfunctions in critical systems that have been confirmed by the dealership and addressed through official recalls, yet problems persist. The primary components affected include the park pawl/park position system, which has intermittently failed to reliably lock the vehicle in park, creating a risk of unintentional rolling that endangers my safety, the safety of passengers, and the safety of others in the vicinity. This component is available for inspection upon request at the dealership. The front suspension upper control arm ball joints have also demonstrated premature wear or defects, reducing steering stability, affecting handling, and increasing the risk of loss of control, particularly in turns or under braking. Additionally, the high-voltage battery system has a documented recall due to a manufacturing defect affecting charging safety, posing risks of overheating, electrical hazards, or fire. All these defects have been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer during service visits, and the vehicle has been inspected by certified Ford technicians, with repair attempts documented in service records. Warning indicators and messages appeared prior to failures, including park and transmission warnings first noticed on [Insert Date] and battery system warnings appearing on [Insert Date]. Other symptoms included abnormal noises and handling issues linked to the front suspension, first observed on [Insert Date]. Despite following all recommended repair procedures, these defects have persisted, indicating a systemic problem likely rooted in manufacturer design or component failure. The vehicle has experienced repeated service downtime, inconvenience, loss

Front panel of the sunroof randomly shattered after closing the door to enter. The truck was in park. Ford says it must’ve been a rock or damage to it since glass doesn’t randomly shatter but there wasn’t any. Truck is less than a year old and 10,000 miles. Truck is currently at the dealership while I figure out options/warranties. Dealer initially said warranty only covers defects, not glass. Coincidentally, there was a recall notice for area near sunroof but Ford/Dealer say it has no correlation.

Truck alerts will not "shut up." "HOLD STEERING WHEEL ! PAY ATTENTION ! all while I am holding the steering wheel / paying attention. Turning the wheel (from edge of lane to edge of lane) won't stop it. Accelerating didn't stop it. Then truck taps brakes hard, then puts on flashers, then slows down to ZERO mph. Doesn't matter if you have a "Blue Cruise" subscription or not. Get the bogus alerts either way. The Blue Cruise v1.2 is horrible. The local Ford dealer owner and the service manager have had the EXACT same issue in other vehicles (and my truck). One suggestion was to "just turn off the tech" (the safety features I paid for and want) so I don't get the alerts. That's not a "fix." Some people are putting ankle weights on their wheel to stop the alerts. This is a widely known issue. I have asked to speak with a Ford "corporate engineer" on this. DENIED. Send separate certified letters to the CEOs of both Ford and Lincoln about this. Response? NO RESPONSE. Local dealer has helped as much as they could. They recognize the issues, can replicate the issues, but say they have no fix for it. It's also same issue on 2025 Lincoln Aviator (have a friend with same complaints) and the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus (my wife bought one...same issues, Lincoln dealer, same owner as my local Ford dealer, could not fix, and Lincoln bought it back). Took my vehicle into a local Ford dealership and told them that there was rattling coming out of the engine bay. Provided the service advisor with multiple videos as well as took him for a drive to show him the sound. Advised that it happens at startup and on deceleration after the turbo has spooled. Technician who worked on it left it out in a hail storm which caused over $8K in damages and then proceeded to tell me that there were rocks in my skid plate which is what caused the rattle. To this day it still is not fixed. Additionally the following TSB's have been identified as a potential rattle point; however, I believe it to be the wastegate. The cause of the accident was due to an extremely hard downshift, then extremely hard upshift. Between the speeds of 25-37 mph the truck will do a hard downshift with a 1-3 second loss of power delay. When it finally grabs gear it takes off like a rocket before grabbing the next gear and back to what feels normal. This is something I never experienced in my 2022 Ford F150 with the same motor and transmission. This particular day, I had pulled off to the side of the road to let the mail carrier go through the narrow section of the road first. This particular section, there is a huge tree right next to the road (approximately 12"-14" off the road). After the mail carrier passed, I started to speed up. Upon hitting 34 mph, the transmission shifted hard, pulled me into the ditch, and by the time the gear grabbed, and I had power to control, I hit the tree. As a habit, since this issue happened numerous times, I looked at the speedometer and just prior to impact I was at 43 mph. The transmission is not the only issue that I have been having with this vehicle. There has been a fuel consumption issue, a hard start issue (does not matter time of day), as well as a grinding issue at the front right wheel. This truck is equipped with a 36-gallon fuel tank. At the city driving mpg and a 34-gallon fill-up, I should have been getting 544 miles/tank. However, that was not the case as I was only getting 440-447 miles/tank (did not matter whether normal, eco, or sport mode driving). Each fill up was a 24-28 gallon fill-up leaving 8-10 gallons unaccounted for. A PCM update was done but it only got me to 510 miles with a 30-gallon fill-up. Each complaint I made with the transmission went ignored with me being told "this is normal for the 10 speeds. You will just need to learn to deal with it." After the PCM update with no true fix, I was told "drive it to zero MTE and calculate from there how far you can drive, then you know." This is a horrible and extremely unsafe answer to give.

