Recalls Reported to NHTSA

The following recalls were reported to NHTSA. A recall does not by itself establish that any individual vehicle is defective.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM)

NHTSA #25V158000

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2022-2023 Maverick vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 24V-267. The body and power train control modules may fail to detect a change in the 12-volt battery state of charge.

Reported consequence: An undetected low battery charge can result in a loss of electrical accessories such as hazard lights, or cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will recalibrate the body control module and power train control module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 23, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S26.

The engine block heater may crack and develop a coolant leak, causing it to short circuit when the block heater is plugged in.

Reported consequence: An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Owners are advised not to plug in their block heater until the vehicle is remedied. Dealers will replace the block heater, free of charge. Owners will also have a alternative option to replace engine block heater element with a threaded blanking plug, and remove the block heater electrical cord. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed December 3, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated September 2026. The following are consumer-reported complaints filed with NHTSA. These are unverified allegations and are not proof that any defect exists.

Electrical System10 complaints

I am reporting ongoing electrical and infotainment system failures in my 2024 Ford Bronco Sport that present a potential safety risk to the driver and others on the road. The vehicle’s infotainment system, specifically Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, does not operate reliably. Connections frequently fail, freeze, disconnect, or become unresponsive during normal driving. When this occurs, navigation, hands‑free communication, and other driver‑assistance functions become unavailable or require repeated attempts to reconnect. This malfunction creates a driver distraction hazard, as the driver is compelled to look at and interact with the center display while the vehicle is in motion in an attempt to restore CarPlay functionality. Loss of navigation guidance or hands‑free operation while driving may increase the risk of a collision. In addition, the wireless charging pad causes excessive heat buildup. After approximately 10–30 minutes of continuous contact, mobile devices become abnormally hot, and the infotainment display screen itself also becomes noticeably hot to the touch. This suggests a potential thermal management or hardware design defect. Overheating electronics raise concerns about equipment damage, device shutdown, or further system instability while driving. The vehicle has been taken to a Ford dealership multiple times for these issues. The dealership performed only brief diagnostic scans and did not attempt to reproduce the overheating condition under real‑world operating time. No repairs or corrective actions were performed, and the issues remain unresolved. Based on repeated failures, overheating, and lack of corrective action, I believe this may be a design or hardware specification issue affecting the infotainment and charging systems, rather than an isolated incident. The combination of infotainment instability, overheating, and driver distraction presents a potential safety concern that warrants investigation.

The battery has failed three times. Took it to a dealer in El Paso, Texas and they told us they put in a new battery which they lied. They did not. They charge the battery. Then we’ve took the car again to a dealer in San Antonio and they told us that there were some type of short in the battery, so they recharged the battery and fixed it, they lied again. Today the car will not start, the car is only a year and a half old and the dealer does not want to replace the battery, they want to recharge it again. This battery keeps leaving us stranded everywhere. It’s happening every two weeks.

Battery / 12V system failure. Vehicle will not start, requires jump start to start vehicle. Battery does not sufficiently re-charge while vehicle is running and requires jump start next time vehicle is needs to be started. This issue has left me stranded on multiple occasions. The dealer has not reviewed the vehicle yet and no parts have been inspected. Problem first occurred two weeks into ownership / 400miles. There are no official indicators of issue, however I did notice that the auto stop/start feature does not function when driving as an early tell that the 12V system does not have sufficient charge.

Vehicle's "infotainment center" is totally dead. No backup camera & I am disabled, have great difficulty turning around to see when I back up (I've had a cervicle spinal fusion which limits my field of vision). Dealer states no other complaints & Ford cannot provide a fix for even just the backup camera problem until Oct.

NHTSA #11738387

The Heritage edition of the Bronco Sport has a piece white trim on the dashboard that causes a very distracting reflection on the windshield directly in the driver's line of sight. I feel there should be a recall for this piece of trim — replacing it with the regular dark strip used on the other Bronco Sport editions. Thank you for your consideration!

