POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE

NHTSA #22V563000

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Outlander Sport vehicles equipped with continuously variable transmissions and mechanical key ignition systems. A software error in the transmission control unit (CVT-ECU) may incorrectly reduce the transmission gear ratio at high speeds, which can result in an engine stall.

Reported consequence: An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the CVT-ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 24, 2022. Owners may contact MMNA customer service at 1-888-648-7820. MMNA's number for this recall is SR-22-004.

ENGINE

Starter clicks, doesn't turn engine. Tried rotating engine, engine will not turn past a certain angle. Removed spark plugs for cylinder inspection. 1,2, and 3 ok. Cylinder 4 spark plug extremely difficult to remove. Ground strap has been impacted by | Vehicle will not go into reverse from drive. Must put vehicle in park then to reverse or it won’t back up.

POWER TRAIN

Took the car in for routine cvt fluid and filter change. Mechanic completed the task Took the vehicle for a road test and at highway speed the cvt transmission shifted to a higher gear and revved the motor rpms immediately over 6000 to 7000. Threw it | The contact owns a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V563000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the dealer refused to per | Hesitation when putting thee vehicle in drive or reverse. While driving RPMs fluctuate 500-1000RPMs continuously. Studdering when accelerating from a complete stop.

AIR BAGS

Airbags did not deploy. | I got an accirdent Jan 9,2025 and my car was totally wreck. Im in body pain and therapy right now and in working status report because of my situation. The airbag didnt deployed at the time of accident. Mitsubishi outlander has 7 airbags , but nothin | The lights for the air bags is on ,

SERVICE BRAKES

Rear brake calipers sticking constantly. Emergency brake also sticking or loosing tension. | Front calipers made a ratting noise, every time we drive over small street cracks or bumps, this happen when my car reached about 45000 miles, we replace the calipers now there is no more ratting noise. | WHEN USING THE BRAKE AUTO HOLD I STEPPED ON THE GAS WHILE SCRATCHING MY SIDE AT THE SAME TIME TO CROSS THE ROAD. I ACCIDENTALLY UNBUCKLED MY SEAT BELT WHICH THEN CAUSED THE BRAKE AUTO HOLD TO DISENGAGE AND AUTOMATICALLY APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE. THIS

SEAT BELTS

The Rear middle and Right side seat belts will NOT latch any longer. | I AM A RIDESHARE DRIVER. ON FRIDAY, APRIL 23, 2021 PASSENGERS BEGAN TO COMPLAIN THAT THE RIGHT-SIDE SEAT BELT (ON THE 2ND ROW OF SEATS) WOULD NOT FASTEN. POWER TRAIN,SERVICE BRAKES

Transmission not working properly. It said overheating and then stopped driving suddenly whil driving. Very unsafe. Also issue with parking break that just stopped working. I bought this car from market place face book , the seller deleted his account. After the sale, so I felt suspicious and search in the google using rhe vin number and found out the mileage on VIN check page doesn’t match the number in the car | I bought this car used less than 30 days ago. It had 21362 miles on it. It made a weird nose when putting it into drive. Thought it might be a heatshield. Took it to a mitsubishi dealership for an outstanding recall. Ask them to check underneath. | WHEN TURNING ON THERE IS A KNOCKING SOUND. ALSO WHEN DRIVING IT SLIDES TO RIGHT. WITHOUT TURNING. KNOCKING SOUND ALL THE TIME. BRAKING IT SLIDES.
