Recalls Reported to NHTSA

The following recalls were reported to NHTSA. A recall does not by itself establish that any individual vehicle is defective.

EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL

NHTSA #26V114000

General Motors has decided that certain 2027 Chevrolet Bolt EV, 2025-2026 Cadillac OPTIQ, Chevrolet Colorado, Equinox EV, GMC Canyon, 2026 Buick Enclave, Envision, Cadillac CT5, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade IQ, Escalade IQL, LYRIQ, VISTIQ, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Corvette Convertible, Corvette Coupe, Corvette Convertible E-Ray, Equinox, Silverado 1500, 2500, 3500, Silverado EV, Suburban 1500, Tahoe, Traverse, GMC Acadia, Hummer EV Pickup, Hummer EV SUV, Sierra 1500, 2500, 3500, Sierra EV, Terrain, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The radio may not have been set to the correct status to download the electronic owner's manual during production. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, “Occupant Protection.”

Reported consequence: Without an owner's manual to consult, owners may not know how to safely use and operate the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will reset the vehicle radio, which will facilitate automatic download of the electronic owner’s manual, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 16, 2026. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-866-467-9700, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223. The manufacturer's number for this recall is N252540430. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on February 26, 2026.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Cadillac Optic and 2025-2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles equipped with 21-inch Continental all-season tires. One or more of these tires may experience partial or full tread detachment.

Reported consequence: Tire tread detachment increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect all four tires and replace those manufactured during DOT week 4024, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 19, 2025. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223, or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N252525030. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 16, 2025.

My GPS, OnStar and all other cruise control features have stopped functioning. The telematics module has failed within the onstar system. It is preventative by me from getting from place to place safely due to the gps not tracking correctly. The part has been on back order for over a month for me already. And I have no timeline to get a new one.

NHTSA #11689764

I one pedal drive and concurrently regenerative breaking is on since November of 2018. Having reversed out of the garage and then closing the garage door and before I reversed on to the street the OptiQ roughly lurched forward while stationary. While slowly entering the home garage to park, the OptiQ performed a forward lurching over a wooden barrier touching the wall (5/31/25). The front grill has indentations. Cavender Cadillac advisor has not returned my call.

Tires1 complaint

Continental Cross Contact RX, 245/50 R20, M&S I was driving my 2025 Cadillac Optiq. I was about 1 mile from my home driving at 35 mph or less when the rear passenger side tire blew out. There was a fist size hole in the track (bottom of tire) . I definitely didn’t run over anything. The car was towed to a Cadillac dealer who put on a new tire at my expense. At the dealers they said it was “unusual”. There was no warning lamps, messages, etc. I was lucky that I wasn’t on a highway traveling ay high speeds. There was only about 2,500 miles on the tire.

Service Brakes1 complaint

I am filing this safety complaint regarding my 2025 Cadillac Optiq with approximately 6,500 miles. On May 25, 2026, during rainy/wet road conditions, the vehicle failed to stop normally on two separate occasions while I was approaching stop signs at low speed. I was driving cautiously and was not speeding due to the rain. During the braking events, the vehicle displayed an “ABS Active” message/indicator, but the vehicle did not decelerate or stop as expected. I had to continue attempting to brake, and the vehicle traveled farther than it should have before stopping. This happened twice in the same day under wet conditions. Fortunately, there were no other vehicles or pedestrians in the intersection at the time, so no crash or injury occurred. However, if another vehicle or person had been present, this could have resulted in a serious collision or injury. I checked the NHTSA and Cadillac/GM VIN recall lookup and did not see an active recall listed for my VIN. However, I am aware of public information regarding a GM/Cadillac service update involving the Brake System Control Module and reduced deceleration during low-speed ABS braking events. I am concerned that my vehicle may have a braking/ABS defect or brake control module software issue. I do not currently feel safe driving the vehicle until it is inspected. I am requesting that this issue be investigated because the vehicle displayed ABS activity but did not stop normally during low-speed braking in wet conditions.