While driving on the freeway, my Ford's sunroof spontaneously shattered. There were no vehicles in front of me, I live in San Diego County and the weather was in the mid-60's and I did not have my air on. It sounded like an explosion or gunshot. I immediately pulled off on to the shoulder and saw the shattered sunroof, and since I was about to exit to my house, I continued home and called the California Highway Patrol to report a potential gunshot to my vehicle. However, when the office arrived, he believed it was an implosion from the inside of the vehicle outward. This did appear to be the correct assessment as there was no glass inside the vehicle (I had seen glass fragments falling around the outside of my vehicle and in front of my windshield at the time of the explosive sound). Also, the glass was bent out towards the top of the vehicle consistent with an inside to outside breakage. I took it to my local Ford dealership and Ford has accepted responsibility for the defect and will replace my damaged sunroof at their cost.

NHTSA #11655079

I have cut my arm two times on the door lock while exiting the vehicle. The door lock sticks out and the point is very sharp. I have blood thinner issues and it could cause severe problems. It occurs when the door cannot be opened all the way and you turn to exit. This needs to be rounded off and the flashing from casting the part needs to be sanded off

NHTSA #11675044

When I start my Bronco, daily, there a vibration even as I drive out of my garage. Once I’m on the road I don’t feel the vibration. I have taken my Bronco to the dealer 2-3 times and they tell me the Bronco doesn’t do as I stated to them. I can’t make this up, I think the mechanics are not sure what is wrong. I love my Bronco and have owned many fords over the years and have never had this issue. They did tell me, I should drive it more and the vibration should stop. At least they admitted it was happening. I drive 16 miles a day, so I’m not sure how much I should drive daily , I’ve never been told I should drive more

NHTSA #11621750

extreme loud vibrating noise coming from sunroof while driving at or above 35 mph. it may be bad design for rubber seal and body trim for the sunroof. for example: automatic car washing - hard rolling brushes hitting the top of the vehicle during the wash process, then there is the high pressure water rinsing from different directions, followed by a high wind vortex that causes every exterior surface extreme pressure and force. so, a few trips to the car wash, now causes your sunroof seal failure which may lead to a sunroof blow out while driving at 60mph on the high way... please ALERT ALL to this danger. sunroof seal failure. sunroof blowout. sunroof vibrating.

Power Train7 complaints

The transmission failed to go in gear. The transmission was replaced and fixed by the dealership.

NHTSA #11700929

I believe the transmission has an issue. The car was started and it quickly went into reverse and sped up trapping my wife between the door and a tree as she was exiting the vehicle to swap seats for me to drive. No known warnings were issued by the vehicle prior to the incident on 6/7/2025. The previous recall for the BCM & PCM was completed on 2/27/2025 by our local Ford dealer

Allegedly reported: 1 injury (as reported to NHTSA). NHTSA #11665543

I Was in Reverse backing out and stopped with the brake and rolled the gear dial to drive until foot off brake and it stayed stuck in reverse and I moved backwards and hit a car behind me. I braked again and looked to make sure I was in drive, And I was. Then, i took my foot off thee brake and it moved forward. Also I notice a big delay in drive after having brake applied. I think the gears are sticking. Or even a 2-4 second delay to switch from gear to gear.

When the car has been driven for more than 20 minutes it has erratic shifting issues shifting up or down. It is most notable when in stop and go traffic. Four times it has given me a wrench on the dash cluster for Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power. At the time it suggests to contact a dealer. I pull over as soon as I can, shut the vehicle off, and restarted and the wrench goes away. It will then drive normal again. It has happened on 8/25/24, 10/5/24, and twice on 3/22/25.

Fuel/Propulsion System6 complaints

I am very concerned because I have a letter dated August 2025 about this recall and nothing has been done yet. If something happens while I’m driving my car, I could have an under hood fire, resulting in risk of injury to myself or others in the vehicle. I feel it is taking entirely too long to fix this problem. It’s causing me a great deal of stress when I’m driving my vehicle.

NHTSA #11742670

How long do they have to complete repairs for this recall? This is an ongoing problem going back to Ford Escapes with the same problem going back to 2020. 6 years should be sufficient time for them to have come up for a solution for this recall.