Three incidents happened with this vehicle. When I put the car on reverse and reversed and stopped, the gear was then put on drive and before the accelerator was stepped on the vehicle propelled itself at a very high speed and I had to emergently step on the brakes before it hit anything. The the front collision warning did not come on and the vehicle did not brake on its own. The same thing happened in our driveway and before we could apply the brakes the vehicle crashed into a tree. This time also the front collision warning did not come on and the vehicle did not brake and went and hit a tree. There was a video that captured this incident and was shown to our Ford dealership and they did not do anything about it. We told them that the vehicle accelerates by itself and is a safety hazard. Since this did not involve any other vehicle or pedestrian the hazard was limited only to ourselves, The insurance was charged more than 10,000 to fix the damages and we also had to pay a deductible of 1000. More importantly we are unaware if this has been reported by others and can cause serious injuries to the driver, occupants of the vehicle and other who may be involved inadvertenly. Any death caused will become the responsibility of the driver even though this was not the mistake of the driver.

On [XXX], at approximately [XX], a deer unexpectedly ran out from the side of the road and struck the side of my vehicle. The deer ran out from a tree line that backs up to a neighborhood adjacent to [XXX] The deer was to the left, and the A-Pillar blocked the view of the deer, which was traveling at relatively the same speed as the truck, which kept the deer in the blind spot until impact. Despite the impact, the crash avoidance system did not detect the animal, did not initiate braking, and did not provide any audible or visual alerts that an accident had occurred. The truck continued moving forward until I manually applied the brakes. The deer was relatively similar in size to a teenager, and all though the vehicle is not designed to detect animals, it is still concerning it did not even register the deer, did not do any evasive steering, did not apply brakes when the accident occurred, and did not even notify me of the accident before, during, or post crash event. With the advertised safety features on the truck, I worry that if this had been person, the truck would not have registered the person either. Driver seat cushion. Vehicle has 1300 miles on it. moved seat forward and the seat bottom is crooked which is very uncomfortable to drive now as it causes low back pain and is not good for a person like myself with lumbar fusion. Your left leg has no seating area other than your left leg is off the cushion and between door panel seat is probably 15 degrees to right from being centered. Tried to move seat forward and back and up and down with no results. Took back to dealer 6-10-2025 they supposedly looked at the seat track and see nothing wrong with it, without removing seat you would not be able to tell what is defective which dealer didn't do. Compared seat to 2025 model seat is straight. Reading the internet seems to be a manufacturing defect with seats on Ford F150. Can provide vehicle for inspection.

Viewing this page or contacting Lucky Lemon Law does not create an attorney-client relationship; such a relationship is formed only by a signed written agreement.
The recalls and complaints shown here are reported to NHTSA and are consumer-reported, unverified allegations. They do not establish that any defect exists in any individual vehicle, and nothing on this page should be read as asserting that the 2024 Ford F 150 is defective. Counts reflect items filed with NHTSA and may not be current. “May qualify” statements are general and do not mean any particular vehicle or owner qualifies.
Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Every case is different and depends on its own facts. Lucky Lemon Law is responsible for the content of this advertisement.