Wheels1 complaint

Vehicle experienced a sudden tire blowout and loss of control matching recall 25V704000. Rear driver side Tire ruptured while driving, bounced car to the left , hit car mirror off of a mailbox, then car bounced off to the right of road. When I described this incident to my friend who works at GM quality, he believes this description fits perfectly the tire failure/ recall GM had on continental tires in 2025. However, my VIN shows 0 active recalls. The manufacturer's recall boundary is too narrow and must be expanded to include this vehicle block. The dealer charged me $1,100 for consequential wheel damage.

Electrical System,Unknown Or Other,Forward Collision Avoidance1 complaint

On or about December 2, 2025, I discovered that multiple connected and safety-related systems on my 2025 Cadillac Optiq had stopped functioning. We believe a GM over-the-air software update was installed the weekend prior, and the dealer has inferred that the update may have caused the failure. We brought the car into the dealership on December 16th. The car was "fixed" and I picked up later that evening. i was told that the OnStar module is broken and is on national backorder. The OnStar module is connected to, several critical safety and driver-assistance systems which are inoperable. These include, but are not limited to: OnStar emergency services driver-assist systems, GPS and navigation functions Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and vehicle internet connectivity. Although the vehicle is technically drivable, the loss of these systems poses a significant safety risk to occupants and others on the road. The vehicle cannot contact emergency services in a collision, cannot send diagnostic data, and lacks essential driver-assistance and navigation capabilities. The dealer has confirmed the problem, but the replacement telematics module is currently backordered with no clear timeline, and they stated the delay could last weeks or longer. Because the failure appears to have been caused by a GM-issued OTA update, and because essential safety systems are offline, I am concerned about both the defect itself and the extended inability to repair it due to unavailable parts. UNKNOWN whether GM has conducted a broader inspection or analysis of this update or component, but the failure has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer’s service department.

Steering,Electrical System,Vehicle Speed Control1 complaint

On November 24, 2025, I discovered that multiple connected and safety-related systems on my 2025 Cadillac Optiq had stopped functioning. We believe a GM over-the-air software update was installed the weekend prior, and the dealer has inferred that the update may have caused the failure. We brought the car into the dealership on November 26th. The car was "fixeed" and we picked it up on December 2nd. Before we were able to leave the lot, the telematic system broke again. The dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the telematics module had failed. We left the vehicle at the dealership,. There were no warning lights, error messages, or other indications before the failure occurred. After the failure, several critical safety and driver-assistance systems became inoperable or severely impaired. These include, but are not limited to: OnStar emergency services Automatic crash notification Steering assistance Cruise and speed control Lane-change and driver-assist systems GPS and navigation functions Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and vehicle internet connectivity Although the vehicle is technically drivable, the loss of these systems poses a significant safety risk to occupants and others on the road. Visibility/Wiper1 complaint

Horrible glare from the dashboard on the windshield. Makes it difficult to see when driving during the day.

Electrical System,Back Over Prevention,Forward Collision Avoidance1 complaint

Hi, For example, Audio would cut completely throughout the vehicle not allowing me to access any sources such as the On star board system in the event of a crash, music sources etc. In addition, when this happens all my safety features turn off on the car along with the screen going blank etc. This continued to happen on multiple occasions including with my kids and family in car on a 1 hour trip to Miami. I immediately one morning after experiencing the issue multiple times on my way to work texted my sales advisor. I made an appointment and dropped it off the same day. The service advisor, sat in the car with me and confirmed the issue at hand without me saying anything. After, I was told it would take about two weeks to fix my car because of the lack of EV specialist available. I contacted EV concierge the following day and all of a sudden I got a call back from the dealer saying they ran updates and that my issue was resolved. Here I am a couple weeks later having the same issue. This time now it happens on EVERY drive. To the point I had to call On star on my way home just to have someone on the line with me incase something happened. The safety features turn off. Audio cuts off and on and at this rate I can't trust the car safety wise for my kids/family and individual safety any longer. It's unacceptable that we can't trust this vehicle to keep us safe and sound. Buyback is being requested. Thank Y

The Optiq daytime display brightness cannot be adjusted. It is set to automatically adjust brightness to the light conditions but in some situations it is too dim and this is distracting. The adjustment knob only works during nighttime and according to GM this is by design. The automatic daytime setting has one level of brightness regardless of the driver visual comfort.