NHTSA #11727894

Our 2024 Bronco Sport Outer Banks, 1.5 liter engine, purchased new from a Ford dealer 11/2024, serviced at the dealership and driven less than 14k miles, was destroyed by a spontaneous fire 3/22/2026. After driving 12 miles, we parked in a parking lot. Upon exiting the car we noticed a burning smell and saw small plumes of steam or smoke coming from under the car hood. Within a minute a red/orange disc of heated metal became visible on the hood surface as flames came from under the hood. Seven minutes later the fire department arrived extinguishing the fire. The car was destroyed. There were no warnings of any kind. The events suggest a cracked fuel injector. Even though 15 foot flames engulfed the car it was parked and unoccupied, there were no injuries. The results of the investigation have not been reported to us. CCTV footage was obtained from the police.

I’d like to open a customer concern case. While I was driving on the freeway on, my gas tank was punctured after hitting debris in the road. It was a standard highway situation—not off-roading or anything extreme. The fact that the gas tank was damaged to the point of leaking or requiring repair is very concerning. It was a very large rupture. I believe the underbody protection may not be adequate, and I’m worried this could be a design or safety issue. I’ve taken photos and have a repair estimate. It was a very dangerous situation as one spark from heat could have sent my brand new Bronco sport into flames. This all happened on the 5 freeway on the grapevine in California. I consider myself very lucky

I was driving my 2024 Bronco Sport, my car started stalling, power was being lost, got stuck on railroad tracks, lights on dash board of icons appeared & engine was shutting down mid drive with no warning or issues. 13,500 miles on the car

NHTSA #11743378

January 10, 2026. My battery abruptly stalled. It was charged drove a few feet in the car just stopped. The car was towed, and the battery was deemed faulty and needed replacement. May 10. The engine coolant light came on. The car would turn on and then abruptly stalled. Mid traffic. The car again was towed and it was deemed had a faulty coolant pump. I asked for the fuel injection system to be looked at and they said my card does not have a Vin recall. These two prior issues established the fact that something is wrong with my vehicle and should have been included in the main Ford recall. I would like my VIN number added for the safety of my car and to be able to get the updates necessary for the fuel injection cracks that occur in this year bronco. The dealership is refusing to do this.

NHTSA #11737742

My 2024 Ford Bronco Sport has had an open unrepaired safety recall (Ford 25S76 / NHTSA 25V467) for about 10 months. The recall states that a fuel injector may crack and create an under-hood fire risk. There is still no repair remedy available. Ford and the dealership have stated that they are trying to develop a solution until June 2026. This effectively means I am being told to continue driving a vehicle with a known fire risk for an unknown extended period of time. For the past 10 months, I have been driving this vehicle in fear. I use it every day to take my children to school, transport my family, and handle family responsibilities. I cannot afford to purchase another vehicle because I invested most of my money into this one. The dealership has not provided me with a clear solution or completed any repair related to this recall. I have also faced nearly $4,000 in mechanical repair costs on a vehicle with about 59,000 miles. I no longer feel safe or confident owning this vehicle. I am concerned that a fire could happen while driving or while parked, putting my family and surrounding property at risk.

Per a local bystander, there was smoke and fire observed around the undercarriage as he drove down the road. Multiple vehicles began honking while stopped at a red light. A driver alerted my son of the fire. He was able to evacuate along with his [XXX] sister. As they were fleeing to the median of an active highway, the vehicle burst into flames. After several explosions the vehicle continued to burn and melt until the fire dept extinguished the flames. Prior to spontaneous combustion, there were no symptoms of gas leaks or error messages. Nor were there any fluid leaks. There were no error messages or signs of vehicle distress even while my children were driving & engulfed in flames. If bystanders had not flagged down my son, my children may have still been inside the vehicle when the fire & explosions consumed them. The fire department ultimately inspected the vehicle for damage. I am still awaiting their report. Initial conversations on the scene indicated an engine fire. On June 11th, my insurer commissioned an engineer to inspect the vehicle for causation. No report currently available. The vehicle was brand new; purchased just 6 weeks ago. At the time we purchased, 2022 & 2023 models had an open safety recall for fire risk due to a fuel injection defect. There were no reported design updates for the 2024 model. Nor were the recall fixes recommended in Feb 2024 installed on my Bronco purchased late April. It is my position that both Ford & the dealership knew or should have known the 2024 models would have the same defect and fire risk. Disturbing they sold their defective vehicle to my family. The dealership claims no responsibility or obligation to disclose risks. Ford refuses to speak with me given total loss status. My only recourse now is through my insurance. My children remain traumatized by their near death experience. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Tires4 complaints

225/65 R 17 A small sliver of wood Punctured the sidewall which is unbelievable that a tire would be that weak from what appears to be a blunt puncture on a Ford Bronco Sport made for all kinds of off and on road driving conditions and something as small as a flattened tooth pick would be sufficient as a safe tire. Looking at continental tires track record with sidewall rubber structural issues I suspect this is another defect and should be investigated and recalled before causing property damage ,serious injury or death due to sidewall issues .

