Recalls Reported to NHTSA

The following recalls were reported to NHTSA. A recall does not by itself establish that any individual vehicle is defective.

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FLUID

NHTSA #22V392000

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 Cadillac XT6 vehicles. The brake fluid reservoir cap may be missing the warning label. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Reported consequence: Without a warning label, the brake fluid may be unintentionally contaminated by debris, which can affect brake performance and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the brake fluid reservoir cap and replace it, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 30, 2022. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222369130.

SUSPENSION:REAR

NHTSA #22V427000

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 Cadillac XT5, XT6, and GMC Acadia vehicles. The left-rear suspension toe link may have been tightened improperly, which could result in a loose or separated toe link.

Reported consequence: A loose toe link can separate and cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the left-rear suspension and replace the fastener if it is loose or missing, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 11, 2022. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N222364330.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY

NHTSA #22V446000

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 Cadillac XT5, XT6, and GMC Acadia All-Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles. The fuel tank rollover valve may not provide a proper seal in the event of a rollover crash.

Reported consequence: A fuel tank rollover valve that does not properly seal can result in a fuel leak during a rollover crash, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the fuel tank and replace the fuel tank shell if the rollover valve is found to be dislodged or missing, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 27, 2022. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N222366070.

My Cadillac has experienced a history of repeated mechanical/electrical issues and has spent extended periods of time out of service at the dealership for repairs. On today’s date, while driving at normal roadway speed, the vehicle suddenly lost all power without warning, creating a dangerous safety situation. The vehicle became extremely difficult to control and lost normal drivability functions while in traffic. I was fortunately able to safely maneuver the vehicle to a stop without a collision or injury. Due to the complete loss of power and unsafe operating condition, the vehicle had to be towed. I will get it to the dealership when they open again for business on Monday. Given the repeated repair history and this most recent dangerous failure while driving, I no longer believe the vehicle is safe or reliable to operate. I am requesting investigation of this safety-related defect and have initiated a formal buyback review request with General Motors/Cadillac.

NHTSA #11736690

The thermostat sensor is defaulty. While driving all of the dashboard component lights flash on and off and the vehicle loses power while driving. Called the dealership and the technician knew exactly what it was because he said this is a known issue and when I got the vehicle to the dealership they didn't need to do a diagnostic, they knew exactly what it was. A recall should have happened to avoid this.

I was driving south on I75 approximately one mile north of the University Exit at 2:30 PM at approximately 70 MPH when I heard a very loud bang (almost like a gunshot). I quickly surveyed the vehicle (and noted there were no other vehicles around me) while keeping it under control when I heard a second loud Bang, it was about 1-2 seconds after the first Bang. I heard a loud rushing noise after the second bang, that's when I suspected a shattered Sunroof. I exited I75 at University and inspected the damage. The Sunroof was shattered. It was fortunate that I had the sunscreen closed when the Sunroof shattered otherwise, I would have been showered with flying glass and/or lost control of the vehicle. I filed a Warranty Claim with Cadillac which was rejected a week later. I covered the cost of repair via my vehicle insurance using Crestview Cadillac to do the repair work