All 4 Continental PRO CONTACT TX tires on 1 week old brand new purchased Ford Bronco Sport VIN [XXX] from Ford Dealer Swelling on Sidewalls in various points. After researching amongst other Bronco Sport Forums issue appears to be common failure on New Bronco Sports equipped with Continental PRO CONTACT TX tires. Requested tires to be changed at Dealer, they found 1 Bronco Sport with Balled up Sidewall issues and wanted to replace "like for like" admitting they have a some sort of FACTORY defect but would not exchange tires for ones with "OUT" Factory Defect. I believe there is Faulty Construction on Sidewall of tire or Like FORD Dealer stated some sort of MANUFACTURER DEFECT. On certain CONTINENTAL PRO CONTACT TX tires from Factory. Symptoms were first noticed 6 days after having possession of new vehicle. And the Swelling appears to be moving TOWARDS the tire TREAD itself. The swelling has become increasingly noticeable and raises concerns about the safety and performance of these tires for my Family Vehicle and others having the same issues. Given the importance of tire integrity for vehicle safety, I believe this issue warrants immediate attention and investigation. This vehicle was sold to me by Front Royal Ford on August 16, 2025 with an UNDISCLOSED active safety recall. This vehicle recall still shows as active and the car remains in an "unsold" status within the Ford system, since they legally were not permitted to sell me the vehicle. I only discovered this after the car's engine light went off in September 2025, and a dealership in Indiana refused to initially do any work on it, stating it wasn't under warranty. The first repair was on September 25, 2025 and the repair was stated as a loose wire, the second repair to replace an actuator was on December 16, 2025, and it's presently undergoing a third repair for an engine misfire that occured on May 17, 2026. At this point, the repairs all related to the engine qualify for the lemon law and the car was never supposed to be sold with an open safety recall.

I reached out to ford due to my 2024 bronco sport overheating and running hot. During the time of that complaint I was advised that my bronco currently has a recall that the fuel tank needs to be replaced but it is currently being deemed as non safety and will only be addressed if the vehicle is in for service. I was also advised that due to this recall it is currently a part of fords customer satisfaction program. Anything fuel related should be deemed as a safety recall considering fuel is a flammable chemical. I have requested a buy back as I no longer feel safe operating the vehicle or comfortable transporting my daughter in the vehicle as it aligns too closely with the known fuel safety recall currently present on some 2021-2024 bronco sports.

The Powertrain of this Ford Bronco Sport (2024) with only 12,000 miles on it malfunctioned while the driver was on a major highway. No control over gears, engine power, etc. Had to pull over in heavy traffic. Fortunately there was a shoulder, or this would have been a major safety risk for the driver and other vehicles and would likely have resulted in an accident. Apparently, this malfunction is related to battery issues as well and can affect the emergency caution flashers. The vehicle was inspected by Ford after being towed to a local dealership and was told that this was part of a recall on other Ford Broncos. A few days later, was told that Ford dealership was replacing the transmission and other parts.

Electrical System,Service Brakes1 complaint

On March 17, 2026, during an oil change service at Mullinax Ford of Kissimmee, located at 1810 E Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL, I reported several concerns, including a clicking noise, a rough braking noise, and a whiplash-like sensation when engaging Drive. I was also advised that I was nearing the time for a brake fluid flush because the vehicle was around 24,000 miles. On April 15, 2026, I returned to Mullinax Ford for the brake fluid flush. The same concerns were again noted, but I was told the vehicle checked out and that there were no issues with the brakes. I picked up the vehicle after being told it was safe to drive. On my drive home, the vehicle’s brakes locked up on two separate occasions, triggering multiple alarms and creating two near-accident situations. The first time, I nearly struck another vehicle while trying to stop at a traffic light. The second time, I nearly entered moving traffic while trying to stop at a stop sign. I immediately contacted Mullinax Ford. The dealership acknowledged that this was a safety concern, and the vehicle had to be towed back for further repair. This occurred after I was told by management that the vehicle had been personally checked and was safe to drive. Since then, the vehicle continues to have the persistent clicking noise and the whiplash-like engagement feeling, and these symptoms have worsened. I have also reported a separate concern regarding a sunroof leak, but I was advised to call back in a few weeks because the person who handles sunroof repairs was unavailable. We brought it Gary Yeoman’s Palm Bay Ford and they drove the vehicle and feel there might be something wrong with either the brake or transmission.

Sometimes the Ford Bronco will hesitate to move from a stop position especially when the auto start and stop has been engaged during periods of driving. Also the vehicle hesitated when trying to change lanes. I had to push gas peddle all the way down in order to get into another lane. Electrical System,Structure1 complaint

On XXX, driving at a relatively low rate of speed coming off the on-ramp from [XXX] onto [XXX], the hood of our Thrifty rental vehicle, a 2024 Ford Bronco, suddenly and without warning, flew up and completely obstructed the windshield. As we had just entered the highway we were quite fortunate to have been in the right hand lane and able to safely pull into the breakdown lane. And even more fortunate that there were not cars immediately ahead or behind us that we could have hit. And third, very fortunate that the force of the hood did not shatter the windshield. The hood flew up with such force that it essentially "wedged" itself into the side edges of the car and had to be manually dislodged to be closed. Some tube or coil-like structure on the right side of the car had been split in two by the force (later learned this was the windshield wiper fluid hose). Two other points of importance - it was very windy that day. And there was absolutely no warning on the dashboard system that the hood was ajar or anything to that effect. We drove at a very low rate of speed to the next exit to find a service station where the car could be inspected before driving the 3 hours on to [XXX]. The mechanic stated the problem had been with the hood latch, but it appeared safe for us to drive. On returning the car to Thrifty, a verbal report was immediately given, but it seemed strange to me that no paperwork was filled out. The woman processing cars wrote down "windshield wiper hose" and left to move some vehicles. I waited for about 10 minutes, but she didn't return. Research upon my return home revealed similar problems reported with other Ford Broncos - both with the hood opening unexpectedly while driving and with faulty dashboard warning systems. [XXX] I was contacted by Thrifty's 3rd party vendor handling "damage incidents" - PurCo and related these events. They claim Thrifty sees no problem on their end. Clonninger Auto Body Shop 511 Jake Alexander Blvd S Salisbury NC 28147 The 2024 Bronco Sport owned by Megan Michaels was presented to our service department with a customer concern of a rattling noise coming from the rear of the vehicle, along with abnormal tire wear on the rear tires. Our Master Technician performed a road test and verified a clunking/rattling noise originating from the left rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was then lifted, and a comprehensive inspection of the rear suspension system was completed. During inspection, it was determined that the left rear lower control arm mounting point at the body has structurally failed. The mounting location where the control arm attaches to the body has separated from the vehicle’s floor structure, allowing the control arm to shift from its proper position into the body cavity where it should normally be securely supported. This condition has caused:  Excessive movement within the rear suspension system  The confirmed clunking/rattling noise  Abnormal rear tire wear due to improper alignment and instability Cause of Failure: The failure is the result of a structural separation of the lower control arm mounting point from the vehicle’s body. This is a failure of the vehicle’s structural floor assembly and is not related to a replaceable suspension component. Required Repair: Due to the extent of the structural damage, the vehicle will require replacement of the complete floor pan assembly in order to restore proper mounting integrity of the suspension system and ensure safe vehicle operation. If you have any questions or require additional documentation, please contact our service department directly.

Electrical System,Unknown Or Other,Service Brakes1 complaint

I purchased my vehicle 6 months ago. I had no prior issues outside of a rough drive or a very slight burning smell from time to time. 12/2025 I found out through my auto insurance that my vehicle had a active safety recall (25S76) so I scheduled with my local Ford to get the temp software PCM update done until the remedy becomes available. Immediately after the software update I started getting a lot of system error codes; keys not detected, airbag fault, Tailgate open (when it wasnt), auto hold system fault, auto start/stop system fault, etc.. During this time I had issues with my break system "softening" like the breaks wanted to go out OR the break peddle locking up on me and being unable to move/drive. Delays in acceleration or spurts of acceleration which was uncommanded. This happened in active school zones making it even more unsafe and dangerous to drive. I took it back to my nearest dealership, and they could not replicate the issues but kept my case open and said to inform them if things changed. Things gradually got worse. I have video recording of my car accelerating without my foot on the peddle and my breaking peddle softening to the point of not working properly as well as hardening and locking up. I have photos of the errors when I was able to safely due so. I have full documentation that is not listed here (due to the amount of words allowed). I took my vehicle back and has been with Frontier Ford in Anacortes WA for 5 days. I have contacted Ford as well. I am unable to get a rental due to both Ford and the dealership both telling me to go to each other for help. I have no update as my vehicle is still in testing. They were able to replicate some of the issues but have no update outside of that. I have no way to work or take my children back and forth to their classes. My Ford dealership said this software has caused similar issues with other vehicles but my issue was a more severe case. I am unsure on how to move forward with this.

Service Brakes1 complaint

• What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection? The brake system on my 2024 Ford Bronco Sport failed to respond for approximately 2–3 seconds after I pressed the brake pedal. This occurred immediately after freeing my foot from underneath the gas pedal while cruise control was active. The vehicle is available for inspection. • How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle did not slow down when the brake pedal was fully pressed, causing me to enter an intersection while other vehicles were turning. I had to swerve to avoid a collision, but another vehicle entered my path and a crash occurred. The braking delay directly increased the risk of a serious accident. • Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center? UNKNOWN. I have not yet had a dealership or service center attempt to reproduce or diagnose the issue. • Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or others? The accident was documented by police and insurance, but the mechanical issue itself has not yet been inspected for cause. • Were there any warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure? When did they appear? There were no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms before the brake failure. The brakes simply did not respond when pressed. • Description of the incident: While traveling northbound on Sterling Ave approaching Truman Rd, the light turned yellow. I attempted to brake, but my foot was caught under the accelerator due to cruise control being engaged. After freeing my foot, I pressed the brake firmly, but the brakes did not respond for approximately 2–3 seconds. I swerved left to avoid turning traffic and sounded my horn. Another vehicle continued its turn and my front passenger quarter panel struck its rear passenger quarter panel at about 15 mph. The brakes only began functioning after the vehicle jerked from evasive steering input.

I don’t know the exact name of the system that failed but my Bronco would not accelerate after making complete stops. When I would press on the gas pedals to move from a stopped position the Bronco would move very very slowly which in turn almost caused me to have over 3 car accidents as when I would press the gas to move from a stopping position it would move forward very slowly no matter who much pressure I would put on the gas pedal which in turn the oncoming cars almost hit me. I took the Bronco to the dealership and they said they had to reprogram the acceleration but that it could take up to 500 miles for the issue to be corrected. I believe from my experience this is dangerous and not safe! And should be addressed. This incident has happened several times not one.

The vehicle was bought brand new in February of this year, 2025. Was bought and has been driven by my daughter who turned [XXX] this year. She went to camp and the vehicle sat behind the house till she got back. the vehicle and front windshield face west and is exposed to the summer sun from 11:30 till 8pm. When she got back and went to drive the car on [XXX], there was a large stress crack in the middle of the windshield. (will attach pictures if possible with this online form). I had my neighbor check his security camera to see if anyone had vandalized the vehicle or if there had been any large object fall on the vehicle. after reviewing his recorded video, we both saw that no one touched the vehicle and that nothing fell on the windshield during the time it sat. I contacted Ford Motor Co. and they instructed me to take it to the dealership and have them take a look and then submit a claim if they thought it was a stress crack from the sun. I took the vehicle in to the dealership on June 26, 2025 and was told I would hear updates over the next few days. Over a week went by and I had to call the service dept at Wyatt Johnson Ford in Nashville. The Assistant service manager stated that Ford Warranty was denying the claim and stated that something else must have caused the crack. The Assistant Manager told me that the technician had written that they believed it was a stress crack from sun exposure and had submitted photos that backed up that claim. Also, on the work order, the Assistant Manager also wrote that it was a stress crack from sun exposure. There is a deep, horizontal crack in the middle of the windshield that has no origination marks or indentations which one would expect from the way that Ford Motor Warranty is denying the claim. I have asked the Assistant Manager to resubmit the claim and I sent him the photos I had taken as soon as it was first noticed. I was driving down the highway, and my moonroof exploded. I thought something had exploded or someone had shot at me. No other cars were around me that could have caused something to pop up and hit the roof. I did take it to the dealership service where photos were taken and submitted for a possible claim on the warranty. I only have about 2000 miles on the vehicle. My first payment isn't even due yet. Ford warranty declined the claim. It looked like it exploded upwards leading me to think this was an installation or material issue. Glass that exploded out flew off the roof of the vehicle scratching it as it dragged along. This could have hit another driver if one had been following behind me. Visibility/Wiper1 complaint

The windshield on this vehicle is faulty. On online forms, others have commented on the same thing I am experiencing: the integrity of this windshield is so weak that within a couple months (sometimes just a few days) of having the vehicle, you can get multiple chips or cracks. On my last chip, I was driving on a Michigan highway at least 30 yards from other vehicles when something chipped my windshield. I've had the windshield chip while going 65mph on the high way, and also while my vehicle was at a standstill at a red light and the car in front of me pulled away quickly, kicking up debris. People often comment that they cannot afford to constantly keep up with the unending number of repairs needed to fix the windshield. As a result, they're driving with reduced visibility which impacts all drivers on the road. ADAS is built into the windshield- if cracks/chips occur in this area, the ADAS can become compromised. The windshield also contributes to the strength of the vehicle in rollovers- lack of stuctural integrtiy due to cracks/chips impacts that. Being an SUV that sits higher, the Bronco Sport is more prone to rollovers that lower sitting vehicles. Because the cost of replacing the windshield through Ford is so high (over $1000) many opt not to replace it or use a non OEM, aftermarket windshield which might not work as well with safety systems. This issue has been inspected by a Safelite auto glass technician - he remarked that this is extremely common with the Bronco Sport, this vehicle is one of the most common models he repairs. This component is available for inspection upon request.

Steering,Unknown Or Other1 complaint

The steering is temporarily disabled when the vehicle is in the auto off/fuel saver mode. I had an approaching EMS vehicle that I was almost struck by because my vehicle was off due to that feature. The steering wheel was not responsive.

Power Train,Service Brakes,Engine1 complaint

Upon attempting to start vehicle every warning indicator flashed in series across the screen and the SUV would not start nor was the vehicle lockable. Also, the rear door and access glass (where tools, safety equipment, and spare tire is located) could not be opened. The vehicle would not start and could not be placed in neutral to push the vehicle to a safe location. The manufacturer informed me a "failure to communicate" was indicated in their system. Had this occurred in an unsafe location such as on a highway or in a physically dangerous location occupants would be placed in danger from other moving vehicles and/or criminal activity. Operators of this model MUST 1.) Be able to place the vehicle in neutral when needed. 2.) Be able to manually open the rear liftgate and/or rear glass to obtain safety and repair equipment. 3.) Be able to manually lock the vehicle as needed to secure both occupants and contents. I have scheduled a maintenance visit/repair with an authorized Ford dealer in Joplin, Missouri to address multiple instances of "Loss of Communication" as reported to Ford Motor Corp.

Electrical System,Unknown Or Other,Fuel/Propulsion System1 complaint

When coming from a stop at a traffic light vehicle losses power for approximately 15-20 seconds. This puts the driver of the vehicle, passengers, and other vehicle drivers operating on the roadway in danger of a major collision, possible bodily harm or even death. We have twice taken the vehicle to our dealership, where we purchased the vehicle; in order to fix the recall and we have had no success in gaining a remedy for the issues. The vehicle was seen twice by the Chandler, Arizona Earnheart Ford service department. There were no warning signs before the incident and they started appearing soon after the purchase of the vehicle. We have notice that the hotter it is outside the more frequent the loss of power occurs.
